Those of you who were part of STEVE'S Edible Bouquet are so very THOUGHTFUL. I haven't been keeping up with the blog, but I have a feeling this idea was Judy E. What a sweet thing to do!
It is a beautiful day here in Nestville/Shepherstown, but a bit too warm to suit me...81°. Hoping to get GG outside again today...she enjoyed it so much yesterday. There is a pair of hawks tending to a nest at the bottom part of her yard and We enjoyed watching them coming and going...I think they are feeding hawklets:)
WANDA SHAR I had it on the blog last week I got a coupon from them for being a valued repeat customer I was going to just trash the coupon and then it occurred to me that would be a great idea what I did and I sent to from all the momster and dadsters from the blog I also sent out a email yesterday to all I have on my addy book Just wanted him to know how we appreciate our BLOG MASTER and camera keepers and fixers
MAGPIE: they have not designated a "name" to her POSSIBLE learning disability. they did not "say" that she has one, but the school psychologist said that the data was indicative of a person with a learning disability.....you know how they have to watch their wording....
i had her tested 3 years ago for ADD / ADHA with a private psychologist and that was negative....
basically, the problem is you can teach her a thing, and this not only applies to school stuff, but stuff at home...and she will have this thing...and a week or so later, its as if you never showed her how to do it. and it is very frustrating to have to teach/reteach. for example, she can do multiplication/division, but to use it in steps in problem solving...not there. and the charts are showing her getting further and further behind...
i was so flipping relieved when they said she "might have a problem" that i broke into tears ..... it has been such a long road to get to this point..... thank you all for your support in this. i have kept it a journey quiet and close to my heart for a very very long time now....i have a teacher pal, three actually, who also feel she has a problem of some variety, but they are not in any position to help .... thankfully the school she is at is a charter school. that means that they can do things ordinary public schools cannot do to try to help kids, they can go beyond normal paradigms and try things to figure out problems and this has been a saving grace for olivia i feel.....and i guess for me as well. some one FINALLY listened to me and progress monitored, tested, worked with her and evaluated her and is interested in helping her.
i told them and i've said all along, she is the quiet, well behaved, introverted child who is not a behavior issue and will not speak up and therefore, will get left behind if i do not advocate for her.....and that's what i've been doing.
fifth grade wasn't too bad, but when i saw a 54 at the beginning of the school year in math, i knew i had to take action NOW and i did....so again, am hoping praying that they find the problem so we can start to address it....
its been a nice day here. tom and i did breakfast at the cracker barrel. i cleaned a little and went to my 1 p.m. massage appt.....they are taken care of for another 2 weeks.
now fixing to go pick up miss olivia and take her shopping. she wants a dress. ????? who can figure 11 year olds......but okay.
its was, 77 and cloudy. they say severe weather moving in over night tomorrow. bleeech.
Good afternoon my eagle friends! 74 degrees here in Bethany - just about perfect!
Found out today that our school board has decided NOT to have the kids make up the day they missed for snow, but all teachers must make up the day and must also make up one of the days we missed for the hurricane. This is the 3rd year in a row that they have done this. I would understand completely if they said the kids AND the teachers have to make up a day of lost instruction and added it on at the end of the year. But it is SO insulting to me that they excuse the lost instruction for the kids but insist that we come to school 4 days (was supposed to be 2 but now 4) after the kids are finished for the year. It's like we're being treated as hourly employees - the board shows absolutely NO consideration for the hours that teachers spend above and beyond the school days, in the evenings and on weekend. Instead, they insist that we must put in our allotted number of hours in the building!
Fortunately for me, I have not used any of my 3 personal business days - I hold onto them precisely for this reason. So the kids will finish on June 13th, I'll go to school on the 14th, and then I will use my personal days on the 17th, 18th, and 19th!
The first year I did it (3 years ago), my former principal said I couldn't take my personal days on the inservice days for teachers. I told him that, if I couldn't take them then, I would take them the last 3 days that the kids were in school and wished him luck finding a substitute willing to come in for those 3 days. =) He changed his mind pretty quickly! Last year, when I told my current principal what I wanted to do, his reply was, "They're your personal days; you can take them whenever you want!"
Shirley, how are you feeling today??
