Morning everyone! Beautiful wet morning here. Rained on and off all night, just under 3/4 of an inch, but we'll take any rain we can get.
Happy Birthday Robyn!!!!

I just peeked out my bedroom door after watching tv news for awhile to find that our visitor had to go to work this morning until noon. So....... :) I beat my husband to the computer.

Back after I check my emails.

normabyrd said...

HI MEGAN---SEE what happens when you "DANCE"---Worried about you Fri. & Sat. being out in that heat--How is your DAUGHTER!---Has the pain lessened!!---Truly hope she is beginning to feel much better---My LOVE to her!!---"Rain drops keep fallin' on my head.......

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' CANDY---You are a "sneaky one"---ho!---ENJOY THIS A.M.! ho!

floralgirl said...

Well, Norma, I don't think I can take credit, I ran out of energy to dance around Weds.,the heat was unbearable last week. The pain in her hand is not constant when it is still, but we are trying to move the fingers now, many times a day, and that cause considerablre pain. Gotta get them mmoving to reduce the swelling and restore mobility. It's slow and painful. Just trying to keep her optomistic.

Suzanne said...

Thanks for the new thread, Steven. Hope you got some rain this weekend! I got a lot Friday and again yesterday. Finally.
Thanks for the heads up, Sunny!

Bai left her cub again for a few seconds, and it's very active. Squirmed around in a circle again, and probably bleeting like mad. She was gone for less than 15 seconds, then came back and nursed. She is so funny, her head starts dropping while she's nursing, then she just kinda lays on down to go to sleep. I didn't realize she is 16 years old. Bless her heart!
Morning, everyone, Sunny, Paula, Norma, Megan and Candy. Megan did you get rain this weekend? I got a bunch, but lots of wind Friday with the rain. Took my plants I had on planters and dumped all of them Friday afternoon! Broke some lillies I had completely off to about 3" in the pot! I was so mad! Had 2 that matched, and now one is a foot taller than the other one. Bummer. But at least it rained.

Suzanne said...

Bai just turned over, and she's holding the cub between her paws, up by her head.

Suzanne said...

I just noticed on the other blog that Mits was up at 3:25 this morning to go to the boat thingy! Geesh, that's dedication! Mits, did you come home and go back to bed?

paula eagleholic said...

Candy - I have this vision of you and your hubby racing towards the computer chair...whoever gets there first wins, eh?

Suzanne said...

Finney in nest with his own fresly caught fish!!!

floralgirl said...

Got rain last night and this morning, Suzanne. Ended up with just under 3/4". Sorry you got such damaging storms. Always frustrating to keep things pretty and then one storm wipes them out. Hope no one was injured this am racing to the computer chair, Candy.

Suzanne said...

Yes, it is frustrating, Megan, but hopefully, they'll grow back next year. At least we finally got some rain. 3/4" is not bad when it comes nice and gentle, like it did yesterday.
I can see Candy and hubby running towards that chair now! And the winner is...........Candy! Way to go, girl!

Suzanne said...

Bai Yun waking up! Must be time to nurse the baby.

Suzanne said...

OH there she goes, down for the count. That poor girl is just beat!

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING MEGAN--
We also got about 3/4" rain. It is not a lot, but at least we won't have to water our garden for a few days.

Hi NORMA---where did you go?

Wonder where JILL is? haven't heard from her for a few days or maybe I missed her when she was on.

carolinabeachmom said...

WELCOME MEGAN. Glad to hear you got some rain.

Hey, you all, keep laughing. My poor husband doesn't stand a chance and never has. He is such a slow mover, the turtle and I am the hare. :) He drinks gallons of coffee all day and that doesn't even make him go faster. I drink all decaf whatever or I'd be jumping all over the place. In this house the hare always WINS!!! :)

MITS said...

Yep, Suz took a little cat-nap, coffee wasn't kepping the eyes open. Went to bed around 11 and set alarm and got up at 3, was done the inlet at 3:45...getting ready to go out to lunch and then back home for a nap and pack and go back to Bethesda tomorrow.

Costume Lady said...

CANDY--
Maybe we need to give your hubby an Eagle Talon!

Suzanne said...

Wow, Mits, you've been busy and gonna keep busy for a while today! I didn't notice the time when I first logged on this morning, I had one thing on my mind, and that was the new cub. In fact, I opened that cam before I opened the blog! I've never done that before...

