Paula, thanks for the

Great video.

Good Morning All! Thanks for the fresh thread Steve!

Company will be here around 1:00 for good food and friendship.

I hope all of you have a great day

BBILW - much to do....

Good morning! And a Happy 4th to all!!! Our 4th was yesterday. It was fun but mad at my son they did not show. Grrrr! This afternoon Jack and I are going to Light Catcher winery to listen to music and drink a little wine. It is jazz Sunday and the Trinity River Whalers are playing. Then we will come home and catch the Burleson fireworks. For these fireworks we will drive in Jack's pickup as close as we can get and then sit in the back of the truck. lol It is very close to our house. Then we will come home and sit in the front yard and watch. We are out in the country and fireworks are allowed. Amazing what people spend on fireworks. Burning money! But, at least the rain we have had has everything green. Last night's fireworks can not be beat.

Lolly said...

I am off now to get ready for church. I wish all of you a glorious day, celebrating with your loved ones.

Be back after church.☺

Judie said...

Good morning, again.

Thank you, Steve and may you and your family have a lovely day of celebrating our freedoms.

Still resting. Still sunshiny. Still wishing everyone a wonderful day with family, friends, and a screaming eaglet.

Dana Gray said...

Happy 4th of July everyone. I hope everyone is planning on a great great day

stronghunter said...

Thanks for the new thread, Steve and thanks for the call-over BEagle.

stronghunter said...

Happy 4th to all of you. We celebrated yesterday, too, Lolly. I have not heard from Susan and Rus, but I am sure they are enjoying their own celebrations. I can usually find out what they are doing by checking Facebook.

BEagle said...

Just checking to see if there has been any sight of Miss Palmer.

So far nothing except she has been heard. That is something.

My question is, will we see her anymore?

Bob Quinn said...

Happy 4th to all! No eagle photos to celebrate. Just a few flowers and bees:

Bees

BEagle said...

That may be a silly question. I guess no one really knows.

BEagle said...

What pretty flowers. No wonder the bees love them.

Thank you Bob.

BEagle said...

Maybe the question of the empty nest is how do you let go?

Do you just keep a vision of the next season?
Here it is a holiday and I am moping about a noisy eaglet!

paula eagleholic said...

BEagle - that song chokes me up too ♥

Bob - Lovely pics ♥ thank you!

stronghunter said...

Beautiful pictures, Bob. Thank you for sharing them with us.

stronghunter said...

I think we will see her again, BEagle. At least, I hope so.

stronghunter said...

Heard a "clunk."

stronghunter said...

I hear Palmer calling!

NatureNut said...

Have a Wonderful Day!!!
We've just had a bang up Fourth here. A lady was pulling out of a religious bldgs. driveway 2-3 houses up the street, but into path of an suv coming down the street. He swerved, whacked her front bumper & flipped over twice, landing on it's roof! We were outside & heard all the loud THUMPS, but didn't see the accident. No one was hurt & the man in suv crawled out the window & said he was OK. The people that live there on our side of the street saw the whole thing.Ironically, that neighbor had his car that was parked at the curb totaled by a county Ride On Bus earlier this week. He's a car dealer!!!!
So, be careful out there!

stronghunter said...

Yikes, Loretta!!

stronghunter said...

Good that no one was hurt.

NatureNut said...

Put on Live cam & no Palmer, but a high-pitched buzz again~~Nuts. Wanted to leave it on for a little while to listen for Palmer.

This was posted on fb by Sue.........

Lily the Black Bear July 4, 2010 (12:44 PM CDT) Hope was inaccessible again this morning. With so many wild berries available we're not concerned if she misses a feeding or two now and then. Each time we DO see her, we give her the formula first because it likely contains nutrients she can't get elsewhere. We'll try again later today. -- SM

Lolly said...

Good music at church.

We will be leaving in a couple of hours to go to the winery. Love the group Trinity River Whalers. Their music is great, fun, and oh so lively! Food at the bistro is delicious.

Lolly said...

Loretta aka Loweeda, so glad no one was injured. Sounds like the man in the SUV was buckled in securely. Just think if he had not!

movin said...

