Hi DanaMo! I sure could use a beach trip myself, haven't been in years! That cool Atlantic water, with the salt and the waves, just makes my knees feel so good!!
Sorry I don't have a photo of my mother. She was a camers shy lady. But I do have a new Avatar and its the Alabama State bird (flicker) and flower (camellia).

Hi all! Just peeking in. Can barely look at the monitor as my eyes are dilated. Going to order new glasses, but waiting til next week when I can see better. LOL
See that Shirley has not reported in yet. Anxious to hear from her.
Jack and I are heading to the grocery store. Will put the sunglasses on. Hmmmm? Maybe I should be wearing sunglasses to look at the monitor.
Lynne, so you are behaving yourself today? I am down 23 pounds now. Help...I am melting away! LOL
Paula, have a great weekend. Teach Nugz how to dip his tail into the paint with no dripping! I wish you eagles galore!!
well, despite my protesting and not getting any better back, I have managed to vacuum and dust, do 3 loads of laundry, brush Daisy and Joker (my 2 hairiest beasts), take out the trash, scrub the bathroom, and BLOG! HA! I'll show my back who's the boss!
Shirley, so happy you are home. A nap is definitely called for. We love ya, lady!
Red, absolutely love the new avatar. Bet your mom was just as lovely as a picture.
Paula, safe trip and enjoy the beach. You deserve it.
Kinsey, I like that.
Had a student this semester who found out I grew up in Norfolk. Asked me if I remembered a place called Doumar's. Well, yes I do. Well it's still there and the car hops still skate out to the cars. Is it really still there? Yes, my grandparents used to go there after a movie. Well, doesn't that just make me feel young!
Okay, at least they make an attempt with the air horn. Still scary.
Sharon, enjoy the lakes and the hugs.
Lynne2, thanks for hauling me over to the new thread -- you may have just added to your back pain by doing that. You sure got a lot done, I'll give you credit.
Off to the kitchen. Pasghetti and meatballs tonight. Need to make the meatballs and sauce.
Back...and settled in! Carolyn LOVED Liesl---of course!!!! And Liesl piddled on the carpet for her just as someone mentioned they do! (Cinnamon did NOT do that!!!) We took her with us while we ran errands.....I went in two places and Caro went in two!
I use Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, too---ever since Shannon introduced me to it!
Red, sorry no pics of your Mom---that's sad....:( But like your state bird and flower!
Shirley, so relieved that the procedure wasn't as bad as before!! And great that you felt like getting a yummy meal afterward!! No immediate frozen section exam w/ preliminary result?? Boo!
So I come and everyone disappears, huh? Well, harumph! Working on trying to get labels off two big barrell-shaped snack jugs.....will want to use them at AAWV Open House for door prize and raffle ticket jars. Had them soaking all day....still not going well. Will end up using lots of lighter fluid!
From Kids at school for the NBG eaglets Check this out sooo cute. Prayers for you Shirley Hope you have a good rest BBL just got home soooo much to do now Yikes!
Kind of awake now. Making good use of an ice pack and loafing around.
They said that back in 1995, they did not use pain medication for the procedure, but they do now. Back then, they inserted a needle with a hook while my breast was compressed and then twisted the needle while the hook was extended. It hurt.
Today, they used numbing medication and provided more when I said I felt pain. It was better.
The procedure I had before was preliminary to a surgical biopsy. This time they removed the calcifications during the procedure.
But it was really nice to know so many people were praying for me. I was praying for myself, too.
Shirley, hope you can just rest up tonight. I never knew they did that w/out numbing meds! Needle one I had was with it, but still some uncomfortable prodding. The compression was the worst part!I had had a surgical bio. before that & it was micros in the scar tissue from that they were checking again! Can't win!
And that's enough med stuff tonight! Will cheer you up w/more pics. They should be on in a few minutes!! ☺
Jack and I just came in from our evening walk around the yard, or should I say "the gardens". LOL He had his frosted beer mug and I had my glass of wine. This is the time of day that we really enjoy.
Now, we are getting ready to grill hamburgers. This will be my first hamburger since January...my "most favoritess food". ☺
I was out on the deck listening to the evening birds settling in and one of the hummer came right up to me and hovered over my head so close that I could feel the air off her wings---she stayed for about 10 seconds....I was afraid to move!
That is so neat to think that they are right there Ok now I need a shower been playing putting pictures of this week on facebook and also Posted tonight video four mini ones I tagged everyone also BBL
Dana, take it easy tonight. Sorry you had a rough day. Sleep well tonight.