Are you doing the zoo this week? I know you said only twice in August, think this week and the last week, or the 22nd, can't remember.

Nrsing time again.

Suzanne said...

Oops, that's nursing time again. Skipped a letter! She's sitting up, wonder how long it will be before she falls over and goes to sleep again.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' WANDA!!!----My computer has been down since Fri. eve---Was back on a couple of times---then would stop---Believe it was cable hook up-----FOUND 1 NEST----FIN CHICK was in nest for about 15 sec.---then flew away---Hard to think we were applauding that not long ago!!---The "LITTLE PRINCE" was in his "JIM MODE"---MOVIN'------But cam can't keep up!!---Even the CT OSPREYS had MT NEST!!

carolinabeachmom said...

Limu is still on SC nest calling out for breakfast. I don't think anyone hears him. He had better get it himself.

Suzanne said...

Norma, that Fin chick only comes to the nest now to eat. So far today, I've only seen him twice, but think he caught his meal both times. Second time he arrived with fish and didn't see a parent at all, so I know he caught that one! Our babies grow so fast!!!
Mom is still kinda sitting up, but her head is down and I think she fell asleep, but forgot to just roll over and lay down.

carolinabeachmom said...

I was just looking around and read where the Texas owls may be getting ready for new babies. It showed a video of both mating. Soooo maybe we can watch that too.

carolinabeachmom said...

WANDA James needs an eagle talon in his bottom! :)

carolinabeachmom said...

SUZANNE You must be really focused on the Panda cam. I haven't heard you scuba diving yet. I get a kick out of Norma telling people you are off scuba diving. :)

MITS said...

Yes, Suzanne, doing zoo Wednesday and Friday afternoon this week, then won't be back there to the second week of Sept....

normabyrd said...

SUZANNE---I think that BAI will continue licking her CUB constantly--Stimulates the bowel movements, etc. & she also cleans the cub by licking him afterwards--I'm most certain JO told me that when TAI was born!!!---That's why it appears she has her head down on the CUB so much!!---When BUTA BUTA was born, she was in a larger area---& you could see the interaction between the MOTHER & CUB---Do you think they will move this cub to a larger place!!!----I watch the ATLANTA CUB & TAI everyday since birth----But I haven't watched this ZOO very much!!---MITS WILL KNOW!!

Suzanne said...

LOL, Candy, I have the cam up, but have only glanced at it for a sec or two at a time. Not doing much scuba diving this morning, I'm in San Diego, no Netherlands today.
I've also only got the 2 Finland cams up, and that's it for today.

Man, those EagleTalons Capt Eagle came up with are certainly turning out to be popular.

Mom fell asleep sitting up nursing this time. She's gonna have a sore neck!

Suzanne said...

Oh, ok Mits, long break. Man, Tai will have grown even more by the time you go back to the zoo after Friday!
Yes, Norma, saw her licking the cub this morning. But I also think she's falling asleep nursing. This is also normal for the first few days, then she'll get her strength and won't be quite so tired. They said she was in labor for 2 1/2 hours I think, but from watching her all day Friday, I think it was more than that. She just couldn't get comfy, and even tried standing on her head once. She'll get stronger in the next few days. Don't know if they will move her, I kinda doubt it because they said she was in an enclosre that was not on display at the moment. I just hope they keep this cam on for a long time. They have cams on all the pandas, and I like to watch them all, but right now, I want to watch Bai Yun and baby, so I hope they don't switch to other pandas in the zoo! I started watching this cam several months ago, cause I can't get DC or Atlanta, but can get this one.

carolinabeachmom said...

Our visitor just arrived, so I have to go for now. Will check in sometime after four pm. All have a wonderful day and Suzanne, you have a safe trip home today. BBL

Suzanne said...

Thanks, Candy, talk to you later. Have a good afternoon!

Suzanne said...

Time for me to hit the road. All have a great eagle day. Mom is sleeping sitting up, but has head down on straw...she's gonna kill her back! Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Anne-Marie said...

Oh well, I will just have to wait. I watched the birth and still didnt know what was happening. I guess I'm just out of pratice. I worked all weekend getting things in order for my cruise and my grand son turned "free" (3) so we had a party at the park. It was a nice family day. I have 4 pages of accounts that need attention today and so I will be in and out. When I feel like I cant stand another line of numbers I pull up the blog and see what real people are doing. I'll be back.

