Morning, Norma!

I went to a courthouse wedding yesterday, then the reception was at the Fairfield Inn in Fairfield, PA, the oldest Inn in America! Food was great, either flounder, pasta or prime rib, salad, garlic red mashed taters and green beans w/ carrots. Cheesecake, wedding cake, champaine fountain w/ strawberries and open bar. Had a great time!

I just want to quickly wish all of you going to the Momster Bash :) A great visit together. I will be here with a house full of ocmpnay so even if there had been well you know, I couldn't have made the trip this time. Hugs to all. Hi to Lib and Belle too hopefully.

Beautiful weather prevailed all evening long for the outside wedding. The setting was on the very top of the hill with plenty of open fields around. Tents had been set up by a good many friends who were invited to spend the night under the stars with the newlyweds.Of course they all brought their musical instruments! A Firework display was put on at dark. The ceremony was just so full of love, in fact the entire event was full of love! Beautiful. I had never attended such a fantastic casual wedding.

Glo Just read your post and
We won't give up until we get you to the nest!

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING, FRIENDS.

It's great to hear of two such promising weddings, Paula, Jo.

I wish the couples the BEST in their lives together.

Limuw spent the night on his nest...don't believe he got fed last night.

Dad came in with a silvery breakfast very early this morning, and shortly thereafter Limuw flew up to the launchpad branch, took off purposefully to the right, came back purposefully seconds later, repeated the process and departed stage right a second time....

Got all that in their Discussion Forum this morning...they have a couple of videos too.

Hello Eagles momsters, Norma, Jo, Paula, Glo and Jim. I'm glad to hear that both weddings, Jo's grandson and Paula's friend, went off ok and a nice time was had by all. Even fireworks at Jo's.

carolinabeachmom said...

Not much doing with all our birds at this time. Limuw is off his nest, but I can hear him screeching.
Eggbert is gone off his nest.
Kent chicks both just sitting in their nest.
Kestrals, still 3, are just resting.
BW osprey is out of nest.
Can't get Norfolk site.
The sawllow nest looks as if it in completed or near completion.
Finland chicks in their nest sleeping all alone.
Storks, I can't really tell how many are in the nighttime.
No falcon on Pa. ledge
Two Owls in the nest box for now.
Burrowning owls all in their big hole.

That is about it for now. Guess I'll get back to my book.

Wood Ducks are Hatching

Remember at top of page to Refresh the picture. There
is a little one visible right now.

carolinabeachmom said...

Oh bummer, I never looked at the wood duck. Thank you Dandra and Jo. That is amazing; just a little bit of fuzz. I wonder how many are there?

carolinabeachmom said...

Looks like another duck getting ready to come out of another egg. I see a hole in the egg by the babies.

carolinabeachmom said...

Forget it, it must have beem a a bug or a baby feather

Limuw has been eating his dinner brought to him by his parent.

HI CANDY--
Looks like you have the Blog all to yourself this evening. Watching TV with hubby.
Just stopped in to check out BB/Swallow nest. It looks like it is just about ready.

Meet you and Suz for coffee in the morning.

wvgal_dana said...

Good evening friends.

Do you think the wood chicks jumping 35ft. waddle away??

Mema Jo where's the wedding pics?

movin said...

Quite a bit of drama at S Cruz tonight...

K-10 came in from behind the camera with some kind of food. He's there for a couple of seconds when Limuw comes charging in behind, grabbing the food and mantling like a pro...there's no doubt he's aggressive enough.

He mantles and kind of whines at Dad (who's on the take-off branch) for a couple of minutes, then Dad takes off.

Either the food was too hard to eat, or not to Limuw's liking, or there wasn't enough of it, because Limuw didn't look like he ate much of it, and now he's on the overhead branch calling....

Good morning, eagle world. Was VERY hard to get up and going this morning! But, made it, and it's a nice night out. Warm already! 66 at my house, 76 here at 5 till 4, so it's gonna be a scorcher today! Too many blogs to read, not even gonna try. See our cam has been disabled for the season. Here's hoping we get a wonderful cam pic next season... for days at a time!! BW eagle is also disabled for the season, but the osprey is still up, and Finland is back. This is probably all old news to you guys!
Ok, going to open more cams. All have a great eagle day. Stay cool, drink lots of water.
Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Just watched the Finland chick get fed. Parent brought in a fish, and fed one chick the whole thing! What's the deal with that? Other guy didn't even get a bite! Poor thing! Now they're getting soaked, 'cause it's raining, but parent is trying to keep them covered. They're so big now, that's very hard to do. And from emails, guess we have a swallow in the BB nest. Something is there, but can't see what it is, but there is a bird in the nest. Nothing in BW osprey but a bunch off sod balls. Can't tell what's on the PA falcon ledge, looks like leftovers or something. Benicia owl nest is MT, they have a comment that the owlets' visits are few and far between now, but they do come and eat freshly caught prey. No comment about where they are roosting during the day.

Suzanne said...

Baby Kestrals are doing wing flap practice. They sure have grown! Gotten a lot darker, too. Not much room in that nest box now! Nothing in PA, that must have been shadows I saw earlier. Still raining in Finland. Stork babies are really getting big, too!

Suzanne said...

Osprey just arrived at BW.

GOOD MORNING SUZ--
I'll just bet it was hard to get up this morning. Did you do anything special on your vacation?

Fin babies have been doing wing flaps. It will be sad to see them go. I think we all enjoy them.

Mrs. Swallow's nest is just about ready. Someone cleaned out the box on July 5--so everything is nice and fresh. (they think ants may have been the culprits)
Limuw continues to visit his nest and dine there. Hollers a lot at anyone who will listen. He seems to love his new-found freedom.
Mits says that there will be no baby panda (false pregnancy).

Time to get my COFFEE. (Candy should be along shortly) BBL

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning early people Suzanne and I think Wanda. Also Good Morning to those that will be coming in.

Suzanne bet you enjoyed your days off.

wvgal_dana said...

The Kestels are soon going to need more room in that box.

Osprey at Conn. parents there and chicks fed well.

Suzanne said...

Good morning, Wanda and Dana. I've been playing catch up on some things, and haven't been checking cams or here on the blog. Sure was hard going to bed so early last night, and getting up this morning! Man, 5 days off in a row spoils you! Didn't do anything special, just got myself on regular hours for life. Read a lot, bloody cats would never leave me alone, took them 3 days just to realize I wasn't going anywhere! That's nice, but sometimes I don't want a cat on my lap all the time.
I'm glad they cleaned out the BB nest! There were quite a few bugs in there, could see them clearly on the cam, so they weren't tiny. So, guess the swallow is back. Well, sorry about the bluebirds, but I hope the swallow is successful! Something, anyway!! There has been a bird in there since I checked it first thing this morning, so I'm guessing she has eggs already.
Osprey still in BW, Finland babies are sleeping under the watchful eye of I think, Dad. Saw the egg this morning, too! Man, that thing just isn't going to break.
Kestrals are getting brown and cute. There are 2 owls in the Benicia nestbox, first time I've seen an owl there for over a week or so. And I checked Jo's link to the wood ducks. They're adorable! We have 2 chicks that have hatched. Don't know when, but parent is off the gazillion eggs, and make that 3 or 5 chicks. Can't really tell now. Think 5, 3 are brownish, 2 are very pale, so maybe they just hatched. Cool, new babies!

Suzanne said...

Nope, that's mom watching over the Osprey chicks in Finland. Didn't see her bracelet earlier.

wvgal_dana said...

Well my eyelids are getting heavy and I'd say they have the best of me. BBL
