wvgal_dana said...

Will be heading out soon to run errands.

Got my "red" on Margy ( :

Hello everyone. I am working the earlier shift today, get off at 3 and then heading to Claytor Lake to spend the weekend with - Andrew, Kelsey, Kelsey's mother Alice, Becky, Mattie, Justin, Sissy, Tom and T-Bird. Gonna be a great weekend!!!

Costume Lady said...

Sharon, sounds like a great, fun weekend, but where will you all stay?

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Beverly and Tom are taking their popup camper down for some of us to stay in. They have a camping spot we can rent for the weekend that is right across from the bathhouse.

Lori O. said...

Hello WANDA and SHARON. Guess I missed MARGY. Oh well, we all missed Truder and Belle this morning, but had a fun time.

Wanda, what's up with Rocky?

Sharon, I hope you all have the most wonderful time at the lake. It sounds like a lot of fun. Glad T-Bird and Buddy are going too! Take care of yourself and your iron levels. ♥

Thanks for the new thread, Steve! Wasn't expecting it, so I'll have to go back and catch up on the last one.

hedgie said...

Thanks, MArgy.

WCV IS having problems with the cam---it's not us! They are working on it.

Need to add Glo's daughter Becky to prayer list. She had emergency surgery this morning for kidney stones. I'm sure Glo is worried sick.

Delta 2 nest----one juvie apparently took a tumble---is in rehab. Scroll to bottom of this page and see what the other one has!
Delta2

Sure, Paula! What time do you want to head up??

hedgie said...

Not Romney, DanaWV---Capon Bridge.

Linda said...

WANDA, LYNN & MARGY - Thanks for the "Welcome Back" messages. I'm glad to be back.

Lynn - My flower avatar is actually clematis! They just climb up over the deck railing every year and are just beautiful!!

Judie said...

Good early afternoon to everyone.

Thank you Steve for the new thread and Margy for the holler.

Lynn, so glad Liesl is recovering and eating well.

Paula, congratulations on your new friend and companion Nick. He is absolutely handsome.

Hi Linda. Welcome back. Glad your brother is home but sorry he is still recovering and hope your mom will improve soon.

Kay, will you share your connection to Rutgers? Darth's college. Grew up in New Brunswick.

Shirley, sorry Hunter's team lost. Also, hope Kathryn is feeling better.

Hi Sharon. Wow, what a fantastic family weekend you all have planned. Enjoy!

Lazy day for me. Watching the trial.

Kennedy Center tonight. Latest iteration of Wicked. Just saw that not a year or so ago. Have another play next Friday called "Next to Normal" that I know nothing about. Need to do some research.

Okay, that's my big news for the day. Don't know how I could be boring if I tried.

Decorah branches are MT. New bear update on Shadow's age. Can barely see eaglets at NBG. Phoebe's babes are growing so quickly.

JudyEddy said...

Ladies ladies a chatty day again you know I will never get caught up Just got back from taking Jordyn to the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary WOW did they have lots of VULTURES LORETTA I took some pic and video Funny the blue jays let you pet their tummys when they are on the side of the cage and the woodpecker I got to touch is belly so I guess since they are in enclosures and that is why they are so friendly Gonna put Jorydn down for a nap BBL

Lolly said...

Good morning! Almost to Amarillo! My tush is numb! :). Who is nick? Paula's new love?

Lori O. said...

All caught up now. YAY!

Good afternoon JUDIE - you've already seen Wicked or I would tell you how great it's supposed to be! Trial break?

LYNN - Delta 2 link is very cute. Too funny. Take a look you won't believe it. Sounds like a fun nest up there.

PAULA - Nick is the one. He already has all our hearts. I already have dibbs on the first "guest biscuit." ♥

PA-LINDA - just can't tell you how glad I am that you're back. You were missed. We should all feel the love every time we're here. Prayers for your brother and mother. How's your garden of flowers?

OK - off for a fast -LOL, fast- nap. Actually have help coming over this afternoon to get some big projects done!!!! Hip hip hooray!