I got it Suzanne. Oh what a sweetie. So tiny and mom is so big. But if I think of it I have seen 400lb women give birth to 5lb babe and a 5' woman give birth to over 10lb. All 4 of mine were over 10lb and I'm a shorty.

New sight in the Netherlands . A pair of Church Owls are nesting . Several eggs. New babe will be here soon.

floralgirl said...

Thanks, Dana. Sorry to hear about the plovers, one of my favorite shore birds, been going to OC, NJ since I was a little kid, way at the quiet end of the island(the best part)there is the nesting area up in the dune area for the plovers. Love to watch them run in and out of the ocean catching little fishes.

wvgal_dana said...

Especially in NJ Megan they are having the meeting of the minds. Cause the bird watching brings in alot of money for the area.

Robyn said...

I remember them too Meagan, the ater would come ashore and they would run very fast. We use to spend summer going to the Jersey Shore as kids.

Thank you Dana

carolinabeachmom said...

Good Evening all you lurkers and resters. I see they have the SD panda cam off the new little one. :(

I read most of the day today; too hot to go outside. I don't know what we all did before there was air conditioning.

carolinabeachmom said...

ANNE I tried to get your church owls and they won't come up. I can't even get it to highlight, so I typed it in and still nothing.

MITS said...

Hi Annemarie, my day has been long, did you get thru all your stacks of numbers? Candy I know when I was growing up in Baltimore City, we would sit out on the front steps, til we got so tired, we just fell into bed exhausted. I worry more about the electricity going off in the summer than I do the winter.

carolinabeachmom said...

SD Panda cam back on Mama. She just left and I finally got to see the cub moving around a little. She wasn't gone for very long.

carolinabeachmom said...

MITS, When it was beastly hot in the summer when I was young, my Dad would tell us to get in the car and we would "Ride around the Horn Rd." to cool off. Then when we came back home, we would have a huge fan to suck the cool air from the outside; that is if it got cool. I grew up in New York state where Pa., NY, and NJ meet.

Robyn said...

Candy would that be near Port Jervis? I tried the link too but it wouldn't work for me so I just tried this...

http://www.vogelwachtuden.nl/

Robyn said...

after you go to that link on the left hand side just click on Webcam Kerkuil

carolinabeachmom said...

Robyn How do you know Port Jervis? That was where I was born and raised, and lived until I got married and built a house in Sparrowbush, NY; a small village north of Port. We lived in Sherwood Forest there.

carolinabeachmom said...

Thanks Robyn, I got the site. Port Jervis was a canal town and then a railroad town back in the days. My grandfather, uncle and father all worked on the railroad. We used to have quite a rail yard with roundhouse, etc. Got passes to go to NYC and shop all the time. I am soooo old, I remember the steam engines. ;)

carolinabeachmom said...

ROBYN The Jersey Shore was where I spent my summers as a kid; Seaside Heights and Seaside Park, across from Toms River, NY. That was where we would cross to get to the beaches. Were you the one that once lived in NY?

Robyn said...

Candy I grew up in Staten Island NY 30 years. I use to go hunting in Port Jervis, stayed at the painted apron hotel when we would go.

We use to go to Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant even Asbury when it was nice. One year mom and dad rented a house 3 houses from the beach entrance. This past christmas my brother the kids and I were lookin at the slides when we were there, I was 10 he was 13. Good times...

MITS said...

WOW!!!! You two were practically neigbors:):):).

carolinabeachmom said...

ROBYN Those were the days. The Painted Apron Motel was on Rt,6; don't know if they even exist anymore. I went to Port this summer for a few days, so my husband could attend a wedding of his family and I stayed at my sister's house and we did things together. We hadn't seen eachother for over 20 years. That is how long it had been since I had been back. Alot has changed and most of the shopping is towards Milford Pa. side of the Delaware River now.
If you look at the Netherland owl cam, the mom was just off and it looked like a chick spread out. My luck it was probably something she was eating, but it looked like a chick sprawled out.

carolinabeachmom said...

ROBYN
It was on the bottom left on cam 2

carolinabeachmom said...

