GOOD MORNING PAULA-- We were talking a few evenings ago about coming to Emmitsburg for dinner at Dave & Janes. We tried to pull up a menu, but couldn't find one. Do they have Crab Legs? I am not crazy about Blue Crabs.
Wanda, you asked a question on previous blog, not sure you got an answer... Bonaire is in the Netherlands, and Frieda is in Brisbane, Australia. Peggy's Cove is in Nova Scotia. We're just a bunch of armchair world travelers here on this blog!
Good Morning. The sun isn't over the Sierras yet but the sky is turning light. I am dressed, pantyhose and hot rollers in and on.I hate getting up before the sun. Fall is coming but you wouldn't know it for today. They say 105 today.Typical State Fair weather. Yuck. Oh well it wont last long. Where Jim lives is the ideal weather. I hope you all have a beautiful day and something will bring you smiles. Things are a little rough this morning. My brother is in the hospital in Ohio and I feel pretty helpless. He had a heart attack and I went through the same thing with both parents. Its scary.I know it isn't his time to go but the realization that it will be someday is hard. We have always been close. I have another brother in Oregon who says he may fly back. He is a doctor and wants to be sure he is taking care of.Well I had better get on the ball. I'm glad I got my watering done last night. Hugs and smiles.
PAULA-- I use to love Blue crabs. There was a place on the mountain near Thurmont (think it was The Blue Mountain Inn), and we went there with a group of our friends almost every weekend. We sat at picnic tables in the restaurant and they would place newspapers on the tables and we would eat our weight in blue crabs. I guess I ate too many over the years. Then someone introduced me to Alaskan crab legs and that was all she wrote for Blues. Haven't had on since.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE Annemarie, saying prayers for your brother...Wanda, Bonnaire is a part of the Antilles, it is to the right of Aruba, it is under the Netherlands Flag, and Paula gave the rest of the location. If you go on the Weather Channel that is on the site you can see its location...alot of times hurricanes pass right by.
Megan and Suzanne, thanks for the updates on the Momster site. Megan I think your Mayor and Council are related to the nutcases down here at the ocean.
Did you see that? One refresh Finny is having fits, next refresh Dad is there and Finny has a fish in his mouth! Boy, that was quick! Next refresh Dad is gone, and Finny's hogging the fish.
Hey gang I was just turning off the computer and I saw I got an email from Yahoo. It said I won a lotto of some kind. The address was England. Have any of you got the same thing? I bet its one of those spam things. Any way please email me if you have any news. I have to go..
Suzanne, why would Fish and Wildlife issue permits that could harm the Bald Eagles....I thought this was all mapped out along time ago, but it is what I think I suspected would happen if you have eagles on your property it is fair game to get rid of them....STEVEN, if you can jump in here and educate me.
Mits, I wondered the same thing, but that one guy who has property and sued comes to mind. But I got that email from a good source, so I signed to keep at least the protections that we currently have in place! Did not send the email to Steve Chase, but I can.
Let me look into this before I comment. From the email I saw, this is a proposed rule. Everyone interested should look at the rule proposed and comment on it.
Yes Suzanne I thought of the same guy who got this ball rolling. Thanks, Steven for looking into it:). Anne I don't open those things just report it to spam, most show up in my screened mail now. Wanda and Gene, it is one of my favorite cards of Ms. Lawson's
On June 5, 2007, the Service also opened a 90-day public comment period on a proposal to create a permit program to authorize limited “take” of bald and golden eagles where the take is associated with, and not the purpose of, otherwise lawful activities. The proposed rulemaking also contains proposed provisions to extend Eagle Act authorizations to persons authorized to take bald eagles under an ESA permit. In addition, the proposed permit would establish provisions to remove eagle nests in rare cases where their location poses a risk to human safety or to the eagles themselves, for example, in close proximity to an airport runway.
Here's a link to the proposal, but still can't find comment place...
The email I sent around to Momsters has a link to comment. Defenders of Wildlife have written the letter, all you have to do is fill in the left side of the screen with your info. You may also add any comments you wish to either the subject line or the body of the letter. The new act is RIN 1018-AV11.
Ahhh. Squiggles was laying on her back, and Bai was watching her. Bai reached over and I guess just touched her for a sec. Now Bai just left the den! Squiggles still laying on her back, but it's so dark, very hard to see. I thought for a sec Bai was gonna take Squiggles with her. CAM ZOOMED!
Uh oh, there went themouth wide open. She's getting frustrated! Still trying, though, bless her heart. oh, mouth open again. Using head to push along with paws now...squirming all around, but can't get on that tummy...mouth again, I'll bet she's squawking!
Well, good shot of the butt, I guess. Maybe they're trying to see if she's a girl or a boy. Geesh, out there for all the world to see, poor kid! Still kicking and rolling from side to side.
Good Morning everyone. I walked past the clock and thought it said 1:30. DUH. It has been a busy morning already. Just checked teh Seneca Cam, it is back up and running. Guess Jim went out and kicked it again before he left. LOL
Got word this morning that one of the magistrates resigned, so if anybody local is looking for a part time job, there is one available. Wish I could say we would miss him but......... He was very controlling and wouldn't help us out when we had family events etc. For the last 8 months myself and the other guy have been switching back and forth and helping each other out but he wouldn't do anything to help us. It all came to a head when we said ENOUGH and put him on the schedule out of sequence. Oh well. Lots of overtime coming up. No sleep but overtime is good
She sure isn't moving so much, is she? Bet she's really tired! That was just priceless to see! Won't Bei be surprised when she comes back in and see's her little baby on her tummy!!
