Guess it wasn't a food drop, as he had settled back down. He just flapped his wings and now I think is on the edge of the nest on the right.

He was checking in on the route the Eagle Train takes on Map Quest. Noticed that there were 0 comments and wondered why. I told him there was a new thread and to type something. His FIRST time on a blog.
Gene, are you guys watching the Kent and Puget Sound eagles? All are very frisky today, doing lots of wing flaps.
Eggbert just disappeared off cam again, was doing big wing flaps!
Well, Wanda, at least he picked the best blog there is, as the first one for him to try blogging! Now get him watching the cams, and you guys will need another computer...his and hers! He'll get hooked like the rest of us!
there goes one of the Kent chicks flapping, and he continue. He must have a lot of energy this morning. Now he is up to the edge of nest and now back in nest as a parent , no parent didn't stay too long. He is still aonthe edge of the nest longing for flight.
Santa Cruz is up with Limuw on his launch branch. Other than that, all is quiet there.
Candy, wonder if Albert will make it to a branch today? He's sure doing a lot of wing flaps!
I can see what Santa will have to bring to Gene and Wanda's house for Christmas this year. :) Once you are hooked, your hooked.

Think that was Einstein watching Albert closely. Albert looked away, and Einstein was trying to steal whatever it was. These 2 are a riot when it comes to food!

Suzanne I am surprised the owls are back in the nest or is it Frida and Diego who keep coming back. I feel sad that the Va cam is down for the season , that was the first cam I discovered then Maine then here.
I'm going to take the girls to the Houston science and nature museum after Tori's Doctor visit, so if anyone has been there please let me know which exhibis would be worth while going to as there are quite a few.
Looking forward to what we may see in our journeys south and acrss he gulf states.

Morning, Robyn! Not sure what the Falcon's names are in Australia, want to say Frieda and Frodo, but not sure. Don't know Frieda and Diego. Names are familiar, but not sure who they are and what birds. The Benicia owls have been coming back for quite a while. Reclaiming the nest after babies all gone, and grooming each other and beaking. Reaffirming their bond.
Never been to Houston, sorry, no help for you.

At least one CT osprey has fledged!! Only one in the nest this morning, and that one is about ready too, was just hovering above the nest for about 5-7 seconds!
Was there a food drop in Kent? Looks like Alberts eating, and Einstein is back in the nest waiting his opportunity to steal it!
It looks like Albert has his own flight training program going in the nest itself....
Has Einstein left the nest area since his trip to the local driveways the other day??

The harsh thunderstorms that went through New York yesterday knocked the Puleston cam off line and the whole site too. They are hoping to get it up today or tomorrow....
Einstein seems to have discovered real flight! Albert hasn't moved anything other (than his head) watching Einstein since he left.
I think the second chick at CT just fledged or he is sitting on the cam....ok just cam back on the nest.

THE STORK CHICKS will begin to hop up & then rise up to about 10 ft. within the next few days---(the cam has been adjusted so we can watch)---Soon it will be hard to tell them apart from the parents---Their beak is still black ---w/turn reddish-brown soon like parents---Their legs will do the same---But CHICK & PARENTS WILL BE ABOUT SAME SIZE!!----AWESOME BIRDS TO WATCH!!!!

Was on the phone. Norma, Einstein left his branch just as Jim asked, and was flying around. Albert was watching him, moving his head only. Then Albert got to this side of the nest and did big flaps, and flew to the tree. Now he doesn't know how to get down, poor thing! Guess Einstein is either still flying around, or he's perched on another tree! Poor Albert is stuck!

Well I guess I am going to have to wonder how Albert made out, as it is getting close to ll am and my friend is just here to the pool.

Thanks Paula I just got caught up on the blog. Seen it before. Someone thought the other had two. Do you think it has just been the one that is gone now?
One is still hanging in the CT nest...but he has been hovering over it at times....should be ready anytime! He was born 3 days after the first one, so we may have to wait another couple of days.
Jo don't know which Owl cam I was watching. The Owl was in a hole in a tree. This other Owl flew up to the hole where the others head was sticking out. Fed it a BIG LONG FIHSING Worm. That Owl gobbled it down FASTTTT !!

Last night I map quested my directions to Romney - quite simple really - Like I said a 1hr 50 min ride. I have family up in Ridgeley WV and am familiar with the drive. In fact hubby went up today with his brothr to visit his dad. If it encounters an overnite I vote for the South Branch Inn who welcomes tour groups or the Koolwink Motel.

Parent in CT Osprey nest seems to not want to keep feeding chick that stayed in nest. She seems to want to take fish around to the chick that fledged and returned.
Carol Our adult eagles here do not migrate. I know of someone who took the ride in Nov and they saw at a distance 2 or 3.

Hey Carol! Go to www.hawkmountain.org they have a page that shows peak migration times, and the count from last fall showing what birds were seen on specific weeks. They say migration occurs between late Aug. and Nov.
Heidigirl - Be prepared to do a lot of walking at Wmsburg. I mention this because it can be an issue for some of us. Whoever mentioned the Trellis Restaurant - was correct - they have wonderful food there. It is just outside of the preserved, historical part of town. You also have to eat in one of the old taverns within the town. They have Wmsburg era food.
I wonder when Bob Quinn is going to send us some more pictures. He had been on vacation... Hope he gets some to us in a little while.

No, Gene doesn't use the computer very much. How can he with me on here. He does use Map Quest and sites such as that. He e-mails our Daughters and his friends.
Well I can't keep my eyes open Jo when you get back wake me. hee hee
Ok, I did two pages of statements and then I got on Jet Blue to see if financially I could swing the trip. If I am conservative in Alaska I can fly into Dulles and rent a car. I get one way free which will help. The car will cost me more than the plane. I will have to be conservative on motels, not the Ritz,and I can do it. Now to organise my work schedule.

Did you donate or have tests. My hubby goes to the VA center for checkups and they take at least a pint of blood each time he goes there. It is no wonder he is Anemic.

I had to check on the Kent Kids which are both in the nest and good ole' Eggbert is also in his nest. I think they are very warm today!
Anne, how did you make out? Any decisions yet. Hope you're not in much pain!
That darn Eggbert.........No sooner did I post that he was in the nest & when I go right back to see him - He is GONE!
Don't know what was wrong with the Swallow cam, but the lighting is better today. Such a pretty feathery nest.