Judy, the note from Steve must make you feel great!! What a nice thing you did!!
Have only read the current comments and it seems JudyE has done a very good deed on behalf of the momsters and dadsters. Thank you, JudyE.
Need to comment on Janet's post. I have had similar problems all my life and the diagnosis, in short, is that my brain simply does not process/retain certain types of information. My issues relate to numbers and directional information. A good tester will be able to identify areas that need additional evaluation. Be sure to ask that a full battery of tests be given for verbal, math, geometric forms, ability to reproduce geometrical lines or specific sequences of letters. It may be necessary to have some tests repeated after a few days/week to see which information is retained and which is not.
I'll be back a little later. Long day and need to get into the scullery.
Oh, went to Outdoor Channel to look in on the nest and the link has disappeared. Not happy about that.
I mowed, edged, and used the leaf blower today, Wonderful day to be outside and storms are coming tonight. Wanted to get the yard cared for before the "severe weather."
Judy, that was a generous, thoughtful gift to NCTC.
Jack is headed to Dallas tonight for the hockey game with Michael.
That is odd there was food in the nest and Belle didn't see it one of the chicks was on it and some how it must of been unearthed Odd I was recording too I went and rewound it trying to figure out when Shep brought food in It had to been there and the chick was on it ODD anyone else see that????
The video that I recorded is a little over 7 min when I stopped it wanting to see if I missed a food drop But I have edited it just 2:30min long just right to where the chick was laying and gets up and Belle finds a fish under the chicks
Thanks for the Heron link, Jo...I might have to wait a little while to check that out
Janet.... thanks for all the information, sounds like things will come along....sending positive thoughts along for all that. I am going to read up on my grandnephew's situation, it might be similar. He is 12. Hope Livvie got a beauteous dress! and glad that you and Tom had a little breakfast date ☺♥☺♥
I got it recorded and uploading to youtube right now when it is done i will put link on blog odd I wonder when it was brought in I have been watching since I got home and recording and didn't see it Back to the news and LM waiting for the upload to upload
JudyE there was big yellow fish near the bottom of the nest most of the day...think it was just too hot for eating today. Belle did a really spectacular job shielding those babies, spreading her wings and making shade, and she often looked like a Royal Statue
Shep just arrived with a small something...Belle was right on his tail and arrived 2 seconds later. She grabbed it and has it at the 6 spot...kids on the right next to her. Shep is at 10.
Yes LORI bundled up here with socks and jackets again. The wind off of the glaciers is cold. Night temperatures in the thirties and daytime temperatures in the low fifties if they make it that high! We are in for a gray wet weekend.
Glad all sounds good.
JANET I am glad that the tests are being done.
Glad STEVE and the crew got the basket JUDYE. Thank you.
LOLLY posted several very pretty pictures of flowers on her FB page. Thanks LOLLY. How is ANNIE. Who is playing Hockey in Dallas? A Canadian Team perhaps?
Well The Teacher Retirement board sent me my letter asking that I confirm that I am alive!!! It always makes me laugh and they have a need to get such confirmation once a year...so I confirmed indeed I am alive and did not joke about giving me time to check out first!!! I do not think they have much of a humour. I wonder if the two other boards will send the same request for confirmation that I am still alive!!! I do not know what they do...LOL
JUDIE: thanks for the input. i am hopeful that what ever they call it, the main thing is to figure out how to help her to be successful in school and in life.
and yes Olivia ended up with a cute dress to go with her western boots and a pair of leggings.... can't go wrong with marshall's pricing!
JUDYE: like HODA, i think it has something to do with a vein running directly to the heart.....but i don't know.
Looks like Belle basking in the moonlight with two large moving objects nearby. Bet she wishes they would just go to sleep.
Thank you Hoda. I could get the Outdoor Channel but would have to scroll down and click on the Eagle Cam selection. Tonight, the Eagle Cam selection was missing from the list of options. So, thank you much. I'm so pleased you can report to the pension office that you are, indeed, still with us.
Didn't see if Shirley checked in so hope she's feeling okay tonight.
Hope Miss GG is still happy and comfortable with her new teeth.