I remember when my sister and I would wacth Tai Shan's every move and be routing for him to turn over or take a first step, and listen to him crying, it was a fun time.
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Take a breath for Squiggles, taking a BIG nap now! eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
As you all know - I did NOT win the Mega Millions lottery last night! :( Now I'll go for Friday evening and then I could get $325 M Hey Wanda - that's a lot of crab legs!
Looks as though ButaButa is now over in the hammock room where YangYang had been. She sure is smelling all around! Only 7 more days to 1st b-day... Finny is sitting in the nest - Puleston nest MT One chick in CT nest
Almost time for a panda nap Tomorrow I will have 3 great grandkids with their mom & my daughter here for lunch! Can't wait but need to rest up for it!
Jill - wouldn't that be the ultra skateboard park ever! Wouldn't even need to charge an admission!
I could do such GOOOOOOOOD with mad money!
My clock is on time, Jim. Suzanne was watching Squiggles roll over all by him/herself before she left - but she was on time leaving I think. Norma, who isn't on yet, always pins Suzanne down as to when she leaves.
The weather, since all that rain, has really been sunny and breezy - of course, who am I to judge since I am recuperating inside with the AC? I do venture out on the deck quite often to sit and catch some of the sun's rays! They have healing power!
Jim, do you have peach groves in CA? The peaches here this year have been delicious!
No beach yet, Mits! I think I need to sit on the deck for a few & then I must get serious about my panda nap! lol Daughter Susan and family headed down to visit Ryan at Ft Stewart over this Labor Day holiday. He may get leave first part of Oct to come up this way before deployment....... I sure hope so!

The farm is between Harper's Ferry and Shepherdstown.. I need RELIABLE people and am still looking for help. It's from 9 am til about 1:30 mon. thru Fri. some days shorter days, depends on how many schools booked each day.
I know some of you have been to Hagerstown and out at Longmeadow Shopping Center to the Pennslyvania Dutch Market... If not you should go so much to see and homemade food..
HAHAHAHAHAHAaaaaaaaaaa Jill well down at the Dutch Market all kinds of homemade candies... cakes... pies... breads... salads...lunchmeats.. it fatting to walk in the door..lol

I know you are going to miss Diana, She has been around long enough to have wrapped herself around your heart. You will probably wear out a couple sets of tires in the next 6 months going to visit her.
LOL ok now wait a minute here... They have great crabs right here in Martinsburg at the Cheasapeak Crab House at the light on Winchester Avenue next to the pawn shop... I am not sure about the hours Jill but i know not Sundays.. We could ride down some day for lunch they have aresturant inside...
Hi Nilla! I had mentioned one day, hoping you would see, the name that Tiger Woods gave his little girl! It was Sam Alexis Woods! Ironically my 2 great grandgals are Sam and Alexis! I won't forget Tiger's little gal's name soon.
Dana - I really think it was the Blue Mountain Inn that Wanda mentioned. South Mountain Inn is right up here on 40A at the entrance we went in to the Washinton Monument Park for our picnic.
HOW ARE YOU DOING? I was laughing today thinking about getting you some wax for that hairy knee! lol
DANA-- No, it was the Blue Mountain Inn. I asked Gene to be sure and he said that is what it was called. It may not be there anymore. South Mountain is on old Rt. 40. We use to go there also. Really good food.
JO-- That WAX letter was hysterical. But, I'm not quite sure what it means when you tell someone "You got Wax". Does that mean we are in trouble or something to that effect?
No Jo i didnt see that but i saw his baby on tv i think it was last weekend when he won the golf game... She is adorable.... Dana Wanda said they use to eat over there, i also remember it.. We are talking about Dave & Janes near Emmitsburg...Steamed Crabs..Alaskan Crab Legs..Broasted Chicken.. soups... salad.. and more for about 32.00 AYCE... How are you doing ?
Surfing i found these beautiful picture takin on vacation to Europe Venice.. Greece and Turkey beautiful pictures..http://family.webshots.com/album/558834546ytfPXx?start=0 all on 1 line of course.. enjoy
Sorry - I got sidetracked by phone call from daughter's family headed to GA - Going to spend the night in Durham,NC and drive to Ft Stewart tomorrow.
WANDA - Whenever anyone got to make the 100th comment - they got Wax prize. Then we even started giving it away at the 50th comment... It was fun trying to get the right #!
Mema Jo, I remember what I was commenting on earlier when Explorer had to close...your peaches comment.
Yes, I'm sure Cal has a lot of peaches and pears...agriculture might still be Cal's No. 1 industry. It has been forever. I don't know exactly where these orchards are, but I remember Kern County (Kern jams and nectars) was hard hit my the fruit fly invasions when Jerry Brown was Governor. And Kern County is in or near the Sierras in Central California.
A lot of our fruit go to supermarkets, even out of state and abroad.... Too long a story.
Anyway, I love peaches and pears, especially when ripened on your tree or your neighbor's. Don't get too many like that anymore.
