9:20 am Good morning all, pretty cloudy and foggy around here today, lots of showers in the forecast for today. Hope our eaglets can find someplace to stay dry!
Sorry I missed the action earlier, but glad to hear there was some! Thanks for the commentary!
Glad someone else is here to comment been jumping back and forth to get "still" pics and comment. Paula who do you think is in nest now 9:53? Starting to pick at that fish I see.
Paula while watching him (I believe) eat the thought just hit me.."If all the building keeps up. Where will our Eagles and Eaglets hunt? Also where will they be able to build their nest? If trees is cut down for building things? This could happen in generations to come my daughters children or her grandchildens time. Eagles fighting for nesting places." They too need the rain to keep the river levels up for fish to move and breed.
Yep Paula it is. Sure is him that "eat the whole thing"..he still has the baby feathers around just above his feet. I always try to watch for those to tell. Although sometimes I don't get a chance to see the feathers there.
11:55 a.m. Still an empty nest. Don't have to take the long road trip today, just a short one. Will be out most of the afternoon. Jo, where are you? Baby yet?
Baby Girl is here! Sophia Kathryn 7lb 7oz We are all sooooooooooHappy Melissa was in the hospital room for less then 45 minutes! She's a natural & she is doing so very well. And so is the proud Dad! This little girl has 2 brothers-she'll give them a run for the money, I bet! The boys love the other little gals in our family & should be very good big brothers.
I already knew you were Mema Jo! Congratulations. Okay, I was wrong. I said a boy. There was a 50% chance I would be right though. What time was Sophia born? I am glad you learned to change your name on here!
Paula, I have opted not to even take the short trip. Going to stay around town today and do nothing. I worked really hard this morning and don't want to go anywhere! Thank God for options in life!
Going to Wal*Mart. Be back in a little while. Paula, keep good notes but might be quiet in the nest for a little while. Lots of activity this morning. Keep an eye out in the background. They were busy out there this morning!
JO----I am so VERY HAPPY for you all----I hoped it would be a girl----she will have everyone "eating out of her hand" from Day 1----I think girls are easy--I have 3----I bet she will be another little "Spunky"----CONGRATULATIONS-----MUCH LOVE TO BIG BROTHERS---
wvagal-vicky----Oh I am ready to fight that BATTLE---destroying all our wooded areas---polluting our streams----(ALL IN NAME OF PROGRESS)---now they are wanting to sell parts of a national forests------Our co. (Hampshire) is becoming one big housing development-----
Looks like (as I rewind live feed) that one came back to the nest - Resting in the middle of the nest - I can't guess who it is... Only stayed for awhile - just taking a break - At fight from Launching pad it does look like BigBoy. 1:13pm now an empty nest.
1:20pm Adult in nest with 1 eaglet mantling ofer the fish of the day. Looks like he isn't too hungry or is more concerned who is going to fly in and try to steal the food.
There was an adult who brought in the food...The shell wva Vicky wants me to get is still there inbetween the 2 sticks at 5:00 nest position. All the others look to be gone - at the bottom of the tree....... LOL
Is someone coming in? Don't see any flying in the background like Sharon did...That would be cool...Yep! Food Fight! Can't see who has it now.. I think... Come on move over - Yep! New one in nest got the fish!
Yep! I think that it is MsInbetween who stole the fish...... That very well could be BigBoy - he isn't very agressive - That's why I think that Spunky & MsInbetween are females...
Yes, Paula. The more you watch, the more you can read them like a book. Do you think that it is Spunky lying in wait rather then BigBoy? I can only be certain when all 3 are there.
Now they are just about side by side, facing the tree trunk and slightly under, might have got a couple of scraps, Ms Inbetween still eating, other one walking back away now, then over on other side, at launch pad....
eyeing Ms I's fish, moving closer...trying to get some scraps
1:48pm OK! You've had that fish long enough - My turn to steal it... reaching under his sibling - Time to Share... reaching - nothing yet...Don't give up.... I think it is BigBoy - get in there & get it boy... Nope! backing off..but still watching for a chance... going to center of nest..maybe attacking from other side..here he comes in behind ..This is so funny.. coming up along side..looking out over nest..sneak tactic..Whole things going to be gone before too long..best make a move ole' boy..This is frustrating for me as well as for BigBoy....MsInbetween still chomping away.......... This is too long..
Thanks eaglemoms... Baby & Mom up at Washington County-Hagerstown. You two really do take good notes.. I can now relax. BigBoy is never going to get along in life if he just doesn't Do It!
