Thanks for the callover! Shirley, hope the kids are doing okay.....it is way too hot for that kind of dress-up performance!
Hoda, a wee bit cooler here...only 84° so far. But I'll take the heat over cold---even 48°---any day! Sure wish you COULD come for Open House! Start saving your money for next year!!!!
Judie, hope someone will carry those books in for you! They sure get heavy!
WVGal_Dana, your family seems to have a nack for choosing beautiful states to live in!!! I have seen pictures of West Virginia and think it BEAUTIFUL. I love the mountains in Colorado. Enjoy your visit and I hope your daughter feels better soon.
I have a long day ahead of me so I will log off soon and go to yoga and then to volunteer with the Grans to Grans for most of the afternoon. We have a pews auction on Saturday. They were donated and artists in town transformed them into works of art and we have a People's Choice Awards so the gallery is open for the week and my shift is this afternoon. After the volunteer time I will go to the Chiropractor and then return here by seven PM my time which makes it ten PM EDT...
Oho! That nasty snake did NOT get the barn swallow eggs---at least not all! I can't see the nest but did see parent flying in with food and there is LOTS of poop mess on the gas tank next to the chimney!!! It's the same place they nested last year.
Gee, Hoda, you DO have a long day ahead! Would love to see pics of those pews!!! What a wonderful endeavour! Hope your yoga eventually makes you able to cease the chiropractic!!
So, we are sitting here eating lunch and my neighbor is hanging clothes out on her clothesline. My husband says to me, "I should get you a clothesline."
Sorry folks I have tried very hard to help her. My last suggestion was for her to sign out of Blogger and or google etc. Then restart her system and sign back in. I had not trouble signing in with the info she gave me so I don't think the problem is on Blogger but who knows There is that cop thing. I see she is not here though. Not sure what else to do to help her.
I slept in a bit late this morning, and it felt SOOO good! Emma and I have been having some one-on-one time, too. I got her back nails clipped and filed. She held really still for me! Sounds a little crazy, but I think she appreciated me doing that for her!
I have much to do today, but want to mention that it's good to see Linda, Red, and Glo here today! Red, love the "Owl and the Pussycat" video!
I have been trying to figure out whether the City gave us a new water meter yesterday. I never noticed NOT having running water yesterday. I wonder whether they made it to our end of the street? Might call the City to see whether they can tell me. Have a growing pile of laundry I'd like to take care of, but difficult to accomplish without water.
Lynn, we had Emma spayed when she was 6 months old, and she got her chip then, while under anesthetic. I hope that Liesl doesn't need any surgery anytime soon either! Too bad they don't have something like a car alarm for pets!
Guess I'd better go make some phone calls. I'll check back in later. Hope everyone is having a good day! :o]
Hi Dana. Hope Rashida feels better soon. Will be waiting to hear your Colorado itinerary.
Sure hope the students managed to make it through their event with no dehydration issues.
Library will not come and collect. Will have to prevail on someone to carry them down stairs and to the car.
Hoda, if you could post pictures of the pews we would be delighted. Bet that's going to be really awesome. Hope the yoga helps.
Hi Jim. No doubt by the time I look the rasslin match will be over. Will check on Phoebe.
Lynn, barn swallow?
Oh good grief! Not only is Darth going to have shenanigans with JudyE but also with Glo disguised as JudyE. Remember, ladies, he's old and his ticker might be susceptible.
Okay, going to put my ankle up. Did some cleaning after removing all those books. Ankle not happy.
Not sure how to accomplish this but wonder what would happen if JudyE just completely removed herself from the blog as if she had not ever been here and then started over fresh as a new blogger? Does that make sense? Maybe that's been tried. Oh well. Bye
I think you started over as a new blogger when you had some kind of problem, Judie. You first came on at about the same time I did and then started over the next month or so.
I know some of our friends live in Pa., just don't know exactly where. Thought I'd pass this report on to you:
Tornado watch in effect in Franklin, Fulton counties The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Franklin and Fulton counties in Pennsylvania, effective through 10 p.m. Thursday.
Strong thunderstorms are expected to affect Washington County, Md., on Thursday afternoon, the weather service said
The leather straps on the owl in the video I put up on the old thread are called Jessies. This owl obviously belongs to some person and has been trained to return to a gloved hand like a trained falcon. The strap is there to keep the bird tethered to the glove. This isn't to keep the bird from flying away and not returning, but to keep it from going after small game when the owner doesn't want it to.
Thanks for that memory refresher, Red. I could not for the life of me think of the word jessie, but of course knew aas soon as I read your post!!
Wanda, Suz is in Franklin Co. She should be home by now....left work at 2.
Andy, kind of irritates me that the vet the rescue used in OH didn't microchip Liesl when he spayed her....but also disagree with the age at which he did it. She was only 9 weeks old. :(
Wanda, Gene is right, of course, it's 350 miles give or take a few. Just a nice half day drive and I look forward to it ! It will be so wonderful to meet you both. There are so many of you bird buds I feel I know already through your great blogs, pics and videos.
I, too, am sorry Lolly and Jack can't make it---I wanted us to walk and use our stretchy things together ☺. I do understand about the long trip it is, of course.
Thanks for all the laughs today, JUDIE----clothes from Hoda's "garden"----Lolly n' Gene and Wanda n' Jack---Darth n' Judy n'Glo, what scamp he is !!!!
LYNN, what area of OH was that sickening puppy mill in ? Sounds like the vet was in on the evil if he was willing to spay and neuter puppies at 9 weeks ! Grrrrrrrr. Looks like the forest grapevine is getting the word out about the new cam in the hood. They are all coming to take a look ! This could get interesting.
HODA, sorry you can't make it in Oct., but like Lynn says, start saving your money and Oct. for next year !
LYNN, sure sounds like our overnight storms are about to hit your area now. We're still expecting more tonight again. I thought winter with it's extreme snow, ice and cold would never end. Now I'm thinking the same thing about rain.
Wow, quite a line of storms are developing west of here.
Lynn, you can get Liesl microchipped any time. The microchip is about the size of grain of rice and is injected with a hypodermic needle. They will use a small amount of numbing stuff first. It's just often done at spay or neuter because they are asleep, not because they have to be. We microchip routinely as many people adopt dogs after they've been spayed or neutered.