I've had terrible luck with fruits like that bought at the supermarket...they're picked too soon and they ripen strangely. They'll be unripe one day and ripened and turning bad the next day. So I try to stay away from the softer fruit.
Anybody know a way to beat that downside of modern marketing??
I try to go to Farmer's Markets when the produce comes in. Lots of orchards in this area - so apples, peaches are plentiful. I agree with you about the food store fruit - not ripe just yet and then overnight it's too ripe.
Like the strawberries I bought the other day Jo, I was hoping on having a ew earlier but they got hairy ...ewww
The seneca rock cam is that really the stars? I camped out in spruce knob back in the mid 90's when they had those awful rains that washed out some of the roads leading up to it. Beautiful view from up there though.
I'll look around for a farmer's market in this area, Mema Jo. I know they have big ones in L.A. and San Diego.
I've had good luck with avocados and oranges from roadside stands when driving in the back country recently... Also, some strawberry stands are right next to the fields they're picking from, AND THEY ARE EXCELLENT! There are still a few such fields even in the developed areas around here, but they're getting forced out little by little.
How about ways of keeping fruit fresh after you buy it? Do you know any?
So far so good, Jo. Hope Tori is feeling better, Robyn. Got a good report from the Dr. yesterday, saw an x-ray and the bones are already starting to develop callouses which means they are healing well.
Remember the wooden apple crates and the lower crates for peaches and oranges?? And the empty crates could be used for many, many things....
I think they would package the fruit in a cup-shaped, paper wrapper, which kept the fruit from touching other fruits, absorbed various juices...and I think it probably prolonged the freshness of the fruit.
Great news, Megan. I hope the pain has subsided for her. Robyn - loved your comment that all Tori's staff at school are wonderful! I have a feeling you took the time to go into school and let them know how wonderful Tori is! Good Mommas!
Tori is doing better these days and we go to DC Tuesday to see her specialist, we are sure we will hear a good report. Glad your daughter is healing Meagan.
Jo, tori loves her new school and likes her teachers so far, I met with them today and I like them. Her math teacher looks like the twin of a dear friend of mine that Tori really likes so that is a bonus.
When I was a little guy, and we had not been in Cal too long, my parents would buy crates of fruit on sale, cut them up and cook them with some sugar in 2-gal buckets, and then can them to be eaten the rest of the year. Came out very good to delicious that way.
Gotta head to bed now, tired, went to Dr Monday and discovered I have a sinus infection and an ear infection AGAIN. This is getting old, doc says he is seeing more people this year for allergy issues than ever before. My head is pounding, going to lay down. Good nite all.
Hope you feel better Megan....GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE....PRAYERS FOR ALL WHO NEED THEM. Was another beautiful moonrise tonight. Wish I had a good camera and the talent to use it.
I'm heading to sleep too my sciatica is acting up again but I need to make sure it doesn't slow me down, last time I had to do accupunture and therapy for a few weeks. So far motrin and ice are relieving some of the pain, hopefully I will sleep as well as I did last night.
Well its going on 1am and i am watching a program called Blue Planet about the sea.. interesting... Mits get your self and Intel camera .. they are so easy to install just do what the cd instructions tells you BUT DONT HOOK UP THE CAMERA TO YOUR USB PORT til it says to!!! Jill did you see where the cat woman died Shirley Hannah.. Poor thing i remember seeing her setting on a bench down town across from Libary in November its was so cold and she had her cat trying to keep it warm... I went and got her some hot coffee and something to eat... I heard she had money once but a man stole it from her.. shame!!Well poor thing is better off now.:( Niters going to check on Petes Pond for Fatty....i am spending the day with Diana ...Oh how i am going to miss her!!!
Yes Nilla,I saw where Shirley had died. She had some severe mental issues due to the fact that all of her kids died young. She was doing okay until that guy stole her money, along with about 1/2 dozen others. Then she really lost it. Not violent just didn't get it. And Candy Sue stayed right with her.
The guy who stole her money did go to jail, lost his family and now has cancer so he paid a price for what he did. Just didn't help her any.
Good morning, eagle world. Beautiful night out, 67° at home, 76° here. Lots of deer, saw 16 this morning! Saw 4 together, then 3 together a mile down the road, and this was within maybe 15 minutes of leaving my house! Geesh. So counted, ended up with 16 deer. Had one white bird fly in front of my headlights, scared me, thought I was gonna hit it, but didn't. Don't know what it was...size was between a jay and a mourning dove, totally white, and quick enough not to get hit, thank you, God! Way too small to be an owl, and this was at 3:15, so not sure what other birds are out flying around at that hour. Finny was in the nest when I first logged on, but then he left, Bai is rolling Squiggles around in her paws, and looks like giving her kisses on the cheek. Bai is on her back, has Squiggles in her paws and is just kissing and cuddling her. Now I think they're both going to sleep, Bai's not rolling her anymore, just holding her by her chin. There is a falcon on the bar in PA. Oh, The Kid is back in Finland. Nothing else open at the moment. Oh, couldn't get in through NCTC, got a server error message from NCTC server, so they are down at the moment. May try to go back and see what I missed yesterday if I have time. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Bai has her hind legs up in the air leaning them against the wall of her den. She is holding Squiggles under her chin, on her chest with her right paw, and her left paw is totally slug out. Talk about a relaxed mom! And both sound asleep. too cute. Finny hanging out in the nest looking at the cam.
