I think that our birds are cam hams! They knew the live cam wasn't running, so they stayed away! Visits almost ALWAYS last more than 30 seconds, so some of us would have seen them if they had been in! They were just waiting for LIVE to show off!!

Bowling alley inside, reminds me of Denise's ex-husband...he just re-married and their house has a swimming pool inside, that would be wonderful too.

The other day when I mentioned about the sound button on the live cam feed. It had the chat room on it but the sound button was gone. Was glad went I kept refreshing that the chat went away and the sound button came on with the live feed. Our nest sure does look nice for a pair of eagles.

Wanda, speaking of chili dogs....Ann was telling me about the annual Moler Ave. community reunion.....this year someone made the Hagmart recipe!!!!! Ann wasn't a good judge because she said she hardly ever ate it back it in the day to make a comparison!
This was in our paper this morning. I am flabbergasted.
The county commission made a surprise visit to the shelter last week following a complaint to see the overcrowding and they told the shelter to basically wipe the slate clean and start over,” Young said. “They told them to eliminate any animal that had been in the shelter for longer than 10 days, regardless of the animal’s situation. We managed to save 165, but I was told the amount of animals they had to euthanize over the weekend was just astronomical.”
They didn't give them time to contact rescues to try to save any of them. Two men made the decision without consulting anyone else. I just cannot get over it.

What an appalling story out of Bluefield. Here's hoping all animal rights groups band together to rail against those commissioners. Why a couple of days couldn't be given to seeing how many animals could be placed elsewhere is very puzzling.
Justin broke his foot last night, pretty bad I think. Becky said the pain meds aren't helping. Orthopedic doc has to look at x-rays before they will say IF they will see him. She is taking him back to the ER now. Say a prayer for the poor feller, bless his heart.

Judie, Hagmart was a little drive-in here in Martinsburg, back in the old days. Root beer, chili dogs and the best cheeseburgers in the world!!! Secret recipe for the hot dogs--I think they called it SAUCE! I was hooked on their burgers when I was pregnant with Carolyn! McDonald's bought them out and tore it down, I think in '73 and opened their first local outlet in it's place.

I just read your post about your local shelter and could throw up. My heart aches for those poor babies. What idiots those men are to think they get to just start over like that. Sickening.

Bowling was fun. I have plenty of room for improvement, I can tell you that. I think I might get some shoes soon. The rented ones weren't all that comfortable. I want to wait a bit before I get a ball, though. Not sure what weight. I was bowling with a 10-pound ball and I noticed that a couple of others were using 12 pounders.
There were two new members on the team this morning.
Need to make a quick grocery run. BBL.

Jack and I went to get the trailer. Since it has a new AC we wanted to check it out. Will return it to it's home and go back to get it next week. Just do not have a good place for it parked here at our house. Isn't that wild? We have an acre, but the way the house, drive, and landscaping are situated as well as the slope of the land, we do not have a place to park the trailer for a long period.

Hello Dearest Eagle Family!
Just a short post to wish you all well today!
Today is chilly and overcast and our house is rather cold inside. Yuck!
Went for my eye exam and will have to go back for a more extensive dilated exam, which I will check to see if insurance covers first. He said he couldn't get 20/20 corrected vision in my right eye and thinks there is some deficiency there. Not too sure what that means, but a closer look may tell him what could be going on, if anything.
I was still able to get scripts for glasses. I wish I could wear those progressive lenses, but they just have not worked out for me of late. I need a distance pair, a computer pair and a reading pair.....
Since I have a distance pair that is still okay, I opted for a bifocal for the distance and reading to see how I could adjust to those and ordered a computer pair. We'll see.......
We have our group coming over for bible study tonight, so I have to bake some goodies!
Sissy - Horrible news about the shelter. It sickens me to hear stories like that.
We are having over crowding issues up here in PA as well due to the floods. People can't stay in their homes and have to go where their pets are not allowed, so they are taking them to shelters. It is so sad.
Kay - So happy to see you pop in from time to time as you continue to gain strength. Your daughter is a God send and it is truly a blessing she is so close to help you out. Continued prayers for healing! xoxo ♥

LYNN, My Dad's father was the bowler.
The trophies in the fire didn't make it. Nothing did. That was around '73. They owned a saw mill, stock piled lumber and finished building the new house with the bowling lanes just before he died in '79. He did bowl there, but never lived in the house. Now my parents live there. The lanes still work!
Oh, Shar---that's a painful break....Poor kid. So is the ortho seeing him???

Hello all, I apologize, and I hope everyone is well. I've not read back yet. I have to vent big time....
As you know, we bought the Mazda on July 27. Forget the other problems we've had....
We were told we'd get our hard tags in 2 weeks. It's been just over 7 weeks and we don't have them. I have called every week for a month and get the same old "we are working on it Ms Soper, the DMV is really backed up." So last week, I finally called the DMV myself. They don't have any paper work on our car at all. The woman I spoke to then said maybe it was in but not yet entered into the system and took my info for a call back after further investigation.
Today, I got a call back....The man I spoke with today informed me that there is in fact NO paperwork pending for tags on our car.
He said the dealer submitted the paperwork on Sept 1 and it was rejected. He resubmitted on Sept 6 (2 weeks ago) and it was rejected again. Since then, it has not been resubmitted.
Why would it be rejected, Lynne?
I asked what might cause the paperwork to be rejected and he said the list is endless, from a simple thing like a signature missing, to a problem with the VIN, etc. He couldn't be specific.
SO, I called the dealer AGAIN. I told him I had contacted the DMV and they don't have any paperwork, I repeated what the man told me. So the dealer said, "well MS Soper,we are working on it and we'll have your tags" Same as he has been saying all along.
SO, I said, "you are lying to me. The paper work isn't there. We bought the car on July 27 and the first time paperwork was submitted was not til SEPT 1!!! How can you explain that? Why was it rejected 2 times, and why has there been no resubmission for the last 2 weeks?"

