I just looked for my Sutton link in OK in My Faves & couldn't find it. So, went on Beakspeak & now Sutton has 3 cams. One at top is someplace north of Stillwater & then below are the 2 for the Lake. The right cam is knocked out of wack--nest would be on right.
And one of those two eagles at BWO is chowing down....
I am interested about this, did send Lisa some pictures of it
Gotta shake a leg
Best wishes for Ed's Birthday Celebration...when is Ed's Birthday ?? I remember thinking it was Jan 13 last year when we went to Conowingo..met Jo and Ed in Frederick and sang Happy Birthday to him then! No wonder he looked so surprised, we were way early on our song ! ☺
Yes, we have a lot of eagles at the refuge now, so we might occasionally get new birds on the platform, especially if our Eagle Cam parents are busy elsewhere
There was a parent switch at Lake Jordan...parent had some lunch, now feeding little ones again. Feed really choppy today, but did catch a couple of good looks at the chicks, they are looking good!
guess if I read the Blackwater News more often I would have understood more about all the different eagles ...just never saw what I saw today, before now...
Oh ho, Margy, do you think that the Lord has himself 2 Ladies???? That two-timer, but what a guy!! If true, and there is another nest with more eggs, he is going to be one exhausted dad!!!
Dana, Russ takes her back to Dr. tomorrow. Don't know if Derick will go or not. He didn't know anything about it, I guess, until after the fact on Fri. Judy is already disabled from a stroke, and it is SO much on Russ....but the boys are very helpful and attentive. My friend, Terry, the only daughter, lives in FL.
Have you seen this info? February 9: Program at the National Conservation Training Center, cosponsored by PVAS and NCTC. 7:00 p.m. in the Byrd Auditorium in the Entrance building. Dr. Tracy Leskey, entomologist at the USDA Appalachian Fruit Research Station in Kearneysville, will give a presentation about Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs. Dr. Leskey and her colleagues at the Research Station are in the forefront of research into the insect, and she co-chairs a special USDA working group that is trying to find ways to respond to the problems the insect poses. Free and open to the public.
Well, I do believe a bunch of you sb opponents should head on over!
Home from church and now heading outside. Not a good a day as I would like but sure want to get rid of leaves. Jack is already out working. It is 50 and cloudy. Jack says I will warm up. ha!
Good idea, Lynn. Wear Mai out. Sounds like she has a lot of energy.
Think I will try playing around with my camera. I've never put the card in my laptop before...so here goes. See if I can lighten up some of the pictures on there. Before I take them to have pics printed out.
MT nest! Got a couple pics-winddy, but nice & sunny. I'm still wondering when FB starts. Fubby is watching the rrich people's Barrett Jackson car auction!'56 DeSoto went yesterday for $300,300!!!
Well, Lolly, you are observant.....I have not noticed that chat before on cam page.....it must be new. Remeember last year they took it off at some point if I remember correctly.
BEagle, good luck tomorrow!!
I was VERY surprised that I did NOT find an SB's in the loft crawl space when I got out Christmas stuff. And relieved!!!!
Hi, Everyone! Hubby and I are back from our little trip! Haven't picked up Emma yet, though. They said to pick her up between 2 and 3.
Didn't have a computer there. It's too hard to unhook ours to take with, just for one night. They had a computer hookup in the room, and it would've hooked up to the big flat-screen TV. Must try to get the pictures I took onto the computer so I can share some of them with all of you! That place is beautiful. We found out that our room would have cost us $650 a night, without using Sis-in-law's membership! YIKES!!! There are all kinds of birds there, too, on and around the huge lake. Black swans, white swans, Canada geese, Mallards, Coots, ravens, wow!
Lynn, I'm sorry that Mai is giving you so much trouble! Emma gets pretty feisty sometimes, too, but is still small enough to handle. How frustrating! Sure hope today is a better one for you!
Well, need to get some vacuuming done before we pick up Emma. May wash the kitchen floor with the steamer, too. Will be back with more to report later. Have a good afternoon/evening!
I am back inside now. Sitting here with ice on my back. The muscles are really sore. Had to quit. Jack is still working. Ohhh, will be glad when this job is done.
Just saw all the comments below the nest view. There are two sets of them. One is Twitter and the other I don't know what. I think it would be a good idea to invite them to our blog. I found this blog through a link on the page with the live nest cam. I to not see a link now.
