James Rockets aka Dame's Rockets here

like a lot of wildflowers which are classified as weeds sometimes they can be pestersome
but these are some of my favorites and they were out early this year

hope you find Wild Sweet William soon, Lynne

oh I was watching Palmer a short while ago hopping and flapping
it's pretty heart-stopping at times

sounds like a nice soft meal, Judie
tooth problems or not

I do not know how to put captions on each picture - yet - I think I could try to learn it though

but I do add pictures in the reverse order of how I want them to show up and it usually works

good luck with all that, some here will offer some good ideas for it

Back home and it is starting to rain again...enough, is enough! Our gardens are soaked and we have had enough for a while. I know we will be begging for more in a few weeks, but right now, I'm tired of it!! Had to take GG to Urgent Care today and my hair got so wet, I'll have to think of something constructive to do with it for church tomorrow...had it shampooed and styled, ready for Sunday:(
GG's sore leg was getting a red ring aroung the wound and it worried me and her, so off to Urgent Care. Gave her some antibiotics and a prescription for some new-fangled bandage. Drugstore didn't have it, so we have to wait until order comes in Monday (order a bandage?!)

Gardens are all planted, here and GG's. Sitting back now and watching the weeds grow faster than the veggies:) Planted lots of Red, Yellow and Orange peppers. Those delicacies are running $3.99 a pound now!

Costume Lady said...

Yes, Margy, in reverse order works for me. To put comments under photo, put cursor on right side of photo at the bottom and click on ENTER til you get it directly under photo. Give it a try...play around with it. Click on the PENCIL to delete comments if they aren't where you want them.

Lynne2 said...

Well Margy....they look so similar in the pictures I've seen. Guess my FIRST clue would have been to count the PETALS!! Second hint shoulda been that all SW plants shown in pics are purple. What I see come in white, light purple and purple. And they smell so pretty! I like the James Rockets name! How old is he Margy?

paula eagleholic said...

Evening, all.

I hear raindrops at the nest.

Managed to check in on Palmer today, saw lots of poking around for nestovers. Missed Lib with the fish.

BWE was MT most of the day, was nice and sunny down there. BWO was incubating nicely.

Wonder if Megan saw the bear?

And I heard it's good luck to rain on the bride!

magpie said...

OK Wanda, thanks!
Always enjoy yours...

sorry to hear of yet another setback with GG....

hope you can relax tonight

(( hugs ♥ ♥ ))

paula eagleholic said...

Have a great trip, Steve.

paula eagleholic said...

Nice poop shoot and wing flapping!

paula eagleholic said...

And Wanda, I agree..meant to mention about enough rain the other day...have mushrooms growing in the yard! Glad you took GG back...that is funny about ordering a bandage!

More flaps and hopping!

magpie said...

Lynne -
I have to count petals, how the leaves are and it takes me quite some time to identify some that I see, we have at least four colors here, light and dark lavendar, white, and a rosy pink

think the bear maybe was out near Rt 340 betw Chas Town and Harpers Ferry...not sure if Megan travels that route or not...

your bear report and this one, Paula, well it must be time, we have not had any bear sightings in Berkeley County reported....yet

glad you are home out of the rain Paula...and that Sunday is a day "off",
and that the T-ball game was fun

paula eagleholic said...

And Margy, you can also center, use different colors and fonts for the words on your blog, use the little icons at the top of your post to do that.

paula eagleholic said...

Gotta feed the doggies...

magpie said...

ok thanks Paula
also
I want to learn how to do a slide show, just need to take the time to do that

Good evening everybody. Was just watching Palmer do some wingercizing! Heart attack.

paula eagleholic said...

I finally picked up some annuals for my hanging baskets and filling in some bare spots in the gardens...also tomatoes, peppers and zucchini. Would love to get them in the ground this weekend...

paula eagleholic said...

Whow, fish drop
!

Costume Lady said...

I do my slide shows on Picasa and it is almost self-explanatory...very easy.

magpie said...

Two very large eagles in our nest !

Lynne2 said...

Margy, you have mail

Wanda, so sorry about GG. I hope she's going to be OK!

paula eagleholic said...

Don't know if a fish or not, Palmer sure is chriping away...Oh I see the fish now, nice one!

And all is quiet again.

Dad says, "I'm outta here, that kid is driving me crazy"!

Judie said...