There's an eaglet feeding on TH nest now.

Both are still on WE, but they are hunkered down and wet from the fog.

BEagle said...

I have been watching the TH eaglet enjoying his meal. An adult brought that to the nest I noticed.

Also noticed the feathers askew making him look robust from flying.

The fog is really heavy at the WE nest.
Those twins don't seem to be in a hurry to take flight. Of course, that is only momentary.

BEagle said...

Gosh the wind blows fierce at the LOL nest. The blog assures that the chicks will hold their wings out but are securely buckled in with their talons. Not to worry. : )

Judie said...

Isla is watching over her chicks and EJ is trying to feed hers. Scotland is very windy and cloudy today.

It looks as if Phoenix has either branched or has fledged. Nest looks MT.

Our nest MT.

Loweeda, so glad no one was injured. Sounds like that location is accident-prone.

Hi Jim. Happy 4th.

Shirley, is it just you and George today? Ah, into the recliner you go.

BEgle, every visit now might be the last. We get along by being a great blog family and dreaming of the next season.

Diann, any word on the furnace? If so, I hope is reasonably inexpensive.

Lolly, have fun at the winery.

Off to check Bob's pics.

Judie said...

Back so quickly.

Bob, pictures are stunning. I really like them all but especially 18, 22, 36, 41. Happy 4th and thank you so much.

stronghunter said...

Screaming Palmer!!!!!

BEagle said...

Hi Judie. I did see the benefits of dreaming the next season.

Parting is sweet sorrow, but there is always another year. Who knows? There may be three chicklets next year!

Wouldn't that be fun! (one eaglet is fun.)

Oh, the cam is zoomed in on Phoenix, relaxing...taking it easy.

stronghunter said...

Judie, it was George and me for awhile. Will got up very early and went fishing. He came back awhile ago with Kyle, I assume he was the morning's fishing buddy. They disappeared into Will's part of the house. It is very quiet here. I think there will be fireworks tonight when his friends gather.

stronghunter said...

Last year, we found lots of other critters to watch, BEagle. It was last summer that I learned about the osprey cams and the Snowman cam, and Pax Pa.

Well, Will just came back in. He was out shopping. I do not always know where he is.

He said they caught a few small fish and threw them back in.

stronghunter said...

Well, Palmer either calmed down or took her tantrum somewhere else.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! Many heartfelt thanks to those who have made our freedom possible--freedom is indeed, NOT free! God bless America!

Hope everybody has a safe and happy 4th, with lots of family fun.

Glad to hear that those who were a bit under the weather are feeling better--hope the trend continues!

Don't see Palmer in the nest. Hope she decides to visit some time today. That nest is going to seem REALLY empty once she leaves us for good.

Well, have a few things that need to be done. Will be back a little later. Have a good one! :o]

movin said...

Yeah, Beagle,
The TH eaglet is still there, perched on the rock on the far side and looking VERY windblown.

C(°Ù¿°)D

Jim

movin said...

Hahaha. That eaglet flew out and back into the TH nest, AND just as it was putting its wings down, a long right-hand wing of its sibling stretched out full length and into the picture from the left of the screen.

Now you can see both of them, and they are calling to their parents for lunch now.

stronghunter said...

Palmer is in the nest!

stronghunter said...

Lord, what a racket! I heard it from the kitchen.

BEagle said...

Wow. Palmer in the nest!!

paula eagleholic said...

I had just walked in from outside and she arrived.

We are having a late cookout here...waiting for my brother and gf to get here...and John to get off of work and get here as well.

paula eagleholic said...

Michael and Laura went up and bought some fireworks, so we will have a little show later as well :)

paula eagleholic said...

Ah, it's 5 o'clock. Time for a refreshing beverage :)

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, I finally got to see my hummer today!

BEagle said...

Did you ever think you could miss that screeching?

Sounds like music.

paula eagleholic said...

It is a very special kind of music, BEagle. I will miss it for sure!

stronghunter said...

You are getting a concert tonight, Paula.

BEagle said...

lol

She looks plum tuckered out.

BEagle said...

That little high pitched note was different!

paula eagleholic said...

