we put another bluebird house up in the back field yesterday and this morning the other male was sitting on it singing away! Sure hope there is an unattached female around for him to love!
I am so glad to hear the Liesl is eating nd drinking and seems to be settling in Hedgie...I hope you are doing well too.
Thanks for the morning report of Truder's two visits. I missed them.
I am off to yoga and some health food store shopping so I will talk to you all later and catch up with the blog on my return. It is a beautiful sunny day here and the skies are blue...lovely simply lovely, a walk is in order.
Thx, Lynne. I guess I can use all of those. Don't really know what the last one is!☺ Was back reading early posts.
Glad Daisy came home! And Liesl had a drink! Lolly, hope hail didn't do too much damage & so glad about Joseph's sports opportunities. Jr. High son of naturalist, Stephanie, at Park is going to a baseball camp where they have scouts! He will be healed by then from pelvic fracture he got playing basketball!!Always something! Love "Paula's Paradise"! Very cloudy and cool here--don't know about rain. Should get to work for a few hours.
Well that bird will just have to wait. As I was reading older comments. I was making comments:
That was so cute about Nick Cannon going to wrong ward due to his excitement. lol Don't you just love that kind of excitement?
Lynne2 hoping Daisy comes back soon. As I hear now she has.
WOW Lynn-Hedgie Leisl slept all night!! Sounds like doing her business outside. She is getting a start of things. So she finally drank, and is enjoying a tennis ball. I love the comment about you and her on the couch. Now that is what I call "Puppy Love" ( :
Lolly sorry about your beautiful lawn.
Wondering where Margy is at a Yard Sale/Flea Market at???????? How you suppose to see what she is selling if you don't know where it is lol
Oh Sissy that lonely feeling you have for Tom. I can truly relate BIG TIME. I am so glad that he will be returning soon. So you two can talk, laugh, and just be together. I know you have missed him.
Thanks Steve for the fresh thread Hey Loretta - thanks for the call over - Did Frank see anything he wants at the car show the other day?
LYNNE - you had me worried.. was thinking Daisy had dug a hole where she escapes! lol
Lacey & Lilly - Sure do wish for a wider range cam. There is suppose to be a video of yesterday's frolicking posted by Colleen K Goulding on her page. However I think the url will be also on the info beneath the cam as she uses twitter.......
I just can't figure out what to do about buying a pair of shoes.
I can't find a pair this year. That doesn't cause after a week or so back and bone problems. Don't need lots of support in them. That causes more problems. 5th pair of shoes have brought taken 4 back. Different name brands grrrr
Didn't figure out yesterday why I've had to use the walker. Until got home and just went barefooted.
For some reason I can't get some camera today the Ustream sites come up with a explanation point in middle of cirle where the play arrow should be Decorah and Maine both will try later
yeah finally got them up odd how I got the same stupid screen as I did on both Ok I got to watch the time I was late coming back from lunch yesterday so BBL before I get involved with anything else I think SSCC is Sunrise Sycamore Cafe Club
Thanks JudyE about the Sunrise Cafe..don't think I'll make it lol
The cam I love and used to always get ... never can anymore. Which makes me sad is Connecticut Milford Osprey cam. I have always loved that cam. Just can't figure out how I can get all these others and not this one anymore.???
Busy on a phone call from Bragg Bunch. Pretty day down there.
I see some children in with the horses... Lilly follows them I see the dog, Glo looking thru the fence. Lilly is doing a complete roll over Such fun.........
I will enjoy seeing Lacey's 2 brothers when they meet Lily.
Almost time for me and Liesl to head to our final planning meeting for the Open House. See you all later this afternoon. Just found you on new thread! Hope I can catch up when we get home!!!
Candy Norrell Our son, Josh, now has a Mrs. Norrell in his life; a wonderful girl names Shelly. They eloped this morning and I am so excited that I am flying high with the eagles! We couldn't be happier and we wish them all the best for the rest of thier lives.! Congratulations, you two!
Contrgualtions to JOSH & SHELLY and to the new Mother-In-Law Candy and Father-In-Law....WAY TO GO JOSH !!! ( : Candy so happy happy happy happy for you lady
WOW all kinds of things happening around....I found a way to get The Osprey Cam at Milford Connecticut. My sweet Lola and Kidd....it worked it worked it worked. If anyone needs to know I can email them how to do it..almost 2 yrs in the making
Lynn - Glad to hear Liesl had a first good night and is adjusting well so far. Amazing about the cardinal nest! That is just like us to pospone things if there is a mother expecting babies. Would love to see baby cardinals. Must be awesome
Lynne2 - Sorry your knees are killing you. You worked too much yesterday. Glad Daisy came back, too! Sounds like it's happened before!
Lolly - Congrats on your grandson, Joseph and his soccer opportunities. More running around for Mom and Dad, but sports is so good for them. So sorry the hail did a number on your roof and lawn. We had a bad hail storm that did lots of damage last year. We lost hundreds of tomatoes in our garden, not to mention everything else and structural damage to the house.
Paula - I am sure things are looking great up at your beach house. The hard work will pay off when you can go there and RELAX!!
