We have all been following very closely the daily events for Robyn's daughter, Tori. Things are very encouraging for Tori now - even able to have some friends come to see her this weekend. We are all, especially her parents and grandparents, waiting for the donated lungs to come to her.
I had parked my van a couple of weeks ago because it needed brakes and I couldn't afford it yet. Got it fixed today and it was $99.62 for brakes and one rotor. Yay, van is back!
Someone at bowling told me that I need a new power cord since my computer is telling me that it does not recognize the cord I have. But as far as I can tell, it is doing everything it is supposed to do, even though it says it is not. I think I will just hang in there for awhile.
The power cord is not even a year old. Maybe still under warranty? My computer-smart sons probably know what I should do.
Couple of times, I have lost the picture and had only static. Probably not related to the power cord. I had that happen with my previous computer at work and I think it was a loose connection somewhere.
Not a good day. Transport never showed up til 1---so I was 30 mins late for my apptmt. Then had to get bloodwork done. It was 3 before I got home. :( And then vesuvius erupted......feel better now. But heading for sofa in a few.
Shirley, hope Hunter is okay. Your kids and grandkids with easily available grandma's were lucky! My Mom lived nowhere near, and the other one refused to do anything like that!! When my grands were little, I was working so that didn't help.....and since I've been retired I've done waht I can, which was a lot when Charlie was in ICU for 9 weeks and Carolyn was working....I hope it was enough to have helped them all! And now they don't need Grandma much!!! Since Charlie is almost always available, he manages those little emergencies.
Shirley, sometimes the power cord doesn't even come with the puter----have to buy it seperately. Carolyn just replaced hers for the third time in a year!!!! And no warranty.
Hope your SIL does great, Red!!!
Is the news about the recipient of Taitlyn's liver on her FB page? I'll have to look later. Going to sofa NOW. BBL.
Home sweet home! Hi all! Just posting so follow-up comments will come to my inbox. Weather sure is nice today - only 1 more week and January is over and done with! Only 1 more week til Lynn's treatments are over and done with! Double woohoo!!
Well, the rain has started. Well it is wet anyway, it is later tonight that it is really supposed to start. As I said before BRING IT ON!!
Took the plunge and called my eye doctor. I have an appointment next Thurs. to begin the steps toward having the second cataract removed. More fun! Jack better get me to raking. LOL Won't be able to do yard work for a while.
Well, Lynn, I don't see any reason to worry about getting another one as long as this one is working. Odd that it should say it isn't working, but the battery is charging.
Hope all goes well with your cataract issues, Lolly. Mary from the bowling team came back today after getting a cataract removed. She is seeing much better. She talked about how she was seeing lines on the TV that she had never noticed before. It seems they have been there for a long time.
Thanks, Shirley. Just do not want to have the problems I had last time. That was a mess! I am anxious to have it done as I really need new glasses. Can't see through these as they have fine scratches. Been wearing them for several years.
JO, you posted this AM about giving up on Alcatraz. "Lost" got weirder and weirder as time went by; so far, this has maintained the same level of weirdness so I'm going to stick with it for a few more weeks.
I thought Lost was fascinating at first. Then I started wondering how they were going to tie all of that stuff together, then I started wondering when it would just stop.
Shep just looked like he was pushing this eagle (Belle???) out of the nest. He sat on the rail and almost "kicked" at her? Look at the head, what is going on??? Someone with knowledge please be on here
I got a picture. Will post after we see what happens. We were "walking" and I was watching NBG and our nest. Saw two at NBG and this one flew in. Missed seeing Shep. Oh, do NOT want drama!!
The eagle in the nest was definitely watching the other fly around. It was crouched low and looking up and all around as if it was following another eagle.
I was on the lap top in the kitchen and had no sound. Thought the eagle in the nest looked "funny." Then, just as another eagle flew in, the cam froze for me!!
Let's hope it was just someone passing through and he/she got the message. If Belle/Shep feel there is a threat, they may stick very close to the nest tonight.
