Most of the talk this morning has been about EARL coming up the east coast.
Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has declared a state of emergency in preparation for Hurricane Earl's expected brush along the state's coast Friday. The emergency declaration activates the state's National Guard to provide assistance if necessary.
What is going on .......... An offshore oil rig has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, west of the site of the April blast that caused the massive oil spill.
I was just going to comment on the hurricane, Mema Jo, when I read the breaking news about the rig explosion (actually they weren't sure yet what it was though).
I hope "the big wind with hole in the middle" stays far enough off shore that major damage is avoided in all areas, including yours, but they just don't know for sure yet what its path will take.
Happy Thursday Everyone. Sorry I didn't return last night---fell asleep in the chair as usual. Been trying to read older comments. Lynn, prayerful wishes to your SIL and friends for good health and to Diann's BIL. Hope Earl doesn't get too close, but even so will cause some high water and wind on coast. Glad Judie is getting a fresh set of Drs. Hope they fix you up soon. Chrissy says that she went back to original dentist and got the antibiotics she WAS supposed to have after her dental surgery. Her file is red-flagged that she should get them, but dummy at hosp. wouldn't do it. He is probably in big trouble and of course her healing has been delayed. Gotta get some lunch and see exciting soap!!! ☺
Class is over and so is my school week. This seems like a good group of students -- not afraid to ask questions or to answer them.
Shirley, maybe you could invite your singing/dancing honors student to honor the class with a musical version of an assignment.
Lynn, glad Christie is feeling good about the training and that Carolyn had a successful first radio communication. Progress all around.
Condolences to Tracey and Lynn's friends.
Hope Candy will escape the wrath of Earl.
Wanda, a G&T might do the trick for GG. If not her, then maybe for yourself.
Hi Jim. Thank you for the holler!
Lolly, glad you have rain without the hurricane. Enjoy your day off.
The oil rig situation doesn't seem to be a serious crisis, yet. Just checked CNN. Hopefully, that will be the case. Seems no workers were injured or killed -- very good news.
Well, going to get ready to go home. Will return later today.
I just sent out the Sept b-day list with the emails for our celebrants by an E_M email. If you are not a registered Eaglet Momster/Dadster send email to Paula to sign up. If you didn't receive the list you could also email me.
Stopping in for a quick howdy before I run to the store and finish my homework for tonight.
Ms. Black-headed Grosbeak is back today, chowing down on sunflower seeds and suet. She shows up with the house finches and sparrows. I still see one house sparrow that's really unusual--wish I could get a good picture of her! Instead of looking like a regular female sparrow, she's very light in color all over--kind of a light buff color, like all sparrows are underneath. The only other color she has is on her wing coverts--she has rusty brown "epaulettes". She's not quite an albino, but a really unusual color mutation! Don't see her really often--when I do, will try again for a picture.
Now my mouth is burning! Some of the brats he smoked are seasoned with jalepenos. He ate half of one for lunch. I just snacked on the remaining half...yummy, but call the firetruck!!!!
Hello! A few family members are coming for dinner. I was out on the deck and that heat hits you as soon as you open the door. I've been thinking - I wish squirrels and birds would eat stink bugs It is early season for them and I am fed up with them already.
Jo, I wish so, too. I saw one with it's wing stuck out and it was red! Some areas around here are also having the same problem with ladybugs!!I haven't before but I've seen about 6 today.
Hi! I'm back from 7-11--Hubby needed me to buy 6 quick pick Lotto tickets for him and the gang at work. The Mega is up to $16 million this time. (Gee, wouldn't mind adjusting to THAT bank balance!)
Need to go turn in my homework for Practice 4 now. Will be back later, probably after dinner. Later, alligators!
Sorry about that Lynne great rescue and hope pigeon heals fine. Thank you Shirley maybe I should have something to drink and I might get comment straight. lol
Well, wouldn't you know it? I snooze, I lose---a glimpse of our bird!! Let dog out before I went to sofa and saw a 6" walking stick on the window! Creepy!
Well dang it all. Lolly and Judie so very very happy you heard and saw our eagle - my adrenalin is racing along with yours even though I said all that and then walked away for a few...
OC Forecast:Ocean City is currently under a TROPICAL STORM WARNING. Based on current forecasts, Hurricane Earl is expected to pass approximately 150 miles off Ocean City’s coast by Friday afternoon. By the time Earl reaches off the Ocean City coast, it is expected to be a fast moving storm. It is anticipated that Earl will be completely clear of Ocean City by Friday evening and the remainder of the weekend’s forecast is favorable! You can Head to the Beach!
Jo, they are expecting 80,000 people at the air show!! Between the previous one in '05 and going to Oshkosh for the big fly-in once, and Hagerstown a couple of times when they had airshows.....I'm going to skip it. The Thunderbirds will perform both Sat.&Sun., but they will be practicing tomorrow just after noon.....so I think the KMart parking lot will be a good vantage point to try to get some pics!