Jo - Just love seeing little Lilly running around and playing. So cute. Thanks for sharing that cam the other day.
Saw our first male hummingbird today at the feeder!! Finally we're seeing signs of spring in Northeast PA!! Yipee!
SSCC stands for Sycamore Sunrise Cyber Cafe, so named by founder and #1 Barista, Lori.
Lynn, so thrilled with your report on Liesl, sleeping through the night is really rather amazing since it's her first night away from her sis and the foster home she's accustomed to. You absolutely must have a way with animals and have put her at ease very quickly !
Lolly, so, so sorry about the hail damage. Hope the fix is not terribly expensive. Must thank you again for getting me revved up about the walking dvd. We expect rain every day but Weds. this week. No walking outside. Glad there is only a basement with storage units underneath me !
Bird lovers, here is a little joke Seth told me today:
A park ranger is explaining the difference between a raven and a crow. "A raven has six pinions on each wing, and a crow has five pinions on each wing. So really it's just a matter of a pinion."
Hi all! Home from church and it is going to be a lazy day. House is clean and can not work outside. Well, shucks...I just have to be lazy! LOL
Kay, I am so pleased that you like the walking indoors with the DVD. We really like it. Do not have to get dressed to go anywhere, do not have to worry about traffic or weather, do not have to have a treadmill...just walk and step right at home. And, it works. My goal was 20 lbs this time and I am now down 22!
Jo, I love watching Lacey and Lily Grace! How much longer is Lacey going to chase after Lily Grace? Too funny, that Momma is so good, but she is going to be worn out! And, that dog outside the fence is almost as tall as Lily Grace.
Sharon, just texted me. They have arrived safely at Durant, OK for a RV Rally. Not raining here now but it is 54 and cloudy, more rain coming. Can not believe it is 54!!
Lolly, Hip-Hip-Hooray for that weight loss ! It takes a combo of exercise and diet and it ain't easy ! The walking will help you maintain. Enjoyed hearing about the great opportunity that lies ahead for your Joseph, too. Isn't grandparenting the greatest ?!!!
Good news about Sharon and hubby arriving at the rally safely. Hope they don't encounter anymore "brick throwers" on their travels. Where do they live, or are they full time RVers ?
Yes, grandparenting is the best! I am just so happy for Joseph right now and that things are going good for him. He is 10 and in the 4th grade. He is a super kid and super sweet. Yesterday, totally on his own, he cooked breakfast for his mother and took it to her in bed. He cooked an omelet and two fried eggs. LOL She looked at the tray and said "Can I have a slice of toast?" and off he went to fix the toast. Yes, he is a little cook. He prepares his daddy's coffee every monring, grinding the coffee beans, too.
They live in Rosenberg which is down near Houston. No, they are not full timers but they go for lots of long trips. They plan to be gone 6 weeks this trip. He is a retired school superintendent and she, like me, a retired kindergarten teacher.
Question for the gardeners: Looked at plants called butterfly flowers which will attract butterflies. Garden center person thought butterfly flowers are the same as milkweed. I don't agree. Always thought milkweed grows wild. Can milkweed seeds or plants be purchased?
Going to relax and read some crime stuff. Hate to do anything physical to burn off the lunch calories.
An omelet and two fried eggs. LOL Very impressive for a 10 year old ! I have a granddaugter, Dana Kay, now 20, who was a cook at that young age. She could eat with us at a restaurant, figure out the ingredients in a dish and put it together for us later at home. She thought about becoming a Chef after high school, but has opted for a Major in Linguistics and a Minor in Spanish at the U of MI. She's already home on summer break and doing most of the cooking to her mother's great delight !
Can not answer your question, Judie. Never heard of "Butterfly flowers." Have heard of Butterfly bush. Maybe Megan can help.
Oh, it would be great to have a daughter to come home and cook. Laurel is a great cook but she never cooked while here at home. Both of her boys like to help in the kitchen. Jacob really wants to get in there and help. He is 6 so pretty soon he can learn to cook, but only stir for now. She lets him chop potato skin with a table knife. When he was here last I let him do that and then I cooked the chopped potato skins, lightly salted them and let him eat them. He was thrilled!
Jim, so glad to hear Phoebe's little one was rescued, returned to the nest and seems to be doing okay. Seems like so many birds do not survive such a traumatic event. The Bald Eagles at Sooner Lake OK lost both of their eaglets to falls last season. Very sad.
Cute, Lolly ! I love it when boys show an interest in culinary arts ! My son does 90% of the cooking in his household and much of it gourmet quality. My SIL here in Columbus is the best cook in the house and always cooks on weekends. Both say it's recreation for them as a complete departure from the work they do.
Butterfly Flower (Asclepias Tuberosa) is a perennial flower that attracts butterflies. It is also commonly called the butterfly weed, milkweed, and butterfly milkweed. Unlike other milkweeds, the sap is not milky. It is native to U.S., east of the Rocky Mountains. Although, today, it's grown in every state.
Bright orange flowers bloom in mid-summer. The blooms sit atop plants that grow 24" - 36" Tall. After blooming, seeds form in light green pods.