Nila update: She is at her sister's house. I helped them get her in the bed from the potty chair. Those girls need a little training I am afraid. :) Hospice is there getting all the information. Hopefully they will be able to supply them with everything they need. I told her everybody was praying for her and she said to thank you all. It means so much. I told her that I have a jamming group of prayer warriors on here! :-)
Just swinging by for a moment after a very busy day. Only time now to catch up with this new thread, but what surprises there are ! The NBG eagles often have to chase off strangers or perhaps offspring from past years. Hope that's all that is happening here. We don't need a repeat of last year's drama and heartache.

If there is anything on the previous blog I should go back for, please let me know. Otherwise I'm starting afresh from here.
Love and prayers for all you dear Eagle Buds ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Thanks to everyone for posting the great pics of the stranger. I don't hear either of our eagles in the tree or near the cam so let's hope it was just a fly-by,like Goldilocks trying the beds at the 3 bears' house, and all is well now.
Trespasser must have flown off Was he or she there when our eagles where there I saw pic really dirty head must be young one At VA they have been have juve also show up
I have to add a goal page to the IEP I wrote over the weekend so I'll be in LM, but I think I'll leave the cam running this evening. I usually turn it off after dark since there's no action, but ...
Good evening everyone! Jumping on to tell you all I love you dearly and I am gonna make a conscious effort to get over here and tell you that more often!
I really do not want any drama this season. I want a nice little family, raising their nice little children!!!
Just signing back in - I have had dinner and had spent an hour out shopping for gift. Alexis this Thursday will be 7 years old.
I have not read all the comments BUT I have been the DMO's blog. Those pics of an immature eagle may mean bad business for our guys. Our couple sure has to claim our nest. :(
If the skies clear, we may be able to see Northern Lights tonight!!
Hmmm...from Potomac Valley Audobon Society: PVAS’s 11th Annual Race for the Birds in April. The race will be held on April 21, not April 12. We regret the error. The event will be held on the campus of the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) near Shepherdstown, in conjunction with the Center’s 2012 open house. To register, and for more information, go to the race website at www.raceforthebirds.org. Or contact the race directors, James and Suzy Munnis, at jmunnis@earthlink.net or 304-876-6784. As before, the Race for the Birds will include two professionally timed races—one 4.9 miles long and another 7.7 miles long. There will also be a self-timed 2-mile community jog/walk for families and individuals who prefer a slower pace, and a 1-mile “Fun Run” for children under 10 years of age. The 4.9- and 7.7-mile races will follow trails that wind through the forests and fields of the 538-acre NCTC campus. The 2-mile jog/walk will follow a course that will be very user-friendly for families with small children, and trail-friendly baby joggers will be appropriate and encouraged. The trails on the NCTC campus are not normally open to the general public so this will be a good opportunity to visit and enjoy the facility’s beautiful trail network. The two races will begin at 9:00 a.m. The jog/walk will begin shortly afterwards and the children’s Fun Run will be held at about 10:45 a.m. The children’s Fun Run will be free. Fees for the other portions of the event will range from $15 to $25. All proceeds will be used to support PVAS’s programs for children, and all fees will be tax deductible.
I was as accurate as I could remember as the events were occurring, if anyone disagrees with how it transpired please feel free to correct my account. My jaw was hanging open and I was flabbergasted!
Have been on the phone talking with Laurel. Now off to prepare dinner. Thinking of chili and cornbread. Not a whole lot of rain yet, but lots of thunder.
OMG...can't believe that we are having this unwanted/unneeded trouble. Great pics all......it is a really scruffy eagle. So glad that Shep stood his ground and fought it off. Nope, please...NO drama.
Sissy, good to see you. Don't be such a stranger!!
Sharon, how far is Nila's sister's house from yours? Hope the hospice nurse teaches them the proper way to transfer. DON'T hurt your back!!
DEAR GOD!!! Thank you for the reliable and accurate information of the events today at the nest. Job well done DANAMO and PAULA, thank you for the picture, also SHIRLEY. I felt confident that that which I was reading is what was happening...My thoughts are one of Liberty and Belle's off springs...it did not have the feel of the intruder from last year's episode...an offspring will be chased off easier is my hope...
Thank you again for no speculation and for reporting that which you were seeing...
SWEET PEA CALLED me and told me about the intruder. I tried to get on the live cam, but coulden't. When I finally did, all 3 eales were gone. Paula said she thought it might be a female...I sure hope Shep doesn't find her more desirable than Belle!