Hedgie-Lynn I just found out he wasn't taken by ambulance to Vet. Center all those times. It was City Hospital. They are who messed up and did NOT CATCH THE PNEUMONIA. That is where (City Hospital) he was taken by ambulance three different times. How he got to Winchester was they flew him by helicopter where he is now in CCU on life support.
Reading further in their blog, I found that for inexplicable reasons, the PH pair, K-10 and K-26, showed up at their old nest and began working on it this morning.....
Hard to understand since their new one looks far better in every way...
Maybe an intruder was looking the old one over, and the PH pair had to defend their territory???????
I'm wondering if PH has something to do with the strong NE winds off the desert. Maybe they damaged the new nest, or maybe the eagles can't land and take off from the new nest in NE winds. (Branches in the way??)
The normal prevailing winds are from the SW in these parts.
Just got back from Ledo's w/some snacks and unfortunately the girl that speaks perfect English was at the cash register, so I haven't gotten the fractured name from the others yet! ☺ See that GB still has 14 & Da Bears 0 :>(
Checked bears---big, black, blob, but heard a real low roar, like an exhale. I just thought that only 3 out of the 4 can eat. Wonder if Hope has even bothered. What a great babysitter she is turning out to be!!I thought there could be conflict, but looks very calm. ☺ Good bears!!
Well, Chi.(my Dad's hometown)is out of the bowl but made a great comeback w/2nd QB. On to Pittsburgh!!!!!!(near my Mom's hometown)Still have relatives there!
When I was listening to bear cam the other night, thought I could hear people talking far away, but figured it must just be the cubs. Who would be out there at night?
Didn't hear that about Gabby Gifford. Hope it's under control. Is she in Houston? Daughter said that was one of the top rehab ctrs. 1st Pres Bush went there after joint surgery & some pro sports people, too.
Not really cold here, 47, but like the other night I just can not get warm. Went to the closet and got out my electric lap blanket. Now I will get warm. Had not thought about it before, but this lap blanket would be great in the trailer.
I like it! Loweeda, like Lynn said, we will take care of you! LOL
I am doing well, thanks. I do have some things to take care of yet. Another dental appointment, a visit to have my knee taken care of, and a trip to the plastic surgeon about my scars.
The dental appointment and the plastic surgeon/dermatologist appointments are in March. Those are made.
just heard two gunshots and called 911. Deputy came out, but hasn't found anything. Maybe someone just decided to fire off a couple of shots for some reason.
Deputy said they would have someone drive through the neighborhood tonight. He lives in the next neighborhood.
Susan is okay. She was supposed to go to work yesterday, and I am sure she did. They were nice enough to give her all of this time off, and she wanted to get back so that others could have a break.
A bit. Kathryn was concerned. I have heard things before, but maybe not so loud.
They had a drive-through in their neighborhood when Hunter was a baby. Someone got shot in the knee that time. The neighborhood drug dealer down the street. It really is a nice neighborhood, but a drug dealer can live a lot of places. He is gone, now, thank goodness.
Maybe we all need to go to the NCTC program about Stink Bugs...might be enlightening...come on everyone in the area, lets go and then have some lunch! If we could learn how to get rid of stink bugs, we could form a corporation and go into business;)
We just had a delicious dinner. Jane, Jack' sister, had given us a spiral cut ham for Christmas. We had it, cheese potatoes, and Lima beans for dinner. Yummy! the ham was a wee bit sweet for our taste but it was good.
It has been a beautiful day for hubby's 73rd. Kids were here in the early afternoon and then hubby and I went down to the OutBack - good service and delicious meal. We are home now and both of us took a little snooze. We have a show coming on at 9:00 - this is the part 3 of 4. It's been interesting. Thanks for all your good wishes for hubby's day. I am going into get comfy clothing on and watch the program.
Steelers have 24 but Jets have started scoring with 10 and they are only in the 3rd qtr. So you never know....