Just went to check my mail, and there is an article on Yahoo that says a chewed up Vick card sold for $7,400 online, and proceeds go to the Humane Society! How cool is that. Interesting article, if you get a chance to read it. Guess his stuff isn't worth much anymore... to anybody, it seems. Finny still hanging out looking around, and Bai and Squiggles haven't moved much, both sacked out.
Just opened Peggy's Cove cam, man is it foggy! What a cool pic. Finny still hanging out in the nest, all fluffy, must feel good, and Bai and Squiggles are still sound asleep.
Uh oh, Bai woke up and went out of the den, Squiggles is moving around a little bit, but hard to see i the dark. Finny standing in nest looking around. Just opened Nova Scotia cams, and it is EXTREMELY foggy there! Their cam 4 is wayyyyy cool, totally foggy, but a tree line in the front. Neat pic! But the harbors are really fogged in. Squiggles is awake looks like, and trying to scoot around with her little hind legs. So cute. She's on her tummy, looks like she's trying to get on her back...no, changed her mind, just gonna lay there and wait for mom to come back.
Mom's back. Picked up Squiggles before she even sat down, must be time to eat... Yup, getting Squiggles settled. OMG!! FINNY JUST TOOK OFF RIGHT IN THE DIRECTION OF THE CAM! Man, talk about a closeup! Those talons are amazing! Thought he was gonna hit the cam he was so close, but pic seems alright. Phew, be still my heart, what a shot.
Sent pics around. He didn't stay gone lone, he's back and grooming. Bai has slowly just toppled over, Squiggles still attached, but Bai's gonna go back to sleep. Too cute!
Finny still hanging out, Bai woke up and is now holding Squiggles and I think washing her. Guess nursing time is finished for this go-round, but since Bai is sitting up again, round 2 may start shortly! Was losing cam a couple times, got the logo, but then the pic came right back. Think Squiggles is actually nursing, and Bai is washing her. Cam is out of focus, and they're close to it, so it's hard to see clearly.
Quick session. Bai laying back down, has Squiggles between her paws. Peggy's Cove is much foggier than it was, can't even see the lighthouse now almost. Can barely see the light and outline of it. Sure hope no ships are around! Finny still grooming and looking around.
Something must be out there...Finny flew to the other side of the nest, squawking at something. Took off, now he's back already. Wonder if he's trying to chase dad down with lunch???
Finny still in nest, fish long gone. He's grooming and watching the world go by. Bai has fed Squiggles again, now both sleeping. Fog is lifting in Peggy's Cove, but only cause it's getting daylight. Nova Scotia still very foggy too.
People are visiting Peggy's Cove, but poor guys can't see a thing of that view. But at least we can actually see the lighthouse now. Finny still hanging out in nest, and Bai and Squiggles sleeping. Been on other computer, so haven't been watching cams too closely.
GOOD MORNING SUZ-- Lots of deer for you this morning. They are so beautiful aren't they? We had a Mom and her two babies visit us along our property line yesterday morning (starting to lose their spots now). So special to be drinking coffee and have the deer visit us. I always get a little nervous when they come to that area because it is where our garden is and they do love green beans. In all the years we have been gardening, they have never bothered the garden. We do have a fence, but know they can jump over it at any time they wish. BTW, if you go to my PROFILE and click on WANDA'S WISHES, you can see the Capt's garden.
I watched Bai and Squiggles last night around 10pm and she left the den for about a half hour. Squiggles really earned his name in that time! Squiggled all over the place. He would tire out and seem to nap for a while and then start all over again. Every now and then, he would raise his head and apparently yell for Mom. Those hind feet were going a mile a minute but just couldn't get going. When Mom came back, she picked him up and bathed him and fed him and they both went to sleep. Too cute!
Good Morning Suzanne your deer count was really high this early am! I am going to finish the Morning Commentary & emails - just wanted to let you know that I am up & about. Had a great night's sleep - straight thru! I know what did it - No Panda Nap yesterday.... :( But it paid off! BRB
BOBBI-- A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISH FOR YOU TODAY....ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!! I have a daughter Robyn's age, so I know about how old you are, 39, just like me.
We would love for you to blog with us so we would know what goes on in Florida with the Wildlife and the human Wildlife.LOL We have bloggers from the East,Midwest,West,North but none from the South. WE NEED YOU ON HERE. Have a Happy Day. Wanda
Mornig, Wanda:) nice gardens, don't you just love sunflowers? definitely one of my favorite summer flowers. Love your shade garden, I don't have a shady spot to garden, always love shade plants, many of them are so dramatic. HEllO JO:)
Hi Megan :) So you need a pumpkin person? Hope you find someone special for the job! Like someone with a good sense of direction after they get a group inside the corn maze! lol I just may need to do my outside fall decorations early this year - I love the colors of Fall!
