Lynn, in answer to your question as to who won the lawsuit...Our attorney offered the M/D $50,000 and they wouldn't accept it, saying the daughter was having terrific headaches. Upon investigation, it was found that the girl had been having headaches all her life! During Gene and my deposition, it was never brought out that in order to not hit the couples car that was sitting in the middle of the bridge (looking at the flood waters) we tried to pass and at that moment, the mother started moving her car and swerved to miss a pothole and we then hit her. When our attorney discovered this, he advised us to threaten to counter-sue and offered them $15,000. They took the money and ran!
Paula...I am so glad your Michael is OK. You must be a wreck, no pun intended.
George....step away from the pizza.
Cinny...stay away from the butterflies.
Wanda...step away from GGs beans!
Jo, dogs and corn...YUMMY!!
Margy, hope you and GS had fun today!
Diann, great news about the shoulder and I hope the pains lessens each day!
Shirley, it's certainly NOT too late to plant! What color BF bush did you get? Looking forward to seeing pictures!
Any word on or from Norma? I sure hope her AC is fixed...here, temps into the upper 90s again by Monday and no rain in sight.
Heading to Irvine tomorrow to help put some meds on one one of the hawks feet, and LOTION on all the birds! I am hoping Virginia the 'possum in on site so I can take some pictures of her...she's too cute!
Steve and friend Dave heading out in the bass boat to the reservoir at dawn to do some fishing for stripers......hope they get some...striper on the grill this weekend would be just scrumptious!
Judy, I'd love the rib recipe, I have NEVER cooked ribs before but I love them!
Wanda, Susan got sued once. At the time, she was still a teenager. The other girl suddenly stopped in front of Susan and Susan rear-ended her. I think the suit was for something like $350,000. Susan's comment was that the only thing she owned was a television and a bedspread. Susan did not even own her car. (It was in my name.) The girl claimed that Susan had caused her to have fibromyalgia, and they ended up getting $80,000.
Seems that the girl was so upset that she drove the car that was in the accident to Richmond where she tried to calm herself with margaritas; then she claimed that it was Susan's fault that she had a headache the next day. Don't really know why her story was bought, but insurance paid it. It felt like a scam to me.
LOL Paula...I sure hope they get some, but they can only keep 2 a piece, and only one over (or under?) 30". If they get some, I think Steve and I will go out Monday morning.
We are having ribs and corn for GG's 4th picnic. Gene does his ribs several different ways. My favorite is when he marinates them overnight, grills them, and then slathers them with Sweet Baby Ray's Spicy BBQ sauce. Tender and juicy!
Wanda, glad that the attorney got the truth and got things more in your favor.........she shouldn't have gotten anything if she swerved to avoid a pothole!
Liberty, Paula. No, they don't stock it...but it's a weird situation because they USED to stock it back in the 80s. Some lakes stock with hybrids, which cannot reproduce, but they put real striped bass from the bay into the reservoir. They knew they'd live, but no one thought they'd be able to reproduce. In the bay, the stripers go up rivers and streams to lay eggs where the water flows over them. THere are no big enough rivers flowing into Liberty (a man made lake) But they DID reproduce! BIG ONES...they once electroshocked part of the lake and pulled up some seriously big, upwards of 50 pounders!! And there have been some real trophies pulled out by fishermen, too, over the years. Then (because you shouldn't mess with mother nature) the bluegill and crappie populations declined as the stripers were eating them. So they then introduced white perch, and they are doing well, too...in fact, I caught a nice 15incher last summer up there! And now you know everything you never wanted to know about the Stripers of Liberty Reservoir!
Lynne, my bigger butterfly bush is "buddleia d royal red--" Reddish purple. The other one is a lighter purple. The small one cost about $9.00. I could get several of those little ones in my car should I decide to. The bigger one was $20.00, and it was a squeeze to get it in a car.
We still haven't planted the first one. I'll need Will to help with that. Hunter and I might be able to plant the small one.
I learned that from the first one I planted, Lynne. I believe that I read that they can grow 10 feet tall. I like to cut the blossoms and put them in a vase. So pretty.
Lynn - the dog is not that bad to need tranquilizers because of the fireworks.
Lynne, thanks for the explanation on Liberty Reservoir...wasn't sure if that's where you went or not...interesting about the rockfish...who knew?! I love perch too, we used to catch those at a saltwater pond at the beachhouse.
All this talk about food I need to stop reading. Have gained an unwanted 75,000lbs just reading. Jo, will send a ribs on the grill ever-so-easy recipe tomorrow.
Going back to watch a bit more t.v.
Am tired so turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others coming in, headed back the hallway, to the shower, to the tub, to the frig for a snack. I know Andy will set our alarm for us. Goodnight, everyone.
Hi, Gang, Made it home from school OK. Think I did OK on the exam. Will find out next Tuesday. Not worried about the transcription, just hope I got the format right.