Palmer still in the nest, laying at the noon spot.

Company is here...see ya'll later!

BEagle said...

Removing dependence is a difficult thing.

She is standing and I think the parents must be approaching.

BEagle said...

That was a temper hop.

BEagle said...

There she goes.

BEagle said...

That must be her hitting the cam.

stronghunter said...

Palmer took off still screeching.

stronghunter said...

Yes, it sounds like she circled back.

BEagle said...

Palmer can still be heard at the cam.

stronghunter said...

We know that Palmer is one healthy bird. Nothing wrong with the voice, either.

stronghunter said...

She will eventually figure out that she needs to use that energy to capture her own food.

BEagle said...

Palmer is still at the cam. Relentless in her pursuit.

BEagle said...

I should say Palmer is ON the cam.

Lib/Belle just won't show themselves.

stronghunter said...

Still hollering. About 2 1/2 hours now.

movin said...

sO, do they have fireworks displays in the area of Sheptown??

I'm thinking Lib & Belle are off for the evening to take in the show.

C(°Ù¿°)D Jim

kickngbird said...

Just checked in - too late to see her in the nest, but in time for the "concert"

;)

stronghunter said...

Yeah, Jim, and I think they left their wild child at home.

kickngbird said...

Independence never has come easy

stronghunter said...

I think we are hearing a wild eaglet party near the nest.

kickngbird said...

Loud squawking giving proof thru the evening that Palmer's still there

stronghunter said...

Is Palmer learning the alphabet? I see the letter "A" in the nest.

stronghunter said...

And a "B."

kickngbird said...

LOL - Yes, I see the A - If we see a B there tomorrow, we need to get in touch with some animal research people ASAP

kickngbird said...

Oh no, where is the B? We may have to get in touch with some researchers sooner than later!

BEagle said...

This must be a Palmer record.

BEagle said...

I see the A but haven't found the B yet.

BEagle said...

There is a big C though.

BEagle said...

Surely you noticed the P for Palmer.
On it's side to the left of the A.

BEagle said...

A mighty big foot showing for Phoenix on the zoom lens if you look now.

BEagle said...

Palmer still yelling. May have flown off the cam.

kickngbird said...

A in a spotlight just now

stronghunter said...

Yes, I see the P. I saw a B nearer the bottom of the nest, but it is not as visible since the light has shifted.

stronghunter said...

Near the center of the nest, I should say.

Judie said...

Oh good grief!

I believe the NCTC Russian spies have infiltrated the libations of some momsters as indicated by the visual hallucinations of alphabetical letters in the nest. However, since I cannot see the nest, perhaps alphabetical letters have actually appeared.

I missed all the action, of course.

Dinner over. Going to rest a bit. BBL

BEagle said...

Two adults show up.

BEagle said...

AND with a nice big wushi fish.

BEagle said...

That was Lib that just flew off again.
I hear a little one on the cam!

BEagle said...

Well, if that's Belle, Palmer will never get her way.

BEagle said...

There she is in all her glory and mantling.

BEagle said...

Well the other adult just took off.

BEagle said...

Persistence pays off. She is digging in .....

and probably covering the B.

kickngbird said...

Very late meal - Spidey starting to cover the dining area

kickngbird said...

I don't think she finished that fish, did she?

kickngbird said...

Those noises she makes are so funny!

kickngbird said...

Combination horse whinny, dog whimper, and a goose honk - oh, then when parent arrives, it's an absolute screech

BEagle said...

Belle is back and there's a stand off.
I think I know who will win.

BEagle said...

The crescendo scream when the adult comes in must be from sheer delight.

It's too dark to tell what happened but they are both eating.

Belle must have brought something back.

kickngbird said...

Appears to be some fish left so it's probably who Belle flew in when Palmer had walked away since I know she tends not to be so intimidated

BEagle said...

I think it's Lib instead of Belle on there.

BEagle said...

I think you are right KB.

kickngbird said...

meant to say it's probably Belle who flew in - I don't know if she brought something new or if she just picked up a piece of the original fish that may have been in pieces around the nest, but when I saw her do this before she flew in after Palmer had walked away from a fish

kickngbird said...

