oh my Steve is HIGH today! Thanks for the new thread Steve, and congrats Susan, you win the Poop Shoot Facial today!
bringing over... Lynn, the best test for HW is the antigen test, and in puppies under 6 mos. old because even if bitten by an infected mosquito at birth, it would take 6 1/2 mos for the test to show positive. So testing before that is useless.
and Lynn, a heartworm test should be done on her first yearly checkup next year, but as long is she is on the HWP consistently, a test need only be done in 2 year intervals.
Thanks WV Susan for the call over miss it though lol
Hedgie-Lynn I love hearing of you and Liesl...this is so much more happiness in a dog for you. I am thrilled it is like it is for you and Liesl. ( : ( : ♥♥

Thanks Steve for the new thread hope you have a good weekend. ( :
sUSAn, what a sweet way to open the new thread, with a welcoming wave from your lovely Mother !
Margy, when I read your question about opening Lee's present, I thought, "no time like the present". The book is, "The Pun Also Rises" by John Pollack, for winner of the World Pun Championship. I know puns are said to be the lowest form of humor, but they are one of my favorite forms ! The kids all know that any book on wordplay will be a hit with me. The cover says: "How the humble pun revolutionized language, changed history and made wordplay more than some antics." The cards he and Julie gave me are sooooo beautiful !
DanaMo, the denture doggy hilarious ! My, but your dog has a nice deep voice ! ☺
Judie, we hear ya loud and clear and are rejoicing along with you ! Hurray, it's over !!!! LOL about Malcolm and the crate !!!! I love your sense of humor and look forward to your posts !!!!
Sharon Has joined the Northern delegation today. She is otherwise occupied and too busy for a Choo choo ride is my guess. I am in LM bigtime and trying to get something done inside this house. Lots doen outside all week but well lets say I always tell myself Dex doesn't mind but its bad enough that even I am starting to mind.
Margy, back on the old thread you asked that I explain my avatar again. I'm suspecting you want Hoda to explain her uniquely meaningful avatar ??? Mine is of my Mother and Daddy, taken Easter of 1964. Little did we realize that only about 10 months later we would lose her to cancer at the young age of 45. She was a brilliant woman and accomplished more in those 45 years than many do in twice that. She also made Mother the most beautiful word in the English language for me !
Laurel just texted me from Jacob's t-ball game. The coach on the opposing team asked Jacob for his drivers licence. He was only joking, of course, but Laurel does carry his birth certificate. He is only 6 but the size of many 4th graders. That's my Jacob!
Yes, KaY - - I was interested in your avatar, because I might have missed the post about it.... you know, who, when, and all that. Love the picture...so sad, your loss of your mother at such a young age .
I did read Hoda's decription of hers the other night, very beautiful and soulful...
how neat, Wanda about Denise and her home-business venture...Photography Studio... Ha Ha - let's us Momsters get some of thse "glamour" shots done....☺
Lynn, I reread Larry's Loon blog for last year and thanks for correcting me - as we did lose both eggs last year. The year before we lost the one chick. It was like he was there and then he was gone. I hope this year goes well for the Loons
Anyone been over to the OC lately? Some are speculating that there are 2 different eagles with spots. One with 1 big spot and the other with 3 smaller dots like a triangle. I don't know why I even look at those comments. OMG!
LOL no actually house is BAD Sunroom is now half good. Thats where I will sit to enjoy the yard when its too hot outside. Living room has one good chair. I am sitting in it. Dex is on the sofa which needs vacuumed but its at least empty and room for seating. Loveseat . nope can't sit there. Other easy chair, nope can't sit there. Bathroom rugs are washed and in the dryer but bathroom well its next on the list. I am watching a photography video and computing. LOL. But will get up soon enough. Ok going to concentrate on video now and go get my pup and hold him in my lap for a while.
Mema Jo, what a wonderful avatar ! I know you miss them, but how fortunate you were to have them for such a long time. Not many of us have pictures of our grandmothers taken in the golden years !
Hi, Everyone, Habby to report that Hubby's knee is not as swollen this morning. When he woke up, the ace bandage had slid down quite a bit because it was so much looser. LYNN, the ER did not give him any cortisone shots, or any antibiotics. Calling the "800" number to try to get a Monday Dr. appt. for him with our doctor. Hope she can fit him in! Wanted to mention that he has been getting BAD Charlie horses in that leg since this happened. I think it might be from the Lisinopril/hydrochlorothiaz tab 10-12.5 he's on. Bet his body has dumped too much potassium! He gets foot cramps at night too, and not just in his right foot. Will mention it to the doctor. I'm soooo glad that Liesl is such a good puppy! :o] Do you know whether they've found a home for Mai yet? Hope so! Well, need a quick panda nap (didn't sleep at ALL well last night), and then have MUCH to do as far as grossery shopping goes. No rest for the weary! Will check in later. Have a GREAT Saturday!
