Good Monday Morning Everyone Steve, thanks for the fresh thread and hoping your week goes well for you. Enjoy your day, Margy & Hello Jewels! This morning's thread was fun to read. This early morning group is quite entertaining. I see on FB that DanaMo needs an ELF on the Shelf. lol
I am about to head out - just to see my blood results. Wish he could give me a Pep booster shot! lol
Hedgie, you will be back after I leave - Praying and Praying and Praying. Do you hear me, Lord! Want a Christmas Miracle for my friend cause I love her much ♥
Hi all! Logged in as soon as I got to school this AM but Shep had already poofed. I'll be hanging out here at school from 3-4 when the b'ball game starts, so will check the nest and blog again then. Belle stopped by the nest with food around that time on Sat. so maybe I'll get lucky!
HEY BLOGGER OR GOOGLE I don't like the new look on our profile and they took away all of my follower that I had on there PIA big time I hope its just a oops
Wasn't successful with the video this am I went in like Maryann said and waited in toy dept for10 min and she didn't' show I talked with lots of associates about my plan and they loved it So I went and punched in and ran in to Maryann a little bit later before she left for the day and she said "so you didn't show up" I looked at her and said I most certainly did and I waited in the dept talking to some associates and then she said OH I am sorry I forgot all about it so NO VIDEO and odd how she tried to turn it on me in the beginning of our conversation that I didn't show up Will have to try again maybe
The changes on the Profile Page are from Google. They are in the process of changing to the new look everything including email...I agree not at all good..."if it ain't broke don't fix it" seems to apply here!!! They are not about to listen though...
Good morning for the second time today. I went back to bed and overslept this time...
I look forward to hearing from LYNN soon. Also from KAY and JO.
Sorry, haven't been doing any reporting b/c my 8th graders showed up and they wanted to watch the eagles on the Smartboard! They all want the URL to the site!! =)
@Dana, I've already introduced the Momsters to my kids when I told them what the eagles' names are! I'm sure that, now that they've seen them, I'm sure they'll ask every day for the cam to be up when they return from lunch!
I have a student taking a test in my classroom, so I'm able to sit and watch while he tests (he's taking the test on the computer and I'm here in case he needs me to read anything to him). Feel so lucky to see them in the middle of the day like this!! =)
My Dr appointment went well.. A1C was 6.8 and that was ok with doc. I am going to go to a physical therapist and try to get rid of some pain I have in my thighs. It is probably that I need to exercise or it's my spine tightening up He knows it is not circulation! So we'll do the exercise first. Don't go back until 4 months unless the exercises don't work.
I'm home....and ate finally!! What a PIA apptmt. that turned out to be. Everything is all set to start next Monday. A total of 28 treatments---M-F, except off the Monday after Christmas and New Years. They will make all transportation arrangements: if insurance doesn't cover it, they will take care of it---not sure what that means! If schools are closed, they are closed. SO: barring any snow days, I should finish up on Jan. 27th. I had to drink the junk juice for another CT---thankfully it was raspberry flavored! And then the body molds for correct positioning were made, and I got my tattoo marks for the correct beam location. And it was SO cold in there that I turned into an ice cube again. These places are going to MAKE me sick! So that's the plan. And they will schedule me for my preferred time of day---as in AFTER NOON.
Now to catch up with you all. Dumb me walked off and left my bag of Christmas cards on the chair---except for a couple that I needed more stamps for! So will take them in tomorrow on the way to meet Carolyn at the grocery store---she will help me get my shopping done after work!
Blackwater really got hit hard by the contractors goofs and bad weather......I remember they were trying to get compensation for the losses from the contractor----hope that worked out. And now lousy luck with new cam---argh! But I bet that it will be spectacular when complete!!!
Does anyone remember the place we watched. Don't think it was eagles. Where they had a thing you could click on and move the cam all around. Far and wide, up and down?
All afternoon yesterday, I kept hearing clunking that led me to believe someone was in the tree above the nest. Today Shep is just sitting in the nest checking out his territory. Maybe he's spending more time close to home.
Have had trouble out of the HD DVR so comcast is coming Wednesday to replace it...I thank them .. no charge. I can still watch tv..I've just had to reset it more than they feel I should even have too.
LYNN this is very good news!!! Sorry it was cold, but it seems like the transportation issue is being taken care of and that you will get afternoon appointments and I understand radiation but you have not said anything about chemo...right? The marking tatoos are for the radiation... This is VERY GOOD NEWS...JANUARY 27 will come and go and you will be on the mend and we will all do a jiggity jig, like is said on the blog!!! I like doing the jig!!!I am so happy for you.