Almost thought I heard a yodel in there!

BEagle said...

Belle is feeding Palmer, what a chump.

kickngbird said...

Off she goes - if it was Belle

kickngbird said...

What a fantastic show - with their eyes lit by the night vision light - very cool!

kickngbird said...

Heard only one take off, so Palmer is probably still on the nest. She may spend the night. But what a great "Independence Day" show she put on.

:)

kickngbird said...

Just heard her - she's still there.

BEagle said...

Palmer is on the nest. She may decide to stay the night.

Which makes us totally happy.

Lynne2 said...

Good evening all...looks like I picked a good time to show up! Nice to see our baby and an adult in the nest.

Hope everyone has had a good Independence Day!

Steve and I were going to go fishing this morning, but something evidently went wrong with the boat trailer hitch when it got unhooked from friend Dave's truck yesterday, and we were unable to get it hooked onto our truck last night (which has hauled this trailer dozens of times before). Too hot today to mess with it. But we did go "mini fishing" for some tiny specimens to use in the stream and pond exhibits at Irvine. Got some crawdads, 4 sunfish and 2 bluegills. So not only does my husband excel at hooking the big ones, he is awesome at getting tiny ones on purpose, too! So we took them straight over there and set them up in their temporary tank. Steve hadn't been to Irvine yet and he really enjoyed getting the "tour". OMG, I had a little fledgling eastern king bird fly at me and land right on my shoulder! He sat there for about a minute and Tracey took a pic but it's blurry. That was too funny! There were 2 others and mom flitting about.

We may go out early and fish the shore tomorrow for a couple of hours. Not sure yet. We went to Liberty Reservoir to day and I am shocked at the garbage....most of which was empty cases and cans of some sort of Mexican beer, food wrappers, fishing line all over the place, foil, plastic wrappers, etc. and a big rope tied into a tree where it looks like they were probably swinging from it out over the water which is REALLY dangerous there.....not to mention illegal. It makes me so freakin' mad....it was a disgraceful mess.

I am heading to bed...hope everyone gets to and from all gatherings safely tonight, prayers for all!

well, seems that Daisy is petrified, no make the PETRIFIED of fireworks. Just took them both out for nitey nite pee pee and she FREAKED. There aren't even any close by, but you can hear them in the distance. She nearly severed my wrist trying to run away while I was desperately holding on, no, being dragged, and trying not to get Puddles killed in the process of it all. She's been around gunfire, had no problem with thunderstorms except for one very loud boom during one storm a while back when she was awakened from a sound sleep. So I surely didn't expect this.

NOW going to bed....

Very sleepy. I am ready to go upstairs. I will see you tomorrow. Good night.

Goodnight to a Wonderful Fourth! Was watching every firework show I could find on TV. Think our DC Capitol Fourth lasted longer this year & we got to see more fireworks w/out having to go down there!
Sorry I missed Palmer celebrating!
Hope everyone had a great day.
Tomorrow, I'll try & see if I can put a couple Park eagle pics on here. Pro photographer that's been coming to Park saw a juvie & both adults near the eagle nest. His stuff has copyright, so I've gotta check.
PS: Both our cats were strays, but vets estimated their B'Days as July. We use the 4th! So, Binky is 4 & Scooter is 2!
Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)

Lolly said...

Well, we have an hour left of the 4th. Still sounds like a war zone around here. Neighbors across the street were having a huge party. Some of you saw the longhorn on fb. They had a longhorn saddled up for rides, band playing loud, cars parked up and down the street.
Then some other neighbors have been sending up huge fireworks and have been doing it for a long time. After we returned home from the Burleson fireworks, we sat out in the front yard, listened to music and watched yet more fireworks. Crazy!

I am tired. It has been a long day. See you guys tomorrow!

Nite all! Sweet dreams! Sorry I missed the Palmer show this evening.

Hi, Everyone!
Getting here kinda late. Fireworks still exploding nearby, and guess what--they're illegal in our city!

Can hear the fireworks from a little farther away--must be Angel Stadium and Disneyland.

Lynne, glad you managed to get Daisy back in the house OK. Poor girl. Must've had a bad experience in the past.