I'm going to take my bath now and get comfy before the game starts at 10. BBIALW. Do I hear clunking at cam? Can't see a thing thanks to Boris..........
Good evening... Speaking of the T Birds, Gene was on his way home from gassing up the Eagle Express when he heard this awful, loud noise...thought something was wrong with the vehicle! Was relieved to realize it was planes:)
How lucky was Lolly to get to see an eagle in our nest?:) I woke up early this morning, around 5:45am and turned on the puter in hopes of catching a glimpse of one of our pair, but if there was one, I wouldn't have been able to see it...Spidey was VERY busy last night:( Wonder how they are coming along with our new HD cam...anyone heard anything?
It was a treat to see an eagle. I think it might have been Lib. Helps to make up for not being able to see Palmer growing up.
G'night Shirley. Have a good day at school tomorrow -- think looooooong weekend.
Lynn, have a nice breakfast get-together tomorrow. Go Skins!
Jo, I would welcome jacket weather. Sick of the heat and humidity.
Am going to try to watch some of the Skins game. Probably fall asleep. So might as well turn my blog light off but will leave the night light on for others. Pleasant dreams everyone.
Prayers for Charlie, Karen, Kailey, Ethan, Chrissy and others in need. A special prayer for the research bears.
I don't think any word about HD has been released.
I have only attended 1 Airshow It was the last one held at the Frederick Airport The highlight of the show was the Stealth appearance. It was so beautiful - slim and sleek and moved soooooooo smooth.
Jo, we had the stealth here about 20 yrs. ago---it was a fantastic sight! Have pics somewhere, but not sure where!! Probably in a box in the hope chest.
When you say 20 yrs ago it sounds like a long time But that would probably be about right as I am now 70 and it was probably when I was about 50.... All I remember is that it was a 'beauty'
It was exciting because over the loud speaker they were instructing us exactly where to look for it to appear and ZOOM there it went... So fast and smooth......
The flickers are a beautiful bird, but they don't grace us with their presence very long...a few days and then they are gone until next year. I have never read up on them, so I don't know if they migrate or just don't like our feeding station.
I'm gonna go ahead and give this puter its' rest. See all of you sometime tomorrow. It will be a busy day for me. Rest well. Praying that Candy is doing well---bet she won't sleep tonight. G'night my eagle pals.
Getting really late!Been watching TV & dozing. Gotta go see what happened w/the Skins! Wanda, love the flicker pics. In case I konk out again, want to wish everyone Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Well, have had dinner and watered my houseplants. Having to water them more often than once a week because of the much warmer weather.
Had a bit of fun turning in my homework today. My printer is running low on black ink, so saved my work to a flash drive and planned on printing it at school. When I got there, found that my work looked like heiroglyphics! My laptop did a BUNCH of upgrades last week, and apparently now my Word is incompatible with the school computers. The school computer whiz kid happened to be in the computer room (Thank God!), so he looked at the situation and figured out that my Word must now be the 2010 version. The school computers have Word 2003. Long story short, I had to come home, resave the work in a different format, and go back to school to turn it in, after printing it. Good thing school is only 4 1/2 miles away! Oh, well. No school tomorrow, and a long weekend!!! YAY!
Eeeeewwww! I'm VERY glad the exterminator is coming next Thursday to spray the yard for bugs! There's a cousin of Boris out in our yard who's made a gigantic web about 3 or 4 feet across, that starts on a tree branch and goes out to the middle of the yard!!! I haven't seen the spider yet, but bet it's a HUGE one! Will NOT try for a picture of it! Will go out there armed with a broom! Do NOT want to be captured in its web!
Well, think I have a program to watch in a couple of minutes. Judie left the night light on. I'm leaving the porch light on for those coming in. Have said prayers for everyone--especially those needing healing. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Sleep tight, folks, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
Well, it's me ... late at night again. This is what I do when I can't sleep. You will be able to see this tomorrow, but tonight I want to send prayers for all needs and wants. You all are very special to me.
Prayers for all those for which we were asked to pray and a special prayer for my BIL Charlie and my own health.
Lynn, a question, please? What is a low hemoglobin? I'll watch for your answer either on here or in an email. Thanks
Good Friday Morning everyone Thankful that Earl isn't leaving too much of his mark on the east coast. I've been reading emails and FB and the blog. Looks sorta dismal out today - hope it isn't the calm before the storm.
Just a quick Hello before I blast off---hope everyone has a great day. Very cloudy here, mid-70's, but NO rain! Hope it never gets to 90° this PM. Safe wishes for all on the coast, like Candy. Later~~~~
GOOD MORNING... It was a beautiful morning when I first got up...68° and I watched the sun come up and the birds come awake. I love doing that with the patio door open and a cool breeze. But now, door is closed and living room A/C is on. 79°...going up to 96° AGAIN:( Glad there have been no disasters to our friends on the East Coast...sorry that we aren't going to get any rain from EARL!