ROBYN Wasns't Point Pleasant as far as you could go when you went to Seaside Heights and Park. It was like a wildlife preserve, I think. Do you remember Stashes bakery, spelling might be wrong, but they had gooooood stuff there.

carolinabeachmom said...

MITS How is it going? Kind of slow on here tonight. Most of the nests were mt when I checked them or dark. Then Robyn told me how to get on this Netherland owl cam that has eggs.

carolinabeachmom said...

MITS Did you watch the boats come back in with their catch today? We were supposed to go to a Dare Devil baseball game here, but it was toooooo hot for me. Maybe next summer.

paula eagleholic said...

Howdy all. Sounds like lots of reminiscing going on....when we didn't have air conditioning at the beach, we used to sit in front of the fan....my Dad finally put an a/c in, then it only worked for a couple of years, he pulled it back out...back to the fan!

Wanda & Robyn - small world, isn't it!

carolinabeachmom said...

HI PAULA That must have been a shock to have the a/c taken out and back to the fan. It does circulate the air, but when it is hot air, it is hot.

paula eagleholic said...

Candy - I never missed it. I don't think I was there when it was actually working! - one of those periods in my life where I didn't see my parents very much...so no big deal to me, and apparently not to my Dad either!

MITS said...

I tought I saw a baby Owl also, Jo is going to love that sight...Didn't go down to the weigh-ins, but did watch them via their website...so far the 1st place white marlin is 71 lbs, there are 4 more days of fishing......GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE, HEADING BACK TO HOT BETHESDA TOMORROW We are even under a heat advisory here the next 2 days.

carolinabeachmom said...

PAULA We never had it until we build down here 25 uears ago and then they told us we really didn't need it, but we could put a huge fan in the living room wall that that should take care of our small beach box. That was all that was being build at the time. They were full of hooey. Once I get my floors redone, the last thing that will go in will be central air if I live long enough!:) Now if you sit in the living room couch. upi freeze to death.

carolinabeachmom said...

MITS Yes it looks like a baby owl or owls now that there is more visible.

carolinabeachmom said...

MITS Have a safe trip back to Bethesda. Sorry you can't stay longer at the beach, but you at least can go down there anytime you want and can. It will always be there for you.

carolinabeachmom said...

Well Mits, I guess I am right behind you. It is getting late.GOOD NIGHT TO MITS, ROBYN, PAULA AND JO IS SHE IS OUT THERE READING. Sure hope her days and health are getting better and better. All have a good night's sleep; tomorrow is a new day!

Costume Lady said...

GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY--
Robyn, I hope you had a good time with your family on this special birthday.

JO--
If you are up, it's bedtime!
Sleep well.

Robyn said...

Candy Point Pleasant was north of seaside I believe in brick township. I don't remember the bakery but mom and I were taking about the seafood restaurant we use to go to when we were down there on the water or close by. I may be wrong but it was the fishermans Wharf a huge house with an even bigger fish tank inside.

Miss going to the Shore being landlocked in WV...

Night and thanks to all for the wonderful birthday wishes, talk about feeling loved :)

Robyn said...

About the owl cam in the neatherlands it looks like there are 3 babies in there anyone else see that?

Robyn said...

maybe it is just whitish stuff she moved around when I was watching tv with mom

Robyn said...

Nope it says 3 are born....

paula eagleholic said...

Just happened to turn on the news...the last thing they had on was video of The new butaball at SD - must have been the same time Suz took those pictures. They had sound and it was crying out for Mama - it was so cute!

Good night all and
Good Morning Suzanne!

movin said...

Evening everyone....

Hope Mema Jo is recovering yet ... haven't heard anything today, but I believe she probably is.

Norma--I did finally hook up to the S.D. panda cam, read some of the history, but the mama was sleeping in the dark and I didn't see a lot...later I guess.

Paula--I'm getting used to not going to work pretty quickly (maybe my subconscious thinks it's vacation), but I'm really only semi-retired as yet...they said I could collect Unemployment. Still have a bunch of applying and waiting on telephones, etc., to get all the retirement and Medicare and, and, and, rolling.

Wish the Stock Market hadn't picked now to take a dive ... doesn't make my 401K calm of nerve.

It'll probably turn out well. It's just unknown territory for me.