Wanda, sorry about what happened to your "do" in the rain but glad you got GG medical attention. How annoying to have to wait to have a bandage delivered -- maybe a type with medication on it? Maybe you can wrap your head in a shiny garland.

Palmer was eating.

Steve, enjoy your trip. You need a little time away.

paula eagleholic said...

Finally got to watch the Hornby link that Jo posted on the other thread...cool live fish, I wonder what they were, they were slender and small. Loved Phoenix downing that whole fish! You could just see her crop grow!

NatureNut said...

See there's been some excitement in the osprey world w/EJ and Odin's first hatch!! And News Flash from the Park----ospreys in our cam nest have 2 chicks that hatched 19th & 20th!!Of course the cam is down!
And also, Congratultions again for Jo's Granddaughter's wedding.
Wanda, hope GG gets all fixed up!You are a wonderful daughter.
Margy, hats off to you on EM Workers' week!!! (I know my title is wrong, but you know what I mean!)
It just started to rain here, but was supposed to start at 3 PM, so all those Park visitors got lucky! Boy, it was busy!

NatureNut said...

The rest of the story is unreal!!!~~~~On way home, was stopped behind a car at a red light. I noticed something strange on the back window deck~~~AN XMAS GARLAND!!!! This one was fake green pine, tho, and had a gold ball on left side and a few pinecones frosted w/white paint!!!I grabbed the camera & was just about to shoot when the light turned green. ☺ True story ☺

Lynne2 said...

That's funny Loretta!

On the way to Terra Alta just past Sidling Hill, there is a lone pine with a big red bow and green shiny garland. Not OUR garland of course, but it gives me a chuckle!

paula eagleholic said...

Lib back, not sure what he brought this time, maybe some fluff....hmmm something large and brownish....clump of fluff?

BEagle said...

Since there were four small fishies brought to Phoenix, I figure they may be small herring that travel in schools.

BEagle said...

Palmer all alone and probably dreaming of herrings.

Getting ready for Stone Cold with Tom Selleck. :)

Lynne2 said...

Paula, did you watch the video? You of all people will love it!

I'm already thinking of how I can star Daisy in one....

Off to catch up on some TV shows. In case I fall asleep, prayers for you all my friends and to all of you out there lurking and not blogging yet....COME ON IN!!!!!

Have a good night!

hedgie said...

Back again the same day. Only 6 owners out of 43 present....par for the course.

Here's some info: "We plan to band the Two Harbors chicks tomorrow. We should arrive at the nest between 10 am and 1 pm." Keep in mind that they are three hours behind us!

Wanda, ER crew ought to know you all by name now!! I would call them and tell them pharmacy can't fill Rx til Monday and see of hospital pharmacy can now!

Judie said...

I cannot believe you two, Loweeda and Lynne. Shiny garlands, indeed. Are you BOTH telling a true story? Maybe that's what the bear was looking for today -- Hope Wanda gets one to decorate her hair for church tomorrow.

Off to peer through Boris's creation and then some t.v.

hedgie said...

Garland, garland everywhere!
Loretta, so they had their rear window still decorated from Christmas, huh? LOL!
And the tree you pass, too, Lynne? Gee, they only have 6 mos. and it's that time again!!!

Costume Lady said...

JUDIE, good idea...put a garland in my hair. No one will notice that I got caught in the rain:)

Lynn, we went to Urgent Care Clinic, today...not ER or ED, as they call it now. Tee Hee (Can't help but laugh at that one!)

I will like the new bandage...only need to change it every three days! Doesn't sound right, does it?

Hello,

Relaxing after a busy day. Made it to class a bit before 8:30, and the parking lot was mostly full. Very dressed-up people were standing in line to submit their resumes at the job fair. Middle-aged people and gray-haired people. I just walked around them and up to the door. Figured I would just keep going until someone said something to me.

When I got inside the building, someone asked me which location I was supposed to be in, and when I said that I had a class upstairs, they pointed out the elevator. (I was pulling a wheeled bag with my computer in it.) The line was still there when I went home a bit after 1:00. I hope lots of people got jobs. Most were in business suits or dresses. Others were in military uniforms. Those of us in classes were definitely more casually dressed.

stronghunter said...

Never heard of a prescription bandage, Wanda. Must be unusual if they had to order it. I've run into the need to order medications recently.

hedgie said...

Margy was right about the location for the bear, Paula. Megan no where near if she was at market.

hedgie said...