Father capt. Gene and I both cook. He does (usually) the entree and I do the sides and dessert. I have delegated the drink making to others. We still enjoy it very much:)
I think I missed this one, some comment quite a bit earlier about the "hawk at L-of-C?" When maybe someone could pass some information along regarding that...I would appreciate it
Lisa at Blackwater has an update on the Eagle Cam Web Log (link on the BWE site) and it talks about rolling the eggs, and also about the two eagles at the BWO platform earlier today ... It's all superior information, As Usual !
when I first moved in here, my first wall hangings were DNR Wildlife calendars from several years past, just picked out my favorite pictures and hung them for whatever month and year I liked... 'cause date and year really didn't matter much to me at the time...
I just needed some beauty in here
So that's why I checked three different calendars for Feb. 9
friend traveling along I-81 near Roanoke saw a LOT of roosting/perching hawks, said they were HUGE thinks they were red-shouldered hawks and he also saw two eagles in a nest down there somewhere
Lisa also has a link on the update web cam log to the numbers of eagles in and around Blackwater refuge, simply, Amazing !

Feeding chicks at Jordan Lake NC
already got a reply from Lisa:
Yes, we have a lot of eagles at the refuge now, so we might occasionally get new birds on the platform, especially if our Eagle Cam parents are busy elsewhere
Lisa
Prayers for Larry and Barbara, Dana....
I can't take pictures of Jordan Lake NC because they don't come up Jpeg.
That article posted for Kentucky...WOW now there you are going to see eagles and lots in the winter time too!!!!!!
No problem with the little one getting fed. Both chicks are eating well at Jordan Lake NC ... happy happy nest !

Oh ho, Margy, do you think that the Lord has himself 2 Ladies????
That two-timer, but what a guy!! If true, and there is another nest with more eggs, he is going to be one exhausted dad!!!
white Rock eagle just now shooed ravens off the nest. Cool.
And thanks for the call-over, Jim and Margy!
probably just another resident pair of eagles Hedgie !
think Lord and Lady Blackwater are true and true ♥
Dana, Russ takes her back to Dr. tomorrow. Don't know if Derick will go or not. He didn't know anything about it, I guess, until after the fact on Fri. EAGLE OUR NEST JUST WIGGLED IN EGG CUP.
wE HAVE AN eagle in our nest...looks like Lib
Hi Dana!
Looks like eagle is going to leave
Yup off to the left this time!
flew out to left of nest hummm
Hi Paula sure glad someone else seen it fly off to the left. Everyone would have thought I was getting my lefts and rights mixed up lol
Yea, that was different
Got to get me some soup I am COLD!
BTW, Margy---I am going to be on the lookout for that KeyLime Pie gum!!! I will taste-test it. KLP is one of my most favorite desserts!!!

Stink Bugs! Sounds like an informative presentation at NCTC.
I just found another on my floor yesterday. It was dead...but still.
Looks like a stuffed pepper on the
NC nest. lol
Where's the sunshine avatar?
Still at Church I presume.
I may have second thoughts about making stuffed peppers in the future.
(snort)
Well, I do believe a bunch of you sb opponents should head on over!
Home from church and now heading outside. Not a good a day as I would like but sure want to get rid of leaves. Jack is already out working. It is 50 and cloudy. Jack says I will warm up. ha!
Good idea, Lynn. Wear Mai out. Sounds like she has a lot of energy.
Need to check cams and then head out.
A friend of mine was checking his attic and you know where your stinkbugs are...hiding in your insulation and rockwool....YEP!!! YUCK!!!!!
Belle and Lib worked so hard yesterday that this must be their day oof.
I would be gathering leaves if it were 50 degrees here instead of 25!
Think I will try playing around with my camera. I've never put the card in my laptop before...so here goes. See if I can lighten up some of the pictures on there. Before I take them to have pics printed out.
I have been tending to some house plants today...stinkbugs hide in them!
Switch again at Jordan Lake. Yes, that's a colorful meal there! Can't tell if it was fish or something else!
Got to watch a nice feeding at Jordan Lake...both chicks have full crops :) No bickering :)
The adult on NC keeps messing with that stick...one end has landed on the colorful meal. That stick gets moved from one side to the other.
I notice that there are more fish tails. That's an odd habit.
That is probably were the Sb came from on my floor, houseplants. I had to throw away my beautiful spider plant because of those bugs.
I noticed there was no pecking between the chicks that I can tell. Then I thought maybe it's when they get a little older........
Eagles in our nest!
