Hi all. Just wanted to check in. This has been a most difficult week for us. Neither of us remembers being this sick, ever. We are almost no help to ourselves, let alone to to each other. We can barely get any sleep due to the coughing fits. With both of us so sick, and the dogs to deal with and no one nearby to help us out...
Anyway, Steve is feeling noticeably better today. I'm not. Ended up back at the Dr yesterday. Hopefully with the additional meds I'll be on the mend soon as well.
Haven't read back, too tired right now. But I hope you are all well!
Oh, Lynne, feeling SO bad for you and Steve. Dr, should have given you more meds for Steve, too. :( TOo bad no one is closet o help you. Couldn't your MIL come for a visit, or is her health poorly?
Hoping that you and Steve keep turning the corner on these illnesses, Lynne, am sorry to read how bad it is.... wish we were closer so we could help out...
with these winds sometimes the large billboards get uprooted and blown and sometimes the large sign poles like for restaurants along the interstate... just bend straight over ... hope that is not happening here, has before but not recently
Belle is up but doing mire fluff work than egg-tending. And settling back down.
Remember when the big billboard by 81 went over at the hospital, Margy....and the sign of one of the businesses at the south end of Foxcroft. It HAS been awhile. 81 also was shut down in WInchester for over turned tractor trailers.
I-81 near Martinsburg closed in both directions A downed utility line shut down all six lanes of Interstate 81 and the berms of the highway between Exit 12 and 13 near Martinsburg, Berkeley County Sheriff Kenneth Lemaster said at 2:20 p.m. Friday. Exit 13 is the West King Street/Tuscarora Pike exit. Exit 12 is the intersection with W.Va. 45, near The Commons shopping center and the south entrance to Martinsburg Mall.
Yippee! Tax refund deposited today!! Carolyn's, too---they are supposedly out buying a very used truck that Jess wants.....cheap! Of course, she still hasn't gotten her license, and she's grounded anyway, so she won't be driving it anytime soon.
Gosh Lynne I too am sorry I am not close enough to help out. There have been a couple of times in the last 10 years where I am not sure how I would have made it had it not been for my neighbors taking Dex for his walk. I am glad Steve is feeling somewhat better but it does sound like a mean bug thats got the 2 of you. I too wish the Doc had just given you both a double dose of what is working. Hoping for feeling better reports soon.
Lynne I am very relieved to hear from you and so sorry that the news isn't better. Very glad you went back & got more meds and hope they do the trick. Sure have been thinking about you two and praying for your health to return.
Hope Margy's interruption of sleep was not from above apartment.
I feel badly for my neighbor lady. A piece of her siding has blown loose up high. She used my ladder the other day to snap it back. I don't know if it tore this time or not. It is on the other side. Not going out to look.
Still thinking of Kathryn.
Judie sounds like with swelling you have that foot "down" too much....get her UP !!
What is this country coming to? A state legislature and governor is now into union busting. Another fires ALL of its teachers.....who is going to teach the kids???? MO legislators are going to rescind the VOTER approved puppy mill bill.....so special interests now have more clout than the voters. Pure insanity. Okay....off my soap box. For now. :)
Jo, Kris will be going north on 81! But heard that as of an hour ago, it was closed in MD and PA, too----unsure if because of back-up here, or other situations. But it has re-opened here.
I don't think so, Dana. The one branch is on the left side and the other is higher up on the right side. They have the sides built up nicely, although this wind gets through anything!
The wind has really blown the nest around. Lib needs to get n there and do some nestorations soon. She's still keeping an eye on something. Red tails coUld def b a problem. Did I tell u about seeing a red tail take a black bird this wk. And three black birds went after it. The red tail got his dinner. Interesting to watch the black birds go on the chase.
Jack and I have discovered our rh hawk nest. It is in a large tree in the backyard of our neighbors across the street. We can watch the nest with binocs from the end of our driveway. Watched the two of them in another tree, one of them eating. The one eating then flew to the nest.
Wow! What a disturbing dinner here right beside the nest screen. Belle was one loud distracted lady. I didn't like the eggs exposed while she scouted out whatever it was.
Susan, sorry I wasn't very clear on what I said earlier. Brain ahead of fingers or vice versa! Was trying to say "no other known nests sighted, at least not at NCTC." Makes more sense now!
She is whispering sweet nothings in his ear. lol I am glad they are both in the nest. As bad as the wind is and with the problems earlier. She may be telling him now she wants to take over. Yep switch.
Haven't read as far back as I'd like but I think the intruder just wanted that thing Belle had for dinner. The air raids earlier were toward the cam side of the nest. Not Belle or the eggs. Who's the opportunist hunter n tne area?
I showed some of my students the eagle nest today, and they thought it was a baby eagle because the nest looks so huge in comparison to the eagle. I explained that they were seeing an adult eagle in a very large nest.
Cool that Lib stayed so long...hope Belle enjoyed her dinner!
Just finished eating, gotta get some stuff done....picking up my brother tomorrow evening. He is riding down to the beach with me on Sunday. Taking a truck full of stuff down.
We just finished our dinner. We were going to a basketball game tomorrow, but instead we are going to babysit and Laurel and Joey are going to a party. Have not been up there in a while to babysit. Told Jack we are going to be asked to do this more often since Faye is no longer here.
She told us we could come for a game and stay all day. I think that is ruled out as Jack does not want to do yard work. LOL
Lynne, just saw your message. Continued prayers for you and Steve. God bless.
Kathryn had a long talk with the vet today. The vet is an eye specialist in a very small practice. Kathryn is going to need to take Luna there every day next week. The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. The doctor had an accident and broke her leg, so she is having a hard time herself.
Lynne2, hope you and Steve are both continuing to get better. So sorry about you two being so sick.
Missed the nest action. All was quiet when I checked.
Power was out for quite a while but returned in time to fix dinner. Potatoes were good.
Yes, the pie has been cut and portions consumed. Not my best effort. I seem to have lost what skill I had after 3 months of no cooking.
Shirley, I really am sorry about Kathryn's having to make so many visits to FFax but even more I am truly hoping Luna can be helped. Pleasant dreams and rest peacefully.
Paula, if you can take Nugz with you that would be great. Bet he would just love the b____.
Lolly, enjoy tomorrow.
Ankle so swollen. Cannot understand why an incision would take so long to heal. Almost 4 months just seems incomprehensible to me.
Going to turn my light off soon but will leave the night light on for others coming, headed back the hallway, to the tub, up the stairs, or looking to flirt with the sandperson.
Evening Eagle Buds! Haven't read any comments today. The mice have died on the big 'puter. We've tried a wireless we had & arrow still stuck. Fubby took another new wireless back today & got cord version. It even had a CD w/it. Put that in, read 'structions--It said check box for type. We have XP. He bought for Vista. DUH!!! If it weren't so late, I would call techie co. & talk to "Peggy"!!!LOL
Not sure about taking Nugz on Sunday... I want to, but there is only the cab of the truck...there was a small access panel to the truck box, but it's been closed now, so I will have to see again if there's enough room for him to be comfortable inbetween the front seats.
Read most of today's posts. Please Get Well Soon, Lynne & Steve!!! That's just awful :>(
Love the Belle/Lib eggsitting duties this PM! Was at work late, so missed all that. Boy, talk about strange weather at Chelsea----we had sun around 12:30, then real dark w/heavy rain blowing sideways! Sun once again for rest of day, but ferocious winds at times. wonder what the dynamics are with only the single eaglet the last two years...what it's like with no siblings to cruise around with... and where are the offspring have ended up over the years of babies there
need to check with DNR here locally and see if they have any reports of the nest at Sleepy Creek
once in awhile I was wondering if the branches overhead were getting to rain down on the nest but when she got up off the eggs so fast... it sure seemed like something was very very close overhead never have heard the eagles there being so vocal except when the babies do their thing
sure hope Judie's "flirting with the sandman" brings a true fling... busy day, bet that pie was better than she thought...my mother would fuss with cooking and when everyone else would think it was great, she didn't - probaby from fussing with it so much...when all WE had to do was eat and enjoy
I think Megan did ok - had email from her - I don't think the High Winds lasted as long as we thought. I am anxious to see Megan riding around on the large tractor she has!
It's a good thing I have company every once in awhile...otherwise this house would never get cleaned! Things do look better after dusting,, vacuuming etc.