Sounds like everybody had a good time. Hubby & I had fettucine alfredo and a big salad for dinner, and it was GOOD. We meet my Sis-in-law tomorrow for either a late breakfast or an early lunch.
Should be fun!

Well, getting pretty sleepy. Think I'll call it a day. Prayers said for everyone. The night light is on for those coming in late. The porch light is automatic. The eye scanner security is enabled--Russian spies, beware! Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love you guys! :o]

stronghunter said...

stronghunter said...

stronghunter said...

Let me reword my first comment this morning: BEagle was the only one up this morning. She is our bright and early one. And she got to see Palmer.

Now for the coffee.

stronghunter said...

I hear a woodpecker at the nest.

BEagle said...

Good morning Shirley.

BEagle said...

Today is my day for celebrating the 4th.

So the grill is ready and the shopping done. I may even do some fireworks. I don't think the neighbors will mind if it is at a reasonable hour.

There are usually neighborhood fireworks after the 4th at unreasonable hours anyway. There probably will be fireworks all week.

stronghunter said...

Hi, BEagle.

Yes, I expect there will be fireworks here for several days. It was truly like a war zone around here last night. Some really loud booms. I wonder what some people got hold of.

Our family celebration was on Saturday. Will had friends over last night.

Judie said...

Good morning, Shirley and BEagle.

I am up long enough to get some coffee and the newspaper. Then back to bed and maybe a bit more sleep. Feeling better but not 100%.

Relatively quiet around here last night. Heard some fireworks in the neighborhood but not offensive -- except that it is against the law.

LOL and Garten are quiet this a.m. Storm has passed. Our nest MT - missed Palmer's toe dance.

BBL

BEagle said...

It doesn't take much to go across the state border and get the fireworks.
I only get what's allowed in this state....gentle fireworks with really long matches. :)

BEagle said...

Prayers going up for forest fire safety and for Judie to feel better.

BEagle said...

Didn't hear the woodpecker, listening to a teaching about Romans.

Missing a turtle shell. It could have been upended with last night's excitement.

Lynne2 said...

Good Morning all! Can't believe how hot it's going to get this week. Local news weather people are saying up to 100 and change by mid week with return of humidity. There is finally a small chance (30% as of right now) of rain in the form of thunderstorms on Sat. PM. I'm thinking at this point the ground is so dry and hard that a fast, hard rain is going to mostly run off instead of seeping in enough to do much good, but it's something anyway.

VERY CONCERNED ABOUT NORMA.....haven't read recently if anyone has contacted her since Dana did last week. I just looked on Whitepages.com to see if her number is listed, and it is NOT. I am worried about her A/C and wondering if it's been fixed. If not, I don't have much, but I can contribute a few bucks to help get her a room A/C if we can somehow get one to her if that's what she needs. I hate the thought of her not having any relief from the heat this coming week...too dangerous.

stronghunter said...

Lynne, surely the repair people have gotten to Norma by now.

stronghunter said...

I would not want to think of her not having air conditioning in this heat, either.

Lynne2 said...

I would think so too Shirley, but I'd feel a whole lot better if someone called her to check in.

kickngbird said...

Not to be a killjoy, but I thought I might mention that I stayed home last night with my veteran, who spent 14 years serving our country, many of them going on missions as an Army Ranger into some of the most dangerous places that Uncle Sam could think to send him, and he would do it all over again if he could. But he has a touch of PTSD this time of year, as do many vets. The sooner the random fireworks stop, in my opinion, the better.

The organized displays on the night of the 4th are at least in expected places and times, and that can be difficult enough, but the random ones are especially tough on some veterans.

Many vets who had to take cover from small arms fire or mortars or artillery hear this stuff and have automatic tightening in their chests as the old reflex to take cover is still there. Many fireworks sound JUST LIKE sounds of battle. If you've seen a dog or cat react badly to fireworks, you get an idea of the outward expression of the inside turmoil that many veterans go through this time of year.

magpie said...

Not a killjoy at all, Kickngbird,
all that you said is completely understandable...
God Bless your husband, you, and all Military, active, Veterans, and their families...for their precious service and sacrifices to our country and for our freedoms

stronghunter said...