GOOD NIGHT, EVERYONE. HAVE A GREAT TOMORROW....

JIM

Suzanne said...

Morning, eagle world. Boss just came back, he's been out sick, so be back when I can.

Suzanne said...

That was somebody else who came in. Bai is sound asleep holding her cub in her arms, I think. Sure glad they still have the cam on her. OH, she's washing the baby! Looks like she's chewing his hind legs, but I know she isn't...no, there's the tongue. She is so cute. Oh, sitting up, feeding time. Such a good mommie!
Beautiful night out, but warm already! 75 in PA, 81 here already, and it wasn't even 4 yet! We have a heat advisory from noon to 8PM this afternoon, so gonna get sticky! Ugh.
All have a great eagle and panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Suzanne said...

Feeding over, mom is laying down again. She sure doesn't nurse very long at a time. Guess the little one doesn't eat that much yet.

Suzanne said...

Bai is sleeping, and Fin chick is in nest either grooming or sleeping with head tucked under wing. It's lunch time over there, so unless he's had a really hard night, he's grooming. Other Fin nest MT, but sun's out over there for a change. Marina MT, Cormorants hanging out, and small fish on cam 3. Lots of boats on cam1 going by. Opened and checked stork nest, MT, Mrs Swallow on chicks, thought it's still very dark. Undersea cam is dark, and that's the only cams up. Still hooked on Bai and baby! Oh, Mrs S moved, and chicks are sticking out from under her. They sure have grown! Can't wait to see them, now. Well, darn, Fin chick is out and about again...

Suzanne said...

Washing baby again!

Suzanne said...

Awwwwwww, so cute. She washed the baby, who was wiggling, now she's done and has her head on paw going to sleep. It is so cool to see thos huge paws being so gentle with that tiny little baby!
Love this cam operator, he zooms in every time she moves!

Suzanne said...

Bai sleeping again, she fed the little one a while ago, couldn't blog it, boss was in here. Fin nest MT, boats are out on other Fin cams, but nest MT. Marina MT. Mrs S on babies, I guess, something is moving, but it's dark.
I forgot to tell you! I saw my first buck coming to work this morning! That was just aweseome! I've seen a gazillion deer, all does and now fawns too, but I've never seen a deer with a rack! A very nice 6 pointer this morning, coming into Leesburg! On the side of the road watching me go by... I flicked my lights at him, and he just put his head higher and looked at me, so guess the lights don't work too well on the boys. But I thought it was cool! Hope he stays on the side or goes back in the woods and live a long and healthy life!

Suzanne said...

Oh, also forgot to say, I finished Harry Potter last night! Hummmmmmmmm... that's all I'm gonna say about that!

Suzanne said...

This was on my August monthly Borders this morning:

"Named Book of the Year at the 2007 British Book Awards, The Dangerous Book for Boys is a nostalgic how-to guide for everything from making secret ink to building a go-kart and finding north in the dark. Packed with valuable information, boys of all ages will delight in the creative projects for rainy (and sunny) days. Read by Oliver Wyman with clarity and vigor."

But after Steve mentioned the book, I've seen mentioned all over.

Suzanne said...

Mom washing baby, gonna be meal time in a minute.

Suzanne said...

Oh my, couple little washes then back to sleep. Baby just squirms when mom washes him! Both snoozing now, I guess, mom looks sound asleep.

Suzanne said...

We're waking up again. That was quck, 2 quick licks and back to sleep. She must be washing baby in her sleep. Nope, baby is wiggling, zoomed in, and she's washing again. Oh precious, Mom washed baby for a while, now she's fallen asleep with baby right under her nose.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING SUZ--
You were talking about seeing the Buck this morning; it is exciting isn't it? Don't see them very often. My Mom has an abandoned fawn who sleeps in her yard under a shade tree. Gene feeds it carrots when we go to visit. The deer are so beautiful, but they really play havoc on Mom's garden.

SD baby panda will never get any fur if Mom keeps licking it so much.

Suzanne said...

Good morning, Wanda! It sure was beautiful! I had not seen a Buck since I've been driving down here, so it was exciting! Beautiful! I hate that poor little fawn lost it's mommy! Sometimes I see either a fawn standing by himself, and then a ways down is mom, she'd been hit, or vice versa! I hate to see that! But people drive so fast, they just can't stop in time to avoid hitting anything.

