Thanks for the Friday thread Steve:) Hello Jill and Mits! I am working on finding out more details, working to get the accident report from the police. This was an inquiry from his auto insurance wanting to know if she has liability insurance.
He is long gone this morning, Paula, thank goodness. I'm sure he'll be back out tonight, but I turned on the A/C in the bedroom, so I won't have to smell him:) I never thought to check my homeowner's insurance, I see liabilty coverage listed, I assumed it only covered incidents that occured at the house.

Are you coming to the open hose Vicky??? Cool!! By then I will be knee deep in the pumpkin patch. I have been 'promoted' to field trip coordinator and am busy booking schools for their trips. I will try to go to mkt. until late Sept., that will depend on mother nature.
I'm going to publish immediately, since I just lost about a 2-page comment...Explorer "encountered a problem and had to shut down." I tried to save the text first, but "das ist verboten!"
Earlier, I was telling Megan a sure way to beat insomnia is to get comfortable in a favorite spot, and really concentrate on staying awake while reading something you either have to read for your school or your work...or something you really wanted to read for a while like "Playboy" or "The American Rifleman" (you know, the article on "The U.S. M14: 50 Years of Service"), or any of the great Ernest Hemmingway novels. Really FIGHT to stay awake to finish an engrossing part .......................ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
The "LITTLE PRINCE" is so warm this mornin'---He looks just like a "BEAR RUG" lying on his favorite grate!!!!-----HE IS THE FAVORITE OF ALL THE PANDAS!!-----RIGHT!---HELEN!!!
Paula Love the pic - you did good! Norma I do hope that Anne brings your eagle home from AK. We need others to get their avatars on here! It's a great way of noticing comments when looking for certain ones.
From what I am hearing the Open House is going to be Party Land again this year! WHoo HOo! The more the merrier!
SORRY MEGAN!!---That smell seems to stay around----Will let you know if I find a cure---ho! ho!---Just keep lots of your sweet smelling flowers around!!!---Remember in BAMBI---The little skunk was named 'FLOWER'!!!!
Time for me to hit the road. Sorry I didn't get to talk after earlier, got busy on other computer. All have a great weekend! Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly! check out Bai's sleeping position! Bye
Hi Jill and anybody else who signed on after 9:00 this morning. Vicky, I love your eagle pic. Paula, the angel wings on LIMUW are so sweet. I left a tribute for him. It was LILY, Limuw I loved you. My husband calls me Dily sometimes for Donna I love you. It works for about anything. Loving things really hurts sometimes. Sometimes you just wish you didn't love so hard, but we can't help it can we? We tie our fodder shocks with sea grass twine. It it is the same twine we use to bale square bales of hay. We had to slow down with our farm work several years ago. We never got into round bales. Daughter uses round bales, but we don't do large scale farming anymore, even though my husband had to have a brand new John Deere 4 wheel drive farm tractor. He just wanted it to keep everything mowed. Gotta go read some essays, Jo busted me yesterday. BBL mauley
Jo - Jann on the IWS forum made it for me. The picture was taken on banding day by Jim Spickler, the tree climber. The picture is posted in the tribute thread.
Great Megan. So glad we could help. Don't worry the insurance company won't pay unless they are sure your daughter caused it. I know she hurt her hand pretty bad but how much damage could she have done to the car/truck? Where did she hit it?
The police report definitely faults her. She smashed into the back side and put a dent in it from what I hear. My ins. agent says, don't worry, we'll get lots of info before we pay.
Good Grief, Megan. My son ran into a car one time on his bike, he was just shaken up, but the guy was so shocked that he had been hit by a bike, he was just concerned that Kev was ok, never went after us for damages. Don't even remember if there where damages.
Which is what we naively thought might happen, cause we had never heard from the guy until 2 days ago when his ins. co sent the letter. It is a 2007 truck, must be planning on replacing the whole side panel that is dented, that stuff does get expensive.
GEEZ Megan, what did she do, rip the whole rear end off the truck? No wonder her hand is so messed up. LOL. I can't believe a girl on a bike could cause that much damage. Was her bike messed up or just her? Poor thing. But she is on the mend now so everything will be alright. Let the insurance companies handle it.
My son hit a gas pump, bent the nozzle thingy and broke out a piece of plexiglas and they wanted to replace the whole pump. My insurance said No Way. I think they are still fighting about it.