You guys are making me hungry, with all this talk of pizza, Gene's ribs, Judie's ribs, cucumbers, squash, beans...! My suggestion: homemade potato salad.
Paula, certainly glad that Michael and all others involved were not hurt! Hate that kind of phone call!
Really happy that GG is doing so well, and wants to pick beans. I like to pick beans too, but don't have anywhere to plant them! You go, GG!
Well, think I'll go see what's on the TV. SOOO grateful that the long weekend starts for Hubby and me tomorrow! (He took an extra vacation day.) After the exterminator checks the attic to see if the traps did what they're supposed to do, I have an appt. to get my eyes checked and look for new glasses frames. I'm overdue! Hope they have some nice ones. May not be able to get here until tomorrow afternoon. Don't worry--just a matter of so much to do, with so little time!
Leaving the night light burning brightly. The porch light is automatic. Eye scanner security is enabled. Prayers said for everyone. Have a wonderful night's sleep! Will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you guys. :o]
aww, Dinky IS cute, and he ate all of his fruit flies today according to "auntie Tracey"!
The DNR didn't put the white perch in, they think it was fisherman who were upset about the decline in bluegills and crappies. I put my perch back, we only caught one that day. But I've caught, cleaned (yuk) and eaten yellow perch YUMMMY!
Oh, one more thing to tell you--when I was at the doctor's today, we heard a commotion in the waiting room.
Several women were looking at something on the floor and trying to pick it up with a piece of paper. It was tiny. Nobody would touch it. They were talking about a lizard, and I thought it was a mighty tiny lizard.
Nope. It was a lizard tail. Somebody had grabbed the lizard by the tail and it had shed the tail before they put the lizard outdoors. They got the lizard tail on the paper and put it outside with its owner.
I don't know why someone would grab a tail attached to the lizard, but then not touch the unattached tail. I just laughed and went to the plant store.
Thank you everyone so much for the beautiful birthday greetings - so sorry I could not make it back here to catch the pillow finders...will re-post in the morning...
Your friendship is the greatest birthday gift a person could ask for, and have xoxo
been taking a few quick notes... Paula... so grateful also that your son and the other driver were not hurt...sure can understand how unfamiliar territory can contribute to that kind of incident...the guardian angels seem to have been in place....
then reading the other accident stories on here, oh dear, some difficult and scary moments...
I went fishing for Striper Bass one time...big as they are, I got about one crank in and had to hand the fishing pole over to my fishing partner...wow, they are great on the fixed on the grill though! "Mine" and all the rest seemed to be about 30 inches or so...
Ha Ha, Loretta, I think Frank's intention was to give you a little break from work on that porch
Shirley know you might be gone now...get lots and lots of good rest! 10-years olds can really demand the energy...
James the grandson and I had a stellar couple of days, and I ate too much: hot dogs, hamburger, fresh vegetables, salads, AND birthday cake and ice cream....and a big dose of Vitamins D and K ...good thing I had Bibs to change into...
Anyone headed to the pillows now, hope Sleep is Sweet, and that all your cares, aches, and pains disappear into the cover of darkness xox
James had me buy a bouquet of red, white and blue carnations with some greenery and baby's breath so he could give them to me for my birthday ☺ which reminds me I need to re-do my fingernails for the 4th!
Friday is a State (and County)Holiday because of Senator Byrd's death and funeral services....
Margy, so glad you have had a fun birthday! Sounds like you had lots of goodies---and the flowers "from" James is so precious! Grandkids rock! One more HAPPY BIRTHDAY before the clock strikes MN. At least you won't turn into a pumpkin!!
Before I lay me down to sleep...I'd like to wish my very dear friend, MARGY, A HAPPY BIRTHDAY, what's left of it, and hope this whole year brings her as much joy and happiness as she gives to others♥
Getting really late & finally found the new thread!
Paula, so sorry to read about your son!! So glad he, his friend & other driver are OK! Good Lord was watching!
Margy, sounds like a really super B'Day. You deserve it---so glad you were off work!☺ Since it's getting cooler at night, I went to car last night to get my jacket. Came back up steps to side door and a POINTY NOSE was poking around the back wall of house! I keep telling Racketty that we have no food, but tonight I saw an almost empty suet box on deck that Fubby removed to put new one in holder!! Goodnight all---Pleasant Feather Dreams;>)
Have not had time to read the blog. Will try to catch up sometime. Went to see Toy Story this afternoon. It is really cute and we enjoyed it. Then tonight Laurel and I went to see Eclipse.
It has been a fun day. Shopping in the morning.
So....nite all! Sweet dreams!
Oh, forgot, my little wrens fledged today. Just saw one on the ground and flying low.
Good Fri. AM! TGIF for those of you who must work. Lori, late afternoon--5'ish--is often a nest visit time for Palmer. Can usually hear her coming as she screams her way in! What a bird she is!
I see I missed the adult :( but thanks for your updates BEagle!
I guess it's getting closer and closer to when Palmer will not return. I though I was going to have more computer time to day but I've got a babysitting gig later. Going to water plants in few minutes, then to Irvine for a bit before babysitting.