Regarding the early spays and neuters...there has been no real evidence that it is dangerous in dogs. There was some controversy when these early spays and neuters were first done that there would be long term problems later in life, for instance, female dogs not producing estrogen yet to help with bone developement. You will find a lot of arguing over whether it's a good idea, but again, no real conclusive evidence of problems. Most of the time, 6 mos is when vets will do it. And that is primarily because they want to spay before the female goes into heat the first time. The more "mature" a uterus is, the more difficult in can be to remove as safely. And spaying before first heat has been proven to practically eliminate any chance of the female getting mammary cancer later in life.
Spaying at 8 or 9 weeks started at shelters, though. But not without much research. The reason behind doing it was to prevent adopters from never having it done. Almost every shelter requires the pets that are adopted to be spayed or neuter by a certain age, but many adopters were no complying, or at least not proving it to the shelter. They and most rescues are obviously concerned with irresponsible breeding and pet over population, and that is a sure way to make certain the adopted pets ARE spayed and neutered.
Sign in: I had nothing but problems yesterday, or the day before (when we did the upper right hand corner thing), but it was absolutely problem-free this morning.
Sometimes this blog tells me there was an error and just stops all progress, but I've learned that if I backspace 1 or 2 times, I will come to this page, AND my comment will have been posted.
Well, sky has lightened up a good bit, and wind stopped. Only two big booms of thunder, and maybe a dozen drops of rain. Sotrm is moving NE, so that is taking it away from here....hope it stays away. Headed for PA.
No idea where the mill was, Kay...just that is was in OH. Lynne, I agree wholeheartedly with spaying before the first heat for sure. Funny, tho', that different vets have different thoughts on the age. My vet won't do before 5 mos. which was when he did Mai. The adoption papers stated that if spay apptmt. was not kept (the rescue contracted through Spay Today to make the arrangments with my vet) they would re-take ownership of the pup. Spay Today sends a voucher to the vet---the rescue includes the reduced fee in the adoption fee. As for the microchipping....I will ask if they can do it now. I was told that it was very painful....someone I talked to couldn't believe that Mai's foster mom did the puppies herself!
Went to basement again.....but there is a deer on the corn who doesn't seem alarmed. Just starting to rain...but sure is dark....wind picking up. Have puter off electric and on battery.
Oh, yeah...storm is right here....raining and thundering. Carolyn will be mad----she's pulling an extra shift at work---and she LOVES storms! As Margy can tell you, they are completely isolated from outdoor activity!
Wowser, oh I love that expression, hope Jo does not mind that I plagiarize ☺
Big soaking storm here and the first hail I have seen in many years...about the size of marbles.
Hope everyone is faring okay during these storms...they were all south and west of us most of the day, until NOW things settling down now, thunder all over xox Good Evening Eagle Pals !
NO, not really Lynn, Martinsburg, Really?? did it say where? I HATE storms when I am at work... crackles through the phone lines, power flickers, and high volumes of calls ! Morgan County? was that the tornado warning...makes me worrisome, James is there :(
Lynne2 I would just about kill for a clothesline. No good spot for it here, so now I have washer and dryer...not a bad deal, actually I guess Before I moved here, I had a washer and a clothesline, only time it was difficult was during cold dreary winter days.... one time all my clothes and guy pal's underwear were all over the yard ! After a storm like this that sprung up while we were not home
Soooo Way Cool that Kay is going to join us for Open House, or is that Kay IM, will the real Kay please stand up remember that show? "To Tell the Truth." OH I know where I-M is here... it's me, I Am.. ha ha that's pun, just for Kay ☺
Hoda: sounds like you need two days for every one Friday and Saturday with all that is going on, and I agree with Judie! pictures of the pews would be lovely to see
just listened to the sound of the bololink, Lynne2 on my Thayer's Guide... wow, what a beautiful, unusual song... hope you have seen and heard them today
Okay Eagle pals, hate to tell you this but I stink! Planted a tomato plant at a gal pal's co-workers after work...hot and sweaty and dirty, guess it is safe to use the plumbing now
Judie Is Garth still growly? Oh get this, a report from my naturalist friend in New York:
" Yesterday morning while hunting a bear came about 10 yards away and was stripping bark off of old stumps and logs looking for insects. It never did see me. That was almost as good as seeing a turkey. "
Margy, I didn't catch where---weather radio was going off at same time....but city pd dispatched it... Derick said that Morgan FF's reported 3 twisters seen near Magnolia. Carolyn is being held over til 4AM....so much for my plans for tomorrow. :(
OK its Glo again :-) Anyway JudyE says Hi and Good night all. I am going to check email follow-up comments for her so she can follow along. I still have no problem getting in with her info and she has even changed the password once again. So not sure. Anyway maybe you could all email a HI and good night back from here. It might brighten her day to hear from you all. oK Thanks
Hi Everyone. Hope all are safe and sound in Nestville. TV mentioned about every city up that way getting the storms and maybe quarter sized hail! Saw the still cam--lots of leaves, etc. Gotta check food in oven I am vooking ☺ ~~~
Glo, thanks for being the go between for JudyE ! I had that problem way back when and Paula directed me to delete cookies--it worked ! I'd also tell her to run any anti-virus or mahlware she can.
Lynne, thanks for the comprehensive overview of spaying, neutering and micro-chipping ! I don't plan to need it personally, but find it interesting. Who knows, I may be able to pass it on to someone someday.
Lynn, 3 million odors ? Who knew there were that many ? Malcolm is the sniffiest dog I've ever walked. He must pick up on a couple of mil a day !
Liesl, you are sooooo cute, barking at that big bad bell !
Glo thanks for helping JudyE. What a weird thing. Maybe she should try Judie's suggestion and just start with a brand new account.
Strange stuff now. Engineers at work says it's a BIG problem, beyond the Verizons and ATT's it higher up with the people who provide the lines to them. Kate's company had EVERYONE change their passwords overnight with no notice. It's all odd.
Off to bed now that I'm caught up. I haven't even checked the cameras but I pray they are working tomorrow. I miss the eagles and the people who don't hang around when the eagles aren't there.