NBG is back up.
I don't have sound at the live feed...anyone else having that problem ?
Oh, Lynne, feeling SO bad for you and Steve. Dr, should have given you more meds for Steve, too. :( TOo bad no one is closet o help you. Couldn't your MIL come for a visit, or is her health poorly?

Thanks for call over, Margy.
saw your post about I-81 at the 12 Lynn, yeah I bet that IS a big mess..
I am on call, wonder, I could get called in...
sure hope not !
Lord Blackwater sure is doing his fatherly duty with the food deliveries at Blackwater...
Wow!
Lynne's MIL is in WV...
I think I lost the sound too...will send a quick email to Steve.
some of those fish pieces remind me of cuttle bones (you know, those flat oval shaped things you put in pet bird cages..)
Hey all...this Saturday is 21 days for eggie #1
Thanks Paula!
Be careful going home...
definitely a two-hands on the wheel kind of driving day
with these winds sometimes the large billboards get uprooted and blown and sometimes the large sign poles like for restaurants along the interstate... just bend straight over ...
hope that is not happening here, has before but not recently
sleep has been broken up today, going back to try for some more
Best wishes for a good evening everyone...

Whoo hoo I have sound
BWE: feeding chicks
C(°ٿ°)D Jim
I have the sound of the wind.. pretty powerful.
Yes, Paula, I know---she's in Terra Alta.....but it would be nice if she could come help out.
Lynn and Margy - 81 - where is 12
Belle is up but doing mire fluff work than egg-tending. And settling back down.

Jo, exit 12 is at Rt. 45 (south side of Mall).

Thanks Lynn .. Kris was at Melissa's and I'm not sure about her travel on 81

Hoping Lynne and Steve get well soon.
Hope Margy's interruption of sleep was not from above apartment.