And he just kept repeating the same old story. He actually hung up on me THREE TIMES, stating he already said all he had to say on the matter. He also accused me of LYING about Steve getting pulled over! I told him I'd be happy to fax the warning over to him.
He just kept sticking to his same old line! And I pushed him on the information I got and every time, he hung up on me, saying he didn't have time for this, he had things to do!!!
About time for a lawyer!
The DMV also told me last week that they are running about 30 days from time of getting proper paperwork to giving the hard tags to the dealer. Our temp tags expire on SUNDAY.
LYNN2 I took the link to the poor doggies over to our SPCA of Tampa Bay in Largo I know Rick himself has gone to other states to help I hope I hear something He has been on the new about how they go to other states and rescue animals

I'll file a complaint with the DMV Dealer Complaint Division, which is what the guy there told me to do. I will do a post on Angie's List, I will find every place on the internet where I can write a review on the dealer. But what else can we do? He won't tell us anything!!!!!!!! He just keeps lying!
Hey in Fl we have lawyers affiliated with each tv stations they would not want to be slammed on tv Try that route Lynn and they are free Call the BBB and report it also
and none of these things will get us our tags....

I was SO calm when I was talking to him, but sounded very stern per my boss who walked in on the conversation! I've been told before that I have quite a way with handling things!
Since he is not admitting that he hasn't submitted the paperwork and is sticking to his same old line....well, clearly I will get nowhere with him by myself. We are truly stuck and need to find some way to figure out our legal rights. I guess it COULD happen...but if we don't have the tags by Friday, we are screwed because the DMV isn't open for tags on the weekends. If they are a month from submission to handing over tags for the dealers as they said, I just don't know how he is going to pull this off. He never even said that he GAVE them the paperwork in his own defense! He never said that HE was angry over the fact that THEY haven't given him the tags either! He has never said these things, or that he'll find out what the hold up is. He is at the DMV every single day according to himself! Don't you think he'd have at least told me what he was working on or what the problem was? NO! He just says the same old thing over and over. If I hear "well Ms Soper, I'm working on it" one more time........

Hey more on the guy that killed his two wives in 1986 was his first offence they charged him with manslaughter I guess not enough evidence for murder so now everyone is trying to figure out what went wrong he was charged and found guilty the judge is now dead only gave him probation he only served 26 days got out was suppose to be on prob for 10 years somehow got reduced to 5 months They are looking for the prosecutor then and looking at the records Not for sure what they can do That would be double jeopardy wouldn't it?

Very good meeting for the Autobiography writing group. A variety of stories and we were a chatty group today...A death in the family, an old boy friend, interesting books read, poetry, September 11th 2001 expereinced in Vietnam and Japan,The Lower North Shore of Québec, perspective and how respond if it differs from what we see...these were the topics read in our group today...lots of good discussions.

Hoda, so pleased you had such a great autobiographical writing session. It really is fun to share ideas as perspectives.
The meeting tonight was similar. There were only three faculty and the faculty adviser. We shared all sorts of ideas about how to get the officers involved in demonstrating knowledge. The police commander, for example, is having a moot court next week. Cool idea. Only meeting I've ever attended and left feeling something was accomplished.
Lynne2, I cannot express how upset I am about your situation. Perhaps a pro bono lawyer would be willing to make a phone call or write a letter. I know that won't help by the time the tags expire but it might stop the guy from jerking others around. Makes me wonder if the car was sold to you legally. As Lynn asked, do you actually have the title?
Sissy, I think Mattie participating in teen court is terrific. Sometimes penalties set forth by one's peers can have a really positive effect.

Linda that is the kind of glasses I needed. I used to have bi-focal and I went to tri-focals and I didn't have any problems at all. They are even better than the bi-focals for some reason I kept having to adjust to those. The tri is GREAT!!!!! Linda prayers for your eyes.

Well, Lynne, then call him tomorrow and let him know that if it is not resolved by Friday, you expect a loaner car until he can get you the tags.

none of my police friends are in that county Margy. I thought of that!
I am so worried. If he can't pull off getting the tags by Saturday, we'll have to go down there and take action of some sort. We cannot be without that second car. Hopefully I'll get some answers when I call that department of the DMV tomorrow.
Mostly, I am just so very discouraged. It just seems that whatever we do results in a mess of some sort....

What Sport Would Be Hardest with a 20-pound Bowling Ball?
So....Jack and I went outside to enjoy the evening. I had a glass of wine, he had his frosted mug of beer. While talking I said it had been a while since we had been out to eat. Jack's response was let's go to Nonna Tata this evening. Boy, did I jump on that...and out to eat we did go. One full tummy here!
Lynne, sorry to bail out on you. Do call some more tomorrow. Also, talk with the dealer again and tell him you have to have something by this weekend. And, definitely let him know who all you are informing of this situation.
I am very excited. Today we put on Craig's List my old set of dishers and we have a response tonight. Do hope we sell them!

I'm also going to make a sign and stand out on the highway median strip in front of the dealer and spin it. I will be a hand with one finger up only, and say DIAMOND AUTO SUCKS. I'm going to spin it like the real sign spinners, and smile and wave to everyone. I'm going to ask Shirley if I can borrow her 25lb bowling ball, too. I'll aim it strategically and practice my bowling technique.

Funny Lolly, same thing my boss said today when she was listening to my conversation! The only thing that could possibly have made my calm but stern comments better would have been to speak with a little bit of southern accent...that makes anything stern sound so sweet at the same time!