Well, kitchen is clean, laundry done, house vacuumed, floors mopped, dusted, and both bathrooms cleaned! Now to eat a bite of lunch.
Had some drama. Jack was sitting on the patio, I was inside when THUMP, a Downy woodpecker flew into the glass. We left him alone. He eventually sat up (good!) saw him moving his head around (gooder!) he sat there on the patio for a l-o-n-g time, just took a peek and he is gone! (goodest!) Hip Hip Hooray!!! Oh, and we kept Annie in the whole time, of course!
Jack said there were two at the suet and they flew...one into the window glass. Oh, so glad it is okay!
DanaMo, about once a week I get curious, look at some OC posts, get furious and vow never again ! Truder's spots show up in various ways depending on time of day and lighting. We can always tell by behavior, that it is the same bird over and over ! I don't think many of those folks have observed Lib for 2 or more years the way most of us have.
Andy, so good to hear hubby's knee is not swollen, a good sign that ER did right by him ! Charley Horse's, ouch ! I suffer from RLS, but get great relief from Hyland's little tablets for leg cramps and by drinking a glass of Diet Tonic a day---it's the quinine in both that gives the relief. The docs once had me on drugs---Parkinson's remedies---the side effects wortyed me more than the ailment. Learned about these homopathic solutions through Stan's COPD support on line group in 2006 and have had very little trouble with the ailment since. All that to say, your hubby might give em' a try.
I have read through part of yesterday's comments and all of today's.
Hunter had his first baseball game today. He was the catcher. They won 20-something to 3.
I came home and took a long nap. Kathryn and Hunter have gone off to join some friends for fishing and other activities, so it is just the critters and grandma around here now.
I'm expecting my children here tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
I'm back....catching up....realized I had missed something about Wanda's Denise....had to go back to old thread to find it. WOW---budding photographers and ambitions to start businesses---Denise, Leona, and my daughter's friend April! SUPER!!!!!
SIL and his bro got here right after I got back from vet.....they took down about 20 small and medium sized trees that were dead. Can't tell in the winter, and can't see many of the dead ones once the leaves are out unless you walk around amongst them.....so they sure found them!
I'm home and mad at my computer Some how I lost my favorite toolbar :o( Its there but only on the side as a drop down what a pain all of sudden its gone I dumped puter and not comming back it was so easy just to click on the tool bar I have all my nest and stuff there now I have to do the drop down thing what a pain Gonna keep playing with it I will not give up
Hello all: Lynn 2 Jo WV Dana,WV SuSAn Kay IM, Lolly,Glo, Lynn, Margie, Thelma,Judy E. Dana MO, and all oothers. It sounds as if you all had a nice day so far. I was excited to read that there is a second Loon egg. Saw the first one layed the other night.
I know what you mean Judy E. When my husband got a new computer here at home, I lot all my sites that I watched with everyone. I am still trying to figure how to bookmark so I can find them easily again. So far no luck.
Andy, glad that Ken is feeling better. The HCTZ could be causing the cramps, for sure. Or cholesterol meds if he is on that. Definitely talk to the dr. about it. In the meantime, try bananas and/or some tonic water.
Lolly, poor little bird---thank goodness it survived!
Kay, I tried the Hyland's, but they didn't work very well for me. Dr. had me on the quinine pills until the FDA stepped in and said they could no longer be prescribed for leg cramps---an off-label use. Only for malaria.....but my new old Dr. (the PCP I had pre-cancer, who I was bale to return to after the 5 yr. mark) told me a couple of weeks ago that he'll write a script for it if I can find it at on online Canadian pharmacy!! I would much rather stick with it than with the muscle relaxers!
Well, Mama loon seems content to just sit on her two eggs, and everyonce in awhile the Decorah eagles stir a bit and still our nest is MT. Those Decorah eagles are quite old.
Liesl did well ast the vet, despite two shots---the second one made her flinch badly and the needle pulled out, so she had to get stuck three times.:( She did throw up a bit on the way home. She's been asleep most of the time since we got home, except when the guys were lovin' on her!!