Butterfly flowers looks great in flower beds, rock gardens, or as container plants. They are good as cut flowers. Make sure to plant them where you can see butterflies floating to them in light breeze. Monarch butterflies, and other butterflies feed on foliage. Many butterflies will be attracted to the nectar of open blooms.
Important Note: Most parts of the Butterfly flower are toxic. Keep them away from children or pets.
Judie, I gave you both Milkweed and Butterfly Weed seeds at Open House, didn't I?? Hard to find seedlings right now, too early. Monarchs and other butterflies will come in droves to them!
Lolly, great pictures ! Our homes and gardens up here are weeks away from that beautiful stage. You are lookin' good--I can tell the difference and I've only seen you in Open House picks of last year !
Lynne2, Cathedral Park is breathtakingly beautiful ! Any one taking a look be sure to enlarge so you can read all about the hemlocks in the park, etc..
It was breathtaking Kay! We were just a little limited in how much hiking around we could because my Father in Law doesn't get around too well nowadays, but we sure saw enough to be amazed!
Reece is now on as moderator, too. Check out the news about Azelea and Camillia spending the night within 100 yards of each other. Love following those birds with transmitters !
Hi, Everyone, Dragging my tired caboose in here to say howdy, before you all think I fell off the face of the earth! Was up all night Thursday night to watch the Royal Wedding, and have been trying to catch up on sleep ever since. The BBC America coverage started at midnight, and went clear into Friday evening! Loved every minute of it. Wish both of them every possible happiness.
Wow, yesterday we saw a female Hooded Oriole on our hummingbird feeder! YAY! They're back!
LYNN, CONGRATULATIONS! I am so glad that Liesl is settling in so well! Just proves that you are providing her with the perfect home! Can't wait to see pictures!
Lynne2, I'm glad that Daisy came home. Had to LOL about the hole in the back yard! Know you were kidding. Hope your knees and Steve's elbow improve rapidly. Prayers!
Well, I'm still sleepy, so may go take a panda nap while I have the chance. BBL tonight. :o]
Thank you all for the help and advice. I had googled milkweed and butterfly flower (I know these are not the same as butterfly bush) and was just really confused.
Lynne2, yes, seeds were mentioned but I can't remember actually receiving any. I'll tackle Darth as a potential seed thief.
Will begin to sort through options and look at potential garden locations. Again, thank you all.
Lynne2, happy Daisy has returned and am sure once she sees the hole in the yard she will not be inclined to take off again. Hope you and Steve will be all better soon.
Curious to know how Lynn and Liesl have managed this afternoon. So anxious for her to have a good experience.
Hey Andy, how's school? Is this quarter almost over?
I just realized I keep putting an "e" on Ed's Clark---a slip because I have friends with that name. He responded to a question about how the donations are coming in with "no one needs to worry about these eaglets going hungry for lack of funds. I'll go fishing myself if it comes to that." I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist. What a guy !
Lolly - Great pics!! Thanks for sharing. Looks like Easter family get together was fun for all. Michael and Laurel's home looks beautiful, from what I can see!!
Your flowers are beautiful, too. So sorry you'll have so much clean up work to do once the storms are done having their way :(
Linda, it is Michael and Ashley's home. Michael is our son, Laurel, our daughter. Thank you! They do have a gorgous house. They will be there two years in August. Still have their decorator working on the house. Yes, they have a decorator. They live a different life than I have ever lived. LOL I do my own decorating! My house looks lived in, theirs is beautiful. LOL
Yeah, Lolly, I'm with you. I'm just loving that Itchy Withers Farm. AND....the lady Colleen wants to expand and be a shelter for neglected or unwanted pregnant mares, as I read in that article. How wonderful is that??
She really wants to do something special. Amazing.
Lolly - Sorry about mixing up who is who!! Michael and Ashley's home is beautiful.
Wow! A decorator?? They must make good money!! Either way, it is beautiful, and if it's comfortable to live in and visit in, that is what is most important!
all three nest in Calf have one adult eagle and the babies standing up all at same time Not for sure if you have the link for all three cams at once I'm sure you all do but just in case a mewbie doesn't here is it Three cams one page back to the news was a commercial
Lynn2, I snooped around in Darth's mess and found the packets of seeds. May be too late for this year but I will tuck them away where I can find them. May just invest in the butterfly bush.
here is an interesting nest in Kentucky...should be an Osprey nest, but it was first occupied by Great Horned Owls this year whose eggs failed Title of the link from Puleston is This is what happens when you stay away too long ! Kentucky Osprey Cam, more or less !
don't think the Ospreys are setting up housekeeping here this year...
Hello Eagle Pals, cool and drizzly here in Martinsburg xoxo
Catching up.....please don't run so fast!!! I'm getting there...
But gotta say: CANDY---WHOOHOO!!!!! So tickled about Josh and Sherry. I had just remarked on FB yesterday that he looked SO happy and that she looked like a really great gal!!! Hurray!! Did you have ANY inkling they were going to "run away?" Congrats to all. I KNOW that you and Jim feel so much better this time!!!
around here we have milkweed and butterfly weed, milkweed usually comes in first.... love them both! There are swamp milkweeds not too far from where I live....beautiful coral pink color
Liesl was the belle of the ball at the meeting! Then we went to PetSmart and drugstore and stopped for her to meet my Bill. She is one pooped pup. Drank but not interested in dinner yet....sacked out now.