Norma: You're so right! Brothers get gifts also. Their parents have all kinds of Thomas' trains waiting for their boys. DO IT NOW! I think he got some.
I am back from Wal*Mart. You all posted 40-some posts while I was gone. Very good. Jo, that play-by-play was awesome. I felt like I was there. I will send you a copy of the Fraps I took of the angels in the outfield. It was really cool seeing them away from the nest.
Welcome back, Sharon. When we get nest activity now - it really gets awesome! These feedings are something else. When the adult did come-stayed right on the edge of the nest near the cam... Pretty smart bird! I am awaiting a call from the hospital to tell me to come on up & hold that new little girl. Will keep you posted if I leave....
3:11 p.m. Report - nest is still MT, except of course for sticks and carcasses.
Do you guys remember way back when when the nest was grassy and soft looking. Now it looks like it has a dirt floor! Amazing how things change but when you watch it every day you never notice it.
I took time away to watch the movies...WOW....they are something else! I really enjoyed them..Sharon, you are really getting some good ones! I hope they get placed on GLO's Momster site when she gets back - everyone needs to see your handy work!
What the heck are you hooked on watching now? Where are they? What are they? educate me..........
I was looking at the nest this morning and I wouldn't want to sleep there...Really a mess... Maybe they won't clean it up till next season before the new hatch comes.
Sharon, That is one of the neat things about the cam, that you can outside the nest also. I've seen one fly around and then land in the nest...it's a pretty neat sight.
I was the first one to vote! We have 51 members and only 35 have voted. GET OUT AND VOTE. Your vote counts!!
I think the miracle of the survival of all three eaglets should be broadcast nationally - Good 4th of July stoy. However,, I would not recommend broadcasting where to view them. We could just give them pictures we have taken. Don't want them crashing our server! LOL. Who do we need to talk to about that?
I have a baby house finch right outside my window just raising cane! They are so precious! I love baby birds! Could anybody have guessed that?
TTFN to you to...since I don't know what it stands for...I am really not with it today..Just waiting for that phone call to say, "come on up-Mema & see this new baby girl" Sophia Kathryn is her name - but I may have already told you all that.. 9:42am was the birthing time.. about 45 minutes after Momma & Poppa entered the hospital room - She had MidWife Donna with her....... My gal is a natural!
I will be leaving home around 4:45pm to attend Church service - then out to eat with family until 7:00pm or so. Hopefully I will also be taking a trip to hospital after dinner. Paula you're the commentator until Sharon finishes her nap - if you are available. Others should be joining soon to help out. Lol MemaJo
Your welcome Paula. Thanks for giving Jo the info on TTFN!
It is raining really hard in Bluefield. I hear a rufous-sided towhee out here tweeting! I had 2 towhee babies on my roof today. Love it! Now I have a very wet Daddy Towhee on my roof just eating and chirping away. It looks like rain is heading to the NCTC nest in little bit.
I have to go out for a little while. Somebody keep good notes. Would love to see an eaglet before I leave!
Back from hiking along the AT. Saw some beautiful birds soaring at Black Rock, but they weren't our eagles/eaglets.
Congratulations Jo! So happy to know all went so smoothly and a baby sister for the big brothers to hug and love - WONDERFUL!!! You'll have to post some pictures of the 'oldest big and new big brothers' as well as one of the little princess when you can.
Oh yeah forgot to report... empty AKA MT nest for now
Hope everyone has had a good day. Rains are holding off again. We need all the rain we can get.... come on nice gentle soaking showers... might have our eagle family spending more time 'indoors', too (at/around the nest)
Hi Everyone! Just got back from kayaking, and dinner in Frederick. We kayaked at Point of Rocks, and talked to another couple who said they saw a Bald Eagle! Naturally, we had gone the other way, and only saw a few herons. I still want to take a bike ride near Shepherdstown. Maybe tomorrow! We haven't had any rain yet in H-town.
Looking around like they are waiting for more food or more company. Looks like a take-off and there he/she goes, one left in the nest at 7:22p.m. I'm off to eat some dinner, myself.
JanetM, yes, I think it's a turtle shell. I was at NCTC last night, and got a pretty good look and the TV they have set up inside. THere's also a turtle shell at about 1:00.
I am back. See 1 in the nest. Thanks for the reports guys. I am going to be working so I will be on and off (probably more on than off). The one in the nest is looking up at something. Must be a sibling nearby!
Evening, folks, I am looking at what I believe to be Mr. Spunky checking out the surroundings from the take off area...he does look a lot bigger now, I mistook him for the Big Gal for a minute.
Anyway, I hope you are having a fun weekend, and I want to tell you there is a new "thread."
