Judie is okay.....has worked herself too hard with her plantings yesterday and today. Legs hurting badly. Resting and will check in later. Was too tired last night.
SCREAM!!!!!!!! On sofa watching news and saw a spider crawling on Liesl. Lost it....jumped up...saw it go into the foot rest.....opened it again and beat on it--it fell on floor and I got it. SCARY!
We didn't get enough rain out the storm to even dampen the deck. Sun back out now.
Nice pic of your Dad, too, Shirley...he does remind me of someone, too, but not sure who! I can see you in him, tho'!! Or him in you to be more accurate!
Hedgie-Lynn you was laughing at the video. I was doing the opposite lol. WOW JudyE the commerical was terrible and I'm not sure the video was any better. Those are some mean birds!!!!!!!! But there again I guess they are just that kind of bird.
Well I am back from a wonderful day weather wise aqnd the activities were a success...We had a Salsa Band accompany us on the main street of down town and THEY MADE A LOT OF NOISE...people came out running to see what is going on and then they weould see the Grans sign and they would clap and wave. The RCMP gave us an escort so we would not be run over at busy intersections, busy in Nelson is anythin more than four cars at a time!!! We thanked them and they wished us well and asked us to be careful...they put their sirens on and flasehd their lights and it was all quite a show.
Kay, It is indeed a wonderful picture of Dad and I am glad that now we could start putting pictures of Dad's. In Canada we do celebrate both Fathers' Day and Mothers'day. In Egypt we celebrate only Mothers'Day on the first day of spring.
Judy E and Stronghunter your Dads look great.
My Dad took me to see Liberty Bell twice and we spoke of going another time. I was not with him the time this picture was taken. He was very proud of American History and in Boston we visited many sites. He travelled the world several times and always had a quiet and dignified way in which he sang praises of the American Heritage and his pride of being an American...When Mom died, in church we all sang AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL and he asked that the same happen for him when he died, which of course we did...he knew God's Grace in being American and I hold him dear to my heart for what he taught me by how he lived...
Paula it sounds like heaven where you are, with nature opportunities. Never mind about missing a shot, it is amazing to actually see the happenings.
Mema Jo it is warm enough then to wash the car in the front yard and of course they needed a suprevisor...good for you someone has to do it... ;^) ...
and that was the only scene I enjoyed I don't like the bloody part I know what they do I just don't want to see it I guess LOL Reminded me of a lady that walked out of the bathroom and no one told her she had TO hanging out her back side LOL
judy E are you talking about the OC camera page? I went there and it still looks the same witht he same message about weather and technical difficulties...or was it the National Geographic page...it was a wonder to me how close they were able to get to these birds. They looed rather unfriendly and I am not sure I would have liked to be so close...I had never seen such birds so I was curious. Thanks for posting it.
I am glad Leisl is not afraid of spiders now it is to get her Mom clamed down...
Oh I wonder what is going on there then??? Steve had said problems with the microwave signal...don't know...I got the regular picture when I went...could they be working on the weekend?...don't know. I believe you Judy E even without the picture.
Evening Everyone! Read back some of yesterday's and this AM. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DANA GRAY!!!!
Only thing neat we saw at Park today was another Balt. Oriole in top of same tree by office. And on the osprey cam, was cool enough most of the day that Mom didn't have to shade the chicks. I think they grew since TU!!!Dad brought in a beautiful goldfish at 11AM that lasted all day! Was sitting out on deck and baby boy downy woodpecker came to magnolia tree near the suet, but never went there. Later he was back w/Dad who got suet and fed him! Seems a tad early this year. Our usually late nesting house wren has been checking out the house for a few weeks now, but not ready to sing for a mate. The first time he came, he pulled feathers out of the house!!!And a couple hummers stopped by the feeder.
Gadzooks, went over to check out Live cam, started looking at some of their gallery pics on OC, & then everything even internet red X did bings! Put up Task Mgr to end program & it said IE is not responding!!! Finally got straight. Boy, those ants did a big number on all the techy stuff!! ☺
Dana, I don't watch the ads. Most are so stupid and loud I mute them and ignore them. I said the BIRDS were laughing the whole time. Just doing what comes naturally to them---defending what they think is theirs.