Soup Kitchen was full this evening...56 guests. So many goodies in the Clothes Closet (donated by LORI & KATE), bags and bags of clothes and toiletries were scooped up by our ladies and gents!
MENU: BEAN SOUP BAKED HAM SLICES CORN BREAD FRUIT SALAD FRESH BAKED BROWNIES DRINKS
I have been summoned to the hospital at 6:30 tomorrow morning which probably means surgery will take place at 7:30 or 8:00am...I want COFFEE as soon as I wake up!:)
Over on FB: Once upon a time we had our littlest eaglet. She can to our gatherings and helped out at raffles and even sang to us at dinners... Mattie Jane Kessler! Her Aunt Sissy told us that Mattie got all A's and 1 B on her report card!!!! Way to go Mattie!!! We are happy to know you!
Wanda, I am happy to see that you are home already. Some soup kitchen nights you seem to come on quite late. You need your Beauty Sleep tonight! Did you need some of our WAX for your legs????????? Love you and know you will do fine. ♥
Thanks to all for posting pics of the "situation" earlier...I was watching also, and cam went all circly just before the Stranger was knocked out of the nest.. good reporting, of a not so good event
JO, I left the church and activities, early. Went in and got clothes hung up and toiletries placed in containers, swept the floor, then came home. Needed to wash my hair, take nail polish off fingers and toes, finish packing my bag and put clean sheets on the guest bed, where I wil make my home for the next month or two. Gene even bought me a new mattress, as the one on the guest bed is very old and not very comfortable~
I missed your earlier post, Wanda about your preparations at home...sounds very well-thought out... hope you can see out into the wildlife from that guest bedroom
Yay on Gene, new mattress, he takes good care of his Tiger...
Wanda, we will be thinking of you in the morning. Lifting you up in prayer! Just remember to be patient with your therapy!!! All will be great, but give it time! Loads of love and hugs!!!
Wanda, so glad you are all set to go!! Your positive attitude will make it a breeze! How long do you expect to be in the hospital?? Prayers are going big time for our famous Costume Lady!!!!!
Thanks, Margy---no, not feeling any better. :( But thanks for asking.
LOLLY, I probably shouldn't tell this, it sounds so vain...but, when I had my Gall Bladder surgery, I took my polish off the toes...brought the polish in my suitcase...and that evening, had Denise to paint my toes again! I do not have pretty feet, polish seems to help, just like lipstick helps the face:) LOL
MARGY said that LYNN's transport was late again today...I went back but did not see LYNN's post...What matters to me is: LYNN did you get the treatment today or was it cancelled because of the delay? I hope it went through and that it was just the inconvenience of the tardiness.
My doctor's appointment today was an hour late!!! Something must be in the air. The city is CRAZY!!! All four ambulances were out on call, the fire trucks were all over the place and the City police could not keep up and had to call on the RCMP to do city police work...I saw their cruisers out doing police work within city limits!!! OH MY!!! SNOWING like there is no tomorrow and shut in also...so when it came my turn to be held up for an hour I simply sat and prayed for the extra hour...I was in the best company with my prayers...
SHARON I am touched by how very helpful you are to Nila and her family. God Bless your heart SHARON.
I need to eat something but everything is so topsy turvey that I am not clear as to what I want to eat...I havemy protein already prepared from last night's salmon...I will get a cup fo tea first...this usually clears my brain and I settle with the goings on...
Only 12 tickets left to sell for the Children's Craft and Tea Party. The announcement will make it on TV tonight and for the next two weeks so we should be sold out completely in a short period of time. This makes me feel good and then maybe I could start baking for the little munchkins' event...
Because they are having the walk/run. That brings a lot of people to campus. I am wondering if they will not have the usual spread of events. Or maybe they are having that then to attract more people?
I have never in my whole life painted my toenails!
Wanda, I posted on your FB wall, but again, prayers for your surgery tomorrow! One of my coworkers hubby just had on in the beginning of December and he is doing really well! Impatient with PT though!