7:53 p.m. Poop shoot at 11 o'clock. Jo, I knew you needed to know this. Not sure who it is in the nest right now though. And now they are gone. Looks like it might be starting to rain but not sure.

Again Good Morning Sharon, on this new page.
Live feed is up, and the still cam is working, it's a great day!
Thanks for the new thread, Steven!
Good morning Paula in Eagleland
Mornin WV Gal!
Cam news:
Harrrisburg falcon ledge empty
Washington state - 3 osprey looking good
NU eagles looking pretty soggy!
2 parents in the nest!
One brought fish, now baby just flew in, he knew this time to "STEP AWAY FROM THE FISH", lest he get knocked out of the nest, then parent took off!
1 eaglet in the nest, looks to be Ms Inbetween...or Big Boy....or Spunky....
Really hard to tell them apart when only one is in the nest!
Was checking around for a couple of minutes before starting to eat, think he wanted to make sure it was all his!
Now eating!
Glad someone else is here to comment been jumping back and forth to get "still" pics and comment.
Paula who do you think is in nest now 9:53? Starting to pick at that fish I see.
eating cautiously, looking around alot
Eats alittle then looks around like one of the other eaglets is out there and might come in to take it away.
I think it might be Big Boy
Seems like an eaglet is perched nearby, keeps looking to the right
Now eating pretty good, threat must be gone
They are going to have to adapt, get used to more people, to be able to stay near the water, even if there are people there
Still eating
I dunno, might be Spunky...
Paula while watching him (I believe) eat the thought just hit me.."If all the building keeps up. Where will our Eagles and Eaglets hunt? Also where will they be able to build their nest? If trees is cut down for building things? This could happen in generations to come my daughters children or her grandchildens time. Eagles fighting for nesting places."
They too need the rain to keep the river levels up for fish to move and breed.
Wow I can't believe I got to eat that "whole" fish...and no one bother me.
Had a visitor for a moment, then other eaglet took off, guess he realized the fish was gone!
10:19 I got company ha ha I at the whole thing. Nothing for you to steal... ha ha ha
Or just about gone, and there wasn't any chance of gettin any
10:20 "Ok I'm out of here if you didn't save me any or if there is nothing to steal."
OY! every few minutes my cable connections goes bye bye...it happens a lot on Saturday, when the server does all kinds of repairs...
Yup, it's Spunkster!
Do you see the turtle shell in there anymore?
Yep Paula it is.
Sure is him that "eat the whole thing"..he still has the baby feathers around just above his feet. I always try to watch for those to tell. Although sometimes I don't get a chance to see the feathers there.
To me, he has a lighter beak, plus the little white shoulder feathers, and more white on his sides behind the legs
He's just hanging at the launch pad now
10:34 Spunky took off from launch pad.
Well he fooled us ha ha on us he didn't take off. He went over by the tree truck and hide in that special spot.
yup, still hangin'
Moved to the 12 oclock position now
And we're outta here!
Back to the empty nest....
Ok, back to work for now!
Well hope someone else is here to comment on nest. I have to go be back later. Take good notes.
11:48 am, still an empty nest
11:55 a.m. Still an empty nest. Don't have to take the long road trip today, just a short one. Will be out most of the afternoon. Jo, where are you? Baby yet?

Congrats! to Jo, on new grandbaby!
Good for you Sharon...now I hope you're not working~!
I know, you said you weren't....
Going to Wal*Mart. Be back in a little while. Paula, keep good notes but might be quiet in the nest for a little while. Lots of activity this morning. Keep an eye out in the background. They were busy out there this morning!
Congrats, Gramma Jo!

Someone is back with a fish!
1:20pm Adult in nest with 1 eaglet mantling ofer the fish of the day. Looks like he isn't too hungry or is more concerned who is going to fly in and try to steal the food.
I didn't get to see the adult, looked up and eaglet was mantling fish
Now eating fish!
Sounds like the turtles got the message! (Scoot, or you will be eagle lunch!)
I don't see your shell in the nest, Jo
Could that be Spunky??? That means she/he can hunt & get food---??? EXCITING---
Looks like it could be Spunky again, but I think the adult brought in the food, according to Jo
There was an adult who brought in the food...The shell wva Vicky wants me to get is still there inbetween the 2 sticks at 5:00 nest position. All the others look to be gone - at the bottom of the tree....... LOL
food fight
I thought that was leaves there, Jo
Is someone coming in? Don't see any flying in the background like Sharon did...That would be cool...Yep! Food Fight! Can't see who has it now.. I think... Come on move over - Yep! New one in nest got the fish!