Looking all around. Something has her upset for sure,
Eagle calling out
What is this country coming to?
A state legislature and governor is now into union busting.
Another fires ALL of its teachers.....who is going to teach the kids????
MO legislators are going to rescind the VOTER approved puppy mill bill.....so special interests now have more clout than the voters.
Pure insanity.
Okay....off my soap box. For now. :)
Jo, Kris will be going north on 81! But heard that as of an hour ago, it was closed in MD and PA, too----unsure if because of back-up here, or other situations. But it has re-opened here.
Saw something swoop over nest, but too fast to see if it was Lib. Belle is up and MAD!
2 eggs in view our nest, Belle standing in the nest...calling out.
Looked like someone tried to land on the nest. Belle is ticked off!!!!
OK, she has settled back in..wiggle wiggle. Love how defensive and protective they are!
Settled back down but on the alert.
Full screen view shows some greenery in the nest.
Not on her watch. She just wasn't having that! Wonder where Lib is?
Lynn-Hedgie check your mail please
Hi everybody. I was just watching nest and lurking til Belle got the intruder. Hey Paula, are there other nesting pairs close by?
Ha. I had two nests up til Belle started calling out. Then went to FULL screen so I could see any action. Intruder is still there.
Do you think with the different branches cut away. She feels the difference in how the air now hits the nest???
Really calling out again.
No other eagles, Dana, but I think there are some redtails in the woods nearby.
I don't think so, Dana. The one branch is on the left side and the other is higher up on the right side. They have the sides built up nicely, although this wind gets through anything!
Oops, meant Susan on the redtail comment.
Thanks Paula. Was wondering about that this week
Pretty colors at BWO
The wind has really blown the nest around. Lib needs to get n there and do some nestorations soon. She's still keeping an eye on something. Red tails coUld def b a problem. Did I tell u about seeing a red tail take a black bird this wk. And three black birds went after it. The red tail got his dinner. Interesting to watch the black birds go on the chase.
Susan, from reports there are other eagles in the area.....but known nest sightings---not at NCTC, for sure, but very possibly in other areas.
Mail back atcha', Dana.
Belle up and preening, now really upset and calling out again
Wow- she is really having a fit now! Loud calling out
Poor Belle....very upset....fluttered up as if preventing something from coming down.
Thanks Lynn
man, she's going at it again. New calls I've never heard.
Wish she would cover those eggs! Wonder what is bothering her.
Boy her screams I pray just scare them off. She is so upset and I know Lib is out there protecting. I hope he is ok too....something just flew over.
Quiet for a moment and more calls, just saw something fly over the nest.
Where is Lib....we need him!!
Did you see that? looked like Lib flew right over nest, you could see wings.
This is crazy. Another nest swoop
Wonder if that was the Liberty escort service :)
I thought I saw something fly by too, but wasn't sure.
If you can take a quick peek, both parents feeding chicklets at BWE
Ah, she is tending the eggs and covering them. Must have been Lib chasing whatever away.
Gee I sure hope the intruder is on it's way somewhere else!
Oh now that feels so good...back down wiggle wiggle...calm now.
What is that food at BWE
Thanks Paula, got there in time to see the whole family. Look at those little faces. Wow!
I see two fish Paula, and one is rather gross.
She said, "Get on outta here before I have to kick some tailfeathers. !!!!!"
Oh, no, is it coming back?
Looks like a fish with long frog legs! Although it's probably those sticks/stalks.
Lib just arrived in the nest.
Oh, she is telling Lib how upset she was!
BWE is covered n fish. Sure hope someone is counting. Lib back.
Lib has arrived
Without dinner. She's giving him a talking to!
Lib and Belle both in nest. Trying to do some nestorations too. Lib might be taking over for awhile.
Now Lib doing nestorations and hitting Belle over the head. LOL She is telling him something!
Off she goes to the right, still calling
Belle is off, Lib now in charge.
Big MOMMA is out an about if it is red tails they better leave the area NOW!!!
Lib's turn. roll and wiggle. He has a white downy feather on his back at the right shoulder area
I want to reach in and remove his fluffy white feather.
Now she's up in the tree, calling out
Belle isn't far. Heard her still talking.
Poor Belle was telling him about it.
Yep Belle is in the "look out tower"....they got her panties tied in a knot. So they better make haste away from that nest.
Have decided that is three fish in the BWE nest and one is a gross whale!
Jack and I have discovered our rh hawk nest. It is in a large tree in the backyard of our neighbors across the street. We can watch the nest with binocs from the end of our driveway. Watched the two of them in another tree, one of them eating. The one eating then flew to the nest.
