Hi Meagan and Magpie! Megan, your baby mockingbird pictures are adorable!

Lolly, I sure learned that I have NO knees since tromping & climbing across the pond!!If I had gone to a Dr., they probably would have sent me straight to surgery!LOL I did wear my braces when I knew we would be climbing & took meds for that and one hip. Hidey is getting a much deserved rest after a big night out on the town!! Poor baby! LOL! Sky is getting heavier---if that's possible! Guess storms are getting closer.

I have my knee wrapped while walking. And, when we go hiking in Colorado I will wrap it. I also am putting ice on it after exercising. It does not hurt, but I have felt a little swelling recently. Paula, I think Hidey had his lesson this morning at fishing school. He needs to go to a class on social manners!

Laurel just called. Neighbors lost a tree last night. It split and one side hit his truck. She is heading out to pick up large limbs and debris in her yard. She got 2 1/2 inches in 30 minutes. Joey, an insurance agent is out at a client's house who lost his roof.
Hi Magpie, yes I plan to keep coming back. I'm hooked. My co-workers are 2 of the nicest people you could ever meet. They often take vacation time together to go birding. They kept talking about the "Eagles" and at first I didn't know they were watching them online. They shared the site with me (because we're not supposed to "surf" at work). Now I'm addicted to our Eagle Family and a few of the other sites as well, like the NBG site.
As for the winters here in beautiful Binghamton, NY; yes it gets real darn cold, but I,m a native and have gotten used to the weather. I used to live in Maryland and what a difference a few hundred miles south can be.
I have a long-time friend who lives in Ashville NY and works in Jamestown, NY at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute...talk about Snow this past winter ! Woof !
Magpie, yeah they get a lot more snow up north than we do here. The snow belt starts about 35 miles north of Binghamton. We still get our share of snow, but not like they tend to get. It comes off the Great Lakes and boy do they get dumped on!! I must admit, it is awful pretty though, and I love the quietness of a fresh snowfall. It's even more beautiful when there's a full moon and the snow glistens like there's diamonds laying on top. Magical!!
Quick note on the change in the cam. The Eagle Cam has been very popular over the last few months. With that the bandwidth usage has been very high, which is great and the same time expensive. In looking at the traffic, we have some users that leave the webcam running all the time, which probably includes time away from the computer. So to better monitor usage, we made 2 changes. One, we switched broadband carriers to cut costs by 50%. Second, we put a timer on the player that makes you restart after 15 minutes. The change in the carrier should not impact your ability to get the stream as it is the same feed coming out of NCTC. But apparently this has been issue for a couple of people. We can't replicate it on our end, but if you are having trouble, email me at info(at)myoutdoortv.com. On the player, it may need some tweeking. If you refresh, it should start back up. But if you are having constant problems with it, let me know, as we may need to do more work on it. Thanks for being understanding. We want to keep this webcam with the live feed but balance the cost of providing the service for US Fish and Wildlife.
You may have tail winds!! Safe trip...hope you have a fun time with Ceil, Jim and MM. Tell all hello. Is Jubby going to be there, too? That man works too much!
This is a good explanation...we have been so wondrous over all that we have been able to see these last few months, guess we can be a little funny about change, especially when it comes to "Our Nest." Thanks for the invite to send our problems along to you...hope it all works out well for all parties....
ROFLMBO, Mits.....who is probably out the door now! I take it you don't play golf!?! ME, either, but have been a golf-widow often---back when he had time before the new business, my Bill would play several times a week! I got really angry once when we went to Myrtle Beach--when we got there he signed up for some lessons; I had to get up at 7 for 5 mornings to drop him off at the course and then go back and pick him up at lunchtime---only way I could go anyplace or do anything while he was gone!
Fan of Hidey and of your blog since April but first time blogger - Not liking the new cam changes - Here's what I got from them when I emailed-it's a little long, sorry: Thanks for your note.
There are two changes we made to the new player:
We added a timer that makes the viewer restart the stream after 15 minutes. We switched to a different streaming provider to cut streaming costs by 50%.
The popularity of the Eagle cam has been great. Unfortunately, there is a high cost to providing a live stream. We noticed that a number of viewers are leaving their cam running all day when they are probably away from their computer. So we added the timer so that if someone is watching after 15 minutes, they can click the restart to start the stream again. As far as the new provider, they are delivering the same stream that was coming from the Eagle Cam before. The US Fish and Wildlife staff brings the cam feed into a computer where they encode it into flash and send it out over a delivery network. The fact that the delivery network changed should not have changed your ability to see that feed.