I do not know the camera of which you are talking LYNN it would be very cool though to get the wide angle and be able to see around the nest... I like the WHITE ROCK nest because they have two cameras there...My HEART Is so very joyful and take a sweater next time you go there!!! LOL cold hospitals are no fun...you tell them to turn up the heat some, for heaven's sake REALLY!!!
Jo, glad your apptmt. went well. A1C acceptable! Hope the PT helps your thigh pain.
Sandi, cool that the school kids are impressed!!!! Tell them that things will only get better come end of Jan./early Feb. when eggs are laid---IF eggs are laid!!!!---and then Mar/Apr hatching!!!
Liesl just tore a whole pinecone off the tree....and crunched it to pieces. Bad doggie! She hadn't gone near it in several days---and in a flash, she did the deed. :( AND KNOWS IT....she slinked off.
The day is PERFECT already with LYNN'S and JO'S news... now waiting on KAY hope it makes it three out of three. LOVE YOU JO...Such a GREAT FRIEND you are...
Shar----I think it's Gemzar and Cisplatin. They sometimes add 5FU, but it's hard to come by---and I refused it anyway due to severe defoliation of hands and feet side-effect!
JO, so happy to hear the lab results and hopeful that PT will do the trick for those aches and pains !
LYNN, glad the ball is rolling on the treatment needed and that this particular grueling day is over. Glad they had the Rasberry stuff--the Lemonade is the best and both beat the old barium milk shake by a long shot. It seems imaging centers are always kept very cold, but they should have offered you a warm blanket ! We'll all be sending up mega prayers for this next month+ ! So glad transportation will be available and that they cater to the preferred times !
As for me, my doctor sent me straight to X-ray when she could "see" my pain. I can't lie on the right side and I can't lie on my back and extend that leg out straight without excruciating pain. That made the x-ray rough to go through. She'll get the radiology report this evening or in the morning and will call me. So, severe arthritis, bursitis, hip replacement ??? Any one of them possible. The latter cannot be considered until the kidney infection is completely gone and I'm no longer on the anti-biotic. I hope to hear, "you need a stronger pain med and some physical therapy", but we'll see. To be continued. In the meantime I do so appreciate the concern so many of you have expressed and your ever faithful prayers !♥♥♥♥
Kay prayers for answers from your X-rays. So sorry lady that you are in so much pain. Pain is never any fun...wears a person out. God Bless You Lady and May HE Be With You.((Hugs))
Don't know the chemo schedule for sure yet, but this is what the literature says: the first day of your treatment you will be given infusions of cisplatin and gemcitabine. The gemcitabine is then repeated one week later (day eight). After this you will have a rest period of two weeks with no chemotherapy. This completes what is called a cycle of your chemotherapy treatment. Each cycle lasts for 21 days (three weeks).
You will start the next cycle of your treatment after the rest period. Usually 4–6 cycles of treatment are given over a period of 3–4 months. This makes up a course of treatment.
Alternatively, your treatment can be given in a four-week (28-day) cycle. On day one you will be given infusions of cisplatin and gemcitabine. On days 8 and 15, you will be given gemcitabine only. This is then followed by two weeks of rest before starting the next cycle of chemotherapy.
Kay---I'm praying that it is bursitis!!! A cortisone injection will take care of that quickly in most cases!!!!!
LYNN, yes, bursitis would probably be the easiest diagnosis to live with ! Fingers crossed. It's gotten bad enough that I've pulled out a old fashioned black wood cane that was Stan's---regretting my giving his Eagle cane to a friend, but who knew ? I think Hugh will have to cut the cane down a dab for me. Dr. Donati says, "no, we're not going to have a vital, active woman like you hobbling around with a cane". Well, some of my best friends have canes and I'll accept it if it comes to that !;o) The Chemo schedule is a very intense 3-4 months, isn't it ? You already know the ropes on that I know you are strong and resolved to do all you can to fight the evil "C". Love you so much and admire your grit and attitude !
Hurray---both newspapers will make porch deliveries! Whew! Not nearly so difficult to go get the mail in the afternoons.....but early morning cold is a killer....so that will surely be a blessing until I get my strength back and warmer weather returns!
How well do you know your mail carrier ? He/she might be willing to deliver to the door for a while. Seems like I'm always reading some feel good story about carriers who go above and beyond for their people.
Kay, want me to get you an eagle cane???? Many of us have them! Even if we don't need them much, they CAN come in handy. And the beak makes a good weapon!!!! You'll hear us occasionally say that we'll go use one on someone who is misbehaving!!! The ones from NCTC are nice, but Cracker Barrell sometimes has sturdier ones!
