yesterday was a beautiful day! sunny and almost 50. shhhh! I wore flippes on my feet!!!!I too am now longing for spring and although not looking forward to another time adjustment, looking for to the results of said adjustment!
I spent a bit of time out doing yard maintenance stuff yesterday. it was nice just to get to be in the sun!!!!!
back to work tomorrow. rain,snow/sleet anticipated for tomorrow. fickle, fickle march!
Good morning to all ♥ Just now signing on to this fresh new thread - Thank you Steve. Congrats Lynne aka Grannyblt for being able to add some more feathers to your collection.
I need to go back a thread and read everyone's morning reports.
I was up until midnight watching our little panda gal, Bao Bao up high in her tree. She was not interested in coming down - so this morning I'm looking for some remarks from the zoo. I need to check FB to see how late others were up watching. She is being weaned from her mother now so I think she thought she didn't need to answer to anyone or she was just a bit upset. Let me know if any of you hear anything.
Hi all - just checking the box on this new thread - thanks Steve!
Winter weather is in the forecast for here as of tomorrow night and into Thursday morning. We have parent conferences until 8pm tomorrow night. Hmmm, a weather-related cancellation of conferences wouldn't be a bad thing, IMO!
I think I missed some action because now the "leg of deer" has been moved and I didn't see it being done. There was just a fly in - both eagles at the nest
Good morning! Up to 49 and sort of a damp day. Tomorrow temps start dropping and more entry mix!
All Fritz family are back in school! Yea! And, tonight is special for Joseph as Uncle Michael is taking him and Joey to the hockey game. Stars are playing the Islanders and Joseph is an Islanders fan. Laurel has a treat for a Jacob so he won't feel left out!
My sister saw on Facebook a hoodie and I have ordered it. Too funny! It says "You don't scare me, I was born in Alamo". Has a picture of The Alomo on it! Well, Alamo, Texas is a very small town in south Texas. So small there is no hospital. I was born at home in Alamo. Very few of us, I bet! Lol
Andy, yea! Glad you are outta there! What a mess! Does your pooch get to go with you?
Shirley I hope you are having a good bowling day and definitely have lunch with your friends. This afternoon you may need to get on home for another indoor stay until this storm gets out of here
Thanks for the new thread STEVE and congrats to Lynne1 for being on duty and winning a feather!
JO, I don't imagine our eagles can find much dry flugg material right now. Glad the weather hasn't curtailed their ability to find food!
I'm so glad Bao Bao found the way to climb down---guess that may be a rite of passage in Panda life!
Hoping to hear a Happy Bowling and Lunch report from SHIRLEY!
Hmmm, nice egg roll! For a while I couldn't get the cam to stay on for more than a minute or two at a time, but it seems to have settled in now---7 min.---hope it sticks in the "on" mode now.
LOLLY, how nice of Michael to provide such a big treat for Joey and Joseph! Enjoy that unique hoodie!
There are so many open fields around NCTC and there are also Bales (rolls) of hay (straw) that the farmers' fields have. That is were I was hoping our eagles would find some flugg. I think Belle is in our nest now - with her head tucked - it is windy up there.
A very sad end to the season for Blackwater eagles. We'll never know all the reasons such things happen. Will hope for a happier scene there next year. Meantime there is their osprey season to look forward to!
Thanks, JO, of course I can't picture those bales of hay, etc.. I've just assumed the flugg is chiefly local grasses.
Evening all. According to one weather site on Facebook, our eagle nest could get dumped on with the next storm Wednesday night into Thursday - could get 5-8" or even >8"! Forecasts here say 1-3" or 3-5" depending on which one I check out.
So far now at almost 6pm the weather is holding up! I think I'm hearing that Thursday will be the big test of survival with large amount of snow. However' just like today it could all change and be SPRING ♥ Hard to believe we're turn clocks ahead this Saturday before going to bed. It used to be not until April.
good evening to all. its been a busy day. school work, of course, a bit of house work and I worked on a project I've been wanting to do. I sifted through some old pictures and gathered the box of pix frames I had down stairs and put some of them together and hung up the pictures. I consolidated three boxes down to one. I put a bunch of loose pix away in a more appropriate spot.
rain started a bit earlier. we are anticipating more ice followed by snow tomorrow evening.
its been nice having some warmer weather. I've had windows open. guess i'll be closing them soon!
hoping everyone is doing well. stay warm, dry and safe!
Meatloaf in the oven and now thinking about reading for a while.
Hate to hear about more snow possible on the nest. Yucko! Our weather forecast is not good. Good chance of no school on Thursday!
Jack is doing fine with his hearing aids, Jo. He was supposed to go back last week but bad weather prohibited it. Now supposed to go this Thursday and more bad weather coming. We shall see. He does not hear a big difference but I am thinking he is hearing a lot better. Just said his name, he is in the other room. He heard me and he would not have heard me before! 😄👂👍 yea!
I am looking forward to getting my unique hoodie. Does not have The Alamo on it but the state of Texas. I will have fun with it!
We are indeed happy to be staying at the Marriott Residence Inn! Emma was even allowed to sleep in the bed with us last night, and she was a very good girl. I went to the house today to pick up something, and found the house looking like something from a science fiction movie! Plastic everywhere, and big aluminum air ducts coming from the window of the front bedroom! Guys had face masks on, though no white suits, but they changed clothes and bagged up the old ones in a big plastic bag before they left. I couldn't go down the hall; it was blocked by plastic. I was dismayed to find fine white dust on our entertainment center, though. They are coming back tomorrow, and I hope they clean up better then. It appears that it would have been safer for them to just fix the plumbing and be done with it! Hmmmm. Ken's going to take a few pictures when he goes over to unlock the house for them. Well, gotta make Emma's dinner. Will be back tomorrow. Goodnight and God bless! I love us!
