Good Morning - beautiful weather... Thanks Steve..
This special morning my flag flies as always and there is a candle burning on my front porch for all to see. I am praying for all as I remember this day of nine long year ago. When you close your eyes it is right there in front of you. God Bless America
There is one I especially like from a Solider: Thomas Lawrence I am reminded everytime I don my uniform why I am proud to fight for this country's freedom! GODBLESS AMERICA AND IT'S CHILDREN! OORAH!
Morning Bob - you're so right about last chance for osprey pictures.. I like the picture Lisa put up on the site as to how we'll know they are no longer around..LOL
I really love the snowy white egret in flight! I love each and everyone of your photos - You are such an exceptional photographer. (But I don't like snakes - except in pictures)
Irene, thanks for the copycat recipe. Will give it a try soon.
I too am remembering this date nine years ago and how confused and angry my students were. None of us knew what to do or say. I remembering canceling all my classes, waiting from the trains to begin operating, and trying to find a working phone to call Darth. The flag is flying at our house.
Beautiful picture Robert Bob. As always, a special treat. Thank you.
Thank you, Jo, for the Mason update.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine and relief from the heat and humidity.
Slept late. Been in the kitchen this a.m. Crab cakes, cucumber salad, sliced tomatoes for dinner tonight.
Lost my internet connection all morning. Oh, PELOSI!
BOB, thanks for treating us to you photos this beautiful morning:) The snake PARSELTONGUE reminds me of Dustin when he was about 4yrs. old. He was wandering around in our woods as we worked in the garden and came and told us that a snake was up there. Gene asked him what the snake was doing and Dustin said "He talking to me". Well what did he say, Dustin? "I not know what he say!" That is 'PARSELTONGUE':)
Speaking of snakes...last evening, Andrea mentioned getting some of those 'sticky traps' to catch those "Freaky Spiders". They do work. That is what I caught the snake with that had wandered into the house through a screen door not closed tightly enough, last fall. It held him there til he ran out of PARSEL;) Catches anything that steps or crawls onto it. Caught a bird once and had to 'put him down'..no way to get him off without harming him:(
Almost forgot...Eagle was in our nest at 6:36 this morning...too many webs to take a photo. Didn't stay very long...don't know how long she/he as there before I took a peek.
I've returned from CVS - Lion and her nursing cub are visible now - they were probably back in the one end which the cam doesn't show. Beautiful out there.... Going to take a break....
Yippeee-----got the leaves blown! So now just praying for rain to tamp them down to k eep them in the woods! And to give a chance at life to my bushes/shrubs/trees.....SO dry...we are showing in the Severe Drought area...I can attest to that!
Well, I did some comparison shopping. The woman at Medicare was very patient and explained lots of things to me. I have joined AARP, but I did not check out their plans yet.
The Medicare woman said that I can cancel if I find a better plan. I have been stressing over this for so long that I thought I had better make a decision today. I have the paperwork to apply for Part B. That is next.
Hope it doesn't rain on your picnic, Lynn. Shows to go you...no rain for umpteen days and calls for rain on your picnic day:( Hope you are under cover and won't have to worry even if it does rain!
Haven't heard a forcast today, but hope the rain comes (if it does rain) in the night...ALL NIGHT!
Did notice today that my pyracantha seems unaffected by the drought---that's the only thing! No hummers or flutterbyes since Monday, so guess they are all gone for this year. Never have had so many butterflies as I did this summer.
My hummers are still here...was 6 inches from the feeder yesterday morning, getting ready to take it down to fill out, and the hummer came and got a good meal. Guess he's getting used to me :)
Gee, Wanda, I don't KNOW if there is a pavilion.....it's at Poor House Farm Park....it's always been at Byron in Williamsport before....never been to Poorhouse. Any idea?
I'm fretting over what to wear---can't really decide until I know if it's raining or not! No clouds yet----just saw the young moon. But thinking positive thoughts---it just HAS to rain!!!!
She said that I will be notified that I have to pay a penalty because I did not get Medicare when I got Social Security, but all I have to do is prove that I have had insurance through my employer and it will be okay.
