Just checked in on the Connecticut Osprey, still just one chick, doesn't look like the other eggs are gonna hatch....she had 4 eggs...and only one chick....we should feel very fortunate....
GOOD MORNING, BIRDLOVERS, I checked out the live feed just now, but the only thing moving was an eagle feather...or was it? Turned out to be a small bird taking a rest or checking for food.
That brings me to the question ... do small birds use any part of an eagles nest to raise their own broods? They could easily nest in lower parts of the big nest, and I bet the eagles wouldn't bother them.
I can't get into YAHOO either, I voted yesterday. Today is deadline day, but just vote on here. Don't know why it would not let me sign in, it had my name there.
The wind is whispering at the nest and I keep thinking that the Real Player froze...then suddenly the yellow leaf moves a wee wee bit...it's driving me CRAZY! I prefer windier weather although...
In Windy Weather Witches Shouldn't Wear Wigs (thanks to Sesame Street)
I saw that little bird checking out the nest. I think the little bird should be VERY careful cause big eagles and littler eaglets could easily snack on said bird. It's not likely that "little bird" and "bigger bird" will get along too well. kinda like a pet ferret "playing" with a fuzzy yellow chick....GULP-all gone!
Jim: When we were visiting the Sycamore tree, some pigeons flew right by the tree over to the barn..Steve W. said that they were taking a big chance as the eagles will snatch them in mid-air for a meal. So, that little black bird we saw better leave the nest area! Geula I sure like that info about Windy Weather Witches.....LOL
Thank You people that have a yahoo email address's letting me know you can't get into you mail or the Momster Yahoo group page.....I thought I was all alone again....
When I was watching the Canadian eaglets yesterday, a sparrow landed in the nest and one of the eaglets chased it out. He wasn't very graceful, tripped on to his beak when he did it.
Too Quick! Really soared upward on takeoff. These kids are fast learners. I hope Mom & Dad bring in lunch & all 3 make an appearance. It's about their lunch time.
I was just thinking about their first fledges, how they sat and bobbed those heads, teetered back and forth trying to get the nerve up. Now it looks like it is without a thought.
Did anybody else have an eaglet just appear out of the blue onto the screen! Cool. Camera looks like it is trying to freeze up!
Well, for sure it is MsInbetween with the food. Could it really be BigBoy?? quit that fighting - share! Really must be hungry- It Is BigBoy? What do you think, Sharon & everyone???
Too many white feathers for MsInbetween Sharon, you're correct..........BigBoy without any food & our own little Spunky feasting away............. Who has taken pic for Glo?
Man, they are going to kill each other over their food. Now boys, calm down!! That was true mantling just don't know what he was mantling. Mom, Dad - we need a couple more fish here please!!
OK, 11:47 and all three kids are home for lunch. Looks like Spunky is finished eating and is up top, and BigBoy in the middle and Ms InBetween with her back to the camera. Last one in circled the nest from the right, counterclockwise and into the nest from the left. Nice neat landing!
I just got a great shot on Fraps of one flying by the nest and then coming back around and landing. It was beautiful. I am going to say the last one in was Ms. InBetween.
You know what - I really don't care who it is - just as long as they stay awhile longer - I think they are getting hot even though there is a breeze. Restless - Here I go! Maybe.Nope, I need the rest....
wow, something just caught its attention. and while I was writing, off it goes. now I've got to learn how to type and look at the screen instead of my fingers.
UM, a long long long time ago, at a chat I used to go to, if a person wrote 3 messages in a row, she was supposed to write a SHEM, a SHE motto or saying. For old times sake I shall do just that:
A monkey that can't dance says that the floor slopes!
Well, being a SHE (Sidetracked Home Executive) I've got lots of mottos! You can do ANYTHING for 15 minutes...your timer is your best friend... But my FAVORITE is: It's time for a Nap Challenge! I do that one best...
and my very last saying for t'day is...
An ugly offspring looks like a gizelle (sp) to it's mother!
Hey, I hear the jackals calling from out in the field...they come out of their dens after nightfall and call to each other and reform a big pack.
He is grabbing at it with his talons, trying to eat it...it might be a turtle, not sure...keeps looking around, like for Mom to come help him...Actually looks like 2 of the food item in the nest
Whatever the kid is eating sure must be tasty! I wish he would step away for just a moment so we could get a better look. Doesn't that BigBoy know we have to see what he brought?