So I am not clear why people are having issues. So far, I have heard from one other person.
If you have two browsers on your computer, like Internet Explorer and Firefox, I would be curious if you are having the same problem with both browsers. The cam was down for a short period while we made the switch over and I want to make sure your browser did not cache the blank screen image, since it sounds like you are getting the audio. If you know how to clear the cache from your browser, that may be something you can try. Also, if you can tell me the version of the browser you are using. If you click on the help button at the top of the browser, it will do a drop down box that usually has an “About” select that will give you the version number.
Otherwise, we will need to do more detective work with our carrier to figure out why you are not getting it on your computer.
Sorry that the change created these problems for you.
Hello, Everyone, I'm finally checking in here after literally sleeping around the clock. I owe everyone a HUGE apology for not getting to Deb's father's service in time yesterday. I feel so awful that I didn't get to see Deb and her family, because I know she was expecting me to be there! It's kind of a long story, but I'll try to explain. I was all ready to leave home (with plenty of time to get to the cemetery), when Jake the pup surprised me with a BIG mess of puppy poop in his nylon crate-- the only safe place for him to be while I was gone! I had to change into grubby clothes, clean up him AND the crate, change back into nicer duds, and hit the road. I got to the cemetery just a little after 1:30, but hoped that I could still catch someone who hadn't left yet, to find out where the Celebration of Life program would be in Hemet. When I stopped at the Info Booth, they gave me a map to follow to the gravesite, but said I could NOT go there until after 4:30pm. The only option they gave me was to make a U-turn and leave! I was so unhappy to disappoint everyone, but really had no other option but to turn around and go home! I didn't know where to find everyone in Hemet, or I would have gone there, and I didn't know how to contact Deb. I'm just SO sorry it worked out that way! I couldn't have left little Jake in such a messy state, though. In any case, I apologize for not being there for Deb and her family. And by the time I got home, I was so tired I decided to stay home from school last night. I was running on about 3 hours of sleep (for the last 3 nights in a row) due to puppy babysitting, and was in no shape to go anywhere by then. After my SIL picked up Jakey and took him back home, I hit the hay, and slept around the clock! I feel a lot better today-- it's amazing what several consecutive hours of sleep will do for you! I promise that the next time I visit my father-in-law's grave at Riverside National Cemetery, I'll put some flowers there for Deb's dad, too.
Andrea, bless your heart. Your heart was definitely in the right place though. Sorry it didn't work out but everything happens for a reason! Glad you checked in with us because we were worried about you.
Thanks, Sharon-- the scripture that comes to mind is "Man may make his plans, but the will of the Lord alone is carried out." And Paula, you aren't kidding, s___ happens! Truer words were never spoken. Poor little Jake, he has been so good, and trying so hard, but I guess the urge just surprised him that time. My heart really went out to the little guy. :o}
Ok, read what they said from myoutdoortv and had page open in IE and one open in Google Chrome. The one in Google chrome freezes up but after 2 or 3 times of hitting play in IE, it comes up every time with no barber shop bar going. Hmmmm!
BTW, I haven't caught up on the blog yet, but is our Texas delegation all OK? We got a call from our daughter in Aubrey yesterday afternoon, and they had a close call-- had to spend some time in their 'Tornado closet'! Everyone's OK, but it was a little too close for comfort! To be honest, I'd rather deal with earthquakes any day (I guess it's a matter of what you're used to)!
I see we were not on as one of the top birdam. It has to be this new system. People are getting aggravated with the it way it is working, including me. So, I haven't the eagles as much as I used too. Thnik we sould really start to complain.
Just send MOTV an email at info(at)myoutdoortv.com and explain the problems you are having so they can work to fix it. As for Beakspeak, I really never go thru their site, I just go directly to MOTV site that is saved in my favorites.
Hi again. So glad that Andrea was on...what a rough day she had yesterday. So sorry all the bad stuff happened, girlfriend. When it rains, it pours. Feel bad that you had to miss your class----it was a test, wasn't it? Thanks for your hard efforts! Glad you are feeling more rested now...and that Jake is back with his family so that you don't have so much on you!
Prayers continuing for Deb and for Dana's Ed. I've been tackling the basement today...know mom won't go down there, but sis probably will if there's a TV conflict or something! LOL!
Hello everyone. Took a few minutes to scan over the messages. I have heard what sounds like Hidey. Will be napping and peeking at messages and the nest. I come in and crash on the sofa and try to absorb as much as I can.