That's good, Shirley...that penalty can add up! I may be mistaken about the part B and D? That was my understanding...I don't even remember what part B is for! LOL
Ed's gd is taking classes at Hagerstown Community College. She wants to be a nurse. In Biology she has to write a paper by Dec. on something medically that has happened to her or someone she knows. I want to say, "Please write something on yourself like having Cayden and the C-Section". I pray I can do this. If I can't I will just have to be honest and tell her. I know she will understand cause even though she wants to do it. She said, "Boy I'm glad I won't have to get up in front of the class and read this. Cause that I could never do".
I know ALL your Eagle prayers will help me know what to do and help with this anxiety attack I'm having. Thank you and God Bless you for your prayers for me.
The Medicare lady sounded well-informed. I have to get Part B from Social Security, and I could not talk with them today. Medicare is always available.
Dana, take a deep breath...it will be okay. I'm sure the paper must have to be about the illness/disease...not the emotional impact/aspect. Prayers for you all.
I have been on phone calls.... Sorry if I missed anything.... Daughters' mother in law has passed on and just needed some family calls. Nana was 90 and lived a very good life with 4 children and many many grandchildren and great grandchildren. I'll be back later....
Dana, could you steer the young lady towards your medical problems? Stenosis would be a good subject to do a paper on and you could give her information inside out and upside down:) Tell her of the treatments you have had, from the shots you have been given to the swimming exercises. Tell her about the pain and the relief that you get from some treatement. I found that when you told us about walking on uneven surfaces (like the yard) and how that would throw your back out(I now have that same problem, but with my knee). Prayers for you to do what's best for you♥
Hi all! We are home. It has been a long day but fun. Jack and I helped Laurel get the house ready for the party and Joey took Joseph to his soccer game. Party was at 1:00 but three of the neighbor kids were there at 12:30. Poor Laurel was feeling miserable with her cold. Party was a big success, then I helped with the clean up. Then afterwards we just sat and talked and had a glass of wine. Jack went out and got our supper and afterwards we came on home.
I went back to the e-mails I saved from 9/11/01. Rus and Will were living very near the Pentagon then. I was at school trying to manage some very upset students. You have to read from the bottom up.
> Will has to work but I am coming home tonight. I > need to see my family.
> Hi Guys, > So good to hear from you. I was worried. It was > really > good to hear from both of you. Stay in touch. > Love, Mom
>Mom, we are both okay. The explosion woke Will and myself up. We can see the Pentagon burning from here. I cannot call Fredericksburg because all the long distance phone lines are out.

Hey, guys
I'm trying to get this message to you. Contact me if you can. Are you okay?
Oh, Shirley....those messages are real keepsakes for you all.
Wanda---don't know. Union used to have the whole thing catered. Can no longer afford that, so everyone is supposed to be bringing something. I imagine they will supply the hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken, tho'.
Rain is in Morgantown right now and seems to be headed this way. Doesn't look like much more than 22 drops:) May even disappear coming over the mountain.
I had ninth graders. Most of them were very serious and quiet. A few were silly, and the others wanted me to make them be quiet. It wasn't too hard to make them settle down.
We had televisions in the classrooms at the middle school where I was then, so we watched television all day. Some had relatives who worked at the Pentagon. One girl was in tears and ran into the restroom and I found her and hugged her.
I don't think any of their relatives were among the killed or hurt, but there was a young couple from Culpeper who were flight attendants on the plane. A number of my students knew them.
Many parents came and picked up their children.
The father of two of my students (twins) was a firefighter who was at the pentagon.
Something I will never forget was the day Kathryn and I were on I-95 and we saw a huge line of trash trucks headed south. The smell was overwhelming. There was no doubt that it was the burned remains of the Pentagon.
We went up there about a week later to see the Pentagon. There were lots of people there and I have pictures somewhere. Hunter was about 10 months old.
Our whole family is avid Harry P fans. Laurel, being a reading teacher, introduced us to the books. We loved them!
Laurel is always reading books for young people as she wants to know all about the books her kids are reading. She has recently passed another book on to Jack. He is always reading, usually has several books going at once.
We have all read the Twilight series and we are Lord of the Rings fanatics. Well, I really should say Jack is the fanatic. I read Lord of the Rings 37 years ago! I was sick with the mumps. Jack brought the books to me and said "Now you can finally read them. No excuse." He was doing all the house keeping and child care.
