HELLO FOLKS... As you can see, it is very windy and 40° at the nest.
We did manage to have a partial Family Fun Night (Karla, Dustin and Jayden) Jayden now calls me Grandma Darling, better than Grandma Tiger:) Dustin has a new girlfriend and he is so happy that she is tall (up to his chin on his 6ft 6 in frame) He says tall girls are hard to come by:)
Have to be at church very early tomorrow...preparing Valentine dinner and a reception for Pastor Eddie's 20 years with our church!
I think things are alright with my CPP and OAS applications MARGY. You will hear me hollering when I get the letters asking me how much income tax they should deduct from the two cheques they will send me...I am sure you all will hear me even though it is across the continent and slightly south!!! LOL!!!
LORETTA stay aware of the eye and the flashes. The floaters are annoying but I do not think they are a sign for a serious problem...Let us know what the optometrist says Monday
beginning to feel quite sick to my stomach. GRRRR. Going to sign off now, and get to bed. Good night and prayers for all! Will check in tomorrow, hopefully with good news!
Love you LYNNE. Stay calm with the stomach. I hope you are not getting the flu. We will all be anxiously awaiting which one you chose. You are a beautiful and precious and courageous person with an awesome sense of humour and we all love you buckets and more!!!
Lynne, do hope you are not getting sick! You have so much resting on your shoulders! We can not make your decisions but please know we are here supporting you with much love and prayers.
Heading to bed. Belle is tucked and I soon will be.
Hi, Everyone! Getting here kind of late, but we had another storm earlier this evening, and didn't want to possibly light up my life if lightning struck.
Lynne2, that's fantastic news about the 3 possible new homes for you, Steve, and the critters! I will be praying that you are able to get the one you like best! Also praying for your poor tummy to settle down, pronto! That reminds me, I heard on TV somewhere that the newest, nasty stomach virus is immune to hand sanitizers, so it's best to wash your hands often with regular hand soap and warm water. You must wash for at least 20 seconds. (They say to sing "Happy Birthday" to yourself, twice.)
Happy to report that I don't hear our wind chimes outside at this time. They were blowing crazily in the wind earlier. It had been raining sideways again. Lolly, batten down the hatches in a couple of days! It will probably be in your area by then! While Ken was at work today he heard that 8 cities here had power outages due to the storm. Glad all is OK at this roost!
Well, think it's time to hit the hay. Prayers are ongoing for Jo, Lorraine, Chris Barton's mother, Thelma's BIL, Lynne2 & Steve, Lynne1, et al. Prayers, too, for the Sycamore Palace and our eagle family.
Sleep well, everyone, with SED. The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled. God bless, and goodnight. I love all of you! ♥♥Thinking of Lynn♥♥ ♥♥Carolyn & Christy♥♥ I ♥ us!
It looks like the wind is really blowing at the nest. We had some of that yesterday. I hope all of you all and/or your families are safe from Nemo. I wish someone would tell me how they name these things. Really, the beloved Nemo. : ) The more I hear about it the scared-er it makes me for those people in it's wake. I saw on the news yesterday that there were 3,000 flights cancelled in anticipation of the storm.
Good morning Thelma, dogs got me up~ Annemarie spent the night in Shepherdstown with a friend, so we had 2 dogs in our bed. They do keep us warm, but take up a lot of space!
New places to live sound good Lynne. Close enough to walk to work is wonderful. Wish I was that close. I have thought about riding my bike in, but always have so much to carry!
Sorry for the niece and nephew (do I have that correct)that are stuck because of the storm. Yuck. No fun to be stuck.
HaHa Wanda. Yes, tall girls are tough and 6'6" is a tall guy. My husband always said when he was growing up that he wanted to marry a brown hair, brown eyed, 5'8" girl. Well...he fell a little short! Ba dum bum! :)
It is reported that people have driven to the Boston, Mass area to see this possible historic blizzard. Are they crazy or what? Wow, that is amazing to me. I suppose should be surprise to me/us.
People are nuts! In Boston though last night if you were out on the road you could be fined $500 or a year in prison. They were serious about being off the roads!
I've had the cam up for over 50 minutes and nary an egg roll...the tree is rockin' and rollin' though
We just got some heavy wet snow for a couple of hours yesterday, then it turned colder and all of the slush is frozen--but to warm up tomorrow. I will try to call a cousin in Boston later today.