Sweet dreams all! See you in the morning KAY, MARGY, MEGAN, DANA and hopefully JUDYE!
and Eagles do not have a good sniff? Where did I read that? And then it said, that's why they can eat some of the fish they do...remember that fish that was on the nest "forever" one year, maybe last year? had to be stinky !
thanks Lynn, read the "breaking news" on Journal site, mentioned Western Morgan Co...James is on THIS side of B Springs...off Spohrs Road...still, too scary
Lori, I'm tying a string around my finger as I "speak" ! Looking forward to the coffee and company !
Lynn, I love the bear reports. I don't have cable but for those of you who do:
This just in: The current plan is for all three episodes of "My Bear Family" (new name) to air on Nat Geo Wild Channel at 8pm EST on Wed, June 8th. This could change but is most likely the way it will premiere. Please let the Lilypadders know. Warm regards, Ted” (the producer from the BBC).
Paula, wishing you safe travel and a wonderful, weather perfect weekend at the beach. You and Nugz get an extra day there due to the holiday, right?
Lynn, 300 million registered in my brain, but my fingers had other ideas !!!! A staggering number !!!
I've been getting message calls from Frontier that I must update my security systems through before sometime in June...No thanks, hope I don't have to use their security system...using Avira Anti-vir and Malware Bytes right now...seems to be doing okay, but guess I better find out what they mean by "Must"
It seems the worst of the weather has passed by my WV pals. Good news.
Am a bit tired tonight. So sorry JudyE is still awol. Won't she be surprised to find out she and Darth are an item?
Kay, look forward to meeting you in October. You really will have a great time.
Liesl must think that little bell is a serious threat. Cute!
Decorah babes are wingersizing and hopping about; Phoebe is tending to her future babes, Lacey seems to be trying to avoid Lilly nursing, and the bears are staking out their territory.
Speaking of staking out territory, I think I'll go to mine before the sandperson shows up.
The night light is on for everyone coming in the door later. Restful sleep.
Good Night Judie Always a pleasure to read your posts Always...xoxo Sleep Sweetly Say Hi to the Sandperson, and then good-bye I think he is headed this way so make it quick Is he Handsome ??? Did you realllllly stub your toe a week back ? Or were you pulling OUR toes ☺ xo
Margy, eagles have NO sense of smell! As to the Moore's....I only ever met them once. Bill and my ex were school mates. Two years ago, when Frank and Bill had the consignment/used furniture shop, Frank found as essay in the back of an old bureau he had bought at a sale. Showed it to me, and I was 99.99% sure that it was written by their daughter. My Bill was supposed to try to get me in touch with Bill Moore so I could have him get Laura in touch with me. Saw this morning that a FB friend from Christie's church had just friended him...so I tried to message him....it wouldn't go thru', so I asked John to have him message me. We hooked up and he then had Laura reach me.....told her what I had----haven't heard back from her yet. Did you know that the lady that was killed in that bad wreck in Jan. (Kimberly Bail) was Laura's partner? I suspected it was the same Laura when I read the obit.
Ok, Lynn. got all that. Yes, I remember that news event and the obituary...imagine it is the same person James's paternal grandpa, (my former husband) was the Town Recorder when Bill was Mayor... Thank you. Hope you hear from them...they live here in town now, Mr. and Mrs....just off N Tenn a couple of blocks I probably have an address and phone number
Judie, I think we have some detective work to do. Are we hearing from Glo on behalf of JudyE or are we hearing from JudyE masquerading as Glo. Are they really one and the same, one person with a dual personality or two separate individuals ? I think I'm going to get started on my best selling mystery novel immediately !
Do you not see a link to a pic on the BWO site, on the left hand side that is entitled a chick" only one pic I have not checked the gallery of photos yet
Good evening! Wow, what a day. We had fun! Enjoyed our time with both boys.
Came home, did some yard work and spent some time with the neighbors looking at the hawk nest. Will tell you about that!
I just want it known that JUDIE is a trouble maker. She is just trying her best to stir up rumors. Watch out for her!!!!! LOL
Pulled up a weather map to watch your weather in WV. You are getting our storms. Woke up to 63 this morning and it has been beautiful all day. So, after your storms maybe you will have beautiful weather too.
Margy - BWO I haven't see any pic from Lisa about a possible hatch being seen. It was mentioned that 'they' thought there was a hatch BUT I don't know who 'they' are. I know Lisa will have a pic published of a 1st hatch on the BWO page. Yes Lynn - I need to see that little bobble head....
Margy.....James on Spohr's Rd... Is that near what they call Spohr's Crossroads? That is where last weeks warning was for!
Oh, Kay, thank you for that info about the bears......you don't get Nat Geo?? TOO BAD! Do you have a VCR??? I can tape it for you! Or check to see if it's going to be viewable online??
No, indeed, Jo, I did not THIS you were blind ☺ I was just beginning to wonder what my dinosaur was up to !
Okay Lynn, Gotcha! Yesterday I was all slathered up with insect repellent, mostly Skin-So-Soft and another herbal remedy, neighbor lady Lorraine told me liked my "perfume" when I went to say Hi...LOL ! It actually DOES smell pretty good
Lynn If Caro is staying over, I suspect someone has called in, off.. have one full-timer that's off sick 'til June 4 - - hmmmmmm.... well, some folks' week-ends are going to be affected :( but probably not mine though I offered
Lynn, no, I gave up cable about four years ago. There are only a few things I miss and Nat'l Geo is one of them. Hadn't thought of watching on line, but I'll bet I can. Thanks for thinking of it ! You are a keeper ! I do supplement regular, few channel TV with Netflix instant play Julie and the guys gave me. There are some wonderful Nat'l Geo documentaries there.
I was indeed Paula, and you should have seen me last week when I planted a tomato at man pal's place...during a rain storm...I was a mess!! But I got 'er done, and the plant is thriving... but I suspect only the tomatoes will bloom and thrive out of that effort LOL, sort of not sure what the folks at Sheetz thought of my dirty bibs get-up today after planting ☺ but my money spent just the same ☺ like the gas prices these days, $3.75 today
WHOOHOO-----just heard from Laura. She remembers that essay!!! It was part of a running joke between her and her dad!!! I'll mail it to her in the morning!!
I am going to head upstairs for the night. Very tired. Tomorrow will be a long day. We have all of our classes for half the usual time and then go outdoors. I get to spend the afternoon at the "lower gate." Somebody is going to have to tell me where that is. There is a gate, then there is an opening in the fence.