Intruder stole the lunch,
Think it is the Ms that stole the fish
Wish I could correctly guess who the 2 are in the nest.... I best take a pic on the still cam... That fish is large enough for 2........
Jo, but you could tell there was something around by the intense watching
Yep! I think that it is MsInbetween who stole the fish...... That very well could be BigBoy - he isn't very agressive - That's why I think that Spunky & MsInbetween are females...
1 eating, 1 laying down watching
Yes, Paula. The more you watch, the more you can read them like a book.
Do you think that it is Spunky lying in wait rather then BigBoy? I can only be certain when all 3 are there.
Paula - I am having a very hard time keeping my eyes on the birds!!!
Thinking about going out & buying something PINK.
Might be looking for a steal, or maybe a bite?
Don't blame ya there Jo! Is she at FMH?
Awww, go shopping! We'll take notes! Not raining now!
Now they are just about side by side, facing the tree trunk and slightly under, might have got a couple of scraps, Ms Inbetween still eating, other one walking back away now, then over on other side, at launch pad....
eyeing Ms I's fish, moving closer...trying to get some scraps
Jo, you may be right, that might be Big Boy...as they are side by side, definitely darker and smaller....
Big boy now picking at scraps from this morning, then back over to launch pad, eyeing Ms I's fish again
JO----go shopping---remember you must buy something for the brothers----that's how that works--
ENJOY---
1:48pm OK! You've had that fish long enough - My turn to steal it... reaching under his sibling - Time to Share... reaching - nothing yet...Don't give up.... I think it is BigBoy - get in there & get it boy... DO IT NOW! I think he got some.
FINALLY BIGBOY GOT A STEAL
Thanks for the notes, Jo...glad Big boy stole some back, there was enough...was a big fish!
No rain yet today, cloudy tho.
Sun is peeking out here and there...
Jo, I saw your shell, it's at 9 oclock
They are both eating something that Big Boy drug over from around that area
2:10, one gone, then two gone, back to empty nest
Hey, Paula... That is my shell.. The other one I spoke of isn't there...
Thanx for the good coverage of the take offs. MT NEST as Geula would say...
I am back from Wal*Mart. You all posted 40-some posts while I was gone. Very good. Jo, that play-by-play was awesome. I felt like I was there. I will send you a copy of the Fraps I took of the angels in the outfield. It was really cool seeing them away from the nest.

Mema, you've got mail!
We miss you Glo!! Hope you are having a mahvelous time!!
Jo's turtle shells are probably laying at the bottom of the tree embedded in a lot of poop shoot material!! YUCK!
3pm - Nest report - empty!
3:11 p.m. Report - nest is still MT, except of course for sticks and carcasses.
Do you guys remember way back when when the nest was grassy and soft looking. Now it looks like it has a dirt floor! Amazing how things change but when you watch it every day you never notice it.
I am hooked now on watching the periphery since I saw them flying around out there this morning.
Am I by myself?
I took time away to watch the movies...WOW....they are something else! I really enjoyed them..Sharon, you are really getting some good ones! I hope they get placed on GLO's Momster site when she gets back - everyone needs to see your handy work!
What the heck are you hooked on watching now? Where are they? What are they? educate me..........
I was looking at the nest this morning and I wouldn't want to sleep there...Really a mess... Maybe they won't clean it up till next season before the new hatch comes.
Angie where are you?
I either see a butterfly close to the nest or the eaglets flying near the nest. Nope, small bird in the nest. 3 f them. Not a good place to be guys.
I was looking over the poll - More votes need to be cast - Almost have one with enough % to be the winner....Liberty & Belle..........
Just around the edges of the nest - out in the trees where they hang out sometimes.
Dictionary.com -
Periphery - The outermost part or region within a precise boundary.
Gotcha! Thanx
Sharon,
That is one of the neat things about the cam, that you can outside the nest also.
Paula, you've got mail.
I just use $100 words sometimes to impress all my friends in blogland! LOL.
Since watching the periphery is making me go blind, I think I am going to go take a nap, after I go to the loo! TTFN!

Oh, I almost forgot - 4:53 p.m. MT Nest!
5:02pm MT nest!
Outta here for a little while....
I wish we had a zoom on here. What is that black thing laying at about between 4 and 5 o'clock towards the center of the nest?
I guess we are outtahere! Maybe we are getting a little diversion in our life. Did you hear that Steve?
Hi all,
Back from hiking along the AT. Saw some beautiful birds soaring at Black Rock, but they weren't our eagles/eaglets.
