JudyE---not too fear----conpanies don't offer FluZone---they can't get it as cheaply as they do the injectable! Plus too many people can't take it. So you report in the morning for your initial instructions for jury duty? Fun, fun... :(
Hail to the Redskins. Hail victory. Hail to the Redskins. Fight for old D.C. Go Skins.
Hoda, you had me literally laughing out loud. Sure wish you would do the Sunday game play-by-play for us each week.
Thelma, it does feel good. It's been a long, long time since there was a sense of team spirit and working together for a goal. Long over due.
Bet Lynn's cacciatore tastes a whole bunch better than our hamburgers. I even added a dollop of Yippee-Skins-Victory Sauce but it was still just hamburger on a bun.
Speaking of buns, I figured the Skins' cheerleaders were taking the short-cut name "Skins" literally. Well, we'll see what happens when the temps dip below belly button degrees.
not even sure that is the correct name, JudyE should check my bug book, but this is what I have always called them lots and lots of legs that look like....very long small silky things
realized today....been a long time since I SAW an American Robin...think I heard one earlier today....and not much chirping from any morning birds these days, except crows and blue jays
Good evening - I am so thankful that so far this day has been peaceful. The games were all winners by me Ravens and then Redskins!
There is a new 5 mo old puppy at my son's house. Sasha has accepted him and is 'putting up' with his playfulness. Sasha gives him attention and the two are very compatible. She is a mix of Germany shepherd and Husky. Her facial markings are beautiful. The funny part is that she was found on Craig's List and she was up in Thurmont. When the door was opened Susie and Lorenzo stared at each other... He had been the soccer coach for both the boys. His son has moved in with them and the pup was not welcomed by the Queen Cat! There was also another dog and there would be no one home all day for the puppy. So end of story - Happy ending.
Good Evening on this Special Day of Remembrance. I hope this nation never forgets. May God Bless our Country. We sure do need it! Thanking God tonight for keeping us safe today!
Lolly – This cold is definitely taking its course with you. Sorry to hear you’re so miserable. At least you can watch the Cowboys now…...
Shirley – Sorry to hear Kathryn is also not feeling well.
Loretta – Never feel like you’re talking to much about your daughter and sil’s situation in Bastrop, It is just terrible that people are so inconsiderate and have to take advantage of other peoples losses. We want to know how they are, because they are special to you, and hence, special to us…… as you are!
We still have our regular hummers, as best as I can tell. I am seeing more females than males of late, which is usually the case when we get to the mid and late September days. Ours fly around the house and occasionally stop by the front window just to peek in on their way over to the feeder. Too cuts!
Lynne – So the SB’s return? Ugh! So glad you’re going to a wedding and you CAN’T catch the bouquet! You are spoken for!!
Hoda – Glad we have you to keep the peace with this violent group!!! LOL We have some die hard fans in this group, don’t we! And thanks for honoring and appreciating our country, Hoda. You’re amazing!
Margie – I definitely agree with you about the Redskins Cheerleaders’ outfits. Might as well just wear their Victoria Secrets under garments!! They’re all that way and it’s a shame.
JudyE – I liked that FB page. Awesome pictures, too!
Lovely story, Jo...about the new puppy ... is there a name? Very happy to read this
Thanks again to Lynne...for the notice on the show on CBS - very, very .... poignant....a lot of sad, some joyful...some hopeful
hoping and praying that Diann in Pa..will be okay with the new flash flood watch
Hoping that Paula and Nick have arrived home safely, and she pops on to say so
Thinking and wondering about Lori and Kate also....
Prayers for just about every need, emotion and care, for so many, coursing through my soul right now
Extreme and perpetual gratitude for all the emergency workers...and every single person that worked to make a difference that day,on 9/11/2001, and every day Good Night, Precious Pals..
God Bless Us, Every One and please, keep us safe... xoxo ♥
I do believe I am feeling better this evening. Trying not to be too optimistic. Trying to stay awake for the game but would really like to go to bed.
Hoda...now 17-7. ☺
I do have a luncheon to go to tomorrow. Whether I go or not depends on how I feel in the morning. Supposed to take a salad or a dessert. Guess I could purchase something at the grocery store. It is the first meeting of the year of retired teachers. I would really like to go.
I did have one little James tale: last night he asked me if I knew about "alliteration" and "persification" (to which his Dad said.. personification...) and James offered an example of personifications:
Well, I hear the sandperson making a stealthy approach up the stairs. Want to watch a few minutes of news.
The night light is on for anyone who may need to arise in the dark, for Hunter who may tumble out of bed, for Tom Sweetie making a dinner delivery for Margy, and for Andy who will be arriving soon from the West Coast. Restful sleep for all. God bless us each and every one and God bless our blog family.
ROFL, Jo....kids were happy with pup's name or WEREN'T? I would definitely ditch a name that is also a Cowboy QB name!
Forgot to say hi to Andy when she was here earlier! We'll make an evening bird out of her yet!!!
Linda, good you checked in, too. How's Dennis feeling today? I hope you are taking today easy!
Just heard on police scanner that my partner-in-arms with the retiree group had a burglary....perp made entry into his house from the garage......waiting to hear more....TG no call for medics. Direction they were headed in a vehicle would take them straight to my ex-MIL's house! She is directly across from where his road intersects with a more travelled road.
Really wanted to see the CBS special, just didn't make it home in time....didn't want to leave...also the fish were biting ☺
Bro caught 3 bluefish and a sea trout this afternoon. He gave me 2 of the blues...plus he had caught one bluefish last night.
Nick was totally hilarious! He discovered the minnows in the shallows...kept trying to catch them...he was trying to pounce on them...it was sooooooo funny!