Wow, Wanda! We are going to be cooler than you today. Double wow!☺
Jo, I love the Nova Scotia cams! Jack and I plan a trip there someday. We will be so close in a few weeks, but it is not on our agenda this time. We have talked about just flying there, traveling around in a rent car and staying at B&B's. Jack really wants to see the tides at the Bay of Fundy.
Fogot to mention that Capt. Gene took the turtle that he gifted me with, back to where he found it. I,m sure he has a Mrs. and some little turts, somewhere:)
Caught one groundhog in trap yesterday and reset to try to catch the HUGE on that is very elusive. Went out this morning and sure enough, something BIG was in the trap. A racoon, it was...Gene set him free...he took off up through the woods like a freight train (Oh, I said TRAIN...shhhh). Coons are so beautiful...love to watch them come around at night and see what mischief they can get into!
I'm getting ready to make stuffed peppers for Family Dinner tonight, all from our garden and mostly GG's. All red ones...sweet and none of the bitterness of the green ones that sometimes happens. I let all of the peppers turn red before picking them. Do need a little green ones for flavor, so I will throw in a pack of green ones that I froze earlier. Jayden loves adult food now, hope he loves my pepper stuffing...don't think he could handle the digestion of a pepper yet.
Coons masked faces are loveable and they are interesting to watch except when they topple a garbage container. Remember that one cam we used to watch with the coons (Not PA Woods)
I am headed out for a few hours Westward Ho! Head for the Mountains!
Thank you Mema Jo for Peggy's Lighthouse. I did not have that link on the labtop. When I click on it and it came up. I have to tell you my first thought was "NORMA". She used to love this site.
Wanda please tell Gene I left him a comment at his flicker pictures (:
The reason I am late getting on here. Is because today would have been Ed's and my 22 Anniveresary and 23 yrs together, and we will always remain together. I took down "I Love You" balloon and sat an had coffee with him. I did remember to tell him to bring his own. He loved sugar, sugar, sugar in his and French Vanilla powered creamer. I got a smooch and we hugged.
I know some will think I'm nuts. That's ok too. He is with me and we meet there, here at home and different places. THE BEST PLACE IS ALWAYS IN MY HEART. (:
I don't know if any of you that live around here got the "Hospice Mag.Autumn 2010". In it was part of a letter, it went like this (beautiful):
Your death has left a gaping hole in my life and heart, producing an emptiness I know will never be filled. I miss your voice, the sound of your laughter, those funny endearing things you did, those moments when I was infuriated at you. I miss the dreams I had for you and with you. I miss the future we will never have and the past, which, no matter how long it may have been, will never be long enough."
It says in the letter she continues to share her reflection on her suffering. But she also gradually feels and expresses hope, ending with this promise.
"I let you go, my dearest. I know you will never leave my side, as I will never leave yours. Thank you for the wonderful, unique relationship we shared. When we meet once more,I look forward to sharing these new experiences with you. I love you. I miss you. I will never forget you."
I have to tell you when it mentioned the "infuriatgin part". I cracked up. Ed use to say, "Dana I am picking up my book to read do you have anything you want to talk about?" "No", I would say. Then he would say, "Dana I have the page that I am going to read. Are you sure there is nothing you want to talk about?" Thinking again, "No" I would say. Then lastly Ed would say, "Dana I have my bookmark at the word and I am going to start to read before I do last time. Do you have anything you want to talk about?" Again thinking, I said, "No Ed I can't think of anything". He would say, "Ok I'm am now reading." I can't tell you how long it was before something came to mind. Of course, I would have to say, "Ed when you get to a stopping point let me know." LMBO
Hello my Eagle Friends... This has been a long and arduous work week...and I have three more days to go..counting this afternoon 2 pm to 8 pm. Air Show, consuming lots and lots of energy and time, all hands on deck, folks working extra hours and days off...I think I am off Monday! I have not been able to read the blog much since four or five days ago... I did see Judie's and Lolly's post that there was an Eagle at the Nest in the evening, was it Thursday?
I can't even say, Yay about the great happenin's and Sorry about the tough ones...because I have not been able to read about any of it !
You know that I care, and I do always make time for my prayers...
Today, is Red Friday of course
Take Care, Friday for many of you, and the rest, well, days off are coming soon I hope !
Slept in late this morning--didn't sleep much last night. Not sure why, but just wasn't sleepy. Happens fairly often lately.
Had ABC on the TV because of coverage of Earl, got busy doing housework, and then came back to sit down for a bit, and heard that TRAIN will be appearing on the Regis and Kelly Show on Monday! Don't usually watch that show, but certainly will on Monday!