That's pretty funny, Shirley...doesn't sound anything like anything!! Just hissy noises!!
I don't care much for the kind of books you all are talking about! Haven't read any of Twilight, either. I like Civil War history (and romance!) and medical and law and crime stuff! And I always have at least two books going, too.
Goodnight to all heading to the pillows. I just caught up with today's posts and wanted to at least check in.
Spent the day with my new desktop computer. Bless his heart, Jim put it together for me and now I'm learning how to operate this one.
I did figure out how to copy my favs on a disk from the old one but have no idea - yet -how to get them on this one. So please bear with me if I need to ask for a link or more. This was the first one I looked for and found. Whoopie"!
I like Baldacci, Shirley, along with Cromwell, Patterson, Crichton and Conley, etc.
Will go ahead and say goodnight since so many of you are turning in. Still nothing up from MN yet. Will keep an eye out until I turn in.
Sleep well, my fine, fowl friends. Prayers for peace for the world...and for the poor souls and the families of those who lost their lives 9 yrs. ago., and since.
Lynn, we DO have a lot in common, i.e. our reading preferences. I love civil war history and much as you do.
Our #2 son, keeps telling me I'l love the Twilight series, but it just doesn't seem like somehting I would like to read. Too unreal maybe. He got the whole series of books for Christmas last year.
Sorry I missed the eagle tonight but I was otherwise engrossed in this new Dell.
In a few days I'll hopefully figure out the minor things I need to do at least.
Until then, prayers for all gifts, losses, picnics, birthdays, etc. It has been a sad day for everyone. Tomorrow, tomorrow.....♪♫r♫ Dana, hang in there, you never know when something you say will help someone else.
Hi, Everyone, Getting here very late, I know, but I figure it's better late than never!
Have been busy today. Went out to breakfast, then to do all our weekly grocery shopping. Had to take our car to the dealership for a new headlamp. They were nice enough to install it for me no charge. Copied some old photos that our daughter wanted for a photo collage she's doing.
Have been spending a lot of time today thinking of what happened 9 years ago, and reflecting back on how we all felt that day and the days shortly thereafter. Certainly a HUGE day in our history, that we never will forget. Shirley, your e-mails that you saved are very much like some that I remember. Isn't it something how all of us felt such a strong connection to family and friends, and to our country! It was just horrible what happened that day, but it made us all stronger as a family, and stronger as a nation. God bless America!
Dana, praying that you will make the right decision, and have the strength to get through it.
Mema Jo, so sorry to hear of Nana's passing. Prayers for you and the rest of the family!
We are taking care of the bulldogs again today and tomorrow, so after dinner we went over and let them in for the night.
Gosh, look at what time it is! Guess I'd better say...
...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUZANNE!!! Hope your day is a wonderful one!!!
Well, going to leave the porch light on for lateniks. The night light is on. Prayers have been said for all. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Sweet dreams, everyone! Will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, goodnight, and God bless our nation! Love all of you! :o]
Excellent RAINY morning here!! Can see things perking up a bit, too. Carolyn even heard thunder in the early morning hours. Thank you, Lord! Glad I blew leaves yesterday so that the trees had a clean slate to paint with more! ROFL!
I got a bit of rain in the night. I heard it coming down hard, but it seems to be over. I will need to water plants today. I took care of the trees Friday and yesterday.
I see some very parched trees around the neighborhood, and the trees get most of my attention, along with the potted plants.
I got to hear David Baldacci speak at a textbook presentation for teachers. He wrote a novel for young people.
The novel is good except for the ending when he tried to solve every problem that he'd presented in the story to the point that it lost credibility. Even the students noticed that. And most of them thought it was boring, I'm afraid. I think they could not easily identify with the characters.
Right now, my students are reading Jeannette Wall's The Glass Castle. Most of them really like that one. I always have parents who want to read it as well.
Speaking of rain again, it looks like all of the rain now is along the coast.
I suppose we could get one of the hurricanes out there in the Atlantic. A very gentle storm could bring needed rain, but we do not want one that's not gentle.