Lynn - Oh no.... a burglary of someone you know. So sorry to hear that. Hope she will be okay.
Thanks for asking about Dennis! He is a little better today, but still in pain. He did decide to cut the grass today because he is tired of sitting on the couch.
I scrubbed the fireplace! Yuck! With the wind and rain last week, we got water in the fireplace somehow. It turned all the brick black and yucky! So I scrubbed and cleaned the bricks. They look much better.
Still amazing video coming out of some of these areas where the creeks and water damage is incredible. In some areas, the sheer power of the water took out homes' foundations, washed portions of homes out completely, not to mention the cars, sheds, and so many items.
Wow, it's getting late. Been watching football & doing stuff on 'puter. YAAY, Skins & Cowboy game is pretty exciting! Most have probably hit the hay, so Pleasant Feather Dreams & prayers for all who are ailing ;>)
Our local grocery store about 10 minutes away was out of bread, milk, water, and so many every day items because stores in surrounding areas are flooded and closed.
I still can't get over the sheer force of the water and its impact in so many areas.
I saw that Kay was here....but she disappeared! Guess the poolside afternoon wore her out! Oh, yeah, there is a routine to closing the pool....and always a bit sad, but usually a relief, too! They are so much work---and expense. Good thing that in these climes, they are only usable for 3+ mos. Carolyn and Charlie should have gotten theirs done this weekend, but she pulled overtime at work and he pulled "nursing" duty to his sister.
I am going to call it a day. See you lovely people tomorrow. Was hoping to get some outdoor stuff done, but everything is soaking wet again. :(
Prayers for all. Praise God for a safe day here....unfortunately, a Taliban truck bomb outside a US military installation in Afghanistan today wounded 80 of our troops...so special prayers for our soldiers.
Have watched all the televised football games today and the best one was the last - Cowboys & Jets. Sorry, Lolly, but it was a good game.
The earlier game between Ravens & Steelers, was a joke. Big Ben, not my favorite GB, better get his game back - soon. Got my yellow towels out but had no reason to wave them.
Skins game was interesting though. Our youngest is a big fan.
Wish our local tv stations would televise some Patriot games. That's my second favorite team.
Poor Jimbo. Lost interest in football by the second game and fell asleep. I just couldn't stop watching. I may be addicted.
Loretta, hope your kids can get their things before those b#$%%^& Please keep us posted. Guns in the wrong hands can be tragic.
Thanks for the prayers for my sisters. BIL, Charlie, needed more blood over the weekend but is in better shape as of yesterday. Baby sister, Eileen, is safely back in Memphis. Such a short visit that I didn't get to see her due to the flooding in Marietta.
Prayers for all those lost on 9/11 the first responders who helped on the tragic day, and to the families of those still missing to find some solace.
Good Evening, Everyone! Got busy watching a TV special with Emma, so getting here pretty late. I, too, am grateful that there were no terrorist acts today. Thank GOD! God bless our country, and everyone in it!
Jo, so glad to hear of the adopted puppy, Roma! I LOVE happy endings!
We talked to the kids today, and am happy to report that Sierra (our ggd)is absolutely LOVING kindergarten, and her teacher LOVES having her in class! Look out world, here she comes! That little kiddo is quite a dynamo. Courtney (our gd) is loving school, too, and cheerleading. She's doing so well at that, I wouldn't be surprised if someday she makes the Cowboys cheer squad! Oh--Sierra's new nickname is officially "Guppy!" She is doing great in her swim lessons--she's 5, and has been promoted to a class with 7- and 8-year-olds. No problem keeping up with them.
Happy to report that Kubby's heel is much better! Thank you all for your healing prayers! Grateful prayers going up from this roost!
Well, going to call it a day. Will have an early, busy morning tomorrow. (Bulldogs babysitting chores!) Prayers said for everyone, and every creature. Making sure the porch light is on. Enabling both security systems. Sleep tight, my friends! God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you! :o]
I've been busy tweaking plans more. I wouldn't be worrying about it so much but it's my week to get checked by the principal so I have to make sure all my ducks are in a row.
Kudos to everyone - there were some beautiful avatars on here yesterday. They were all so wonderful to look at and patriotic supremo!
Praise for a safe and attack free 9-11. AMEN!
The beach house here is just gorgeous. Wish is was my real house! I took a bunch of pictures yesterday and loaded on this Apple thing, but can't get this to interface with my blog and adding pics. UGH...so I will try the HP Tablet and see if I can do something with that, since it at least has Windows on it.
Yesterday was gorgeous. We played in the pool, did a lot of bird watching (can't confirm an eagle yet), took the dogs down to the beach and looked at all the beach mansions. The dogs were like sacks of potatoes last night - conked out hard and snoring like buzz saws! It's overcast this morning so not good for pictures, but I have some great coffee and great bird sounds to listen to on any of the 4 decks!
Have a great, happy, safe, healthy day everyone! You'll be the first ones I tell if I am blessed with seeing an eagle!
Have a busy morning but wanted to stop in to say hello. Seems everyone is doing well (except Lolly's Cowboys).
Linda, glad Dennis is some better and Paula made it home safely with her minnow-pouncing pup. Busy traffic day in D.C. yesterday with the game and the 9/11 events, marathons, etc.
Lynn, hope the burglar has been apprehended. No damage to your friend is very good.
Sorry you didn't get to wave your yellow towels, Diann. Next time.
Lori, continue to enjoy your well-deserved vacation.
DanaMo, I'm sure you will pass the Principle's test with flying crayons.