Lynn, so way cool to have a hummer so close. Must have been awesome.
Shirley, we had high wind and about three minutes of light rain about the same time. All quiet now. Try to get some sleep -- maybe George will join you in the recliner.
I hear the distant tapping of footsteps. Footsteps that belong to the sandperson on the way to claim me for the night hours. The night light is set for 11:00pm. Restful sleep for all.
I am drooling.....Mom and Sis went out to dinner this eveing to a FONDUE shoppe. Never knew there were such things...but it has been about 20 yrs. since I've had fondue....yummmmmm. I don't even have my fondue pots....never got to retrieve them from "him"...amomg many other things. :(
Lynne2 I was touched by your picture of your parents, and your post on the old thread... very heartwarming, and yes, we have lots of gratitude to BOTH of your parents ♥

Just woke up! Eating that hamburger did me in. LOL No chance of disappearing, Margy. I am certainly not thin. When I lost weight 2 years ago, I went down one size in clothes. In somethings maybe 2 sizes. Now I am down a good two sizes. Hope to keep it there.
Hi Margy and Glo....and whoever else is still around.
I've been reading for two hours trying to catch up. Whew!!
Lynne - Good for you posting your parents this weekend even though you're estranged from your Mom. I understand that completely as I have been estranged from my Mom on and off for MANY years. Bless her heart - she just can't tell the truth to save her soul. Honesty is a BIG thing with me and something she seems to have a lot of trouble with. LONG STORY!! We had kind of a role reversal for many years, when it should not have been that way.
Now she is 75 years old and not doing so well health wise. I love her and respect her because she is my mother, but never had that relationship I always desired for a mother-daughter.
Enough of that!!
So awesome that you and Glo both saw the white-capped sparrow on the same day.
Lynne - You won't believe this one.....we had 3 Baltimore Orioles at the feeders and on the railing today several times. Totally amazing!! Boy are they just gorgeous. One of them actually had feathers that looked more red than orange under its chin.
Lolly - I was just joking with Lynne about the M&M's!!
She was the bad girl.....not me.
But I must confess that my husband brought home a store bought cake for me for Mother's Day that I will HAVE to eat!!! Guess Monday will be another day to try and start over!!
Linda...sounds like you will have to start over. Your hubby has to help you and bringing home a cake is never help. LOL
Just read where now is the time to start looking for the laying of the 2nd loon egg. Also, read where the muskrat we saw last night is not a threat to the egg. Whew! Glad of that!
No way, girl......I'm not getting you in trouble!!!
Vanilla cake with buttercream frosting is my favorite.......with some vanilla ice cream!!
When Dennis and I first met he used to brink me Birthday CAKE all the time. People have birthdays every day, so we though we should celebrate with whoever that might be!
Lynne2 - Yeah, me too, but I think my relationship with God is so strong because my Heavenly Father was ALWAYS ther for me. Fortunately, I was blessed with the ability to understand and forgive!!
Linda, wonder what I am doing wrong here that the Orioles don't stay! I see them briefly flying around, and last year there were 2 males fussing at each other for a couple of days, but they've never come to the feeders!
I would be happy if someone would BRINK me a cake, but not sure what that would be all about LOL a new word for our Lexicon ☺
Love the way your Dennis looks at it, someone is having a birthday somewheres... My father would say, put 30 people in a room, and at least two of them would have the same birth date Oh by the way that brighter color on your orioles....they might be in their breeding colors - I have seen that with Scarlet Tanagers
That is a wedding picture of my Mom and Dad. They had a small, at home wedding, Jan. 30, 1938. What is really special is that we saw our Michael for the first time and brought him home on Jan 30.
Linda, sorry that you have to deal with that kind of situation...but sounds like you have a great grip with good understanding and the strength to know that you have to protect your own mental/emotional health. Kudos. Where does your Mom live? Is she in FL? Pic is a nice one...she doesn't look 75 at all!
Good night to all turning in or yet to come on. Been a long day for me. To the tub I go. Liesl is asleep, and I know I will be soon!! Love and hugs to all, and prayers for all out many needs.
My mother and dad were married at her home...in 1944. She was Catholic, he was not...so the priest would not allow the wedding in a church :( He converted though, to Catholicism in the early 50's They renewed their wedding vows in 1983 - their 50th Anniversary - while at the nursing home ♥ ♥
I look a lot like my mother. From Daddy I got straight hair and in the inability to carry a tune. LOL Mother had naturally very wavy hair and she could sing beautifully...a saprano.