HEDGIE -My tool bar is checked for the favorites but its not there where its suppose to be is blank and there are arrows and if i click on the two arrows pointing right they are all on a drop down instead across the tool bar I think it is a program that came with my puter If I click on the favorites on the left the Favorite Tool Bar is there and I don't know how to get to back across the top on my internet so frustrated My neighbor kid does computer virus work I'll probably ask him I lived without it for a while and only discovered it about a year ago I had to stars in the bar on was for the reg favorites like most computer and the other star was to add to the tool bar itself
I have dug out my mother's photo album from her college days. I will try to post a few pictures, but have to wait for my camera battery to charge. I need to get a program so I can scan to the computer, but do not think I can do it with my present scanner.
Yes, Hunter's team ran away with that game. The coach held back a bit so the game would not be stopped under the slaughter rule. Then the other team scored some runs.
Hunter was having a hard time with the catcher's gear the county has, so we went shopping. Man, that stuff is expensive! Kathryn and I split the cost. Of course, Kathryn can sell it when he outgrows it in a year or so.
Kathryn had already bought him a used catcher's glove--used gloves are much less expensive and already broken in. He has a very nice one.
Jeopardy--I noticed the teacher from Ocracoke Also a high school teacher from Liberty High School in Bealton, VA. That's just down the road a bit from here.
I am a wee bit miffed.....doing crossword from newspaper. Clue is HUT......answer is CABIN. I think those of you who have seen my cabin would agree that it is far from being a HUT!
Belle brought us all a Mother's Day Bouquet...how awesome is that!!!
I had a perfect day. We had a Garden Fest in Nelson BC today and it was a good day to be selling plants a soft drizzle and not too cold at all. The plants did very well. There were street jogglers and string music and a wonderful crowd of beautiful generous people who love plants. I volunteered to work with the Grans to Grans group and all of the plants we sold were donated and we made over two thousand dollars. All the money will be used to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa through the Stephen Lewis Foundation. I worked from 10:00 AM till 1:15 PM and went for a light lunch and then an hour and a half of Yoga and I feel very blessed and I know much gratitude.
It is now time to catch up with the blog and I do love the avatars of all the Moms...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY everyone...
got your request and accepted you can go and tag your self on videos if you want just go to my pictures photo and in top corner right says videos click on at they are there our you can go down my profile warning lots of jordyn on it and other stuff
Thanks, Shirley.....kids keep wanting me to go on...but I have bad "stage fright" and would probably freeze up!! I DID try taking the online test once, but the color scheme was very disconcerting and I started getting one of my optical migraines....so gave up on that idea!!
Had some visitors here from the Irvine Bird a Thon this afternoon hoping to add the Blue Grosbeaks to their list. Of course they were a NO SHOW!!! But they did get 4 others that they hadn't seen yet today, Flicker, Black Vulture, Hummingbird and....oh shoot, can't remember the 4th! It was 2 from Irvine actually, and then Sharon, my coworker at the vet who also volunteers there!
Good Evening All. Is Steve visiting Red? Busy, tiring day at Park. MANY Girl Scouts camping, but came in to our area to take canoe/kayak rides, visit Rural Life Museums, etc.I was not really in the middle of their activities, but got lots of calls from staff at boat ramp for help! LOL One coworker said some girls were drifting downriver with the tide & a Mom on shore was getting hysterical, which doesn't help. They just had to be towed back, that's all! We are watching NASCAR tonight, so I may konk out in the chair!Wanted to check in before that happens. Had a beautiful flower bouquet when I got home from daughter. Little 2-tone pink roses surrounded by lilies. L's are not open yet, but one looks pink on outside. Sorry I don't have a Mom pic up, but only one's close by are at daughter's wedding in '87. Haven't tried new scanner, yet, but hopefully will give it a whorl. My Mom had 3 other sisters and my irreverant Dad used to say he got the "pick of the litter"!
Mine was enjoyable in that my house is clean, and food prepared for cooking tomorrow. We went to Academy (sporting goods) and bought a yard game, Ladder Toss. Going to challenge the boys tomorrow, but also will have it to take to Colorado and the beach.
Thanks, Hoda....it sure makes the nest look homey!
Good play-by-play on the recent encounter---thanks all.
Loretta....did YOU have to tow the scouts back?? You realize that everyone here envies you your job, right??!!
Moving right along....all genealogy stuff received printer. Labels for my open house thing completed. Now to print out a few handouts (the majority we had done at a printer).
Jo, hoping your prayers work for Liesl.....I think her little hips are uncomfortable from her shots. She's sleeping but when she turns over, I hear a little whimper.

