Thank you for the new thread, Steve. Enjoy the day.
Thank you for the call over, BEagle.
Safe trip home, Lolly. So happy you had a fun week.
Off to try to pick up my Plavix prescription. Usually don't see an actual pharmacist -- too busy to speak with the consumer of drugs. Military -- grrrrrrrr!
BTW Lynn, it was me who said if we hit the MegaMillions, we are moving to NC, to Mayberry. LOL! We'll have that as our home base and a house in the mountains and another on the beach!
no Jim, not for the last few minutes and no clunking anymore. But she was making a heck of a racket for about 45 seconds! I was upstairs and heard her and came running down!
OH YES!!! My new avatar showing my MORNING GLORY and OLD GLORY.....bloomed this morning!
I think the ones from GG will be blooming soon too. They are growing like mad even though they were eaten almost to the ground a few weeks ago, and climbing up the feeder pole!
Looking forward to seeing some pictures Margy!
We have a sound coming from the pond area over the hill. It's almost constant, like a short OOO OOO OOO and I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is. Been listening to frog calls online of all local frogs...no match. Maybe some kind of bird....
Good that you had a nice trek, Margy. I was outside doing a little bit of tree debris clean-up....found a bedraggled Luna Moth on a tree....got a pic. Will post later along with the Gray Tree Frog. Lynne, speaking of noises.....yesterday morning I heard one that was a constant 13 or 14 coo sounds....repeat...etc., but not like doves.
not sure what staccato is Lynn, but maybe Coo is a better description of mine....and it's like you said, not like doves really. Shorter notes, about every second for up to 20 and then quiet and starts again.
maybe we are Lynn! Maybe it's some creature that just gets vocal this time of year. It's driving me crazy! I may try taking the camera out later to see if I can pic up the sound on the video.
Well, just had a thought that may be of zero interest but hate to have someone mess up because of me: for the potato recipe I posted, do not peel the taters; just wash, cut in whatever size, etc. as it's the skin that gets crispy.
Quiet day. Got my Plavix. Did some more investigating and found depression is also a potential side-effect. May explain why I have less motivation than a snail for about six months. Hopefully, I can get to a doctor next week. The information page is given to me. I had read through it about a year ago but had not yet developed side-effects. Daily pill so don't suspect buildup but, over time, I believe the chemical(s) have altered some physiological functions.
Dinner tonight will be pork chops, crispy oven potatoes (reason why I realized my omission) and salad.
Otherwise, a so far uneventful day.
Shirley, hope Kathryn is improving. Also glad Memaw and Pawpaw are doing well.
Hi, Judie. Thanks for your kind words for Kathryn. I talked with her last night, and she seems to be getting better. I hope it continues to be that way.
There seems to be a lot out there about Plavix. I saw that it causes sleepiness. You really have to talk to a doctor for interpretation of some of that information, though, so I hope you are able to do that very soon.
My doctor told me some things about how they come up with those lists of side-effects that were interesting. He said they give the pills to a group of people, I believe he said medical students, and they record everything that happens to them.
If someone throws up, they list nausea as a possible side effect. He was more interested it taking into the side effects he was aware of based on his years of experience with people he had prescribed the medication to. But, happily, he was willing to listen to me, too.
You really want to know what is causing the symptoms. I know you need to take the Plavix.
Glad to hear that Kathryn is doing better, Shirley. The first 24 hrs. after the cortisone injection can be mighty rough, but then pain usually subsides quickly with resting the arm. She should also be prescribed PT.
Judie, sure hope you can talk to Dr. SOON. Are you taking brand name or generic? Sometimes just that change can make a difference for some folks.
Paula, too bad you missed a visit with the g'kids, but early-to-bed is good for Ajay at this point. She needs to be able to get extra rest.
Yes, I think PT would be a good idea, too, Lynn. First, though, we need to see what is going to happen with the insurance. I do hope there is not going to be a pre-existing condition problem. She had insurance before, so she thinks that should make a difference.
The doctor's assistant says bursitis and arthritis. They told me pretty much the same thing, so I figure it might be inherited, but Kathryn is too young to have this.
PT helped me, and Kathryn sees the same doctor.
They also see evidence of the rotor cuff injury from several years ago.
Shirley, if the previous insurance ended due to job change, there should not be any pre-existing clause......and whenever it's effective, new rules prohibit it anyway. Doubt a hereditary connection---usually an overuse issue.
