Good Morning and many thanks to Steve for the fresh thread and to Wanda for the call over ! Very timely as I'd just finished my post catch up.
Enjoyed all videos, links, chat in general ! So good to know NX is back in safe hands for rehab ! Thrilled with Lynne's news of "raise and praise" ! Glad Lori's puter probs are about to be solved and that her mom, Nancy, will be visiting today ! Glad she can use the Cat House !!!;o) Prayer efforts doubled for Linda and mom, Suzan and all who've expressed needs !
Still not caught up but thought after yesterday's activities I'd see some eagle action ... then Lynn or Margie lowered the 'boom.' Hunting at NCTC? Bummer!
Now, back to reading. HAGD

I use a Dell as a desktop but I must tell ya, I love my HP netbook. Used to have an HP desktop (still do, but not using) and had to get it fixed. I got a bent disk caught in a drive. Dummy me!
Thanks for the new thread STEVE! Have a greet weekend!
Good Morning Kay! Expecting arrival within 30 minutes or so, so...I'd better pick up a few things and sweep off the deck. Last of the leaves that keep blowing around always seem to make it onto the deck.
Diann, wonderful to hear from you. Hope you are feeling great with your newly repaired knee!
Congrats Lynne on that nice raise you got! Go, go girl! That's nice that they appreciate you. :)
I did post pictures late last night on a blog for our Colorado Thanksgiving.
Hoda, so sweet of you to notice Joseph's caring of his younger brother and cousin. He does have his moments with his brother...he is a normal kid. However, he is very mature for his age and at 11 we can see that he is going to be a fantastic person...very loving and kind. I am so proud of him. He is a "rule follower" and Laurel has had to talk with him about this. It was getting him in trouble with his friends at school. lol
Cute story in Colorado. Joey was outside talking with the handyman caretaker of the lodge when the two boys had a yelling disagreement. Joey had a stern talk with both boys. The next day Butch, the handyman arrived again. Joseph put his arm around Jacob and said, we have to go apologize to him. And, off they went to Butch and apologized for their behavior the day before.
More gunfire!! Yuck! Wish it could be a wildlife sanctuary!!!
My avatar is a picture of an ornament that Rus made in elementary school. I think he was in 4th grade. He and his classmates have discussed these ornaments on FB. Several of them still have the ornaments. Very fragile. Made in an eggshell.
Oh, my. I've written of the 9/11 Memorial visit so many times and am bending all available ears about it, too. Had no idea I hadn't mentioned it here. It was truly the highlight of the outings we enjoyed last week. Went in via Staten Island Ferry and walked to the site in high wind and light rain--took temp way down with wind chill factor. No cabs available. Arg and unreal for NYC ! We were in the 4:20pm group of hundreds of people--went through at least five security checks of ticket and id. At the four mark we went through airport like screening and then just had one more to go before entering the Memorial grounds. It was a profound and emotional, tear shedding experience to see the beautiful fountains in the footprints of the towers. The water spilling over and down into a dark abyss, just as the towers seemed to do. Sob. Also choked up upon seeing the one lone tree that made it through the disaster, trunk charred, but alive and well. There are hundreds of similar trees now planted to form a lovely park around the fountains. There were workman what at will be the permanent museum site and at the towers. Cranes and construction activity all round. It will be years before it is a serene site for meditation and reflection, but see it if you get the chance ! Side note: people were taking pictures galore and so was dil's father. It seemed a bit incongruous for folks to stand in front of a fountain, smiling for the cameras. We automatically smile for cameras, even when in a sombre setting. We went from there to the nearby church where rescue workers went for food and rest. Then down to the waterfront for a wonderful dinner before going back to the ferry. Exhausting, but exhilerating at the same time. A blessed experience. Pardon the lenghy post, but then you all know I'm not known for being concise ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I have more house cleaning and straightening to do today. Also, some baking and cooking for tomorrow. We are heading to Laurel's right after church. Tomorrow is her 39th birthday. Laurel and I are going to an early movie and then I am providing dinner, rolled flank steak, and for dessert cherry cheesecake pie!
Kay, thanks for telling us about your experience. I am sure tears rolled. I remember my first time to see the Vietnam memorial wall. Tears rolled then too.
Jo, I am stressing less about Christmas. lol I have ordered gifts and they have shipped. For Ashley, Jack's sister, and my bro and sis have ordered culinary heat lamps. lol Wish I had one! Heat lamps to keep food warm...like pizza or food on a buffet.
Thanks, Kay, for telling us about your visit to the 9-11 memorial. We did not go there the weekend we were in New York, though we wanted to. It was when Hunter was in kindergarten, and I think we just weren't sure how to explain it to him at that young age.
We did visit the Vietnam memorial years ago, and it was very touching. I think of my brother, a Vietnam vet. Fortunately, he returned safely, but lost friends.
Diann, so good to "see" you here and posting as if you'd not had surgery such a short time ago. Prayers continue.