Linda said...

Judie - Thanks!!

A quiet day is often times a GREAT day!!

We have had a phoebe nest way up high on top of our spot lights in the back of the house. Unfortunately we couldn't see much because it was two stories up. We watched the Mom and Dad for weeks and then heard the babies......and then came the poop shoots onto the deck!! They fledged while I was away, but Dennis got a great shot of one baby that fledged before the others and literally spent 24+ hours on our clothes line because he must have been fearful of flying further.

Mom would come and feed the baby there and the next day they were gone, the nest was quiet and no more poop shoots!!

hedgie said...

When I went to bed last night it was still 71°. It is now 76°....breezy....humidity is gone! But so is sun...I think rain is a possibility this afternoon/evening.

Linda said...

Lori - Thanks again. I, likewise, can't tell you how happy I am to be back where I feel so loved!!! ♥♥♥

hedgie said...

Hey, Lolly! Tell Jack to pull over so you can do a walk-about!
Has Laurel passed you yet?
Nick is going to be Paula's new canine companion!

hedgie said...

Thanks, Linda.....I don't know a lot about flowers--no green thumbs attached to my hands!

Judie said...

Lori, the Wicked we saw previously was outstanding and, I believe, headed for Broadway. I think this is a touring company.

Linda, so cool to have a Phoebe and babes at your house. We have tons of trees but the nests are so tiny I could never spot one.

Speaking of Phoebe, Jim usually checks in with a report. Hope he's doing okay.

Okay, really headed downstairs. Need food (not calories but food). I guess I'll have to have a glass of water.

Bye

Kay said...

Good Afternoon ! Seeing PALYNN-LINDA back makes it a doubly good afternoon ! Continueing to pray for your brother and mom. Hope you can now get some deep restorative sleep !

PAULA, Nick has such a sweet expression--I just know he's going to be a loving and fun loving guy !

LYNN, that little Liesl is amazing ! She's just taking it all in stride ! Enjoyed the look at Delta2. Do you know how that little bear wound up in the nest ?

Linda said...

Hi KAY!! It's great to be back!

I'm sure I missed a lot, but am happy to be able to reconnect with you, my special friends here again!

Kay said...

JUDIE, my son is an Anthropologist at Rutgers and his wife is a Political Scientist there. They moved to Highland Park, right next door to New Brunswick, 12 years ago. I love visiting them there. New Jersey often gets a bad rap in the press, but is a beautiful State. Does Darth still have family there ?

hedgie said...

Kay, I'm sure mom or pop eagle brought the teddy in! Not the first time....one year, there was a blue one in a nest out there somewhere, if I remember correctly!

Linda said...

KAY - What a small world! I have a neighbor who I believe is the head of the Political Science Department at Rutgers! They go back and forth at times during the year, but try to spend their summers here in PA.

I've only met her once, and will have to ask my other neighbor what her name is.

hedgie said...

Little osprey-ettes are chirping like crazy at Hoda's cam!!!

stronghunter said...

Kay and Judie, I have a cousin who lives at Montclair, New Jersey and studied cultural anthropology at Rutgers. I have not seen her for many years, but recently connected with her on Facebook. Her name is Virginia Cornue.

Kay said...

PA LINDA, I'm sure it feels like you've missed a lot when you can see how many posts we've racked up since you were with us last. You'll soon catch up and if we refer to something you don't understand, just speak up and we'll bring you up to speed in a hurry !

Wow, I wish I was a member of the Southern Delegation this weekend ! They are going to have a blast !!!

LORI, glad to hear you have help coming in ! I'm sure it's going to feel great to see progress being made !

The cam is going a bit crazy, perhaps a storm rolling in ?

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn, I am thinking I would be in Mburg around 1:45-2pm or so...then it looks to be another 45min to an hour to get there...I don't have directions yet.

paula eagleholic said...

Sharon, sounds like quite a crew at the lake...have fun!!

Judie said...