I think it was the economics and the time that Momma and Daddy married at home. I think my daddy was very handsome! Next Friday, May 13, would have been his 100th birthday. He died at 59 when I was 25. Michael was only 10 months old and he never knew that Laurel came along.
Oh, I sing too! I sing in church, but they do not ask me to join the choir. LOL Actually, we joke about those of us who should form our very own choir. Mother, on the other hand, sang at weddings.
I have wondered if the muskrat has made a nest somewhere on the loon platform. He went along the same path he did last night and disappeared in the same area.
Just heard one soft Loon call on the lake. I think it was telling me to go to bed.
So, I am heading to the shower and then to bed.
House cleaning tomorrow and a little cooking. Expecting Laurel and family Sunday. Possibly Michael, but I sort of doubt it. They are flying to Nashville for a party. Flying back home Sunday morning. Yep, really doubt they are coming here. BUT, they have not gotten back to me on whether or not they will be here.
Forgot to tell you...Joseph had his first practice on his new soccer team. Went very well! Anyway, towards the end of the practice the coach said they would go home after one more score in the scrimage. Guess who scored!!! It was a corner kick and Joseph headed the ball in. Laurel said he was so proud!!
We had a great evening at GG's. We pretended this was Mother's Day. There were flowers all around as our gifts, and a beautiful blouse with animal prints and sparkly butterflies from Karla. I love it! Jayden played outdoors quite a bit...he just loves running in the grass:) It's very late, I will go to bed very shortly.
Hi, Everyone, I bet I've missed "seeing" everybody. Getting here MUCH later than I had anticipated. Late this afternoon, Hubby tripped over a suitcase he had put across the bathroom doorway to keep Emma out of trouble in there. He fell HARD on his right knee, giving it a rug burn. I got some ice and had him sit on the floor for a few minutes to make sure he was OK. He seemed to be, so he got up carefully and walked around for a couple of minutes. All of a sudden, that right knee swelled up to about 4x normal size! I decided right then and there to take him to the ER for X-rays. Thank God, NO broken bones! An orthopedic P.A. was there, and she used a BIG needle to drain some blood out of the knee, making it much less painful. After a couple of hours of ice pack on, ice pack off, the swelling had gone down some, so they sent us home. They wrapped the knee in an ace bandage (but I think I could've done a better job of it!) and told Hubby to take Ibuprofen for the pain & inflammation. They gave him a shot of morphine mixed with something else to keep him from getting nauseated. He was pretty mellow by the time we got home! We are going to keep a close eye on that knee to be sure it doesn't get infected, and to be sure the swelling is improving. We need to follow up with our primary care doctor. We are both SO grateful to God that nothing was broken!!!! Bet he will be stiff and sore tomorrow, but he can walk on it if he's careful. He is planning on taking a couple of days off from work. We're not sure whether he will be able to drive using that foot! MTBR... Golly, like E.E.Sharon says, life can certainly turn on a dime!
Yikes! I just realized what time it is! It was FRIDAY afternoon when Hubby hurt his knee. Gosh, I'd better make sure the porch light is on, and set both security systems! Saying lots of prayers for everyone. Prayers of thanks that Shirley got through the procedure OK! Prayers for GG, too! Glad she enjoyed the family get-together! Prayers for Paula and Nugz, too. Think 20 percentile!
Going to hit the hay now. We'll see whether I'm awake for Belle and Truder's early morning visit. Will talk to everyone in the morning light, but probably a bit later. Sleep well! God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
Today's nest weather- Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Have a great Saturday everybody!

Hello sUSAn. Sending prayers for your MIL going through treatment.
Hope we hear from Shirley soon -- at least to know she's home and resting.
Kay, enjoy your Malcolm time.
If I don't make my own sauce, I use Sweet Baby Ray's, also.
Good girl, Liesl. Your mom is proud of you. As for piddle -- well, after all, you're still a baby.
Oh my, just what we need. A milk shake to go with the ribs followed by pretzel M&M desert.
Wanda's doing pork ribs, I think. I did beef short ribs last night. Baby backs will be Sunday.
Lori, we salture you for your plant planting.
Hi Jim. Enjoy your beautiful weather without the hot desert winds. I sure remember the drive in with the car hops. Lots of memories there.
Andy, everyone is, and will be, so excited for you. Just know you will get an offer. So close to home, too.
sUSAn looks like a movie star. Comes by it naturally.
Lynne2, sorry for the scare. Couldn't the quarry people post signs or notices?

Hi,
We are home. The procedure was not too bad. They did use numbing medications; they said that is a change since I had a similar procedure before.
I am feeling a bit tired, though and think I will take a nap now.