Good Morning everyone - love the cool WET weather for a change! I have the baby shower at noon - all gifts are in the car - amazing what you can get for the 5th baby in a family - photo album, scrapbook, lotions and of course a new outfit and blanket that you hope the siblings won't take because it is so soft! I thought about keeping it but it has a yellow duckie on it. Thank all of you for your thoughts & prayers for Kristen and hubby and especially for her 2 girls that loved Nana so dearly. As I said 90 years was fantastic life she lead. Now Nana and hubby are together.
I bought a lavender plant awhile back and need to plant it. For now, I think I will put it in a larger pot and find a good spot outdoors. I liked the lavender that grew at a house we once lived in, but it attracts so many bumblebees that I have to think about where to put it.
The lavender we had was right by the walk and the steps to the street. It was hard to use the walk because of all the bees. I had to trim it back a bit to give us space to get by the bees.
URGENT MESSAGE......if anyone knows of someone in Berkeley Co. who could foster a horse or two or more.....53 horses were seized....even hay donations would be welcome. Let me know if anyone you know can help.
Lynn-Hedgie I can let you know Monday if Rhonda can help or knows of anyone. The Officce will be open then. She has horses her daughter rides the barrels.
I think I heard it too, Judie. My trees were joining in the happy uproar. It got pretty loud in the middle of the night. I thought it was just the rain I was hearing, but now I think it was more than that.
The Glass Castleis a memoir. Walls has had a very adventurous life to say the least. She lived in West Virginia for awhile and now lives in New York and Culpeper, VA.
Walls also wrote Half-Broke Horses, a story about her grandmother. It's classified as a novel, but it's based upon a true story.
I understand that Wall's mother might be seen painting on the sidewalks of Culpeper. I have not told my students that. I do tell them that Walls lives in their county, but they are not to show up on her doorstep, for heaven's sake.
I like to think that the video was made in Culpeper County. I do know that her husband belongs to a foxhunting group there. I have a friend who also belongs to that group.
Good Sunday Afternoon Everyone! Blogger 503 wouldn't let me sign in!!!I don't like signing every time, used to stay on for a couple weeks! Anyway, we had a nice, light rain, but don't know if it was enough! Been trying to catch up & saw Bob's spectacular pictures!I didn't see any ospreys yesterday, altho there might be some (you need a boat!), but platform near office had a GBH most of the day!!Guess he wanted a better view the lazy way. Friend of co-worker at Park was looking for the old plane skeleton next to a path in the woods & couldn't find it, tho she's seen it before. I went after work & took pics of area w/landmarks (downed trees) and it & emailed them. Need lunch~~~

Spreading the word of our Saturday thread.......
Good Morning Mema Jo and thank you Steve for the new thread.
I have been on a facebook page reading comments. The page is called
"LIGH A CANDLE TO REMEMBER, AND NEVER FORGET". So so many comments.
I have my flag flying outside and I have a candle in the window.
Hey Jo. Yes, a special day of rememberance for all the heroes.
I was out at BW on Thursday. It might be my last chance for osprey this season. Here are the photos:
BW Photos
There is one I especially like from a Solider: Thomas Lawrence I am reminded everytime I don my uniform why I am proud to fight for this country's freedom! GODBLESS AMERICA AND IT'S CHILDREN! OORAH!
Morning Bob - you're so right about last chance for osprey pictures.. I like the picture Lisa put up on the site as to how we'll know they are no longer around..LOL
Going to go indulge myself with your photos..
Robert - what's with that snake!
I really love the snowy white egret in flight! I love each and everyone of your photos - You are such an exceptional photographer. (But I don't like snakes - except in pictures)
I don't care for snakes either but if something crosses my path I can't help snapping a shot.
This is worth bringing over from the other thread....
When you're holding a hammer.....
lol Mema Jo I was hoping I would get my comment in before you got yours in.
I was going to ask you, "Jo what do you think of Bob's 1st picture?"
I like the "ROBERT" lol
Thanks for Mason update reminder, Jo. Truly a good(?) "picture" of what life is and will be for the rest of theirs.Sad.
Loved your pics, Bob!!!! (aka ROBERT!!!) THat must be Jo's stern voice!