He is working hard on that turtle. Pretty sure that is what it is, Barbara in Maine!! It has proved to be quite the challenge for him but he is conquering it or so it seems!
Well, I"M back......I was at a friends house and I posted from there. "eaglet"is still tucking in...did a parent bring it or did he? I saw the parent in the nest for a minute.....it could have been a drop off meal
I've been very lucky today to see al that action in the nest. BTW, the jackals are real...I live in Israel, on a communal farm and the jackals have been part of the landscape for as long as I can remember. There was a time that they were culled, but the bad things that happened to the environment made the nature people reconsider. They pretty much stay out of the way of civilization (as in wandering around farms and such). The only place that we see them inside the farm area is near the dairy, but it's not a problem because the cows all have had rabies shots.

Jo, could very well have been Big Boy
Quick in and out!
Too Quick! Really soared upward on takeoff. These kids are fast learners. I hope Mom & Dad bring in lunch & all 3 make an appearance. It's about their lunch time.

Okay, Jo, in your expert opinion, who are these two? Man, you can't just run your momma out like that!!
11:32 a.m. I think it is Spunky and BigBoy, with BigBoy eating right now of course.
Looks like Ms Inbetween with the food and Big Boy watching
You're right, I've changed my mine!
Spunky!
Big Boy!
My cam right now is changing at 10 second intervals. Never mind, it stopped freezing.
LOOKS LIKE SPUNKY EATING, STILL ALOT OF WHITE FEATHERS.
OH OH!! FIGHTING AND MANTELING!!
I agree Big Boy and Spunky. Too much white for inbetween.
Holy Toledo!!! What was that all about? BigBoy getting anxious. He best go out & fish for his own.
Live feed - don't do that fading out stuff!
That Spunky has spunk!!!!!
Man, they are going to kill each other over their food. Now boys, calm down!! That was true mantling just don't know what he was mantling. Mom, Dad - we need a couple more fish here please!!
Spunky says "I ain't taking no crap from you two anymore, this is mine!!!"
And then there were three!!!!
Hail, Hail, the gangs all here!!
He's not Letting Ms InB have it either! You go, Spunky!
She just tried to steal it again!
Wow, guess he told her!
nice landing....

Sharon, I agree...
Camera messing up a bit. Spunky likes that breeze so he might be outtahere in a minute!
Is that not just an absolutely beautiful sight!!!!!
You go Spunky!!
I think right now it is BigBoy, Spunky and Ms. InBetween!
And off we go!
Looking like pro's now...
BigBoy playing pickup sticks... Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful
I can't believe how they can eat the whole thing & not leave any scraps.
Go Big Boy! Move that limb... Rebuild the launching pad!
Repairing the launch site????
I guess they really don't need it anymore, do they MITS? They are pros now with take off and landing.
Maybe this is todays' homework, learn how to repair nest???
Whoever is at 12 o'clock is either supervising the repair or just in class learning! No hands (or beaks) on for him today!
How sweet is that? Side by Side!!
Your right, Jo, but it sure is fun watching them do things.
Oh, now they are snuggling!!
Sharon - I think it is really BigBoy and Spunky....
They look tired!!
You know what - I really don't care who it is - just as long as they stay awhile longer - I think they are getting hot even though there is a breeze. Restless - Here I go! Maybe.Nope, I need the rest....
I love it when they flake out like that!
Someone is going to need a little SPF15..
Too funny Mits!!
AAAHHH! Now I have room to sprawl!
Sharon , thanks for the info this a.m., now I can watch the eagles and my "beloved" pand cub, Tai Shan at the same time!!!! I'm happy as a clam!!
hi! so much for my theory that the eaglets come in more during the cooler hours...finally I see somebody in the nest!
Mits, you are so very welcome!!
MITS: When a clam is happy - is that when it spits? LOL
I'm SOOOOOOO glad I don't have the link to the panda cam! I'd never eat, sleep or work!
geula, I was just thinking about you and doing the time difference in my head and hoping you would stop by and see someone in the nest.
