We were on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway the other week, and had a great time. Here's a shot taken by my daughter as we head downriver from Long Lake Dam Campsite.
From Hornby: We all wondered what would happen to the unhatched egg and today around 10 AM Mom Hornby answered the question. The egg was most likely cracked or broken and Mom consumed the contents. She did not eat the shell, but moved it aside. Although the stick was blocking the view, Mom's actions were clear.
I had stopped in Boonsboro at the Cronise Market and got cantaloupe and strawberries and a new hanging basket (my other two were dying out) Cantaloupe is good but next month the Boonsboro lopes will be in - you can't beat them. That is where I had purchased the carved wooden eagle for the raffle..Let me know if anyone is interested in them (painted or plain) so I can inquire about the price and then order in time to have for October. Hedgie and I need to also check out another Eagle Carving place - we just haven't taken the time to do it.
Today going thru Boonsboro I saw (did not smell - windows were up with AC on) the storefront of the Bakery that was on FB...... Like it is right next to the Inn of Boonsoboro that is on the corner.......
Megan if you come to the Nest with your Red Market Truck - I may buy some more tomato plants...
I clicked on it. Brought me to where I could subscribe. Makes sense. LOL. Asked about toolbar. I clicked out. Nothing exciting. I just started on here in Feb. I'm still learning.
Hi, Everyone, Good night, Shirley! Enjoy the graduation tomorrow!
Can't wait to see what's going on tomorrow--what time do I need to be on the computer? Is it 7 am Calif. time, or 8 am? Oh, and did someone mention a toast to Deb? When will that be?
Couldn't believe how MANY birds showed up for dinner here tonight! Must've had about 50 sparrows & finches, 8 Mourning doves, 3 Band-Tailed Pigeons, 4 orioles, and 3 hummers! Sure are fun to watch. The wing noises are deafening when the whole bunch gets spooked and takes off at the same time! BTW, Lynn, if I really want to study hard, I have to sit with my back to the windows!
Hubby & I will have to go to Wal-Mart really early tomorrow so we get back in time to get on the computer. Hope you guys take tons of pictures!
Well, better get ready to hit the sack. Need some good sleep tonight. Praying for a safe journey for all you travelers to the nest, and for all other needs, too. Leaving the night light on for others, and the porch light is on, too. The eye scanner security is enabled. Sleep well, everyone! God bless, and good night. Love all of you! :o]
Was over on Larry's Loon Log Today is day 37 for the first egg that was laid and day 35 for the second egg that was laid.
We are now almost certainly beyond the dates that we can expect a successful hatch from the remaining egg. But we will wait for a few days yet to see if they continue to stay on the nest and incubate the egg
Well Lolly - I think you can now give Laurel and Jack you full attention!
Talk with you tomorrow! I will give Norma hugs, I will drink the "Palmer" I'll even eat some of the dessert cakes on the table! Love Ya! Oh yes, Tell Laurel for me that I think she is raising two very fine sons!
OK, the Bacon Pasta is all made and ready to be popped into the slow cooker in the morning to heat it up and keep it warm:) Hot dogs are in the sink, thawing out. Capt. Gene has sodas and plenty of water in the freezer. If I can find a large container, I will make some iced tea in the morning.
Time to lay this body down to sleep.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS FOR ALL
Okay, I am going to bed. We have the buns purchased, hot dog and hamburger. I have some watermelon cut up. Have to get up in 5 1/2 hours to leave at 6. So, good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur! Can't wait to see you all tomorrow! Love you!
Palmer was very active and looking as though she might leave when I first opened the site this A.M.; then it looked like she would settle down; then she got very active with the flying the length and bredth of the nest again.......
Hope somebody has her video capture software on early this morning just in case.
GOOD MORNING!!! Can't stay, gotta get moving...just checking to make sure the Palmer is still home! Adult in nest, lots of noise....I GOTTA GO see you later!
Hope is growing. We don’t know her weight but we estimate 20-25 pounds. She’s not sick so that’s not the reason Lily abandoned her. Our best guess is pure speculation that Lily had not yet developed a sense of responsibility as a parent. There are many stories of mothers being disturbed in dens and abandoning the cubs. Yet other mothers that are disturbed return. Lily was disturbed by bears and didn’t return. Are the bears that don’t return young bears, bears with especially fearful personalities, or is some other factor involved? We’re looking forward to seeing how Lily does the next time around.
Good Evening Everybody! Sorry getting back on here so late~~busy, busy, busy. I put several Visit pics in the Momsters album.(Don't know whether to put on Blog or not-same difference.) Saw Paula's pic of raining leaving NCTC yesterday. Where is ours??????? I'm sick of getting out watering can every evening when I thought Mother Nature would do it for me!

Palmer's spending a lot of time at the launch pad, sampling the wind, doing little practice flights.
I think it's this morning. Just a matter of when...

Good morning! You all hurry to the nest. Palmer is on the edge of the nest and doing little flights. She is waiting for you!
Have an especially good day.
Hi, Jim.
Must go. I will be back around noon.
Wishing those headed to the sycamore anunforgetable time together with Palmer today and of course the host and hostess Liberty and Belle
Palmer has been delivered breakfast. That should hopefully keep her on the nest this morning.
Exactly my thoughts Glo... that food is a good place-holder...at least for awhile
Still cam and live feed working to perfection this morning ! hearing all those little chirpy birds too
Belle and Liberty must know what's UP with the nest visit...
Good Morning and Happy Trails to all
going to catch a few winks and get up in a few hours to watch and listen some more
xo
black bear cub in our county kept on the move, DNR said it just was trying to "get out of town" and for everyone to leave it alone ☺
Good morning Magpie. I was sorry to read you can't make it to the nest for a while this morning.
GOOD MORNING!!! Can't stay, gotta get moving...just checking to make sure the Palmer is still home! Adult in nest, lots of noise....I GOTTA GO see you later!
Morning all. Getting ready here.
Another food drop. And Palmer is NOISY!
Oh-oh....t-storms between 1 and 3!!
Good Morning! See Palmer & parent having breakfast.
Gotta get ready to hit the road. See some of you there!! ☺
Wanda, if you are still here....Steve remembers that Capt Gene is a War buff and he is bringing his favorite Civil War book to lend him!
NOISY BIRD.
OK, we are heading down the road in 5 minutes....safe travels all! And you'll be with us in spirit everyone who can't be there!

Safe travels for all. Sweet sleep for Margy. Good day for all. Listen for a honk at 11!!
Talk to you much later.
Good Morning! Palmer is still in that nest eating with the adult!
Perhaps the "chance of thunderstorms
1-3" won't even develop! Just stay tight Palmer - I am soon on my way!
Good advice the DNR gave about the bear - Margy!
She is lying low and looking for her company! Please Stay.
I am almost on my way!
Got my oxygen & I am out the door.
Stay 35 more 40 Min or so PALMER!
Love all you Momsters/Dadsters!
New thread is up!