Why did you have to throw the plant away, BEagle?
I think the adults at Jordan Lake feed the best part to the chicks, then consume the tails.
Lib is looking for HP
Think she said NO, LOL
Belle digging in the bowl. Lib standing on the left side of the nest
Both in nest!!!
belle at the front moving sticks, Lib down in the bowl now
Hi Lowreeda!
Taking a raking break! See them both!
One up on branch.
Belle off to the right
Whoops! One!
Can hear the wind slightly with bear cam off,
Just noticed that some watchers are leaving comments down below the cam. We should invite them over to the blog.
Heading back outside. One eagle still in the nest.
I see an eagle.
I had to throw the spider plant away because it was so eaten up sitting outside on my porch. I got a starter off it though.
I raised it at my old office. Long story.
Nice view of Lib.
NC chicks in view.
MT nest! Got a couple pics-winddy, but nice & sunny.
I'm still wondering when FB starts. Fubby is watching the rrich people's Barrett Jackson car auction!'56 DeSoto went yesterday for $300,300!!!
Change of guard at BWE
OUr nest is MT...
eating again at Jordan Lake...those chicks are little piggies!
Are the Steelers playing today?
Dana, they are playing later today...something like 5:30 or 6:30
3PM Da Bears and Green Bay started.
GB has 7! BOOOOO
Dana, it's 6:30 on CBS
Bears have been quiet this afternoon every time I have checked

wE are doing the desert winds until you are sick to death of them again today.

LOL, Jim, and we are doing the NW winds that are frigid as heck! Windchill is about 0°. Trade ya'!!!
Hello,
I went out shopping, but it is so very cold. The wind is brutal. I am happy to be home.
Stinkbugs--for some reason, they keep showing up in Kathryn's room. Lucky got one of them.
Lucky is Kathryn's kitty.
Just saw all the comments below the nest view. There are two sets of them. One is Twitter and the other I don't know what. I think it would be a good idea to invite them to our blog. I found this blog through a link on the page with the live nest cam. I to not see a link now.
Oh, wow, both eagles at Sutton cam. They are working on the nest, Also, the cam has been put back into position, Yea!
Oh, Oh, Oh, hp at Sutton, OK!
Whoa! It is brisk outside, but doable! Threw the ball for the dogs twice and picked up land mines! The wind wasn't constant, so that was a blessing!
Can hear some cubbies at the Den.
Jordan chicks are uncovered, they alternately pop up and peek around!
In case nobody reported it:
According to the Ch. Isles blog, K-01 and Wray were on the nest together and working as though they were a pair again this morning.
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Wow, Lolly, that must have been some HP :0
I have noticed that if you refresh Jordan Lake when it gets choppy, it comes back in nice and clear.
Been watching Bears and Green Bay
Hope I can get the Steelers game later.
Thanks Lolly got OK cam up--rough waters there.
The natives are restless since they came in, they think it's eatin time
Thanks for posting time on here for Steelers game ( :
Hurray for K01 and Wray, Jim!!!! Hope they ARE truly back together!!!
Hi, ANdy. Sounds like a great place for a getaway!! Can't wait to see your pics!
Lolly. Thanks for the Sutton update. That IS good news. Looks good too.
Jim. Thanks for update on the WE nest with Wray and 01. That is very good news.
Paula. Thanks for the helpful hint on the NC cam refresh.
Hedgie. Thanks for the well wish on my first day tomorrow.
Rofl. Some HP at Su nest. : D
Two eagles and three eggs at NC.
I meant BWE.
The chicks looked pooped at NC.
It would be hard to see a good poop shoot at NC.
I think the chicks are trying to get under each other.
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Jim, thanks for the news about Wray and K01!!
Eagles can tend to 2 nests...
Interesting about the PH nest too!
They are claiming both nests!
How is SHunter Susan? did I miss updates?
TCB.
Eagles in nest
Our pair has arrvied.
At least one was in the tree
;0
I'm wondering if PH has something to do with the strong NE winds off the desert. Maybe they damaged the new nest, or maybe the eagles can't land and take off from the new nest in NE winds. (Branches in the way??)
The normal prevailing winds are from the SW in these parts.