At least most of us are finding each other, Jo ☺
Thank for the new thread, Steve even

Any amount of help has to be welcomed
Now that I am successfully here and the nest is MT - I am taking a quick break!
Hold down the fort, Margy! ♥
..oh dear, Jo...I was just about to prop my feet up....
but I'll be watching the nest from my perch....
Thanks to you, and also to Lynn last night, for this post about Tori and the Fundraising...
I'm back. Had a good nap. Now gotta call the hospital and see how my SIL is doing. She had a knee replacement this morning.
okay Red...then you come back and hold down the fort....
hope you find that SIL is doing, Super !
Thank you Steve!!
I had parked my van a couple of weeks ago because it needed brakes and I couldn't afford it yet. Got it fixed today and it was $99.62 for brakes and one rotor. Yay, van is back!
So a young lady who lives in DC now received Taitlyn's liver. She said she is overwhelmed at the amount of love she has received from WV.
Thank you, Steve, for the new thread.
I'm not getting the older/oldest, newer/newest thing either. Hmmm!
Will post this and see what happens...
Sharon, glad to hear you've got your van back in working order!
Shirley, hope Hunter feels better soon. Cartoons in Mom's bed sounds like perfection!
But do we get the older/oldest, newer/newest on the first 200 posts?
Hi, Red,
Prayers for your SIL's rapid recovery!
New thread has the same problemo.....argh!
Not a good day. Transport never showed up til 1---so I was 30 mins late for my apptmt. Then had to get bloodwork done. It was 3 before I got home. :(
And then vesuvius erupted......feel better now. But heading for sofa in a few.
Shirley, hope Hunter is okay. Your kids and grandkids with easily available grandma's were lucky! My Mom lived nowhere near, and the other one refused to do anything like that!! And now they don't need Grandma much!!! Since Charlie is almost always available, he manages those little emergencies.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your SIL, Red.
Since this is the first page of this thread, there IS no older/newer. After we split, then it will show---we hope!
The last thread still says 200. I had to post to read the blog. So, it is NOT fixed.
Hope all goes well with your cataract issues, Lolly. Mary from the bowling team came back today after getting a cataract removed. She is seeing much better. She talked about how she was seeing lines on the TV that she had never noticed before. It seems they have been there for a long time.
Also, the first 200 does not have the blue links to newest. Time will tell.
Thanks, Shirley. Just do not want to have the problems I had last time. That was a mess! I am anxious to have it done as I really need new glasses. Can't see through these as they have fine scratches. Been wearing them for several years.
Just saw the cam shake 0 think we have an eagle in the tree.
Just went to NBG cam. That is certainly a pretty view. Ready to see the eagles!
Haven't watched Alcatraz.
This does not look good folks!!
Shep just looked like he was pushing this eagle (Belle???) out of the nest. He sat on the rail and almost "kicked" at her? Look at the head, what is going on??? Someone with knowledge please be on here
WHO IS THAT??? That is NOT Shep or Belle?????
Shirley! What IS this????
No but Shep was just there and they had a brief encounter then Shep flew off
Tail and head have lots of marks.
We have a very young eagle in the nest. Lots of black feathers on the tail and head. This is not good!
He watched this eagle come in then pushed at it, then tried to "kick" it for lack of a better word, then he flew off.
even the beak looks different. Someone take a picture. I don't know if I know how....
I got a picture. Will post after we see what happens. We were "walking" and I was watching NBG and our nest. Saw two at NBG and this one flew in. Missed seeing Shep. Oh, do NOT want drama!!
Oh, go away eagle!!!!
Got a couple of pics.
Moving the furniture. Belle will not like this!
I am sitting here with my mouth hanging open in disbelief!
I got a couple, too, Shirley.
OMG something is going to happen. Look how this eagle is looking around and crouching.
Same here, DanaMo. Look at the nerve of that bird....nestled down in the egg cup. Oh I have lost the cam.
Loud protests!!!!!!
I lost it too, but it refreshed.
Did you see the two take off! OMGosh
Fight?
Whoa, one of our eagles just attacked the intruder and knocked it out of the nest!
Well, someone just chased it off! Please, please may Belle and Shepo be okay!
Paula, glad you are here to witness this. I could just cry...do not want drama! I always wonder if it is one our babies from 5 years ago.