Yeah, mom sure is washing that baby! Earlier she was washing it, then it would be time to eat. Last couple hours she only washes then falls asleep, he doesn't get fed every time he gets a stimulation bath!

Robyn said...

Good morning Suzanne, Wanda.

I started watching the site with the owls that heidigirl put up yesterday and I saw 3 babes last night one didn't move for the longest time now all I see are 2 with 4 unhatched eggs most likely soon to hatch. Mom and dad have been in the same spot so not sure of their feeding habits with the newly born...

I may wait till they are older to watch, after watching Diego and Frieda's brood and the eating of 3 of the youngest/weakest not sure I can sit through that again...

Robyn said...

Nevermind number 3 came into view.

Suzanne said...

Good Morning, Robyn. I know what you mean! Candy sent me the link, and I brought them up this morning, but Barn Owls again. Like you, not sure I can watch siblings devouring siblings again. Don't see number 3, buthave seen the 2 earlier. I have it up, but not watching as closely as our Panda! Never mind, there is one over there by the 4 eggs. I sure hope those lights help warm the babies.
Did you have a good birthday yesterday? How's Tori doing, better?

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING ROBYN--
I was wondering about your return home. Are you looking forward to it or feel like staying in Florida?
We love Florida; tried to move there once, but jobs are very low paying in Gene's field (Grocery Business). We were trying to locate in Bradenton. Absolutly beautiful.

Tori is breathing much better so we feel it is Hypersensitivity pneumonitis. I love it here, we use to vaction here almost every other summer if we didn't visit the family in New Orleans. I would like to move but with the house market the way it is I would not get what my home is worth, besides I promised Tori she can graduate High School before I sold, me and my big mouth.

We leave tomorrow but will be spending a day or two with my friend in Lancaster SC, then home. Not use to be away for 3 weeks but it has been a nice time as we got to see family in Mississippi and Louisiana that we haven't seen for almost a decade. So hard to choose between seeing the folks or cousins so mom and dad win out. Next year we will all meet up in Gulfport for a week and do the usual spring break to florida.

MITS said...

GOOD MORNING PANDA LOVERS Take care in this heat today. DRINK DRINK DRINK, water, not EAGLE TALONS:):):):)!

Robyn said...

Morning Mits, hot down here too, reached 102 on the thermometer yesterday...

MITS said...

Robyn even OC is under a heat advisory today and tomorrow, very unusal.

Suzanne said...

Morning, Mits. You sounded very promising when you said drink, drink, drink, but then you had to say water! That popped my bubble! I was getting ready to take you up on that!
We're under a heat advisory from 12 to 8 tonight, but don't know about tomorrow! Gonna be very humid.
Robyn, I'm sure glad Tori is doing so much better breathing! That's wonderful. Glad you're enjoying your vacation too, seeing family and friends. Yeah, housing market isn't what it was. There is a guy here whose wife wants to sell their home and buy a new one, and the realtor told her it would be on the market for quite a while, not to plan on a fast sell!

Suzanne said...

Osprey in 2nd Fin nest! Osprey in BW too, he's been there a while.

Suzanne said...

Oh, our wanderer Fin chick just arrived! Squaking up a storm, so maybe he's hungry.

Suzanne said...

Man, Finney is being VERY vocal!

carolinabeachmom said...

GOOD TUESDAY MORNING SUZANNE, ROBYN WANDA AND MITS. It is going to be another hot one out there today. I guess Suzanne saw all the panda action for the time being. It looks like Mom is sleeping.

Suzanne said...

Wow, mom brought something to eat, chick stole it and went immediately into manteling mode. Think mom has something to eat too

Suzanne said...

Morning, Candy! Thanks for that owl link! Kinda cool, and one I can watch here...miracles never cease. Yeah, mom will wake up shortly and feed the baby. Very squirmy when he's getting washed!

carolinabeachmom said...

Suzanne I guess you were right. The chick was telling the Mom to come down with that food.

Suzanne said...

Yeah, it sure worked! Did you see that huge bite the chick had? Looks like he had to break it in two.

MITS said...

Not a good time to sell, unless you want to give it away, buyers market now. We have almost 2,000 condos for sale down here.

Suzanne said...

Feeding time again. You guys see the closeups?

carolinabeachmom said...

