I didn't really think I was quite finished either... Good Night Shirley, and everyone else...
A view of the eagles in the morning, would be....magical and uplifting, even if only on the Still Cam
There are so many that have given, and continue to give...so much for our safety and security, our protection and our freedoms.... My prayer is for safety for all, forgiveness, comfort for those with a grief that never really ends..... and Peace in the World

America the Beautiful Words by Katharine Lee Bates, Melody by Samuel Ward
O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed his grace on thee And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea!
O beautiful for pilgrim feet Whose stern impassioned stress A thoroughfare of freedom beat Across the wilderness! America! America! God mend thine every flaw, Confirm thy soul in self-control, Thy liberty in law!
O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife. Who more than self their country loved And mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine Till all success be nobleness And every gain divine!
O beautiful for patriot dream That sees beyond the years Thine alabaster cities gleam Undimmed by human tears! America! America! God shed his grace on thee And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea!
O beautiful for halcyon skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the enameled plain! America! America! God shed his grace on thee Till souls wax fair as earth and air And music-hearted sea!
O beautiful for pilgrims feet, Whose stem impassioned stress A thoroughfare for freedom beat Across the wilderness! America! America! God shed his grace on thee Till paths be wrought through wilds of thought By pilgrim foot and knee!
O beautiful for glory-tale Of liberating strife When once and twice, for man's avail Men lavished precious life! America! America! God shed his grace on thee Till selfish gain no longer stain The banner of the free!
O beautiful for patriot dream That sees beyond the years Thine alabaster cities gleam Undimmed by human tears! America! America! God shed his grace on thee Till nobler men keep once again Thy whiter jubilee!
Hi, Margy. Sorry you have to pull the OT. Caro will be surprised!
Just heard on news that a road worker was killed a block from my teenhood house today....Judie, at intersection of Masonville and Statecrest. Did NOT recognize the picture shown!! It was a new development in my day...and Mom styed there until about '80, I think....sure has changed inasmuch as the trees have all grown SO much!
Heading for tub. Will see you all in the morning. Prayers and love and PEACE!
Getting here pretty late tonight. Have been watching some programs about 9/11. I have tippy-toed in so I wouldn't wake up Judie, or anyone else who's already hit the pillows. Made sure the door didn't slam.
As Jim mentioned earlier, our run of hot weather out here was broken today. Kubby and I were out to pick up some more dog food for Emma, and it started to thunder, and we saw some rather impressive lightning. By the time we got home, the sky really opened up! We had raindrops the size of silver dollars, and then it began to pour! That went on for maybe 15 minutes, and then it settled into a more moderate rain. We got a pretty nice soaking! Sure cooled everything off nicely, too.
WV Dana, prayers continue for Shawn and his family! To answer the question about DampRid, it's a plastic container with crystals inside that absorb moisture in the air, and they harden & dissolve as they do so. After the crystals have completely dissolved, you can pour the remaining liquid in the toilet and flush. The stuff prevents mold & mildew, and eliminates musty odors.
Sorry to hear about the owl that got loose! Hope it is found SOON!
Saying healing prayers for Lolly & Jack, and for Dennis--OUCH!
Lynn, glad you gals enjoyed the movie so much, and dinner, too! Hope Liesl will forgive you.
Shirley, enjoyed the pictures of the boys. Looks like they were having fun.
I'm praying that tomorrow will be a day of remembrance that's NOT marred by any incidents. God, please bless America!
Sharon, Mema Jo, and Margy, so glad to hear of such enjoyable family gatherings!
Hoda, thank you for the complete words to "America the Beautiful." I pray that God will, once again, bless this country. It seems as if our country has been chastised in the last few years, with the economy and the warfare. I pray that will change soon.
Well, think I will call it a day. It's getting pretty late. Making sure the porch light is on. Enabling both security systems. Hope everyone has a sound, restorative sleep. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
I guess there is no one up yet on the 9-11 Sunday morning. I found myself up at 5:15 and couldn't go back to sleep. Even the dogs aren't getting up with me. That's okay, I'll watch the sunrise. : )
OH DARN'T it when the power went off yesterday I forgot to reset the coffee pot Now I am waiting for it to get done I have battery back up on my alarm clock good thing
On my "blogs I follow" a friend of mine has journaled every year since her 911 experience. She lived in a "flat" right next to the towers. To read her account is heart wrenching. So many thoughts, pains and fears that followed the attacks. If you get a chance to take a peek, it's really good. The first one that will come up is the one from last year, it doesn't look like she has posted one for this year, yet. On the right it goes all the way back to the day after, which is just haunting! God Bless America today and everyday! I hope I don't cry through Mass this morning, but I really feel oh so emotional and I was affected only as an American, the poor people directly affected are the ones I pray most for today!
I've already been over my friends house to let the puppies out. On my second cup of coffee. I'm always amazed at how fast time goes at this hour of the morning!
Good morning, Thelma, JudyE (now at work), DanaMo and Shirley (now hunting for corn and a pot!). A somber morning for sure, but praise God that we are blessed to all be here, sharing it together.

I'm here Judy and DanaMo. Still waiting for the splendor of the sunrise so excuse me if I have to leave for a moment.
Just another note, if you look at the post from "one year later" you will see the beautiful art piece she created. She is a beautiful artist.
I've already been over my friends house to let the puppies out. On my second cup of coffee. I'm always amazed at how fast time goes at this hour of the morning!
Where is her testimony DanaMo?
Under "blogs I follow" it's called Life in the Shadows
If there was a like button on blogger I would "like" Hoda's post of America the Beautiful! :)
Good morning,