I had not thought about that, KB. My next door neighbor is a vet. We had explosions last night that sounded like dynamite. I know his wife said that he's had some issues before. I would not want him to suffer any stress.

Good morning! Just finished the paper and ready to face a relatively quiet week. Last week was a rainy week for us and a break in the temps. This week looks like the chances of rain are going away, but the temps are going to be regular, no 100's and cloudy. I know all about high temps and no rain, so my sympathies, especially to Megan.

Lolly said...

I just want to say that when I win the lottery we all get new computers. You may write that down and I will sign it!!! I want Norma back on here and miss Lynn!

Margy, so glad you had a great time at GG's with Wanda and family. How neat is that!!!

We went to Light Catcher winery yesterday for an afternoon of fun music (and a little wine and food!)
Did not wear my eagle necklace but wore Jack's that had an eagle and a flag!

BEagle said...

I agree KB...you are not a killjoy. It's good to be reminded of these issues with many veterans.

And as a result, my idea to have even tame fireworks is "canned" since it is out of the normal setting for the 4th.

My neighborhood vets, if there are any so affected, would never want to be a party pooper if at all possible.

BEagle said...

BEagle ailments are past and thanks Magpie.

BEagle said...

The most recent post at the LOL mentions that young osprey learning to fly often visit other osprey nest to see if there is food.

So unlike the Bald Eagle!

There is a piece of plastic tape blowing in the breeze at the Hornby.

The chat is curious too, and doesn't know what to make of it.

Judie said...

Back for a quick visit.

I agree about the fireworks being a potential cause of flashbacks for vets. but also agree that most vets would rather deal with it than stop a celebration of the reason they have PTSD.

Feeling a little better, as I said earlier. Am headed to the kitchen to make cole slaw and do stuff I didn't feel like over the weekend. Also watching a program on tv about Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo (Canadian team serial killers) with some narrative by a former FBI profiler I took classes from.

Margy, how cool to have spent the day with Wanda, Capt. Gene, and GG! So jealous!

Don't know how to contact Norma. Doesn't someone have a phone number, maybe Lynn?

Okay, off to the kitchen.

Norma did have some days of not feeling well but all her friends in Romney had a bout with the same thing.
Nasal and throat ailments.
Lot of the conversation was about Sen Byrd = like Norma says "He was just like family to her".
She sends her love and I sent our right back at her. Love that gal!

Thanks Lynne for getting me going this morning with special things we should do for others!

WOW! This morning I was going to go searching for Anne Marie and FB says:
Anne-Marie Larsen: Im home and tan and burned. have a great time. Pictures to come. what a fantastic time.

Margy, glad you are back online! Hopefully we will see Lynn soon, too. Glad you got to celebrate with Wanda and Crew!

Michael and Laura left around 9:30 this morning, packed them up a cooler full of leftover goodies :)

Glad to hear Palmer's persistence finally paid off...does sound like a record!

My next door neighbor cop and some other neighbors thoroughly enjoyed our illegal fireworks show. All you had to do was look around and you could see plenty of other shows as well.

And thanks to all our past and present military personnel for their service...we all know FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!

Jo, thanks for calling Norma. Good to know that she has at least one working AC. I am reminded that I need to have the people come check my system. The upstairs has always been too hot--both in summer and winter. I wish I'd had two systems installed when I had the house built. I make good use of the ceiling fans, but have never understood when I should reverse the fan direction.

JO, glad you gave Norma a call and all is relatively well. We certainly miss her!

Jo, thanks for calling Norma!! I've got her number now too and will call later today to say HELLO!!

Fun time Margy! Hope Wanda got some pics to post!

KBird...I hadn't really thought about the veterans and the fireworks noise. Thanks for the heads up about that.

It is getting hotter and hotter out there. I still had the upstairs windows open this morning, and had to get Will help me close them.

I went out long enough to put up a new pole for the birdfeeders, and it was a hot job. I used the hose to soften the ground, so it didn't take too long.

Mema Jo said...

KBird - thanks for expressing your thoughts and concerns to us about the fireworks - especially those other than the scheduled ones. I can respect what you are saying..