I have returned - good trip - Traffic looked like everyone was headed for the mountains! I finished sending out all the SEPT B-DAY e-cards. I need to buy also 2 cards for snail mail to family.
Well, Jo, I sat in KMart pkg. lot for over an hour before thy finally started...only 2 planes, and a bit too distant+hazy. Decided to try to go elsewhere.....road that was supposed to be shut down wasn't so ended up in bowling alley parking lot and got some better shots---I think. Haven't looked yet. Carolyn just said there were mechanical problems and they ended up not started full 5-plane practice until 3:30----argh! I left too early.
John (Kris' hubby - Forest Ranger) got some daytime pics on his cam on his property - gray fox The whole reason for setting up the cam was due to them seeing 'eyes' up in the tree at night when they put a light down on the border. Are you aware that gray foxes can climb trees? So the bobcats were not the animals they found on the cam --- so far.
lol - after I wrote that about foxes in trees... I googled Fox Facts.... Interesting Facts: Gray foxes are not observed as frequently as red foxes due to their reclusive nature and more nocturnal habits. Gray foxes tend to be active from the late evening hours until dawn. They will readily climb trees, jumping from branch to branch while hunting or for protection.
Wellllll... Between a not-too-good night of sleep, an overcast morning, a very long nap, the big golf tournament in Boston, I'm on here late, and all I can say is
Jo, told Mits in email this morning how much better that Surfline cam is than the one they have on OBX---there are three ads, and then it only runs a couple of mins. before restart needed---and then the ads all over again!
Of course if you waited too long the zoo camera swung around to the other side of the yard.... It really was a riot - you'll need to take my word for it.
Only have a couple of minutes to talk. Spent the last 20 minutes or so getting signed up on the laptop to do online banking. This is the first time I've been able to do so--never could on the PC. Hubby's signed up on his work PC. Glad I'm finally successful--beginning to feel out of the loop! Maybe our old PC wasn't compatible or something. Anyway, feel like I really accomplished something today! :o]
Soon as Hubby gets home we need to think about going over and taking care of SIL & BIL's bulldogs. They are staying at a timeshare up north this weekend. Better go do some damage control with the makeup. Wish I could borrow Margy's makeup fairy!
YUp, looking better in OC and Rehobeth. I couldn't get the inlet cam, watched the kite loft cam and the one at Indian River inlet. Water is up, but rest of it looks good.
Finney Water should be up now. Mits alerted me earlier to day. Right now it is right after midnight - We might want to try to open before we close out tonight.
Finney Land - I check it regularly but have yet to see any of the Osprey.
As I was saying - Mits alerted me this am that Finney water is back on. It is 1am now so check it right before you sign off tonight. Finney land - I have checked throughout the day but have yet to see any of the osprey still there.
Oh, lovely wind is blowing cooler air! Along with lots of leaves and twigs! Can't win! Temp is now 83 (was 95!). Jo, a bit of rain would make things better for the air show! Clean the haze out of the sky, plus make walking less miserable in all that dry grass at the base and airport!!
Got online over an hour ago & got involved w/emails! Guess I'll be doing some writing over the weekend! ☺ At 9 PM, I couldn't get Live Cam either--said "Not Available" & Still was webbed over! Altho it got really humid, wasn't it great to have a day under mid-nineties??? Now if Earl could have only brought a few raindrops. Gotta remember the evening meds & do a couple things before the News, so if I konk out & don't get back, Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>)
It does really feels good outside... The surf is still really rough... Steady line of cars going into OC on RT 50... Small groups on the boardwalk - looks like jackets are a must...
I have to tell you that Jayden LOVES stuffed pepppers...that made me happy, bescause I made one teeny tiny one just for him. Photo of him eating it on JUST FOR FUN.
Getting back here to say goodnight. We went and took care of the bulldogs. Left a fan on for them so the laundry room they're in will stay cool tonight. It was about 101 in Yorba Linda today! Pretty hot here at home, too. It's down to about 78 now, though.
Wanda, love the pictures of Jayden! That little guy knows good food when he tastes it, too!
Well, have some TV shows recorded that I need to go watch.
Leaving the night light and the porch light on for others. Have said prayers for everyone. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Sleep tight, and sweet dreams. Will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love you guys! :o]
Have tried to read from yesterday. Seems GG has opened a bar and several of you are having issues with toilet paper.
Love the pictures of Jayden, Wanda. He really is so cute.
I did grocery shopping yesterday. Legs were a bit tired. After dinner, fell asleep, woke up at 12:30am, went back to sleep. More tired than I realized.
I brought home a big pile of papers to grade, of course. Things have changed so much. When I first started teaching, we entered all grades in a paper gradebook and calculated grades with paper and pencil. Now all grades are entered in the computer, calculated by computer, and parents can access the gradebook (their child's grades) by computer.