Just a big dent in the side from where the bike smashed into it, from what I've heard. Again, I wasn't there, and none of my relatives got a pic of the truck, cause all they cared about was my daughter's condition. So the ins. companies can fight about the estimate. That's why we pay them.
We have so many Horror stories about accidents we have been involved in the past. None of them were our fault but trying to prove some of them took a toll on our sanity. One in particular was about 12 years ago. We were coming down Rt.45 headed east on the bridge which goes over the Opequon creek. It was flooded at the time and the road was wet from a recent snow and gravel, etc. was in the road from the salt trucks. A car was stopped on the bridge and because of the road conditions, Gene knew he couldn't get stopped in time, so we swerved to pass the car and at that moment she decided to come into the passing lane (no passing lane on a bridge, unless an emergency) to avoid a pothole. Well, we hit her and demolished our car and just hit the side of her tail end.-----To make a long story short, almost 2 years later, she sued us for $100,000. and we were only insured for $50,000. She said her daughter was suffering from headaches from the accident. We found out she had been having headaches all her life. Threatened to counter-sue and the case was pretty much dropped. Was very scarey---Thought we would loose our house.
Yeah Wanda people will try to get whatever they can get. I was in a wreck on John ST. Hit broad side by a guy who didn't stop at the stop sign. All I wanted was damages for my car and medical, that's all I deserved. I wasn't injured for life, not mental condition. He tried to sue me for causing him mental anguish. HELLO. I told my insurance company to counter sue for Zach's mental state because he was traumatized by the wreck. And he needed compensation for the rest of his life. He was 6 months old. Shut that guy up real quick. And of course he saw the error of his ways. And to top it off, not too long ago he was arrested for DUI, no insurance etc etc, and guess who the magistrate was??????
Wanda, usually they get a 3 month policy or a policy they pay monthly, once they get the tag, the drop the insurance. A lot of the time we find the tags aren't proper either so they don't need insurance. By the time the DMV figure it out, if they do, the person is long gone from the address and it takes forever to find them.
Megan, there is some stuff you can get a Lowe's that keeps cats, dogs and other assorted animals away from your garden, it might work for the skunk. Not sure of the name but it has a funky pepper/cinnamon smell. I just put it on the bricks in front of my flowers and nothing goes in there. Do you use something to keep them out of your garden? Put some of that around the house.
You mean Bai Lun, Jill??? SD has a very unusal birthing den, really hard to see the cub. I really didn't like it trying to watch Su-Lin when she was young, and didn't like the fact there was no audio. There is a video with sound of yesterdays' exam on their web-site. And my sister reminded me that they have suspended the 24/7 watch as of the 17th, since everything is going so smoothly.
Yeah Mits. Can't keep my pandas straight, LOL. For awhile she stayed back away from the opening not she seems to be moving closer to it. Might be so she can keep an eye on Squiggles when she goe out to eat, which she is doing a lot more.
Hello, Hello, Hello, I dont know who is here but I am.... I havent read the blog and I'm afraid if I do you will all go to bed before I get through. ITS FRIDAY, HURRAY.....
Hurray, a real momster. things are fine and I'm so glad to be home. Its hot but there is a breeze blowing so maybe we will get a break tonight. It wasn't suppose to reach 100.
I get butterflies every time someone mentions it. Its so silly. I'm a grown woman, not a kid waiting for Christmas.I had dreams of 6'4", blue eyes, and honey to go with me but that didn't happen. So here I go. 13 more days. I make friends easy so it should be fun. I have an appointment at the eagle rescue and rehabilitation center in Sitka . I am really excited about that.
Hi Paula I thought I was the only one on the blog so I was checking email. No I am getting on the boat in San Francisco. It bring me right back here. Talk about service.
I have two weekends to pack. I dont do much on weekdays. If I can maintain my home and yard I'm doing well. I crash about 9:00 watch a bit of TV and get up at 6:00 to start over again. Its the clothes situation that is stressing me. I'm not sure what to take.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE-- Good Girl, Jo. We were out to dinner with my Mom and daughter and didn't get home til late. Came in to see if you were still up and the puter needed to be re-booted, so I am just now able to get in here. Ran into Jill at the restaurant (we were both going after the crablegs)ttyt