Glo...I just BET the house is a mess! Right! Just like mine...nothing that anyone else would notice...just my OCD!!
Thanks, Dana. Enjoying Liesl to the max!!
Red, do you have an eagle cane??
Gotcha, Lynne.....so just have to hope that if a pup were to be infected that the med wouldn't be harmful, I guess.
Jo, last years the loon eggs were a bust. Year before that we saw the two hatchlings.
Lynn, the HWP would kill the larvae, very safe!

did you all see the picture on face book of BOB in the eagles nest So funny Decorah nest
JudyE - I went over to the nest at Decorah and had to wait & wait before I actually saw all 3 eaglets
Bob's pic shows how large that nest is but sometimes I have been thinking that they were about to fall out of it!
We have had NU (tree climber) in our nest standing while they adjust our cam of trim some limbs

Have tenderloins stuffed and tied, as well as rubbed. Ready to be cooked tomorrow. Now going to get ingredients ready for Risotto.
Mad at my son. Still have not heard from them. Oh, Zach called. I said what are you doing? His reply "Watching Mommy take a shower. " LOL
Michael must not be there and she gave him her phone to play with in the bathroom while she showered.

Hi Candyt! Happy Mother's Day, in case I do not talk with you tomorrow!☺
BLogger cop just got me...argh!
That's a pretty rare bird, Kay!
And I'm so happy that your ECD's are back, Andy!
Well, the southern delegation is really trying to confuse us! Hi, Bluefielders! Hope your spiritual weekend if fun and uplifting!
Thanks Lolly and the same to you. Nothing doing here today or tomorrow; church, breakfast out and then home to relax, I guess.
Kay, I tried the Hyland's, but they didn't work very well for me. No eagles seem to ever be on our nest anymore. Each time I turn it on, it is mt. Has anyone seen them?
Hey Lynn, how is that new baby of yours doing? Do you get any sleep at night? :) Is Liesel a cuddler? Lucky you. I
d love another dog.
Hi there, Candy!!! Did you get my email about Jeopardy contestant???
Judy, have you tried right-clicking on the toolbar and see if there's an option as to where to put it??
Well, Mama loon seems content to just sit on her two eggs, and everyonce in awhile the Decorah eagles stir a bit and still our nest is MT. Those Decorah eagles are quite old.
Or go to TOOLS, and then TOOLBARS and make sure it didn't get unchecked somehow!
I didn't see it Lynn. What was it about?
I get so much stuff on there from Facebook, that I am about ready to scream.
Liesl did well ast the vet, despite two shots---the second one made her flinch badly and the needle pulled out, so she had to get stuck three times.:( She did throw up a bit on the way home. She's been asleep most of the time since we got home, except when the guys were lovin' on her!!
Who was on Jeopardy; you?
Oh the poor little thing. You have to feel sorry for Liesel as she doesn't have any idea of what is going on. And three shots too.
Oh well, my husband just came back from Elizabeth City and the VFW meeting, so gotta go for now. Dinner is due. Later gator.
