3:34pm Jo-MD Don't mean to get emotional, but MAN! Look at our babies! I am putting them in an album immediately. Mother Nature has been so good to us in witnessing this from eggs to eaglets-a lot of meaningful things have taken place over the last few months- a lot of lessons to be learned! Thank you MUCH NCTC & Steve and all your co-workers!
3:53pm Jo-MD Looks as though MsInbetween didn't get a handle on it as the adult eagle now has it. But she is back to try again. BigBoy & Spunky look baffled & don't want to try to get some just yet.
These are great. Thanks so much. I watch these eaglets as they are looking out at the world around them. They have been in that one little space for a long time and have no idea but the world holds for them. They will soon find out and I pray for God to watch over them and keep them safe. They have a lot of people pulling and praying for them. I have a deep gratitude to NCTC for affording this opportunity to us and to my friend Ozzie for giving me this link back at the beginning of March. This has been such a great opportunity for all of us to share in Mother Nature's work.
Hi Gang, I am back after being off yesterday and checking in on the kids, sad to say the cam is down again? The pictures of the nest and eagles are absolutly beautiful. I had a thought that maybe Steve could arrange for us local's who have been watching since eggs, he could arrange to have us meet over there and give us a tour of sort's near the nest?? Just a thought i had driving back from the NCTC the other evening. How about it Steve think its possible????
5:34pm Jo-MD Nilla, remember that on the 31st, Steve mentioned the lecture & that we could get a good view of the nest? It was scheduled for Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 7:00 pm--Maybe Steve could meet us around 6pm????
Tha sound's great Jo, hope the idea takes off with many attending. But what worries me is not everyone can get into the center. I couldnt get any further than the front gate, and talked to the guard who was very nice and left me park there and get out and look thru my binoculars at the tree and nest. Maybe on that night special permission could be made for us eagle watcher's? Any more idea's? I hope Steve relizes how important this would be to us Mom's..LMAO
6:10pm Jo-MD Maybe Steve could actually meet us at the gate that evening if he were free. Not really sure how close we could get to the Sycamore Tree. But by next Thursday, one or two of the eaglets could be perching out on the branches.
I'm sorry I can't pull it off Thursday, but could do it during the day on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday morning. My colleague Mark M. will be there thursday night. If you would like to try to do it on the days I'm there next week, let me know.
6:17pm Jo-MD Anyone good for Monday afternoon ? If we have too much trouble getting it together, I would suggest that individually we contact Steve & meet up with him now that we know when he is available. Steve: Could you do a few one-on-ones?
Thanks Steve Friday works for me im off work that day. How about Ya'll??? Good for you? That would make it June 9th, so plenty of time to make plans. Ok lets plan for this "MOM & DAD" meeting.
6:30pm Jo-MD Can't do Friday, but suggest that you go ahead, Nilla and make your plans. I'll see what I can do for Monday. I wish Bluefield wasn't so far away :( OK! Has anyone seen MsInbetween within the past half hour? I really can't see any feathers moving under the cam; however, the other day when I couldn't find her - Whamo! out stretched this wing & startled me to the point that I reared back! So, she must have a lot of room under the cam on the nest to hide.
Thinking about it i can make it any day convienent for everyone. I will just have an employee change day with me and work. No Problem, just need some advance notice. Jo im coming from Martinsburg, about 20 minute drive for me. Sunny you in on this? Where you coming from?
6:51pm Jo-MD Nilla, on Monday I do have an appointment 12-1:00. I think I need about 40 mins.; therefore, I would arrive early afternoon hour = hopefully for their somewhat regular feeding around 2:30pm. What kind of problem does this cause for anyone else? Our faithful Sharon is from Bluefield & she said it was 8 hrs away :( :( :(
No problem for me Jo, just need to find out about everyone else. Also let Steve make his decision on a time. I sure wish Sharon could make it.. sad Paula & Lisa how about you making it? Everyone wishing to get together to meet Steve and have a close up look at "OUR" kids? Just leave word here, one thing be sure to bring binocular's, as dont know how close we can get..lol I am soooooooo xcited!!!!
Great like she said the more the merrier..lol We just had some terrible rain and the kids are drenched from the looks of them in the nest. Looks like if Steve can handle us "MOM'S" we can make it monday,( just kiddin we all know we must be quiet and careful) but up to him when he is available.
OK So i will send you all my flight info and you can stop by the airport to get me to. I have invested in a new tower for my computer so am finally up and running again. I live in IL so I must fly on over. I will be bringing "fillet of fish, extra water, and wind proof umbrellas.
Well Ok I guess I will have to count on someone sending good notes and taking lots of pictures. Will ya please and Thanks. Glo
Has anyone watched this Canadian eagle nest? It's up-close and personal, and has sound. The tree is swaying in the wind, now! http://www.infotecbusinesssystems.com/wildlife/
So now there is 5 of us locals who can make it over to NCTC on monday. Hope more joins in and leaves notes they can also make it. Steve were off to a good start with Eagle watchers wanting to come. I am off work tomarrow (SATURDAY) but will check in from time to time and be here working on Sunday. Have agreat weekend everyone, Nilla PS Yes Sunny i have been watching it also, along with the falcons in Harrisburg, who are growing and giving me heart attacks out on that ledge..lol
10:11 p.m. I can't believe you all are going to get to see our nest and I can't. I am sooo envious. Anyway, like Glo, take lots of pictures and good notes. Let us know. This is going to be really cool. I have been in and out all day so I have not got to see much today. Maybe tomorrow. We will hopefully get the live feed tomorrow? Steve?
5:43am Jo-MD Just checked in for a second - Live feed still down. The cam is up! All 3 eaglets are hopping around the nest - I am sure they are looking for breakfast. Hope they can dry out today.
7:10 a.m. Thank you for that Jo. Breakfast just arrived for these wet babies. Both parents are in the nest so I am figuring Daddy brought it and now Mommy is feeding them.
Wish I could make it on Monday, but my son is graduating on Wednesday, so I can't take any more time off next week....am thinking about the lecture on Thursday though...

7:30 a.m. Ms. InBetween still appears to be enjoying breakfast. They all look so wet.
Looks like Mom has arrived with more breakfast...sure wish the live feed was up
Wish I could make it on Monday, but my son is graduating on Wednesday, so I can't take any more time off next week....am thinking about the lecture on Thursday though...

Big Boy/Gal is 11 weeks old today. Happy birthday!!
Ok. How about 10:00 AM on Monday. We'll go out with a spotting scope and take a look.
Steven, please know that I will be with you guys in spirit. Sure do wish I lived closer.
What about the live feed?
Live feed is down on the weekend, although they will sometimes just leave it on. It looks locked up, unfortunately.
Thanks Steve. A girl can hope, though!!
