Linda, you truly DO have a truck farm!!!! Speaking of horseradish----do you ever just wash and peel and slice to munch on??? SO--O-O good!!!! Good for the sinuses!!!
Paula, sure hope the buckets don't overflow! I think we'vve had that much rain here, too. Really do need to get a rain gauge. Used to have one...but it got broken.
This debit card thing is most disturbing. My bank card isn't BOA, but my Health Care Spending Account is....and I'm SURE not going to eat that $5 on it....GM can either fork over that amount, or I'll just submit receipts for reimbursement. They say that is BOAS does it, all the others will follow suit, so it's just a matter of time. Back to writing checks!!!!
Goodnight to all turning in. Looks like we have rain coming in the AM...off and on through the day and night into Sun. AM. :( Snow in many areas to the west. Crazy! Not boding well for winter, is it?
Cornbread! Glad you mentioned it, Lynn. Gotta make preparations for us to have cornbread on our trip. Nights are going to be down in the 30's and 40's, highs in the 60's. I think I can live with that!
I've been reading back over the blog and LYNN...love your idea of breaking the eggs into a jar to take up less room. Small RV refrigerators need all the help you can give them!
DANA, our church is making apple butter. It is a fun 3 day project.
MARGY, wish I could do something to help James with the sadness he is surely feeling over Harley. Your presence will help him a great deal, I am certain.(((HUGS))) to both of you♥♥
Yes, it is. So strange to be so dry and hear everyone else talking about all the rain. Two years ago I was calling this place a swamp. Wish it was that way again.
My back is just dandy! And so is Jack's neck. His excercises have really helped. My back is something I have learned to live with. I have a terrible history with it and have never figured out what makes it start hurting. However, the last few years have been great, with only a few flare ups!
It's great that you are both so disciplined to take care of your injuries correctly. It is hard to keep doing those exercises when you feel better. Kind of like the "out of sight, out of mind."
LOLLY, are you going to the same area in Colorado as before, or are you trying something new and different? I do envy you so much, but wish you sooo much fun!
LYNNE, loved the video of the Glo Worms. Never knew of any of that!
PAULA, Karla and Denise will be going to OBX for Denise's birthday, but not sure which day they have planned to leave. Denise is an AVID sea glass collector and finds some pretty pieces down there. I DIDN'T CHICKEN OUT...got 10 inches cut off my hair. They don't do Locks of Love at my salon, anymore:( I do love the cut and the perm, but the curl and style is not very becoming! I can remedy that in a week or so~
Well, I guess we'd better head upstairs and get some sleep.
Wanda - we're anxious to hear the news of your new haircut!! Whatever it is, I am sure you'll look as beautiful as you always do!
Hoping GG is doing well, too.
May you all have restful sleep and sweet dreams tonight.
Special prayers for Big and Little James tonight as they cope with that empty feeling in the house without the love and presence of their beloved Harley. May God ease their loss as only He can do.
May God Bless and Protect us all and the critters we so dearly love... xoxo ♥♥♥
LINDA, I wish your Dennis could tell me how he is able to grow such a great crop of squash. Those squash bugs just ruin the vines and plants before they have a chance to produce. We only had 2 or 3. GG had a better crop than we did....BTW, she was feeling very well this evening:)
Wanda, we are going to Durango and Silverton as well as Pagosa Springs. Have never been to this part of Colorado. In June we went to Rocky Mt. Natl park, which is north west of Denver. We are going to be in the southern part of Colorado.
Hi, Everyone, Oboy, I finally got caught up here! I am SOOOOO tired! Have been running from pillar to post since 3:30 Friday morning! We leave on our trip to Lake Tahoe later this morning, after taking dear Emma to doggy camp. Had transcription to finish up and send back this morning. Didn't get any more work in today's mail, so won't have to work on vacation! We pick up accumulated mail on Mon. the 10th. Had to run to 2 different banks to make payments and withdraw some spending money, do a bit of shopping for dog food & biscuits, had to pack, had to set up Emma's stuff (Long story--will explain in a bit.) Had a boatload of laundry to finish--Aargh! I'm happy to say I got it all done! We even picked up the rental car. It's a Nissan Altima, and it's NICE! Dark metallic gray. Only about 12,000 miles on it, and it still smells new inside.
Oh--to explain--when we take Emma to her doggy camp, we have to take a few towels for her to sleep on, a couple of old T-shirts we've worn and not washed (so she can smell us and not be so lonely), a few toys (They want her name on them in permanent ink.), her food, packaged up in meal-sized ziploc bags and labeled with date, which meal it is, and Emma's name, her food & water dishes, her brush & comb, her shampoo...EVERYTHING has to have her name on it in permanent ink--just like summer camp for kids! It actually took longer to pack for her, than for us!LOL Surprise! We got a tiny bit of rain here today. Not much, but better than nothing.
Went to the Weather Channel and found the 5-day forecast for Carson City, NV, where our friend, Andrea Dion, lives. We'll be visiting her too. Sat.-Tues. daytime temps are from 79 to 68. Nighttime temps are from 45 to 33. Hard to pack for such variable weather! Taking multi-layers and a really, really warm jacket. We're probably going to get thunderstorms on Wednesday. Hoping we don't get any snow.
Well, going to try to get some sleep. Prayers have been said for everyone, and for every creature. Too many to list right now. (I'm slam wore out!) Making sure the porch light is on. Enabling both security systems. Hope everyone is sleeping soundly! God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o] P.S.--Probably won't post here in the morning light. We need to get on the road early. It's a LONG trip! May have some thunderstorms in the high desert to drive through, so an early start is best. Will try to let you know when we've arrived, though. G'night!
ANDY, have a great trip. Our weather is much colder here suddenly today, only going up to 50's this afternoon and tomorrow! It's really cold out now! Freddy and Batman kitties who never want to come in at night came running in when I opened the door this morning.
LYNN, I say YOU are the Mom, they should take you as in pay for you. It certainly shouldn't be half and half.♥
Good morning. Really too early for a Saturday, but I did hold the Flying Labs off for an hour. So I should be grateful.
Wanda-When my daughter cut her long hair the second time the salon didn't do Locks either, but we got the address off of the internet and sent it ourselves.
KAY is port free now YEAH and getting stronger day by day Good to hear!
SHIRLEY hope your throat is feeling better
LYNN so sorry about the trouble with the bird
LINDA How does your garden grow Wow I am amazed by you and Dennis being so dedicated living off the earth Lots of hard work but well worth it I'm sure knowing where your food came from and I bet it even taste better♥ My mom and dad always had a garden I loved doing the beans and peas Loved eating raw also

Have been watching TV and doing my nails this evening. Ready to head to the shower.
Did Kay check in after the port was removed? Never did see it.
Lynne, really is a funny story about the crow in the bag in the car. Sorry Steve was mad.
Hi LOLLY!!! You can start counting down the hours now, right??

Well, I have finally caught up to the beginning of this thread and have already scanned much of this one......
Whew!!
But not three more days!!
I am just so ready to get away from here! Every time we drive into town, all I can see are the dying trees.
I hope you and Jack have a wonderful trip. It sure sounds like it will be that way!
Nope...only 2 more days, we leave early Monday!
And up here, we're drowning everywhere you look. So strange, isn't it?
Thanks, Linda! We are so ready to get away! We love it...just the two of us in the trailer. We do so well and have so much fun!
