Quick check in and I see a new thread. Thanks Steve and thanks Jo for the call over.
Wanted to let everyone know that my students and I watched a feeding at the nest at 8am this morning. The kids loved seeing that little ball of fluff being fed, even without the Smartboard. We were all crowded around my desktop monitor!
And I did figure out what I was hearing. I had a YouTube video running since I was still linked there. By the time I got to it, it was Deb's highlights of 2013.
Thanks for a new thread. Thanks Jo and congrats on a feather. I will check out videos, etc after work. Sandi - glad you and your students shared the eagles today. Sounds like a great time for you and them. Candy - yes I like UNC...son is named for Dean Smith. Hope they keep moving in NCAA. I was surprised they have done so well. The few games I've watched they struggled. Talk later.
In the nano seconds I can see the nest, it reminds of the seen from The Godfather: "It's an old Sicilian message. It means Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes."
This cam thing is SO annoying. Thinking maybe my internet connection? I dunno!
Oh, Jo, thank you so much. I just realized I could do this stuff right from my phone through YouTube. One of my sons helped me set up that YouTube account years ago.
Okay, Judie, is Durst a flight risk? I would surely think so. He has bunches of money that could take him anywhere.
Lovely sunshine on the nest and the mom/dad who is babysitting. Thanks to all who have been able to see another egg with pip.
Shirley, yes. Durst is definitely a flight risk. The amount of publicity reduces the potential for successful escape but with his resources (private jet, money, surgeons, etc.) it is possible.
Back to the scullery. Making a pot of chili for tonight w/cornbread.
Pip, Pip Hooray! So happy to know we have one eaglet and another about to emerge!
Thanks to those concerned about me. I knew Sat. a.m. that something was amiss with me, but managed to work Meals on Wheels with Julie before giving in to it. One of those 24 hour bugs---at least the worst of it---still not running on all cylinders, but I'm okay.
It's taken several sessions to catch up on e-mail and this blog, but little by little....
Thanks to all our fine "reporters"---your imagery is good and I can picture it all!
One would think that the publicity would make it harder for Durst to escape, but this is the man who has masks, as I recall. That makes me think he is at least considering hiding his identity. And, I would hate to think what might happen to anyone who ID's him. Lock him up, please.
good afternoon all! I have had some time (made some time) to watch the EAGLES today! I carried my laptop with me throughout the house!
Its been busy around here. Kids came over yesterday for a grill out and to get some rocks. I know that sounds really weird, but remember we have this large pile of rocks from the pool going in just under 2 years ago. They want to use some of the rocks for making flower bed boarders.
Amelia stayed the night (GD) and I had plans for today; but the best laid plans 'o mice and men... and all that jazz. Livvy woke with a stomach bug. Not a pretty morning.
It really skee-wonkied up my day...but I've gotten most everything done. Just had to stop in the middle of the day and take Amelia home. :/
But we had fun prior to that. She ran errands with me. She gave me a pedicure and I gave her a manicure and we had time to just chat. love that kiddo.
Such a glorious day today. I am going to try to get outside in a bit once the laundry is caught up! Sheesh!
Tom is on spring break. He went for an MRI earlier today. His shoulder is still hurting from last summer when we were tubing down the Pigeon River in Gatlinburg SOOOOO lets see what's going on there.
Well this afternoon 2 daughters and 2 sons (with spouses) and then a granddaughter and a grandson, all 8 great grandchildren were there ! Very well organized with Pizza and Cupcakes and jelly beans and then the egg hunt. Candies and trinkets in those plastic eggs were the highlight of the day.
Intruders seem to know that when the eaglets hatch, that is a good time to try to take over the nest. Too many eagles and not enough nests/mates. I'm just not sure but it is scary when the residence eagle(s) are sending out alarms.
Early but Sandperson is fussing around in the closet. Wants to be on the way early. Needs to visit the momsters/dadsters but also has to race around to check on eggbert in between. Claims this is a high-stress time of year. Well, no kidding. Duh!
I'll try to get the video on FB Momsters and OC, Jo. Had to go to baseball practice and then fix dinner. Wasn't smart enough to cut up the chicken and do some stuff ahead of time, so I was running around trying to get everything done at the last minute.

Goodorming my eagle friends. Busy day today - won't have any time to watch the cam at school so will have to rely on reports from all of you if we get another chick today.
Have agreat day all. Safe travels to Lolly, Jack, and Skippi!
Good Tuesday morning Sandi JudyE and Shirley. No sun shining on the nest this morning. Hope it comes out soon.
Breakfast is ready and waiting or has already been served. Three fish in the nest just waiting to be eaten.
I think I saw where Jo saw a pip in another egg last night. Yeah! Maybe we'll have our second hatch today!
Had a busy day yesterday afternoon so never did get back on. I did see pics of feedings. :)
Parent just looked down under but couldn't if we have another bobble head. It Upon her getting up and looking again there might be another one under there. Lst time I thought I saw 2 eggs. This time it looked like 2 fuzzys. I am not sure. Will keep watching in hopes for a clear look see.
Something is really bothering them. They are still calling. Poof went one. Parent now off and there are 2 TWO bobble heads!I only see one egg and the live cam is frozen on me.

Got my live cam back on and parent is back on the babies. I am sure there were two heads sticking up. All seems quiet not on the nest. Must have been something near by that was upsetting them.
Eagle back, but still looking around. The camera just bounced around and sounds like eagle might have landed as it is frantically calling out again. One is the nest is silent.
Camera just shook again, so parent must have poofed. Eagle in nest with her head in nest getting things straight in the egg cup. Back to the cam now, so hard to see.
aww was at the neighbors for coffee and 'oh wait for it" not dog treats YET" but in 2 more days. I can hardly wait. Congrats to our royal pair on 2 babies and 4 whales. Lots can happen when you head for coffee.