♫ Monday, Monday.....♫ Foggy and cool here. I OVERSLEPT! Is there such a thing when we are retired?? LOL! Don't like getting started so late....but since I can't do anything outside, I guess it's okay! How is everyone today?
My retiree group partner is okay. Shaken...but safe. Birglar was scared off without getting anything. Lucky....he had gone to bed very early and woke up to go to the bathroom. Saw a flashlight in the hallway and started shouting and perp fled. Harry had left garage windows (screened) open for air circulation...and really doesn't know if he locked door into kitchen or not.
Lynne---how'd you do that??? We haven't been abe to get animated avatars to work on here for a couple of years!! COOL EAGLE!!!!
Lori, glad you checked in to let us know that you are having a great vacay!!!! Does the house have an outdoor shower? Good place to rinse off sandy dogs!! Hope the sun breaks through for you!
Shirley, glad your dinner was a great one!!
Diann....I use my Skin's bandanna for all things: wave it when things go well, wring it when it gets tense, wipe away tears when we lose!!!!
Lolly accused me of being insincere..... :( I'm gonna tell Mema Jo on her.....
Know you are at school, DanaMo, but just wanted to say that I know the principal's observation will go well for you today!!! Don't forget pics of your buttons!! Seems early in the school year for an "inspection," tho'!!
Gee....just see that Cliff Robertson died Sat. He was 88! My sister (in one of her many different "occupations") used to wash his airplane in West Palm Beach. He was married to actress Dina Merrill then (who was also the daughter of E.F. Hutton and Marjorie Meriweather Post).
Good Morning!!! I think I might live! Much better this morning, however, I still have a headache and my eyes are really bothering me. They are watering a lot!!
Lynn, you just go ahead and tattle.☺ Jo would agree with me!
Lynne, love your avatar. So, once again we can do animation? Your eagle will get tired soon! lol
Article in the paper this morning about moving water from rain drenched areas to drought areas. They seem to think it is too expensive and not practical. Hee hee, they do not know about our ditch we are digging.
Also, article about Bastrop. They are starting to allow people in to see neighborhoods. One man moved into his new house 2 weeks ago...now it is gone. Sad! Over 1500 houses gone and possibly more.
My lesson plans always had to be on my desk when I left on Friday. Principal did a walk through looking at every one's plans. And, she really looked at them, too. Left comments! Actually that was good in that I was not doing lesson plans over the weekend.
Lesson plans from year to year were "sorta" the same, but you learn new things and try new strategies. Best thing I ever learned and had success with at the end of my career was doing the daily news with the children. Do you do that, Dana?
and Lynne's and JudyE's new ones are great also.....there really isn't an avatar on here that I DON'T Like ... but these seem to be the newest additions
Glad you feel better, at least a little bit better, Lolly
I realized yesterday morning..that the morning singing birds are becoming more scarce..hear blue jays and crows.... but it has been a loooooonng time since I heard a cardinal warbling, and... haven't seen a Robin for weeks! Do hear one once in awhile...
scary story about the burglary to your friend's house Lynn glad he is okay! In this day and age and around here...there seems to be a burglar or a crook on every corner I think it's only a matter of time before people...start...taking matters into their own hands especially with all the metal thievery going on
picked up a fantastic little book from Goodwill the other night, entitled: Hugs for Teachers it is part of a collection of books Hugs for... Women, Friends, Hurting, Grandparents, Dads, Moms...
I'll get some quotes up here from to time...it is WONDERFUL and surely speaks to all our Teachers here...Active and Retired ! (Once a Teacher...always a Teacher! ♥ )
Article I saw yesterday said that 17 people are missing in Bastrop....they don't know if they have perished or if they were not in area pre-fire, or left without telling anyone.
Jo I like the name Roma.... has a certain "Mediterranean" sound to it ..☺ and is a good "sound" name for a doggy... Hope all goes well with the new pup...
LOL, Margy---ask James the Wise if he's learned onomatopoeia yet! Bet that will throw him!!
Harry said that deputy told him there was a recent burglary at the farm on the corner of Dry Run and Ridge Rd., Margy...they stole vehicle titles.......uh, DUH! What the h good would they be???? Dumb crooks.
New pup is ROMA - Female Roma, is a professional Italian football (soccer) club based in Rome. Orlando (previous owner) is an avid soccer fan and an Italian. He was the gs's coach for years. Roma is going to the vets today at 1:00 Anxious to see her weight - she is a sleek gal. She went into their bedroom last evening and whimpered - It got her a place on the bottom of the bed! Smart Cookie!
Lolly, could be that you actually have a cold in your eyes. Kind of like a touch of conjunctivitis. Try some Visine AC--it might help, even tho' it is for allergy.
Lynn - nothing is wrong with Roma. She just needs some shots and later on they'll have her neutered when she is old enough in a month or two. She is outside in the pen with her new pal Sasha (female).
Jo sounds like the new pup is a grand addition to the family.
Margy James is WISE!! ( :
Lolly sorry you are still feeling poorly. I am sure Norma was yelling with you for the Cowboys!
PA Nana-Diann I pray that you don't flood this time.
JudyE that is a markup!!!
Paula I love you sharing with us the things Nick does. I am chuckling this morning from your comment. I can see it happening through your words. With his paws getting wet. Him not caring just wants to play with those minnows.LOL
Hoda you are a breath of fresh air for us. I am so glad you found us. You are apart of this group USA even though we know why you live where you do. Doesn't matter your heart is beautiful!!!♥
Hedgie-Lynn/e is your retiree friend ok? So scary burglary while he was there!!
As far as the Cheerleaders uniforms. I think it is used as a distraction. That is way the Steelers don't have Cheerleaders..JMO.