I can tell the nest is going to need a lot of nestorations this fall before a new season! Hello Lynn - my favorite cleaning lady! Hello Margy - thanks for telling Andrea how we feel! Hello Andrea - thankful you made up for the sleep you needed Hello Shirley - enjoy your nap
I was trying to acknowledge all of you that are on the blog (excluding any of our readers who I can't see) NOT doing it again until I get that cheat sheet! I am always afraid of missing someone, which I am sure I did! So Hi out there & welcome to all in Eagleland!
Hi Jo, I was awake enough to see my name in your message. Don't know whether to say I hope your flowers get rained on or not. We have had so much rain here, and there's supposed to be more tonight.
I kind of think you've had a lot of rain too.
I usually end up watering my potted plants pretty often because they are on the porch.
I think I still hear Hidey.
I know I need to make a cheat sheet too. I will have more energy as soon as school winds down for the summer.
One thing that I've always enjoyed about reading te messages on this iste is the special vocabulary you use--nestovers,and "nestorations," especially. I decided to Goggle them. Try it...
Costume Lady said... Paula said it would be out of character for an intruder eagle to to nestorations and I agree. That is why I thought it might be one of their offspring. I think we saw A-63 doing nestorations. It may be instinct to "tidy up" their old home. JMO
My car has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it will not start. I wait a few minutes and it starts right up until the next time maybe a month or more later. Lately it has become more frequent. I'm going to take it to the mechanic in the morning and see if they can figure it out. I have a feeling it will start each time and they will not be able to figure it out.
Stronghunter, she did mention this but the dog on T-Bird's avatar is my nephew, Buddy the Basset Hound! He is one of my most favorite people :) in the world!
At times a juvie (one who has fledged and is mainly on his own) will return to his 'birth nest'! That is what happened out on one of the nest in CA and they id'd the juvie as A-63 by his wing blings. The adults will get hostile if they do and chase them away as an intruder. Not a good welcome back!!
Let me see if I can make you all itch. I had not treated my dogs yet for ticks and fleas and found 6 deer ticks on Hairy's head and neck. They have made sores on his skin. Ugly. Needless to say, they have been treated now. I have checked myself really good. I should have been wearing those flea/tick collars on my ankles! :)