Time for the six o'clock feeding! :)

carolinabeachmom said...

Boy, that Fin juvie is as big as his parent. Did he grow fast. Sitting side by side, it looks like they are the same size now. Back to Panda

Suzanne said...

Wow, Mits, 2,000? That's unreal! That's a lot. Even at the beach, guess it's a buyer's market.
Yup, Candy 6 o'clock feeding! She feeds him about every hour, so he'll be growing soon!
Both Fin ospreys are either really squaking or it's very hot over there too.

MITS said...

But, no one is buying, one condo 2 doors down from me has been off and on market for 2 years.

MITS said...

Man the heat index for Bethesda tomorrow is going to be 107, wish they had a warm weather policy in the summer like they do in the winter. Because I would not go in, even the animals are smart enough not to come out.

carolinabeachmom said...

Well MITS make sure you find some shade and drink WATE

Suzanne said...

Wow, that's a long time for beach property! Guess that's a long time for any property to be on the market. They have something on the housing market almost evey night on the news now, and I guess all those people that bought houses a few years ago when the interest rate was so low are now losing them. Rates have fluctuated, and now they can no longer afford their homes, so they're going into forclosure. That's too bad.
Give them a call, Mits, they may have such a policy. It's going to be miserable with a heat index that high! And I'll bet you're right, the animals are gonna be inside where it's air conditioned.

MITS said...

The worse case scenario, Suzanne is if the pandas stay in and I have to been in the panda house, you get several hundred people in there and it gets oppresive even with the AC.

Suzanne said...

Both Mrs Fin and chick are still in nest. Been a while since we've seen both of there for any amount of time!

paula eagleholic said...

Morning, all! Days like this I am thankful I have an inside job. I do like it hot, but today it would be pretty tough to be working out in this heat!

Suzanne said...

Ewwww, too many people, too little space for me, specially in the summer!

Suzanne said...

Bai fed the young'un again, now she's napping. Both still in Finland nest! They keep squaking and looking all around, wonder what is flying around?

Suzanne said...

Morning, Paula.
I said that about the Fin nest, and mom just left. Chick is getting ready to go too, looks like.

carolinabeachmom said...

Good morning PAULA! Parent departed Fin nest, now juvie can take a nap? It doesn't look like it tho, He seems too restless,

SUZANNE No scuba divers looking for you yet this morning; just fish. :)

carolinabeachmom said...

Finland MT Nest

paula eagleholic said...

Suz, did you get to see the clip on the news of the SD cub? It was squeaking!

Suzanne said...

Chick left.
Mom still sleeping.

carolinabeachmom said...

It looks like another egg in the owl nest is opening up to a new chick.

Suzanne said...

Wow, Finland is back, and look at the fish the chick has in his talons!

Suzanne said...

No, Paula, I missed it. I saw the birth on the Today show Sat, but didn't know he was back on the news last night. Darn! But figured he was being very vocal when mom left him alone a couple times yesterday...he squirmed around in circles until she came back. He's adorable!

Suzanne said...

That fish looks like a baby whale! Fin chick is using his wings to balance the fish so he can get a bite! Awesome.

Suzanne said...

LOL, now look who is begging for a bite...that would be mom!

Jill said...

Hey Mits-only 2000. Seems like more when you drive down the highway. I think they should stop building til all but 10% are sold. IF they can't sell what they have they don't need anymore.

carolinabeachmom said...

The size of that fish should keep him fed for awhile. I wonder if he caught it himself. He is really eating it up. He just took it over to the parent and dropped it. Maybe he is just being nice and wants to share it. Not.

Suzanne said...

Candy, I have the undersea cam open, but just looking at it occassionally! Too busy watching Bai and Finland! Oh, and swallows have been fed, have them open too today.

carolinabeachmom said...

HI JILL! JILL AND MITS it is the same here; they keep building and no one is buying. I'd like to know who is financing all these builders. Down here, I imagine that they try to rent the vacant ones during the summer, but even then, people aren't renting like they used to. The rent is toooooo high. You either have to be a billionaire or get 6 families in one house.

Suzanne said...

Oh, and your owls, Candy. Kinda neat, but when more hatch, and somee get bigger than the others, I'm gonna quit watching till they all decide how many there really are gonna be that get to grow up!

carolinabeachmom said...