Good Morning, Wanda and good morning, Jo! My, you're up early! Glad you had a good night's sleep! Wanda, that is exactly what happened this morning to Bai and Squiggles too. Squiggles was trying very hard to get mobile, working those little legs, but she didn't go anyplace. Won't be long, though. You're right, it was cute to watch! Yes, lots of deer this morning. I usually see about 8 or 9 or so, but this morning about 4 or 5 miles from the house I saw 4 together, then about a mile down the road were another 3, so I started counting. Yeah, fawns are losing their spots, but they're all beautiful to watch, I think. The first 4 I saw this morning had evidentally just crossed the road, and 1 still had his hind legs on the road/shoulder. I beep beep beeped them, they all jumped up and took off...for about 3 steps! At least they got totally off the road. I'm always careful, but some folks drive really fast, and I'm afraid the deer are gonna get hit. I'm off to check Wanda's garden...
Lot's of folks at Peggy's Cove, but it's so foggy you can still barely see the lighthouse! Finny left a few minutes ago, and Bai and Squiggles are snoozing. Lots of fish this morning, but nobody's on the beach yet, and Nova Scotia is also still very foggy.
Ok, have they moved that cam closer yet again? You can count the feathers on his head!!! Sure hope he doesn't lift that tail and do a poop shoot on my keyboard!
Yes, they have moved the cam closer. I have a pic of Finny I took yesterday that I'm using as my wallpaper, and comparing the nest and the text to the fin cam, it's a lot closer today. Wow, he is just beautiful!
SUZ-- You are right, they have moved that cam closer. Oh, how I wish that is a possibility with our new cam. Can you imagine seeing Belle & Lib that close; and with sound? I am so looking forward to the new cam and season. When do we start looking for the pair to begin their nesting period?
GOOD MORNIN' EAGLE BUDDIES!!!!---I have been scanning the BLOGS!!---Can't catch up now!---HELLO TO EVERYONE!!---Missed being on yesterday!!!---It's a very FOGGY day this a.m. in WV---temp. 67°---I can live with that---UNGODLY HOT YESTERDAY!!!---Must check to see if the "LITTLE PRINCE" is still in the tree!!!----Got a look at my BOY FINNY!!!---Looked directly at me!!!---ho!---W/miss him!!!
Was just watching Finny, and Dad brought a fish, and Finny flew up to meet him...they met on cam, dad almost at the nest. Then Finny took to some serious mantling. I'll send pics, awesome!

Thanks for the update Steve!
Wow Jo, you are #1 and #2!
MEGAN--
What is the meeting about: JO, the Entler Hotel is on the main street of Shepherdstown.
Thanks for the update and new thread, Steven. Thanks for the heads up, Jo, and good morning to ya! Morning, Paula.
All have a great day today!
GOOD MORNING PAULA--
We were talking a few evenings ago about coming to Emmitsburg for dinner at Dave & Janes. We tried to pull up a menu, but couldn't find one. Do they have Crab Legs?
I am not crazy about Blue Crabs.
Plenty of crab legs and regular crabs too at Dave & Jane's....
Wanda, you can have the crab legs....I'll take a Maryland blue anytime...nothing sweeter in my opinion...we all have our favorites!
Wanda, you asked a question on previous blog, not sure you got an answer... Bonaire is in the Netherlands, and Frieda is in Brisbane, Australia. Peggy's Cove is in Nova Scotia. We're just a bunch of armchair world travelers here on this blog!
Thanks SUZ--got it straight now. We are becoming world travelers, aren't we?
Wanda - Bonaire is the Netherlands Antilles Carribbean Island, just north of Venezula.
PAULA--
I use to love Blue crabs.
Anne - Hoping your brother will be OK...sending positive thoughts your way and his way!
Wow, good morning, Heidigirl! You must be up with the chickens! Sorry you have such bad news, I hope your brother gets well quickly!
ANNE-MARIE--
Being a nurse, you know how much they can do now for heart patients. Hope it wasn't a massive attack.
Prayers for you and your brother.
Megan and Suzanne, thanks for the updates on the Momster site. Megan I think your Mayor and Council are related to the nutcases down here at the ocean.
BTW, Steven, thanks for the good news, I'm anxious to start seeing Belle and Lib prepare for the new season. Off to look for dolphin.
Sorry to hear about your brother, Anne. Hope he feels better soon.
thank you all for your love and support. Its time to leave now and hit the freeway. Have a beautiful eagle day and love to you all.....
MITS-
Thanks for heads up on the map of Bonaire. Aruba is where I would like to take a cruise. Maybe on our 50th anniversery.
Something is giving Finny fits!
Anne, if you didn't enter, you can't win! Delete delete delete, don't even open it.
Delete it Anne - don't even bother to open. I also got the UK lotto winner in my junk email!
ANNE-MARIE
I got 2 of them on Monday. Disregarded it.
MITS--
The Capt. and I thought the card with the eagle at the end was AWESOME.
Have to make a costume order and get some work done. BBL
Mits, I wondered the same thing, but that one guy who has property and sued comes to mind. But I got that email from a good source, so I signed to keep at least the protections that we currently have in place!
Did not send the email to Steve Chase, but I can.
Ok, sent the original email to Steven.

JO The otters are out on their cam
Thanks! I had been checking them
Say the sleuth bear earlier prancing outside
Looks as though those 2 are hiding from the rest
WOW! What a zoom!
That's 25 yr old Merlin, he likes to walk back and forth, bugs the hell out of visitors.
Use Suz's email to comment...found it on the www, but too hard to explain and link to where to comment....