It must be Parseltongue.
Bob - Tell me the meaning of that word
Parseltongue - I know you just made that up! LOL
LOL, Bob, had to look that one up!!
Yep, that's w hat it was!
Good early afternoon.
Thank you, Steve. Enjoy the beautiful weather.
Irene, thanks for the copycat recipe. Will give it a try soon.

Slept late. Been in the kitchen this a.m. Crab cakes, cucumber salad, sliced tomatoes for dinner tonight.
Need to check critter cams. BBL
Here you go, Jo....not made up:
Parseltongue is the language of snakes; A speaker of Parseltongue is referred to as a Parselmouth .
I am heading out to CVS - need some wrapping paper...
I am really sooo tired of
Error 503............
Oh! Senior moment - I remember that from reading my Harry Potter book....
Sisssssssssss! is the only parseltongue that I know.......
Now are we calling Bob aka "ROBERT" (that's Jo's stern voice) a Parselmouth?????? Maybe not for just one snake (eeekkksss) picture.
lmbo
Lost my internet connection all morning. Oh, PELOSI!

The snake PARSELTONGUE reminds me of Dustin when he was about 4yrs. old. He was wandering around in our woods as we worked in the garden and came and told us that a snake was up there. Beautiful out there....
Going to take a break....
BBILW
HI, I haven't been able to read all of the posts, but I would like to see the lions you are talking about. Where are they?
Great Cats - National Zoo/Fonz
Thanks, Jo. I got it. They are cute little babies.
Sometimes they get out of camera range
They are growing and moving around lots
Four of them - and one of them is the wanderer.....
Going to go get ready for Sat night Mass. Be back before I leave.
I think she is nursing them now. She looks very relaxed.
Yippeee-----got the leaves blown! So now just praying for rain to tamp them down to k eep them in the woods! And to give a chance at life to my bushes/shrubs/trees.....SO dry...we are showing in the Severe Drought area...I can attest to that!
Well I done went and came back without telling a soul! But I sang Eagles Wings and said prayers for everyone.
Need to find some dinner now.
BBILW
Does anyone see something on back of our nest???
Don't know what it is......
Eagle!!!!! Whatever is in back didn't move.........
And poof!
EAGLE IN NEST
I got a picture ! Hearing moving around up in tree.
Still someone up in tree...clunk, clunk.
Pic in album. Are they our evening alarm clock???
Hi,
I'm looking and listening, but not seeing or hearing eagles.
Well I'm glad I look back before I opened and connected in. Lynn-Hedgie already got it in the album ( :
Shirley check your email I sent around to Momster Email picture of eagle in nest tonight.
Thanks, Dana. I needed an eagle fix.
I am hearing something now.
Picture is great - and Yes! Lynn
they are our evening alarm clock!
Check out the lion den - zonked out!
I have been spending a good part of the day hard at work. First, I got myself enrolled in Medicare Part D. Then, I started working on school stuff.
I want to give my students some questions to work on Monday, and I am trying to find sources for them to look at for the answers.
That's it for me.....web is too obvious---yuck!
Dana - your picture and Lynn's are different times... go ahead and put it in the album.
Good that you saw one, too, Dana.
Congrats on completing Part D, Shirley! Comparison shopping to the max, huh?
Ok LADY JO (:
Cake is baked for tomorrow's picnic.
Doing a little cosmetic work on me now....manicure next.
Race is on, Lowreeda!!!!
Well I be they are different pictures. Hay Lynn you and me are pretty good. We got two pictures lady ( :
Lynn are you having a picnic tomorrow or is it for something special. Like someone's birthday?
Well, I did some comparison shopping. The woman at Medicare was very patient and explained lots of things to me. I have joined AARP, but I did not check out their plans yet.
The Medicare woman said that I can cancel if I find a better plan. I have been stressing over this for so long that I thought I had better make a decision today. I have the paperwork to apply for Part B. That is next.
Hope it doesn't rain on your picnic, Lynn. Shows to go you...no rain for umpteen days and calls for rain on your picnic day:(
Hope you are under cover and won't have to worry even if it does rain!
Haven't heard a forcast today, but hope the rain comes (if it does rain) in the night...ALL NIGHT!