Wanda, gotcha on the Urgent Care. Thought you had gone through Fast Track (minor) at the ED. LOL! The bandage is medicated, I'm sure, and three days is not uncommon on some kinds of dressings. Hope it does the trick!

Think I'm going to the sofa for awhile and fall asleep watching the race!

NatureNut said...

Judie, Wanda, that is a great idea for hairdo enhancement!!!
Yes, Wanda, most Drs. even today would say you need to change bandage every day!I want one of those newfangled ones! Had a cyst lanced TH & no novacaine!!☺

I got carried away by med stories & now I will carry myself away for more food & some TV. If I konk out, please have Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)

stronghunter said...

We spent a good part of today cutting and gluing things together. A painless way to earn some credits. Most of the teachers were from elementary schools, but I got some good ideas. I like to have my students draw and glue and paste, etc. My room is full of posters students have made. I have found that WalMart sells packages of ten sheets of poster paper for less than $4.00. At that price, I can buy enough poster paper for an entire class.

Costume Lady said...

DuoDERM Hydroactive Dressings - 4 inch x 4 inch (20/BX)
CVT-187611
$115.95

I think this is what was ordered.
I sure hope GG's insurance pays for this!

stronghunter said...

So, Wanda, will we be getting pictures of you with the garland wrapped around your head?

stronghunter said...

Yikes! Expensive bandages!

Costume Lady said...

Jo must be all partied out! Or maybe she's processing photos to show us.
Speaking of photos, Shirley, can you take photos of some of the students posters. Would be fun to see:)

Costume Lady said...

I probably wouldn't be able to get Gene to take a picture, he would pretend he didn't know me;)

stronghunter said...

Will take pictures of the posters when I go back to school. I have more to grade and put up as well. Gotta do something about my hair tomorrow. The weekend has been busy. I meant to get more done on Friday, but I do need a day to relax from time to time.

My children were planning to bring the mattress and box spring today, but it rained just as they were about to pick it up. I am looking forward to sleeping on a new mattress. I have to admit the old one is in bad shape.

stronghunter said...

Can't believe Gene would pretend he doesn't know you! I know he would not get away with it at your church.

stronghunter said...

Maybe Jo is still partying.

Judie said...

Wanda, as for the very expensive medicated bandages, I think if you send a picture of your garlanded hair with a note asking where your antipsychotic meds are, you'll probably never see a bill.

brzpwqoptr, ooops, face hit the keyboard. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others coming in -- where's Jo? Pleasant eagle dreams for all.

Judie said...

Shirley, sounds like a fun day. Would like to see some pictures. Um, about your hair, since the garland is no longer available you might try to fashion a pillbox hat out of poster paper.

Okay, I am really turning my light off this time. Goodnight everyone.

stronghunter said...

Good night, Judie. I am not far behind you. Maybe my last night on the old mattress.

stronghunter said...

Shucks, Judie, all of my poster paper is at school. With all of my new skills in cutting and gluing, I just might be able to make a pillbox hat.

We learned how to make a museum display board with manila folders. And a "quilt" for displaying pictures with baggies and duct tape.

Costume Lady said...

It's really raining cats and dogs here...I guess Palmer has to make his own shelter now. Don't see Mom or Dad. Poor baby:)

magpie said...

Shirley
sounds great....keep talking!
oh, a new mattress, I remember having one once upon a time...

You will love it, especially with the thoughts of all the children behind the idea

the sound of the rain at the nest...exotic....
not sure Palmer feels the same way about it though, ought to be some serious wing-flapping in the morning

Hello Evening People, think I missed a few, recognized the face plant on the keyboard by Judie...☺

magpie said...

How about those new ospreylets at Patuxent! Great news, Loretta

Mema Jo said...

Hello! We got home a little past nine.
It was hr and a half driving to Shippensburg from here. All I can say is that everything was just Awesome!
Only thing a bit hairy were the 2 candles for the mothers to light as they were under a vent - They got them going and later the bride/groom took them to light the larger unity candle and they did great! Yes it did rain a bit from the ceremony to the reception and Oh My almost forgot --
the 3 tiered cake started to slide and actually was cut by the bride/groom at the beginning. That was what went wrong - to warm where the cake table was.

My hair did great - without the tissue
At least I received a lot of compliments especially from the younger group. I will have pics but have to wait on some from one daughter. As we were leaving the funky music started playing. I could have stayed and watch bride/groom and friends dance the night away.

magpie said...

