Mema JoFriday, June 03, 2016 11:43:00 AM Good Red Friday morning to all ♥
I am watching Mr & Mrs Red right now on my deck!
Megan has delivered 3 beautiful planters with many many flowers - I can't thank the Momsters enough for their thoughtfulness.
I've been watching our eaglets - especially the Stump Jumper! Not going to be much longer BUT they surely are procrastinating! I guess they need to get MT crops before fishing school begins.
Good morning! Hard to imagine the Louvre closing it's doors and flooding. Need to see pictures of the Seine. I love Paris and had an unbelievable week there. This small town Texas girl mastered the art of getting around Paris. Ha! I took it by storm and fell in love!
Presently 76 and sunshine but big chance of storms. We personally do not have a chance of flooding. We live the upward part of a slope. All water runs down to the street. At the end of our drive there is a culvert that runs under the street. Former obnoxious neighbor blocked the culvert. Therefore the water is slow to drain and the street floods as does our ditch. Our house is perfectly safe! Though parts of our back yard and side yard do stand in water. Very good expensive (and tearing up of landscape) French drains and land work would take care of our problem. That is not going to happen. Dry weather will return. Would be nice to have a balance of dry weather and the perfectly timed rainfall but that is not going to happen either. We will deal!
Feel sorry for our neighbors who have a graduation party planned for this weekend and their backyard is a mess.....worse than ours!
Boys are now finished with school. Laurel just has a half day today with no kids, just closing down her classroom! She and Jacob leave Sunday for Colorado and Joseph has a week of band camp.
Have a great day. Going to run errands and do some cooking today.
Hi all. Thanks Steve for the new thread and thanks Suzan for the call over.
Shirley, congratulations to Susan! Now that she's officially engaged to the guy, I'm sure she will have more influence regarding the gym equipment in the living room! Aren't they away together somewhere traveling?
I just said farewell to Lynnis and Freyjita - we'll see them again next weekend for Freyja's birthday party. I wish I had been able to get more photos of Freyja but every photo I took was blurry because the child is only still when she's sleeping or sitting in a high chair eating!
Hoda, "Zoomies" = the act of running full speed, usually in a circular motion around the backyard, open field or in your living room. Zoomies happen when a pup is excited or has pent up energy. So zoomies are a good thing, unless they knock something over in the house and it breaks. Janey is discouraged from doing zoomies indoors!
Gotta do some straightening and vacuuming. It's amazing how much mess one toddler can make in 2 days.
can't keep up more that three windows I noticed on the LT so I have to back out of the blog and fb to keep he both cams up and found the new thread But noticed runnng better without other windows up
SHIRLEY congrats to Susan Did they move the exercise machine LOL
under the cam
NOTICE: There will be scheduled maintenance at the cam site that will affect playback on Saturday 6/18/16 headin out to lunch then get Jordyn being I have already picked her up two days my mind doesn't think its Fri since that is normally my only day to get her
Thanks to STEVE for rethreading us, to HODA for importing JO's news and to SUZAN for the call over---let's hear it for teamwork!
Good news abounds, SHIRLEY's family is expanding, JO is surrounded by gorgeous flowers, SANDI is beaming with thoughts of Freyja, Janey the greythound is doing zoomies again, JUDY glows with pride over Jordyn's reading skills, LOLLY's family is off to a good start on Summer fun....
In the face of all that happiness the world dares to intrude with sad news of flooding and suffering around the world. Prayers, prayers and more prayers.
Special thoughts for TORI and ROBYN who are on that dreaded roller coaster ride once more.
Congratulations Shirley on Susan's engagement! Now you will get to know him better I bet.
Judy - Sure hope maintenance isn't when we get our first flight~!` :(
For those on FB - pics of Megan and me from this morning when she delivered more beautiful flowers from all of you! I have a deck full! Love it! Next will be her bouquets! All of you are very special to me!
Wow! Storming at the nest. Wind and rain! Hang on Eagles!!! One is eating and the other was spreading wings. Do NOT do that. Might fly away like a real Kite!
Shirley, Congratulations to Susan and Vincent. May they have many happy years together.
Read about all of that flooding in Europe as well as here in the USA. I guess this may be due to El NiƱo? That river flooding in the Houston area is very close to where I formerly lived., although former neighbors say they have no problem. Wasn't it two years ago we were fervently praying for rain?