LYNN, sweet thought, LYNN, but I'll pick one up next Spring if it turns out to be a need. I've "heard" you all talk about your eagle canes and saw WANDA's in one of the pics. Stan's was exactly like that and I actually am glad it went to a dear friend who needed it. I figured a lot of things could go wrong, but didn't give this kind of disability a thought ! We just never know, huh ?
I think he said he would call tomorrow. I know the staff had said that apptmt. today had to be early because he was leaving early for the day.
I'll talk to the PO people....carrier is USUALLY a regular, and she DOES bring packages to the porch---because I put in a card that they were NOT to be left on or hanging outside the box.
I did bring the black cane from AZ. Also brought a shower chair and a potty seat extender that are both stored at Julie's for use when her mil visits. So, I wasn't in complete denial about needs that might pop up as I age. I was in on the restoration of this condo and purchased a tall profile toilet and had sil install handicap bars in the bathtub/shower, even though I didn't yet need them. My building is one of only two with a single step up to the front porch and one step up into the foyer and my door. My unit is the only one with just one step up to the rear deck and door. My hope is to stay here for the duration. I love being surrounded by people of all ages as opposed to a retirement community situation.
Thanks for checking in, CAROL-ANNE ! We appreciate a once a day holler, even if it's only a line or two. From personal experience I can tell you that if you disappear for a couple of days a posse will be sent out to check on you. Momster's use all resources available to keep track of each other ! :o)
Hi, Everyone! Thank you, Steve, for the new thread. Hope you have a great day.
It's raining here in cold, grey SoCal! Had to break out Emma's raincoat! It was 40 here early this morning, and about 53 here now. Only expected to reach 56 today. Sure can tell this rain is from Alaska! I like it, though. The air is so crisp and fresh!
Lynn, glad your appt. went so well, and everything is progressing. Sorry they tried to freeze you! Prayers, prayers, and even more prayers!
Jo, glad your Dr. appt. went well. Hope the PT does the trick! Prayers that it will!
Would like to ask for prayers for our friend, Andrea Dion. Her son, Jason, is celebrating his 41st Birthday in Heaven. He passed away in April of 1993. He was a fantastic young man--a Navy SEAL, who died while practicing a parachute jump off a 350-foot cliff in Arizona. The parachute rolled up like a cigarette, and he plunged 350 feet to rocks below. He was still alive when medics reached him, and he was calling out to his Mom. She knows that he is in Heaven, but has never gotten over the death of her only child. Your prayers are much appreciated for our dear friend! Thanks in advance!
Oops--Emma is calling me. I bet she's lost her tennis ball under my recliner, and wants me to retrieve it for her! Will BBIALW. (Should probably make myself some lunch, too.) HAGD, everyone! :o]
Oh my, ANDY, Andrea Dion's story is heart rending. I can't even imagine the pain you and others here have suffered with the loss of a child. It just isn't supposed to happen that way. Prayers upon prayers for all you dear, so full of grace, people !♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Andrea prayers for your friend that lost her only child her son. Even though it has been awhile back. Sometimes time as some say will help. It is just not always the case. May God be with her during this rough time. Losing a child I pray I never find out. God Bless Jason's Mothers Heart. It is bad enough loosing your Sweetheart.
My MOM mail lady was the best when she had cancer there mail boxes were on the road and she would get out and put it on her porch right under the door so mom could get it I sure appreciated that and I let her know by sending her a gift card a couple of times I also called the newspaper where she worked and let them know what a excellent person she was I was hoping I didn't get her in trouble you know some times there are strict rules about getting out of vehicle and on people property but they were really nice

@Dana, I've already introduced the Momsters to my kids when I told them what the eagles' names are! I'm sure that, now that they've seen them, I'm sure they'll ask every day for the cam to be up when they return from lunch!
SHEP IS BEING SO STILL, I THOUGHT MY CAMERA FROZE AGAIN!
HE IS STILL SITTING AT FIVE AND SOMETHING OVER HIS LEFT SHOULDER HAS REALLY HAD HIS ATTENTION.

How have you been, Lynne? Missed you!
Shep is preening again
My Dr appointment went well.. A1C was 6.8 and that was ok with doc. I am going
to go to a physical therapist and try to get rid of some pain I have in my
thighs. It is probably that I need to
exercise or it's my spine tightening up
He knows it is not circulation! So
we'll do the exercise first.
Don't go back until 4 months unless
the exercises don't work.
The little statue is still in the nest!
Good news, Jo! You'll be peppy and full of energy soon then.
Lynne - I enjoyed all your pictures over on FB of your bosses and staff.
Sure looked like a very GOOD group with whom to be working!