Mits - DC cams - Which panda is which?
LunLun and ButaButa getting rowdy!
I guess that Norma has study group and lunch today..
The email I sent around to Momsters has a link to comment. Defenders of Wildlife have written the letter, all you have to do is fill in the left side of the screen with your info. You may also add any comments you wish to either the subject line or the body of the letter. The new act is RIN 1018-AV11.
Thanks, Suzanne. your Email form is the easiest to use......
Mei on #1 and Tai on #2
Yang Yang was on the video from the Hammock room. LunLun and ButaButa are int he tripod day room.
Yang Yang was having a blast!
Look at Squiggles and Bai... Too cute.
Ahhh. Squiggles was laying on her back, and Bai was watching her. Bai reached over and I guess just touched her for a sec. Now Bai just left the den! Squiggles still laying on her back, but it's so dark, very hard to see. I thought for a sec Bai was gonna take Squiggles with her. CAM ZOOMED!
SQuiggles is on her back, and can't get on her tummy!!! Is she gonna make it? She's sure trying to turn over.
Oh my gosh, she's really trying.
Cam zoomed closer, so we can see if she turns over.
Uh oh, there went themouth wide open. She's getting frustrated! Still trying, though, bless her heart. oh, mouth open again. Using head to push along with paws now...squirming all around, but can't get on that tummy...mouth again, I'll bet she's squawking!
She's not giving up! Rollling from side to side now, with enough momentum, she'll turn herself over. Then she'll be crawling...then look out world!
CLOSER STILL! But now we're out of focus...
Well, good shot of the butt, I guess. Maybe they're trying to see if she's a girl or a boy. Geesh, out there for all the world to see, poor kid!
Still kicking and rolling from side to side.
I think with the zoom shot they were trying to determine the sex:)
Squiggles is surly kicking those legs and throwing those paws around!
I would love to hear all the noise that is being made! lol
BOOYAH, SHE/HE DID IT!!!!!!
SHOO HOO Turned over!
OMG, SHE MADE IT!!! Squiggles is on her tummy! Phew, bet that wore her out. How cute was that!
Think she's gonna catch her breath now...
No sleep but overtime is good
Don't know why SD and Atlanta don't have sound, that is part of the fun, to hear all the noise.
HOW COOL WAS THAT!!!!
Look at her, she's too tired to move much now!
I meant WHoo HOo! Got exciting there for a few minutes.
That little butt is up in the air!
LOL, Mits, I'll bet she was getting loud there before she finally made it!
Sheer Exhaustion after that
She sure isn't moving so much, is she? Bet she's really tired! That was just priceless to see! Won't Bei be surprised when she comes back in and see's her little baby on her tummy!!
I remember when my sister and I would wacth Tai Shan's every move and be routing for him to turn over or take a first step, and listen to him crying, it was a fun time.
Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle/panda day. Take a breath for Squiggles, taking a BIG nap now!
eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Bai is back, have a good afternoon, Suzanne
WOW--That left me breathless!
Too Cute...
I love it when we're granted the honor of watching these milestones!
As you all know - I did NOT win the Mega Millions lottery last night! :(
Now I'll go for Friday evening and then I could get $325 M
Hey Wanda - that's a lot of crab legs!
Looks as though ButaButa is now over in the hammock room where YangYang had been. She sure is smelling all around! Only 7 more days to 1st b-day...
Finny is sitting in the nest -
Puleston nest MT
One chick in CT nest
Almost time for a panda nap
Tomorrow I will have 3 great grandkids with their mom & my daughter here for lunch! Can't wait but need to rest up for it!
But for now - I must watch the 'fight-play' of Lun Lun & Buta Buta!
325 million, why that's just the amount I was looking for:>)
GOOD MORNING TO ALL IN EAGLE LAND...
What's with Suzanne on here after her normal hour of departure??
Is the blog reporting the time wrongly, or is Suzanne working later?
I just noticed (only one swig of coffee) that today's blog is on another time zone again.
How is everybody in the Real World on Real Time today??
Jim
Hey Jo, if you could spare a couple hundred thousand, I have a good use for it. LOL Enjoy the kids. (like we have to tell you that. LOL)
Jim, you better take another swig of that coffee. My blog clock is right on.
You people should try blogging in your sleep some morning....
It's like a totally UNREAL WORLD...kinda light-weight and giddy and uninspired.
Well, I'm over it now! Hahahahahahahahahaha..........
[Got to get to bed earlier too...]
Jim
Jill - wouldn't that be the ultra skateboard park ever! Wouldn't even need to charge an admission!
I could do such GOOOOOOOOD with
mad money!
My clock is on time, Jim. Suzanne was watching Squiggles roll over all by him/herself before she left - but she was on time leaving I think. Norma, who isn't on yet, always pins Suzanne down as to when she leaves.
Thanks, Jill, Mema Jo...
The time looks right to me now too...musta been looking at it upside down before.... not easy from where I'm sitting.
Jim
The sun is barely hitting my west-facing patio this morning, and the temperature is already close to 80°! On with the A/C for sure.
It's supposed to top out at 88°, but I bet it beats that. Humidity is fairly high too.
Fluids, fluids, fluids!! How are you people doing back there?
Jim
The weather, since all that rain, has really been sunny and breezy - of course, who am I to judge since I am recuperating inside with the AC?