Sandi, I live in a highly populated area, but close to a river and woods. We see deer most every day in the neighborhood and I agree, they are beautiful animals. This herd has found an area where no hunting is allowed so continues to grow. Their enemies are cars, especially as they venture closer and closer to the major north-south street running through the city--only 3 blocks from my place. I hate to think of them being gunned down, but am so grateful for the hundreds of pounds of meat the Food Pantry's for the needy receive every year. The numbers of deer must be controlled and thankfully they provide a life line for so many !
Two cheeky jays enjoying the nest ! Guess that means our eagles are no where in sight. I can't see evidence of what was a deer leg. Someone ?
Interesting exchange earlier regarding nest size. According to NBG folks, the average eagle aerie is the size of a double bed and weighs about 8 or 900 pounds. Quite the engineering feat !
Time for me to dust, vac, dry a laundry load so going into LM. BBL
KAY , as to deer leg...look to railing section around three and four positin. The hoof is facing six. Right up against the railing...it looks like bone and hoof is what is left, no meat on the leg.
Diann, I have an HP desktop, too. Use it for some things, but have to say that I have been very pleased with my "cheap" Acer laptop.
Loretta, bet your afternoon will start hopping after that article for sure! Hope you get to see "your" eagles!
Waiting for Carolyn and the girls to come get my Christmas stuff out of the crawlspace. I did bring down a few things I could reach that did not require being on my knees!
ARGH---from upstairs, in the daylight, see lots of cobbies in the cathedral area over the living room. Will have Jess carry vacuum cleaner up and I'll hook up all my extension wands and vacuum them AND the ceiling fan while we're at it!
Lynne2 so happy for you about the raise. You certainly deserve it and glad they are showing you that.
Diann how nice to see you. Glad you are doing well enough to visit the blog.
Kay they was said beautifully. I see it through your words. Tears.... thank you for sharing how surreal it made you feel. That is how I thought it would feel.Thank You ^j^
Looks like I have to post a comment before any follow-up comments show up in my email inbox, am I right? Have been on the phone with security companies all AM. My mom lives alone in a 2-story house and, despite my begging, keeps putting off getting a security/medic alert system. Until Sept. she had a collie who would scare off any potential burglars. He died, and now I feel that she's a break-in waiting to happen! So, my husband and I have decided that buying the system and paying the monthly monitoring fee will be her Christmas gift. You know the saying, if you want something done ...
Thanks, Hoda ! I see the bones/hoof now. They sure did a number on that leg. Have to think they got so dirty working on the carcass and/or fending off other eager road kill seekers.
Kay, a very stirring story of your visit to Ground Zero. Christie was there several years ago when all you could do was gaze down in the hole through a chain link fence. She went alome---no one else in her group wanted to go. I worried about her safety AND her emotional reaction, but she did okay.
Thanks for posting the info about nests. I meant to respomd to DanaMo about that.....some nests can weigh a ton! Always worry about the trees being able to support such weight year after year.
Sandi, that's a great Christmas present for your mom ! As the widow of a locksmith/security advisor, be sure all windows are included in the system. Too many people take care of doors only and that doesn't do the job. Also recommend an alarm that sounds on the outside as well as the inside. You want neighbors to take note of something being amiss, not just relying on the alarm company and police. ♥♥♥
Lynn, I declined going to Ground Zero until the Memorial was almost complete. It had to be distressing to see that gaping hole. As I said, it will be years before the site is finished, but I don't have many years left so had to grab this opportunity.
Kay, I h ave pretty much been doing the on-again, off-again chore schedule for years! HAVE to do it that way---not enough wind to persist in some things for any longer than about 10 min. sometimes! I know Jo and Suzan can relate.
Sandi, that sounds like an excellent plan for your Mom. Does she live near you?
Carolyn and the girls are on their way and stopping to get subs for lunch. I ordered ham&cheese. THey should be here soon, so I will check in later.
Lynn, thanks for the reminder. I got so busy I forgot to have lunch ! Just had sliced turkey and cheese on pumpernickel along with my iced tea. Feel refreshed and ready to vac the last room. Big plane going over the nest now---what airport are these planes coming or going from ?
Enjoy the Christmas decorating LYNN and say high to your wonderful daughters.
JO I read that you are very pleased with your visit. Lucky lady you are such a terrific family. God's Blessings on you all.
I am ready to head out to see to the setting and arrangements for the Christmas Luncheon. They said they will take care of it all and I can just direct if it is needed.
I will miss the afternoon visit. I hope if they come you take pictures for the album.
Oh I had not heard a gun shot for a while and one just went off...maybe there will not be an evening visit...
Hoda, I can't imagine Belle and Shep hanging around with hunters so close. Those last few shots scared the pee waddin' out of me ! I don't know where they can go to escape the sound of shots if this is the last day of hunting season, as I believe someone here said. Fortunately they can get high above the action and I hope they do !!!
Hope all about the luncheon is to your satisfaction !
DanaWV, thanks for sharing the Sunshine and Sweetie saga. Hope they fare well and produce a wee panda that can survive. The stats are stacked against them, but it could happen !