Lolly - when Jack takes his hearing aids out be SURE to open the battery case so they don't keep charging. I would hope they told Jack about that. That is the only thing I can think of - When I go in I'll need to remember to ask about the Life span of the battery.
Busy day. We lost one bowling game and won 3. I improved ever so slightly. Knee problems have taken their toll.
Lunch was great. We are getting together on Saturday, and plan to go to a play later on.
Hate to think of another winter storm.
Andy, I am so glad you are in that hotel. And the insurance company would have had to find suitable arrangements for Emma if she couldn't stay in your room.
Getting sleepy. SED, everyone.
Oh, my bowling friends enjoyed seeing the nest today.
Goodorming my eagle friends. Pouring down rain here and 46 degrees. Tomorrow we could get 3-5 inches of snow here at the beach. Geez!
Hoda, sounds like an interesting book. Ya know, if Denny's draft number had been called, he had already decided he was going to Canada. Then, we never would have met & got married and there would be no Brian, no Kevin, and no Freyja.
Long day for me - parent conferences until 8pm after school - the very last parent conferences of my teaching career!
Have agreat day all. Enjoy today's warm temps before the bottom drops out again!
will I found out that my email isn't working tried to send myself a email and its not working stuck in out box Will have to figure that out when I get home
Good Wednesday morning to all ♥ I think the restless eagle in the nest hears all this rain, sleet and snow talk - I am surely not looking forward to it. I am going to get my "do" done around 1:00 today. Lots of gray mixed in with my brunette color. At least I have hair now. lol Shirley I am happy for you in finding your new set of friends with whom to do things together.
Good Wednesday morning Sandi, JudyE, Shirley, Janet and Jo. It looked so good to have the nest come up on my screen with no snow on it. :) I am hoping that you all don't get too much of that storm headed for the nest. If so, let it be the last one of the winter, so the eagles can stand a chance.
Both off the three beautiful shinny eggs and the sitter flew out. AND the other eagle is carefully taking her place to keep the eggs warm. Shifting the flugg around her until she is satisfied. She is really busy with that flugg; just has to have it right.
1216 punch have to take a extra 27clicks off so Longer lunc . Plus waiting to get my shingles vacc during lunch but have to wait half hour till other pharmacist comes in I was told no wait yesterday Wrong
Good afternoon! Lol. Did not make it for morning as we slept late. We have had some lazy days and more to come. Has been raining. PTL. But, temp is at 45 and dropping, soon to change to sleet and snow. Some schools are dismissing early. Hope Laurel hightails it out of school this afternoon. Wonder if she has made arrangements for Jacob. He usually walks to her school. He spends about 30 minutes doing homework at her desk while she is teaching. Awesome principal to allow this!
Good morning friends Windows open, no jacket and I love the fresh air... Thank you God.
I will go to yoga and then to the town next to hear to drop off posters for Kootenay Rhythm Dragons for our membership drive on the 14th.
Feeling blessed and looking so forward to wearing my linens again...a few more weeks and that is it!!! I will get the snow tires taken off at the end of the month. They refused to do them as the law in BC says snow tires between October and April. Not this year...ha ha ha ha!
Off to yoga and some volunteer work here this morning before the trip to the next town from here...
Make it a good day everyone. Batten down the hatches all for the upcoming storm. MEGAN has an awesome reply to LYNNE on what we should all tell the rodent from Pennsylvania!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha
Hi all. Kids are gone, now a 2 hour and 15 minute break before parents show up. I could go home and come back but it seems like a waste of gas to do that.
Jo, the switch over from rain to sleet/freezing rain/snow doesn't start til about 3am so the drive home tonight at 8pm will be wet but not slippery. The forecast is now calling for 4-8 inches here; I think WV is still supposed to get slammed. I bet our eagles are getting tired of this winter weather as well. I can't go to the Blackwater site anymore - seeing that one lonely unhatched egg in the nest makes me sad all over again.
A bunch of us have ordered pizza for dinner - need to get to the vending machine and buy a drink with some caffeine in it to get me through the evening.
Home from work Turned off computer and back on and I got all the email from yesterday till today Who know what was wrong but that fixed it on and off LOL Don't you wish all could be fixed by turning something on and off LOL
Forgot to say I DID get my shot at lunch today and didn't feel the needle or the med going in When she touched my arm I thought it was the swab and to find out it was the bandage she was done Our pharmacy has just started giving injections within the past year She said they were all so nervous but are better now I told her she had nothing to worry about that I would recommend her for shots she laughed and said thanks
I hope your parent conference night goes well, Sandi. I do remember those days very well. It was nicer when we did not have to teach a full day before the conferences, but that didn't always happen. A very long day.
It feels quite balmy here today. Hunter and I made a grocery run. Got some more fire logs and a platform bird feeder. I've put it out with mealworms and oranges on it just to see what happens. So many robins out there, and they are supposed to like mealworms and oranges.
I just said goodnight to our nest with the head and tail white feathers standing out in the dark of night. Prayers for their safety for tomorrow. I so wish it wouldn't be as bad as what they are forecasting.
Hi, Everyone, The workmen came back to our house today, and cleaned up the rest of the plastic and dust. The house smelled awful because of the chemical they sprayed to prevent mold, so Ken opened up doors and windows and aired it out for a couple of hours. It still smells a bit funny, but the guy said it should dissipate quickly. The company repairing the plumbing will be out tomorrow between 2 and 4 to fix the leak and re-route the pipes through the attic. I have a voice mail message in to the guy in charge of repainting to see how we decide on what paint color(s) to use. Hope I have at least a few hours to decide. Gotta find a color that doesn't make our carpet and upholstered furniture look dirty. A really light paint color could easily do that. Been there before! Don't know yet what kind of floor we will have in that front bedroom. It was peel-and-stick linoleum tile from the 70's (I hated the stuff!). If we are to get something similar, I hope they'll let us go for vinyl flooring that's all one piece, that comes on a roll. Oh--Ken says there's a big crack in our slab in the front bedroom, too. Wonder whether they will fix that. Well, at least we are getting somewhere. I think they have extended our motel stay until Monday if that is necessary. Wow, so much going on at once, our heads are spinning! I don't think they will be able to finish everything before the weekend. Not if they are going to do a decent job of painting, anyway. Well, I've rambled on long enough. Will try to get back here later tonight, but in case I don't, have a good evening. God bless! I love us!