Okay....NOW I'm laughing-----HODA: I thought the RCMP rode horses! I am SO disillusioned now... :( I know horses don't have lights and sirens. Glad you had so much fun.
My cam page doesn't have that, either, JudyE......and when I click on your pic, it takes me to your profile where it still shows your Dad pic......WEIRD!
Have done far too much physical activity yesterday and today. Much yard work was needed and more to do tomorrow. Arteries are seriously not happy and ankle is not happy, either. I guess I'm just a mess.
I looked quickly at these recent comments and, if I understand, BroCat has returned to its loving humans. So relieved.
Shirley, James Cagney resemblance.
Will have a question or two for Megan tomorrow. Too tired to type them tonight.
Okay, the night light is set for 11:00pm. May the sandperson bring restful sleep for all.
HEDGIE not weird I changed my picture back of my dad I found the one I was looking for finally I resreshed the page and it came back to normal NATURE NUT-Pictures were mentioned on the OC are the the ones that are way below the chat area or are they somewhere else Oh picture I like looking at pictures especially when I haven't seen them
Hedgie/ Lynn...The RCMP do ride on horses and in biger centres like Ottawa for example you will see them on Parlaiment Hill on horse back and their red serges...these are their dress uniforms...they do stand on pomp and ceremony a great deal. However they also mostly have police cars like the American ones and now even they have them on bicycles so they can do Community Policing...I drive a small little Toyota Yaris and the RCMP have a few of these compact cars to do their community policing also.{They are very good on gas, 40 dollars a month is what I pay!!!} Sorry to disillusion you. We have what we refer to as RCMP Musical Rides and this is a wonderful show to see as they go in formation and they are very impressive...It was funny today because for the walk today, we had to get permits and chart the streets we were going to go to, they had to give approval...today they brought out two American style cruisers for the Litlle Old Grans!!! ;^) !!! The sirens are loud...one of them asked me if I had enough water to drink...they did not want us dehydrating I presume...they are very friendly actually.
Hi all! I am home and so in need of rest. Had a great day! We went to the baby shower and while the ladies were there the dads took the children to play in the river. It is a shallow area, running over rocks at Dinosaur Valley State Park. Then after the shower we went to my nephews in laws for dinner. We all had a great time. But, I am all so ready to have peace and quiet. I will get it for the rest of this evening and all day tomorrow. Yea!
Judie Judie Judie.....oh dear. What were you thinking?? I hope you have taken the appropriate steps to ease your pain. And I'm sure all of you hard work looks wonderful. BUT...please be more careful tomorrow and don't over do it again!
Loretta, great sightings today. A baby Downy! How cool!
Oh Lynn, sorry you had to deal with the SPIDER.
Glad you got a nice nap today DanaWV...I did too!
JudyE...OMG those birds are hysterical!
Hi Shirley...hope Flash the Crash hasn't done so too much today!
Brother is home and doing SOOOOOOO much better now! He's rehydrated, drinking on his own now, and I'm going to feed him shortly. Just wanted to make sure he was settled down after his big day at the hospital! He is running his mouth like normal now (good bye quite times!) and has already attempted to get into the refrigerator since coming home. He's sneezing and on an antibiotic, and some nutrition dense food and supplement for the next two days. So he is on his way back to normal....God help us!
My friend Tracey the vet tech has been taking animal Reikie classes for a few months now. She emailed me this morning..."I Reikied him last night to give him the energy to return home; maybe this stuff does work! :)" I'm sure it does...along with the power of prayer!
Looks like Kay is getting some hefty storms again tonight. We have a line just east of her that is plowing down from the north, but it looks like it will stay east, at least for now.
Good Evening All.. I went to Mass then to dinner. I got wrapped up in a Clint Eastwood movie - It was great! Sounds like everyone did good today - well except for Hedgie's spider. If Liesl can eat Stink Bugs she should do good with spiders! (Heaven forbid) I am going to sign off now and get ready to call it a day. Need to see Sharon's paint job on FB.