Have a great weekend!
Paula I just enlarged your avatar and that is the cutest pic of Limuw ever! I really do miss that little vagabond!
Hubby is out cutting grass with the first rays of the sun!
Thank you SD cam operator, yes much nice to look at the front end than the back end!
DONNA, Glad my name isn't Barbara, or might be a little awkward, if hubby expresses his love:):):) tee-hee!
Ah, what would I do without my eagle buddies? Thanks, guys, been on the phone with homeowner's insurance co., we are covered, claim in progress.
That's great, Megan:)
Fantastic, Megan! I would still want my Insurance agent to see some kind of proof of damages!
Great Megan. So glad we could help. Don't worry the insurance company won't pay unless they are sure your daughter caused it. I know she hurt her hand pretty bad but how much damage could she have done to the car/truck? Where did she hit it?

Mei and Tian are ruff-housing again:).
The police report definitely faults her. She smashed into the back side and put a dent in it from what I hear. My ins. agent says, don't worry, we'll get lots of info before we pay.
For about 20 bucks dent can be taken care of, don't ya think?
And another thing, wonder how many dents were already there that they are trying to capatilize (sp) on? I'd like to go there and smack them silly.
Try about 2 grand.
Good Grief, Megan. My son ran into a car one time on his bike, he was just shaken up, but the guy was so shocked that he had been hit by a bike, he was just concerned that Kev was ok, never went after us for damages. Don't even remember if there where damages.

MEGAN--
I think you may need to borrow the CANE from Jo.
You may be right, Wanda. But I'm gonna let the insurance companies duke it out.
Osprey in CT and BW.
Vehicle body repair costs are unbelievable. Most of the time they would rather replace the panel than fix a ding.
That guy must be one of those "whiners" we all know and love.
GEEZ Megan, what did she do, rip the whole rear end off the truck? No wonder her hand is so messed up. LOL. I can't believe a girl on a bike could cause that much damage. Yikes, Wanda, that's awful. Let's hope this guy just wants his truck fixed.
Well, I think I know 2 guys, Megan and for a small fee.......JUST KIDDING!
Yeah Wanda people will try to get whatever they can get. I was in a wreck on John ST. Hit broad side by a guy who didn't stop at the stop sign. JILL--
How do people get license tags and not have any insurance? I have always wondered that.
Thought so Mits. LOL

Of course I did Paula, but there is that little bit of leeway I have that helps. LOL
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly they start to look like miniature giant pandas:).
Hope Bai is getting a bite to eat.
Has anybody heard from Nilla yet? I don't remember seeing her on here but then again I missed Jo the other day.
Isn't cub 2 weeks old today? Wow, 3 weeks old! My how time flies.
Leeway is good, Jill.
Frieda in color now.
Haven't heard from Nilla since last week, I believe. Here on the blog, that is.
Megan, there is some stuff you can get a Lowe's that keeps cats, dogs and other assorted animals away from your garden, it might work for the skunk. Mom back and cub snugglin'
Have a good evening all. Getting ready to head home to mow the grass!! See ya later!!