I do venture out on the deck quite often to sit and catch some of the sun's rays! They have healing power!
Jim, do you have peach groves in CA?
The peaches here this year have been delicious!
Jim, 8 glasses of WATER for you today...my time is fine:):):).
Hahaha. Explorer decided to encounter an error again just as I was about to publish a comment.
Hope you all have a great day...got to take care of business around here. Talk later.
Jim
No beach yet, Mits! I think I need to sit on the deck for a few & then I must get serious about my panda nap! lol
Daughter Susan and family headed down to visit Ryan at Ft Stewart over this Labor Day holiday. He may get leave first part of Oct to come up this way before deployment....... I sure hope so!
I'll be back around the dinner hour..
Yes Jo that would be the ultimate skateboard park.
Jim, quit standing on your head. LOL
HI JILL--
I think the heat is getting to JIM.
Yup, if Jo wins the 325million, I think she would buy you and the kids that Skate Park and me a Crab House. LOL
Good Afternoon Ya'll Ok let me start by saying Paula is right they have the best crab legs at Dave & Janes last time thats all i ate and dribbled butter all over me thank God i have a some what large chest and it all stopped there..lol Kinda cloudy and humid out today but suppose to be nice this weekend... Hey Jill Oh i am not driving the truck my son is, I will follow in the car.. I have a girlfriend who lives up in Queens and spent a week up there few years back and she bought me a cheese cake for my birthday...Yummy but very rich!!!
NILLA--
Have a safe trip and don't forget your camera. Take lots of photos.
Speaking of photos--we need an updated photo of Nevah.
Be thinking of a Crab Leg dinner somewhere. Do you like them as much as I do?
SORRY NILLA--
Misspelled that sweet little Granddaughter's name. (Neveah)
Actually, I am having another Brain Freeze--Jasmine Neveah--right?
I think I need some supper. Can't spell, can't type, and can't think. BBL when my brain thaws out.
Jr's cheesecke in NY is the best :) or any diner in NYC!
Hi all Tori had a great day today and the staff at her school are just wonderul. She sends hugs back to all :)
Yes Wanda Jasmin Nevaeh and i know i need to get her pictures taken... I had her last saturday and Sunday watching her for her mom while she was working.. Took her to the baby shower and i think i saw her 5 minutes total everyone else had her..lol It is my adopted grandaughter Diana who dad n mom are moving to NY as he got a job offer.... Will miss them terribly!!! Wanda give me crab legs and some drippin butter and a bibby and i am in heaven!!!!
Oh all this talk of cheesecake and crablegs is making me hungry... Hello NILLA!! If anyone knows someone who wants to work at a farm helping with elementary school field trips, let me know. The farm is between Harper's Ferry and Shepherdstown.. I need RELIABLE people and am still looking for help. It's from 9 am til about 1:30 mon. thru Fri. some days shorter days, depends on how many schools booked each day.
Wish I lived closer, Megan....I vote for the ole Maryland Blue Crab, with lots of Old Bay Seasoning! Yummy!
Megan just sent you an e-mail... The more Old Bay the better Mits!!!
I know some of you have been to Hagerstown and out at Longmeadow Shopping Center to the Pennslyvania Dutch Market... If not you should go so much to see and homemade food..
Megan, I would love to help but I can't work every day. Just the days I am off if that helps you any.
Okay that's it. When Nilla gets back from NY we are all going to Emmittsburg for dinner, I can't take it any more.
HAHAHAHAHAHAaaaaaaaaaa Jill well down at the Dutch Market all kinds of homemade candies... cakes... pies... breads... salads...lunchmeats.. it fatting to walk in the door..lol
OK NILLA--I had some supper and I now have precious's name right.
JASMIN NEVAEH--see what a little supper does for you (me).
I know you are going to miss Diana, She has been around long enough to have wrapped herself around your heart. You will probably wear out a couple sets of tires in the next 6 months going to visit her.
I love Blueberry Cheesecake.
Keep it up Nilla, Wanda and I will go without you and eat all the crab meat in the place. LOL
Is the Dutch Market open everyday but Sunday or just certain days? I have heard a lot about it but keep forgetting to go.
GEEZ, Wanda ate dinner, no crab legs in Martinsburg tonight. LOL
Didn't have crab legs for a change, had Taco Salad. YUUMMMMY Lots of fresh tomatoes from the garden piled on top. No dessert.
Hi Nilla! I had mentioned one day, hoping you would see, the name that Tiger Woods gave his little girl!
It was Sam Alexis Woods!
Ironically my 2 great grandgals are
Sam and Alexis! I won't forget Tiger's little gal's name soon.
Wanda Could the resturant you ate at near Thurmont be called
"The South Mountain Inn"??? We use to go there and they had crab legs.
Dana - I really think it was the Blue Mountain Inn that Wanda mentioned.
South Mountain Inn is right up here on 40A at the entrance we went in to the Washinton Monument Park for our picnic.
HOW ARE YOU DOING? I was laughing today thinking about getting you some wax for that hairy knee! lol
DANA--
No, it was the Blue Mountain Inn. I asked Gene to be sure and he said that is what it was called. It may not be there anymore. South Mountain is on old Rt. 40. We use to go there also. Really good food.