Margy, have fun decorating ! Seth and I got my few decorations in place yesterday after school. Cleaning done today to Christmas music and now have candles glowing in preparation for his arrival and the usual Sat/Sun.. On the 16th or 17th I'll go to their house for dinner and tree decoration. We spend most of our holiday time there, so I've no need to get too carried away. I've always loved the holidays and now more than ever since I can be so laid back about it all !
I'm glad you mentioned the memorial. The last time I was in NYC it wasn't complete. I am going again this month and must remember to put that on my list of things to do!
DanaMo, be sure to make your reservation(s) on line before you go. There is a never ending stream of visitors and you're only allowed in with a reservation. Each person in the party had their own ticket with name imprinted and i.d. had to match---supposedly we each passed a background check prior to the visit. It's worth the effort. Take extra tissues along !
The gang has come and gone already. It's always like a cyclone (no offense, Shirley) has come through with a visit from the loud family, as in LOUD family; however, my nephew was much calmer this time so everyone was a little more relaxed. The treadmill and the cat chalet are gone, and my SIL said she wants my old desk, so that will leave soon, too! YAY - love getting rid of "stuff."
Kay, your candle avatar Just Shines and Shines.....makes it easy to find you ☺ also: THANKS FOR THE email ref PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION INFORMATION...I'll try to listen tonight.
guess Lynn's Roost is getting all bright and sparkly about now ☺
DanaMo, I've sent a couple of helpful 9/11 Memorial sites to your e-mail. I really don't know how far ahead is wise. Lee ordered them about two months ago. Guess he figured he could work up a party even if a couple of us couldn't make it. We did and I'm so glad !!!
Margy, your glowing words about my candle avatar reminded me to look at the candles we light for Lynn. The site says they stay lit for 48, but it's more like 24 hours.
Have been cleaning house while watching TCU football. They are ahead 42 to 6 and only in the 3rd quarter. Third year in a row to be conference champs and headed to yet another bowl game. Rif Ram! Go Frogs! Whoops now 49 to 6!!! I be very habby!!☺
It is 64 and has been raining most of the day. How about that??!!!!!
I am one whipped pup! And speaking of pup...she got too excited and piddled on the carpet....bad girl! Well, everything is either in place, or acceissible for me to get 'er done. Except for some minor placement throughout the evening, I am done until tomorrow. We had a good relay going. Jess got stuff out from under the eaves, I selected what needed to go downstairs, Jess handed it off to Jess halfway down the steps and she gave it to Carolyn who emptied boxes and then sent them back up in reverse. Worked well. Had to hold my breath with the fragile stuff----circular stairs are NOT easy to negotiate on!!! Tree NOT up, but the box is up from the basement.
Kay, there will still be more hunting on NCTC grounds. Special hunts outside of regular season from what I understand. Next Sat. is is shotgun again, and then muzzleloader on the 17th. Youth shotgun the 27th, which is a Tues. Not sure how that can be since it is a weekday---employees on site and kids in daycare.....maybe a misprint.
Back to cleaning bathrooms and doing laundry. Glad they decided to stop in for a little visit this evening once the shooting stopped! Have a good evening all!
Lynn, thanks for the heads up on future shootin' days. Ugh ! How sweet of the girls to help you get the decorations down, etc. ! Now you must get some good rest !
Time for me to turn on the oven--baked fish for both of us, fries for Seth and slaw for me. Very simple, but one of his favs.
Probably won't get back til' tomorrow. Have a great evening all.
okay, maybe hunting not quite over yet... but it's dark and it oughta be! maybe someone was just emptying out their shotgun shell... I know with Blackpowder, that has to be done...
I had texts with Sharon. Infection in her gums. She's pretty uncomfortable. On antibiotics, and can only take Tylenol for pain. :( Prayers for quick improvement for our Sharon!
Margy, two Bells things at church: 12/11 morning service and 12/18 evening Joy Gift service. Only playin gone piece each time...:( But on the 10th, there's going to be a huge Winchester Bell choir at the Baptist church in C-T, so we are going to it.
CBS 48 hrs. tonight 10pm Eastern is about a former local HS sport star who was murdered by her estranged husband a few years ago in VA. He was convicted. Murder
Thanks for the update on Sharon, Lynn Appreciate that, but sorry to hear of the discomfort....glad it is not a workday for here... Hope healing kicks in Pronto.... (( Hugs ♥ )) Sharon...xoxoxox
After a stuffed half-sub as a late lunch, I am not hungry at all. Think I'm going to head for the sofa for awhile...and then make it a soup night again! BBL. Need to then get busy making my name tags for Tues.! Just chair work at PC!
Well, guess you know by now...TCU won! Now to find out which bowl we will be going. Next year the Big 12. We will see what happens then. Go Frogs! (HODA....read your comment on fb to Jack! He said to tell you the mascot is really the "Horny Toads". Bless Jack!
An eight minute evening visit by both Belle and Shep...That is great and you all heard them on the tree so they must be staying close to home with all this shooting.
I can not bring up the nest on Outdoor Channel. I have not tried the still cam. The whole site does not come up for me. Anyone else having this problem?