Hi Paula.
Noise on the cam
Hear someone near the cam.
Please show whoever you are!!!
I tuned in to see the furniture and fluff moving..got pics, def not Belle.
Loud clunk.
Wow how exciting to catch seeing them
Sounds like an eagle landed back in the tree.
It's the time of year, folks.
The eagle in the nest was definitely watching the other fly around. It was crouched low and looking up and all around as if it was following another eagle.
Night lite is on...more tree shaking
Must feed my critters and check on Hunter. Will keep an eye out. Now we have the night light.
Did you hear the protests that were being made. Loud and clear, I had the volume up high.
I heard the crying out before our eagle landed in the nest to remove the intruder.
Did not hear anything. Have increased volume. Glad you guys are here, I have to take care of stuff here.
I was on the lap top in the kitchen and had no sound. Thought the eagle in the nest looked "funny." Then, just as another eagle flew in, the cam froze for me!!
I am on my laptop and did not hear anything.
Belle or Shep?
BELLE?
Belle in the nest!
Moving sticks back....and now Shep
OK, here are our 2!
okay I think this is Belle and shep
Whew!!
Still looking up and around though.
Normal beaking
I am so loving this!! Last time I was here, it was just the still cam.
Both our birds! Yea!
I have loaded two pics of the intruder to the album.
They are watching something and picking at the nest.
Looks like Belle and Shep to me. They seem pretty calm.
Do not beaker! Unite against the intruder!
Karla, You'll get addicted SO fast! =)
It was actually Shep that was squawking earlier when the other eagle was there.
Beakering over stick placement!
Tension is high I think. Fighting over that branch for sure!
She WILL get her way!
Major arument over a stick. LOL
DMO, glad to hear Shep was defending HIS nest - another good sign!
One of them is going to get knocked out with this stick!!!
He is really trying to be a help! How cute is that?
He wouldn't move from the 11 spot so she could replace that huge stick, she tried pushing him out of the way but he wouldn't budge.
She took it to the 6 spot....
Now he's trying to help her...oh she's got it back at the 11....this is too funny!
Home from work to find EAGLES and a new thread BUSY aren't they LOve the big sitck I am recording the fight of it
Yes, I was glad to see it too Sandi.
If we are going to have problems I'm not sure I should turn it on at school... :(
I had to sign in to blogger odd
need to check the box
Trying to post with
Annie between me and the keyboard. Now she is sitting on my right arm...purring.
Yes, I think tension is high...that is major disagreement.
They DO seem pretty "business as usual" now.
they sure seem to be in a hurry maybe they know something we don't know LOL EGG
poof one
Watching the intruder? Puff Belle!
Let's hope it was just someone passing through and he/she got the message. If Belle/Shep feel there is a threat, they may stick very close to the nest tonight.
POOF Two
Poof Shep!
I did post my two pictures of the intruder in the Momster album.
I put my intruder pics in the album, too. You can see the dark tail pretty good. I would guess that was a female.
OH, if you look at the intruder pics, you will notice the eagle has a VERY full crop!
Geese?
JudyE you missed it, we had an intruder in the nest.
Darn, I missed all the excitment. Gonna have to quit playing games. haha
Hi, just checking in....read back about 3 posts....INTRUDER????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....
Lolly was nice in her picture comments, she called the eagle a "stranger"
I like Lolly's wording - I don't want to hear the word "intruder" associated with this nest again this year!!
LOL That was just the first word that came to me.
Hi Lynne! My sentiments...Nooooooooooooo!
I posted the pictures I took in my picture blog.
I said "unwanted guest" LOL!
okay a serious question though; Where do they go at night?
Many times they sleep in the nest tree or other near by trees.
Such excitement. Back and forth between blog, cam and fixing dinner. I even took the laptop into the kitchen!!
I have been known to take my laptop to the kitchen and the bathroom.
I think I'll have to draw the line at the bathroom. LOL
****NO TRESPASSERS****
When I got here two eagles where in the nest both our eagles????
Good evening.
Nila update: She is at her sister's house. I helped them get her in the bed from the potty chair. Those girls need a little training I am afraid. :) Hospice is there getting all the information. I have to add a goal page to the IEP I wrote over the weekend so I'll be in LM, but I think I'll leave the cam running this evening. I usually turn it off after dark since there's no action, but ...