Lorraine, I hope your eye issues are minor--those light flashes don't sound good.
William the cat has been a bit put out with me, as I closed the pet door. I wouldn't have done that if there wasn't a constant parade of little critters he brings in to me--usually live. He brought in an almost dead mouse the other morning which I swept up and put outside the back door in a pile of snow. Darn if he didn't go out and retreive it for me a few minutes later. I can't tell if he misses Daisy like I do. Thanks for the hugs about her passing.
Good morning Lori, Dana, Thelma, and Lynne1! Have been reading last night's and this morning's comments. Heard Belle call out a minute ago - maybe for a break - and then she settled back on the egg. Better not leave it uncovered in this wind for fear it would blow right out of the nest!!
Lynne2, Manchester looks like a lovely place to live! Being within walking distance of work is a real plus since you and Steve may be down to one car for a while. I say second floor isn't a big deal if you like the price and the amount of space and the yard better. It will only be a temporary problem for Steve until he can put weight on his foot. In the meantime, there's always going up and down the stairs on his butt - that's what I had to do when I broke my foot playing volleyball a number of years back. Fingers crossed that one of the 3 places is just right for the Sopers!!
Prayers for Lori for a safe trip home and for her dad to continue healing.
Prayers also for Jo, hope she doesn't have to spend much more time in the hospital - there's no place like home!
Tennis for me both mornings this weekend. Plus I also have an IEP to write, the upstairs to clean, and 3 loads of laundry to do.
Will be at the computer this evening working on the IEP and watching Miss Belle to see if we get a 2nd egg. I seem to recall that she tends to lay them during the evening/night.
Well darn, I turned off the live cam because the wind was driving me bonkers and now can't get it back--will have to go to chrome or firefox . Notice Shep in the nest now via the still cam.
Morning Sandi.
I think I'm going back to bed for a while..hope everyone has a great day.
You probably are up to speed Donnie but just in case not; the first egg popped out around 6:10 pm Wednesday.. first good picture of it by JudyE was around 6:19 pm
We went looking for the pair at our local nest last Sunday - didn't see any action at the nest. We got between 3 and 4 inches of rain yesterday so we would be in mud/water up to our ankles if we tried to take a hike this weekend!
Hoping to see/read from Judie that all the trees held up and stayed standing ! I have a sister down her way with HUGE big tall trees all around her yard also
and now I just read backwards and saw your post Thanks... bet it had to be a quick one, the switch Good Old Shep...so he's been egg-tending for over an hour
Thanks Mag, I received an email from NCTC about the egg and have been watching off and on. Wind was bad last night. Wind chimes kept me awake. Nice to see familliar friends and all the new ones...
Good morning! Saw your comment about the blizzard in Boston, Dana. I was watching CNN last night. It was snowing, but I did not think it looked so awful. A couple with a baby walked up and was interviewed about bringing the baby out into a blizzard. Really did not seem so awful.
In comparison, the 1978 blizzard in Ohio would have been no place for a baby. We did not allow our children outdoors in the height of that storm. The wind was blowing hard enough to knock them down and the temperature was near zero.
Donnie: I once had a set of wind chimes made out of aluminum Tent Stake Poles.... they woke up the entire neighborhood but I loved it! they pretty much got torn up with come of the bigger winds moving through... I have a number of smaller ones now Hope being awake most of the night doesn't crash your daytime plans! ☺
My favorite one now is the one that Lynn♥ gave me for my birthday two years ago... is a Northern Flicker hovering over a nest of four eggs, and the chimes hang down from that one
I have to move along to the rest of the morning homework now...
Thinking of all.... with Positive Thoughts and L♥ve
Good morning....although I have spent much of it in the bathroom. UGH! I FEEL much better overall, but how in the world can you feel sick and hungry at the same time! Thankfully, no vomiting. No fever. No aches or pains. I'm generally functional. I was worried about the Nororvirus possibility but I think this is just "DI" (dietary indiscretion).
Tall men and the women they love....my fellow coworker Sharon who is also my birding mentor and the other half of our singing duet (we are only working at the vet til our music career takes off)....well, she is about 5 feet tall. Her hubby is 6'8"!!!!!!
Oh Dana, I was ROFLMBO at your "fell a little short" joke!!

