Lots of cleaning to do before the MIL and SIL come for graduation. This morning I will try to get the dining room put back together before school. I'll check in again, but it looks like our visit was very short today.
PAULA, I don't know what color of red your neighbors have used in their kitchen. My daughter, Eileen, has a red kitchen in her Michigan home. The kitchen is small and largely light cabinets, but she put a deep Chili red on the small amount of painted surface. Two windows with off white Roman shades and a good sized bunch of ceramic peppers hanging above the sink. The peppers are red, green and gold. I think it's stunning !
JUDY - officially sunrise is 5:49, but it begins getting lighter before that. You can see light on the horizon around 5:25. Truders visit this morning was especially early.
Lori thanks for the info That is what I thought don't remember reading it to be any earlier I still can't believe he was here at 517 I hope thats just a one time deal HA HA I have my cock set for 530 looks like I need to back it up a little more HUH
Wouldn't it be great to be a sort of missionary where you would live simply and travel bu bus with others like you to locations in need? Like Joplin, Tuscaloosa, Katrina victims territory? Started thinking about this yesterday, but I like it. Lots of details to work on. :)
LYNN, reading back I note you were a long time 2nd Shifter. I spent the last 20 years of my work life on Swing. It took me about 2 years to get myself on a schedule that fits in better with the lives of those around me !
I know our weather man said that the Plain states are going to have it bad today later this afternoon that it is sitting up for a bad day -I pray for all to be safe
Hey on the news yesterday that said that Joplin was the first city to help with the Ala tornado last month That they have a facebook page Joplin M.O and Alabama Prayers and Relief Program Ironic that now its reversed HUH
LORI, what a beautiful idea you have for aiding folks in need ! I heard that hundreds of AmeriCorp young people are being shuttled around from one disaster to the next. They are seeing and dealing with some unimaginable things--a life changing experience, I'm sure. God bless em' !
Once you're over 45 you are too old, according to the Government, to do anything like that. So, I'm thinking for people 55 and over. We'd have to get a big company to underwrite it, and apply for grants. Have 4 units in each quadrant of the country. Maybe it's just easier to go with the Red Cross, but I was hoping for more grass roots appeal. Sorry, blabbing. :)
Yes, the vultures do react Kay. Though both parents tend the nest like eagles, only one parent sits at a time and when I check on them, it flies off the nest and out. It can take off straight up through a hole in the roof, or out the front dutch door which the top half is open, or out the back which is generally falling apart! I really hate bothering them but am relieved to know all is well. I won't check again for another 2 weeks.
As of this moment, I'm planning to drive, LORI. It's a six hour drive and will, hopefully, be before the snow flies. I am an avid driver and a reluctant flier, at least if the trip is less than a 8 hour drive.
I usually leave about this time, but am sticking around until someone else comes in the door. You can get called away at any time and we need someone watching for a Truder return or, even better, a Belle visit.
Kay you could be here a while. I was so lonely yesterday morning. Judy E was here briefly, and after you were stormed out, no one showed up until around 8 - maybe later. :)
Okay, LORI, I'm heading out the door. Sure doesn't look like our eagles are going to return for a while. Probably a good day for fishing and filling up those crops before the next rain begins !

LORI, you are SO right. Can't imagine how he picks up followers. Some folks lead lonely lives of desperation, I reckon.
HEY - over here now! We split.
Hey LORI, you got wax. I hadn't paid a bit of attention to the count !
Aha, DANA, the countdown toward graduation is underway. I'm betting they won't be bringing white gloves along for the visit !
What about all the stupid people that have no money now because they spent it all thinking it was the end. that was just on the news also
no one announced color on nest AWWW
what time is sunrise at the nest?? I was gonna google but easier just to ask.
COLOR at the nest!

Poor Joplin. They are expecting more rough weather. Wish Mother Nature would give them a break. :(

I didn't notice what if anything he brought was surprised to see him

With only 50,000 residents, the help Joplin gave Alabama is an amazing thing, JUDYE. Thanks for sharing that factoid !

LORI, I love getting your Vulture reports ! Do they react in any way when you take a look ?
Blab on, LORI ! That's the way new charitable movements begin, as one bright idea leads to another.

Sure wish I had a Blue Bird nest, LYNNE!
Hey, where is Megan this morning?
Ok off to work I go I hope each of you have a great day and stay safe with the impending storms on the horizon for today
HAGO, JUDYE !
LORI, I miss Megan, too. We need our M & M's ! Megan & Margy !
Kay, which airport will you fly into for Open House? Do you need a ride?
As of this moment, I'm planning to drive, LORI. It's a six hour drive and will, hopefully, be before the snow flies. I am an avid driver and a reluctant flier, at least if the trip is less than a 8 hour drive.
If I were to decide to fly what would my airport options be ?
I'm with you...driving is better. Six hours isn't bad and could be enjoyable if you find places where you would like to stop/shop along your way.

It's okay, I don't have a job to go to or anyplace I must be today. I'm bouncing in and out of this window, looking at e-mail, other nests.....

Have a gLORIous day !