Good to hear from you ANDY so hope they get things done and correctly
watching AI can't see it on Thur Bummer so I have only seen the guys perform I tired looking online to watch online maybe tomorrow but can't seem to find it without want me to sign in using my carrier password I don't have a password that I know of with them maybe something to look into
Good to know things are progressing nicely, Andy. When I start getting a headache, I think it just might mean too much computer time today, so I am saying good night. See you tomorrow. SED.
Schools here have already closed in anticipation of tomorrow's weather.
just checking in...hope everyone is warm and safe. From Lolly to past us the weather is or soon will be a nightmare. Still 39 and rain, pouring rain. Say snow will start after 1am, lasting til around 3pm. This doesn't bode well for my getting to work tomorrow.
POOOR mommy eagles, they must be soaked and now it's gonna snow. Praying that Belle and Codorus mom can hang in there.
I'm reading Giant. Anyone remember the movie LOLLY? It is SO much better than the movie. The movie was so good anyway! But the book has been quite different.
Andy, I'm glad things are moving along. But you and Ken and Emma must be anxious to return to normal routines!
Goodorming my eagle friends. I see Belle getting snowed on in the nest. Still raining here but schools have been closed (snow day #7) and the governor has also closed all state office buildings for the day, so the snow must be headed this way. The temp right now is 38 degrees so no snow until the cold front drops that! But the low for tonight could be 10 degrees so a change is coming.
We are closed and snow started. When I gotupmat 5 there was just a dusting, but we were in a patch with nothing coming down. Now it's steady, pretty much the same as you see at the nest.
I'm still in my pajamas on the couch with the dogs. Tv is going to be boring, all weather, all day.
Good morning to all eagle watchers out there. I don't like what I see at our nest! :( Someone make it stop!
Goodmorning Sandi and DanaMo, I guess. You two are the bright spots on the blog so far today. You just keep warm and stay safe.
Yesderday at obx it was a beautiful, Bermuda short kind of day; sun shining, birds singing and very warm. I even heard an osprey calling, so they are coming back. It is time for that here.
I do hope this is the last time you all have to put up with rotten weather. I think LOLLY should start selling her daffodils to all the snow and freezing rain people to perk up their day. :)
Nothing moving here at the nest; just eagle head and precipitation. I do hope she gets a good breakfast and the eggs stay dry during the change of command.
Good morning Candy! I always look forward to weekends and days off during nesting season so I can have the live feed running all day while I'm working at my computer. But I'm not sure I can watch all day as the snow gets deeper and deeper in the nest!
All I can see right now is a white head against the white snow! Belle did a shake and an egg roll a while ago but now she is completely covered again.
36 degrees here in Bethany - still raining. Switch to snow is supposed to happen around noon and then the snow may continue until about 10pm. Kids are off school tomorrow for teacher inservice. My guess is that we will still be expected to report to school tomorrow, no matter what the roads are like! We shall see.
A big shake off from Belle, a quick egg roll, and she's settling back down. I know she's been on egg sitting duty for a long time but she does it so much better in the snow.
Good morning! Beautiful here! Sun is shining, sky is brilliant blue and we have several inches of snow on top of a good layer of ice! Oh, saw 23 and up to 25! Going up to the 70's next week!
When I posted the last comment Belle got up and shook off and now is covered again ODD its hard to see the snow falling must be powder fine not to see it
Our weather is fantastic gonna go play for a bit and meet Angie for lunch I had a 1 appt but I cancelled it till tomorrow at the bank the other roofer hasn't given quote and although I was gonna transfer money to cover the roof and ac I want to get extra out JUST in CASE a keep in saving for just in case Appt is tomorrow at 1 now
Good snowy morning - I will guess that I have about 5" going on 10. lol
I have so many small birds and squirrels at the snow covered feeders. I had 4 red cardinals awhile ago & in my one tree with the suet block are an estimated 20 huge black birds.
Judy, no metal roof here but I have read a lot about them. Brian and Lynnis have the original metal roof on their house in WV and it was built in 1925. It's just now getting to the point where they need to seriously think about replacing it. You will pay about twice as much for a metal roof - downside. A metal roof will last 3-4 times as long as asphalt shingles - upside.
For Brian and Lynnis, who are young so they could live in the house a long time or, if they don't, they will get better resale value with a metal roof, I think they are smart to spend the extra money for another metal roof. At your age, I don't know that it would be worth the extra expense.
Then again, if you really like the look of a metal roof and you can afford it, then that's the way you should go. Personally, I LOVE the look! When we replace our roof, we will use shingles for most of it and use metal roofing for a few "accents," like on the porches, the turret and the bay in the front of the house.
It's obvious from all of our comments about the nest today, that we are not cut out to be eagles! :)
Belle is up and shaking the snow off of those mighty wings! Unfortunately, when she hopped up, some of the snow that was on her back, fell into the egg cup. But Shep settled on the eggs very quickly and I'm sure his body temperature will melt that snow and warm those eggs up quickly!
Belle is still in the nest and exercising her wings. Fly lady, fly - get some exercise and some food!
Belle is still in the nest - she seems reluctant to leave. You can really see the size difference between the 2 birds with all the white snow in the nest. Shep seems so small.