I will take plenty of sunscreen and a chair and an umbrella.
Lolly, so glad you enjoyed time with the boys today ! Can't wait to hear about the hawks nest.
Seth just called with great news. He's landed a summer job, 6 weeks starting the last week of June. Technical Computer Writing, some special program designed to provide work for special needs teens. He'll work from 8:30 to 12:30 weekdays earning 30 community service hours and $1000.00 ! I'm so happy for him.
Need to tell you all about the hawks. For years they nested in one of our trees. Then they were nesting in the trees in the back acres of our neighbors across the street. Then last year they were two doors down from us on the same side of the street. That is where our neighbor (who is now deceased) shot one of the hawks. This year they are back across the street and the new neighbor in that house is cutting the nest tree down next week!!! We went over today as we were going to protest. He said their nest was in another tree but we could not find a second nest. Got a good look at the nest in the tree he is having cut down. Did NOT see eaglets but there is poop on the ground. Also, saw mom hawk flying in and out of the nest with a snake in her mouth. Just before we left I think I heard young hawks squawking in near by trees but could not find them. When the hawks were in our trees they did not fledge until mid to late June. Do not know what to think. Brilliant neighbor said "Maybe the mother will move them." I just stared at him, could not think of a thing to say. Finally told him there was no way a mother hawk could move her young. Grrr! Do not know for sure if there are young in the nest, but mom did fly in and leave with that snake dangling! We did what we could do!
Time for me to dent my pillows, too, if I'm to be up and at em' early in the morning. Saying prayers for those in need and saying thanks for each and every one of you. ♫♫♪What a difference you've made in my life...♫♪♪♫
You know I would not leave knowing there was important posts on here
1) Shirley...take a cane ?? and watch out for broken pavement
2) Lolly..that is incomprehensible...any Wildlife Regulations about all that ??? I would say a dangling snake taken to the nest, would indicate hungry babies !!!
Pulling a Margy, after reading about the hawk nest. Makes me sick to think they can't wait long enough to the hawks to finish raising their young. I think an ethical tree service would advise that course of action, but so many are just all about the almighty dollar. Is there any local agency in charge of wildlife protection ? Massive construction jobs have ground to a halt in AZ when such creatures are found on site. Good for you and Jack for speaking up, perhaps the neighbor will do some rethinking after talking to you.
Shirley, take plenty of water out to the gate, too!!! Hope the day is a good one!
Local folks---including Hagersbush/Frederick: Lenox is having a tent sale tomorrow through June 5th, 9am-8pm. Up to 90% off on an inventory blow-out sale. Dinnerware, giftware and more....early Christmas shopping!! From I-81, Exit 5B, Halfway Blvd. West, turn left on Hopewell, take 2nd right onto Hunter;s Green Parkway. Tent sale is on the left. That is what Carolyn and I are supposed to do tomorrow....MTBR!
Shirley, good luck with guard duty tomorrow ! Won't it be nice to be outdoors and to only have your students for half the normal time ? You will be performing many tasks for the last time in the next few days. Yeah !!!!!
I am just hoping the young have fledged. This time of year we should be able to see them and I did hear what I thought was young hawks in a near by thicket of trees. Jack seems to think they are not there. So, I really have nothing to go on. When we had the nest, when they first left, they were on branches and on our fence. Like I said, we did not see any in that tree except for an adult flying in and out with that small snake.
I called the City today, and found out that they didn't give us a new water meter yet. They figured out that they were going to need more meters, so they are waiting to get them. We will get a 24-hour notice again before they do the work. I was glad to find out our status. I had to run the full dishwasher, and do lots of laundry--very difficult when the water is turned off! LOL
Our Band-Tailed Pigeon was back for lunch again today. Have been seeing Eurasian Collared Doves, too. There are at least a couple of occupied Black Crowned Night Heron nests in our big trees, too. (It's the return of the Pterodactyls!)
Lolly, I hope the baby hawks fledge before the neighbor has the tree cut down! Another week might be enough time. Prayers!!
Kay, congratulations on Seth's new job! Sounds like a fantastic opportunity for him!
Lynne2, thanks for posting all the info about spaying, neutering, and microchips! Now that I think about it, seems like they could do a local anesthetic for a microchip implant.
Well, I'm going to head to TV land for a while. Prayers have been said for everyone, and every creature. Making sure the porch light is on. I'm enabling both security systems. Praying for a really good night's sleep for all of us. Will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
Margy, You may talk as much as you like on here! I miss you when you aren't around! Thanks for the reminder about it being RED WEEKEND! I'm going to do a load of red laundry so I'll have enough red shirts to handle it! Sleep tight! :o]
Back before bedtime!! Was on phone to TX. Had to rell daughter about visiting funeral home for our dear longtime friend, Ruby. Overv 40 yrs. ago, wehen we were younger, all used to pal around together. Ruby had been divorced, had 7 kids, worked full time and married one of the guys in our gang, Bob.Around 4th of July the year our daughter was a month old, they invited us to visit them at beach house they rented for a week in No. Beach, MD. After there, we were talked in to staying longer, so guys came home~~got money, formula & diapers. We spent the night and Sherry slept in a dresser drawer lined w/blankets!! Some of Ruby's kids remembered that today! Well, sorry I missed out on chatter tonight, so to all, Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
For any and all having internet issues.....I captured a pic off one of the storknests yesterday and saved it to My Pictures. I emailed it to some folks----when they opened their mail, instead of getting the pic I sent, they got whatever was showing on the cam at the moment they opened the email or attachment. I tried sending it both attached and imbedded---same result either way. WTH??? I sent Red an email to see if he knows HOW that can happen.
Well Good evening everyone. I just got back in and skimmed through the blog. Bad weather every where it seems!!! Today not only was it 48 degrees F it actually brought us fresh snow in the mountains. It is COLD...sweater and coat and socks and shoes....summer oh summer where art thou summer!!!???The pews were lovely I took some pictures and will work on figuring out how to post them...I think I can manage face book posting but will try here too. I need to go do something about supper and will be back later...
That's one of those great memory stories, Loretta! Isn't it funny how they come flooding back sometimes?? Sorry you lost your friend. :( Hope you rest well----how is the knee??
This email from Judy E...I had written her and thought to post her answer so you could see where she is with the blog and also see her greetings.................