Glad to hear that all grands have "graduated" from their various levels. I agree that there is sometimes too much fuss at the lower levels. Sad to say that when I worked at an elementary school we did do a big ceremony for the 5th graders, though no cap and gown. We were a school in a low income area and some thought that may be their only graduation. I hope not. Through the miracle of the Internet, I hope to watch a graduation ceremony this evening for a young lady whose birth I also attended. I was a stand in for my daughter when her best friend gave birth.
ROBYN REPORTS: Tori will be going home today as the team feels she is too stable to stay in hospital where it is loaded with germs and risk of infection. Watch us get home and called right back, I'll make sure the tank is full just in case.
The downpour of rain this afternoon was unbelievable - my flowers were watered and now that the sun is out they are reaching upward. Best of all right after the rain a HUMMER stopped by! I got so excited - I had to stare to be sure!
By the 18th when maintenance will take place on the cam - I would hope that our eaglets would have taken their 1st flights!
Closing down for the day....... Remember that Tori does have a GoFundMe link any amount donated will help - even if it is for gas money up and down the road THX
Good Morning Eagle buds Waiting on Angie she is dropping off Jordyn while she goes and does a zumba class over in my area Carl is on call this week so it stinks that he can't plan on anything
The downpour hit here while I was on the way to the bank, yesterday, Jo. I thought I might have to get off the road, but I was able to drive out of the worst of it.
Hi, Everyone, Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Ken and I are going walking at the mall this morning, after feeding Emma her breakfast. She had a case of the 'zoomies' right after getting home from PetSmart, but then settled down and took a long nap. The one I think of when 'zoomies' come to mind is our new grandpuppy, Teavana. She's Jen & Marq's 7-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer. Boy, does she have energy to burn! Jen has to take her for a 2-mile run (and a swim) at their local lake in the morning on weekends (and during our vacation, when she was on vacation too), then to the dog park later in the afternoon for a long run through the woods and another swim in the lake there. Just before dinner, they may go for a 30-minute walk through the neighborhood, just to take the edge off all that energy for the evening. I have to say, I've NEVER seen a dog with SO much energy to burn! She's in excellent shape with all that exercise, with not an extra ounce of fat anywhere, and can go for hours! When she does slow down, she sleeps like she's comatose. I always thought Emma was pretty energetic, but Teavana makes Emma look like she's in a coma!
Ken and I went along for all those dog walks, and Jen makes very healthful meals, so we both lost some weight during our visit. We're going to keep up the healthy eating and more exercise, and hope the weight loss continues now that we're back home.
We truly enjoyed seeing the kids again, and loved the area where they live. They are in Providence Village, near Aubrey, and it's got lots of farms and ranches there, with lots of green pastures and big trees. With all the rain, it's been really beautiful. The kids' front porch has 2 Adirondack chairs, and we made good use of them while sipping our coffee in the morning. Got to see some cardinals on the bird feeder! Love that porch!
Well, need to go feed Emma some breakfast, and get ready to go walking. Will be back later with more about Texas. HAGD, everyone! I ♥ us!
Goodorming my eagle friends. Didn't have time to post earlier because Bella woke up with an abscessed anal gland and I had to get her to the vet at 8:30. The abscess ruptured at the vet's office. Very messy. She's home now on 14 days of antibiotics and wearing a cone around her neck so she won't lick the wound.
Laundry and some house cleaning are on my Saturday agenda. Have a greyt day all.
SANDI, that was a rude awakening for Bella and for you! Hope she heals quickly!
SHIRLEY, enjoy your Saturday bowling---then perhaps lunch with your friends??
ANDY, good luck to you and Ken as you change your eating habits a bit and strive to maintain your weight loss. Tough thing and it gets tougher and tougher the older we get!
May Mohammed Ali of "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" fame RIP. He was a very entertaining individual and while boxing isn't my passion I give him credit for his astounding record in the ring!
Hopefully Seth will join me for dinner, Prairie Home Companion and on into Sunday breakfast and lunch. We're all going out to his college Sunday afternoon for the start of the summer theater offerings. It's Neil Simon's "Brighton Beach Memoirs", so should great fun. A good thing to do on a rainy day, too!
Sun is shining!!!! Chance of storms today and then sunshine for a week! Yea! We usually, after a rain, can at least mow in our immediate front yard, but no, not now. Even though it is the top of a slope it is boggy! Maybe Monday we can mow parts of our yard, maybe! We shall see!