Rain has been pretty constant and even tho' it's 55°, it is chilly and raw. Heat back on...:(
We are still eating leftover food from the Irish Pub visit last night. I had some for lunch, but still have more of mine. Kathryn and Hunter are eating her leftovers for supper. I usually get at least two meals from a restaurant visit.
Aha, Judie ! I've been told Newbies have that status for approximately one year. So, in their second year they're Mewbies, right ? Does that mean that in the third year we're Bewbies and in our senior year we become good little Dewbies ? So, upon graduation we get our B. (Bird) S. (Science) degree and are officially known as Oldies from that point on ? I think that's what I read in Wikapedia or was it Wackopedia ?
thanks for the Lily update, Judie and yay, Liesl is making the rounds, Lynn...
Shirley, sorry you could not get the mower going, did you not use STAYBIL? thought we would never stop seeing that ad on the Outdoor Channel.... poor Ed
Saw on the way out this afternoon that someone picked up the dirt-bike helmet! Glad I didn't have to throw it away---I'm sure they're expensive. Hope the kid learned a lesson!
Had to buy a cat collar for Liesl. None of the dog collars were s mall enough! Got her some nice little dog toys, too. She's spoiled already!
Lynn and DanaWV to answer your question I was at the flea market near the Sheetz at Exit 20 Rain struck at 10:30 and again at 1:00 so it was pretty much of a dud of a day BUT I came home with eight South Carolina tomatoes, some strawberries and a bunch of Spring Onions and a lot of "merchandise" that needed to be dried off :(
Speaking of tomato here in Fl Tampa area you can go pick a 5gal bucket for only $1.00 No pickers so they are just telling peeps to come on and pick yourself Cool huh
BBL again this time I mean it I love the DVR I can just rewind
Okay, Margy, I see the answer to my question already---you found some scrumptious tomatoes and you brought a lot of your items home. Funny how sales at Flea Markets go. The next time you could take the same stuff and sell it out in no time !
My girls can both cook well, but I don't think either one really enjoys it. SIL Charlie does well. But SIL Shannon is the real chef, at home and at work. Heard some of his fellow-firefighters at the party talking about how much they love his meals. He does all the cooking for their shift!
Poor Phoebe....hope the wee one will be okay. SO glad the man noticed before a predator came along. Thanks, Jim!
Shirley, it was a post by Mema Jo that conveyed Carol's ecstatic message about her son's elopement this morning. I don't know these folks, but it was a joyous message and I couldn't help but smile and be happy over it. Check the posting at 1:25pm.
How come some people's blog needs a security word and some don't? And how come some have it on the same page as I post the comment on, and other it's a new page after I hit post comment? SO CONFUSING!
Judie, you'll love having a butterfly bush! I recommend butting the spent blooms to keep it from getting too stragly and encourage more blooms. They come in so many pretty colors! And smell wonderful! I now have 4...they propagate easily from cuttings!
I was thinking the same thing, Judy. Shhhh! Do NOT tell Liesl she is wearing a cat collar.
Linda, our son, Michael is an attorney and his wife is as well. Both are partners in big firms in Dallas. They are successful, very proud of our Michael! Proud of Laurel, too. She is a fantastic teacher!
Going to reheat last nights dinner for our meal tonight. Only, tonight we are adding wine. No wine last night since... because of a medical condition, Dan can not drink wine.
Lilly Grace is going to be a fantastic little horse. Right now she loves people. Have you seen her walk to them? I just love the loving that goes on there!!!
our Indigo Bunting was back again today...third day in a row!! Bet there is a nest close by....trying to get a picture but they are jumpy little things!
sorry Kay I should have said had to dry MY merchandise off...so I repacked it to go another day... first sale was a grandpa who wanted some books for his grandchildren.. also sold a bird feeder! since I can't risk putting out feeders here, attrached a squirrel one year who set up residence in floor space between my apartment and the upstairs unit did a LOT of damage and almost came through the floor at me while I was taking a tubby one night WOOF !!! finally critter guy lived-trapped her out of there, she had babies too
Yikes, Margy ! I know it was only a squirrel, but it would have scared the pee waddin' out of me to see it ready to dive in ! One of those things we can laugh at later, but are very scary at the time.
Lolly, in my whole life I've only seen this one, one in WV last year at my MILs, one on the road below the property here, and one at my feeder a couple of years ago. What I'm hoping for, and have only seen twice in person, are Rose Breasted and Evening Grossbeaks.
Just saw a big owl fly in... By the time I got the camera and focused in, he took off. Probably would not have turned out anyway---too dusky and fog is building. Think it was a barn owl---huge!!
I have to tell you all about a very disturbing incident that happened while I was at Walmart today. It upset me very badly.