JudyE-check your email.
Maybe it was Spunky!
Okay, no drama allowed for heaven's sake!
Wow!! Reading through those comments got my heart pumping. I agree with everyone....
Nooooooo We don't want drama this year!! We want a healthy happy season!!
I will have to check out the pictures later. Have small group here tonight, so I have to run.
Sharon - Special prayers for Nila. Glad she isn't in a hospital setting and can be with family at her sister's home.
So happy to see our Sweet Pea keeping up with the Eagle activity!! It's fun to watch and fun to have you here.

Good evening everyone! Jumping on to tell you all I love you dearly and I am gonna make a conscious effort to get over here and tell you that more often!

Have been on the phone talking with Laurel. Now off to prepare dinner. Thinking of chili and cornbread. Not a whole lot of rain yet, but lots of thunder.
Lynn, if you keep scrolling down Taitlyn's page, you will see a post by Nefeterius Akeli McPherson. She is the recipient.
OMG...can't believe that we are having this unwanted/unneeded trouble. Great pics all......it is a really scruffy eagle. So glad that Shep stood his ground and fought it off. Nope, please...NO drama.
Sissy, good to see you. Don't be such a stranger!!

Falcon Wire News
I am thankful I didn't see that young
intruder. My heart gets very sad just
thinking about the commotion from last
year.
Sandi: There are 230 more prisoners to be caught on Alcatraz - lots of stories there.
LOLLY thank you for your comments and stranger in the nest photos...
Maybe it was Spunky comming back to sleep in his old bed LOL Lets hope that's all it was
gonna go get a shower before any tv starts BBL LM
SHIRLEY you said you had a couple of pictures of the episode this afternoon, evening...where did you post them.

Thanks to all for posting pics of the "situation" earlier...I was watching also, and cam went all circly just before the Stranger was knocked out of the nest..
good reporting, of a not so good event
Thanks...Race for the Birds same day as Open House Day, going to be right busy at NCTC - hmmm
You did good DanaMo but I know you are already at dinner with your friend.....
Lynn
sorry to read of yet another tardiness on the part of the transportation driver...what gives ????
Hope Mt. Vesuvius has settle down now...and that you feel better....just a few more days of this madness....

Oh, yes, Margy...no nail polish, no make up, ugly clothes, bare feet, don't shave legs (but scrub the heck out of the right leg-3 to 5 minutes)LOL
I understand, pretty much completely, Wanda ☺
Remember Pals....
Even if you don't see "newer" and "older" lines at bottom of blog page,
at 200 we'll most likely SPLIT ..
so
type in a comment, and publish, and you should end up back in sequence...then don't clost out of the page...

Wanda, we will be thinking of you in the morning. Lifting you up in prayer! Just remember to be patient with your therapy!!! All will be great, but give it time! Loads of love and hugs!!!
WHAT??? No polish on the tootsies? What is this world coming to???? LOL
I just have to say IT IS RAINING HARD!!!! Hoping the lakes fill by leaps and bounds!!
Wanda, so glad you are all set to go!! Your positive attitude will make it a breeze! How long do you expect to be in the hospital?? Prayers are going big time for our famous Costume Lady!!!!!
Thanks, Margy---no, not feeling any better. :( But thanks for asking.
LOLLY, as I was taking the polish off of my toes, I smiled the whole time, thinking of you! LOL
LYNN, I am hoping I can come home on Friday, we shall see.
Wanda, best of luck! We will be thinking about you!
Finally home after running errands after work...gotta eat!
I have a feeling that the Open House will be quite different this year...
Lynn, I will be so happy for you when your treatments are over, no more icky stomach!
Yes, PAULA, Open House will be very different this year. There will be a CRAZY MOMSTER running and jumping all over the place!
In what way do you think it will be so different?
I think when I talked to Steve about it, he said they were redoing the whole thing....at the time I was telling him that we wanted a table.
I'm going to split
Oh, I hope it doesn't change too much...want our newbies to experience all the fun and exhibits that we have always enjoyed!
