See Wanda, it's because you've observed all these years that you know what the signs are for an egg, and if what she's doing is the norm or not. Thank you. Great to know she does the sleep over every year.
Shirley, you should be to school AND back tonight before the weather event starts...at least as of now they are saying after midnight. I'll be out too, babysitting, so I am hoping they are right.
Good morning everyone. I would say Belle usually lays eggs during the night and wee hours of the morning. It seems she chooses a night when the cam is down often and we get up to a surprise but for the ones I think observed it was wee hours of the morning so Take a nap
There has been a real decline in birds at my feeders over the last couple of days. I don't have a single bird this morning. I thought they'd be chowing down before the storm. Hmmmm.....
Not too disappointed that there is no egg.....sure hoope she waits until after the coming weather... But yes, nighttime hours seems to be Belle's pattern from what I recall, too.
Dana2---LOL.....wondered why your moniker was changed!!!!
Lynn, love the eagles in the water. Reminds me of the time we looked out the kitchen window and there was a hawk playing in the sprinkler. He got soaking wet and could not fly. After a while he waddled to a nearby young redbud and climbed it. Stayed there for quite a while drying off. It was a small hawk, we never did identify it.
I'm up early owing to unnatural causes, so I thought I'd better give you the old "good morn" while I can.
Weather is warmer than it feels this morning ...47°... probably because we never buy the heavy clothing and the rest for a really cold winter here in So Cal. Or old age is creating unexpected effects on my body. It's supposed to get up to 77 today; let's see if it makes it this time.
Well I am up and about and so is Belle! I was really expecting an egg. I think this is the norm - Lib has to feed her a couple meals before she'll laid that egg.
Thanks to all of you for being the greatest "Egg Watchers" group that I know
Although, last Soup Kitchen meal, we had 20 guests and they knew snow was coming...by the time most of our guests were ready to leave, there was 2 inches of snow on the ground. Don't know how many had to walk, but a least they had full tummies!
Hi, Everyone, I hope that Belle waits a bit to lay that egg, too! Sounds like all of you folks back east are going to have to batten down the hatches! Makes me very glad that it's supposed to be 77 here today. SURE won't complain!
Our gardeners are sitting in their truck out front, eating lunch. They'll get busy shortly. I really feel sorry for them today--we have about 1-1/2 feet of leaves piled up against the gate to the back yard from the winds we've had so far. More winds expected tomorrow and Thursday, too. I HATE Santa Ana winds!

Good Morning all! Love all the reports from last night! THANKS LORI!!
Love the observation post.
Reminds me of my old days spending nights in the barn waiting for horses to have their babies. That was so awesome.
I know what you mean...I lived on a horse farm for a couple of years. Nights in the stable, waiting.
does anyone remember what time of day Belle usually lays the eggs? Like more of a daytime or nighttime thing?
Beagle, so sorry about the stinkbug...I feel for you!

Jim, 77° sounds WONDERFUL! It is 29° here in Nestville and BAD weather on the way:(
Hope it doesn't come early and ruin our Soup Kitchen meal!
Thanks Lynn - that Juvie is looking great!

Eagle calling out!
Incoming eagle! with a large stick
Lib came in with a very long stick, Belle had to duck.
There goes Belle to the right. She had a hard time flying by the giant stick. Lib is now going to try to put it somewhere.
Right back to the nest, both working on nest cup.
Woke up took my meds got my body pillow went to couch...aww I needed that extra sleep.
I sure hope Belle doesn't laid an egg yet with 3 inches of snow coming!! Please Belle "hold that egg"!
Off she goes, called out, can hear crows, they seem to be annoying the eagles, there goes Lib. Mt nest.
Sounds like HP in the tree, off cam.
They are definitely up in the tree above nest, heard HP, can hear feathers ruffling.
Eagle close-up at Norfolk, and I think one of the Q & A sessions are going on...with sound effects.
[:~D] Jim
One flew back into nest, working on sticks. Lib, maybe
More building going on!!! Not sure which one!
Really tugging on those sticks to place them where it wants them.
Have cam up on this laptop while working on my old laptop. Getting my favorites up to date.
Heard the hp in the tree. :)
Need to head in and get my hair cut and fixed before this snow hits. Glad going today and not tomorrow.