Linda I hope Dennis begins to feel better. I feel so badly for those that the waters have taken their homes. I pray they can find a place to live or rebuild. How many times a year do you clean the chimney?
Hedgie-Lynn/e is Charlie's sister sick?
Prayers for those at the military place that was bombed that God will be with those that were wounded and their families. May God see they get the care that is needed. May HE seek HIS help to their buddies.
PA Nana- Diann I just read where the storm passed you. Thank God---I am so thankful for that happening for you.♥
In Bastrop just moved in 2 weeks ago. House gone..My feelings are so saddened for everyone their that have lost. It just breaks my heart. Sherry and Jimmy Loretta's daughter losing their home.
The floods taking homes...saddens me.
God please stop the fires and flooding. ^j^
I just wish we could send people in to these places and rebuild for all of them...tears. Sorry for getting emotional but it just breaks my heart!!
Dana, Harry is okay physically---just a bit shook up mentally/emotionally.
Yes, Charlie's sister had a stroke about 6 wks.a go. They sent her home from rehab last week...no one to care for her there. So their mom, Charlie and bro Donald are doing it. Her daughter has not even called since this happened. She is a stay-at-home mom with only one not yet in school---she is an adopted brat who doesn't give her mom the time of day.
Huh why don't I have her on my prayer list??? Well she is there now! Sorry that girl doesn't respect her mother. I do know people like that! What is Charlie's sister's name and how old is she Hedgie-Lynn/e???
I am feeling like a COMPLETE IDIOTIC FOOL! I had a lunch date at noon with my friend Ann to celebrate her birthday (last week) and I FORGOT....I can't believe I did this. What is wrong with me??? No answer on either of her phones.....surprised she didn't call me and say WHERE ARE YOU??? Ha--maybe she forgot, too??!!! I HOPE! Or she's very angry with me... :(
Lynne2 nice flying eagle. Neat you got it to fly. People have been trying to get gif's but they don't move. Use to be year or so ago they would work. Prayers about the car!!!
Just had a neat experience a little while ago. I was sitting at the table when a rs hawk flew in and landed on the birdbath. Jack and I got to watch him for several minutes. Could not take a picture as it was amongst the trees and too many shadows.
Oh, Lynn, so sorry about the mishap. Nothing to do but reschedule to make up the error.
Okay, all is well. She was worried about me, but her cell phone wouldn't work to call. She went ahead and ordered because she had a Dr's. apptmt. for 1:30.....so she ended up eating alone and called when she got out! Not mad!
...and I see MEMA JO stayed out of it!!! Very wise ofcourse!!! LYNN and LOLLY both so very cute with their spat!!! LOL
Good morning / Good afternoon every one.
LORI is in a palace with four balconies and maybe even a sighting of an eagle...YEAY!!!
It promises to be 92 here today...we have clear blue skies.
Good luck with the Evaluation process DANAMO. I am sure you will be fine. A week of evaluations seems long and I understand wanting to have things go just right...Prayers come your way.
The moving avatars do not move on my computer. LYNNE'S moves on her blog page and not on the actual entries page...Good idea though.
LOLLY when I checked the fire site last night some of the older fires were put out and new ones had started felt badly about that. Digging a ditch seems very important at this point regardless of what the article says.
Lynn, I haven't told you how many times I have forgotten bridge night. I told my friends that I would do better now that I'm not working. One of them said, "No you won't. We'll keep reminding you." Thank goodness for patient friends.
Andy so HAPPY Kubby's heal is better. PRAISE going up from here. ( : So nice about the gkids doing well in school and Guppy moving ahead in swim class.
Lori I see you are at the beach house. Yes we will be wanting to know what birds you see at the shore. Have a restful and fun time.
Shirley you had a Seafood Feast!!
Thelma an her winning Red Skin helmet is checking in.
LOL I love the back and forward between Lolly and Hedgie-Lynn/e LOL All is in fun...tattle tails ( :
Hedgie-Lynn/e sorry you missed the date with your friend. I am sure she knows you did not want to meet up with her.
Lolly: A cousin to the red-shouldered hawk you saw, is in my neighborhood circling on the thermals and making wonderful hawk sounds ♫ ♪ I think it has a Texas accent ☺
Lynn...sorry about the missed luncheon date, now you can work on the make-up, let us know when it will be, and will try to clobber you with reminders !
There has been a nice e-mail reminder about bridge. I think I am probably the only one who does not play several times a week. The others live in the same neighborhood and see each other regularly in one group or another. But I am trying to do better. Just checked my calendar. Third Wednesday. It is not this week. It's next week.
Have just spent some time skimming back over the posts since I bowed out early yesterday evening. Way too much to comment on but will say:
LOLLY, that Cowboys-Jet game was a looapolooza ! Sorry the Cowboys lost, but what an action packed game and with such colorful characters on both sides ! No way to fall asleep on that one.
JO, Roma sounds like a doll, so happy for the family. Small world isn't it aspect was really something, too !
LORI, glad the beachhouse is all you hoped for and more ! Can't wait for that eagle sighting report !
LYNN, have to tell you, it kind of makes me feel good to hear I'm not the only one with those occasional lapses in memory ! Glad your friend took it in stride !
THELMA, I loved your birthday message to SUZANNE ! Great advice !