Just talked with Rus. He and Rebecca are coming tomorrow night for dinner. It will be good to see them. It is funny. I ask Rus if they can come, and he asks her if they are doing anything. He does need someone to keep him organized.
Evening Everyone! Had a short Panda nap. Thought I was going to be a ball of fire when I got home, but not so! To alleviate the boredom of the day & NO working osprey cam for over a week, took a ride & hike after work. As soon as I got to the boat ramp, could see an adult osprey on top of the camera & hear someone squawking away. Went into the special boat dock & there you can see the nest. One juvie was fussing away, picking up part of a fish & soon Dad came zooming in with a new fish! All 3 birds were in the nest then. I wonder if juvie was hollering "feed me"!!!It wasn't clean & he flew off with it~~~how disappointing! Went down path to 2 story tower at River's edge & saw 2 huge birds in the water. Before I could turn on camera, they flew way down to a tree on the bank. Then more action occurred, tried to take pics. When I looked at back of camera, saw something else in the same tree with the other gang.Been going thru bird guides to ID & if I can stay awake, will try to do pics before midnight! ☺ Need coffee
Call from a former student and now Houston Deputy Sheriff. Her brother died earlier today. Cancer. So sad for her and her family. Her mom is a total sweetheart, also.
Turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others coming in, or clunking at the nest, or heading back the hallway, to the tub, up the stairs, or traveling home. Sleep well and pleasant dreams.
We got a call today from someone at Merkle (State facility) next door wanting info about rehabs as they had an injured osprey outside their Visitor's Ctr. They have platforms on the River, but no boat access to them. I was able to find Greg K. (bird expert) & get him on thyue phone. We figured it was a juvie & Greg said he thought another bird knocked it out of the sky & it ran into a tree.Evidently it was probably only stunned. They were able to catch it & bring it in to the AC. Later ythey brought it to us in a box & Greg took it home. There is a nest close to his home that is almost MT, so he will put it there. News on TU!
Judie, condolences to your friends' family. Pray that they find peace in his loss. Goodnight to you and Shirley; and to Margy, even tho' hers isn't for sweet sleep.
Margy, didn't realize you had to start tonight! Was thinking it was tomorrow night. Boo. And early to boot---:( TOo bad Carloyn won't get to be with you again any time soon.
We be home! I am totally exhausted! We got home at six and Joey shortly arrived. Jack promptly left to get Annie and I prepared a dinner of leftovers. Then we loaded all Laurel's stuff and they headed home. Now doing loads of laundry.
Guess I will read back on the blog and hope I do not fall asleep. I am fading fast!
Welcome home, Lolly and Jack. There's no place like home!! Forget the laundry, gal---it will wait til at least tomorrow! Get to bed and sleep like a baby in your own!
I'm home in the valley tonight - no sounds of the surf! Read most of your comments but I feel totally lost.. I think I am just tired from the ride home - not especially fond of night riding. I am heading to bed and will catch up with everyone tomorrow.
WELCOME HOME TO OUR TRAVELERS! Hope the weather was good for you each day while you were gone. I'm so tired, I may start speaking a foreign language, so I'm going to bed:)
Sorry I've been MIA--we have been SO busy! Had the surprise 40th Birthday party for our Son-in-law, Marq, last night. It was at their friends' house. Saw so many of the kids' friends that we haven't seen in at least a couple of years! Marq was really surprised, and we all had such a good time! I made a boatload of deviled eggs and took them along. There were only 4 left, so we brought them home, and they disappeared this morning!
I'm happy to say that the kids got to see our orioles this morning! We were so afraid that they wouldn't get a chance. A pair of them showed up on the feeder, and didn't fly off right away! Jen and Marq couldn't believe the male's bright color. When they get back home, they are going to put up several bird feeders in the back yard, so Courtney and Sierra can watch the birds. Jen wants to get a birdhouse for Purple Martins--guess they have seen quite a few of them!
The high school reunion is tonight--bet the kids are having a blast! It's at the Anaheim Marriott. Should be really nice.
Golly, seems like it's been a L-O-N--G time since I've been here! Need to wish a HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO GG, and to JUST VICKY!
Am feeling pretty tired tonight, so think I'm going to shower and call it a day. Prayers being said for everyone. Haven't completely caught up on the blog, but sure the Lord knows all our needs. Hope everyone gets a good, restorative rest tonight. Will try to get here to say hello some time tomorrow. The night light and the porch light are on. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you guys! :o] :o] :o] :o] :o] :o] :o]