Good Night Everyone and prayers are being said for you and yours. Hugs for all ((hugs)) ♥♥♥♥♥♥
speaking of Stinkbugs...haven't seen on single one all day today. So weird. Well, maybe the trap is really a deterrent! LOL! Really, I think they got fried in the heat last week. Too bad, so sad...
Glad to read Lynne's Brother is home! Since Hedgie signed off, I'll have to ask her tomorrow if she heard about the Kyle Busch/Richard Childress altercation today after the truck races!!!Childress who owns 2 trucks put Kyle in a headlock & punched him! Kyle had repaid his team mate by bumping his truck After the race!!He should have to do the repairs!!LOL
Well the temperature here now is 54 degrees F. It speaks for 84 degrees F tomorrow. This is spectacular news and I needed to announce it...I hope it does come to pass.
A litlle cloudy here tonight...but I did see Margy's baby moon last night on the way down...also forgot to mention I saw a shooting star last weekend ...and one last night and one tonight
Been busy busy today but did take a walk on the beach before sunset...got momma osprey off her nest and chirping:) can.t tell how many chicks in the nest
Wow lights aren't on at the cafe this morning looks like I have to break in unless someone has hidden the key under the mat Yeah there it is the key I'll let my self in and open I guess
If I didn't have to be up to go to work I would definetely be in bed I looooove my sleep Have a good nap DanaMo and get some sleep for me Oh I sleep on my left side LOL
Wow did I have a good surprised in my pay check a extra 716 (weeks pay) I forgot all about getting the yearly Long Term incentive bonus for being with the company over 20 years That was nice and my car insurance is due so that really helped don't have to worry about budgeting it in YEAH
Just heard this on news did you know that in Oklahoma you can brand your dog just like cattle apparently a lady called on her neighbor Sad they should get rid of that law that allows it
LORETTA, must tell you that it sounds like you have a little paradise with all the plants I know you're putting in and all the birds you write about. I love it!
Yesterday the KOMEN Global Race for the Cure in DC was very, vrey nice. It didn't seem as crowded as in years past but it took longer to get everyone across the finish line. The thing I love most about announcing the finish line is making sure that all the names of those who have passed away are mentioned, as in "Sally Smith just finished walking for her mother Martha Jones." I think it means a lot to the people to hear the name of their loved one and know they're not forgotten.
KAY - You're a poet and I didn't even know it! Or are you a song writer? That is surely a ditty that Bro Cat would be proud of.
Geez, I haven't even heard about KAY's Friday at Julie's house with all the great new groceries!
I have the loudest keyboard, and the heaviest fingers - think I just woke Dalai and FBear. Here she is looking for breakfast.
FB is still sleeping. Bless his heart, literally. Took a walk down the driveway to the tree line (2/10ths of a mile one way) and he only made it half way on the down hill part before he had to lie down. It wasn't hot and he was breathing so hard. Kate ran up and got the car, we loaded him up, he got a little ride around the area then back to the house. Very worried about my boy. We've feared he's in congestive heart failure for a while. He's 10 1/2 and 78 pounds. A very big, but not overweight, boy. I'll call and have the vet come up tomorrow.
Rained here last night but we need it after all the heat last week sucked the moisture out of the ground.
Off to get more coffee.
Can't wait until PAULA checks in with her sightings of the morning!
WANDA hope you got some much needed rest and that GG grants you another day off!
JUDIE - STAY OFF THAT ANKLE TODAY! Sounds like you did yourself in with the "but it feels much better" thinking, which somehow usually bites us in the butt, or the ankle. :)
Catching up. OMG---Trace Adkins (country singer) lost his home in a fire. He was on tour, but family at home----all safe, including their dog.
Wow, Loretta----did NOT hear about that dust-up! Kyle is a hot-headed arse.....can't blame Childress for losing it. You heard that Busch got a ticket for going 148 in a 45 mph zone in Charlotte area last week, right?? Will lose his license---but no state license required to drive on the track.
JudyE---know you are already at work, but I got a real kick out of that bank story when I read it yesterday!! Smart attorney!! Those unexpected bonuses come in so handy, don't they? Enjoy---they don't happen in retirement!