I was trying to get down an isle, and a lady and her shopping cart were completely blocking it. So I said "excuse me, may I please get by you?" She glanced over her shoulder at me and then proceeded to push her cart sideways and then rammed it into my cart. I said "what the hell did you do that for?" She didn't move, but turned around and looked at me dead in the face and said "my God you are ugly" Can you imagine how shocked I was? She said "just look at yourself, you are so ugly, I've never seen anything so ugly I have to get away from you". I said "What is your problem, I just asked you nicely if I could get past you" and she proceeded to mumble to herself about how disgusting I was as she moved away.
Hi Shirley and everyone. Loved the pix Lolly and Lynne. There was someone else's but I can't remember who.... sorry.
I took a picture of the Harrisburg falcon and the little one but it was on my netbook. Will try to add it next time on the netbook.
Have to guard my netbook. Jim dropped his and can't get the internet connection. boo hoo. He's NOT using mine!! Just may have to share the desktop. :-(
Lynne & Lolly - We have an Indigo Bunting that we see only a handful of times in the summer here. Don't know why we don't see it more often, but when we do see it on the bird bath or on the feeder further away from the house, the color is so vibrant and beautiful. A nest would be awesome!
But really............why do people have so much anger and nastiness inside them? And why take it out on complete strangers who are actually polite to them?
JudyE----if they can't get migrants to pick the tomatoes, then why don't they put prison gangs out there to do it, or the healthy welfare recipients....rhetorical question, of course!
Lynn, don't you know ANYTHING about gardening? Butting is a very delicate procedure in which......I put my head up my butt for not proofreading what I type!!! LOL!!!
I have never been able to start a mower with a pull cord. It just does not happen, so I bought a key start mower. Looks like I got it at Lowes. Maybe I'll call them.
The high school students will work on mowers in one of their classes at school, but getting a mower there is a challenge for me. Would have to use Kathryn's vehicle and get someone to unload it, etc.
that's a good idea Lynn! No reason they shouldn't be pickers!
Thanks everyone. I really take things very personally sometimes. Even if I didn't think there was some mental issue, I'd have been just as upset, even though what some stranger thinks of me isn't important.
indigo buntings hang out at Swinging Bridge but so far I have only heard them, not seen them and it has been years since I have seen evening grosbeaks or rose-breasted grosbeaks
There is also a stunning Blue Grosbeak, but I have only seen someone else's picture of one from Southern WV glad you have gotten to see the indigos, Lynne They are also at NCTC eyeballs are giving me a hard time, need to take a break....
Best wishes for a good evening, Everyone...see you before bedtime
OMG, Lynne....you should have gone to security. That is totally insane for anyone to be so mean and hateful. Do not for one minute even think that her words had ANY meaning! We are all beautiful, and I know that Steve tells you that all the time! I bet Judie has a good diagnosis for that broad.....I'm thinking SOCIOPATH!
we were thinking the same thing, Lynne, God Bless You.. my sister had dementia, (Alzheimer's I guess, never truly found out for sure) and did and said some very strange things. Tried to choke me a couple of times, and became violent once or twice while riding in the car with me, turned on a dime, she did and then had totally no knowledge or remembrance of it
Hi all. I guess I finallly got in here. I don't know how many times I have tried, changed passwords, etc. There are a lot of new names on here since I last was on. Good to see so many new AND "old" names still on here. I have missed the blog so much.

Thank you, Steve.
Will get the others.
Congrats Loretta, as the "call over" person, you are getting a PSF, and as the first poster on the new thread as well, you get a Fisycure!
Daisy is secured. I'm going out to dig her hole now, later we'll take her out back and shoot her.
You know I'm kidding.
Lynn, so glad the puppy had a good night and day so far!
Shirley, that's weird what George did...wonder what set him off like that!
Jo, don't you wish they had a wider camera range outside! That little filly just bounces on her springy legs and runs like crazy!
Knees are sore and so is Steve's elbow but not too bad. He knows it's going to be for a couple of days.
Good afternoon everyone.
Good afternoon Thelma....are you SMILING?? :)
we put another bluebird house up in the back field yesterday and this morning the other male was sitting on it singing away! Sure hope there is an unattached female around for him to love!
I am so glad to hear the Liesl is eating nd drinking and seems to be settling in Hedgie...I hope you are doing well too.
Thanks for the morning report of Truder's two visits. I missed them.

I can truly relate BIG TIME. I am so glad that he will be returning soon. So you two can talk,

WOW all kinds of things happening around....I found a way to get The Osprey Cam at Milford Connecticut. My sweet Lola and Kidd....it worked it worked it worked. If anyone needs to know I can email them how to do it..almost 2 yrs in the making
They have something "blue" in the nest too lol plus a lot of white trash....lol osprey's
Thanks WV Dana for asking - I needed to know also........
SSCC is Sunrise Sycamore Cafe Club
Taking a break BBL
Well, Good Sunday Afternoon to all!
I always seem to miss everyone!!
Yipee!
Hope to catch up with you later....
Good Afternoon !
Difference between the Raven and the Crow......Cute, KayIM!!!
The WVEC cam is up right now. The triplets are sitting in a row gazing out at the big wide wonderful world they'll soon be a part of.
Good afternoon everyone.
**********************
Good day to you all
for a Sunday.

It's hot, dry and windy
today in So Cal, but it really fairly beautiful.