Just noticed Paula's avatar had changed last night, the one of the three firefighters raising the flag at the World Trade Center....that is one of my all-time favorite pictures, and I have it on a postcard...which I will never send!
time to start putting things together to head out the door for a visit with James the Wise... Lynn I will ask him about onomatopoeia wow tough to spell, tougher to type, going to review what it means before I ask him !
by the way my father used to say the word WOOF when us kids were having a hard time with something, like when we were sulking.... trying to get us to smile and to break the whatever it was we were going through.... and of course in Home Alone, "Kevin" happened to utter that when looking at a picture of his olders brother's girlfriend, now, that was NOT very nice
Okay, gang.....lunch is rescheduled for NEXT Monday. This time I wrote my note in bright red marker!!! Thanks for reminders come the weekend!!
Kay, glad you are back! Did you get more stormy weather during the night? THey are predicting more here tohis afternoon and evening, so thought maybe they were coming from your area!
Gee, Shirley, bridge that often must get kind of boring! You're gonna stick to once a week, right? I know that after retiring form GM, Bill was on 3 different bowling leagues---that was TOO much---expensive, time-consuming and physically hard. After he had to have his rotator cuff repair, and was finally able to resume, he went back to only once a week.
Margy no rode work when I went to Berkeley Springs. Hope you don't encounter any hold ups--meaning road work hold ups. lol I know you will have fun with James♥♥
I would love to learn to play bridge....can remember often my parents and their bridge partners saying "Trump," and "No Trump" I like pinochle ! So I learned a little about TRUMP with that. But haven't played it in years !
Waiting to hear from Susan about her kitty, Chancey. Chancey had blood in her urine yesterday, so Susan took her to the vet. Chancey will have an ultrasound this afternoon. Some concern that she could have a mass in her bladder.
Oh, my, someone in my neighborhood is revving an engine.
aw, Chauncey is so cute! Hope everything is OK with her....and YES, torties ARE different! Has there been an ongoing problem with her? Not usual for an U/S to be done if this is the first time for blood in the urine....
Shirley, I went to free animation websites and downloaded (or rather Saved picture as) into my document folder of picture folder. Then retrieve them from computer.
Back wasn't picked there were 5 trials going on 35 peeps were picked to go in on each case I had to stay almost to the end but lucky got to leave just got home there were still some more peeps left one trail still was picking juror so a few had to stay just in case the 35 won't do At least I get paid from Walmart for the whole day
My neck is killing me I guess from sitting and reading today while waiting But on a good note it was a beautiful day I spent most of it outside around the lake next to the court I wanted to take picture but couldn't bring my camera not allowed in court Darn't it was a nice day
Now I have to sit and wait to see if I get a ticket in the mail I noticed I had white mark on my tires I parked in the 2hr spot which is allowed as long as you have your parking pass hanging or on dash

Off to watch some mindless t.v. BBL
Had to come back. Doing a Margy.
Judy, is the Casey Anthony probation hearing over? If not, that would be interesting. Well, maybe if it's a boring case, you won't be selected.
not even sure that is the correct name, JudyE
should check my bug book, but this is what I have always called them
lots and lots of legs that look like....very long small silky things
realized today....been a long time since I SAW an American Robin...think I heard one earlier today....and not much chirping from any morning birds these days,
except crows and blue jays
I just usually let them to their own way, Judy...
Am very joined with all here...on the sadness and the emotion of the day....
will be watching the CBS show now...
60-Minutes
xo (( Hugs ♥ ))
not 60 minutes
two hours
Going to sofa with Liesl to watch the CBS special. BBL.
LOLLY loves the COWBOYS even more than she would love to see rain!!! That is saying something.
JUDYE keep us posted as to Jury Duty.
JUDIE laughter is sooooooo good for the soul.
I take it the REDSKINS won their game?
NO NO NO!!!!!! I would sacrifice the COWBOYS, for rain! It is desperate here, we need rain!!!!!
Over 3 million acres have now burned. Well over 1000 homes lost. Some towns are out of drinking water. We need rain!!!!!
AWESOME concert in Washington DC...I am watching it on CBS internet...
What shines through today out of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS CLASS AND FORTITUDE, FAITH AND TRUST AND HOPE...
GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Good evening my friends. Sorry about my avatar but I can't change it on my phone. Just want you to know that I love you all.
OK LOLLY you are awfully quiet...what is happening with your Cowboys??? Has the game started yet???
"I didn't realize how evil evil can be". Firefighter on documentary. I didn't either.
"I didn't realize how evil evil can be". Firefighter on documentary. I didn't either.
Good evening everyone. Congrats to the winning teams today - Ravens & Skin.
We were just issued a flash flood warning. Oh NO! not again.
Stay safe and dry everyone. I'll try to come back later. If not, know that my prayers are with you for all needs.
Good evening - I am so thankful that so far this day has been peaceful. The games were all winners by me Ravens and then Redskins!

Thanks Judie for my today's chuckle!
I am going to call it quits for the night . . . see you tomorrow. Rest well. Take care.
God bless.
I am glad there is a new puppy JO. Lovley story.
Much GRATITUDE that today was a day to pray and remember and that the vigilence averted any possible attacks.
Goodnight SHIRLEY.
Watching the game, Hoda. Second half has just started. It is a close game, Cowboys ahead 10-7.
That was a very poignant show.
Hi, Sharon. Glad you popped in. Hope your weekend gathering was great!
Jo, how sweet that the new puppy came into the kid's life so quickly. Sounds perfect!
G'night, Shirley. Hope your crab feed was delicious! Nice to have the whole family together today.
Prayers for just about every need, emotion and care, for so many, coursing through my soul right now
Extreme and perpetual gratitude for all the emergency workers...and every single person that worked to make a difference that day,on 9/11/2001, and every day
Good Night, Precious Pals..