Yes, yesterday I feared an early fledging of our Eagles. Wow the wind!
Out to check roses and then walk. No yard work. Oh, we may load a wheelbarrow with dirt. We have a lot of holes and trenches to fill in as mole tunnels have washed away. One tree especially has had a lot of dirt washed away all around it! Hope the moles have drowned! We think the moles are what attracts the fox to our yard. He digs holes in the mole tunnels. Hope he is catching them!
Sandi, yesterday afternoon Laurel and Joey were going to a teacher "Happiest Hour". A cantina in Denton is owed by a group of teachers. Teachers register when they go and every 30 minutes they draw for prizes. More fun! A great way for teachers to celebrate the end of the school year!
Worked in the yard for a while but up to 85 and very humid. Yuk! Filled in washed out mole tunnels.
Our Eagles were entertaining while walking. One chowed down while the other balanced on the stump. Would be nice to see when they decide to leave the nest!
Lolly, we have found lots of mole holes in our yard as well. Not too long ago, I moved a tarp that had blown off the firewood and was lying in the yard, and there was a little mole under the tarp. He looked at me as if asking why had I moved his house. Haven't noticed any foxes, though.
We do have a flash flood warning right now, so maybe the moles here will get washed out, too.
Bowling was fun. I actually scored 145 in one game. For me, that is very good. It was just Julie and me today. We met Val for lunch. She is hoping to bowl on Tuesday, as her feet are getting better thanks to PT.
Kathryn is recovering from a case of phlebitis, thanks to a blood draw at the ER on Sunday. She went there because her leg was hurting and the doctor thought it could be blood clots. Fortunately, there weren't any clots in her leg, but now she has to deal with the phlebitis.
Shirley Phlibitis is serious. Pay attention to what is happening. It is painful and it can kill. Sorry I do not mean to be dramatic. I lost my cousin to Phlibitis at an early age. His broke up in his leg and blocked his artery. It continues to be one of the most traumatic things I have ever witnessed.
Heading to bed! House has been vibrating this evening and guess we will go to bed listening to the thumps! Graduation party going on next door. We were invited but declined. Anyway, loud music has been going on since 5! We do not mind and hope they are having a great time! Neighbor on the other side of us will complain. Good grief! They have a reson to party and it's not like they do it all the time. Great family, great parents, great girls!!
Goodorming my eagle friends. It's a rainy morning here. It looks cloudy but dry in Shepherdstown.
I agree with whoever said (Jo maybe?) that our eaglets will have flown the coop by 6/18. My thoughts, and of course we'll never know, is that both kids are the same sex. I see very little difference in their sizes. Maybe that has contributed to them getting along as well as they do?
Lolly, I love the label "Happiest Hour" for the end of the year drinks. There is a faculty get together this Wednesday after school at the home of a husband and wife who are both on our faculty. They're not my favorite people, plus the principal and vice principal will be there and I'm not a fan of either one of them, plus I'm leaving at 1:15pm on the last day, so I'm not attending the party.
Jo, prayers continue for you - I'd love to see a photo of your deck with all your flowers from Megan!
Hoda, it's good to see you still popping on the blog. I have only used my yoga app a few times but it's on my to-do list for once the school year ends. I'm hoping Tuesday and Thursday mornings will be my yoga mornings, since Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings are for tennis.
I met with the president and foster coordinator for Greyhound Pets of America - Delaware yesterday. She was delivering a dog to the area and stopped by to drop off some books about therapy dog training, something I'd like to pursue with Janey. We also discussed ways that I can get more involved with GPA-DE - fostering dogs as they come off the track, organizing meet & greets at different locations, doing home visits with prospective adopting families.
The ruptured abscess on Bella's butt is healing but I have to keep a cone on her head; otherwise she just keeps licking the wound.
Kevin will be loading up his van with leather goods and heading to Nashville today to attend the Country Music Awards festivities. He is driving alone, which makes me nervous.
I need to grocery shop so maybe I'll get that done early this morning. Have a greyt day all.

Good morning Lolly, Sandi and Judy. Happy Birthday Thelma. Sandi - sounds like you will be busy after your school career. Enjoy your work with the greyhounds. Getting dark here...supposed to be bad storms anytime in our area. Looks like first flight for Shamrock and Clover will be soon. Been busy with a six day6 week. Supposed to play golf with friends tomorrow. Haven't been fishing at all and don't have licenses anyway. Work still needs to be done outside. When I have time - weather is bad and when I am busy - weather seems to be good. Have a great rest of weekend. Take care all.