I really need some Cheesecake after all this talk about NY! Cheesecake is something you can eat for dessert no matter how large of a meal you've had!
JO--
That WAX letter was hysterical.
Well i aint tootin my own horn but i make apretty mean and tasty cheese cake myself!!!!
So i could not have crabs i had to settle for a fish sandwich from Mickey Ds'..loll
IF you look quick, the sun is setting at Seneca and the "stars"are starting to appear.
NILLA-I don't think a McD's fish sandwich is a good trade.
I like the place on Winchester Ave. Never had their crabs tho. Crabcake sandwich is good.
ok ok I got it The Blue Mt. Inn
wrong side of mountain lol
Jo I am thinking about later getting just that one area of my knee "waxed".
You can see Squiggles really good by Bai's paw.
Jim
Sorry about the typos in the last comment...clicked on "publish" too soon.
Jim
I try to go to Farmer's Markets when the produce comes in. Lots of orchards in this area - so apples, peaches are plentiful. I agree with you about the food store fruit - not ripe just yet and then overnight it's too ripe.
Oh, yes, support your local farmers!!
Hi Megan & Robyn! Hope your girls are still enjoying their week of school!
Jim
Robyn not stars, but, as Jo says Dust Bunnies.
Absolutely support your locals. Going to Farmers Market tomorrow or Friday up the highway.
Jim
Great news, Megan. I hope the pain has subsided for her.
Robyn - loved your comment that all Tori's staff at school are wonderful!
I have a feeling you took the time to go into school and let them know how wonderful Tori is! Good Mommas!
I am hoping that Anne's brother is doing ok. Was thinking that she is on the blog by now.
Jim
Gotta head to bed now, tired, went to Dr Monday and discovered I have a sinus infection and an ear infection AGAIN. This is getting old, doc says he is seeing more people this year for allergy issues than ever before. My head is pounding, going to lay down. Good nite all.
Hope you feel better Megan....GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE....PRAYERS FOR ALL WHO NEED THEM. Was another beautiful moonrise tonight. Wish I had a good camera and the talent to use it.
So glad Tori and Megan's daughter are doing so well in school. That is a big help for Mom's nerves.
Guess what time it is JO?
You have a big day tomorrow.
Enjoy, Enjoy! Aren't families wonderful?
GOOD NIGHT TO YOU ALL AND SWEET DREAMS. (Prayers for Anne-Marie & her brother and Sharon)
Here I go! I really planned to be out of here before you said good night!
Good Night Everyone
Peace to You and Yours
Prayers for all being said
Good Morning all you early birds
I'm heading to sleep too my sciatica is acting up again but I need to make sure it doesn't slow me down, last time I had to do accupunture and therapy for a few weeks. So far motrin and ice are relieving some of the pain, hopefully I will sleep as well as I did last night.
Sweet dreams all
Happy B'day mom, love you
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYONE/GOOD MORNING, SUZANNE AND THE EARLY MORNING LADIES....
REST EASY, GOD BLESS YOU,
JIM
Oops, Squiggles has slid off mom's chest, and is laying right above her outstretched left arm.
Too cute!
Ok, have something to say to one of our bestest lurkers out there in sunny Florida..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BOBBI
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Hope you have a great day, and many happy returns.
When ya gonna come in and talk to us, SILVERWOLF????
Uh oh, Cindi, you need to clean out your mailbox when you get back! Mailbox is still full, and won't accept any new mail...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOBBI! Come on in and say hello!
oops, good morning, Suzanne:)
Uh oh, sorry, Good morning, Megan! You came in so quietly, didn't hear ya.
Quick session. Bai laying back down, has Squiggles between her paws.
Peggy's Cove is much foggier than it was, can't even see the lighthouse now almost. Can barely see the light and outline of it. Sure hope no ships are around!
Finny still grooming and looking around.
Sun is rising on the beach, Megan! Beautiful.
Halifax is also a lot foggier than it was...if that is actually possible!
Good grief, Finny just turned around and squaked at the cam big time, then took off. Hum, wonder if someone sneezed or something, and he heard it...
Never mind, he's back. That was certainly a quick fly-by.
Something must be out there...Finny flew to the other side of the nest, squawking at something. Took off, now he's back already. Wonder if he's trying to chase dad down with lunch???
Can't even see the rocks on Peggy's Cove anymore. It is as foggy as I've ever seen. Sure glad I don't have to drive in that!
BRB...
Finny has a fish, and he's defending it against something!
He's holding this fish between both feet, and mantling, squawking, and flapping wings at something.
Whatever it was is gone, he's getting down to eating now.
Bai ans Squiggles haven't moved, both sound asleep.
GOOD MORNING SUZ--
Lots of deer for you this morning.
BRB

Bad Boy! Love Him!
Oh wow, Wanda, your pics are beautiful! They are some huge sunflowers! (I waived to the Capt, but he didn't see me...)
Our boy is back. He's been in and out all morning, but mostly in. He hasn't been gone for more than a few minutes all morning.
SUZ--
You are right, they have moved that cam closer. Oh, how I wish that is a possibility with our new cam. Can you imagine seeing Belle & Lib that close; and with sound?
I am so looking forward to the new cam and season. When do we start looking for the pair to begin their nesting period?
Finny's squawking at something!