Parseltongue, eh?
Just missed the eagle, was out mowing...glad I got it all done, let it rain rain rain!
Having a refreshing beverage and time to feed the doggies.
Nice pics, Robert :)
Lynn, have fun at the picnic, rain or shine...they said it should finish up by noon, sure hope they aren't wrong about the rain, we really do need it.
Mema Jo you have mail
I guess that you know, Shirley, that you have to have part B, before you can get part D.
What's your beverage Paula?
Coors Light....very refreshing after mowing the lawn. Got the tomatoes marinating, now time to scare up something for dinner...
Did notice today that my pyracantha seems unaffected by the drought---that's the only thing! No hummers or flutterbyes since Monday, so guess they are all gone for this year. Never have had so many butterflies as I did this summer.
And eagles this morning and this evening, sounds like a good routine :)
Thanks for the pics, got to see them from the last 3 nights....7:30 is the time now to see them in the evening...
Dana, it's the UAW (union) picnic.
Any idea?
She did not say anything about that, Wanda. She enrolled me today.
She knew that I had not enrolled in Part B yet.
Lynn, Park has a Barn and a Gazebo...don't know of any pavillions
I managed to get myself locked out of my Social Security program at their website, so I have to talk to them about that.
That's good, Shirley...that penalty can add up! I may be mistaken about the part B and D?
That was my understanding...I don't even remember what part B is for! LOL
Part B is to pay the doctor bills.
I hope I am okay so far.
I have to get everything lined up before the first of October.
Thanks, Wanda. Hope we have the barn if it's raining. Doubt the gazebo would be big enough for our crowd!! Usually around 400 people!
Yep, Wanda, you're right. Part B required to get Part ....unless something has changed recently.
...to get Part D....finger missed key!
I need some EAGLE prayers please.
Ed's gd is taking classes at Hagerstown Community College. She wants to be a nurse. In Biology she has to write a paper by Dec. on something medically that has happened to her or someone she knows. The paper has to be turned in by December. She wants to write the paper on Pappy "Ed". We just got off the phone because we were both crying.
She will need to go over more than what we just did. She will be interviewing me at some point. I thought I could do this. Right now I am having Anxiety over going through it all for her.
Doctor Bills...you are right, Shirley. I need the services of a memory specialist;)
Lynn, there is a fee to rent the Barn...something like $50, but don't know for how long.
Prayers for you, Dana.
The Medicare lady sounded well-informed. I have to get Part B from Social Security, and I could not talk with them today. Medicare is always available.
One frustrating thing is that they will not cover one of my medications. They say it is over the counter, but it isn't.
RAIN approaching Richmond! Hey, Shirley....getting close!
I said RAIN, not Train, Bluefield gals!!
Dana, take a deep breath...it will be okay. I'm sure the paper must have to be about the illness/disease...not the emotional impact/aspect. Prayers for you all.
Weather map shows rain to the west and rain to the south.
Heard a feather shake...heard one about 10 minutes ago too :)
400 people...that's a big picnic!
I have been on phone calls.... Sorry if I missed anything....
Daughters' mother in law has passed on and just needed some family calls.
Nana was 90 and lived a very good life with 4 children and many many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I'll be back later....
Aww, so sorry to hear that, JO.
Prayers for you to do what's best for you♥
Rain is still way out there...hope it makes it here.
Sorry, Jo, to hear about Nana. Was she ailing for a long time?
Sorry to hear that news, Jo. Prayers for her family.
Paula, we 've had close to 2000 employees through the years. Throw in spouses, and kids of the youngers ones....and 400 is a small representation!
Paula, I read that Emmitsburg was having a crab feast tonight and it was something like $50 per person!
GOLD PLATED CLAWS:)
I went back to the e-mails I saved from 9/11/01. Rus and Will were living very near the Pentagon then. I was at school trying to manage some very upset students. You have to read from the bottom up.
> Will has to work but I am coming home tonight. I
> need to see my family.
> Hi Guys,
> So good to hear from you. I was worried. It was
> really
> good to hear from both of you. Stay in touch.
> Love, Mom
>Mom, we are both okay. The explosion woke Will and myself up. We can see the
Pentagon burning from here. I cannot call Fredericksburg because all the
long distance phone lines are out.