Good Morning Everyone - I love the mornings when the windows are opened wide and the AC is off! Beautiful morning - Headed out for a few hours in a little bit. I'll be waiting for the recipe if not for the Fourth's picnic then later on. Thanks Lori for the early morning comments.
Gotta get back to work, but wanted to mention I finally got some osprey cam pics on blog & growth of the goslings, etc. at Chelsea farmhouse office. Hope everyone has a great day ☺ BBL~~~~~
News says China thinks something is wrong that Mei can't give birth except for one time. Never said anything about Tian. Why just Mei maybe something is wrong with Tian? ---This is what the news people just said.
by the way, if you have the Chesapeake Bay Foundation calendar, be sure to note July's picture....the first place winning photograph by Bob Quinn !! It's absolutely stunning !
thanks Dana, and BEagle earlier on the Birthday greetings... and everyone else once again...the glow lingers... yes, it was a nice birthday....
Dana, what plans do you have regarding renting a motor home not sure what I missed have a lot of links and pics to check from the past few days... hope to catch up....soon
Lori and Judie Oh, thank you also for the nest reports this morning! empty or full nest, it's good to know about it Enjoy your week-end, Lori! daytime Saturday maybe you can watch more ☺
it's always fun to watch the dancing shadows through the day also
meanwhile, the shadows on the now EMPTY nest sure make it look like a heart...
glad someone had some lunch today, I have to pack mine and head out
Hedgie is without internet possibly until Tuesday, but Frontier, who has now taken over for Verizon hereabouts, says it could "pop back on anytime." "some sort of glitch in the system"
Lynn has regular phone and cell phone, but no internet :( same thing could probably happen here at THIS roost
Sissy that is a great picture of you and Tom...early Happy Anniversary Wishes to you both ♥ ♥
Best wishes for a great Friday afternoon and evening everyone
Good Friday afternoon everyone. Hope everyone has a safe and fun- filled July 4th weekend.
Mike left yesterday for Virginia and will stay with his sister in Chesapeake but is only a phone call away if he's needed. One more to go though that'll be a while, he's only working as a temp.
Mamma never told me there'd be days like this .....♪♫♪♫
Hi, Everyone, Back from the eye doctor's. Having to type by braille--eyes are still dilated. (Don't you HATE that?!) Can't read worth a doggone, so will catch up later. A panda nap in a dark room sounds really good right now. Did find a nice pair of glasses frames! They are silver wire and the ear pieces are a bit wider, and sort of a grayish blue color. Getting progressive lenses, and transitions, too. VSP insurance made it manageable. Also getting my old Rx sunglasses updated, so I can wear them to do gardening and for driving. Thank God, my eyes are very healthy! No sign at ALL of any diabetes complications. Just the very, very beginning of cataracts, but totally normal for my age. Not a problem yet at all. Well, heading for a panda nap. Promise I'll catch up on the blog as soon as I'm able to actually read something. BBL.... :o}
Enjoy the play Judie. I have been watching promos for Mary Poppins. Hunter was with me when they showed the scene with Mary flying over the audience. I said "Wow!" Hunter said "Wires, Grandma. People can't really fly."
I said that I thought it would be scary to be lifted up like that, but Hunter assured me that it would be okay because they hold on really tight. I love having conversations with children.
Susan and I were supposed to be talking about a play, but I think I have dropped the ball on that conversation. Mary Poppins would be fun.
Looks like a very slow day on here. Hello everyone!
Laurel and the boys have gone home, but we are headed up that way tomorrow. ☺ And, Michael and family might be there as well! Sure hope so. Going to grill hamburgers and then go to the fireworks at North Texas Univ. Stadium. At 8:00 Joey is singing one song and the Natl. Anthem as Elvis. His Elvis program for this year is Aug 14. They thought this would be good advertisement for the 14th.
Laurel and I had fun shopping today. We both got new swimsuits as well as a few other things.
Not only did Granddaddy boysit he prepared a luscious breakfast.
Paula, just read your account of Michael's accident. So thankful that all concerned were unharmed. I imagine you did loose it looking at picture. OMG....how scary!!
Andy, for having dilated eyes, you sure type perfectly!
Michael's GF is driving him down for the weekend and they are staying til Monday. I thought that was very sweet of her...she offered. They'll be here tomorrow night...gotta call John and see when he's not working...
if there was a quake (and little ones happen a lot) it'll be posted to my email. I have the USGS email updates sent to me for any major quake in the world, and any quake of any magnitude in the US. It's just one of those quirky nature geek things I watch.
I was talking to my brother on the phone, he asked me what that noise was! Was I outside? I told him no, that was a hungry eagle calling for her dinner!
Good Evening... Just trying to catch up on the day. Kinda quiet today. Reading about George fussing at Shirley, reminds me of the time my granddaughter's cat, Amazing Grace, bit her. She got so angry that she put the cat outside and wouldn't let her back in. A. Grace came back home 5 days later and pregnant;) She had one kitten:)