JUDY E SAID:
"sooo sweet of you I found out I can't delete my acct If I do I will loose all my blog pictures etc it will be there in limbo but not for me I will try to figure it out There are lots of people with he same issue I read lots of different one today so I'm just going to hang tight and see if it gets fixed I might download Firefox like Scott suggested I'm just not computer literate at all I dislike doing new stuff but I do feel better knowing I'm not the only one Tell all I said hi ok --gonna hit the hay thanks for emailing me BRRRR snow we are about 92"
Can't wait to see the pics, Hoda! More snow---ugh! Hope it STAYS in the mountains for you and doesn't come lower! Stay warm! Turn up the thermomstat. Thanks for Judy's info....if you email her back, tell her that having Firefox is EASY, SAFE, and some things work/run better on it than on IE!!!
I am going to say good night now. Think I'll head for the sofa for awhile and hope the storm passes quickly so I can go take my bath. Prayers for all. Be safe!!
Stay safe hedgie...God Bless and goodnight...sleep well everyone who has already gone to bed see you in the morning...I will spend more time with the blog now and sign off later.
We did have a terrific storm here, in Nestville. All the precursors to a tornado, wind, rain, large hail and very black sky. Had my eagle cane and was ready to head for the basement if we heard the 'roar'. It finally settled down and the sky lit back up. Dodged that bullet...now, radar shows another storm on the way. Think I will just go to bed and ignore it all!
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS FOR ALL
I'm getting in here late.. Was over on FB for awhile.
Good night everyone & praying no one is in harm's weather's way. Prayers for all our needs/wants and offerings of thanksgiving for all the gifts bestowed upon us. Hugs to all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Hi All: Man it was hard to sign in. Will we got through the storm But looks like another one may be on the way. Want the storms to get out of hereby Friday night.Want to go to BOONSBORO TO SEE RICK K AT THE CARNIVAL.
LOLLY! ARGH! I've been searching around for Texas Wildlife Laws concerning HAWKS and there's a ton of info out there. Definitely look up your state and local wildlife laws. TX has laws concerning Hawk feathers, like Eagle feathers you cannot have them, so there's a good chance someone is protecting the Hawks there and that you will find a law that will at least put the tree cutting off until the family has left the nest for the season. Search and you will find a wealth of information. Good luck you wonderful friend of our fine feathered friends! ♥
Must get ready to hit the road. But first, quickly:
MARGY - hope you see the ISS this morning.
KAY - Awesome job for Seth. Must be a smart kid. Takes after his grandma? You bet!
PAULA - I can't even comprehend 3 days is your avian paradise. How awesome for you and Nugz. WOOF!
JUDYE - Please come home. We miss you! ♥
Know I'm forgetting things but will remember on my way to work - hopefully! BBIALW.
JUDYE, I know this is a day off and you're sleeping in and dreaming of good times ahead with Jordyn. Hoping to see your computer problem has been resolved ! Since GLO was able to access the blog using your info, seems like a glitch in your own computer. Bah Humbug !
Question for you green thumbers. I want to put a small evergreen, as in fir tree, in a large pot on my deck. Something that will stay green year round and will not grow larger than the pot will allow for. I don't have an indoor or sheltered place to winter it. So, is there a hardy little evergreen like that ?
OK the pair is docked (should have done my homework first) and will be until Sunday morning nice flyover, bright, got into the sun's glare pretty fast but away it went Moon looks pretty nice too....waning crescent
Good Morning Again and here's a couple of hugs from me: (( hugs )) (( hugs ))

Any update on the live feed, Steve?
Thanks!

Thanks Steve for the new thread.
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!!
Oho! That nasty snake did NOT get the barn swallow eggs---at least not all! I can't see the nest but did see parent flying in with food and there is LOTS of poop mess on the gas tank next to the chimney!!! It's the same place they nested last year.
Mama and Little Po are rasslin in the hammock in Atlanta.
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
it occurs to me that we haven't seen a post from Thelma, here or FB recently. Hope all is OK!
Gee, Hoda, you DO have a long day ahead! Would love to see pics of those pews!!! What a wonderful endeavour!
Hope your yoga eventually makes you able to cease the chiropractic!!
test Trying to see if I could sign JudyE in from my computer so its glo NOT JudyE if this works
Not quite a dozen here yet - I'm
sure they are headed over.
Now go find JudyE for us, Glo.
Thanks Steve for the new thread.
Hope all is well on the campus...
Have you or anyone seen the eagle
couple recently?
BBL
Hi, Jim!! Glad to see you made it back in the door!! No rhyme or reason to blogger cop's craziness, is there??!!
LOL....Glo made it in as JudyE! But no sign yet of the real deal!
ARGH!
So, we are sitting here eating lunch and my neighbor is hanging clothes out on her clothesline. My husband says to me, "I should get you a clothesline."
Hmmmmm.
Not sure what else to do to help her.
wonder what the trouble is? thanks for trying to help her Glo! I seem to be one of the few who has not yet had a problem signing in.
Good Afternoon, Everyone!
Good afternoon.
Hi Steve and thank you for the fresh thread.
BBL
Not sure how to accomplish this but wonder what would happen if JudyE just completely removed herself from the blog as if she had not ever been here and then started over fresh as a new blogger? Does that make sense? Maybe that's been tried. Oh well. Bye
I think the parade is this evening for the band kids. Culpeper is big on parades.
I think you started over as a new blogger when you had some kind of problem, Judie. You first came on at about the same time I did and then started over the next month or so.
I know some of our friends live in Pa., just don't know exactly where. Thought I'd pass this report on to you:
Tornado watch in effect in Franklin, Fulton counties
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Franklin and Fulton counties in Pennsylvania, effective through 10 p.m.
Glo, thanks for you efforts on JudyE's behalf. Very confounding to be confronted with these issues.
Severe storm watch for our entire area now.
BTW....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN HEAVEN TO "THE DUKE", JOHN WAYNE!
Tornado warning in county next to me---like one mile away...think I'll go to the basement. BBL.
TORNADO WARNING.....just east and south of Cumberland, cell is heading north east into PA. Line of storms itself is moving eastward
tornado warning
I think you're OK Lynn, looks to be heading just north of you...but basement not a bad idea just in case.
Hi, again...
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Wow, temp in Berkeley Springs dropped 12° in 15 mins. Only 1° here. Severe storm warning extended until 6, tho'.