GOOD MORNING YA'LL FROM GA. I guess I sent some of those storms to you. We had them yesterday and last night. At least didnt have to water flowers yesterday. Natures watering can is always better for the plants. Hope all have a great and blessed day!!!
Jo, thanks for the rose ideas. I am ordering one of each!!
Lolly, I sure learned that I have NO knees since tromping & climbing across the pond!!If I had gone to a Dr., they probably would have sent me straight to surgery!LOL I did wear my braces when I knew we would be climbing & took meds for that and one hip. We (2 of us) had mostly muscle aches. Daughter trooped on w/no problem--she organized the sites we visited!
Hey everyone - Jo, Lolly, Margy, NatureNut, Paula, Sharon & Donka -
I sure hope I didn't forget anyone.
Hope you're having a dry day so far.
How awesome to see Hidey in the nest.
Question? Is our live video camera view smaller now with these ads on the page? Can never have too much Hidey on the monitor!
yes believe cam is smaller..Lori
Hey there, Donka Marie
Welcome back and keep coming back!
Glad your co-workers got you hooked! Same way it happened for me...what a friendly thing to do ☺
I see where you are from, Wow, it gets plenty cold up there in the winter I bet ! Ah yes, another Bluegrass fan...♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ☺
Hi Lori and all past, present and future plopper-onners
maybe Hopper-onners would have sounded more delicate ☺
Hi Mits! Read your report from your Zoo Day .... going to be seeing your cheerful sisters today?
Not back to all real life yet----will be trying to work on pics & haven't even unpacked everything yet. Most stuff has to be laundered & need to get to grocery, etc. Should have taken another week off from work!Been getting phone calls too about trip & that takes an hour or more!Seem to be falling asleep earlier too & I used to be a night owl!I do have today, & weekend off.
Lolly, I looked for your submarine in the Aegean! Will have to check all the pics closer!!LOL
NEWS FROM BWO.....:(
Nest Update
06/11/09:
Based on what we've seen and heard from the Refuge staff, it appears we've lost a second chick. It disappeared sometime Wednesday. We're not sure why it happened at this point, but the remaining chick appears to be strong at this time.
Reminder: We updated our Osprey Cam Web Log on June 9.
will see them tomorrow, Margy:)
I think cam looked a little smaller too---right clicked & zoomed. When the hammering sound disappears I went back & hit Play & it stayed enlarged.
Hidey is getting a much deserved rest after a big night out on the town!! Poor baby! LOL!
Sky is getting heavier---if that's possible! Guess storms are getting closer.
Gonna go do something--BBIALW
So, I wonder...is Hidey playing hookey from fishing school today...or did he get a day off?
OH no...

I was there, Loreeda! You just did not see my periscope! LOL
I have my knee wrapped while walking. And, when we go hiking in Colorado I will wrap it. I also am putting ice on it after exercising. It does not hurt, but I have felt a little swelling recently. Ain't it great....getting older. Hey, I am not going to let it slow me down! I have just reached middle age!!! Have a lot to see and do!
I see Mits just posted that as well.
Last picture I have is from Monday at BWO...don't think I had it on yesterday...
Oh, so sad, BWO, but glad the remaining little one seems to be strong. Finney Land has a chick, but I haven't seen the other two eggs, don't think the nest gives up much of a view...More to be Revealed.....I'm over on Monday's thread catching up on comments...
Paula, I think Hidey had his lesson this morning at fishing school. He needs to go to a class on social manners!
LOL Just realized I sometimes think of Hidey as a she and sometimes as a he. ???????
Laurel just called. Neighbors lost a tree last night. It split and one side hit his truck. She is heading out to pick up large limbs and debris in her yard.
She got 2 1/2 inches in 30 minutes. Joey, an insurance agent is out at a client's house who lost his roof.
Ok, time to take Annie to the vet.
Have a great day! BBL
Okay, Mits, Make it a Red Threesome for a Friday ☺ ♥
Thanks for the shout. Have a great day!!
Hi Mits! Thanks - I thought it was - smaller view.
Have a great day all. Be safe with these storms coming.
Hitting the highway home now. BBL

I have a long-time friend who lives in Ashville NY and works in Jamestown, NY at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute...talk about Snow this past winter ! Woof !
Headed out of here for a much needed hair cut. Hopefully I'll get there and back before any storm hits the valley.

Magical!!
Time for me to go to lunch. BBL
Had to refresh...Hidey has left the building!!
What a shame for BWO...hope the 3rd chick survives and thrives. They've sure had a time of it there.