Good morning! Was 63 when I got up. Fantastic sleeping with the windows open.
Jack did armadillo hunting last night but no digging in the yard last night. Must have seen him coming!
Going to Laurel's this afternoon. Jack is making "orders". (hor dourves) I have a Peanutbutter Cookie Pie to make to take to Dallas tomorrow. Yesterday was Ashley's 40th birthday.

Good morning again and thank you Steve for the fresh Thursday thread and to you Jim, Thank you much for calling us over.

An offshore oil rig has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, west of the site of the April blast that caused the massive oil spill.
Luckily it's a refining station and not a drilling rig, Jo!
Hi, Jim and Lolly.
It doesn't sound like we here in nest region are even going to get any rain out of this 'cane... :(

I'm back....now to catch up!
Has been slow on here today. Had great shopping...found a Batman backpack and Batman pj's.
Jack has been smoking meat all day. I am getting hungry. He smoked a brisket and brats. Yummy!
Now my mouth is burning! Some of the brats he smoked are seasoned with jalepenos. He ate half of one for lunch. I just snacked on the remaining half...yummy, but call the firetruck!!!!
Gee, Andy, neat-sounding sparrow....it is hard to get pics as they flit about so fast!
Loretta, no Dr. apptmt. today??? Yippee! Poor Chrissy----thanks for update.
Judie, glad your class is a good one!
Thanks for amended b-day list, Jo.
Loretta----hope you don't have to work tomorrow.....Skins game doesn't start until 10 tonight!!!!
Hello! A few family members are coming for dinner.
I was out on the deck and that heat hits you as soon as you open the door.
I've been thinking - I wish squirrels and birds would eat stink bugs It is early season for them and I am fed up with them already.
Well, looks like the Hatteras cam has frozen....it's supposed to update every two minutes----seems to be stuck on 5:22. :(
What's the link for the hatteras cam...I know you said it was stuck.
Back and fed dog and did a shower ever feel so good. Don't want Earl catching me in the shower lol
Prayers for ALL to be safe and that Earl causes no major destruction.
Pretty hair do Hedgie-Lynn (:
Got our nest cam up alrady see spidey web.
Jo, I wish so, too. I saw one with it's wing stuck out and it was red!
Some areas around here are also having the same problem with ladybugs!!I haven't before but I've seen about 6 today.
Oil sheen on water in the gulf around the new rig fire. :(
Company is here for dinner
BBL
Dana----how do you know my do is decent??
Paula.....Hatteras lighthouse cam
Hatteras cam
Going to sofa for a little snooze---had a beer with dinner---s-l-e-e-p-y!!
Uh oh! Lynn is passing out! LOL
Was not going to go outside and work, but did for a while before Laurel called. Left a pile and unfinished work outside.
Hi,
Winding down and watching television.
Dana, it was Lynne who rescued the pigeon. She deserves the credit.
OK, Lynn, thanks...I found that one too.
Lolly, have my spicy sausage ready to grill, yum.
If you are on FB - find Hawk Mountain Sanctuary page. Eagles, as many as 36, have been counted in one day of migration.
Sorry about that Lynne great rescue and hope pigeon heals fine. Thank you Shirley maybe I should have something to drink and I might get comment straight. lol
Hedgie-Lynn because I just feel it is.
Lynn needs a nap because the Skins don't come on until 10pm this evening.
Our nest would be extra beautiful if an adult eagle or two would fly in.
Adult in the nest!!!!!!!!!!
Well, it was! I saw it!
I hear some clunking at our cam
Stupid ad! I saw an eagle, the ad cam on, nest cam back, saw eagle, posted, then eagle gone!
Looking at the still cam and the live feed - Spidey has overdone it tonight
There was a flap of wings sound..then gone, but made my day!
Seeing an eagle through the web, is rather ghost like! LOL
Your comment, Jo, made me go to the cam.
Hear the insects!
Lolly you didn't pull up the still and get a picture?
Did not have time,
Hello all.
7:50pm adult eagle in nest for approx. 1 minute. Took off and then heard tap dancing on the cam/microphone. Was a nice treat for me.
Dinner over. Tired. Going to catch up on newspaper then return. Probably won't make it until the Skin's game.
Lynne, what was the outcome for the injured pigeon?
Yea, Judie! I saw it too!
Well, wouldn't you know it? I snooze, I lose---a glimpse of our bird!!
Let dog out before I went to sofa and saw a 6" walking stick on the window! Creepy!
Yep, Jo---plus I have to get up early for retiree breakfast tomorrow!!
Well dang it all. Lolly and Judie so very very happy you heard and saw our eagle - my adrenalin is racing along with yours even though I said all that and then walked away for a few...
Well Hedgie - what are the air show days/hours that Margy was talking about. Will you get to see any of it.
LOL, guess that's why I heard the clunking! Missed the eagle, but glad you saw it, Lolly!