Darth only has an aging aunt and uncle who moved from Carteret(sp) to Whiting. There are some cousins but they don't communicate with anyone. I think Darth's godmother lived in Highland Park.

The blue teddy was about three years ago, I think.

Hi JudyE - glad you had fun again today with Jordyn. Assume she's feeling much better.

BTTT - back to the trial.

hedgie said...

Kay, my sister's hubby is from Carteret....is that anywhere near New Brunswick? Probably not----it is across the river from the NY area where the 9-11 debris was taken for sorting.

Linda said...

Kay - I sent an email to my friend in our neighborhood who introduced us to the lady that is a department head at Rutgers. When I get a response, I'll ask you if your son or daughter-in-law knows her.

Kay said...

Isn't it amazing how often these "small world, isn't it ?" things pop up ? 6 degrees of separation theory would say that many of us are related and just don't know it ! ☺

PA LINDA, I'd love to have your neighbors name to run by DIL, Beth.
I've never heard her say a derogatory word about the dept. Chair, so imagine she is well liked.

SHIRLEY, we have friends who live in Montclair. He is a Rutgers biologist who works out of one of a branch campus up that way. He was Julie and Hugh's matchmaker when in grad school at Ohio State ! Cultural Anthro is exactly my son's field of expertise. I'm so proud of him. He's currently acting dept. Chair, but is not vying for that position. Too much B.S. goes with it and he just wants to be a dedicated prof, researcher and author. How long ago did your cousin go there ?

Kay said...

LYNN, you'll note that JUDIE just referred to Cateret in a post. I'm not familiar with that town, but the kids live about 40 miles south of NYC, so imagine it's about that to Cateret. My DIL's office is located on a high hill at Rutger's and she could see the towers from there on that fateful day.

Kay said...

LINDA, just Googled Rutgers main campus PolySci dept.. The department chair is Cynthia Daniels. If that's the name your friend comes up with there is no doubt that my kids know her.

paula eagleholic said...

Well, my son is right around that area too...went to Rider, living now in Lawrenceville!

Linda said...

KAY - That doesn't sound like her name. Maybe it was another department or she has retired. I believe her husband is jewish, so maybe a jewish last name??

GOOD MORNING,
EVERYONE ...

FOLLOWED BY AN
OUTSTANDING
WEEKEND.

C(°Ù¿°)D Jim

Kay said...

Sounds like we could have a NJ get together if we all just decided to converge on our NJ kith n' kin at the same time !☺

Momster, "mariadangeloart" lives in Jersey. Hey, MARIA, how about checking in with us--we miss you and your beautiful horse paintings ! How close are you to all these NJ towns being mentioned ?

Kay said...

LINDA, perhaps she's at a branch campus. There is an Elizabeth Hull listed as Chair of that dept. on the Newark campus.

Kay said...

Good afternoon, Jim ! Wishing you an outstanding weekend as well !

stronghunter said...

Virginia probably went there in the 1960s. She is a little younger than I am.

hedgie said...

Paula, that sounds great. Want me to do the directions??

hedgie said...

Judie, isn't that something that Darth has kin from Carteret, too? Small world! My BIL was a cop there after military service...but then went to work for GM in Linden.

hedgie said...

Wow, lots of Joisee connections!

Hi, Jim! How's tricks? Hope you are over your cold, and feeling chipper!!! Sure wish you would put a pic up as an avatar so our newbies can SEE you!!!

Linda said...

KAY - I'm not sure, but will let you know when I get an answer from the friend that had us over that night!! Now it is bugging me!

Kay said...

SHIRLEY, Lee was born in 1961, so she preceded him at Rutgers by quite a few years.☺

PAULA, Lawrenceville is between Princeton and Trenton. I'm going to guess it's about 80 miles SSW of the town Lee lives in. Probably on the same train line he's on as it runs from The City into NJ and ends up in Trenton. Rider is one of those small little college jewels that few people are familiar with.

stronghunter said...

I would say, Kay. He would have been a toddler when she was there.

Kay said...