Again, Lynne, so happy BroCat has returned and I do hope he makes a purrfect recovery.
Otherwise, seems most of you are getting along without too many crises. Well, maybe Shirley and Kathryn and Flash need some hugs and Liesl is into a new source of protein for her diet(gross).
Megan, if you come in later, I could use some pointers on how to care for my Buddleia and Lantana. I know I could Google but I like you better. Specifically, should Buddleia spent blooms be deadheaded? If so, how far down from the bottom of the cone shape bloom? Same questions for Lantana?
Looking like maybe some rain today. However, it's overcast which makes it nice for working outside. Have a few more chores to get done. Speaking of which, the artery pain is gone this morning. Now just regular aches and pains of old age.
Lori, they said 200,000 participated in the Komen. So glad the weather was good.
Poor pup----and your vet comes to the house??? How lucky.
Yes, Dad's pics this month for Father's Day! I, too, will have to search for one....what I have on the puter are no portraits---I'll have to scan in something.
JUDIE - don't over do it today and your ankle will thank you tomorrow.
LYNN - I've used a mobile vet since Perry was sick and hauling 4 cats to the vet for shots and everything else was something I didn't have time for then. I keep the service because I love the vet and if a pet ever has to be put down, I can't bear the thought of taking it into a vet's office (sorry LYNNE) to have that done. This way they get to go at home when the time comes.
Good Morning and we had rain throughout the night - not sure when or just how long but it feels cool outside and that means 'long pants' Lori - I guess FBoy has had a good life and just like me he likes the car rides if it is Uphill to get home. Paula - just thinking of you being able to 'walk the beach' at sunset! Enjoy your time today at your brothers. All of my Dad pics are on the old slides - have to see if I can locate one. Judie - don't you just LOVE those kind of surprises! Time for me to eat a banana! BBILW
Lori, that's great. There is only one mobile vet around here (in Jefferson Co., where NCTC is)----minimum charge just to come to our county is $200!! One local vet does do house calls---for farm animals and oversized dogs, like St. Bernie's. You are lucky!
Judie, hope Megan checks in to answer your questions, but suspect she's at market now until afternoon.
Poor FloBear...I should have a vet on call. Boomerang threw up another sock last night. It's a miracle this dog is still alive, he must have a stomach of steel. I don't even know where he gets the socks from, we are all so careful and yet he still finds them.
Lori, our vets will do house calls for euthanasia for our clients if that is what they want, and don't charge and arm and leg like the last vet I worked for. I've had some done here, some at a vet. Not always time to plan an at home one, but much better if possible. I always feel bad for the pets whose owners don't stay with them, but rather drop them off. But I guess some people can't handle it. The disadvantage of a mobile vet is that few have on board blood labs and x-rays, and if hospitalization is needed, they can't provide it, and often have to refer to a clinic. But you can't beat it for routine things especially if you have multiple pets!
Judie, I can tell you about your Buddleia if Megan can't get to you...She's probably busy with Market today!
Good morning! My apologies for not saying good night last night. I crashed! I fell asleep in my chair, I mean sound asleep. When I did wake up it was to go straight to bed. Man, I was tired! Playing hooky from church today to recover some more.
Lynne, so glad that Freakshow is doing better. Sounds like he is like Annie, working the mouth all the time! We actually left Annie outside when Rodney was here. She cries during the night!
Up early tomorrow to head to Denton. We are moving Laurel from one school to the new one. Thought about disowning her, but that is not going to work. Her children still call me Grandmommy! LOL
Yep, Brother is MOUTHY. We think one of his grandparents may have been Siamese. He has somewhat pointy features, blue green eyes that are very very ever so slightly crossed, is very vocal, and has that assertive, very busy personality that Siamese have!
That fox new to get out of there Judy E...it must be built in them "don't mess with eagles"...he was sniffing around pretty good taking his time till he got to the eaglet and then tended to do a backing motion and moved fast out of there...
I love the mobile vet that is such a great idea Darn it I wished I lived closer to do the visit at Nctc on the 18th. I am so disappointed about Oct that it won't be open house I had planned on going to NC and there also BUMMER BIG TIME
Lolly, what wonderful humour you have...enjoy breakfast and we won't tell Laurel that you thought of disowning her becasue of the move in the heat!!! ;^) !!! We are supposed to go up to 84 degrees F today but it is only 59 degrees F right now at 9:23 PDT.