God Bless Us, Every One and please, keep us safe...
xoxo ♥
Jo, how sweet about the puppy being adopted and accepted and welcomed. Happy ending, indeed.
Hoda, we are just so fortunate to have you as our friend and our geographical neighbor. Thank you so much for your support of the U.S.
Shirley, sleep well. Hope the Hunterisms are not too stressful in the morning.
I did have one little James tale:
last night he asked me if I knew about "alliteration" and "persification" (to which his Dad said.. personification...)
and James offered an example of personifications:
THE SUN IS SMILING
☼ ☺
10-7 is a close game indeed LOLLY and it does not seem to be high scoring...
I too wonder about LORI and KATE. We have not heard from them today.
Thank You Linda.
so Lolly, that reminds me of your Smiling Sun avatar...
hope you feel better, Pronto!
WOW James the Wise IS Wise!!!
17-7 is putting some space between them...I hope it is a good game to watch Lolly.
The pup had been pre-named ROMA by her first owner. Kids are real pleased with
the name - Maybe they will address her
with a new name.
I think I am going to say Good Night to all of you. Hugs to All ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Prayers for soooooo many being said. I
am thankful He knows all of your names in case I forget.
Thank you Lord for this day! Amen
Moon glow is lovely....hope the storm clouds stay gone!
Evening all!
Home safe and sound...back in a bit!
Oops, forgot to post that last comment!
Jo, wonderful about the new pup! So funny that she knew the guy!
Margy, hope you had a grand time with James!
And I take it the Skins won? Did they play in DC?
Glad you are home, Paula. Rough ride?? Bad storm up this way.
Goodnight to all turning in. Been an emotional day. Lows and highs....makes us tired.
Yes, Paula, the Redskins played at home this afternoon.
Greetings to you!! Glad you're home safe and sound!
Lynn, hit a shower after Germantown, but no rain to speak of after that...much better than last week's ride home!
Did the Skins play at 1 or 4 today?
Still amazing video coming out of some of these areas where the creeks and water damage is incredible. In some areas, the sheer power of the water took out homes' foundations, washed portions of homes out completely, not to mention the cars, sheds, and so many items.
Wow, it's getting late. Been watching football & doing stuff on 'puter.
YAAY, Skins & Cowboy game is pretty exciting!
Most have probably hit the hay,
so Pleasant Feather Dreams & prayers for all who are ailing ;>)
Our local grocery store about 10 minutes away was out of bread, milk, water, and so many every day items because stores in surrounding areas are flooded and closed.
I still can't get over the sheer force of the water and its impact in so many areas.
We are so blessed to be where we are.
Puppy...Roma
QB......Romo
Welcome home Paula. Would have loved to have seen Nick trying to catch a minnow.
They played at 4, Paula
It was a good game.
Well, for those of you still up, I bid you good night!!
Wishing you all restful and peaceful sleep tonight!
May God Bless and Protect us all and the critters we so dearly love... xoxo ♥♥♥
Yes, Paula, home game....28-14 over the Giants!!
It was a 4:15 game...but closer to 4"30 before it got underway.
Oh, Linda....what a horrible job! I hate that smell of the wet fireplace/chimney. My woodstove has had it's fair share of odor this past week.
Romo/Roma.....gender identity! In one place Jo said he and another place she.....masculine vs. feminine....EITHER WAY......I'm just sayin'!
Thanks, Linda and Lynn! YAY, they beat the Giants. That explains the traffic on the beltway! Not awful, but heavier than a normal Sunday!
Welcome home Paula. Fish meals gift of bro sound wonderful...NICK is precious.
LOLLY what is the score?
I saw that Kay was here....but she disappeared! Guess the poolside afternoon wore her out! Oh, yeah, there is a routine to closing the pool....and always a bit sad, but usually a relief, too! They are so much work---and expense. Good thing that in these climes, they are only usable for 3+ mos. Carolyn and Charlie should have gotten theirs done this weekend, but she pulled overtime at work and he pulled "nursing" duty to his sister.
Just had a power "almost" outage....messed up DVR---it's rebooting. Clocks on stereos and microwave messed up again.
Oh-oh.....Lolly didn't come back to tell us that the Cowboys lost.....sorry, kiddo, Better luck next time. :)
OH NO The COWBOYS lost!!!Sorry LOLLY.
Headed to bed myself. Have showered and oh so ready to close my eyes.
Hoda...COWBOYS lost in the last minutes. Bummer!
Nite all! Sweet dreams!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
GOD BLESS MY EAGLE FRIENDS! Tomorrow comes soon and I pray for safety for all!
Hoda, I think your Oh, no and "sorry" was sincere....I really do not think that Lynn's was sincere. I love her anyway!☺
Hope you feel better tomorrow, Lolly.
I will say Goodnight and God Bless.
Okay, the storm bypassed us..whew!
Loretta, hope your kids can get their things before those b#$%%^&
Please keep us posted.
Restful sleep everyone. God bless!
Duh... QB. Meds are working. Goodnight.
Well, it is no longer Sept. 11...no terrorist activity reported, so we must give thanks for a safe and peaceful day~ AMEN
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Oh--Sierra's new nickname is officially "Guppy!" She is doing great in her swim lessons--she's
5, and has been promoted to a class with 7- and 8-year-olds.
Good morning. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning eagle momsters and dadsters.
Hey DANAMO just got up
MT nest I see I was hoping we would have a visit What time did the nest get colots I wonder I guess its later each day
Good morning JudyE and DanaMo.
Good morning.
We had a nice family day yesterday.
Mornin' Stronghunter. I'm glad you day was good yesterday.
Good Morning Eagle Family!
Shirley, I waved and said hello to you as I went through Fredericksburg!