Thanks.
Jo, I have a really easy way to prepare ribs on the grill. No pre-cooking. Can use dry rub/sauce, both, whatever. Foolproof.
Hope it went well, Steve.
Thanks for the new thread...we were still stuck on Tuesday!
Oops, forgot my manners.
Thank you, Steve.
I hear Palmer throwing a hissy fit!
Thanks for the thread, Steve, and for the call-over, Judie and Wanda.
From the old thread . . .
Enjoyed my pizza supper.
Hunter is coming tomorrow to spend the day, so I can take him to get signed up for football.

I hear Palmer.

Poor Nugz...can you get a tranquilizer from your vet for the weekend Paula, just to take the edge off?
Yes, Jo, the picture in the paper is the mother and daughter that was in the car that we hit.
Bad, bad memories:(
Thank goodness they have stopped!
He's not that bad yet...Lynn.
Lynne, I will be over to help you eat those stripers! Good luck to Steve!
Sue just posted on FB that "Hope made a big move today, more later"
Wanda, Susan got sued once. At the time, she was still a teenager. The other girl suddenly stopped in front of Susan and Susan rear-ended her. I think the suit was for something like $350,000. And Lynn, better butterflies than birds! I found another bird in the yard this week...3 so far this year. :(
LOL Paula...I sure hope they get some, but they can only keep 2 a piece, and only one over (or under?) 30". If they get some, I think Steve and I will go out Monday morning.
Oh, there are plenty of insurance scammers out there.