12:42pm Empty nest - beautiful take off.
wow, something just caught its attention. and while I was writing, off it goes. now I've got to learn how to type and look at the screen instead of my fingers.
clams spit? LLamas and camels spit and maybe alpacas too (same family)
oooooops MT Nest again!
I'm going crazy here! Each time the eaglets fly away I've turned my head for a second and missed it. Back to an empty nest. :(
:):):):):) Yes, Jo, I think so....going to get the windex for the computer screen now.
geula, Welcome to my world, but I usually find time to eat.
On the 14th, when DSpunky fledged I missed it because I went to get a cuppa coffee. Silly me...
Actually, mits, the only thing I never forget to do is EAT!
Do you people realize that it's already a whole week since we've had an official "empty nest"? How time flies! and how eagles fly...
UM, a long long long time ago, at a chat I used to go to, if a person wrote 3 messages in a row, she was supposed to write a SHEM, a SHE motto or saying. For old times sake I shall do just that:
A monkey that can't dance says that the floor slopes!
Geula, I so much enjoy all your remarks. I have to go to the loo - be back - don't anyone sign off while I am gone..................... LOL
Jo, did everything come out alright at the loo? Hope so and welcome back!
Okay, ladies, I am trying to work here. Can't stay away from the blog even when there is an MT nest!
Haha, MT stands for medical transcription too, Geula! WE would like to have more quotes or mottos please!
Well, being a SHE (Sidetracked Home Executive) I've got lots of mottos! You can do ANYTHING for 15 minutes...your timer is your best friend... But my FAVORITE is: It's time for a Nap Challenge! I do that one best...

Geula,
Was that a quote or for real...about the jackals?
I think the jackal thing was for real. I am glad I live in Bluefield!!
Jo, are you back from the loo yet?
1:45 p.m. Parent in, eaglet in, parent out! Don't think any food came in though!
Camera is messing up.
Action in the old nest again......
Mom was there 2 but the kid ran her off. Poor mom...
Eagle back in the nest!
Looks like Big Boy, guess he had to go out and catch his own fish!
Sounds like Mom brought the lunch...
Looks to be something with fur, it's not a fish
Jackals, Geula, where do you live??
Mom! I need some help with this!
He is grabbing at it with his talons, trying to eat it...it might be a turtle, not sure...keeps looking around, like for Mom to come help him...Actually looks like 2 of the food item in the nest
Is that a mouse???
#%$@^&*%$~@# cam keeps freezing on me!!
Do you reckon it was the pigeon from earlier? Just might have gotten a little too close!! Definitely not a fish!!
Wondering if Flo and Joe (mom and dad) ever get hungry.
Hey, new names for the parents -
Glo and Joe!!
Cool! looks like he figured it out!
Definitely looks to be a turtle to me. A little bit of a challenge for him for sure.
A turtle, huh, ummm I think I see blood, hope he doesn't break his beak on the shell.
OOOOHHHH, Mits, did you have to say that?? LOL.
Okay now, Jo went to the loo and we haven't heard from her since. Hope she didn't fall in!!
Back in the fall, when they put the cam in, they found a bunch of turtle shells in the nest.
Well, thats' nature for you, I only see it when I put it to full screen mode.Speaking of nature, did Jo fall in.....
I bet they are a pretty easy catch. Can't run or swim too fast. Poor fellers, definitely at the bottom of this food chain!
And we wonder why the turtle is close to extinction.
Where is Jo? Where is Jo?LALALALA!
I am singing it witchya, Mits!!
Her last message was:
I have to go to the loo - be back - don't anyone sign off while I am gone..................... LOL
Wednesday, June 21, 2006 10:08:25 AM
Must be a long way to the"loo".
Maybe she went to Geula's loo!
Maybe!!!!! Gee, This like waiting for the eagles to land in the nest, like you always say, watching mold grow.
Maybe, the jackals got her:(:(:(
Oh, Mits. That would be so sad if the jackals got here. Where are you Jo?
Whatever the kid is eating sure must be tasty! I wish he would step away for just a moment so we could get a better look. Doesn't that BigBoy know we have to see what he brought?
He is working hard on that turtle. Pretty sure that is what it is, Barbara in Maine!! It has proved to be quite the challenge for him but he is conquering it or so it seems!
New thread is up, kids...
