A Diversion
I know that we talk eagles here, but I just saw this astonishing photograph on the Patagonia Website and had to share it. Please indulge me.
The photo caption reads:
A school of salema cut a wide berth for a Galapagos sea lion. Cousins Rock, Galapagos Islands, Equador. Photo: David Doubilet
Seeing our eagles are fledging , maybe need to get a little wildlife variety going here...

That's a beautiful picture, Steve. Almost thought I was on the wrong page when it popped up. Thanks for a little diversion.
AWESOME!!!! Remember that was under the direction of MOTHER NATURE-----We mortals can't compete with that------as my "grandkids" would say---That is WAY COOL-----Thanks
good ole mom got spunk to eat....
Very nice picture. Beautiful actually. I enjoy the sea creatures too.
but you bet norma it was also wonderful to see Spunky eat something!!!
I finally got to see one of the fledglings take flight (6:47 pm). It was awesome! Poor Spunkster looked like he really wanted to follow after him. Mom is indeed patiently feeding her distracted youngest one. Loved the picture of the seal framed by fleeing fish. Nature is glorious, isn't it?
IS THAT SPUNKY EATING?
Yes, Spunky is eating, but I'm getting really concerned about him tonight, he looks kind of listless, maybe its pre-flight jitters.
Awesome picture, Steve! Thanks.
i was out for about an hour - Steve, it's a fantastic pic - so cool and refreshing looking - like you can pull yourself right into it AND THEN GO RIGHT BACK TO THE EAGLE'S NEST........The distraction didn't last too long - but was a good idea.
I always do solitaire for calming my emotions. Looks like a lonely little eaglet - hope they come back to spend the night - I don't like them out there on foreign branches throughout the nightime. TOMORROW!! FLAG DAY !!! Yahoo!!!
HOPE HE'S OK..MAYBE HE'S JUST DOWN BECAUSE EVERYONE LEFT. I'VE HAD TO LEAVE FOR WORK AND MISSED MOST OF THE DAY ACTIVITY...SPUNKY HAS BEEN EATING, RIGHT? THATS BEEN MY BIGGEST WORRY.
NEW PAGE POSTED WITH OUR VERY OWN SPUNKY !!!
Spunk looks better since he has eaten....No night time flying, Spunk.
Hey Glo----I agree--NOTHING can compare to the EAGLES-----I thought the Patagonia picture looked like the swimming scenes from the old Esther Williams movies---you are probably too young to have seen one----Do you think Spunky might be a girl??? They all treat her like their "baby sister"---and she seems to be an independent thinker----She is WOMAN---hear her ROAR------
Hi Gang, Had a wonderful time at Hershey yesterday. Steve the picture is beautiful i watch the Discovery channel alot and they show that alot. Only see Spunky in the nest right now. I just know he is waitng for my birthday July 1st to fledge for my present..lol Jo im working 9 am til 10 pm tomarrow will be here alot. Niter's Ya'll , Nilla
Steve, that picture is absolutely beautiful. Maybe we could get a picture of all the birds parting the sky when our little Spunkster takes flight!!
Nilla, if he waits until July 1st to fledge, I will not have a job anymore, will probably be institutionalized and doing the thorazine shuffle! Don't think I could take 2 more weeks of this.