Hope today is every bit as Special as You Are... Love and (( Hugs ♥ ♥ )) and some Megan Flowers, "Stella D'Oro" from Magpie's Roost for you both xoxo ☺
Not too many posts, on this "Saturday Thread" but everyone has packed a punch on their posts !
Wonderful, Lori, your activity on Saturday with the Susan Koman walk...very touching, the announcements you were able to make as each crossed the finish line ♥ I hope FloBear will be okay, read about his little jaunt down the country path, and his ride home
DanaMo also hope your sock-finding and sock-eating doggy will be okay
Sounds good on your planting, Judie... and am glad you are feeling somewhat better this morning I put some porch plant pictures on Magpie's Roost link, also includes my little yellow lantana
very nice new picture of your smiling Dad, Hoda on your avatar
I apologize, misspelled Susan Komen, correcting in now
Operation God Bless America XXI for Veterans in our area today as many as 4,500 motorcyclists riding for our Veterans to raise money for their recreational activities from Greencastle Pa, to Martinsburg on I-81 S to Exit 8 then Tabler Station Road to Rt 11 (Winchester Avenue) to Rt 9E - then to the VA for some special events, and presentation of monies (last year, they raised $56,000) due in Martinsburg area between 12:30 and 1:00 God Bless These Folks, and all our Veterans xo ♥
I think West Virginia Weather is going to cooperate for the motorcycle riders ☺ was kind of iffy there for a bit, overcast...but now a hazy sunny atmosphere
I probably can't even get my birthday off from work this year....the Friday before July 4th we go on "restricted leave" for the Friday through the Monday on most holidays week-ends Sigh :( but I did put in for it anyway !
Hoping that Megan is rocking at Market today ! It's a good day for it! Miss you much, Megan but I am trying to share your presence with us by posting "my" make that YOUR, Stella D'Oros xoxo ♥
feeding time at the Goshawk nest totally amazing how those little hawks are growing, but such a BIG size difference between the Hawklet #1 and Hawklet #2. Number Two Hawk failed to survive
saw Mom Osprey at Loch Garten tucking the unhatched egg underneath her this morning...while the two little ospreylets also tucked themselves underneath Mom touching....
5 kestrels in Nebraska are really growing now too lens a little, cloudy there
trying to get a view of Chick at Finney2 - no luck
got a bunch of stuff to do here, guess I better get on it the Daytime Bandit is lurking, worktime facing me at 4. Best wishes, all, for a GREAT day, especially for our BIRTHDAY GIRLS ! xoxo ♥ ttfn
Darn miss them. I didn't know what time they would be biking down I-81heading south. I wanted to be on the bridge this year to wave them on like other people did last year. Missed them....They are a very special group!!!! Thanks Mary for giving them a mention on here ( :
Hi Everyone!! Had to make a post so I can get in the nook! Got more little woodie pics today & have to show a special flower I found at Home Depot!!!! Back in a flash~~~~
I, too, thought of Robinson, Margy, but he was very jowly, if I remember correctly! Also of a young J. Edgar Hoover----who, if I haven't told you before grew up with my Gram's cousin and lived across the road from them in West Branch, Iowa!
Tried to leave a comment on your flowers.....wouldn't let me again. GRrrrr. Very pretty!!!!
Dana WV, Love your flower. Is it a poppy?? Got some woody (some a little blurry-they don't pose well) & a flower pic in Nook, after a few problems! Duh! I haven't checked that separate blogspot I made for animal pic to see if it's letting Comments on or not. What a bummer! How can you share when no one can speak???
Gotta go to work for an hour or so to finish a second 12 ft. banner I was working on Friday. It's about a FUN day program for kids at one of the mansions.Graphic gal, Kathy, did a great design job. Ity's so big, don't know if I can get a pic---have to be SB on ceiling! BBL
Loretta's pictures are UP and her blog accepts comments ! She has the magic, somehow! Great pictures, Loretta, and thanks Hedgie for your comment on mine, sure wish Blogger would cooperate with us on these things xoxo
LYNNE, was right, Columbus was hit with a series of storms last night. They began at 7:30, with another rolling through about every 2 hours until 2 a. m.. It made for a fitful night of sleep for me, but Seth slept like a log !