We did stop at Olive Garden on the way home.
I feel the love. Thank you so much. I will check back in later.

Yeah, I got a "conflicting edits" page and then a "503" with my long post.
Shirley, hope you can just rest up tonight. I never knew they did that w/out numbing meds! Needle one I had was with it, but still some uncomfortable prodding. There was still some discomfort. I think the worst part was the anticipation it might get worse.
The compression is never fun.
The compression is never fun.
Sorry, I stuttered. Got another 503.
we are having a heck of a storm here!
I thought we might be about to get a storm awhile ago. Wind came up, but nothing else happened.

Beautiful!
Lolly - I was just joking with Lynne about the M&M's!!
She was the bad girl.....not me.
But I must confess that my husband brought home a store bought cake for me for Mother's Day that I will HAVE to eat!!! Guess Monday will be another day to try and start over!!
Shirley - Kept you in my prayers last night, today and will continue to keep you in my prayers as you heal and as we all await the results.
I will try and find a picture of my Mom on my computer. Otherwise I will have to scan one.
I think I will look for a more recent one.
Paula - Hope you enjoy the beach and playing with Nugz this weekend!! Praying for 20%!!
CAKE? I want CAKE!
Made sense to me.
He'd bring a cake and I would ask, "What is this for?" He would say, "It's someone's birthday somewhers!"
Cute...........but we're paying for it now!
Lolly - I've done it before.....and I know I can do it again. I want to be thin again. This weight just looks so horrible on me!
I like the way he thinks Linda!
Cat and a Greeting Card
Good night one and all God Bless this nest and all whom watch it Prayers and healing thoughts to thoese who need them
Sorry about your relationship with your mom, Linda
MUSKRAT!!!!
Muskrat is back on the loon cam. Grossssss! Upset the loon. Hope the muskrat does not chew on the video cable, that is the big fear.
I saw it!
anyway, Linda, I have always been envious of the relationships that my friends have had with their mothers.
nite JudyE...cute video!
Lynne!!!! Once again...no, no, no! Your knees want you to lay off cake! I may just have to come up there and supervise you!
Oh, I loved the video. A Siamese!!! My favorite of all kitties! Oh, better not let Annie hear me. Shhhh!
Lolly, you are really getting to be a buzzkill.
LOVE YOU!!
I was VERY good again today!
I just love looking at my Momma and Daddy's picture, but at the same time it makes me kinda sad. Certainly do miss them. Oh, dear, tears!
Loven' me some Tom Selleck!! And ANOTHER To Be Continued show! You can tell the season is winding down.
New Jesse Stone movie May 22!!!!
My sister-in-law sent me this picture last week of my MOM from Easter Sunday.
Talked to Mom today and she is feeling pretty good this week. It varies from week to week.
Loon calls!
I forgive my mother. But I just can't be a part of her life. It was just too costly.
thought I saw some beady eyes swimming by but may have been the loon's mate.
Glo, good choice! That is one of the first pics of Dana's that I saw....love it! CONGRATS!!
Okay, friends.....my hubby is really tired tonight and won't head upstairs without me........so I'd better call it a night.
I'll have to catch up again tomorrow. I'm always catching up!!
Would love to get up early and join the SSCC crew one day. I love reading the posts!!
Blessings and Prayers for all, especially Paula and Shirley!!
Good Night ♥♥♥
Shirley, make sure you plan your reunion trip for long enough to go to CRC!!! Hope you sleep well tonight.
Loony Lolly the Buzzkill! LOL Okay, I will be quiet! It has to be your own decision. But, I will be watching!☺ Love you, too!
Mom and baby horse are sleeping! They've got a fresh bed of sawdust!
Lynne - I understand where you're coming from even though I don't know your history.
It is too dangerous for me to get too close to my Mom, unfortunately. I always trust......and I always get hurt.
Night!!
Nite, Linda!
Beautiful picture, your Mother, Linda
I would be happy if someone would BRINK me a cake, but not sure what that would be all about LOL
a new word for our Lexicon ☺
Love the way your Dennis looks at it, someone is having a birthday somewheres...
My father would say, put 30 people in a room, and at least two of them would have the same birth date
Oh by the way that brighter color on your orioles....they might be in their breeding colors -
I have seen that with Scarlet Tanagers
whoops think I might have just missed you, darn !
that's Lumbering Loony Lolly! Hey, I NEED to be scolded! But I WISH I had some cake!
Lolly, where/when was the picture of your parents taken? Looks like Easter or a Holiday?
Nope, Margy, I'm still here.....