Certainly glad his car had air bags.
Lynne, good that you came back and tried again! Have fun tomorrow!!
Which reservoir, Lynne? Do they stock it?
This girl had been in a number of accidents, and had even rolled a car. Not sure why Susan was chosen as the one to cause the illness.
Yeah, I hope Michael did not hit a scammer, Paula. It's traumatic enough without having to deal with a lawsuit.

Sounds pretty Shirely! Just remember, mine was about a foot last year and it's almost 5ft now! And spread out about 4ft! Plant accordingly!
Paula, pic of Steve with a little striper and newspaper pic of big'un on blog.
I learned that from the first one I planted, Lynne. I believe that I read that they can grow 10 feet tall. I like to cut the blossoms and put them in a vase. So pretty.

oh Judie please send to me too!!!! thanks!! Hope you don't break the bed frame, you know, with all that weight you've gained tonight!
Beautiful avatar, Paula.
Judie, I want the recipe, too. Will is my griller, and he loves ribs. That reminds me that we haven't done Paula's bacon-wrapped shrimp this summer.

I'm going to call it a night and head upstairs. See you all tomorrow as much as possible. I will be visiting with Hunter.
You probably ACED your test, Andy! Glad hubby has taken the extra day off!
Have fun with Hunter!
Going to have some ice cream and go to bed. Will probably break MY bed frame....
Prayers for all and thank you GOD for keeping Michael safe!

Thank you Steve - I've been checking most of the day! Hope that the conference went well. Thanks for the call over.....
Watched my Mystery show and hubby is taping the Royal Pains.
Glad you're back on Lynne.
If I get the recipe from Judie I will forward to you all.
With all your suggestions I should be able to have a 4th of July feast.
Thanks.....

Getting tired here and will send Jim to bed and I'll get comfy in my recliner.
We'll have a plumber here in the am to give us an estimate on replacing our furnace. Not something we want to do, just need to do.
So goodnight dear friends. Pleasant dreams. Prayers for all wants/needs and thanks for all answered prayers.

Getting really late & finally found the new thread!
Paula, so sorry to read about your son!! So glad he, his friend & other driver are OK! Good Lord was watching!
Margy, sounds like a really super B'Day. You deserve it---so glad you were off work!☺
Since it's getting cooler at night, I went to car last night to get my jacket.
Just missed you Lolly
was just thinking about you and your two-movie dates !
Good Night...

I think some recipes are going to be shared here and there

Good Morning Best Eagle People!
NO PALMER IN NEST at 5:50 THIS MORNING.
Darn it! I miss seeing the beautiful baby when she's not there in the morning.
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANOTHER REGULAR TIME SHE'S showing UP AT THE NEST?
Good Fri. AM! TGIF for those of you who must work.
Lori, late afternoon--5'ish--is often a nest visit time for Palmer. Can usually hear her coming as she screams her way in! What a bird she is!
Would you believe....I have the heater on here in ther kitchen??? It is downright chilly!!
Speak of the devil-----she's in the sycamore....come on down to the nest, Palmer!
Well, guess she was just in for a minute. No sign or sounds now.
Time to finish getting ready to get out of here. Later, eagle dudettes and dudes.
Adult in the nest.
Adult has a meal.
Good morning everybody.
Adult is crunching and munching.
Adult is nestorating.
Just saw something fly over. So did adult.
Lib keeps picking up the rest of the fish.
Now gone. And I don't know if he took the remaining fish. It's hard to see through the shadows if he left the fish there or not.
Well, that was the early show. It's not much but it IS something. And now the 8:00 train whistle blows.
Reading back a little, I see Margy had a birthday. Trust it was good. May you have many more.
Prayers going up for Paula and her boy, for no repercussions and good health.
Now to go get busy.
Good morning, everyone.
Shirley, enjoy the day with Hunter.
Diann, sure hope replacing the furnace will be less expensive than you expect.
Margy, I think James was too sweet to have you buy your birthday flowers. Enjoy!
MT Nest. Isla eating, EJ absent, all chicks okay, Phoenix looking over the land.
Coffee and news for me. Then I'll get the recipe to you all.
Good BEAUTIFUL COOL LOVELY Morning!