LORI, DANAMO, JUDYE, that's why I was an oversleeper today. Seth even let me snooze. By the time I got up he'd brought the paper in, read those sections that interest him and was happily watching NBC's Sunday version of The Today Show. He doesn't do quiet well and yet I slept through it all !
JUDYE, wow, you came up with some good ones today---loved the bank "foreclosure" and hope it gives others the idea---the fox at TH was a heart stopper, couldn't believe a parent didn't get in on the action---and great news on your well deserved bonus !
LORI, so pleased to know more about what you did for the Komen Race yesterday ! It's so special and important to have the names called out that way.♥♥♥ I had a great lunch with Seth the other day. They had good sandwich fixin's, better than Subway or Quiznos any day of the week ! Seth was a good host, just took over getting it all out, clearing up and loading the dishwasher afterward. So sorry to hear FloBear is ailing.:(. Keep us posted on what the vet has to say ! He sounds like me. More than once I've started a long walk in the park with the kids, but found myself out of steam, hips wanting to lock up, about half way through the route. I find a bench while they complete the circuit and bring the car around for poor ol' mama.
MARGY, you are just about to leave for work---sorry you have to go inside that intersanctum for the remainder of the day. We all need to give thanks for dedicated people like you who are there to respond to our needs and to keep us safe. Too often we take such service for granted ! Thank you, God, for our MARGY and please bless her at work today !!!!!!
WhooHoo!!!! Liesl just came up the basement steps on her own!!! First four without prompting or encouraging, and the other 5 with a bit of prompting!!!! That earned her a treat!!!
Margy, I guess J. Edgar was a nice young man. Gram's cousin was terribly crippled. I have a postcard made from her autograph book that he signed! Also have the newspaper negative of a pic taken from their class graduation.
Way to go LORI for the race...AWESOME truly AWESOME.
Well it is 66 degrees F not the 84F that they had predicted, but not a cloud in the sky and oh such LOVLEY Blue...I won't stay in much at all today so I just wanted to check in and say hope all are enjoying the day and will BBL
hedgie,Lynn Thanks for sahring a picture of your Dad...this is such a good idea. I will try to find a photo of my Papa from Egypt. He died in 1967 so I do not have any digital photos of him. I will see if I can scan it and save it to the computer and then you all can see what he looked like too...
Well, my man finished the race in 2nd.....not bad.....140° in those cars! If leader had run out of gas, he'd have had it---commentators were sure that he would....:( But points is what counts....and Jr's doing good there!!!
Red-tailed Hawks are flying and screaming like crazy! Playing? Fighting over food? Heard a quieter call---juvie maybe?? Squirrels did not seem alarmed...so maybe they are teaching the young one to fly??? Cool! Too fast to get pics....and about 150' away and in the trees.
Wow I found this from 2008 a swan and a eagle picture mid air attacking the swan got away put the pictures are awesome EAGLE in mid air Attacking a Swan 2008
LYNN, I thought sure I was going to be congratulating you due to a Junior win today, so close. At least it wasn't a Busch win and you're right, Junior is lookin' good in the points race. I'm always sad to see the end of Fox coverage, I like those guys. I don't have cable, do you know if I can watch the TNT coverage on line. I haven't bothered trying for a couple of years, but Kenseth is also up there in points and I'd like to see the second half of racing for the year. Hurray for Liesl, another Doxi puppy hurdle overcome ! She'll soon be dashing up and down stairs as if she'd done it all her life. Nice picture of your dad ! I'm going to wait til' closer to Father's Day and will have to use the same one I used for Mother's Day, a pic of both parents.
Have returned to the inside of my home after doing some planting of flowers in the patio containers. Did some weeding, replaced the slabs of stone in the dry-stack wall out front. Very tired now. Headed for the shower.
Happy Birthday to Jo's Elizabeth. I know it was special for her.