I am going to have to call the Maytag repair man tomorrow. The dryer is in bad shape. Found a website that explains what the problem probably is: The blower wheel--not a very expensive part, actually.

Mema Jo said...

Shirley parts aren't sometimes expensive - it's the labor they hit you with!

stronghunter said...

True, Jo. I figure it will be at least $50 to have someone come out here, and more if they have to spend much time working on it.

I hear our favorite eagle ♥

Lynne2 said...

I hear a PalmerLarm....

stronghunter said...

Eaglet squeals?

Yes!!

Lynne2 said...

sounds like she's on the cam!

Lynne2 said...

think she took off, saw a branch shadow bounce back and forth...

Lynne2 said...

still close, can hear her!

Lynne2 said...

she's quiet now...hoping to see her but must run to store....

Mema Jo said...

I have not seen one bird at my feeder I'm thinking it is too hot to fly..
Maybe Palmer will come into the nest when the shadows shade her.

BEagle said...

I too think that Palmer will be nearing the comfort of the nest.

It always looks a lot cooler there.

BEagle said...

The current temperature at the Vancouver Airport is 57 degrees.

That would be close to the temperature at the Hornby.

Grrrr

Lynne2 said...

3 more little quakes today, a 1.5 and a 1.6 in Missouri, and a 1.4 in Tennessee. None were terribly deep, but still, so small...wonder if anyone really feels them?

I've seen very few birds today at my feeder, JO.

wanted to say, I really have enjoyed all the family reports here, all the food reports, and the "care packages" (i.e. eat treats, leftovers, etc)
coming in and going out...
and the Palmer reports!

Ribs, by the way, at GG's were out of this world! Tried Judie's first - definitely Yum!
just feeling a little fragile about doing much on internet until I finish getting everything squared away!
Seems that no matter, who has what ailments or tough spots on here, you always come out with positive and encouraging thoughts and Attaboys!
Thanks for checking with Norma, Jo -
...that's so good for us to be kept in the loop...
well, ta ta for now
xoxox ♥

Shirley, I believe blades rotating clockwise cool and rotating counter-clockwise pushes warm air down.

I know about a secret place where a dead dryer can find eternal rest with a dead washer. Even Russian spies cannot find the place.

So glad to hear that Norma is doing okay and that she at least has some relief from the dreadful heat. Hope she can return to us soon. Thanks Jo for checking on her.

Ospreys all still doing well and Phoenix is making plans to depart sometime in the near future.

Made cole slaw and cucumber salad. Washed up everything. How exciting is my life?

No critter activity here except one squirrel at the feeding station. Has to be just too hot. Hope they show up late this afternoon.

Glad to know Anne Marie had a good time and is safely home.

Birds can't smell, right? In the heat of the day I bet the nest with all those nestover remains really Smells!

I am addressing family b-day cards..
Quite a few for this month!

I also have some cards addressed to
Karen - we need to keep her spirits up by letting her know we are thinking about her and praying for her. I'm not sure if she'll have contact with us by Emails if she leaves work.

Just watched Wanda's video of GG's 4th of July get together. GG really looks well and happy with those around her.
Our 3 Momsters and 1 Dadster looked
great. Loved your Slug Ceramic Margy.

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, I think the nest is pretty ripe by now!

Yum, just polished off some cookout leftovers for lunch!

Nice pics from Wanda!

BEagle said...

I knew it. I knew it. I knew it...
that Judie would give a reminder of where that dryer can go. :D

Jo...a worker that cleaned and took care of the cam at the Hornby nest when the eagles left said the smell is staggering. They have cooler temperatures there.

Don't even like to think about it.

BEagle said...

If you think long enough, your lunch may come up if plagued with a weak stomach.

I heard the awfullest smell was a paper mill. I don't know where they get that. When I lived in Kansas near a slaughterhouse, whew, when they burned all that residue and etc. etc.

I better stop...........

Lynne2 said...

and not only SMELL, but flies laying eggs on decay, which hatch into MAGGOTS. EEEWWWWWWWW

I'm leaving now to think pretty thoughts and smell pretty flowers