Just got back from Ledo's w/some snacks and unfortunately the girl that speaks perfect English was at the cash register, so I haven't gotten the fractured name from the others yet! ☺
See that GB still has 14 & Da Bears 0 :>(
Eagles in nest
Shirley hasn't really said, BEagle, but I think she's doing OK
HP
WOW---HP!!!!
WHoa, right under the cam!!!
And Lib calls out!
OH, makin' eggs!
Good evening Paula!
Eagles in nest!
Lib in the bowl, Belle at the left
Now they are both picking around at fluff and twigs
It is sooo funny to watch those two bicker about who puts what where in the nest cup. :)
HP picture in album
Hi Lori!
Lib molding the bowl
Belle off to the right
Lib off to the right.
They was make'n eaglets ( : (:
Hey Paula, Dana, Helen, NN...
I gotta ask - what is "HP"?
Put an HP pic on blog---will put in album. That's the first time I've seen it!
Lori....Hanky Panky!!
Lowreeda.....we make up for the missing clerks at Ledo's!!!
Interesting theory, Jim! Why not ask Dr. Sharpe. He answers emails!
OMG - that is so funny!!!
I was trying to think of some scientific term - that is hilarious. Well, duh, now I know.
Nite Lite just came on
Yea, Lori, we're as scientific as the forums!!! LOL
Weather peeps keep pushing back and shortening duration of threatened snow/rain this week, so that's great for nesting.
Checked bears---big, black, blob, but heard a real low roar, like an exhale. I just thought that only 3 out of the 4 can eat. Wonder if Hope has even bothered. What a great babysitter she is turning out to be!!I thought there could be conflict, but looks very calm. ☺
Good bears!!
That's good to hear, Lori!
Gonjna go nibble some bruschetta & salad & prayer for the football Bears....
Duh, can spell, just can't type!
Dark here....but light must be working on nest.....MTBR.
Don't know why----guess frozen pipes----but just saw on FB that our train station is flooded! It's a lovely re-habbed hotel right next to the tracks.
Good night all - 1:30 wake up call comes early...and looks like long week.
Stay warm, lay out your long johns for tomorrow!
The Coopers hawk in the L-0f-C is still there. Has not taken any of the bait they're trying.
Lori I think Green Bay has this one.
Goodnight, Lori! Good to see you on!
Well I'm signing out to go to the couch....more football.
Our nest is dark but if an eagle came in there you could till it.
Prayers for Lynns-Hedgies friends.
Prayers for the family and friends of the young man that died.
Prayers for Larry in Winchester Critical Care Unit on Life Support.
Prayers for others that have illness or other problems.
Wonder how long that hawk will stay? He must be sooo confused!
So much for the light....hmmmm. Come on Mr. Moon.
I keep hearing what sounds like voices.......on either our cam or the bear cam.......???? Anyone else? Very strange.
Congresswoman Giffords has taken a turn......fluid build-up in the brain.....probably surgery to put in a shunt. Not good.
Well, now they are explaining more----drain is already in place.....may have to be permanent.
Will delay move out of ICU for about a week.
To the Steelers~~~~~!!!!☺ ☺ ☺ ☺
Have a ham in the oven
Not really cold here, 47, but like the other night I just can not get warm. Went to the closet and got out my electric lap blanket. Now I will get warm. Had not thought about it before, but this lap blanket would be great in the trailer.
I like it! Loweeda, like Lynn said, we will take care of you! LOL
Hi BEagle,
Hope your new job goes well tomorrow.
I am doing well, thanks. I do have some things to take care of yet. Another dental appointment, a visit to have my knee taken care of, and a trip to the plastic surgeon about my scars.
But I am getting around just fine.
Loretta, Gabby is in, I think, Herrmann (Houstin) at the present time. Won't be moved to rehab for a while yet.
Shirley, please get those apptmts. made ASAP! We want you 100% before it's time for a "spring" nest visit!!
Strong!...so good to hear you are OKay.
You have been quiet lately. :)
How is Susan?
I see Lori was on here while I was out....bless her long johns!
Loretta, guess it was hard for you to choose who to root for in that game!
Great pic!!
Someone said something earlier about there being snow in the nest.....there is no longer snow in it. And nightlight is a flop again. This is very sad.
Before I get sleepy and forget, want to wish Jo's Eubby a HAPPY BIRTHDAY...hope he enjoyed the day!