Oh my, I just turned on the Outdoor Channel and saw our eagles. I could just see a head above all of the snow with the other eagle standing close by. Lots of snow fell into the nest cup when the eagle got up. Shake-off and back on the eggs. with one on the eggs and the other hovering over. I think Belle on the eggs with Shep protecting her. And there's likely much more snow to come. Now a change of the guard. One poofed and the other on the eggs.
Shep finally hopped up and took off and Belle has taken over incubating again without ever leaving the nest. I think this was the eagle equivalent of a woman knowing that, if she wants something done right, she had better do it herself rather thyna expecting her husband to do it to her satisfaction!
I actually slept until noon today. Just could not get to sleep last night. My mind would not stop working.
There was just a dusting of new snow here when I got up, but snow is falling now, though it's not snowing hard. Nothing here like what we're seeing at the nest.
Sandi, I haven't been watching this morning, so I am a little confused about which eagle is which.
Good morning Shirley. Welcome aboard the Polar Express. Thanks Sandi for letting us know about the changes. I just hope the snow that drops into the egg cup is quickly melted and warmed by the next eagle doing duty. My heart goes out to them.
I just got an email from Lynnis that they have about 8 inches of snow in Ranson (very close to Shepherdstown for those of you not familiar). She said it looks like a blizzard outside right now - you can't see anything but blowing snow everywhere. Obviously, Belle knows this snow is serious business and isn't going anywhere. I do wish Shep would bring some food to the nest. Then again, it doesn't sound like very good flying weather for even an eagle and finding food in a snowstorm is probably challenging!
Still a mix of mostly rain with sleet here. It's raining so hard that, if this was snow, we'd probably have 10-12 inches by now! Temps are right at freezing.
At 12:26 there was a switch - I have the pics on my FB page. It looked as though it was Belle getting up from the eggs and Shep getting on them. I could be wrong - As long as they stay covered is all that matters.
Wind is picking up here perhaps it will blow all the snow out of our nest. I wish ♥
Jo, if you read back, I posted at 12:24 that Shep arrived and he and Belle switched. But Belle never left the nest and at 12:36, I posted that Shep got back up off the eggs and took off and Belle resumed egg sitting. I was watching the whole time. This is Belle still on the eggs.
It's like she knows she is better equipped to keep the eggs warm and dry. So Shep is just standing over her and occasionally picking at the snow on Belle's back.
Now Belle is up and Shep is quickly rolling the eggs and settling on them. It looks like Belle finally took off for a break while I was looking at the keyboard.
Saw the switch just now. Had no idea which each was which! But the eagle that flew I was literally tugging at the eagle in the nest and covered with snow. I saw it grab feathers at the back of the neck and that eagled jiggled! OMG! They finally switched and when the eagle shook off the snow some went into the eggcup. groan!!
Just went out to fill the bird feeders and went to see if the mail had come. No mail but saw lots of animal tracks. Recognized bunny tracks. Also saw some tracks I wondered about. Armadillo??? There were foot prints but also and interesting tail dragging prints. Hmmmm??? Yes,I like going outa d walking inthe snow.
Also, interesting was 1/2 inch of snow on the patio table. The patio is covered! The table is about 4 ft in. Yes, the wind was strong last night!
Kathryn called Hunter and told him that she will be coming home about three, so she should be on the way now. You know it is really bad when she comes home early.
slept late today as I knew that work wouldn't open til noon and I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be going in. it rained here til about 7 last night then the ice started....and sometime during the night the snow.
I got up about 5 a.m. to take dogs out and it was snowing. we ended up with probably close to 3" on top of a fine film of ice.
its been a quiet day. I did go out and clean the car off so hopefully I will go to work tomorrow. there was a very heavy coating of ICE and it took a bit to get it cleaned off. I figured would be easier today rather than wait til tomorrow when it is frozen solid.
school work done.....I worked on some craft projects.
was very excited last night. Tuatha Dea was performing at the Hard Rock over in Pigeon Forge (and yes I wanted to go!!!!!). They came in 1st in battle of the bands with 491 out of 500 possible points. The next is March 25. They are competing for the opportunity to go Barcelona, Spain and perform there!
They started their tour again today. They are in Maryland. I don't enjoy the weather they had to drive in.
About 4 inches of snow here now and still coming down. Temps have dropped into the 20s.
I am happy to see that the snow has stopped in Shepherdstown. Our eagles did just fine! We were just video chatting with Brian and Freyja - he said they got about a foot of snow.
Need to throw something together for dinner. Later!
Headed into the TV for awhile. Plow was by and road looks pretty good. I do think the wind has picked up some but perhaps no drifts will be made. I'm sure we have a bit more then a foot. The snow blowing neighbors took care of our drive again. Hubby does the deck.
Good evening or late night eagle buds Had a great night with family just got home in middle of uploading pic from gym and will do pic I took of the pretty moon rise tonight
Already down to 27. Going to be some slick spots tomorrow. 70's next week! Lots of snowmen built around here and lots of sledding. A real treat for the kids! But, back to school tomorrow.
Time to think about my pj's and pillow! Night all! SED!
Well I need to make a decision. Invited to house sit for six weeks. A huge responsibility as I experienced last time. Helping out friends. Also a Staycation by the lake.
Goodorming my eagle friends. 18 degrees here with a wind chill of 0! We got about 5 new inches of snow - flurries continued til about 9pm. Teacher inservice today has been canceled but the district didn't call until 6am this morning to announce it.
I see a sleeping eagle in our nest.
Hoda, I think house sitting would be a nice change.
Shirley, any idea how all of Hunter's snow days will be made up? I'm guessing he will be home again today?