Lolly, that is pretty funny about the coach asking for his driver's license!
And Shirley.....boy, Hunter's team ran away with that game!
Lolly, betcha' Michael has some kind of surprise under his hat for you!!!!
Yes, I did know it was National Train Day. :)
Good evening everybody.

if you are familiar with the story, sorry for the repetition.
Kentucky Derby is on TV if anyone is interested, NBC.
LOL, Candy, no not me! High School teacher from Ocracoke!!
Sent you a FB message about the BIG BRUSH FIRE in Dare Co. Do you know exactly where?
Yes, Hunter's team ran away with that game. The coach held back a bit so the game would not be stopped under the slaughter rule. Then the other team scored some runs.
Hunter was having a hard time with the catcher's gear the county has, so we went shopping. Man, that stuff is expensive! Kathryn and I split the cost. Of course, Kathryn can sell it when he outgrows it in a year or so.
Kathryn had already bought him a used catcher's glove--used gloves are much less expensive and already broken in. He has a very nice one.
Sorry, Judy....don't know what else to suggest. Better get your teen geek!
Jeopardy--I noticed the teacher from Ocracoke Also a high school teacher from Liberty High School in Bealton, VA. That's just down the road a bit from here.
Gotta go laptop shopping. Will have to give up this laptop when I retire.
My ribs were delicious! Even had a beer with them! Fixed some buttered noodles with parsley and parmesan. Not bad!
I'll bet Lynn would do well on Jeopardy.

Liesl was barking at the dishwasher while I was talking...took a few for me to figure out what had set her off!! She is asleep now.

My Mom had 3 other sisters and my irreverant Dad used to say he got the "pick of the litter"!
hedgie, it was Truder who brought in the fresh flugg next to Belle's Mother's Day Bouquet...
I got one video posted and tagged you all that was the first one when Belle brought in the pretty green and didn't us it HA

I am back from mass - all prayers said so everyone should be feeling better in body and spirit! ♥
Hubby want to watch a movie at
9:00 so I thought I better get in here.
I guess I'll need to wait until I see the weather tomorrow in order to decide about going to Market. I really want some flowers - Megan's flowers....
Watched it, JudyE.
Enjoyed our time outside and then watered pots.
Hoda, your day sounds wonderful!
Loretta, your day sounds interesting!
Mine was enjoyable in that my house is clean, and food prepared for cooking tomorrow.
We went to Academy (sporting goods) and bought a yard game, Ladder Toss. Going to challenge the boys tomorrow, but also will have it to take to Colorado and the beach.
wreck on races
Trainer/owner trying to place
bridle on Lilly
I think that Patience is going to be the name of the game to get that on Lilly! Owner is doing very well - Lilly just isn't cooperating
Be back shortly......... TV

Good play-by-play on the recent encounter---thanks all.

Lolly, haven't heard of that game. Watch your back if you play!!
Shirley, what's Rus's excuse for not trying out?