I'll welcome the others over

Good morning again!!
Thanks for the new thread, Steve, and for the call-over, Jo.
I am hearing all kinds of eagle talk. Not sure if it is a video playing or what. Trying to figure it out.
So glad your students got to see the feeding, Sandi. I always enjoyed showing the eagles to my students. And the bears as well.
Shirley, your video of the feeding turned out to be fantastic. Thanks
for sharing !
Today this Mema is going to Jennifer's for an Easter Egg hunt with her greats! Beautiful day and the family fun will make my day!
And I did figure out what I was hearing. I had a YouTube video running since I was still linked there. By the time I got to it, it was Deb's highlights of 2013.
Enjoy your visit, Mema Jo.
I've been looking for Deb Stecyk!
Kay is ok - did have some virus - she'll be here - not to worry.
Shirley - FB Eaglet Momsters needs your video & so does OD site - it is great
Glo your picture is really good
Hope another hatch happens but there were 3 days in between `1st and 2nd egg being laid.
Both in nest
Time to switch
There was a switch
and a fly out
Now both back in the nest and one having more breakfast fish
Thanks Steve for the new thread and thanks Jo for the call over.
Jo now I don't want you picking up all the hidden eggs before the children can get them. :) You have a great time!
You get the feather today Jo. :) Congratulations.
Shirley, so glad to hear I have another Tar Heel fan on here. I just saw that WVJerry posted last night that he was one also.
yes, there are a few of us around, Candy. :)
I see we have a small whale in the nest.

Wow. Just checked Cam. Looks like someone had a great day fishing on the river.
Shirley - sorry for leaving you out of the Tar Heel conversation.
Checking in here before I go to a meeting. Glad Sandi's students were able to see the Eagles. Off to check the cam. Hope everyone has a good day.
Pre-lunch feeding taking place!
Also a switch - Only see the 1 in egg cup for now
Hi Jo,
Came over from my games to see baby. Missed the feeding.
Made a short video.
Hi Shirley
You are getting very professional with your short videos! Love them.

"Sleeping with the fishes."
Well, this probably does not apply to one sleeping in an eagle nest among fishes one has yanked out of the water.
I see a PIP. In another egg.
I think that is a pip in the egg beside the baby.
I do too Jerry!
I am pretty sure one egg has a hole in it. Hopefully someone else is watching to confirm.
Thanks Shar. Glad you're here. Never seen this part of the eagles process.
It is a pretty amazing process.
I've got to go back to work soon. I'm always glad when a Momster is here to report.
Yes Sharon it surely is. Take care.

Hello, Kay!!
Glad you are feeling better. We have been missing you.
Nest is sunny. Whale is being eaten. Eagle is sitting pretty.
Oh my, eagle calls. Big time.
Poof. Baby and eggs alone.
Adult has returned. Eggs have been rolled. I suppose something had to be chased away.
I just saw the cutest little poop shoot. :)
Short video--Baby visible when parent took off briefly. Interesting to see how much stronger this little one looks.

Great to see you Shirley. At least someone to verify that we now have two eaglets!

Candy,I just told my phone to the computer.
First parent flew off leaving one parent to feed and keep everything warm and toasty. Wiggle, wiggle and back down to sitting on the egg cup.
Love love the tag team feeding. Just so fun to watch them care for their young.
Tag team feeding
Good morning my eagle budlets. I had a feeling I would see another baby this morning. Loved watching Belle and Shep feed them together.
I LOVE US!
OOOOO YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!!!
Good morning.
Congratulations to Belle and Shep on the hatching of their second eaglet. Pantry looks as if serious foraging has been accomplished.
Shirley, have a good time bowling. May your team win.
Wishing everyone a lovely day.
Good morning on this terrific Tuesday for TWO PEEPS !
Very exciting this morning...
So happy the hatches are close together!
I need to read comments (I received an email about the hatch and about the pip in the 3rd egg). And over I go to FB for pics first..
Parent is off egg. Eaglets were sleeping, but one is a bobbling now, and then two. One egg still to go.
Shirley, I haven't got one of those fancy phones yet. Don't want to waste the money, as I don't know if I could work it or not.
Thanks Glo for posting pictures of the two.
Good morning Judie, Jo, Shirley, and Lynn2. It is about time everyone started to get on here :) to see our two lovelies.
That is it for the feeding. I guess their little tummies are only just so big. :)
Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!
What a beautiful sight it is to see that full pantry and to know there are two little eggberts under that warm brood patch! Now on the final pip watch...
So glad to see a dry nest. I think the inch of snow we got overnight was on a northeastern track. Would like to see Sycamore Palace remain snow free for the rest of this parenting season!
Need to read back n' see what you're all up to.
Aw, tag team feeding! Norfolk Mom and Dad of old used to do that a lot--such a sweet, sweet scene. Shep is becoming quite the role model father!
Whoa! I saw them both
What a blessing
Great pics over on Eagle Cam FB by Debi.
Happy happy dance
Aha, time for another feeding! Two very eager and active chicks! Beautiful!
Glo's pics are fantastic
Love the feeding by both adults
Can't tell if there is a pip on the third egg or if it's just flugg.
Snack time over.
I am calling it a pip from looking and then a pic from Debi......
Okay, I'm happy to concur--a pip it is! Eggciting? You betcha!
Good morning all. Congrats Candy. Great reporting on nest activities. I'll check Facebook at lunch. On short break now.