Good evening everybody - from lovely Bluefield, West Virginia!!!!
Okay, y'all be careful over there in WV. Windy here but no rain or storm.
Hail and a potential tornado were threatening region
www.herald-mail.com Hagerstown MD
Golf-ball sized hail and a potential tornado were threatening the region as a severe thunderstorm worked its way to through area at about 5:30 p.m.
I am eating dinner and I will check back in with you. It is very
clear here in Frederick....
Forgot to tell you something I learned last night in class. DID YOU KNOW.....that dogs recognize/know 300,000,000 odors?????
Weather radio is going crazy. Of course it covers the 4-state area.
But dark and wind picking up here again.
Hold onto something solid folks in West Virginia, western Maryland, and western Virginia. Wicked weather out there.
Went to basement again.....but there is a deer on the corn who doesn't seem alarmed. Just starting to rain...but sure is dark....wind picking up. Have puter off electric and on battery.
bad cell Lynn, just to the west of you....it's kinda bobbling but you may get a hit from it.
Sky is dark and threatening, but nothing yet in Hagerstown.
Oh, yeah...storm is right here....raining and thundering.
Carolyn will be mad----she's pulling an extra shift at work---and she LOVES storms! As Margy can tell you, they are completely isolated from outdoor activity!
Liesl was barking like crazy and crouching at something under the table....was almost afraid to look. Turned out to be the bell off her collar!
Rain is at least saving me from having to sprinkle the ant killer I put down this afternoon!!
Hedgie where are you exactly?
Hey, Shar! How goes it, gal???
Judie....thanks....taking all precautions. BTW----love your butterfly! Have seens LOTS of frittilaries, but no monarchs yet.
Pouring....black as night.....
Raining this hard will wash away the ant stuff! Hail! Awful storm.....flooding in driveway......temp now 66.
DanaMo, I'm on the Berkeley/Morgan Co line just off Rt. 9 west.
I'm just off Rt. 11 a little ways and it has finally hit. Pouring down in sheets!
I'm very close to the Mason Dixon line! :)
Had a patio poured today. I guess it will be okay. Hope it doesn't do this over the weekend. Graduation on Saturday, pool party on Sunday!
Wowser, oh I love that expression, hope Jo does not mind that I plagiarize ☺
Big soaking storm here and the first hail I have seen in many years...about the size of marbles.
Hope everyone is faring okay during these storms...they were all south and west of us most of the day, until NOW
things settling down now, thunder all over
xox Good Evening Eagle Pals !
sure was hoping to get a peek at the Royal Nest :(
boht adults at BWE, and that strange object (duct tape)
also
Report (unconfirmed, of course) of a touchdown in Martinsburg city.
Two inches of water in front of kennel gate....Liesl will need to swim to get to yard! LOL----of course, Mom will carry her out!!
NO, not really Lynn, Martinsburg, Really??
did it say where?
I HATE storms when I am at work...
crackles through the phone lines, power flickers, and high volumes of calls !
Morgan County? was that the tornado warning...makes me worrisome, James is there :(
Lynne2
I would just about kill for a clothesline. No good spot for it here, so now I have washer and dryer...not a bad deal, actually I guess
Before I moved here, I had a washer and a clothesline, only time it was difficult was during cold dreary winter days....
one time all my clothes and guy pal's underwear were all over the yard ! After a storm like this that sprung up while we were not home
Soooo Way Cool that Kay is going to join us for Open House, or is that Kay IM, will the real Kay please stand up
remember that show?
"To Tell the Truth."
OH I know where I-M is here...
it's me, I Am..
ha ha that's pun, just for Kay ☺
was nice to see Glo, would be nice to see JudyE also
crazy when things just "act up" out of the blue !
Hope everything turns out okay with the patio and the Week-end activities DanaMo !
Hoda:
sounds like you need two days for every one Friday and Saturday with all that is going on, and I agree with Judie!
pictures of the pews would be lovely to see
oh my the Kestrel babies:
American Kestrel Cam, Nebraska
Evening, all!
Left work early, went and go my "do did"...back home and it is windy and finally raining!
Just checked radar, that's an impressive line of t'storms!
just listened to the sound of the bololink, Lynne2
on my Thayer's Guide...
wow, what a beautiful, unusual song...
hope you have seen and heard them today
Okay Eagle pals, hate to tell you this but I stink! Planted a tomato plant at a gal pal's co-workers after work...hot and sweaty and dirty, guess it is safe to use the plumbing now
Judie
Is Garth still growly?
Oh get this, a report from my naturalist friend in New York:
" Yesterday morning
while hunting a bear came about 10 yards away and was stripping bark
off of old stumps and logs looking for insects. It never did see me.
That was almost as good as seeing a turkey. "
ttfn xoxox
Hi Paula
you would think I had my Magpie avatar up the way I have been gabbing on and on
Hi Nugz: These are for you:
xoxo ^^>><< [[ ]] }} {{
(the latter symbols are supposed to be scratches ) ♥
Nugz says "woof" ☺
He enjoyed the scratches and the belly rub! ☺
Thankful everyone is still here.
Nothing yet coming down ...
Lynn - Funny story about the 'Bell under the Table' ..
I've been watching the loon and BWO
Both nest are close to hatchings
I also had to check out Lacey and Lilly's stall. Didn't check today
due to I think the outside cam is
down.
Margy, I didn't catch where---weather radio was going off at same time....but city pd dispatched it...
Derick said that Morgan FF's reported 3 twisters seen near Magnolia.
Carolyn is being held over til 4AM....so much for my plans for tomorrow. :(
Jo, you won't get any! Headed north of me....mine is just about over.
Also, Margy, Mo Co called all units to their stations to stand by right before the storm hit here.
DanaMo....sure hope your concrete survived!!! Always a tricky endeavour!
Margy, don't you love tomato plant eau deau??? I do!
Paula....are you going down to the beach house for the weekend??
Sending my hugs to Nugz, too!
Margy, did you know Bill and Mary Kate Moore??
Jo, hope you took it easy today!! You've been TOO busy for the last week!
OK its Glo again :-) Anyway JudyE says Hi and Good night all. I am going to check email follow-up comments for her so she can follow along. I still have no problem getting in with her info and she has even changed the password once again. So not sure. Anyway maybe you could all email a HI and good night back from here. It might brighten her day to hear from you all. oK Thanks
Hi JudyE! Hope you can get back on here soon!
