Little touch of insomnia so I came to my computer. Heard what I thought was a talon scratching an itch but didn't want to type that one because it's a very subtle thing. Then the very definite sound of eagle calling out 2 or 3 times - I was too excited and trying to log in my password to be able to count at the same time I was typing, but it was more than one call.
I'm heading back to bed too. But I'm hoping this means Palmer is either in or near the nesting tree.
It sounds like it's getting windy and maybe there's rain on the way - one of the parents could be alerting Palmer that it's time to get ready because perching in the rain is different than plotzing in the nest in the rain.
I have no idea what I'm talking about, but I like to comfort myself with these ideas that good things are going on with our little family. Especially as I'm going back to bed. :)
This is to be my last day at work. I have bridge tonight. I am hoping to finish everything today so I do not have to go in tomorrow. I still have a lot to do, but some of it involves my dual enrollment students and work I can complete at home.
It's 3:45 where I live, and I really am going back to bed this time. Really. This time I mean it. As long as I don't hear any more sounds from the nest.
Hope you can finish everything so this can be your last day! Good luck with that, and with bridge!
Much to do here today. I have to figure out how to combine my grade with the grade from another teacher two students had fall semester. Have to talk to the computer just right.
More research papers to grade.
Room to clean up for the summer.
Grade reports to turn in.
Goodness knows what else will pop up!
But right now, I have George at my side. In fact, he is so close I am having trouble operating my mouse.
Heard the rustle of what sounded like eagle feathers or something like that.
Oh yes, at last count, three surveys to complete. That seems to be the latest thing. They keep sending surveys. Computers do lots of work for us, but they give us more work to do in return.
Just read the latest update from the dual enrollment person. Information on how to write a syllabus for next fall. The cycle just keeps on cycling. I am not quite ready to think about fall classes. I still do not know if I will have my dual enrollment class in the fall or the spring.
Happy last busy day, Shirley.... - I probably just missed you, was reading about the Eagle sounds that bridge game will be most welcome tonight hope all goes well yes, raining, no hail at the nest
Good Morning Eagle ♀'s and ♂'s best wishes for a good day
Good morning everyone. Will today be the day that our Palmer checks in. I am so wanting to see hear or read that on here. Maybe its time for another local to make a trip over near there and see who they might see.
Comet McNaught (C/2009 R1) is gliding through the inner solar system, due to approach our planet only 100 million miles away on June 15th and 16th. The approaching comet looks great in small telescopes, and may yet become a naked-eye object before the end of the month. Because this is Comet McNaught's first visit, predictions of future brightness are necessarily uncertain; amateur astronomers should be alert for the unexpected.
Mema Jo, I have been on prednisone after some surgeries, and it was not fun. I would not be able to sleep for a couple of days and I ate everything in sight. :(
Oh my goodness. Reading back only to find that people are smelling both ends, feeling all over, and there is concern about mold, mildew, ticks, a split and a plug. I'm headed for a shower.
Wanda, I do hope the basement at GG's is cleaned quickly. Perhaps a good cleaning upstairs is all that's needed? Maybe she will stay with you if you say is just long enough to get the house cleaned up.
Diann, please take it easy with that shoulder. Give it time to heal and glad you're having the doctor check on it.
Ragdoll, enjoy your first day of freedom.
Shirley, hurry and get everything done so you can join me and Ragdoll in our joyous freedom.
Oh, Shirley, enjoy bridge night.
Still no live feed for me. Sure hope someone else is watching if/when Palmer returns.

eagle calls
I am hearing an eagle/eaglet call this morning. Just woke me up.
Nobody in the nest though. Going back to bed. Good morning kickingbird.
I'm more inclined to say it was an eagle call because I've never heard that kind of sound come out of Palmer.
Good morning Sharon!
I'm heading back to bed too. But I'm hoping this means Palmer is either in or near the nesting tree.

Oh wait, there's the eagle call again - 3 times.
I keep trying to tear myself away but I can't.
Heard the call just barely.
Good morning!
Sheesh - I REALLY need my beauty sleep.

Trying to get an early start this morning.
Good morning! Welcome to the Late, Late, Late Show. All sound, with Spidey test pattern
I see no sign of an eagle in the nest, but it is dark and webby.
Or, the early, early, early show. Almost 5:00 AM here.

Nighty night now, for real this time! :)

I hear my radio come on. I am supposed to be waking up now.
"Radio coming on," that is.
Quiet now at the nest, but I am sure I heard one of the eagles land somewhere nearby.
Yes, I think what I heard awhile ago was one of the adult eagles, KB.
More birdies are singing in the nest area now. Morning is about to break.
Now I hear birds outside my window. A mockingbird, I think.
I think KB is really gone now. Sleep well! I hope you can sleep in today.
Spidey making his/her rounds. Maybe getting ready to shut down for the day.
Need to go shower and get ready for the day myself.
More eagle sounds.

Just heard the eagle call again but still no eagle/eaglet in tht nest. Back to bed now.
Sky is getting light here. I must get on with my day. Things to do.
Raining at the nest. Some rain here as well.
***********
Good Ni ... Morning
***********
I'm about to shut down. There's no Palmer or adult in the nest.
I can hear wind, possibly rain drips ... two or three kinds of song birds. But nothing right now I can ID as an eagle.
The rain is coming down definitely now. Getting louder and louder. Might be hail bouncing off the black tape and tree trunk...not sure.
I AM going to shut down now, so good night.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Good night, Jim. Very late for you there. Rest well.
Getting ready to head out to work.
Hope to see Palmer later today.
Plenty of evidence that eagles are nearby.
Happy last busy day, Shirley.... - I probably just missed you, was reading about the Eagle sounds

a crow and a pileated woodpecker sounds
Mema Jo, I have been on prednisone after some surgeries, and it was not fun. I would not be able to sleep for a couple of days and I ate everything in sight. :(
There is definitely something near the camera, moving it a little bit.
I hear a woodpecker . .
Did you hear that???
Good morning, everyone.