Hey, guys
I'm trying to get this message to you. Contact me if
you can. Are you okay?
Mom
I wonder what is on the menu for your picnic, Lynn? I love picnics!
Shirley, can you remember some of the comments from your students?
What were their age group?
If you are a Harry Potter fan you know all about parseltongue!
Jo, sorry to hear the news about your daughter's MIL. Prayers for the family.
Let's see...TCU just won 62 to Tennessee's 7. Yep! That's my school!
An hour ago, I saw stars---lots of stars!! With leaf canopy thinning out, had a decent view. Now clouds have rolled in. Hoping the rain is to follow.
I wonder...was PARSELTONGUE a word before Harry Potter?
Jo so sorry to hear of Nana's passing....prayers for all the family.
Night to all
Prayers for those that need them
Prayers that someone today touched someone's heart in a good way.
Oh, Shirley....those messages are real keepsakes for you all.
Wanda---don't know. Union used to have the whole thing catered. Can no longer afford that, so everyone is supposed to be bringing something. I imagine they will supply the hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken, tho'.
Oh yes Hedgie-Lynn have a WONDERFUL picnic tomorrow.
Rain is in Morgantown right now and seems to be headed this way. Doesn't look like much more than 22 drops:) May even disappear coming over the mountain.
Good prayer, Dana...nite♥
Love a covered dish picnic. Everyone brings a favorite dish of theirs and everything is sooo good:)
I'm not a Harry Potter fan....don't know about the word before that. I never heard it until today!
Well, it's not in my '88 Websters!
Parselmoth
I don't know if somebody posted this already. I have gotten behind in my reading on here.
Your 9-11 recall is very interesting, Shirley...especially seeing the trash trucks:(
I guess we all have our own stories about that day and the days to follow.
I think it is a word created in Harry Potter.
Oh, that web site is funny! We can all learn parselmouth....NOT!
I am sure many of my students are reading the Twilight books. I have yet to read one. I think Kathryn has read some of them.
I got it to translate "eagles."
Maybe I should ask my students about parselmouth.
I just noticed that I wrote "moth" in the link. Oh well. It still links.
I could sneak it into a vocabulary list or a crossword puzzle.
Good Night Eagle Pals....
God Bless America, and
God Bless Us, Every One
xo (( hugs and prayers )) ♥
Night, all. Pleasant dreams!
Hugs to all ♥
We have all read the Twilight series and we are Lord of the Rings fanatics. Well, I really should say Jack is the fanatic. I read Lord of the Rings 37 years ago! I was sick with the mumps. Jack brought the books to me and said "Now you can finally read them. No excuse." He was doing all the house keeping and child care.
Nite, Margy and Paula♥♥
Think I'll turn in also.
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Right now, I'm reading a David Baldacci book. (Actually, I'm listening to it on my commute.)
Divine Justice. It's pretty good.
I am getting ready to head upstairs for the night. See you tomorrow.
Good night all.
Whoopie"!
Off to check mail, etc.
Blessings for all.
Just go ahead and ask for those links. We have all been there at some time. So frustrating!
Lynn, I like the historical/romance, too, but when I have had a book recommended I usually end up liking it. So, I end up reading a variety.
Tomorrow, tomorrow.....♪♫r♫
Dana, hang in there, you never know when something you say will help someone else.

Good Night Friends

Hugs for all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you.
Happy Birthday, Dear Suzanne,
Happy Birthday to you!!
Just woke up. Need to go get ready for bed. LOL Jack said I have been snoring for a while. It is what it is!
Night all! Sweet dreams! I'll be checking for a bear report before I hit the hay!
Den Update 9/11/10
♪♪♫♪♪ Happy Birthday Suzanne
♪♪♫♪♪ Have a very special day
Hi, Everyone,
Getting here very late, I know, but I figure it's better late than never!
ROFL!
Good morning, everyone.
Jo, very sorry about Nana. Please accept sympathy for all her family and friends.
Dana, Wanda has offered a really good topic for the paper. I think if you explain that talking about Ed is still too difficult she will understand.
Diann, enjoy the new computer!
Happy Birthday, Suzanne!