PAULA, meant to ask, what was your son's major there ?

stronghunter said...

Or maybe in elementary school.

Kay said...

LOL, SHIRLEY ! I was still looking at my precious little boy and wondering what kind of adult he'd be and what profession he'd go into. Wouldn't have dreamed of Anthro and Rutgers in a thousand years !

stronghunter said...

Hey, by the way, I managed to figure out the carpet shampooer. It works much better than the old one.

As you might imagine, I have lots of use for a carpet shampooer.

Kay said...

Ya know what ? It really is time for me to do something to justify my existence today, so will BBL to catch up with answers and all the news !

hedgie said...

Glo posted on FB:

Just received text from son in law. Becky has been in recovery for hour or so. They will keep her 1 more night and maybe 2 to wait on test results. Hoping the whole family can still make the trip to SC on Tues. If not I guess the plan is for Eric and Elia to go. Thanks for prayers. Please continue them.

hedgie said...

Awwww----Peter Falk---Colombo---passed away. 83 y.o. Always liked him in that role, and in the movies he's done!

VERY hard with Dex to pull off BUT I was not going to leave her there alone after surgery either so. BUT sounding like they will go and hopefully she will take it easy. Another surgery in 3 to 4 weeks. long story. prayers please.

hedgie said...

Oh, Loretta....how very cool to have a loon! Now you'll have to stay late to listen!!
And PAX cam is working fine now!

JudyE--I can't get our cam page at all now after a refresh attempt. Keeps saying Server Not Found.

hedgie said...

Tried on both browsers---no luck. Guess OC must have a big problem.

JudyEddy said...

NOT MORE CAM ISSUES YUK

JudyEddy said...

Its always to the weekend have you noticed that when there is cam issues I mean

hedgie said...

Judy, I don't think this is a cam issue. It's a web issue for Outdoor Channel.

DanaMo said...

Missed my doctors appointment this morning because I didn't realize it was Friday! Geez, I love summer, but I never know what day it is when I'm not working!

I can't get the cam up, is there a problem? Or is it my computer?

JudyEddy said...

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn, I got directions now on how to get to the Rescue...will email you beginning of next week.

Kay, Michael is about 45 minutes from New Brunswick. He was a sociology major, works in a halfway house.

Bye!!

hedgie said...

JudyE, bet if you refresh the whole page, you will get the page can't be found info!

Here's is cam from Loretta's workplace:

Patuxent River cam

hedgie said...

That's bad, DanaMo!!!! Guess that means it was a routine apptmt. and not for a specific problem!

Paula, drive carefully. Bet traffic will be a bear!

Judie said...

This just gets weirder and weirder. Darth has a cousin who lives in Lawrenceville - used to live in Princeton. Carteret is maybe 15-10 minutes from New Brunswick.

Prayers for Glo's Becky.

Congratulations for Lowreeda's park having a loon. You must be beyond excited.

Sad about Peter Falk. Always really enjoyed Columbo.

Well, must move along to get some food for us and then be ready to leave at 6:30.

Have fun everyone and please try to obey the speed limit so I can catch up later.

Judie said...

Safe trip and have fun, Paula.

PA Nana said...

Hi everyone.

Paula, though you know I'm jealous, please have a good time and some fun with the work at your haven.

PA Lynn, welcome back and continued prayers for you and your family. At first I thought your avatar was a Stargazer Lily. They look similar in pictures.

Wanda, haven't been able to get an email to you. Did you change your addy? Please contact me.

Lynn, sounds like Liesl is doing great.

Hi Shirley and Judie. I saw you too.

PA Nana said...

Loretta, how did you train your kitty? Mine have learned some verbal directions but can't get them to play catch.

If I missed anyone, please don't take it personally. This old brain doesn't work in overdrive.

Kay said...

PAULA, aha, my memory was certainly flawed as I was placing Lawrenceville much closer to Trenton. I'm sure I've been there on the way to someplace or other as it's just straight down Hiway 1 from Highland Park. Apparently all the NJ locations mentioned are in very close proximity to each other. Interesting !