Just remembered Lori's question about the time of day when Palmer may be at nest.
I think times vary as much as white feathers on eaglets.
A good guess would be up to two hour on either side of noon. That's a lot of time to try checking in. Maybe someone else has more accurate timing.
Hi everyone,
Have sent the ribs recipe via email. If anyone spots a problem, let me know. Not used to typing recipes.
Quiet here. Will do some reading today which has started out as sunny and blessedly cool.
Got the recipe and it looks like I could handle those ribs! Thanks Judie

News says China thinks something is wrong that Mei can't give birth except for one time. Never said anything about Tian. Why just Mei maybe something is wrong with Tian? ---This is what the news people just said.
Checking to rent 19 ft. motorhome. Seems like everyone else has too. Not too many dates left and the ones left doesn't give me enough time grrrrr
Good Morning more Eagle People ☺
by the way, if you have the Chesapeake Bay Foundation calendar, be sure to note July's picture....the first place winning photograph by Bob Quinn !!
It's absolutely stunning !

hope to catch up....soon
must get some mail out
will check back in a bit
Well it's been about an hour since a posting so there's been no site of Palmer.
Just a nice breezy nest with shadows of branches fanning it. I still see three turtle shells.
On Hedgie's post about the rehab eagle, one of the pictures has and eagle holding a turtle.
That was an interesting report and also what to do when you spot a banded eagle.
Lori and Judie
Oh, thank you also for the nest reports this morning!
empty or full nest, it's good to know about it
Enjoy your week-end, Lori!
daytime Saturday maybe you can watch more ☺
it's always fun to watch the dancing shadows through the day also
Hi BEagle...
quick nap time, working a 4-12 shift tonight
xo
I swear that bird is hilarious! If I was that parent, I would have pecked her on the head!!!
Oh yeah, Hi ya'll!!
wELL, I was way off on another page doing golf, when I heard Palmer calling loudly.
Tuned in in time to see her fly off again, but before I could start a comment here, she was calling again..
This time she was mantling a large fish that Lib had brought her. He was still in the nest, but he took off almost immediately.
Good to see her again.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Well, she's finished her lunch, and she's off again.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Sorry I missed all the action. Glad Palmer had some lunch!
I missed the party!
While I was out screaming at the traffic, Miss Palmer was screaming on the nest.
Thanks for the posts Jim and EESissy!
Only her mother knows what to do with her.
meanwhile, the shadows on the now EMPTY nest sure make it look like a heart...
glad someone had some lunch today, I have to pack mine and head out
Hedgie is without internet
possibly until Tuesday, but Frontier, who has now taken over for Verizon hereabouts, says it could "pop back on anytime."
"some sort of glitch in the system"
Lynn has regular phone and cell phone, but no internet :(
same thing could probably happen here at THIS roost
Sissy that is a great picture of you and Tom...early Happy Anniversary Wishes to you both ♥ ♥
Best wishes for a great Friday afternoon and evening everyone
ttfn xo
PS Paula
That is a great eagle picture on your avatar !
I like the one Wanda put back on also !
okay bye
The TH nest has both eaglets in site.
One is mantling and dismantling a fish.
The smaller is trying to snag the food and now there is a big fight.
The big one won.
What a surprise, the smaller TH actually managed to tear off some food. Both are eating. Go get 'em tiger!
Phoenix is making chortling noises while being fed. Just like Palmer.
The LOL nest is very windy today. Just two chicks at the moment. They should stay low so the wind doesn't pick them up.
Mamma never told me there'd be days like this .....♪♫♪♫
Haven't seen anything happening at the nest. Been working but near the screen.
Maybe there will be supper activity.
Hi, Everyone,
Back from the eye doctor's. Having to type by braille--eyes are still dilated. (Don't you HATE that?!) Can't read worth a doggone, so will catch up later. A panda nap in a dark room sounds really good right now. Did find a nice pair of glasses frames! They are silver wire and the ear pieces are a bit wider, and sort of a grayish blue color. Getting progressive lenses, and transitions, too. VSP insurance made it manageable. Also getting my old Rx sunglasses updated, so I can wear them to do gardening and for driving. Thank God, my eyes are very healthy! No sign at ALL of any diabetes complications. Just the very, very beginning of cataracts, but totally normal for my age. Not a problem yet at all. Well, heading for a panda nap. Promise I'll catch up on the blog as soon as I'm able to actually read something. BBL.... :o}