I'm not sure how all of the days will be made up, Sandi. I know that some days on the calendar are designated as make-up days. The would be days off if not needed for make-up days. Last year, they added time to each school day.
Poor Luna. It is so cold on her doggy feet. I took her out front briefly so she could take care of her business. She wanted to roam about, but I made her come in. She had trouble just getting up the steps and across the porch and kept picking up her feet. She needs to have a spot outdoors cleared down to the grass. I don't think doggy shoes would work for her, even if they exist in basset size.
School canceled here as well. They actually made the call last night, very unusual. Yesterday and today were PD for St. Mary's so we luck out and it doesn't count against our kids, not so for the public school. I think they have gone over the alloted days. Personally I'm bored. I'll probably stay in my pajamas and eat junk food all day! Lol! Nest looks good. Just need to melt that snow and hopefully not get anymore!
Good Friday morning Shirley and Sandi. Glad that you are safe and warm and that our eagles are still hanging in there. Let's hope this is the last snow storm they have to go through.
Dana I noticed on TV last night about your cancellation - Thought about you having another boring day - You need a button project! HODA - I know you enjoyed your house sitting last year - I guess the time element of 6 weeks makes you think harder on the offer.
Good Morning Eagle Buds forgot to say that before I scurry out the door back now Have a appt at 1 with the back can't find my ss card oh well another form of ID then Passport I guess will do I keep them all them in the same place and not there HMMMMM
I guess I have found a needed project in our Yahoo Eaglet Momsters events!!!!! There is a Reminder block that wasn't filled in like "a DAY AHEAD" notice. That is why the announcement of the birthday wasn't sent automatically......... Guess the entire year needs to be checked out......... Sorry it was overlooked
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SHAR. What a blessing for me to be friends with you. Have a great year.
Six weeks is easier than three months for a staycation. Shorter on the experience of responsibility for otger people's home. I promised to go to Vancouver in May as a Library Board member, so we have to work that out, I will keep you posted.
LOVE YOU JUDIE MISS YOU JUDIE My birthday is each day for the rest of this month! Oh my! What a friend has to do to get you to make an appearance! How many years old will that make me??? No matter. Good to read your words. Thank you SHAR for having a birthday.
Belle just arrived with a big stick. Shep is egg sitting. Let's see who stays.
Shar, I know I wished you a happy birthday on Facebook, but I'll say it again here - ♫ Happy birthday to you!! ♫
Have been sitting here doing school work all morning. nice to have the live cam up and to see sun shining on the nest. When I video chatted with Brian and Freyja yesterday, Brian said today is supposed to be VERY cold but a warm-up was to start on Saturday.
Sun is shining here but it's still so cold that not much melting is happening today.
Dear Friends, just a note that I certainly have been checking our miracle birds, but Google thinks I'm a robot and will not accept my password for doing any posts lately!!! Very frustrating, but will try to fix it. Having some other 'puter problems, so may have to get w/techie today! My prayers to everyone to stay Well & Warm Loretta
From GLO on FB: Looks like voting has resumed in the Photo contest. I am real hesitant to vote on my own picture very often BUT just wanted you yo know. Blizzard Bear has lots of votes but I do see another approaching the 200 mark so some voting is coming alive on the site once again.
If you are on FB - go to Eaglet Momsters page as I have placed the Polar Bear voting there.
I didn't show up here last night because I was over at the house while the workmen re-routed the leaky pipe up through the attic. That's one pipe under the slab that we won't have to worry about. They did an excellent job. We have running water again!!! Now we have the workmen coming to fix the holes in the drywall today, and replace the molding and chair rails. Ken is at the house waiting for them to show up. He's turned the sprinkler system back on, started a load of wash (one of probably 10 or so LOL), and ran the dishwasher. That thing was so full we could not have fit another spoon in there if our lives depended on it!
Right now I'm chillin' with Emma at the motel and waiting for the paint guy to call me back.
I'm amazed at how our eagles manage in all that snow! It's a wonder they haven't turned into giant icicles by now. God really knew what He was doing when He created feathers. Really hoping it warms up for Belle, Shep, and the 3 eggberts, however.
Oh, before I forget, can anyone give me the link to the Momsters e-mail? Somehow my shortcut to it got deleted, and it's no longer in my Favorites. I have no idea what happened, but I'm not happy about it! Thanks in advance.
I'd better get going now. I need to rid Emma of an "armpit" mat that's definitely not supposed to be there. (Her hair is SO fine and soft that it can knot up literally overnight.) She's not chasing her tennis ball right now, so it's my chance to sneak up on her! Have a safe and warm day, and remember our rule about no falling, with all that ice out there. I should be back later tonight with another update. I ♥ us!!! P.S.--Judie, I miss you!
Jo, I got a shot of the 3 eggs this morning when there was a switch. It looks pretty identical to the one that eagle Cam posted around 11am. What would you like me to do with it?
Hi gang. This is another test to see if I can outfox Google! It didn't tell me to Sign out, so let's see if it will take my password or let me change it!! DUH

Thanks for the new thread, Steve, and for the call-over Lynne1.
Brought this over from the old thread:

I see a fish and what looks to be a steak in the nest this morning. Looks to be Belle sitting on the eggs.
Bowling today, and I hope lunch with my buddies afterward.
Winter weather forecast has been changed a bit. We should get some precipitation this afternoon. And it sounds like more will come later in the week.

I spent a bit of time out doing yard maintenance stuff yesterday. it was nice just to get to be in the sun!!!!!
back to work tomorrow. rain,snow/sleet anticipated for tomorrow. fickle, fickle march!
love and hugs to all.
Good morning all. I see food in nest. Thanks for new thread Steve. Congrats on your feather Lynne. Talk later.
Good morning to all ♥
Just now signing on to this fresh new thread - Thank you Steve.
I just checked Panda cam 2 and there she is lying on her back and shaking her treat ball !