The dental appointment and the plastic surgeon/dermatologist appointments are in March. Those are made.
just heard two gunshots and called 911. Deputy came out, but hasn't found anything. Maybe someone just decided to fire off a couple of shots for some reason.

Susan is okay. She was supposed to go to work yesterday, and I am sure she did. They were nice enough to give her all of this time off, and she wanted to get back so that others could have a break.
Deputy said no one else called about the shots. I hope they don't think we are silly.
Guess they won't if something else turns up.
It is a bit unnerving, isn't it, Shirley?
Good grief.....17° outside, and a stupid SB just flew onto kitchen table. ARGH! Have they forgotten they are supposed to be hibernating??
Maybe we all need to go to the NCTC program about Stink Bugs...might be enlightening...come on everyone in the area, lets go and then have some lunch!
If we could learn how to get rid of stink bugs, we could form a corporation and go into business;)
I do think you should go and then go for lunch. I would go....if I was not so far away. LOL And, you can visit the nest!!! Go for it!
We just had a delicious dinner. Jane, Jack' sister, had given us a spiral cut ham for Christmas. We had it, cheese potatoes, and Lima beans for dinner. Yummy! the ham was a wee bit sweet for our taste but it was good.
Those spiral hams are tasty...I think a tad sweet too. My favorite is good ol Mash's hams.
Watched some of the Steelers game, they are kicking butt!
Wanda, that's an evening program at 7pm on the stink bugs
Stink Bug Program is Wednesday 2/9/11 at 7:00 pm
How about local dinner at 5:30 and then off to the presentation.
Admission is to bring 10 stink bugs in a sealed container..........
LOLn Jack pointed out that I snorted twice, Jo.
ROFLMBO, JO!
MemoJo. You are kidding about the stink but admission....aren't you?
Still giggling....3 snorts!!!!
DARN...SOUP KITCHEN On the 9th:(
I have got to Preview! I cannot believe I said stink but.
I meant skink bug.
Let if be Father Capt, Gene's turn to cook!
I missed that BEagle!
STINK BUG.
There. Typed it correctly!
Father capt. Gene and I both cook. He does (usually) the entree and I do the sides and dessert. I have delegated the drink making to others. We still enjoy it very much:)
Do you really have to bring stink bugs in a "sealed container." I don't know if I can find 10 of them.
I bet Lynne2 could get 20 a piece!
It really did say you could bring some SB's!!!!
Hey, Ladies, if you have a stink bug shortage for admission, I am sure people can mail you some more.
Surely they do not have to be alive!
Any from here might have cat teeth marks. Kathryn said Lucky was very proud of his kill.
I cannot imagine. Mailing stink bugs!
For a good cause.
Probably not necessary, though.
Happy nursing sounds at the bear den.
YAHOOO! What a play at the goal line!!!!
Hi Eagle Pals
I think I missed this one, some comment quite a bit earlier about the "hawk at L-of-C?"
When maybe someone could pass some information along regarding that...I would appreciate it
Lisa at Blackwater has an update on the Eagle Cam Web Log (link on the BWE site) and it talks about rolling the eggs, and also about the two eagles at the BWO platform earlier today ... It's all superior information, As Usual !
Okay so it IS today:
Happy Birthday to Ed
sounds like a stellar day, Jo !
My sister in Western Massachusetts, is expecting wind chill temps from -25 to -35 tonight...
this is brutal !
Magpie
I meant to ask about the hawk and LofC.
Forgot.
Wanda !
I have checked three different calendars.
February 9 is a Wednesday !!
when I first moved in here, my first wall hangings were DNR Wildlife calendars from several years past, just picked out my favorite pictures and hung them for whatever month and year I liked...
'cause date and year really didn't matter much to me at the time...
I just needed some beauty in here
So that's why I checked three different calendars for Feb. 9
That's okay BEagle, thanks...it will come along here in a bit I think...our questions most often get answered ! ☺
friend traveling along I-81 near Roanoke saw a LOT of roosting/perching hawks, said they were HUGE thinks they were red-shouldered hawks
and he also saw two eagles in a nest down there somewhere
Lisa also has a link on the update web cam log to the numbers of eagles in and around Blackwater refuge, simply, Amazing !
WE ARE APPROACHING THE SPLIT