Trivia.............................................What's a Horned Frog
The Horned Frog (actually a lizard) has been TCU's mascot longer than TCU has been the university's name. Four students helped make the decision in 1897, when AddRan Christian University (renamed TCU in 1902) was located in Waco. Here are some other facts about the horned frog, one of the country's most distinctive mascots:
The scientific name for this Texas reptile is Phrynosoma cornutum; in Greek, phrynos means "a toad" and soma means "body";in Latin, cornutus means "horned."
Their primary diet is red harvester ants; they'd like 80 to 100 a day. Unfortunately, red ants are falling victim to insecticides and to more aggressive fire ants in much of Texas.
The typical Horned Frog is three to five inches long.
Horned Frogs are cold-blooded animals and have an unusual pineal gland, resembling a "third eye" on the top of the head, which zoologists believe is part of their system of thermoregulation.
When angered or frightened, horned frogs can squirt a fine, four-foot stream of blood from their eyes.
The Horned Frog was named the State Reptile of Texas in 1992.
In stories of Native Americans in the Southwest, horned frogs are depicted as ancient, powerful and respected. Archaeologists find horned frogs on petroglyphs, pottery and other crafts painted hundreds of years before Columbus set sail for America. In some parts of Mexico, folklore persists that these creatures which weep tears of blood are sacred.
People seemed happy when they left and we had four extra people show up but we had four extra places set and all was indeed well...Now that it is over I would do it again next year.
Sandi...lots of herons here today...love them but they are very skittish here
Saw an eagle this morning too
Oh I travel thru Fairfield to get to John And Ajays hoouse...and my GF Debbie and her husband Buddy live there...still haven't heard when his kidney surgery is supposed to tke place
Jack and I are laughing about the Horned Toad. One time years ago, with friends, we found a horned toad. Dinah warned that it would "spit" blood. Jack and KB were laughing, when out came the blood. Does not spit blood, but it squirts from the eyes. As a child I played with horned toads. We were also commenting about how easy it is to answer a question on the internet.
Actually, little horned frogs are sorta cute! LOL As a child, captured and played with them. Now, you can not find them. Fort Worth Zoo has some. They are quite small.
When I was in college, I went to TX with a friend to visit her family. I brought home a Horned Toad....smuggled him on the plane in a box in my pocketbook! He lived for several years. Had to buy meal worms to feeds him as he did not like the crickets and worms that Freddie the regular toad ate. He NEVER had blood come from his eyes!
LOLLY, we had chili, also, for supper...this is the third day! I think I am ready for something else tomorrow:) Capt. Gene's chili is so very good. The folks at Soup Kitchen have been asking for him to make some again. Most everyone there likes chili and it is very filling.
LYNN, I guess you never aggravated your Horny Toad. That is a very interesting apparition. If Lolly hadn't seen it with her own eyes, I would be doubting the reality of that fact:)
Speaking of football....our Martinsburg High School Bull Dogs won the state AAA championship today! MARGY---are you reading this????? Congrats to your alma mater!
Mine too, Lynn. Bulldogs were undefeated the year I graduated and the year Denise graduated...and many years since. Coach Walker was there when Denise was still a student....Mr. Coburn was the coach when I was there.
Thanks LYNN. The next one is Tuesday and Then Wednesday. I am not in charge of organising any thing in these two events.Next Sunday there is a Choral Reictal and the 17th There is Christmas Carolling at the Library, the 18 th there is a fund raiser for the food cupboard a barber shop harmonising presentation.I think the month is too busy. Christmas week slwos down a bit THANK GOD and I would like to go to the Library for some good books to read and some videos. I like reflection time over Christmas.
I look forward to hearing how your event will go on Tuesday LYNN. Today you said you were going to do name tags. Did you have a chance to work on them? It seemed like a full busy day at your roost. I am sorry LIESL had an accident because she was so excited...Bless her little heart.
Forgot to answer a question someone asked much earlier. The nest is in the flight path of planes heading to DC's Reagan Airport, and sometimes Dulles, too, from the north and west.
Did your locker have a lot of dents in it? Have you ever heard Gene tell the story of the young fella who used to trip me every day and make all my books go flying? Well, Gene caught him doing it one day and grabbed him by the collar and threw him into my locker~ I don't know how he got out, I was so embarrased that I left the scene!
Bulldogs and Gene's Beans - now, that's a great night!
Geez Hoda...you are booked solid this month. I don't like being that busy with appointments, etc., either. So much nicer to be slow and enjoy this time of year.
To further educate you...(lol)..................Horned lizards use a wide variety of means to avoid predation. Their coloration generally serves as camouflage. When threatened, their first defense is to remain still to avoid detection. If approached too closely, they generally run in short bursts and stop abruptly to confuse the predator's visual acuity. If this fails, they puff up their body to cause it to look more horny, making it appear larger and more difficult to swallow. At least four species are also able to squirt an aimed stream of blood (see Autohaemorrhaging) from the corners of the eyes for a distance of up to five feet.[1][2][3] They do this by restricting the blood flow leaving the head, thereby increasing blood pressure and rupturing tiny vessels around the eyelids. This not only confuses predators, but also the blood tastes foul to canine and feline predators. It appears to have no effect against predatory birds. To avoid being picked up by the head or neck, a horned lizards ducks or elevates its head and orient its cranial horns straight up, or back. If a predator tries to take it by the body, the lizard drives that side of its body down into the ground so the predator cannot easily get its lower jaw underneath the lizard.