Wanda -
you could anything or nothing with your hair, and would still be stunning...
and I bet the Captain would agree !

magpie said...

Welcome home Jo! Great report, can't wait to hear more !

Boy, has it been raining hard! Satellite out, so missed most of race, and got a nap! I have two inches of water in the kennel, so it won't be fun trying to get the dog to go out. She doesn't like it any better underfoot than coming down on her! Silly old gal.

paula eagleholic said...

Lynne - you were talking about the video on your FB page? Cute!

hedgie said...

Good night to all turning in---sleep well. Margy, have a quiet shift---maybe rain will keep the loonies off the road!
Wanda, Duoderm works well!! I would ask pharmacist to only give you half of the prescription for now....make sure it's going to work; if it does, at 1 every 3 days, it won't take 60 days and you won't need that many. And if it doesn't, they won't wait 60 days to try something else!

Lolly said...

Hi all! Can you believe I have not been on all day?!!! Just got busy and never sat down! That's what happens when we eat breakfast on the patio.

LOVED the Hornby video. OMG when he swallowed that wiggling fish whole! Such a piggie!

Heard from Chrissy today and she told me she was sending you, Lynn, the long story. Bless her heart...it was exactly what we have been wanting to hear....the detailed story in Chrissy fashion!

Laughe at your two different colored shoes. That happened quite often at school, to me and others.

JO, at one of our nephews wedding Jack and I took turns supporting the wedding cake until it was cut. The baker left out one of the supports inside the cake!!!

Lolly said...

Did you read about Lily and Hope? Lily left Hope and went miles away. They looked for Hope but could not find her. She was not in the tree where Lily left her. They met up with Hope and she was full of milk, needing to nurse Hope. I am not ready for this!

hedgie said...

Glad you are safely in your roost, Jo. Sounds like you had a great day! Baker should have used straws to anchor the layers!!
At Christie's reception, Carolyn went into labor while she was serving the cake!
And for the mothers' candles, Shannon's mom, Julia, and I walked up to the altar holding hands, and then we hugged after we lit them. It was a nice touch.

hedgie said...

Tub time for me. Time to let this puter go to sleep. THink I will, too, as soon as I finish bath. Rain on the roof is a good lullaby. Goodnight my fine, fowl friends. Prayers for all.

hedgie said...

Hi, Lolly! Full day for you, huh? Yep, I was SO tickled to hear from Chrissy!! Really glad that two special Momsters got the chance to meet and bond in person!
Goodnight, Texas lady!

Lolly said...

Nite, Lynn! Yes, a busy day...working in the yard. lol It is really looking good and I am enjoying it so much. My larkspur is in bloom....my favorite! The caladiums, Jack's favorite, are coming up. Such a beautiful time of year.

Lolly said...

We grow fennel, not for cooking, but for a certain caterpillar that turns into a beautiful black and blue butterfly. Well, the plants are almost gone. On one plant alone I counted approx 36 caterpillars!!! Took pictures!

Costume Lady said...

Thanks, Lynn, for the reassurance of the bandage in question. Never heard of them before GG hurt her leg. They put one on at the hospital, but took it off before they sent her home??

GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS
PRAYERS FOR ALL

Lolly said...

Oh, and our hawks flew today! This week they have been on the ground and low in the trees, but now they are flying everywhere. Our neighbors with the two young daughters really got into it! Now Todd wants to watch eagles. lol

I am going to miss the hawks, as every morning they have really been calling out.

Costume Lady said...

Oh, Lolly, Megan told us last year about growing Fennell and having so many caterpillars on it. Can't remember which kind she said.
I forgot...was going to plant some:(

Lolly said...

I'll look it up. Last year Jack followed a caterpillar when it left the plant. It traveled about 20 feet to a bush. Climbed up and make a chrysalis on a shrub. It was there for a day or two then disappeared.

Lolly said...

Pipevine Swallowtail...it is beautiful. It also eats parsley but prefers fennel.

Lolly said...

Well the fennel is almost gone, do not know what the caterpillars will do then.

Ok, time for bed. Was up late last night.

Sweet dreams everyone!

Lynne2 said...

Finished watching Brothers and Sisters. OMG!!!!

Lolly, I read the info about Hope. So disturbing. Anxiously awaiting the next update.