Both eagles in the nest
One of my FB friends saw Bao Bao
climb down early morning hours....
"Bless her heart... she did it!! It is 2:20am and she climbed down! "
Later!
I think I missed some action because now the "leg of deer" has been moved and I didn't see it being done.
There was just a fly in - both eagles at the nest
Good afternoon eagle buds
Thanks for the new thread Steve
Still morning here by a few minutes!
And not entry mix, wintry mix! Geeeesh!
Lolly that shirt is worth wearing back home to Alamo one day!
Lolly my hearing aids are very comfortable - I haven't yet gone in for the fine tuning. Hope Jack is still satisfied with his.
Shirley I hope you are having a good bowling day and definitely have lunch with your friends. This afternoon you may need to get on home for another indoor stay until this storm gets out of here
I wish that more dry flugg would be brought into the nest
Good Afternoon Eagle Buds!!!
Prayers for all in need!

There are so many open fields around NCTC and there are also Bales (rolls) of hay (straw) that the farmers' fields have. That is were I
was hoping our eagles would find some flugg. I think Belle is in our nest now - with her head tucked - it is windy up there.
Lisa - Webmaster has updated the eagle Cam Log
https://blackwatereaglecam.wordpress.com/
A very sad end to the season for Blackwater eagles. We'll never know all the reasons such things happen. Will hope for a happier scene there next year. Meantime there is their osprey season to look forward to!
Thanks, JO, of course I can't picture those bales of hay, etc.. I've just assumed the flugg is chiefly local grasses.
Good afternoon.
Beautiful warm sun shinny day!
Blogger is not sending posts even though I checked the box.
Maybe I need to write too.
Here goes.
Evening all. According to one weather site on Facebook, our eagle nest could get dumped on with the next storm Wednesday night into Thursday - could get 5-8" or even >8"! Forecasts here say 1-3" or 3-5" depending on which one I check out.
Die winter, die!!
So far now at almost 6pm the weather is holding up! I think I'm hearing that Thursday will be the big test of survival with large amount of snow. However' just like today it could all change and be SPRING ♥
Hard to believe we're turn clocks ahead this Saturday before going to bed.
Well it used to be Terrific Tues TV tonight BUT NCIS is rerun so I have
chosen 3 other shows.
I will try to return BUT just in case:
Everyone enjoy your evening
GoodNight to all ♥
Meatloaf in the oven and now thinking about reading for a while.
His hearing aids signaled this evening that the batteries were running down. He thinks they went out too soon! Hmmm?
Hi,Everyone,
We are indeed happy to be staying at the Marriott Residence Inn!
RE NESTING A CHICK about a month old and a cutie
Good evening,
Yes, Jo, they told him that and that is what he does each night.
Apparently we are going to get a lot of ice starting tomorrow. Yuck!
Dinner was good. Had not made a meatloaf for a while and enjoyed it with a baked sweet potato.
Watched The Voice. Really enjoy that program.
Going to say good night! That time of day! Night all! SED
Good Morning Eagle Buds
ODD HODA I also am not getting my email to me noticed that I have none in mail box HMMMM what is up with that

hugs for all
Good morning,
Had a leisurely breakfast after getting Hunter off to school this morning. Our weather forecast sounds similar to yours, Sandi.
What's been called the "leg of deer" is now at the 5:00 spot. It's been moved all around the nest.
Eagle in the nest very restless. Moving lots of flugg.
Going to see what's happening at my email after reading other posts here.
My email seems to be okay.
Good Wednesday morning to all ♥
I think the restless eagle in the nest hears all this rain, sleet and snow talk - I am surely not looking forward to it.
I am going to get my "do" done around
1:00 today. Lots of gray mixed in with my brunette color. At least I have hair now. lol
Shirley I am happy for you in finding your new set of friends with whom to do things together.
Sandy - I hope you get home tonight before it gets too bad outside. I bet if the weather gets bad the parents will stay home.
Two birds now in nest. I think one might have brought more flugg?
Looks like the bigger of the two eagles, so it must be Belle. Working in the nest at the 12 o'clock position. Other parent still on eggs just watching
Both off the three beautiful shinny eggs and the sitter flew out. AND the other eagle is carefully taking her place to keep the eggs warm. Shifting the flugg around her until she is satisfied. She is really busy with that flugg; just has to have it right.
Yes, lots of flugg moving going on there, Candy. They will need all of that protection if the weather forecast holds true.
1216 punch have to take a extra 27clicks off so
Longer lunc .
Still getting exercise by walking with the DVD.
Good morning friends
Windows open, no jacket and I love the fresh air...
Ha Ha Ha Ha
Good afternoon,
Getting ready to go do errands.
Looks like Belle(?) in the middle of a lot of fresh flugg. Wondering if they have a link to the weather forecast.
I'm back from getting a haircut
The rains have arrived... 45°
Going to put my feet up a bit... ♥
Later all.
Home and just waiting for the cold temperatures to come in. Seems crazy that they are calling for 8-12 when the current temp is 53!
It has been raining steadily and now the fog has rolled into the valley.
Temp is 43°
The nest has a beautiful wingspread protecting the eggs.
Home from work Turned off computer and back on and I got all the email from yesterday till today Who know what was wrong but that fixed it on and off LOL Don't you wish all could be fixed by turning something on and off LOL
I see a beautiful mumbrella that could only be BELLE
I see temp is 47° at the nest
clunk on camera housing
Forgot to say I DID get my shot at lunch today and didn't feel the needle or the med going in
When she touched my arm I thought it was the swab and to find out it was the bandage she was done
Our pharmacy has just started giving injections within the past year She said they were all so nervous but are better now I told her she had nothing to worry about that I would recommend her for shots she laughed and said thanks
I see the mumbrella, Judy.