Home from Mass - dinner finished - reading your comments! Hoda - happy for you to have done such a great job on the get-together! Lynn - You're an pro at labels - Guess what tonight as we entered Mass - they hand us labels for our name so when the Peace Be With You began we could see the names of those near us. I asked Fr Rob why didn't he had his name tag on???
I need to find the initiative to get some things accomplished here...Wish me luck....
Liesl just had her rip-tearing runs through the house. What a spurt of energy!!! Luckily she did not collide with the tree box in the dark sunroom---good senses!!!! Guess she is probably close to wanting her bedtime routine. What a spoiled baby she is.
Good Evening Eagle Buds! Finally got back to blog and added some recent pics--some blurry, some not. (It is what it is! ☺)
We had quite a few visitors. I found out the article about the Park was published in The Wash. Post Weekend section. Hope they have fun tomorrow!Supposed to be a little warmer. No sign of tundra swans yet, but never too late.
For those aware of nephew Ben's issues, thought I would provide an update.
He's going for observation Dec. 19 & 20th and then returning again on the 26th, unless his mother doesn't like what she hears on the 19th & 20th. Previous specialists (& there have been several) have implied some of his behavior problems are parenting skills or lack thereof.

Much rain here, still no snow in our part of Wisconsin - how can that be :o(
CAROLANNE...It is difficult to go to specialist...I experience it as a sense of loss of control...I stay with it and trust my experience and between my experiences and their speciality we can come to a truth. I used to let go of my experience and therefore not speak with clarity and conviction.
LOLLY has RAIN...YEAY...
I forgot to tell you that our luncheon raised 150 dollars for the Christmas Food Cupboard.I felt grateful about that...
Going to try & watch that 48 hour show. If I konk, (very likely) have a great evening & Pleasant Feather Dreams;>) Congrats Lolly on TCU!! and RAIN!!!'ll have to find out if Austin is getting theirs! Also I love horned toads! We had one in our high school biology lab where I worked before & after school for 6 years. He never got disturbed enough to spit from the eyes. We fed him meal worms.
I think of you when I drive by (everyday on the way to work..) the Water Works place where your and Doris's grandson Steve works...unless he has been lucky enough to retire by now !!
Hope I have all that right... sometimes my memory fails me.... xox ♥ come back before or during the Holidays...so we can clobber you and Doris with Christmas wishes....

Hoda, we will be doing the gift game on Thursday. It is always so much fun. We bring $5 Christmas ornaments as gifts.
DanaMo....."flugg" is what we call the fluff because I made a typo one time. lol
My typos have added several words to the momster dictionary.
Hoda, oh my, you were up early this morn. I see a nap in your future!
Got caught on the other side...
Brought over my last posts just in case.
Good morning Wanda, Lori, Hoda, Shirley, Kay and others I may have missed. It's a sunshiny day.
Now must go get something to eat.

LOLLY, I hope I do not take my nap in the middle of the Christmas Party!!! LOL !!! The 80 year olds would not be impressed!!!LOL!!!
I did post pictures late last night on a blog for our Colorado Thanksgiving.

I put a picture of the gutsy little blue jay on my blog. Tried to use an exclamation mark in the post and got reminded that they are not allowed.
I really need to get busy! See ya later!
Kay, I understand about what you said about Christmas cards, but I do wish you were on our list so we could have your address and phone number.
JOSEPH is a real Prince LOLLY...
THANK YOU KAY for writing about the Ground Zero experience. I appreciate your sharing.
Blue Jay is back on the railing and goes in and out of the picture frame I see him flitting about...
Lolly, happy birthday to your Laurel--sounds like a great day ahead for all of you ! Check your e-mail, please. ☺
Two Blue Jays in the nest...make that three
So peaceful to hear bird song after the riffle shooting earlier.
Good Morning Friends ( :
Need to read some comments for today.
Excellent narrative of your visit to the 9/11 Memorial, Kay...
would be hard to make a short post on that kind of experience...
Hello again eagle Pals, just passing through....
It's really nice outside, in this part of the country...
ox ♥
Shirley
Great picture of the Blue Jay...in the nest...I have missed seeing it "for real"
GREAT pictures of the Colorado Thanksgiving, Lolly....
okay, back to work for me
xoxo
Lolly tell Lauel Happy Birthday please.
SANDI very practical Christmas present.
I do not get emails sent to me about the posts, but from what I understand you should be able to get them every time someone posts something...
Laundry time...bbl
Back to the vac--the doc told me, "when doing heavier chores, work 20 minutes and rest 20, work 20, rest 20 til' job is done". It works !
I do have my company - Aaron
we just had lunch and lots of talk. I
love it!
Lots going on today from Cobweb dusting to decorating to family company -
I'll be back after Aaron leaves...