Michael and my eldest, Eileen, would have a lot in common. Her undergrad degree was in Sociology and she's now a clinical psychologist. She's spent most of her career working with the same kind of people Michael is serving.

Have a great weekend in Paradise !

Kay said...

Feeding time at "Loretta's" Osprey nest. All are very happy !!!!

Hoda said...

OK I am bak had a GREAT YOGA PRACTICE and we arew having SUN SHOWERS...Mostly a very grsy wet day with thunder and then all of a sudden the sun is out and people stop in the street and put their faces up to the sun...it is a curious view I observed several times walking to and from my car...

The live feed is out here but the still cam is still on...

Hoda said...

I see I should have proof read my last post...sorry

hedgie said...

Heading out to get the grosseries. Probably not a good time to go, but gotta do it anyway!
Later, gators!

Linda said...

KAY - My neighbor emailed me and said the lady's name I was talking to you about is Kim Shienbaum and she is the chair of the Polital Science Dept at Rutgers. She didn't mention which campus, though.

She asked your son's and his wife names and would mention them to Kim if they are at the same campus. She said they probably know each other! Sue (my neighbor) said Kim and her husband just returned from Greece and she is having breakfast with them next Friday morning!

It would be neat if they knew one another wouldn't it? Kim and her husband are much older than your son would be, I'm sure, but Kim is so very nice.

Kay said...

Prayers for Glo's daughter.

JUDIE, enjoy the performance tonight ! Julie, Hugh and Seth saw Wicked in London last June. They said it was spectacular.

Aw, sorry we lost Peter Falk, always loved his work, especially Columbo.

LORETTA, a friendly Loon ? Cool !

wvgal_dana said...

I thought the only "blue teddy bear" was at the Osprey Site in Conn. Milford. It was 2006 or 2007...a big storm came up and blew poor teddy right out of the nest.

Lolly said...

Scanned the blog quickly. On phone, no wifi. So, Is it now Loony Loweeda? :)

Going to call it quits for tonight!

stronghunter said...

I had fun with your states game, Hoda. It was nice that it got easier as I progressed!

I managed to score 84%. Haven't been to quite all of the states.

stronghunter said...

I bought a wooden map of the states and took it to summer school one year. I was teaching students who were having trouble with SOL testing. Many of them had lots of trouble finding the locations of the states. I recall someone trying to put Washington state where Washington DC is.

I am sure it helps a lot if you have actually visited the states.

I don't know how this is going to work. I have laptop in living room where I can watch tv and comments.

Table is too high plus when I used recliner to get feet up it is harder to do.

JudyEddy said...

Do you have a lap tray to use ???

wvgal_dana said...

No haven't found one yet that will fit under the recliner. Recliner is at the end of a sectional. It has a bar that lays on floor. If I put on lap it hurts my legs.

hedgie said...

I'm b-a-c-k!!! Cold/freezer stuff put away, dinner done. Liesl is wound up---guess the anesthetic is totally out of her system!!!

Yep, saw that new message from OC, JudyE. So maybe it IS the cam....tho' that does not account for why their whole page would be unavailable!

Lolly, time for the campfire!!! Is Laurel at the same place tonight? When does Michael join you?

wvgal_dana said...

Watching Flashpoint it is a good show.

I still want a "baby PANDA at DC Zoo"!!!!!!!!!!!!

hedgie said...

Hoda, sounds like a great day for you! Rainbows are omens of more good things to come!

Margie, do you think the ants were in your potting soil?
Sure glad DMV had another camera---never knew them to have more than one.

PA Nana said...

Oh Lolly! Time for s'mores. yum yum.

Have a fun time with the family. "See" ya when you get back with lots of pix.

Hoda, that was fun! My mouse kept sliding me away from where I wanted but did finish.

stronghunter said...

DanaWV,

I like to place something on my lap and put the laptop on it. A book might work. Sometimes I use one of those placemats that is like a tray.

It lets the laptop cool off, so it does not get too hot.