I hope your parent conference night goes well, Sandi. I do remember those days very well. It was nicer when we did not have to teach a full day before the conferences, but that didn't always happen. A very long day.
Glad you got your shot taken care of, Judy.
I saw what looked to be some kind of insect flying above the nest. Odd.
Hi, Everyone,
The workmen came back to our house today, and cleaned up the rest of the plastic and dust.
God bless! I love us!
take care Andy and please keep giving us your updates when possible.
Headed in to watch Jeopardy.......
Good to hear from you ANDY so hope they get things done and correctly
watching AI can't see it on Thur Bummer so I have only seen the guys perform I tired looking online to watch online maybe tomorrow but can't seem to find it
without want me to sign in using my carrier password I don't have a password that I know of with them maybe something to look into
Good to know things are progressing nicely, Andy. When I start getting a headache, I think it just might mean too much computer time today, so I am saying good night. See you tomorrow. SED.
Schools here have already closed in anticipation of tomorrow's weather.
Going to sign off early this evening
The rain is still heavy but the temp is still 40°. Same temp at the nest
Everyone have a good evening
Stay dry! I'm not sure what I will see outside tomorrow morning.
Goodnight to all ♥
hi all!
just checking in...hope everyone is warm and safe.
Will check in in the AM. Stay safe everyone!
Oh, man! It is 30, temp still dropping and sleet( or is it freezing rain), is falling fast and furiously!!
Watching school closings on TV, waiting to see if Denton and Ponder will close.
Our world is white again! Yours is coming! Hang in there, stay warm.
Night all! SED!
Have agreat day all.
On to FB for a bit.
Nothing moving here at the nest; just eagle head and precipitation. I do hope she gets a good breakfast and the eggs stay dry during the change of command.
OMG I can hardly see the poor eagle on the nest. :(
Good morning Candy!
I know she's been on egg sitting duty for a long time but she does it so much better in the snow.
good morning eagle buds
NOT LIKING THE NEST WITH AL THAT WHITE STUFF IN IT POOR EAGLES
MAKES ME SO SAD SO SILLY HUH
Good morning! Beautiful here! Sun is shining, sky is brilliant blue and we have several inches of snow on top of a good layer of ice! Oh, saw 23 and up to 25! Going up to the 70's next week!
When I posted the last comment Belle got up and shook off and now is covered again ODD its hard to see the snow falling must be powder fine not to see it
Our weather is fantastic gonna go play for a bit and meet Angie for lunch I had a 1 appt but I cancelled it till tomorrow at the bank the other roofer hasn't given quote and although I was gonna transfer money to cover the roof and ac I want to get extra out JUST in CASE a keep in saving for just in case
Appt is tomorrow at 1 now
we are 76° for got to add 64° lo tonight 75°
Hard to look at the nest! Not feeling good about the eggs! Look at that wonderful eagle mommy!
check out GOOGLE
LOLLY I agree with you I get teary eyed looking at the nest Yes I know they are resilient and have done in past
heading out check ya later
What can I say - SHAKE OFF TIME
Good snowy morning - I will guess that I have about 5" going on 10. lol
I have so many small birds and squirrels at the snow covered feeders. I had 4 red cardinals awhile ago & in my one tree with the suet block are an estimated 20 huge black birds.
Prayers for all to stay safe ♥
QUESTION forgot to ask as I heading out I remembered
DO any of you have a METAL roof toss up between that and a shingle
check back in later after lunch and gym later with Jordyn
Shep has arrived at the nest. Poor Belle is completely snow covered except for her head!
Hello everyone,
Oh my, I just turned on the Outdoor Channel and saw our eagles.
Rain is quickly changing to ice here in Bethany.
Okay, that is what I thought, too. It's Belle on the eggs. I hope Shep has gone for food.
Snow is quickly covering Belle again. Oh my.
I wish ♥
Eagle covered with snow. Still hanging on.
No problem Sandi - I just thought that it was Belle flapping her wings and taking off. Like I said - as long as they are covered I'm happy.
Shep is back in the nest.
What a touching show of eagle devotion! Shep seems to be trying to get Belle to get up and take a break! Belle doesn't seem to want to budge!
I feel assured that between the two of them that we will for sure make it through the storm ♥
I missed the switch. Been getting food for myself and the birds at my house.
So, this is Shep. You can see he does not quite fill the hole in the snow Belle left.
I have an abundance of birds in my back yard. I don't think they have yet discovered there's food on my front porch as well.
Please excuse typos. On iPad and forget to enlarge and check typing. Or should I say pecking!
Kathryn called Hunter and told him that she will be coming home about three, so she should be on the way now. You know it is really bad when she comes home early.
Kathryn is safely home. She said it was scary.
I really think that I don't see anymore snowflakes coming down
I pray that means the storm has passed...
Dana and Megan have reported that the snow has stopped in their areas.
Almost time for Chili!
If interested I would say I have a foot and a little bit more of snow
Still snowing here. Roads are treacherous.
good afternoon to all.
slept late today as I knew that work wouldn't open til noon and I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be going in. it rained here til about 7 last night then the ice started....and sometime during the night the snow.
I am glad to just stay in and home today!
Hope everyone is safe, warm and well!
It looks like it has finally stopped snowing at the nest? If it has we now pray for a warm melting day tomorrow.
Our eagles have done a fine job all day; we can be proud of them.
Well I am off to choir practice. Everyone stay safe and warm.
This storm moved fast and has warmed up today. Presently 47 , still sunny, and the snow and ice have melted fast! However, going to re freeze tonight!
Hope it melts just as fast for all of you!
Good evening Eagle Buds!!!
Jus' checkin' and see that weather is THE concern for most of us, including our dear eagle family.
We're looking at a good warm up by this time next week! Yeah! Meantime hang in there and stay warm!