You did not comment on your new name, Wandy!!!!!
Lynne, I could not get the video to play. Will go try again!
Goodnight WANDA. I am glad you had a partial family gathering GRANDMA DARLING! Sweet!!!
Never could get the video to play. Think I am going to go shower, get ready for bed, and pout!!!
Lynne, I have decided this is the place for you! Grab it!

I was able to see Lynne's whole video when I went to full screen. Looks like a very nice town, and the house looks very nice as well.
I do hope you are not going to be sick, Lynne.
Know you will keep us posted on the house situation.
Ready to turn out the lights here.
See you tomorrow.
I am bathed and ready for bed.
Lynne, do hope you are not getting sick! You have so much resting on your shoulders! We can not make your decisions but please know we are here supporting you with much love and prayers.

Night all! Love and ((hugs))!!

The wind seems to have died down a bit...was quiet for a while and only now picked up slightly.
Thank you for the tip SHIRLEY...I will go try that.On Manchester Video.
I could not see how to enlarge the video.
Goodnight

Windy at the nest. Belle is up for an egg roll and back down on the egg. Tucked again.
Good morning my eagle peeps.
Couldn't sleep so I figured I'd go ahead and get up.
It looks like the wind is really blowing at the nest. We had some of that yesterday.

Oh my goodness-there was a little baby that was blown out of her mother's hands and died. PRAYERS
Connecticut has 34 inches and 20-50 MPH wind gusts.
All kinds of people have been rescued on the Long Island express. They have been taken to fire houses.
DANAMO-it wasn't Buddy that got me up this morning. Usually he is the culprit. : )
Now they are reporting 5,000 flights have been cancelled.
My dogs are always the culprits! LOL! It's okay though I like to get up early and go to bed early. I am very productive at this hour.
Looks like Belle is saying 'damn this wind is messing up my do"
Ooops tucked back in...

Don't have much time this morning, getting ready to get on the road! I'm headed home!
LORETTA, keep close watch on your eyes....I'm worried for you.
LYNNE2, Hope you are feeling better this morning and today brings good news about a new house!
Good Morning, LYNNE1!
Morning Lori and drive safely.
Oops, I meant Loretta....
And Lynne2, I hope the tummy is all right and you find a place to live today!
Drive carefully Lori. Safe travels
Thanks you guys...putting the computer away now and should be on the road in 30 min. or so. I LOVE US!
So much for my thought - Belle just took off. Egg is alone! No, Shep has arrived and is rolling it and settling down on it.
Lynne2, Manchester looks like a lovely place to live! Being within walking distance of work is a real plus since you and Steve may be down to one car for a while. Good Morning Eagle Pals...
Shep is sitting, but I don't know when that switch took place
Hello Donnie!
Saw you yesterday, see you today,

:(
You probably are up to speed Donnie
but just in case not;
the first egg popped out around 6:10 pm Wednesday..
first good picture of it by JudyE was around 6:19 pm
Morning Margy. Shep has been egg sitting for a little over an hour. Is today a work day for you?
I say "first egg" because we are hoping for more pretty soon
still only have the one
No Sandi
I have gloriously been
off all week....
don't miss work, but do miss that I have not seen Jewels there
on dayshift
I was just wondering if anyone
saw the parent-switch....
Wonder how the eagles are in YOUR area, Sandi...any chance of you and
Dennis going to have a look-see
?
Cold as it is, I bet the fishing at the Potomac is good today,
maybe Belle is off getting
her own breakfast
OH Sandi LOL
I just re-read your tasks for the week-end....please carve out some time for some FUN things (including tennis of course)
Saw a bunch of Eagle Pals this morning ahead of me:
Hello!
Best Wishes on Everyone's Day,
Prayers for Wellness All Around
and Safe Traveling Wishes for anyone out in this
Margy, I saw the switch at 6:41am.

Hi Sandi!
Margy, I think the wind here last night might have blown wind chimes away.
We had some on our front porch for awhile. You could hear them down the street.