Hi Lori, so glad you are enjoying the beach.
Yesterday, all of my children came and we had crabs (provided by Will) and clams (provided by Susan) as well as other goodies.
Hi, Thelma!
Suzanne-happy, happy birthday. I hope you treat yourself like your best friend today!!
I'm off everyone. Make a good day.
Happy birthday, Suzanne!
Good morning everyone.
Shirley, so nice you had a good day with family.
BBL
Good morning....testing one two three
Is my eagle flying?
OOOOOOO yet it is!!!!
Glad your RGP is ok Lynn!
Gotta run, have to take the car in...
Know she can't check in to see her greetings here (I sent email card and FB greetings!) but:
♫ ♪ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUZ!!!! ♪ ♫
SUN is out, burning off the fog!
I will see if I can find the article on line.
Back to a rain avatar!
Nice new avatar, Lolly!
Keep the Faith
and Lynne's and JudyE's new ones are
great also.....there really isn't an avatar on here that I DON'T Like ... but these seem to be the newest additions
Glad you feel better, at least a little bit better, Lolly
Good Morning Eagle Pals...
and
Happy Birthday Suzanne...may your special day be Glorious and every day thereafter as well

Fabul☺us report from Lori!
I realized yesterday morning..that the morning singing birds are becoming more scarce..hear blue jays and crows....
but it has been a loooooonng time since I heard a cardinal warbling, and...
haven't seen a Robin for weeks!
Do hear one once in awhile...
neat report from Andrea on her great granddaughter and granddaughter on their happiness with school this year ☺
Yes, I wish I was there with Lori. 4 balconies? More than enough for all of us!
Have a great week, Lori!!!! And, do hope you see that eagle.
scary story about the burglary to your friend's house Lynn
glad he is okay!
In this day and age and around here...there seems to be a burglar or a crook on every corner
I think it's only a matter of time before people...start...taking matters into their own hands
especially with all the metal thievery going on
Left Suz a birthday wish on fb. Wish she could come on here. Loved her early morning commentaries.
This avatar is supposed to be animated. Wonder how Lynne got hers to work.
picked up a fantastic little book from Goodwill the other night, entitled:
Hugs for Teachers
it is part of a collection of books
Hugs for...
Women, Friends, Hurting, Grandparents, Dads, Moms...
I'll get some quotes up here from to time...it is WONDERFUL and surely speaks to all our Teachers here...Active and Retired ! (Once a Teacher...always a Teacher! ♥ )
God Bless Our Teachers !!
Going to move along and get things done on this my only day off...
have a school pick-up with James later...
maybe I'll learn more about alliterations and personifications when I see him
Best Wishes for A Great Day, Everyone

Shirley:
Sounds like you had a really nice day, yesterday...always happy to read of these kinds of things
Lolly, did you see Lori's latest avatar??? CUTE!
Article I saw yesterday said that 17 people are missing in Bastrop....they don't know if they have perished or if they were not in area pre-fire, or left without telling anyone.
Jo
I like the name Roma....
has a certain "Mediterranean" sound to it ..☺
and is a good "sound" name for a doggy...
Hope all goes well with the new pup...

Okay, I am trying an animated avatar.
Not working yet. It did for a moment.
Good Morning Friends and Lurkers ( :

Hope everyone is having a good day.
I am departing for a while. My eyes are really bothering me. Maybe I need to give them a rest.
Yes, I saw Lori's avatar and really appreciate it.
BBL Have a great day and an even better week!!!!☺
I saw a robin yesterday morning, Margy. Someone else mentioned not seeing any yesterday---??Lynne??
One more thing....
Article on Bastrop Fire
LOL, Margy---ask James the Wise if he's learned onomatopoeia yet! Bet that will throw him!!
Harry said that deputy told him there was a recent burglary at the farm on the corner of Dry Run and Ridge Rd., Margy...they stole vehicle titles.......uh, DUH! What the h good would they be???? Dumb crooks.
New pup is ROMA - Female
Roma, is a professional Italian football (soccer) club based in Rome.
Orlando (previous owner) is an avid soccer fan and an Italian. He was the
gs's coach for years.
Roma is going to the vets today at 1:00
Anxious to see her weight - she is a
sleek gal. She went into their bedroom
last evening and whimpered - It got her a place on the bottom of the bed!
Smart Cookie!
And....
Shhhh...do not tell them about our ditch
Suzanne is at work today - but is
enjoying her birthday. FB has many many good wishes for her.
Lolly, could be that you actually have a cold in your eyes. Kind of like a touch of conjunctivitis. Try some Visine AC--it might help, even tho' it is for allergy.
Oh, that's cute, Jo! Nothing wrong requiring a vet visit, is there?
I will take one of those 4 balconies at the beach house. Really happy for Lori to have such a great sight for her vac.
Lolly - how deep do you need the ditch?
Shirley - I love that kitty even when
she is still!
Lynn - nothing is wrong with Roma. She
just needs some shots and later on
they'll have her neutered when she
is old enough in a month or two.
She is outside in the pen with her new
pal Sasha (female).
Lolly lol I just realized your
Shhhhhh! was a link! They think it can't be done! What do they know about

Jo sounds like the new pup is
a grand addition to the family.
I can see it happening
through your words. With his paws getting wet. Him not caring just wants to play with those minnows.LOL
Hoda you are a breath of fresh air for us. I am so glad you found us. You are apart of this group USA even though we know why you live

C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Hedgie-Lynn/e is your retiree
friend ok? So scary burglary
while he was there!!
As far as the Cheerleaders uniforms.