I don't hear anything at the nest except a loud hum, Lynn2. Do you still hear her?
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
no Jim, not for the last few minutes and no clunking anymore. But she was making a heck of a racket for about 45 seconds! I was upstairs and heard her and came running down!

Temp may be okay out there, but humidity is really going up....rain pending for tomorrow---hope, hope!
humidity creeping up here too. Getting really cloudy. Steve and friend Dave are going fishing this evening so PLEASE LORD SEND SOME STRIPERS TO THEM!!
Staccato means short in music, Lynne. Could be we are hearing the same thing!
maybe we are Lynn! Maybe it's some creature that just gets vocal this time of year. It's driving me crazy! I may try taking the camera out later to see if I can pic up the sound on the video.
there is some whiny bird near the nest mic now. Not sure...maybe a catbird.
Afternoon, all!
Home from work, inventory went really quick!
Cannot believe that Palmer was heard! Maybe a quick trip home to check on things? Or perhaps another juvenile eagle?
Good luck for Steve's fishing trip!
Oh and a adult this morning...awesome!
Safe trip home for Lolly and Jack and family.
WE nest is MT, too!

I hope you get the answers you want very soon, Judie.
Boy, I got home earlier and was just whupped! Layed down and slept off and on for a couple of hours. Still tired!
Ajay is getting ready to put the kids to bed, so I'll have to go up another time!
Brensin a little better yet today, no fever.
Glad to hear that Kathryn is doing better, Shirley. The first 24 hrs. after the cortisone injection can be mighty rough, but then pain usually subsides quickly with resting the arm. She should also be prescribed PT.

Dinner here was shish kebab and perogies. Very tasty!
I love perogies...
Having quesadillas here tonight...

I had a baked potato for dinner. Maybe I'll eat a little ice cream. Trying to be careful about that.
One eye-asse at BWO laying in the middle of the nest.
K07 is back on the nest watching a speedboat go by.
Two others have joined the BWO.
It was fun watching the helicopter pilot swaddle the little Brigantine eaglet in that baby blanket.
There are still two eaglets on the Lake Washington cam.
They are still where they usually are.
One on the branch, the other up against the tree.
Shirley, if the previous insurance ended due to job change, there should not be any pre-existing clause......and whenever it's effective, new rules prohibit it anyway.

noise at the mic....
Kathryn hasn't expected a problem with pre-existing conditions. I am glad you don't see a problem, either, Lynn.
Just talked with Rus. He and Rebecca are coming tomorrow night for dinner. It will be good to see them. It is funny. I ask Rus if they can come, and he asks her if they are doing anything. He does need someone to keep him organized.
I hear an eagle
Yes, there's an eagle up there!
Whowee.
On the new rules, I don't know when they take effect. I think they are to go into effect first for children.
Their family had two emergency room issues during the no insurance period, but I don't expect they cost more than the COBRA plan would have cost them.
That cicada must be right on the mike.
Well, it's gone now.
Listening for an eagle. I hear crickets.
Tiny bit of rain here.
Can't tell what I am hearing now.
Another clunk.
Would be cool to have a visit from one of our eagles.
Yes, I heard a clunk.
Come on and drop down into the nest. We hear you.
More little clunks.
come down come down whoever you are!
Finally saw both the male and female or immature at the hummingbird feeder tonight...and got a couple of pics. Put them on Paula's prints. :)
3 at BWO for tonight...assumings it's all the chicklets
Cute little hummer.
Another clunk.
hummerS
Paula, I love quesadillas! Sounds like a good item for tomorrow's menu since I have a fresh bag of tortillas!

PRAYERS FOR ALL
Hi, Everyone,
Sorry I've been MIA--we have been SO busy!
Jen wants to get a birdhouse for Purple Martins--guess they have seen quite a few of them!
The high school reunion is tonight--bet the kids are having a blast! It's at the Anaheim Marriott.
Should be really nice.
Golly, seems like it's been a
L-O-N--G time since I've been here!
WooHoo.....JO is back!!
Morning, eagle dudettes and dudes.
Cloudy....no rain yet.
Morning, all!
Nest is quiet and MT
Watching the birds at the feeder and having some coffee before I get ready to head to work
Cam clunking...sounds like someone cleaning their beak!
Good morning to all this fine Sunday morning.
I did not get up at the crack of dawn like yesterday to see if there was any beaks through the spaces in spidey's web.
I hear clunking at the cam. So we know there's an eagle there.
Have heard a few clunks but no vocalization....so probably an adult and NOT mouthy Palmer!
Loretta, compeletely missed commenting on your excitement yesterday. Wonder how Greg made out over night?
NEW SUNDAY