Still hearing some tapping and clunking
Our weather has been weird!
So hot during the days - 90's and up
The evenings cool down to the 80's
The picnic for Saturday late afternoon may be breezy and cool.
Germany has been quite cold. Sammy had to wear a jacket to school the first 2 days.
Jo, if you go to the Hawk Mountain website, you can sign up for migration updates via email.
I'll do that because I sometimes forget to check. Sounds like now is the time to be there.
So this weekend you can look to the sky and see Thunderbirds
Going to catch 1 TV show this evening..
BBL
Getting ready to head upstairs. Tired. See you later. Good night all.
Jo, apparently the T-birds came in today----I heard them....and Carolyn said they heard them at work in town, too.
Raining and blowing in the OBX now.
Good evening...
Speaking of the T Birds, Gene was on his way home from gassing up the Eagle Express when he heard this awful, loud noise...thought something was wrong with the vehicle! Was relieved to realize it was planes:)
How lucky was Lolly to get to see an eagle in our nest?:)
I woke up early this morning, around 5:45am and turned on the puter in hopes of catching a glimpse of one of our pair, but if there was one, I wouldn't have been able to see it...Spidey was VERY busy last night:(
Wonder how they are coming along with our new HD cam...anyone heard anything?
Back for a quick visit.
Almost forgot, the Flickers came back for a visit today and Gene got some pretty neat photos.
Check them out on WILD AND WONDERFUL.
20' waves already---Hwy 12 overwashed in many areas......
Kick-off shortly---Go SKINS!
Oh, Judie...you got to see Mr. or Mrs. also? So special, isn't it?! In another month or so, we should be seeing a lot of them.
I don't think any word about HD has been released.
I have only attended 1 Airshow
It was the last one held at the Frederick Airport The highlight of the show was the Stealth appearance.
It was so beautiful - slim and sleek and moved soooooooo smooth.
Goodnight to our teachers, Shirley and Judie!
No, Wanda, no news on the cam.
Jo, we had the stealth here about 20 yrs. ago---it was a fantastic sight! Have pics somewhere, but not sure where!! Probably in a box in the hope chest.
The pics of the Flickers are fantastic!
When you say 20 yrs ago it sounds like a long time But that would probably be about right as I am now 70 and it was
probably when I was about 50....
All I remember is that it was a 'beauty'
It was exciting because over the loud speaker they were instructing us exactly where to look for it to appear and ZOOM there it went... So fast and smooth......
The Game Is On...
3-3 tie.
The flickers are a beautiful bird, but they don't grace us with their presence very long...a few days and then they are gone until next year. I have never read up on them, so I don't know if they migrate or just don't like our feeding station.
I think I recall Sharon having a pair of flickers nesting in a tree in her yard. How sweet is that?!
I guess I'll watch the game til sleep overtakes me:)
I have been sooo sleepy lately, but when I go to bed, I'm WIDE awake!
Cowboy game has only 10 min to go. I would not be able to stay up and watch a late game. Not all that interesting with none of the starters playing.
Where is my Norma when I need her?
Ravens 14
Rams 27 5:34 Q4
Redskins 3
Cardinals 3 0:54 Q1
Well, shucks, Ravens! What are ya' doin'??
Ravens just got a touchdown 21 now
to 27 but only 3:41 min left
Think I am headed to the shower and beddy by!
Nite all! Sweet dreams! Thinking of Candy and those in the path of the storm.
I'm gonna go ahead and give this puter its' rest. See all of you sometime tomorrow. It will be a busy day for me. Rest well. Praying that Candy is doing well---bet she won't sleep tonight. G'night my eagle pals.
Watching the game has made me s l e e p y...off I go to bed.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Ravens had a loss.
Skins still tied at 3
Update on the Bears
Sorry Skins not tied - they still have 3 but Cardinals have 10. I can't stay awake any longer....
Good Night everyone
Praying for all want/needs
Hugs to all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Getting really late!Been watching TV & dozing. Gotta go see what happened w/the Skins!
Wanda, love the flicker pics.
In case I konk out again, want to wish everyone Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Hi, Everyone,
Well, have had dinner and watered my houseplants.
Thanks
Good morning---y-a-w-n! Short night.
Diann, you have email.
Looks like OBX has survived with minimal problem.....MTBD at daylight. No cams current.
WIll see you all some time this afternoon.
Good morning.
Slept late. Just woke up. Haven't checked hurricane weather yet but overcast here and 76º
MT nest. Bears safe, so far.
Going to get coffee and newspaper and turn on t.v. to catch up. That's my equivalent of multitasking.
Fell asleep but sorry about Skins loss. Will see who remains standing after Sat. Also think Ravens lost.
Lynn, hope you're having a nice breakfast and all others are enjoying the morning.
BBL
Morning, all.
Have a great day!