Thanks for the info and your efforts, MOTV team.
well the man who works too much is on his annual golf trip to NC....:)
Thanks MOTV...;)
Thanks for the info, MOTV
Thanks from me too MyOutdoorTV Team
This is a good explanation...we have been so wondrous over all that we have been able to see these last few months, guess we can be a little funny about change, especially when it comes to "Our Nest." Thanks for the invite to send our problems along to you...hope it all works out well for all parties....
Whew, doesn't sound like a day for a walk in the woods in Gaylord Michigan !
Have a good trip Helen, Ceil, Mary Margy and Jimmy, and I hope Jubby scores a bunch of holes in one!
xo
ROFLMBO, Mits.....who is probably out the door now! I take it you don't play golf!?! ME, either, but have been a golf-widow often---back when he had time before the new business, my Bill would play several times a week! I got really angry once when we went to Myrtle Beach--when we got there he signed up for some lessons; I had to get up at 7 for 5 mornings to drop him off at the course and then go back and pick him up at lunchtime---only way I could go anyplace or do anything while he was gone!
Only had the still cam on...saw parent and Hidey in the nest...now just Hidey
Hidey is picking around the nest, but still looks like a fish nestover in the middle of the nest.
Hidey had a couple of bites...talked to the parent up in the tree...and has now plopped down in the bowl.
Heard some peeping while I was on the phone...now Hidey is gone...
Fan of Hidey and of your blog since April but first time blogger - Not liking the new cam changes - Here's what I got from them when I emailed-it's a little long, sorry:
Thanks for your note.
Thanks, Miss Elly. Your email might help others.
ARe you able to get the cam now??
Have a droning noise, same seemingly static picture w/the "barber pole" thing going. SIGH!
Try refreshing the page
Hidey in the nest!
Hello, Everyone,
I'm finally checking in here after literally sleeping around the clock.
And Hidey left!!
Awww Andrea, you certainly tried! Sometimes sh** happens. :)
Deb didn't know you were going to be there, if it's any consolation.
Glad you are feeling better after some sleep.
Very light rain here and at nest.
Thanks, Sharon-- the scripture that comes to mind is "Man may make his plans, but the will of the Lord alone is carried out."
And Paula, you aren't kidding, s___ happens! Truer words were never spoken. Poor little Jake, he has been so good, and trying so hard, but I guess the urge just surprised him that time. My heart really went out to the little guy.
:o}
Yup, Lolly and kids OK
Mighty glad to hear that all are O.K. in TX! Well, gotta go and make a couple of phone calls and do a bit of straightening up. BBIALW.... :o]
Hey! Had to go pick up monthly meds today.
Anything been at Pete's Pond lately? We watched it till past 1:30 am last night and didn't catch anything but lots of different birds.
Looks like a bear at the snowman cam right now.
My husband loves to watch Pete's pond. That's why we were up so late last night watching for some excitement. Lot of loud mouth birds!!!
LOL!
Shuttle launch is scheduled for Sat. at 7:17 AM. Guess I'll be an early bird that day...but will probably go back to bed, too!
Good afternoon. I haven't had time to read all comments today, so I don't know if you've had the link to the Catalina Reports yet.
There's a 'bluie link' below in case you haven't seen them yet.
There are a lot of good pictures and a few videos...the Catalina Report deals with the West End banding.
Enjoy.

Hello everyone. Took a few minutes to scan over the messages. I have heard what sounds like Hidey. Will be napping and peeking at messages and the nest. I come in and crash on the sofa and try to absorb as much as I can.
Sounds like Hidey is very near.