Phoebe's second hatched, fell out of the nest somehow, was replaced by the man with the cam, is still hanging in there. Might be alright.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Judie, here you go:
Perennial, Asclepias Tuberosa
Good job, Kay! Sounds like it would grow here, being heat tolerant and likes sandy soil. That's me!
Temp is dropping and it is very windy. This does not feel like May 1.
Judie, I gave you both Milkweed and Butterfly Weed seeds at Open House, didn't I?? Hard to find seedlings right now, too early. Monarchs and other butterflies will come in droves to them!
I have added a few pictures to Hawkwood blog. Remember to double click the pictures and you will get full screen.
Now I will go work on loading some Easter weekend pictures.
Lolly, great pictures ! Our homes and gardens up here are weeks away from that beautiful stage. You are lookin' good--I can tell the difference and I've only seen you in Open House picks of last year !
Love those Larkspur Lolly!
(try saying that 3 times really fast!)
I just put our Cathedral Park pictures on my blog....working on Easter now.
Ed Clarke is currently on the moderator hot seat with interesting insights and information on the NGB threesome.
wvgal dana did you google the nest you were looking for??
Lynne2, Cathedral Park is breathtakingly beautiful ! Any one taking a look be sure to enlarge so you can read all about the hemlocks in the park, etc..
It was breathtaking Kay! We were just a little limited in how much hiking around we could because my Father in Law doesn't get around too well nowadays, but we sure saw enough to be amazed!
I would love some milkweed seeds with info on how and where and when to plant them. I have a little butterfly bush but it doesn't seem to do so well.
Just about time to feed Dex and then perhaps head over to the shelter for a while.
Reece is now on as moderator, too. Check out the news about Azelea and Camillia spending the night within 100 yards of each other. Love following those birds with transmitters !
Looks like Lacey and Lilly are having races.........
Here is a link Attracting butterfly and hummers
Hi, Everyone,
Dragging my tired caboose in here to say howdy, before you all think I fell off the face of the earth!
LYNN,
CONGRATULATIONS! I am so glad that Liesl is settling in so well! Just proves that you are providing her with the perfect home! Can't wait to see pictures!
Lynne2,
I'm glad that Daisy came home. Had to LOL about the hole in the back yard!
Know you were kidding. Hope your knees and Steve's elbow improve rapidly. Prayers!
Well, I'm still sleepy, so may go take a panda nap while I have the chance. BBL tonight. :o]
Judie I just googled plants that will attract butterfly and there are lots of site to look at just google it
Leaving and will BBL
Here is a good link for you Glo....and anyone else!
Milkweed seeds, seedlings, etc.
Have now added Easter weekend pictures to Family pics blog. Hey, is this as boring as watching slides someone insists you watch?
Now, off to look at Lynne's pics. Guess she is through burying Daisy in the backyard.
Now down to 52!!!! Wish we had dry firewood on the patio, but Jack has hauled it all back out behind his workshop.
Everytime I look out I think the wind has blown a lot more leaves and branches down. More fun cleaning up. Ugh!
Lolly, a lovely family, having a loverly time ! Thanks for sharing !
Did a quick read through.
HI all! Just posted a photo of the baby Bluebirds. They are only a couple days old and in this pic they are sleeping!
NCSuzan, too sweet ! Looking forward to more pics as they grow !
So sorry you'll have so much clean up work to do once the storms are done having their way :(
They are delaying the shuttle take off again. Maybe till the end of the week...
Lynne, loved your pictures of the Park and especially the old house!
Going to have some supper and then look at Hawkwood.
Lynne2 - Loved your pictures taken at Cathedral Park!!
Oops....Double posted!!
Can't multi task too well!!
I'm scanning files ☺
Linda, it is Michael and Ashley's home. Michael is our son, Laurel, our daughter. Thank you! They do have a gorgous house. They will be there two years in August. Still have their decorator working on the house. Yes, they have a decorator. They live a different life than I have ever lived. LOL I do my own decorating! My house looks lived in, theirs is beautiful. LOL
Actually, I think I want to go live at Itchy Withers Farm. Love the horses, the dogs...it looks like my kind of place!
I cannot win with lawnmowers. We cannot start either one.
Kathryn, Hunter, and I together cannot start the mowers. Kathryn has tried to get Will to come mow. Now she is contacting Zachary.
Either way, it is beautiful, and if it's comfortable to live in and visit in, that is what is most important!
all three nest in Calf have one adult eagle and the babies standing up all at same time Not for sure if you have the link for all three cams at once I'm sure you all do but just in case a mewbie doesn't here is it
Three cams one page
back to the news was a commercial

LOL JudyE, I thought you'd heard about some cool cats that have joined us ?
Headi8ng. Home. See ya later!
See how new words get started with this group? Are mewbies actually newbies who have matured?
Safe drive Paula.
Eagle Cam Addicts is a face book page with the California nest Check it out they have some nice pictures and videos on it
Lynn2, I snooped around in Darth's mess and found the packets of seeds. May be too late for this year but I will tuck them away where I can find them. May just invest in the butterfly bush.