Good morning! It is a GREAT day! 71 this morning. Just finished reading the paper on the patio and I was cool! House is open once again!!
Monday will be three weeks til our trip. Getting excited! Have a lot to do between now and then.
Just love the RVing ad on our cam. First one I have liked! It is a good one!
Good Friday Morning everyone
Thankful that Earl isn't leaving too much of his mark on the east coast.
I've been reading emails and FB and the blog.
Looks sorta dismal out today - hope it isn't the calm before the storm.
Hope you all make it a good day...
Peggy's Cove and MORE
Just a quick Hello before I blast off---hope everyone has a great day.
79°...going up to 96° AGAIN:(
Glad there have been no disasters to our friends on the East Coast...sorry that we aren't going to get any rain from EARL!
Time for me to head out. To nice to stay inside.
Have a great day!
Hi Wanda - Dinner sounds gooooood
Coons masked faces are loveable and they are interesting to watch except when they topple a garbage container.
Remember that one cam we used to watch with the coons (Not PA Woods)
I am headed out for a few hours
Westward Ho! Head for the Mountains!
BBL
Good Friday in Eagle land to ALL.
I took down "I Love You" balloon and sat an had
coffee with him. I did remember to tell him to bring his own. He loved sugar, sugar, sugar in his and French Vanilla powered
creamer. I got a smooch and we hugged.
I know some will think I'm nuts. That's ok too. He is with me and we meet there, here at home and different places. THE BEST PLACE
IS ALWAYS IN MY HEART.
Be back later going online to look at auctions.
TTFN and for who knows how long !
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ♥
Hi, Gang,
Slept in late this morning--didn't sleep much last night.
Margy,
Sure hope things slow down at work for you! That's probably a pretty tall order, but I can hope!
Oops--dryer is calling me--gotta run for a bit. Will be back! :o]
I have returned - good trip - Traffic
looked like everyone was headed for the mountains!
I finished sending out all the SEPT
B-DAY e-cards. I need to buy also 2 cards for snail mail to family.
My feet are going up
BBILW
Ya all think that Lynn is still sitting over in the parking lot looking for those Thunderbirds....
I just happened to think about her...
Those Thunder birds are flying around Martinsburg and are VERY ANNOYING..deafening noise...over and over again:( Right over my house!!
Leaving for GG's...BBL♥
Hi all y'all. Catching up slowly but surely.
For those not on FB....check out this lovely Blackwater photo:
Osprey-Up close and Personal
Well, Jo, I sat in KMart pkg. lot for over an hour before thy finally started...only 2 planes, and a bit too distant+hazy. Decided to try to go elsewhere.....road that was supposed to be shut down wasn't so ended up in bowling alley parking lot and got some better shots---I think. Haven't looked yet. Carolyn just said there were mechanical problems and they ended up not started full 5-plane practice until 3:30----argh! I left too early.
Jo, which mountain did you climb??
It was VERY hot in those parking lots!
Heard that poor Margy got called into work....no rest for the weary.
Then read her post!
Wanda---saw an ad for a bar/restaurant in Hagersbush called Ge Ge's!!! Is she keeping secrets?? LOL!
Hedgie - South Mountain West on 70
Then East on 70 - Westward was the most cars.
That pic of the Osprey shows you how beautiful they are. Lynn, I wonder what Deb's shirt turned out to look like.
John (Kris' hubby - Forest Ranger)
got some daytime pics on his cam on his property - gray fox
The whole reason for setting up the cam
was due to them seeing 'eyes' up in the tree at night when they put a light down on the border.
BBILW
Surf is up
Wellllll...
Between a not-too-good night of sleep, an overcast morning, a very long nap, the big golf tournament in Boston, I'm on here late, and all I can say is
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
GOOD MORNING, aLL!!
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
...maybe you can apply it to the morrow.
[:~D] Jim
Jo, thought maybe you had come my way without letting me know!!!!
Yes, I did know that fox climbed trees! So do bobcats, of course!
Pam said the shirt was just one of Deb's pics with an encircling logo of SD Bird Restoration Project or some such text.
I keep saying BBILW BUT then I find something to share.
For Heavens sake if you can view the SD zoo Elephants - Do It Now.
All of the little ones are playing in the Mud Pit!
Jo, told Mits in email this morning how much better that Surfline cam is than the one they have on OBX---there are three ads, and then it only runs a couple of mins. before restart needed---and then the ads all over again!
Of course if you waited too long the
zoo camera swung around to the other side of the yard.... It really was a riot - you'll need to take my word for it.
Well when you become an OBX property owner you can get that cam changed!
Jo, have been watching the tide come in at Halls Harbour, Fundy Bay. It is very interesting.
We have had the AC off all day. Wow! High was 83. With the ceiling fans we are very comfortable.
Jim Good Morning to you
Sorry that your day is going to be
so short - that is depending when you
go to bed tonight. I am just glad to
see you on here
Hi, Everyone!