Oh I had not heard a gun shot for a while and one just went off...maybe there will not be an evening visit...
dated Nov 21, 1011 Headed for Edinburg Zoo
HEADING FOR SCOTLAND
What China Thinks Is Happening To The Wild Pandas
Hoda, I can't imagine Belle and Shep hanging around with hunters so close. Those last few shots scared the pee waddin' out of me ! I don't know where they can go to escape the sound of shots if this is the last day of hunting season, as I believe someone here said. Fortunately they can get high above the action and I hope they do !!!
Hope all about the luncheon is to your satisfaction !
DanaWV, thanks for sharing the Sunshine and Sweetie saga. Hope they fare well and produce a wee panda that can survive. The stats are stacked against them, but it could happen !
I might not get to much decorating at home, but am getting one of my homes away from home gussied up....
at work!
Continue enjoying your afternoons....Ladies and Gentlemen....
xoxoxo ♥
How far ahead of time do I have to get the tickets?
The gang has come and gone already. It's always like a cyclone (no offense, Shirley) has come through with a visit from the loud family, as in LOUD family; however, my nephew was much calmer this time so everyone was a little more relaxed. The treadmill and the cat chalet are gone, and my SIL said she wants my old desk, so that will leave soon, too! YAY - love getting rid of "stuff."
Had to change my avatar. Clarice just isn't me.
L♥ve it Lori...
Kay, your candle avatar Just Shines and Shines.....makes it easy to find you ☺
also: THANKS FOR THE email ref PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION INFORMATION...I'll try to listen tonight.
guess Lynn's Roost is getting all bright and sparkly about now ☺
time to leave soon, evening shift showing up....
ttfn xoxoxo ♥
See you later on....
Yikes the gun shots are still ringing out.
LOL, Lori ! Sounds like a whirlwind visit, but a good one. Nice to have loved ones to give unneeded, unused or unwanted stuff to.
Margy, your glowing words about my candle avatar reminded me to look at the candles we light for Lynn. The site says they stay lit for 48, but it's more like 24 hours.
Putting my shoes on and heading out the
door - Off to Mass I go...
Prayers for all to be said...
BBILW
Have been cleaning house while watching TCU football. They are ahead 42 to 6 and only in the 3rd quarter. Third year in a row to be conference champs and headed to yet another bowl game. Rif Ram! Go Frogs! Whoops now 49 to 6!!! I be very habby!!☺
It is 64 and has been raining most of the day. How about that??!!!!!
And, in answer to a question...I do collect Santas. Actually, I collected Santas. I am really not adding to my hundreds anymore.
Back to work!
Good reminder! LOLLY, I looked at your picture of your tree - OMG! Your tree and your living room are gorgeous! What a beautiful setting.
clunking on the cam!
I hear someone on the cam!
BELLE!
Woohoo!!
Eagle, I think Belle!
Wonder what you use to clean feathers? lol
Two!
Guess WHO ELSE WAS UP ON THE CAM?
BOTH HOPPED DOWN TO THE NEST FROM THE CAM. BELLE FIRST, THEN SHEP.
Ha, such a big nest and he has to zero in on her space ! LOL
Just looking around.
Shep is rearranging the furniture.
Now Belle took a twig from Shep and she is placing it.
Right on, Belle, that's showin' him where that limb should go !
Howdy all
Sorry I haven't checked in today...been enjoying the day outside...gotta catch up
Belle poofed. Shep poofed!
She poofs and he follows in short order
BELLE POOFS FIRST FROM 3...THEN SHEP AT 12 - 1.
Hi Paula! Hope you are having a great time.
Lovely to spend the evening with you ladies, and both the eagles!
TCU 56 to 9!
Nice to see you, too, Lori!
About the same direction they flew out from yesterday....away from the NCTC buildings....maybe towards the river if they circle around a little
Nice Visit !!
Boy that tree was shaking' before the alighted into the nest wasn't it !
Good Evening Eagle-Watching Pals..
xox
Well, guess that was our visit for this evening. Back to work! Cleaning the kitchen now...can still see the TV and game!
So glad they checked in...on their little Roost....
before total nightfall....
bet we hear some geese soon too, I'm not so sure, but the Eagles might give them a little chase when they fly too close...
I'm also surprised...we did not hear a couple of post sunset gunshots
Back to cleaning bathrooms and doing laundry. Glad they decided to stop in for a little visit this evening once the shooting stopped! Have a good evening all!
Lynn, thanks for the heads up on future shootin' days. Ugh ! How sweet of the girls to help you get the decorations down, etc. ! Now you must get some good rest !
Time for me to turn on the oven--baked fish for both of us, fries for Seth and slaw for me. Very simple, but one of his favs.
Probably won't get back til' tomorrow. Have a great evening all.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Good to see you Paula... hope your weather beach-side was as nice as ours was here...in Eastern Panhandle West Virginia...
xo
Tootle-loo Kay, Enjoy your evening !
Sounds like good a very good relay system, Lynn !

Hope you have a fun and fabulous time with Seth, Kay! See you tomorrow. (((Big Hug)))

I know how much you enjoy that!
Lolly, that's not a game, it's a massacre !!!!!!