Is it me or is Mei sleeping closer the door lately. Maybe showing little one the big world of the sun room.
You mean Bai Lun, Jill??? SD has a very unusal birthing den, really hard to see the cub. Hello, Hello, Hello, I dont know who is here but I am.... I havent read the blog and I'm afraid if I do you will all go to bed before I get through. ITS FRIDAY, HURRAY.....

Hi Jill, I'm waiting for my camera. I'm excited. the mail man didnt bring it today. No UPS either.
Is it 2 weeks to go for your trip now? How long will you be gone?
I get butterflies every time someone mentions it. Its so silly. I'm a grown woman, not a kid waiting for Christmas.I had dreams of 6'4", blue eyes, and honey to go with me but that didn't happen. So here I go. 13 more days. I make friends easy so it should be fun. I have an appointment at the eagle rescue and rehabilitation center in Sitka . I am really excited about that.
I will be gone for 12 days
How is everyone?
Wow, the A/C feels good. Been mowing the lawn and walking the dogs.
Hey, Anne. Nothing wrong with getting excited! Sounds like it's gonna be a great trip. I would love to go to Alaska someday.
I take it you are flying up then getting on the boat.
Hi Paula I thought I was the only one on the blog so I was checking email. No I am getting on the boat in San Francisco. It bring me right back here. Talk about service.
Sitka, was on the show the other night about Alaska, wish they had shown more of it. Is that where the EAGLE LADY lives? There is a book about her.
Didn't it look cold. I am such a sissy. Snow should be enjoyed from a plate glass window and a cup of hot cocoa.
Mits, whats the book? I would love to get it.
Anne, this is the quick cut and past version. Baldeagleinfo is a great site.

She is in Homer, Alaska.
Howdy, Mits. How's the beach tonight?
That sounds like great service Anne.
I have two weekends to pack. I dont do much on weekdays. If I can maintain my home and yard I'm doing well. I crash about 9:00 watch a bit of TV and get up at 6:00 to start over again. Its the clothes situation that is stressing me. I'm not sure what to take.
Have either of you gotten whitening system done at your dentist? I got ZOOM and boy is my mouth sore.
Can't say I have, Anne.
Oh well , thanks Paula. Have a nice evening and sleep well.
Just caught Frieda's tale off the eggs, still 3 there.
You got wax, girl!
tail, not tale!
Ok, folks, gotta hit the hay. See ya here tomorrow.
Hope you all had a good Friday and are ready for an even better weekend...
Jim

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE--
Good Girl, Jo.
We were out to dinner with my Mom and daughter and didn't get home til late. Came in to see if you were still up and the puter needed to be re-booted, so I am just now able to get in here. Ran into Jill at the restaurant (we were both going after the crablegs)ttyt
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE Wanda, Jo and I are the night owls, she may be off the blog, but she is still checking out Frieda, I bet:).
GOOD NIGHT, ALL.
JIM
Did Wanda mention she wouldn't share her crablegs??????????? LOL
A VERY GOOD SATURDAY MORNING TO EVERYONE...
You can't believe I have the first comment of the morning, can you??
Hahahaha....
Jim
I'm watching Pete's Pond now...ostriches are skittishly approaching the pond and drinking.
Both African sites look as though they are in for a storm...overcast heavily and the wind is blowing spookily.
Frieda is resting quietly at about 8:30 in the evening.
Jim
Good grief, what are you doing up so early? Try reading Playboy to get back to sleep. LOL
LOL - I don't think Jim got any sleep at all...maybe that's where he is now?
Take care today, Megan. Gonna be nasty out there today.
MT nests everywhere :(
Hey Paula- Yep, it is already hot and humid out there. I'm gonna avoid the sun today for sure.
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING EVERYONE, HAVE A GOOD ONE, STAY HYDRATED...WITH WATER:)
MT nests except Freida :)
The beach sounded nice last night, Mits. Thanks for the description. Stay cool today.