:o]
Hi, Jim,
I didn't sleep worth a darn last night either, so slept in till about 9:30 am or so. Know what you mean--where did the day go?
Soon as Hubby gets home we need to think about going over and taking care of SIL & BIL's bulldogs. They are staying at a timeshare up north this weekend. Better go do some damage control with the makeup. Wish I could borrow Margy's makeup fairy!
Will bbl tonight, after dinner. Have a great evening!
YUp, looking better in OC and Rehobeth. I couldn't get the inlet cam, watched the kite loft cam and the one at Indian River inlet. Water is up, but rest of it looks good.
Heading home,,,,hooray!
Finney Water should be up now. Mits alerted me earlier to day. Right now it is right after midnight - We might want to try to open before we close out tonight.
Finney Land - I check it regularly but have yet to see any of the Osprey.
Way to go, Andy! Knew you could do it!
I THINK we just MIGHT be blowing up a storm here......hope, hope, hope. Won't help what is already dead, but might save some stuff.....RAIN DANCE!
Just got comment knock off with a server error.
As I was saying - Mits alerted me this am that Finney water is back on. It is 1am now so check it right before you sign off tonight.
Finney land - I have checked throughout the day but have yet to see any of the osprey still there.
I can't wish for a rain dance with the Air Show taking place tomorrow.
Something really chirping away at our nest...oops now it's stopped
Just was watching the news and weather. Low tonight in the upper 50's, low 60's. We are loving it!!
Dinner on the patio coming up!
Breezy at the nest...couple of dark clouds here...
You've convinced me
COME ON RAIN
Just got back from walking the dogs. Anyone else's live feed down?
Still cam is still working
I am headed in for 9:00 TV show
BBL
Paula, no live cam either---it said not currently available.
No live feed for me!
Jack and I just came in. Had a delightful dinner on the patio. Sat there, drank wine and conversed. ☺ A fantastic evening!
IT hangs on the wall. ☺
WALLPAPER!;)
Picture frame!!!
Wooden eagle to hang on the wall!
Hello,
Just stopping by to say good night. I have had a busy day and will see you tomorrow.
Good night and God bless.
Gotta remember the evening meds & do a couple things before the News, so if I konk out & don't get back, Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>)
It could be a wall clock...
12" tall would hold all 12 hours
Lolly does it have a
12" width x a 12" height?
Bear Update 9/3
No Osprey early morning at Finney Land
Looks as though in a little while the sun will be up and cam may be on at
Finney Water.
Finney Ferry
Getting ready to turn in...work tomorrow and Monday...catch ya'll tomorrow.
Hugs to all ♥
Nope to the 12" width!
Jack just said Cuckoo Clock! LOL
I just love how you picked up on the clue. ☺ You all are the greatest!
Well - ask Jack if you can tell me the
width! and does it say Cockoo ?
Wind is now just a light breeze. No rain. :( Temp 77°.
Jack says "Not in English." LOL
72 here!☺
A toilet tissue holder;)
Goodnight to all turning in. I'm bringing up the rear.....prayers for all. See you in the morning!
It does really feels good outside...
The surf is still really rough...
Steady line of cars going into OC on RT 50...
Small groups on the boardwalk - looks
like jackets are a must...
I have to tell you that Jayden LOVES stuffed pepppers...that made me happy, bescause I made one teeny tiny one just for him.
Photo of him eating it on
JUST FOR FUN.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Lolly - ask Jack if I have to
PRESS 1 to make it say cockoo in
English lol
ROFLMBO A toilet tissue holder that says cuckoo, but not in English!
He is thinking......
His reply...Cuckoos in Italy only say Cuckoo and if you press anything the result might be distasteful.
This has been fun! But I am getting goofy and you all in TX are always ahead of me! You best go looking for the armadillos!
Thanks for joking around with me.
It is time to head back my hallway
Good Night to All
Prayers for All
Hugs to All ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
LOL Jack says...dead armadillos can hang on walls!
Love you, Jo. Good night! Sweet dreams!
lol
Good night to all! Sweet dreams!
Have a great weekend! (Down to 70 now and going down! Love it! Just love it!)
Hi, Everyone,
Getting back here to say goodnight.

Good morning.
Sunshine here with breeze and 71º
Have a lovely morning.
Going to find coffee and newspaper. BBL
Good morning!
Been reading about
Train on Regis and Kelly
stuffed peppers
tree-climbing foxes
surfin' in OC
hot brats
and, of course, stink bugs
I am getting an extra-long weekend. Of sorts. I have a dental appointment on Tuesday, so I will be taking the day off.
Yay, the computer has already found a sub for me for Tuesday.
Morning, all!
Loverly day!
Live feed is back on :)
Split about to happen!!
Hi Paula! Good morning.