make that rs (red shouldered hawks)
Light just came on.
Oh, Cool. Lolly.
Did they switch again? Or did Lib lose that white feather already?
Wow! What a disturbing dinner here right beside the nest screen. Belle was one loud distracted lady.
I didn't like the eggs exposed while she scouted out whatever it was.
Keep finding fish in the BWE nest. I think I see 4 fish.
You can see that gross whale at BWE much better now....yup, 2 fish there....the ones eye is shining in the night light!
I think he lost the feather. Have not seen a switch. It was not going to stay there long in this wind.
Oops I meant 3, don't see 4
I didn't see a switch.... I think Lolly reached in and plucked that white downy feather from his shoulder.
I think that is another much smaller fish lying in front of the whale. Then the fourth is near her face.
Ah, you caught me!
Both adults at BWE
Heading home, c u later
Ah, there's Belle, she just floated in!
Belle just flew in
She brought her own food a fish I think.
Ah, you caught me!
Belle is back, going to eat nestovers. Wish we could hear them fly in.
Ah, she's gonna have the rest of that squirrel. Wonder if that was attracting the unwanted visitor?
Lib readjusting, Belle eating.
Later
Oh, did not see her when she landed so did not know she brought dinner.
She had it in her talon
Paula safe travels home.
Parent at BWE working on the gross whale.
Later...really!
Both eagles again at BWE.
Well it is not a fish
Smart bird, knows where the pantry and dinner is.
I see something looks like a leg
I am really not sure what it is that Belle brought in for her dinner but she sure is going at it!
The picture get distorted but I think rabbit. Although I did not see fur flying.
I got the still up too but it isn't helping to identify it either.
She was one hungry eagle!
I am wondering if Judie has cut the apple pie yet.
She went to put her foot up swelling.
Turtle Bay female is incubating their 2 eggs.
Lib is rolling the eggs while Belle is eating whatever she brought in.
Eagles 4 Kids - Lucy and Larry won't have eggs until March. Still some snow in their nest. Interesting note is that a unknown eagle visited the nest.
Wonder if Belle is going to take over the egg cup...........
Look how close to each other they are in the nest. awwwwww sweet
Susan, sorry I wasn't very clear on what I said earlier. Brain ahead of fingers or vice versa! Was trying to say "no other known nests sighted, at least not at NCTC." Makes more sense now!
Interesting to see both eagles in the nest when the cam is this dark.
Mmmm....there we go again...apple pie....Jo, if I didn't know better I would think that dessert is your favorite meal!!! Wink, wink!
Are both birds laying in our nest???? Is Lib trying to comfort Belle? Hard to tell on this cam...but it sure looks like side by side....
Yep, it was....he's turned sideways...But he was touching her head. Awwww!
So unusual to see both white heads in the nest at this time of the evening.
Sorta of nice and cozy to see them there.
Or I may have them mixed up. Belle maybe wants her postition back! Maybe she was eagle-pecking Lib's head!
We have seen this in the nest in years past in the nest. Where they both lay beside each other. Or one will set near the one laying on the eggs.
So, is that Lib still on the eggs?
Maybe he has decided that staying on the eggs at night is not so bad. LOL
Lib is on the egg cup (pretty sure)
Belle is standing beside him (pretty sure)
Belle always takes the night incubation so I guess she is waiting.
Yes Jo there has been no switch yet Lib is on the eggs.
He is being very stubborn, not getting off the eggs.
I thought Belle left but she is up on the edge of the nest at 11:00
I thought Belle left but she is up on the edge of the nest at 11:00
She is looking restless.
Perhaps Lib's shift isn't over until
7 pm
Maybe since the wind is so strong, he wants to stay.
Your wind was on our news tonight.
I just feel right now she has been helping to keep the wind off him and the eggs.
With all the commotion this evening I get the feeling of 'danger'
Two in the nest is better then one.
Belle I looks to b posturing to tell Lib to go
She is whispering sweet nothings in his ear. lol I am glad they are both in the nest. As bad as the wind is and with the problems earlier. She may be telling him now she wants to take over. Yep switch.
Ah, Belle finally got Lib off the eggs.
Yepperss
Looks like he is about to hop up into the tree.
I will be glad to hear when Paula is home.
Lib poofed!
And now Momma Belle is on the eggs.
Lib is on the edge at 4:00
Hope he gets where he is going...
Didn't look as though he went upward but hope he is near by
After that I am taking a break!
This is a real good one:
Dolphins help Doberman
Haven't read as far back as I'd like but I think the intruder just wanted that thing Belle had for dinner. The air raids earlier were toward the cam side of the nest. Not Belle or the eggs. Who's the opportunist hunter n tne area?
Put in your favorities anyone can use it goes by zip code