Hi Paula, bye Paula, glad you've had a good outdoor day in Paradise !
We haven't seen Sharon today!
Would like to know how her doctor's appointment went on Friday....
Here, Sharon, Sharon, Sharon....

if you saw the Eagles, I guess So !
Lolly, DAWN is used on oiky bird!
Want to bring some to the nest??
okay, maybe hunting not quite over yet...
but it's dark and it oughta be!
maybe someone was just emptying out their shotgun shell...
I know with Blackpowder, that has to be done...
I see I popped in right in the middle of a visit!
Oiky Bird ??
OK !
Kay thanks for telling us about your 9/11 experience...very humbling and emotional
Well, actually, right at the TALE end of a 8-minute visit, Paula...

Bye, Kay! Enjoy your Seth and Malcolm night.
Lolly----GO FROGS! But, yeah, that is a massacre!
Hoping the skies clear for

Poor Sharon. That sounds painful. Prayers for a fast healing.
CBS 48 hrs. tonight 10pm Eastern is about a former local HS sport star who was murdered by her estranged husband a few years ago in VA. He was convicted.
Murder
Thanks for the update on Sharon, Lynn
Appreciate that, but sorry to hear of the discomfort....glad it is not a workday for here...
Hope healing kicks in Pronto....
(( Hugs ♥ )) Sharon...xoxoxox
Margy, router and stuff is a-ok now. No worries here. SET UP the newer model...you'll be so glad.
Yes, Lori!
I have two days off starting Monday - have a pile of stuff to do, but getting the computer things going is on the list !
At least, if I end up off-line for a few days....(which I doubt will happen) I can check things and people from work...
Lynn
I'll try to watch that show, thanks for the reminder...
right now, I need to kick some derriere and get a few other things done first.
Best Wishes for a Good Evening, folks....
ttfn xoxo ♥
Happy to see Diann was able to join us today
Maegy thanks for the offer but I'll be sleeping in!
LOL, Margy. You KNOW I meant OILY birds!!!!
Personally, I like oiky birds! LOL It made me giggle as have several comments.
The Christmas Party was GREAT. I much enjoyed it and there was lots of laughter and lots of food. We did not run out and the special needs meals were also available. Whe had five people who are wheat intolerant and they made little Canapés for them that were very tasty.
When angered or frightened, horned frogs can squirt a fine,
four-foot stream of blood from their eyes.
ROFL JACK!!!
Thanks for the write up LOLLY!!!
Now I can get the OC website alright...
Hoda, so great that it all went so perfectly - down to the last plate! You go, gurl! Cheers!
Lolly - tears of blood? Whoa! That's amazing. Who would have thought? Jack?
Lolly...squirt blood from the eyes? They sounfd sinister LOL
Glad you can get it now, Hoda.
We were also commenting about how easy it is to answer a question on the internet.
roflmbo....Paula, that is TCU!!!!
Oiky bird, also reminded me of Lynn's expression
Oinky Doink!
I liked it too...
I don't mind who types WHAT typos...as long as we SEE them here ☺
Kay will be proud of me, I am listening to Prairie Home Companion, same as she and Seth are ☺
I do NOT want to be in the firing range of an angered Horned Frog !
WVU Mountaineers are going to some sort of post-season Bowl Game also!
Bravo, Hoda,luncheon sounds perfect !
I'll watch ISS for you, Paula....
if the skies are clear...
okay back to my "homework"
ttfn xo ♥
I was watching a BLACK vulture soar high overhead of our workplace quarry hole today...
not an EAGLE but at times, I thought it might have been
Actually, little horned frogs are sorta cute! LOL
As a child, captured and played with them. Now, you can not find them. Fort Worth Zoo has some. They are quite small.
Paula, Where is your place at the beach??
Off to reheat chili from last night as well as the cornbread. Like suppers like this!
Missed the visit because I was napping.
DANA...you snooze, you lose:(
When I was in college, I went to TX with a friend to visit her family.
I think I am ready for something else tomorrow:)
Capt. Gene's chili is so very good. The folks at Soup Kitchen have been asking for him to make some again. Most everyone there likes chili and it is very filling.
Paula, tell Debbie she needs to keep her eyes to the skies now!!
Hoda, so glad all went well with your event!!!! I knew it would!!
You ladies have some interesting stories and facts that we probably would have never heard about if it wasn't for you...LOVE IT!
Hi Wanda !!! I think EVERYONE think the Captain Father Warden cooks!
and go, Bulldogs !!
the Martinsburg High School Team....
thanks Lynn
I'm trying to replace lights on my little perpetually lighte Wooden Christmas tree...
Mine too, Lynn. Bulldogs were undefeated the year I graduated and the year Denise graduated...and many years since. Coach Walker was there when Denise was still a student....Mr. Coburn was the coach when I was there.
Just think, Wanda...we walked down the same halls of academia...
might even had the same locker! Who Knows !!!
Go Bulldogs!!! FloBear couldn't be happier. ;)
Huh?? What did I mean to type:
"Hi Wanda !!! I think EVERYONE think the Captain Father Warden cooks!"