I'm home....and ate finally!!

WAS THAT A YAWN?
Jo very happy test turned out good (:
JO GLAD YOU ARE BACK AND THAT YOU ARE OK WITH HOW YOUR APPOINTMENT WENT
REALLY DO HAVE TO GO...BYE,SO HAPPY I SAW THEM TODAY.
Dr. Kittimundu (black, and I suspect from Africa from the accent) did not see the PET scan yet...he was going to look at it at lunchtime.
LYNN, so this means you will be doing radiation and chemo?
Well, it sounds like you and the doc accomplished a lot, Lynn. Now how will we keep you warm?
Now to catch up with you all.
Dumb me walked off and left my bag of Christmas cards on the chair---except for a couple that I needed more stamps for! So will take them in tomorrow on the way to meet Carolyn at the grocery store---she will help me get my shopping done after work!
Sorry he had not read the Pet Scan yet grrrr
Glad you are back here aboard the ship. ♥
BTW: SHEP STILL SITTING ABOUT 5 AND ALL IS CALM WITH HIM.
Hedgie, so glad you are in the solution! Love and hugs. What is the chemo?
I like the sound of that, DanaWV, "the ship" - our own cozy little world away from the world!
Commenting as I go through the threads:
Blackwater really got hit hard by the contractors goofs and bad weather......I remember they were trying to get compensation for the losses from the contractor----hope that worked out. And now lousy luck with new cam---argh! But I bet that it will be spectacular when complete!!!
EAGLE!!!!!!!
It's Shep, I do believe.
Does anyone remember the place we watched. Don't think it was eagles. Where they had a thing you could click on and move the cam all around. Far and wide, up and down?
He's not working.....just sitting there thinking he's handsome or something!
I think Shep is glued to the spot!
Lori I was hoping doc could give me a
"Peppy" shot and save me all that hard
work......... LOL
Thought for a minute he acted like something was going to fly in
Nice he like the hotel accomondations and the view
All afternoon yesterday, I kept hearing clunking that led me to believe someone was in the tree above the nest. Today Shep is just sitting in the nest checking out his territory. Maybe he's spending more time close to home.
And POOF!
SHEP OUT OF THE NEST AT 3...
Back to work for me - my student is finished testing and the nest is MT. Bye all!
Have had trouble out of the HD DVR so comcast is coming Wednesday to replace it...I thank them .. no charge. I can still watch tv..I've just had to reset it more than they feel I should even have too.
Lynn you sure had a busy morning in order to get everything in order. Lori
asked you a question: Does that mean
chemo and radiation?
Well, stock up the freezer with good meals that are easy to fix! I'll can
bring ribs - like once a week. lol
Love you
BBILW

PRAYERS OF GRATITUDE. Gone to yoga see you in the PM my time.... I wonder if they will come in for an evening visit? Wouldn't that be cool???
Shar----I think it's Gemzar and Cisplatin. They sometimes add 5FU, but it's hard to come by---and I refused it anyway due to severe defoliation of hands and feet side-effect!
Yeah, hand and foot syndrome is pretty bad I think. How often do you get it?
A lot of bird sounds on here at the moment..maybe a red tail hawk
3rd patient of the day checking in...but 1st,
JO, so happy to hear the lab results and hopeful that PT will do the trick for those aches and pains !
LYNN, glad the ball is rolling on the treatment needed and that this particular grueling day is over.
DANAWV, thanks for your good wishes on my behalf.
Whoopee,LYNN, prayers are working, solutions abound !
Lynn is that doctor suppose to call you after he reads the Pet Scan today?
Afternoon all, just checking in, been working on a "special project" MTBR later.
Looks like lots of good news: eagle visits, reasonably good dr. visits, much cooperation for those that need it.
Keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers as I scurry(hmmm, that doesn't look right) thru my day.
Take care, stay safe,
GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE
I am so proud of both of you, LYNN & KAY, for your positive attitudes and resourcefulness! It's a pleasure to love both of you!
Aw, thanks LORI ! We thrive on the love and concern you kids have for us !
Prayers upon prayers for all you dear, so full of grace, people !♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
KAY - I hear they have some mighty powerful canes & know how to use them too!
Additional prayers being sent up as the needs become known.
The nice thing about prayers, they work if the recipient knows about them or not.
Just reading where Lynn got home and looks like everything is working out with the transportation I am so happy for you Lynn
LYNN wear some thermal underware and get some heated socks for therapy they sell in sporting goods Handwarmers also
what was that noise a odd sounding bird
I wonder if we will get a last min visit like we did last nite at 454
Such a sad story ANDY will definitely keep them in mind at prayer times