Hi everyone,
Forgot that tonight is Kennedy Center - Mary Poppins. So, I'll catch up later.
Have a nice evening.
Hello,
Enjoy the play Judie.
Checking on the LOL nest. The chicks are practicing winging it. What I notice is they take turns when they practice.
Palmer has announced her arrival.
Palmer just showed.
She is fussing. There is noise coming from the cam area.
Quite an entrance that child makes!
I dropped everything trying to get to the blog. Yikes.
I don't know what just rocked the nest.
Anybody with a good idea?
Almost like a quake.
Didn't see it, BEagle.
At first I thought something hit the tree pretty hard.
Palmer just flew off.
Palmer just took off.
Maybe one of the parents landed on the camera and shook it?
poof
It shook again! Just a wee bit though.
Well, dern...missed it!
The cam wasn't shaking, the tree was.
Could tell by the ground below.
I hear a lot of cam clunking...think our baby is up there
Something just banged against something. LOL
I'm watching now.
Well one of their birds is close.
Maybe a bear climbed up the tree. lol
That is a very large tree.
Godzilla?
Aw man, just missed Palmer...was out watering.
Didn't find anything about an earthquake. Doesn't take long for things like that to get posted.
Here's some drinks for the weekend :)
10 American themed cocktails for July 4th
At first I thought a truck may have backed into it.
Now we know it wasn't a quake.
could have been some other kind of tremor caused by something.
Ah, Palmer is close by!
I'm surprised no one else saw it. I don't see how the eagle above could have moved that tree like that.
I hear the PalmerLarm!
Wish we had a cam on the whole tree. How cool that would be!
May it WAS Godzilla!
Maybe she shook the cam, making it look like the tree shook.
Then again, it could be little Hope climbing the tree.
I know, I know! Jo has finally decided to go after the turtle shell!!!! Jo is climbing the tree.
That's "MayBE"
I think it's Jo. Keep your eyes peeled for a hand appearing from below.
A cam to zoom out would be very nice indeed. Like the Hampton or Hornby or PH nests.
At the same time the tree shook, there was thunder but the sun was shining.
Uh, oh! Hope Jo did not fall.
lol
Jo's going to have fun when she gets back on.
I think Palmer has the impression that she can be heard better when higher up.
I know Jo is powerful, but I do not think she could shake that tree. If you heard a sound like thunder, maybe something did happen below the tree.
Russian spies trying to uproot the tree?
We may never know.
I hope nothing bad happened.
Did the Russian spys get Jo?
I hear Palmer ♥
I think she is on the cam branch...just saw a big wiggle.
The turtle shell could have been planted by the spies. When Jo tried to get it the spies got her.
Okay. I just saw the tree shake again.
It's the eagles doing it.
Good golly, you must think I'm nutty!
Wonder if she flew off? Quiet now.
Okay, okay. It was a big wiggle rather than a shake.
I was talking to my brother on the phone, he asked me what that noise was! Was I outside? I told him no, that was a hungry eagle calling for her dinner!
The TH, PH, and WE nests are on one page with the chat on the side.
http://www.iws.org/bald_eagles/nestchat.html
Judie will have a field day with this. We'll tell her we are collaborating on a spy novel.
Russian spies trying to attack the symbol of our country on the eve of the eve of July 4.
We need input from the others, especially Jo and Judie, the "J Ladies."
The eagles are shaking the tree to scare away the Russians.
The Russians think they have first "dibs" on the turtle shells.
Look under your beds!! You never know where they might be.
Oh my, George is in a mood. He hissed at me. Now he is glaring at me.
He bit at me, too. He doesn't bite down, just acts like he wants to.
Give that kitty some catnip!
That might not work. George is a mean drunk. Catnip makes him evil.
Mean? With that sweet kitty face?
He went over and munched on my pizza crumbs and is lying in the kitchen. I think I'll leave him be for now.
Okay, I sprayed a little catnip on his scratching post, and he is enjoying it. Taking out his aggression on the scratching post.
Spray catnip is a good thing.
I have catnip growing in my herb garden. Annie likes to roll on it.