Good morning! One of those rare nights that I fall asleep and do not wake til morning! I sleep well, but wake often and fall back to sleep quickly.
SUNSHINE and sunshine forecast for the week ahead!!! Whale for drying up!! Of course it is going to be warm and humid but we need to get rid of standing water! Mosquitos are abundant! Repellant is a must!
Good morning this beautiful hot sunny Sunday. Enjoy it all. Cycling and kayaking today. House sitting too. There is a lot going on and I am making time for stillness too. Second picture of Megan's plants on Jo's deck. Loved the picture of Jo and Megan...two awesome ladies. Police in BC is issuing tickets for distracted driving. Fines have gone up. On the third fine they get your car. What is distracted driving? Yes cell phones of course. AND drinking coffee or any thing non alcoholic! Dog in lap. Checking GPS on dash boards... They are making mucho dollars! The start fine is over 500$! I am OK with that except the drinking water or tea part. More dangerous to drive dehydrated I think! I have long thought dogs should be seat belted.
Yes, I know phlebitis is serious, Hoda. I had phlebitis in my arm after Rus was born. It was caused by an IV--they gave me medication that caused me to yank the IV out of my arm, and the result was phlebitis. I still have a lump there after 45 years. Fortunately, it was treated in time to prevent any serious issues. Kathryn is taking antibiotics and is to see the doctor again if there's no improvement. Thank you for the alert. Kathryn is taking it seriously. Very sorry about your cousin.
Kathryn will be more assertive from now on when someone draws her blood.
Good evening to all - don't have a panoramic view for camera - there are 9 full planters filled! I'll need to check out a picture with my cameraman. lol
Quite the rain storm we just had - glad to see the nest is still in tact. Really a downpour!
Jenny was my visitor today - nothing new in my neck of the woods.
Sandi I know the feeling with driving alone - Aaron just made it back to VA beach and now his family is home safely - one granddaughter drove to NC and made it safely. But the worry is still there!
Today Elizabeth (GGD - Izzy) turns 8 years old. She called since I had tried to get her earlier and we talked.
Time marches on ♥ Have a relaxing evening - xoxoxoxoxo
Goodorming my eagle friends. It's my last full day of school.
Jo, loved the black & white photo of Elliot and the birthday photo of Izzy on FB. What a beautiful family you have! Will you and Ed be heading to the beach soon? If so, I would love to get together!
We got several big downpours last evening but nothing severe. Just a little thunder.

So sad about the flooding in Paris. Thank goodness enough warning in order to move art in the Louvre.
So glad the nest is holding together in this wind and rain. We hjave been very lucky.

Hi,
Getting ready to go bowl this morning,
The downpour hit here while I was on the way to the bank, yesterday, Jo. I thought I might have to get off the road, but I was able to drive out of the worst of it.

Good morning! Oh, the adventures with our pets! Took Skippi to the vet this week, too. The infection was back in her mouth. Second time for this. Got tickled. After her shots the vet said he had to get a picture of her for his wife. One time when Skippi was there his then fiancƩ fell in love with Skippi. So he got his phone but by that time Skippi had no intention of posing. She just wanted to leave! They do love her there and continue to remark how pretty she is. Vet's assistant is the mother of one of my former students. We are treated well!

Saw a picture n FB of one of our eaglets sitting on the stump. They will surely be flying free very soon.
Nite all! SED!
Have a greyt day all.
good morning eagle buds

Off to church soon. Have a great day!
Yes, Jo! A pictureofyour whole deck is a must!š
AND
drinking coffee or any thing non alcoholic!
Dog in lap.
Checking GPS on dash boards...
They are making mucho dollars!
The start fine is over 500$!
I am OK with that except the drinking water or tea part. More dangerous to drive dehydrated I think!
I have long thought dogs should be seat belted.
Hi,
Yes, I know phlebitis is serious, Hoda.
Breezy at the nest. One eaglet on the stump. Other one is just below and eating something.
Good evening to all - don't have a panoramic view for camera - there are 9 full planters filled! I'll need to check out a picture with my cameraman. lol
Quite the rain storm we just had - glad to see the nest is still in tact. Really a
downpour!
Have agreyt day all.
New Thread ya'll! New Thread!!!!!!!!! come on over!