Lynne2, I am open to advice on the plants, thank you for the offer. Forgot Megan would be at market today. Hope it was a good one for her.
from how they got to be our national symbol and more Nice Eagle story beautiful 50 min long but worth it I still watching it now Ok I think I'm done posting for the day video Hey have you ever heard of the White Tail Eagle there are lots of video on them they have a white tail but they are a real light color sort of sandy blonde really pretty also
LYNN, you're right, your dad was a very handsome young man ! Waltrip is a fav of mine, too. Nobody does a better job of providing the driver's view and stategy.
Hey I forgot to tell you all I finally got a copy of Bob Anderson laying in the eagles nest someone on the Eagle Cam Addict page read my post from over a month ago and posted it for me so now I have it saved in my puter I love the ice skating eagle on it funny-- Hey there are a couple eagle with the same spot as truder on the video I want to go to Alaska to see all the eagles wow that would be a trip I could do any takers LOL
Just watched the eagle/fox videos. I remember the second one from last year. Those foxes look small next to the eagles. I would think a big fuss would have brought the parents, and the fox would have been in trouble.
YUK we have our first disturbance in the Caribbean for the season the spaghetti models have it going different directions right now Rain yeah by Tues 40% chance of it becoming a TD
Watch the video it on the video I am that is was Bob Anderson says and when she brings in flugg he will move it after she leaves the exact opposite at our nest I am still watching the video really a nice piece
here is me and dad! I'll have to try to find a better picture to post later.
Judie, the bush shouldn't be "pruned" until next early spring. I do mine on March 15ish. Actually, I was late this year and didn't do til first weekend in April. I personally deadhead the spent flowers. I take them off at just above a pair of leaves below it, depending on the shape I'm going for. But in early spring, I cut them back hard...my smaller one to about 8 inches, the larger ones to about a foot. They are very easy growers and really hard to mess up!
I really didn't know that this was about the Decorah nest when I first started watching it to cool Does anyone know how old the father is they say she is 4 and call him a OLD MAN LOL
You don't HAVE to dead head the flowers, but I do to control scraggly growth, and because they are not native and quite prolific, it helps keep seeds down that may blow away and start bushes that will crowd out native ones. We have quite a few rouge bushes growing here! I'll have to see if I can find the article, but seeds from one plant can actually grow bushes with plant with a whole different color!
You will love it....they attract SO many butterflies and smell so good!
LYNN ! By George, I think you've got it ! I've earmarked it and will be checking it out. Thank you ! I'll let you know.
JUDYE, like SHIRLEY, I've not observed male dominence in anything at an eagles nest. It seems to me that at all the nests I watch, the female rules the roost and often changes the placement of sticks put in by the male. A male doesn't even take his turn brooding until the female indicates she's ready for a break. With the NBG pair it seemed particularly clear he'd have liked a wider role, but Norfolk Mom was boss. I felt Belle was very much in charge, too. That's why she has a lot of training to do before Truder is whipped into shape !☺

Will have to watch the news I guess to see if anything good happened I guess
Interesting, Judy. I don't know who it might be.
Judie is okay.....has worked herself too hard with her plantings yesterday and today. Legs hurting badly. Resting and will check in later. Was too tired last night.
Check out this National Geographic video toooo cool FLYING DEVILS I love the toilet paper toooo funny
Loved the video, Judy! Did not know anything about those birds.
someone had posted it on the Eagle Cam Addict facebook page
SCREAM!!!!!!!! On sofa watching news and saw a spider crawling on Liesl. Lost it....jumped up...saw it go into the foot rest.....opened it again and beat on it--it fell on floor and I got it. SCARY!
We didn't get enough rain out the storm to even dampen the deck. Sun back out now.
Nice pic of your Dad, too, Shirley...he does remind me of someone, too, but not sure who! I can see you in him, tho'!! Or him in you to be more accurate!
Glad you got it Lynn. Has Liesl recovered???
I don't think she even knew what was happening, Shirley.....I didn't seem to scare her too bad! But she probably wondered why I woke her so abruptly!!
That video is hilarious, JudyE--- and it's as if the birds are LAUGHING the whole time!!