Thanks for the reminder.
here is an interesting nest in Kentucky...should be an Osprey nest, but it was first occupied by Great Horned Owls this year whose eggs failed
Title of the link from Puleston is This is what happens when you stay away too long !
Kentucky Osprey Cam, more or less !
don't think the Ospreys are setting up housekeeping here this year...
Hello Eagle Pals, cool and drizzly here in Martinsburg
xoxo
Catching up.....please don't run so fast!!! I'm getting there...
But gotta say: CANDY---WHOOHOO!!!!! So tickled about Josh and Sherry. I had just remarked on FB yesterday that he looked SO happy and that she looked like a really great gal!!! Hurray!! Did you have ANY inkling they were going to "run away?" Congrats to all. I KNOW that you and Jim feel so much better this time!!!
Dana.....yes, please send me your secret for getting the cams to play!! I have too many that won't that either did before or never have. TY!
around here we have milkweed and butterfly weed, milkweed usually comes in first....
love them both!
There are swamp milkweeds not too far from where I live....beautiful coral pink color
I think I am hearing a towhee at the NCTC nest
Liesl was the belle of the ball at the meeting! Then we went to PetSmart and drugstore and stopped for her to meet my Bill. She is one pooped pup. Drank but not interested in dinner yet....sacked out now.
Rain has been pretty constant and even tho' it's 55°, it is chilly and raw. Heat back on...:(
For anyone who hesitated to check the Lily update, rest easy. She has apparently recovered from whatever was affecting her.
Congratulations Candy. Please offer our best wishes for happiness to the bride and groom. I am sorry I let that slip by me earlier.
We are still eating leftover food from the Irish Pub visit last night. I had some for lunch, but still have more of mine. Kathryn and Hunter are eating her leftovers for supper. I usually get at least two meals from a restaurant visit.
Kay, love Seth's little pun!! Excellent.
Yes, that is really lovely news about Candy and Jim's Josh, and Shelly
I have two newphews and one niece that eloped...
Good reports on Liesl, Lynn....lovely, just great, very happy for you and I can't wait to meet her!
I have missed Candy's event, too.
I think that's what I read in Wikapedia or was it Wackopedia ?
thanks for the Lily update, Judie
and yay, Liesl is making the rounds, Lynn...
Shirley, sorry you could not get the mower going, did you not use STAYBIL? thought we would never stop seeing that ad on the Outdoor Channel.... poor Ed
Lynn, not surprised to hear Liesl was "the belle of the ball" ! So very happy for both of you !
KayM that could go on and on all the way through the alphabet TOo funny Loved it back to the news
Lynn and DanaWV to answer your question
I was at the flea market near the Sheetz at Exit 20
Rain struck at 10:30 and again at
1:00 so it was pretty much of a dud of a day
BUT I came home with eight South Carolina tomatoes, some strawberries and a bunch of Spring Onions
and a lot of "merchandise" that needed to be dried off :(
Lolly, Joseph is a real gourmand!!! Omelet and fried eggs----CUTE!!!! Did you tell him what to fix for next Sunday??? It's Mother's Day, you know!
going to go make some tomato sandwiches
see you fine friends a little later on
xoxo
Margy, did you sell out at the Flea Market ? Did you wind up buying more stuff you just couldn't live without ? That would have been my problem !
Don't let her know its a cat collar could give her some kind of phobia BBL
big bummer about the shuttle launch being so-postponed :(
sure do miss the Still Cam...
can't add any pics to the May album like this !
We had some kind of stuff like Staybil that came with the mower, but Will was in charge of the mowers, so I do not know when it was used.
So now have:
Lily the Bear
and
Lilly the filly!!
Speaking of tomato here in Fl Tampa area you can go pick a 5gal bucket for only $1.00
No pickers so they are just telling peeps to come on and pick yourself Cool huh
BBL again this time I mean it I love the DVR I can just rewind
Okay, Margy, I see the answer to my question already---you found some scrumptious tomatoes and you brought a lot of your items home. Funny how sales at Flea Markets go. The next time you could take the same stuff and sell it out in no time !
Cannot find Candy's post.
I assume her son got married. Congratulations.
Hey, I was watching Chef on a Shoestring the other day and the chef was cooking RAMPS.
Hey.......BTW-----HAPPY MAY DAY!!
Not good weather here for a Maypole dance, that's for sure!!!
There is also a butterfly bush, Judie. Can be pink, white, purple....very similar in appearance to a lilac.
Shirley, it was a post by Mema Jo that conveyed Carol's ecstatic message about her son's elopement this morning. I don't know these folks, but it was a joyous message and I couldn't help but smile and be happy over it. Check the posting at 1:25pm.
only bought the produce Kay
sure hope Megan did not get rained on at her market
Love your pics, Lolly.
Well, I am just as jealous as jealous can be! People at Lynn's meeting today got to see OUR Liesl. That is just not fair! I want to love on her!!!!!
sorry Kay
I should have said had to dry
MY merchandise off...so I repacked it to go another day...
first sale was a grandpa who wanted some books for his grandchildren..
also sold a bird feeder!
since I can't risk putting out feeders here, attrached a squirrel one year who set up residence in floor space between my apartment and the upstairs unit
did a LOT of damage and almost came through the floor at me while I was taking a tubby one night
WOOF !!!
finally critter guy lived-trapped her out of there, she had babies too
Thanks, Kay. I found it. Congratulations to Josh and Shelly!