Prayers for all in need!!!

Belle has arrived for her
night time duty!
Nice switch.
Worried that one egg was trampled on.
Belle seemed to roll them all, so all must be well.
Heard someone on camera casing. Shep I am sure.
Settled in for the Night.
Good night.
Glad KATHRYN is off the road SHIRLEY
Stuttered!
Later!
Snow seems to have stopped here. Plenty it came down.
Headed into the TV for awhile.
Plow was by and road looks pretty good. I do think the wind has picked up some but perhaps no drifts will be made. I'm sure we have a bit more then a foot. The snow blowing neighbors took care of our drive again. Hubby does the deck.

Hanover Eagles
Susan put the above link on my Timeline. Looks like our nest.
Happy Full Worm Moon Night!
Don't think we'll be seein' any worms tonight.
My goodness, my Codorus aka Hanover eagles seem to be all over my newsfeed today!
Well, I have some dried mealworms, Lynne2.
Well, I have some dried mealworms, Lynne2.
Okay, well the link I tried to put in is now working. I will try again.

Hanover Eagle link . . .
I am not going to try to make a blue link out of it.
Time to head upstairs. SED, everyone.
Saying a prayer for all of the wild critters out there in the cold and snow tonight.
Good evening or late night eagle buds Had a great night with family

Goodnight
All is well
Just snooze off watching TV
I just noticed also you can sort of see the snow in the nest with the full moon tonight just barley I said
Watched some TV tonight.
Meditating on it.
Good night
Goodorming my eagle friends. 18 degrees here with a wind chill of 0! We got about 5 new inches of snow - flurries continued til about 9pm. Teacher inservice today has been canceled but the district didn't call until 6am this morning to announce it.
I see a sleeping eagle in our nest.
Hoda, I think house sitting would be a nice change.
Shirley, any idea how all of Hunter's snow days will be made up? I'm guessing he will be home again today?
Have agreat day all.
Good morning,
I'm not sure how all of the days will be made up, Sandi. I know that some days on the calendar are designated as make-up days. The would be days off if not needed for make-up days. Last year, they added time to each school day.
I saw our eagle sitting in all of that snow.
Nine degrees here.
And, yes, Hunter is home a.gain today
again
Pardon typos--on smartphone
Sun is shining on the nest. Eagle down very low in the snow.
Two eagles in the nest.
Three eggs in a bare spot at the bottom of the egg cup. Changing of the guard. Looking good so far.
Egg roll.
Good Friday morning Shirley and Sandi. Glad that you are safe and warm and that our eagles are still hanging in there. Let's hope this is the last snow storm they have to go through.
Hey there DanaMo. Didn't see you out there.
Our schools here had a 2 hour delay today. Must have had some icy roads on the mainland. No make up day for them!
There is good news at the nest. The sun is brightly shining on it. Melt snow, melt.
Good Sunny Red Friday morning to all ♥
Dana I noticed on TV last night about your cancellation - Thought about you having another boring day - You need a button project!
HODA - I know you enjoyed your house sitting last year - I guess the time element of 6 weeks makes you think harder on the offer.
Sandi - Candy and Shirley - Have a relaxing day.
Happy Birthday to our
Eagle Eyed Sharon

I guess I have found a needed project in our Yahoo Eaglet Momsters
events!!!!! There is a Reminder
block that wasn't filled in like "a DAY AHEAD" notice. That is why the announcement of the birthday wasn't sent automatically......... Guess the entire year needs to be checked out......... Sorry it was overlooked
Happy birthday, Sharon.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SHAR.
What a blessing for me to be friends with you.
Have a great year.
Six weeks is easier than three months for a staycation. Shorter on the experience of responsibility for otger people's home. I promised to go to Vancouver in May as a Library Board member, so we have to work that out,
I will keep you posted.
Stay safe everyone.
Glad schools are cancelled.
Off for volunteer work and yoga.
Eagle off the nest and three white eggs showing bright.
eagle up chirp and fly off egg alone
And back and back down on the nest cup.

MISS YOU JUDIE
My birthday is each day for the rest of this month!
Oh my! What a friend has to do to get you to make an appearance! How many years old will that make me???
No matter. Good to read your words. Thank you SHAR for having a birthday.
Parent back with a stick for nest and no food.
Sitting at the 11 o'clock position just looking around. He should walk around the nest and try to tamp down some of that snow!!!
Has anyone speculated yet on when the first hatch will take place? Both eagles still in nest.
Belle departs and Shep still on eggs.
Dear Friends, just a note that I certainly have been checking our miracle birds, but Google thinks I'm a robot and will not accept my password for doing any posts lately!!! Very frustrating, but will try to fix it. Having some other 'puter problems, so may have to get w/techie today!
My prayers to everyone to stay Well & Warm
Loretta
Good morning! However may be afternoon here by the time I post this.
Very cold last night, 23, but already up to 46. Snow continues to melt away! Going to venture out today. Have errands to run.
🎉🎈Happy Birthday, Sharon!🎈🎉. Wishing you a great day and great year to come!
Peeked into the cam. Saw eagle sitting in snow. Yuck!
Hoda, the same lake home as last time? Sounds great to me!
Have a great Friday!
From GLO on FB:
Looks like voting has resumed in the Photo contest.
Hi, Everyone,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHAR! HAVE A SPECTACULAR DAY! ♥♥♥
Thanks everybody for my birthday wishes.
I LOVE US!

Whenever there is a switch and you are watching - please capture a pic of the eggs when they are visible - Thx
DUH
Hooray!!! It let me on with no trouble so I can wish SHARON, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY and EVERY DAY!!!♥♥♥
I know bird in nest now is wet, but could that be Shep's old dark head spot showing?
Hi Loretta, welcome back to the blog!