Lynn, heading down tomorrow night! :) Give Liesl a pet pet from me!
Nice to be able to relax a bit tonight! Only doing 2 loads of laundry and a fruit salad for the weekend.
Hi Everyone. Hope all are safe and sound in Nestville. TV mentioned about every city up that way getting the storms and maybe quarter sized hail!
Saw the still cam--lots of leaves, etc.
Gotta check food in oven I am vooking ☺ ~~~
Loretta, the cam is down, it's a repeat!
JudyE, you may want to delete all your cookies, but be careful doing this, it may also delete login id's and saved passwords.
LOL, Margy, U R A good punster !
LOLLY loved your early morning visit today!
Loretta....did you talk to your friends in Paw Paw? Everything thing okay up there? I think Magnolia is close to Paw PAw.....right???
KAY - remind me to tell you about dog sniffing tomorrow. It's very interesting. :) Night all.
Goodnight JudyE!! Sorry things are so messed up. Left you messages on FB! Did you try?
Da Bears
Kay---300 million!!!
BWO mentions a possible hatch, and has a picture link of a possible Little Head
and a Big Friendly Woof back to Nugz, Paula
Yes, Lynn, I know the Moores..what's up? And did someone on night shift call in
sick, is that why Jewels is staying over ??
and Eagles do not have a good sniff? Where did I read that?
And then it said, that's why they can eat some of the fish they do...remember that fish that was on the nest "forever" one year, maybe last year? had to be stinky !
thanks Lynn, read the "breaking news" on Journal site, mentioned Western Morgan Co...James is on THIS side of B Springs...off Spohrs Road...still, too scary
very much a bummer to read others having Dinosaur-type problems on their newer computers...
Hello JudyE and thanks Glo, for the interactive reports
Oh Paula, I have had some of your fruit salad! (last year at our little two-person nest visit)
See you at the Beach !!
Night-Night, Lori...hope to see you in the morning, because I am getting up EARLY to search for ISS and Endeavor
5:12 am our time hereabouts...
See You in the Morning !
I've been getting message calls from Frontier that I must update my security systems through before sometime in June...No thanks, hope I don't have to use their security system...using Avira Anti-vir and Malware Bytes right now...seems to be doing okay, but guess I better find out what they mean by "Must"
Check out BWO---can see SO much better in the infrared light....there MAY be a hatch....MTBR!
speaking of moniker names,
Jim used to be Movin' Jim for the longest time, and sometime or another he dropped the "Movin"
It's been awhile...
just mentioned that a few posts back, Lynn...more in the morning, or before 2300 night-night cam time there I hope !!
Lynn
I'm stumped
tomato Eau Deau...
please help me out so I can answer your question ! ☺
I have not seen any little loonie
pop its black fuzzy head out from
under his momma/poppa's wing.
No sign yet at BWO of their 1st hatch. At least it is 15 sec refresh.
Jo
did you see the picture link of maybe a little head at BWO
figure you have
we want to see it for ourselves, don't we !!!
Good Night Judie
Always a pleasure to read your posts
Always...xoxo
Sleep Sweetly
Say Hi to the Sandperson, and then good-bye
I think he is headed this way so make it quick
Is he Handsome ???
Did you realllllly stub your toe a week back ? Or were you pulling OUR toes ☺
xo
Oh, the essay was written when she was still in high school!
Where are the BWO pics? I can't find any.
Ok, Lynn. got all that.
Yes, I remember that news event and the obituary...imagine it is the same person
James's paternal grandpa, (my former husband)
was the Town Recorder when Bill was Mayor...
Thank you.
Hope you hear from them...they live here in town now, Mr. and Mrs....just off N Tenn a couple of blocks
I probably have an address and phone number
Judie, I think we have some detective work to do. Are we hearing from Glo on behalf of JudyE or are we hearing from JudyE masquerading as Glo. Are they really one and the same, one person with a dual personality or two separate individuals ? I think I'm going to get started on my best selling mystery novel immediately !
Do you not see a link to a pic on the BWO site, on the left hand side that is entitled
a chick"
only one pic
I have not checked the gallery of photos yet
Good evening! Wow, what a day. We had fun! Enjoyed our time with both boys.
Came home, did some yard work and spent some time with the neighbors looking at the hawk nest. Will tell you about that!
I just want it known that JUDIE is a trouble maker. She is just trying her best to stir up rumors. Watch out for her!!!!! LOL
Pulled up a weather map to watch your weather in WV. You are getting our storms. Woke up to 63 this morning and it has been beautiful all day. So, after your storms maybe you will have beautiful weather too.
Wanda...you are so sweet! But, let me say too....that you did not look bad at all with a towel wrapped around your head! LOL
Margy - BWO I haven't see any pic
from Lisa about a possible hatch
being seen.
It was mentioned that 'they' thought there was a hatch BUT I
don't know who 'they' are.
Margy---you talked about stinking after planting the tomato plant, thus my tomato eau deau remark!!
Don't know why Caro has to work over....just got a quick text because I would have tried to call her at MN when she was supposed to get off.
WOWSIE Margy! Lynn I had not refreshed my BWO so that when Lisa
put up the NEWS I didn't see it at
all.
Margy did you this we were Blind!
And we thought you were seeing things! lol
Lynn, were you referring to Margy's special Eau du Tomat Parfume ?
I feel safer at Swinging Bridge than I will at 5:12 in the morning here but I'm going to go out and look for ISS-Endeavor anyway !
Goodnight, Lori---you're tucking in LATE! Wow---sounds like a really big communications problem---wonder what is going on??!
No, indeed, Jo,
I did not THIS you were blind ☺
I was just beginning to wonder what my dinosaur was up to !
Okay Lynn, Gotcha!
Yesterday I was all slathered up with insect repellent, mostly Skin-So-Soft and another herbal remedy, neighbor lady Lorraine told me liked my "perfume" when I went to say Hi...LOL !
It actually DOES smell pretty good
Lynn
If Caro is staying over, I suspect someone has called in, off..
have one full-timer that's off sick 'til June 4 - -
hmmmmmm....
well, some folks' week-ends are going to be affected :(
but probably not mine though I offered
I think Margy was wearing "Eau du Dirt" LOL
Goodnight, Judie. Rest well. Hope you have help toting those books tomorrow.