Very gentle rain this morning. Blades of grass cheering so loudly they work me up.
Off for coffee and newspaper.
"woke" me up.
Good morning,
I got a bit of rain in the night.
Good Morning! It has rained and is still sprinkling out! Hooray!
YO, I thought it was a commercial free morning, but I see now that we have ads at the bottom of the cam! Tis the way of the cam world.
Happy birthday Suzanne!
Enjoy your picnic, Lynn.
Jo,
Sorry to learn of Nana's passing. It sounds as if she lived a long and happy life.
Speaking of rain again, it looks like all of the rain now is along the coast.
I suppose we could get one of the hurricanes out there in the Atlantic. A very gentle storm could bring needed rain, but we do not want one that's not gentle.
What does cheering grass sound like, Judie?
Well, it looks like the ads only come on when you first start up the cam...that's even better :)

Morning, Paula. I need to check the nest.
Good Sunday Morning in Eagle Land to ALL.
Nice rain we had, of course would like more gentle rain.
Lynn-Hedgie I hope you have a wonderful picnic.
Wanda your comment Sat. 10:04pm
"I wonder..was PARSELTONGUE a
word before Harry Potter?"
I have had a very large college
Dictonary since 1968 and that
word is NOT in there.
So I too wonder when the word
came about?
It looks very peaceful at the nest.
Hi, Jim and Dana.
I think parseltongue came from the mind of Ms. Rowling.
Think you are right about that, Shirley. As I said...not in dictionary in '88!
Igor is spinning around out there in the Atlantic.....last I heard it was on a westward track toward Mexico. MTBR.
Good morning to all coming in---even Jim is up and about!!
It may show up in a future dictionary.
Good morning Judie, Lynn-Hedgie, Shirley, Jim, Paula and ALL that come in.

Good morning! Bright sun shiney day, headed up and very humid. Yuk! Where or where is a cool front?
Tomorrow we are down to two weeks til we leave. ☺
So glad some of you received rain. Grass says "yesyesyesyesyesyesyes" when it rains!
ROFLMBO When it rain you can hear the grass and I think it speaks parseltongue.

Catch you all later this afternoon...
"Yes, yes, yes, yes" translates to "sa, sa, sa, sa" in parseltongue. I think I heard my grass saying the same thing.
Have a wonderful visit, Jo. Bring back pictures.
But it was very pretty.
Mema Jo have a fun time a the baby shower.
URGENT MESSAGE......if anyone knows of someone in Berkeley Co. who could foster a horse or two or more.....53 horses were seized....even hay donations would be welcome. Let me know if anyone you know can help.
Time to start getting ready for church. Dessert auction today. Jack says he is still going for my cheese cake. It is the best bargain. lol
See you all later. Jo, enjoy the shower. Have a great day everyone!
Lynn-Hedgie I can let you know Monday if Rhonda can help or knows of anyone. The Officce will be open then.
She has horses her daughter rides the barrels.
Let us know if anyone bids against Jack and how much and what Jack had to buy it for lol
Time for me to finish getting ready. Gotta leave at noon. Everyone enjoy your day! BBL.
Okay, Dana. Thanks!
My hummers are enjoying their food.
Hear something at cam
What did you hear, Dana?
I think I hear something chirping.
. . . and a few clunks.
BBL.
Hello everyone.
Just stopped in to say "hi."
The nest was empty this morning but I didn't get up till 6:30.
All I heard was raindrops falling on the nest. Whether is parseltongue or not........
?
Going to check into the book
Glass Castle. The State Library will probably have it.
BBL
Are the turtle shells still there?
It doesn't look like it.
Sounds like a gazillion tiny little yippees that soar to a crescendo of YES! Also thought I heard several fist pumps as accompaniment.
Lynn, enjoy the picnic and Jo, enjoy the baby shower.
Okay, 503 ate my comment.
The Glass Castle
Check out the video near the bottom of the page.
I like to think that the video was made in Culpeper County. I do know that her husband belongs to a foxhunting group there. I have a friend who also belongs to that group.
And that foxhunting group knows about an eagle nest somewhere, but they keep the location a secret to protect the eagles.
Of course it's a special day---