Well!!!! I am also jealous that Lynne has an Indigo Bunting and I have never even seen one! Life is not fair, but guess we were never promised fair!
BTW....I am SO jealous of your gardens!
Eagle lands on nest
TBird alert
EAGLE ALERT!!
It's Truder and he's already Poofing
poof 11 o'clock but looks like he didn't go far....
Hi everyone. Trying to catch up. What's the speed limit on here?
☺☺☺
Hi, Diann!
Thanks, JudyE---did not know about that FB page! Cool!
Knew about the shuttle launch---sorry I didn't post that info this morning.
Just listened to Lara Logan's account of her assault.....just awful. What a gutsy gal she is.
Enjoyed your people pics, Lolly!
Oh my gosh, I would have gotten away from that woman, Lynne. I might have told security to keep an eye on her. She sounds scary for sure.
Oh Lynne..........so sorry you had to even be in the same store as somesone so rude!!
I'd be upset, too. I just don't know about people in this world anymore.
I bet she was NO BEAUTY either. You're beautiful to us.....always!!
That just breaks my heart! ♥♥♥
I would say beyond rude. Crazy.
Lynne, that woman wasn't just rude, she was clearly demented ! It would have shaken me up, too !
Lynne & Lolly - We have an Indigo Bunting that we see only a handful of times in the summer here. Don't know why we don't see it more often, but when we do see it on the bird bath or on the feeder further away from the house, the color is so vibrant and beautiful. A nest would be awesome!
I think we've only got one picture.
Yeah, crazy and demented sounds more like it.
But really............why do people have so much anger and nastiness inside them? And why take it out on complete strangers who are actually polite to them?
Okay, Lynne-ie....how does one butt blossoms and what do you butt them with??? LOL!!!
Mewbies and dewbies....another dictionary entry! Too funny.
Margy, sorry you got rained on...I think Megan did, too, judging by a FB post late this morning.
Sorry about the mowers, Shirley. I know the feeling! ARGH!
I was in tears! But I really think that she had some diminished mental capacity of some sort. Like she was there, but not. Still.....
JudyE----if they can't get migrants to pick the tomatoes, then why don't they put prison gangs out there to do it, or the healthy welfare recipients....rhetorical question, of course!
LOL---guess what the plastic part of the break-away thing on the cat collar says??? MEW! So hope Liesl can't read!!
I would certainly say mental illness, Lynne2, so very sorry you had to endure that
by the way, Lynne, you are very beautiful and we love to be near you ! ♥
Lynn, don't you know ANYTHING about gardening? Butting is a very delicate procedure in which......I put my head up my butt for not proofreading what I type!!! LOL!!!
CUTTING....DUH!
Will texted me that he would come mow tomorrow.
This woman wasn't thinking, Lynne. She was just acting.
indigo buntings hang out at Swinging Bridge but so far I have only heard them, not seen them
and it has been years since I have seen evening grosbeaks or rose-breasted grosbeaks
There is also a stunning Blue Grosbeak, but I have only seen someone else's picture of one
from Southern WV
glad you have gotten to see the indigos, Lynne
They are also at NCTC
eyeballs are giving me a hard time, need to take a break....
Best wishes for a good evening, Everyone...see you before bedtime
xoxo ♥
OMG, Lynne....you should have gone to security. That is totally insane for anyone to be so mean and hateful. Do not for one minute even think that her words had ANY meaning! We are all beautiful, and I know that Steve tells you that all the time! I bet Judie has a good diagnosis for that broad.....I'm thinking SOCIOPATH!
I said a prayer for her.
WOW, Leona had a Painted Bunting at her house today!
Oh Lolly, I am also jealous of your skinny self, and your Redshouldered Hawk nest! LOL!
someone that probably needs some prayers too
My cam had timed out, so missed the Truder visit. Oh, well!
Hello all my old friends out there on the eagle blog. I think I have it so I can get on here again. I hope so anyway.
Lynne2 something must be terribly wrong with that woman. You are beautiful, full of joy and you share that joy in how you act and talk.
Margy Next time you better let me know. When your setting up down my way. That is right in my area!! I'm not that far on Rt 109 from that flea market.
Hey Candy!!! Congrats on becoming a new Mother in Law!
Hi ( : New Mother-In Law hee hee
we were thinking the same thing, Lynne, God Bless You..
my sister had dementia, (Alzheimer's I guess, never truly found out for sure) and did and said some very strange things.
Tried to choke me a couple of times, and became violent once or twice while riding in the car with me, turned on a dime, she did
and then had totally no knowledge or remembrance of it
she died in 2007 at the age of 60
I'm laughing out loud at Lynne2 and my comments lol
Reading you loud and clear, Candy. Congratulations to your son and his bride!!
TBird is Back
HE'S BACK
You are right, Margy. Sounds like that woman should not be out alone.
EAGLE!!
Belle Ringing IN
2 eagles