Dennis went up to brush his teeth, so I stayed for a minute longer.
I meant to say "somewhere"......but those fingers just don't always land where they're supposed to!
I know I should be watching the loon can, will do that in a few minutes
ha ha, am doing my nails, Lolly ☺
I must report, that today I saw my first SLUG ! On my neighbor's patio, NOT MINE! Scare-slug is still on sentinel duty ! LOL
Okay! Then Good Night soon, Linda ♥
I knew what you meant, thought maybe he was being West Virginny in his terminology ☺
That is so weird to see my Mom's face on my posts......
Okay, I'm really heading upstairs now!!
See you tomorrow!! ♥♥♥
LOL, Margy!!
oh shoot, I saw one the other night and forgot to record it in my Nature Journal.
That is a wedding picture of my Mom and Dad. They had a small, at home wedding, Jan. 30, 1938. What is really special is that we saw our Michael for the first time and brought him home on Jan 30.
Linda, your mom is very attractive. It is unfortunate about your relationship with her.
Love and hugs to all, and prayers for all out many needs.
oh wow! they look so relaxed together! I see you in both parents!
Nite, Lynn! Sweet dreams!
Bless You Lolly and (( hugs ♥ ))
My mother and dad were married at her home...in 1944. She was Catholic, he was not...so the priest would not allow the wedding in a church :(
He converted though, to Catholicism in the early 50's
They renewed their wedding vows in 1983 - their 50th Anniversary - while at the nursing home ♥ ♥
shucks.
married in 1933 - that's what I get for typing with wet fingernails
I look a lot like my mother. From Daddy I got straight hair and in the inability to carry a tune. LOL Mother had naturally very wavy hair and she could sing beautifully...a saprano.
Mrs. Loony is bright and alert, and all kinds of night noises at the nest!
Sure hope to hear from Paula, and about how Nugz is doing. I think that double rainbow, was for the TWO of them
♥ ♥
Great memory Margy!
that's funny.....inability to carry a tune is another thing I got from my dad, while my mother had a beautiful voice! But me and daddy sang anyway!
Mother, on the other hand, sang at weddings.
maybe Jo will lumber on here soon and tell us how her evening has been ☺
and maybe Wanda too
and maybe some more friends
Andy:
Good news, and best wishes with the appointment next week !! And prayers too of course
Oh, Margy, I love the idea of the repeating their vows in the nursing home. That is very sweet!
I can whistle ♪ ♫ ♫ ♪
but I sure can't sing !
Yes, it was really special, Lolly.
We had a party afterwards ☺
I mentioned muskrat nest earlier, more like dens, often underwater. pretty amazing creatures
My kids at school never knew I could not sing. Thank goodness for records, tapes, and CD's!
this is pretty neat, the sharing of these memories
We shall all meet again....that's what I believe
I have wondered if the muskrat has made a nest somewhere on the loon platform. He went along the same path he did last night and disappeared in the same area.
Mom Loon is puffing out, wonder if she is thinking about...laying that second egg
I think I am missing a lot of good nights by waiting this late to come back from TV...
Happy there was another nest visit
and Very happy that JudyE has videos for me on FB.
Good night everyone and prayers for all our wants and needs.
Thankful prayers for Shirley's day.
Hugs to everyone ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
G'Night Jo...
Funny!
Finney One nest news in English, states that a Goshawk "wisited" the nest
I have to go but I have to
Prayers for our many needs....
God Bless This Nest,
and ALL of them, and
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ♥
well make that I HATE to go but I have to, oh brother...
I have to work Saturday, that's the only reason I have to go
Take Care, Precious Pals
Sleep Sweetly
Evening all!
Arrived safe and sound....can you believe I saw another double rainbow going thru Westminster?
Drove thru some rain on the way dow...some cool lightening too....clear and stars out here with a nice breeze
Hope everyone had a good evening
(((Hugs to all)))
yep another double rainbow, for you and Nugz, Paula
Good Night, glad you are there now
Dinosaur says Good Night to Everyone also
xoxox
Nite Margy! Sweet dreams!
Watching and listening to the loon cam makes me sleepy.
Glad you are there, Paula, safe and sound. Have a good weekend! Take a nice walk on the beach with Nugz.
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
We had a great evening at GG's. We pretended this was Mother's Day. There were flowers all around as our gifts, and a beautiful blouse with animal prints and sparkly butterflies from Karla. I love it!
Jayden played outdoors quite a bit...he just loves running in the grass:)
It's very late, I will go to bed very shortly.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Hi, Everyone,
I bet I've missed "seeing" everybody.