Mom BWO has been really restless tonight!
BBIALW, gotta go fold first load of laundry
Ah yes...that would be sellable, Kay, Eau du Tomat Parfume !
I actually bought a candle last year with the fragrance of a tomato plant! It was great!
OK---refreshed BWO page and yep, found the pic....can't tell a thing!!!
Margy, actually Bill told me they live off Welltown Rd. now.
I was indeed Paula, and you should have seen me last week when I planted a tomato at man pal's place...during a rain storm...I was a mess!!
But I got 'er done, and the plant is thriving...
but I suspect only the tomatoes will bloom and thrive out of that effort
LOL, sort of
not sure what the folks at Sheetz thought of my dirty bibs get-up today after planting ☺ but my money spent just the same ☺

RED FRIDAY
tomorrow! How could I almost forget that !!!
All week-end for that matter if I have enough RED things to wear
Happy to see that Seth has a job for the summer. Yay!!
You can only do so much, Lolly. Some people just do not care.
Time for me to dent my pillows, too, if I'm to be up and at em' early in the morning. Saying prayers for those in need and saying thanks for each and every one of you. ♫♫♪What a difference you've made in my life...♫♪♪♫
♥L♥I♥B♥E♥R♥T♥Y !!!!!!
Oh, Lolly, sounds like wonderful neighbors...grrrr
Kay, so glad Seth landed a job! Good for him!
WOOF !!!!!!
Yes, Kay - awesome job that Seth has lined up....
You must be so proud ♥
Just saw the chick move at BWO!!!
Oh, Margy, I remember when Bill was Mayor and Ken was Recorder!
How many years ago was that????!!!!
Margy, hope the skies clear so you can see ISS at that awful hour!!
Sleep tight til then and then go back to bed!
Shirley, good luck with guard duty tomorrow ! Won't it be nice to be outdoors and to only have your students for half the normal time ?
You will be performing many tasks for the last time in the next few days. Yeah !!!!!
REALLY, Paula??? COOL! Did you write Lisa??
Kay, how wonderful for Seth! What a great opportunity for him!
Whoo Hoo!!!
Lolly, why not try to call the Audubon Society? Maybe they would go talk to this jerk!
All righty Osprey-Eyed Paula!
Congratulations Blackwater, Lisa and all the Folks there !!
No, I didn't email Lisa, but I will now.
Paula did you also take a pic?
The excellent lighting at the loon's nest is so good that you wouldn't miss a little loonie if he
came out.
Yea, Jo, I did, but I didn't get 2 in a row to show the movement.
I put the osprey chick pic on the EM blog...it's really just a dark spot in the picture, but it was vertical in the prior frame.

Hi, Everyone,
Dropping in to say goodnight.
Lisa emailed me back, she saw it moving too!
Oh man my washer is nasty...tried washing some old water shoes...they fell apart! Now I got black stuff stuck to the agitator!
Margy,
You may talk as much as you like on here! I miss you when you aren't around! Thanks for the reminder about it being RED WEEKEND! I'm going to do a load of red laundry so I'll have enough red shirts to handle it! Sleep tight! :o]
Oh, yuk, Paula! Don't you just hate it when something like that happens.
Andy, pterodactyl lady! Sounds like fun! Hope you get more pics!!
Oh, Paula.....what a mess that must be.....can you remove your agitator? It would be easier to work on it. Try some Goo-B-Gone or lighter fluid!
Well, sorry I missed out on chatter tonight, so to all,
Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Lynn, I have no clue how that happened, unless it saves it as a link and not a picture file.
Hoda, sorry for your cold weather! Yuk!
Guess I'll get out the goo gone later!
Gonna go fold the last load and hit the hay!
(((Hugs for all ♥)))
That's one of those great memory stories, Loretta! Isn't it funny how they come flooding back sometimes?? Sorry you lost your friend. :( Hope you rest well----how is the knee??
This email from Judy E...I had written her and thought to post her answer so you could see where she is with the blog and also see her greetings.................
JUDY E SAID:
"sooo sweet of you I found out I can't delete my acct If I do I will loose all my blog pictures etc it will be there in limbo but not for me I will try to figure it out There are lots of people with he same issue I read lots of different one today so I'm just going to hang tight and see if it gets fixed I might download Firefox like Scott suggested I'm just not computer literate at all I dislike doing new stuff but I do feel better knowing I'm not the only one Tell all I said hi ok --gonna hit the hay thanks for emailing me BRRRR snow we are about 92"
More tornado warnings---a couple of counties away in WV and VA.....but moving in this general direction and on this side of I-81. No fun!
Thunder, lightening and rain here, but stars were just showing two minutes ago.....
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SWEET DREAMS

Going to go bathe.

Hi All: Man it was hard to sign in. Will we got through the storm But looks like another one may be on the way. Want the storms to get out of hereby Friday night.Want to go to BOONSBORO TO SEE RICK K AT THE CARNIVAL.
STILL CAM AND LIVE CAM ARE BOTH STILL ON THE FRITZ.
I HOPE THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL BE OUT ALL WEEKEND - THROUGH TUESDAY OR MORE!?#*@^!(#)!!!:#
LORETTA - That's a very sweet story about your friend Ruby. So very sorry for your loss.
LOLLY!
BBIALW.
Good gLORIous WEAR RED ON FRIDAY morning out there !
Here's hoping the weather tamed down so everyone had a peaceful, restful night ! Such was the case in Columbus, thankfully.
LORI, I have a string on my finger this morning, do you remember why ? ;o)
JUDYE, I know this is a day off and you're sleeping in and dreaming of good times ahead with Jordyn. Hoping to see your computer problem has been resolved ! Since GLO was able to access the blog using your info, seems like a glitch in your own computer. Bah Humbug !
Hi KAY! ((BIG MORNING HUG!))
Give me a few min. to get caught up and I'll tell you about that string. :)
Question for you green thumbers. I want to put a small evergreen, as in fir tree, in a large pot on my deck. Something that will stay green year round and will not grow larger than the pot will allow for. I don't have an indoor or sheltered place to winter it. So, is there a hardy little evergreen like that ?
Okay Lori and Kay
I am Up