Janet, the best outcome of having myself tested is that I was finally able to stop blaming myself for being "stupid." It truly was a great gift and helps so much with self-esteem. If Olivia has a learning disability she will be just fine as long as she understands its okay and she's still a super wonderful person.
Need to pretend I'm Jo and put my feets up. Really tired tonight.
Sandperson will be on the way at 11pm. Restful sleep for all.
oh Janet, God bless you. I'm so glad Livvy has you and great parents to advocate for her. If only I had had the same, how different my life might have been. I know I have a problem, always have. I think some sort of dyslexia. Not sure. Doesn't really matter now. My mother was otherwise occupied, and, according to her, I just wasn't applying myself.
Hope Dana's Boomer is doing OK.
Andy, hang in there with your neck/shoulder/aches/pains.
Glad GG got some outdoor time!
Lori, how does your garden grow? Glad the weather has been so nice for your trip home!
Glad Lolly and Jubby are home after a very nice visit!
Gadzooks, it's late again! It's so warm, I may end up downstairs! Been doing laundry down there and one knee didn't want to climb the stairs, so I may stay down there as soon as dryer's done! Have been working on Sat. pictures and got more goodies today!!!!May not get them on blog until TH, but hope to be sooner ☺
Janet, I read about learning problems of your daughter and am so glad she's at a school that can help. Kudos to you! Haven't read everything yet, so forgive if I don't talk about something important. Good Health Prayers for ALL and Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Saying good night a little early (for me)...work to do at church tomorrow. The men are finally putting up shelves and rods to hang clothes on in the Clothes Closet. I and some SK helpers will have to move everything out of the room so the men can move around and do their work. I'm so excited...they told me about 6 months ago that they were going to do this...I lost faith in them. Oh Ye of little faith! You'd think I'd learn by now:)
Yes, Paula, that is the neighbor that died. Visitation tomorrow night and funeral Thursday. I know there is family coming, but other than that there will only be a few neighbors. They moved here and then she got sick. He has the house for sale and will move back to Florida.
Lynne, do not know what you think your problem is, but Hon, you have a lot on the ball!!! Your creativity and intelligence is very evident!!!
Tonight I vegged in front of the TV. Watched program after program and gave myself a manicure.
Jack had a great evening...the STARS won so that made it even better and lots of fun. Michael went back to work after the game. Not sure who they played and can not ask Jack....he is asleep in his chair. :)
Good Wednesday morning my eagle friends! 64 degrees here right now - could hit 90 today! Boy, we went from winter to summer in a week - pretty much skipped spring!!
good morning to all. warm day ahead, 82,with likely severe weather overnight. booooo! not a lot going on today. i only have one massage, and that's @ 8. then i will do some stuff i need to do, phone calls, maybe run the weed eater? not sure. a day with out a plan....who knows what i will end up doing? lol
lihgt, love, hugs and smiles to all. have a super day!
Shep in the nest with a big fish...he's was panting upon arrival. Belle in right after him, mantling the meal. Chicks are plotzed at 5 and 10....and there goes Shep, the provider :)
Looks like he had a few bites before he arrived with it, as well he should. Shamrock has turned and is looking at the food. Here he comes...Hedgie is chowing down at the 5 spot.

there is a vein only in that finger that runs to the heart BINGO you gotta it Your win WAX
I do not know what they do...LOL
a man had his wedding ring finger cut off and that was on the show I though interesting commercial is one
good evening to all:
JUDIE: thanks for the input. i am hopeful that what ever they call it, the main thing is to figure out how to help her to be successful in school and in life.

JUDYE: like HODA, i think it has something to do with a vein running directly to the heart.....but i don't know.

Sending love and prayers to all ~♥~
Yes, Paula, that is the neighbor that died.
Heading to the hot shower and bed.
Night all! SED!!!
Good Wednesday morning my eagle friends! 64 degrees here right now - could hit 90 today! Boy, we went from winter to summer in a week - pretty much skipped spring!!

Good morning my eagle peeps.
Shamrock scratching his head...too cute. Shamrock is ready for some food too. Great view of Belle tearing into the fish.
Good morning.
Looks to be snack time at the nest. Some wingersizing also.
Off for some me time. Going to get my "do" did.
Have a wonderful morning.