It SHOULD SAY:
Everyone thinks what Captain Father Warden Gene cooks is GREAT...
Have they had Gene's Beans Yet ???
Forgot to answer a question someone asked much earlier. The nest is in the flight path of planes heading to DC's Reagan Airport, and sometimes Dulles, too, from the north and west.
Did your locker have a lot of dents in it? Have you ever heard Gene tell the story of the young fella who used to trip me every day and make all my books go flying? Well, Gene caught him doing it one day and grabbed him by the collar and threw him into my locker~ I don't know how he got out, I was so embarrased that I left the scene!
Lori!
I was hoping you would see about the Bulldogs !! ☺
OH that is True Love, Wanda...I think you have told us, but keep telling it, I love it !!!
And oh Yes....the Military C-5 flies over the NCTC grounds sometimes too!!
That is magical ! Like a huge floating submarine.... ☺
My locker was upstairs near the back...close to the hallways, Wanda...wish I had known back in my days there go look for a dented locker !!
Must go see if my replacement bulbs are going to work...
back soon with a report ☺
Bulldogs and Gene's Beans - now, that's a great night!
Geez Hoda...you are booked solid this month. I don't like being that busy with appointments, etc., either. So much nicer to be slow and enjoy this time of year.
Oops, Wanda---forgot that you and Gene graduated from MHS, too---I guess DanaWV did, too.
Hoda, I am working on the tags now...slowly but surely!
We go back Tuesday to Laurel's. It is Joseph's orchestra night! Going to see my grandson play the cello. Whoopee!
Have a pie crust in the oven. Will get it out soon and while it is cooling make chimichurri sauce for tomorrows rolled flank steak.
Pssst! Shhhhhh! (It has been raining, really really raining at my house.)_ hee hee hee!
Lynn - You're an pro at labels - Guess
what tonight as we entered Mass - they hand us labels for our name so when the
Peace Be With You began we could see the names of those near us. I asked
Fr Rob why didn't he had his name tag
on???
I need to find the initiative to get some things accomplished here...Wish me luck....
Glad we had the visit in the nest... ♥
Sandi...I am near Crisfield MD...my friend has a place on a canal off of RehoBeth bay...think it is Long neck area...Mariners Cove
Had yummy oysters and quesadillas tonight
Going to relax in the recliner with a John Grisham book...I finished all of my Mary Higgins Clark books
Hoda sounds like a nice dinner and glad it went well!
Cute story from the Bear Center:
Lost and Found
Liesl just had her rip-tearing runs through the house. What a spurt of energy!!! Luckily she did not collide with the tree box in the dark sunroom---good senses!!!! Guess she is probably close to wanting her bedtime routine. What a spoiled baby she is.
Paula, glad you are getting some chill-time in!
I found a Hallmark movie and am watching it..
BBILW
Sweet dreams everyone! I'm up late and feeling it...so, it's time to hit the hay.
Prayers for Lynn, Linda and her mother, Diann and Sharon. Prayers too for Buddy. Thanks for mentioning him tonight, Paula.
See you early in the morning!

Evening all, enjoyed the nest visit comments.

Much rain here, still no snow in our part of Wisconsin - how can that be :o(
Prayers for all concerns, known & unknown.
Back to watching WI Badger game w/Bubby
CAROLANNE...It is difficult to go to specialist...I experience it as a sense of loss of control...I stay with it and trust my experience and between my experiences and their speciality we can come to a truth. I used to let go of my experience and therefore not speak with clarity and conviction.
LOLLY has RAIN...YEAY...
I forgot to tell you that our luncheon raised 150 dollars for the Christmas Food Cupboard.I felt grateful about that...
Liesl is asleep. Name tags are done. CBS is running late due to sports. So I am going to take my bath.
Hi ALL Just droped in to say HAY to every body it"s been along time.We are still kicking. I know alot has been going on at the nest. Time will tell.
Hi Crunch...yes a lot has been going on at the nest and Belle and Shep are doing well. I have not met you...how long have you been here?
I"am not on here much. Belonged about #3 years now I guess.
I see you are retired correctional officer.
What do you think time will reveal...?
Hi there, Crunch Bob!
Going to try & watch that 48 hour show.
If I konk, (very likely) have a great evening & Pleasant Feather Dreams;>)
Congrats Lolly on TCU!! and RAIN!!!'ll have to find out if Austin is getting theirs!
Also I love horned toads! We had one in our high school biology lab where I worked before & after school for 6 years. He never got disturbed enough to spit from the eyes. We fed him meal worms.
I think shep will learn. Belle will keep him strait. He is just slow learning the ropes.
Hi there NN. Well I think I"ll check some other web sites. I keep moving on here. ALL of you have a good one. BYE BYE

Pie is made for tomorrow, so is sauce for the flank steak. Have been giving myself a manicure while watching TV.
the next show of 48 hours is about to start...I think...the last one just ended....
I think of you when I drive by (everyday on the way to work..) the Water Works place where your and Doris's grandson Steve works...unless he has been lucky enough to retire by now !!
Hope I have all that right...