SUZANNE I have been watching the new owl cam too. I don't understant what is going on there. There are two parents there, 3 babies and 3 unhatched eggs. No one seems concerned about the unhatched eggs and I havae yet to see a parent feed a chick. Strange

Suzanne said...

osprey back in 2nd Fin nest.

carolinabeachmom said...

SUZANNE I didn't like that either. The NY Kestrals did the same. Yuk! I like watching, but not one eating the other. I don't think I will ever get over seeing the kestral head just sitting there. I know it is nature, but I don't like to see it.

I think it was wither Robyn or Megan that found the owl site and gave it to us last night.

Suzanne said...

I saw 4 eggs, Candy, but I also haven't seen either parent attempt to feed the 3 chicks. Not sure what's going on now, cam1. Maybe going to sit on the eggs?

carolinabeachmom said...

Boy SUZANNE, your juvie is sure devouring that fish in a hurray. It didn't take him any time to almost finish it.

normabyrd said...

CANDY---No STORKS yesterday either!!----I guess--CHESS, MILA & GWEN must enjoy flying---That would be COOL--HUH--CANDY????

LONE OSPREY at BW NEST!!!

MITS said...

Very interesting update on the SD blog from the SRT, Suzanne Hall:).

Suzanne said...

Man, don't know how I missed it, but good morning, Jill and Normabyrd. Guess I'm just checking one or two back and then posting. Maybe reading first and then posting is a better idea!
Mom left, chick still working on his whale. Think he caught it, he brought it to nest, Mom was already there. Osprey still in 2nd Fin nest. Getting lighter in swallow nest, and Jo's owl is in the hotel, osprey back at BW, and guess NL owls are just hanging out waiting for the other eggs to hatch.
Bai is sleeping, think she fell over again while nursing the little one. Man, if I slept in her positions, my back would be out for a month!

normabyrd said...

The "ATLANTA BEAUTY" is 'ROMPING' with LUN LUN----I think she is getting the best of her MOM--She is a strong little fighter & biter too---

carolinabeachmom said...

SUZANNE It looks like your Juvie is fed and ready for the day or is it getting night over there. Maybe that was his supper. Now MT nest.

normabyrd said...

WOW!---SUZANNE---when you have such a "GORGEOUS LITTLE ONE" to keep your eye on---Who wants to keep checking any one else!!!---ho! ----

Suzanne said...

It's 4 minutes to 6 in the evening, Candy. They are 7 hours ahead of us.
Osprey still hanging out in 2nd nest. That is just a beautiful nest and area!

Capt. Eagle said...

Mits, you are right; drink water not Eagle Talons. They are for Eagle Buddy Gatherings. I have been reading your comments and I will be in touch when my Tiger will let me have the mouse.
We are planing our trip to Va. Beach with Mother-in-law and maybe OBX. Will be in touch when we get back.

Jill said...

Hey Mits did you go back to the older development? The road that goes down by Uncle Willies. Back to the right there are a couple of roads that turn off, that is where my aunt lives. She did have and egret and some ducks living in her yard. The main construction office for Cygnet is at the end of taht road.

Jill said...

NORMA-We have had so many problems with Bluefield, he decided to stay here and go to Shep this semester and try again next semester for Bluefield. No matter what we sent them they kept wanting more. Wish they would just say yes or no and be done with it. Now he is scrambling to get into Shep.

JILL---I think he will enjoy SHEPHERD----It's highly rated & keeps growing!!!---If he is interested in sports---Just read this a.m.--SHEPHERD is rated #1 in upcoming football in the state!!!
ho!---

Suzanne said...

Looks like another egg may be cracking in the owl nest, but not too sure about the parents there. they have yet to attempt to feed the chicks that have hatched! The chicks are moving all around as much as they can as tiny as they are now. Thought barn owls fathers supplied the meals while mom incubated the chicks and then fed the chicks? The one owl has been in the same position for hours and hours today, hasn't moved, much less go out and get food! Don't think they're very good parents so far.

Capt. Eagle said...

Well Suz, I will have to tell you about my TIGER sometime.
HAPPY VIEWING LADIES.

Suzanne said...

LOL, that's ok, Capt Eagle, I have a great imagination! (Probably not needed!!)

Have fun.