Dana, I love the gas price site.
Hi,
I showed some of my students the eagle nest today, and they thought it was a baby eagle because the nest looks so huge in comparison to the eagle. I explained that they were seeing an adult eagle in a very large nest.
BWE sure needs some kitchen clean-up. What a mess!!!!
Dana, I'm home safe and sound...went to look at a kitchen table...
So good to c Belle resting after such an eventful evening.
Cool that Lib stayed so long...hope Belle enjoyed her dinner!
Just finished eating, gotta get some stuff done....picking up my brother tomorrow evening. He is riding down to the beach with me on Sunday. Taking a truck full of stuff down.
Great glad you are safely home Paula (:
Winds aren't as bad as earlier today.
Lynne, glad Steve is better and hope the new meds help you. Wish I was closer as well ♥
We just finished our dinner.
LOL

See you tomorrow.
LOL...the dog knows! He knows I'm going somewhere!
Shirley...thanks for the vet explanation. Hope the surgery does Luna well.
Shirley, you all have had a rough week, and it sounds like another one ahead.......hope your weekend is relaxing. ANd poor Luna....:(
Lolly, poor Jack. Don't blame you all one bit for going up later in the day.
Paula, can Nugz go with you Sunday??
Egg roll
Lynne2, hope you and Steve are both continuing to get better. So sorry about you two being so sick.

Shirley I hope you go into a very sound sleep - prayers for Luna and also for Kathryn!
Does Nugz have a second home? It looked like a lot of running room for him down there!
Oh yes, he certainly does. Will need lots of towels handy...he loves the water!