PA Nana said...

The tree man was here today. Took about 2+ hours, but I can now see the sun and the sun can see us.

Now I can catch the full moon when it comes up. Margie, let me know when to look. Also, I'll be able to watch ISS again. Yippee!

PA Nana said...

Off to join jubby at the tv. bbl

hedgie said...

I got to the ice cream case and MY I/C was all out! SO disappointed! Went around the end of the aisle---freezer there HAD it! SO relieved. Oh, ye of little faith!! Whew. Haven't had any in a couple of weeks---cravings have been a bear!!

Hi, all! I am moving to Montana at the end of this week - driving cross country, taking in the sites, moving van taking responsibility for possessions - except my cats who will be riding with me!! My sister lives in Hagerstown so I want to take a side trip to the nest. Can someone e-mail (profile or momster page) the directions and tips and hints as to the best way to approach the area? It will just be a drive by with my camera ready, but I really don't expect to see Belle as it won't be early a.m. or late evening. BUT I WILL see the sycamore and nest! Thanks, guys!

magpie said...

when the still cam goes black, you can wait 5 seconds, hit refresh and it comes back up !

Irene:
Wow fast work!
I am sure one of the experts will provide good driving directions, and tips and hints....
I am working dayshift Friday and Saturday....might not be able to see you ! Keep us posted on your itinerary
It's not too complicated...but it will depend on which direction you are coming from, before we start on it.

Hoda said...

FuzzleMa where in Montana? There will be two of us close to the 49th parallel on the western part of the continent? This is GREAT...when everyone else has signed off back east we can keep the blog going...LOL

wvgal_dana said...

SHIRLEY I actually need something that will be like a table with legs. To keep laptop off my knees. Hard to find due to that bar under couch. Been searching for awhile very hard to find what I need.

magpie said...

Fuzzle:

If I don't get snagged for an extra shift, I could meet you somewhere and lead you right to it !
We'll see what you say about the whens and wheres of your travels, specifically...

magpie said...

I did see the Eagles at the nest last Saturday twice:
Once around 0900, in branches, and then at 11:10 - IN the nest

Ok Lynn, copy that...LOL

we had brush fire today along power lines, took out 3,000 customers when the power line was affected, but not sure which came first, the afftected power line, or the brush fire !

Listening to todays trail I have watched most of the In Sessions but I still have lots of HLN ones to watch for each day I will never get caught up

hedgie said...

Glenville, that is...not Missoula!!!

Irene, that's really fast work! It would take me a month to pack and plan all of that! Sure hope you have housing ready out there for you!!! Fri. or Sat. would work for me to hook up, too. If you want to do that, let me and Margy know, and we'll pick a meeting spot right off the interstate. I put directions here for you a few days ago! TO start, from Hagerstown: I-81 South appx.20 miles to Exit 16 East (which is Rt. 9). We can hook up at the Comfort Inn just up the eroad a little ways. If you want to goo oall the way to the nest on your own, holler and I'll give you the rest of the directions!!

OMG Fuzzle.......I love Kalispell....more importantly I love the Big Mountain!! We used to ski there every year from 1995 - 2003! Haven't had the chance to go back since then, but hope to in the coming year or two.

We have a good friend who retired and moved to Columbia Falls, which is about a half hour or so from Kalispell!!

Beautiful country up there and so close to the Glacier National Park....another beautiful area.

Safe and happy travels!! I'm jealous! That is where we wanted to move when we left FL, but decided to stay on the east coast closer to family!

I didn't see a camera either I think it changes with each person checking it out I went on two times and was different both times

hedgie said...

Margy, I think Bill said 3 air conditioning units have been stolen from backside of Eagle Plaza.....but he has good security cams on lot. SP have been reviewing the footage!

Linda said...

And fog.....lots of low lying fog in Kalispell in the winter!

Lots of skiers don't like it as much as Colorado because the sun isn't out as much. We liked it because back then the crowds were not nearly as bad there as when we used to go to the ski resorts in CO!