Hello Shirley - enjoy your nap
Hidey went POOF as I was typing.
I was trying to acknowledge all of you that are on the blog (excluding any of our readers who I can't see) NOT doing it again until I get that cheat sheet!
I am always afraid of missing someone, which I am sure I did! So
Hi out there & welcome to all in Eagleland!
I need to water potted flowers I thought the rain was going to do my job for me - but it hasn't showed up!
Hello everyone
How are my eagle momsters and dadsters?
Hi Jo, I was awake enough to see my name in your message. Don't know whether to say I hope your flowers get rained on or not. We have had so much rain here, and there's supposed to be more tonight.
I kind of think you've had a lot of rain too.
I usually end up watering my potted plants pretty often because they are on the porch.
I think I still hear Hidey.
I know I need to make a cheat sheet too. I will have more energy as soon as school winds down for the summer.
Well, T-Bird it must be ESP - I was a'wonderin about you !
Love your doggie pic Thelma.
Magpie, we have the ES and the PN here in WV. : )
Thanks stronghunter-he came to visit the nest one time. He loves the eagles too. : )
I think I hear our Hidey. ??
One thing that I've always enjoyed about reading te messages on this iste is the special vocabulary you use--nestovers,and "nestorations," especially. I decided to Goggle them. Try it...
I mean the messages on this site . . .
what did you get when you googled them?
This website.
Somebody here must have invented those words.
We do have a fine unique bunch of folks. We do have our own vocabulary.
One message is about A-63, and one is about Hidey. Then there are some from Hancock.
I do not know what A-63 is, must be before my time here.
A-63 ???
LOL Shirley! How about that Google!
Eaglet Momsters are making the news!
The A-63 is one of the IWS (Catalina Island) eagles. There Wing Blings all have a Letter + number for IDing.
Hi there Thelma! What are your
weekend plans? Are you headed to WV?
Here's the message:
Costume Lady said...
Paula said it would be out of character for an intruder eagle to to nestorations and I agree. That is why I thought it might be one of their offspring. I think we saw A-63 doing nestorations. It may be instinct to "tidy up" their old home. JMO

Cheat sheet info: Shirley did you tell me 'George' or 'Tabby' ? One is Bibee's and I am getting mixed up.
I have Marvin! And T-Bird has Buddy.
looks like momma bear at snowman cam
Hello Mema Jo. Yeah I'm headed to WV as long as my car holds up.
What we write gets preserved forever. How about that?
Maybe adding new words to the dictionary, too.
Good evening one and all.
Stronghunter, most of our phrases we made up as we went. We have a lot of fun around here!
Hey T-Bird, are you going to WV this weekend??? :)
I am STILL working. Had too many breaks today to run errands but IT IS WHAT IT IS. Where is Mits, by the way? Has she made it to the beach yet?
There you are Mits! How is the ocean today?
My car has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it will not start. I wait a few minutes and it starts right up until the next time maybe a month or more later. Lately it has become more frequent. I'm going to take it to the mechanic in the morning and see if they can figure it out. I have a feeling it will start each time and they will not be able to figure it out.
Stronghunter, she did mention this but the dog on T-Bird's avatar is my nephew, Buddy the Basset Hound! He is one of my most favorite people :) in the world!
Hi eagled eye. Funny Hello MITS. Yeah, how is the beach you dog. : )
My kitty's name is George.
I had a basset hound named Sassafras for years, but she passed away awhile back. Bassets are so sweet. Stubborn, but sweet. My daughter has two.
WOW! the gang is all here!
Any dolphins out there Mits?
Are you going to go on to the boardwalk with sisters/Jim and wave to us on a cam?
My brother-in-law calls Buddy George. How funny. Yeah Bassets are stuborn but that is part of the charm.
Sharon - does Tom pet your dogs??????
Bassetts stubborn? Naw!
Mema Jo, Tom is rarely around Sharon's dogs.
I think
I hear some Peeping!
Sharon laughs at me when I try to be more stubborn than Buddy but she forgot to tell you that when she laughed.
Come on down!
I hear Hidey. Sure would like to see her.
I think I'm not allowed to see the nest anymore. Just the green barber pole thingy. Tried refresh, no go.
Adult at BWE.
Adult and two eaglets feeding at NBG.