I think it is used as a distraction. That is way the Steelers don't have Cheerleaders..JMO.
Linda I hope Dennis begins to feel
better. I feel so badly for those
that the waters have taken their
homes. I pray they can find a place
to live or rebuild. How many times
a year do you clean the chimney?
I just wish we could send people in
to these places and rebuild for all
of them...tears. Sorry for getting
emotional but it just breaks my heart!!
Daddy and me when I was little.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZANNE!!!!!
Oh I forgot to comment that Margy gets to see James the WISE this evening YEAH YEAH!!!♥♥
Neat
you got it to fly. People have
been trying to get gif's but
they don't move. Use to be year
or so ago they would work. Prayers
about the car!!!
Dana, her name is Trish. She's probably early-to-mid 50's. Was widowed two yrs. ago.
Lolly, your yard is an oasis for wildlife. Your reward for so much hard work.
Andy so HAPPY Kubby's heal
is better. PRAISE going up
from here. ( :
So nice about the gkids
doing well in school and
Guppy moving ahead in swim
class.
Lori I see you are at the
beach house. Yes we will
be wanting to know what
birds you see at the shore.
Have a restful and fun time.
Shirley you had a Seafood Feast!!
Thelma an her winning Red Skin
helmet is checking in.
LOL I love the back and forward
between Lolly and Hedgie-Lynn/e LOL
All is in fun...tattle tails ( :
Hedgie-Lynn/e sorry you missed the date with your friend. I am sure she knows you did not want to meet up with her.
LOL, Shirley! Feel like it's more readily excused to forget things when we worked! Now not so much!
Lolly, glad the hawk visited....did you have water in the birdbath?
Howdy Hoda! 92! Wow...very nice. We are supposed to get markedly colder by the end of the week. Don't like that idea at all.
Lolly:
A cousin to the red-shouldered hawk you saw, is in my neighborhood circling on the thermals and making wonderful hawk sounds ♫ ♪
I think it has a Texas accent ☺
Lynn...sorry about the missed luncheon date, now you can work on the make-up, let us know when it will be, and will try to clobber you with reminders !
xo
nice pic, Dana...wish I could see it a little better, you and your Dad....
SUZANNE, hope this is an apple dumpling dandy day for you !!!
Hello ☼HI☼ Sunshine Kay !
Just noticed Paula's avatar had changed last night, the one of the three firefighters raising the flag at the World Trade Center....that is one of my all-time favorite pictures, and I have it on a postcard...which I will never send!
time to start putting things together to head out the door for a visit with James the Wise...
Lynn I will ask him about onomatopoeia
wow tough to spell, tougher to type, going to review what it means before I ask him !
OH neat:
WOOF is an example of onomatopoeia
also Chug Chug
Puff Puff
Ding-Dong, Ding-Dong
by the way
my father used to say the word
WOOF when us kids were having a hard time with something, like when we were sulking....
trying to get us to smile and to break the whatever it was we were going through....
and of course
in Home Alone, "Kevin" happened to utter that when looking at a picture of his olders brother's girlfriend, now, that was NOT very nice
Well that's enough out of me for awhile
I guess Magpie-ing is another example of onomatopoeia
☺
Hope the Rest of the Day is Good....
See you much much later on
xoxox ♥ (( Hugs ♥ )
Margy no rode work when I went to Berkeley Springs. Hope you don't encounter any hold ups--meaning road work hold ups. lol I know you will have fun with James♥♥
Onomatopoeia is one of my favorite words!
Buzz! Boom! Bang!
I would love to learn to play bridge....can remember often my parents and their bridge partners saying
"Trump," and "No Trump"
I like pinochle ! So I learned a little about TRUMP with that.
But haven't played it in years !
okay 'bye !
Thanks Dana...helps to know that!
about the roads...
Wheeee !
Shirley, we can have FUN with this!
off I go xo
Maybe we will see the Full Moon Rise tonight !
xoxo
Waiting to hear from Susan about her kitty, Chancey. Chancey had blood in her urine yesterday, so Susan took her to the vet. Chancey will have an ultrasound this afternoon. Some concern that she could have a mass in her bladder.
Oh, my, someone in my neighborhood is revving an engine.
Chancey is Susan's crazy kitty.
Off to yoga.
Glad lunch was rescheduled for Monday LYNN.
I forget thigns often too and learnt to be kind to myself when that happens.
Glad family gathering for sea food was good SHIRLEY.
BBL. HAGD.
Posted a picture of Chancey on my blog. Chancey just be a match for Brother Cat.
Chancey just might be a match for Brother Cat.
aw, Chauncey is so cute! Hope everything is OK with her....and YES, torties ARE different! Has there been an ongoing problem with her? Not usual for an U/S to be done if this is the first time for blood in the urine....
I cannot explain why my eagle flies....or why Hoda can't see it fly except on my blog page. I use Firefox...could that make a difference?
I'm going to experiment with others....
spinning cat?
owl flying
No, this is not a usual problem for Chancey.
I will try Firefox.
Did you copy and paste the url for the avatar, Lynne?
butterfly
Shirley, I went to free animation websites and downloaded (or rather Saved picture as) into my document folder of picture folder. Then retrieve them from computer.
kitten licking
nope....HMMMMM. Can't figure why some work and others don't.
cat drinking
Shirley, has Chauncey had a urinalysis and been on meds for a UTI?
Nope, Lynne, only eagle and butterfly working on IE. None of the others.
Shirley, hope Chancey will be okay. Pretty cat!
Hummingbird.
Nope. Not moving.
hummer
I give up, can't find a common denominator for the 2 that are working while the others do not. UGH.