Back for a short while folks.
I went and layed down boy did I sleep.
Hedgie-Lynn you was laughing at the video. I was doing the opposite lol.
WOW JudyE the commerical was
terrible and I'm not sure the video was any better. Those are some mean birds!!!!!!!! But there
again I guess they are just that kind of bird.
The toilet paper scene was funny !
Will talk to you folks tomorrow.
Going in and getting my feet up in the recliner. Turning on some tv.
Prayers for those that need them whether people or animal.
Hedgie-Lynn glad you got that spider. It could have bitten Liesl.
Mema Jo it is warm enough then to wash the car in the front yard and of course they needed a suprevisor...good for you someone has to do it... ;^) ...
This is getting too long so I will post it.
and that was the only scene I enjoyed I don't like the bloody part I know what they do I just don't want to see it I guess LOL Reminded me of a lady that walked out of the bathroom and no one told her she had TO hanging out her back side LOL
Hey check out the camera page has NO VIDEO RESULTS WERE FOUND across it now Work in Progress I guess
judy E are you talking about the OC camera page? I went there and it still looks the same witht he same message about weather and technical difficulties...or was it the National Geographic page...it was a wonder to me how close they were able to get to these birds. They looed rather unfriendly and I am not sure I would have liked to be so close...I had never seen such birds so I was curious. Thanks for posting it.
I am glad Leisl is not afraid of spiders now it is to get her Mom clamed down...
Sorry about the typos in both of my postings...I do not have a delete icon and I will start reviewing them closer...
This is what I have on it now I right click and saved it to show that I am not loosing my mind or am I LOL
Oh I wonder what is going on there then??? Steve had said problems with the microwave signal...don't know...I got the regular picture when I went...could they be working on the weekend?...don't know. I believe you Judy E even without the picture.
I refreshed the page and it went back to normal I just love computers
Lynne, good to hear Brother Cat is OK!
And Lynn, what an awful spider story!! ICK!!!
Frankly, I was more worried about the spider biting ME---Liesl has fur to protect her!
Hello everyone.
HEDGIE not weird I changed my picture back of my dad I found the one I was looking for finally I resreshed the page and it came back to normal NATURE NUT-Pictures were mentioned on the OC are the the ones that are way below the chat area or are they somewhere else Oh picture I like looking at pictures especially when I haven't seen them
Well I'm calling it a day also
See ya in the am
God Bless this Nest
and all whom watch it
Healing thoughts for
those in need
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone is fighting some kind of battle."
Goodnight, Judie and JudyE. Sleep tight!
Yep, Shirley, Judie is right---a lot like Cagney!!
I'm heading for the tub. BBL.
Interesting. I looked at some Cagney pictures. Trying to find one that looks like him. Got some other pictures of my father I'll have to post.
Yea!
Good evening everybody. Been painting this evening.
Lynne, so happy that Brother got a good report. Hope he starts eating for you!
Saw your picture of fb, Sharon. Looking good!
The RCMP do NOT ride horses???? Well!
Sounds like a great day Hoda!
Hi Lolly! Sounds like a fun day for all!
Flash is knocked out now. No need to put him in his crate. Might have to carry him there. Kathryn has given him his pain medication.
Kathryn has bruises from flash's collisions with her legs. The cone has been hard on her.
We have to hold his dish so he can eat, poor doggy.
So he is on his way back to normal....God help us!
aw poor Flash, hopefully he won't have to wear the cone much longer!
Hi Sharon. Saw the pictures on FB. You missed a spot. LOL...Just kidding!!!
So it's back to "Freakshow in a Fur Jumpsuit" now.
yes FREAKSHOW is BACK!!!
We have a line just east of her that is plowing down from the north, but it looks like it will stay east, at least for now.
typo...not east of HER, east of HERE is what I meant to say
Shirley, your Dad's face is fuller and softer than Cagney,, but still resembles him.
I am one pooped momster. Liesl is in bed, and I'm ready, too. So goodnight, sweet friends. See you in the morning. Prayers for all.
Good Evening All.. I went to Mass then to dinner. I got wrapped up
in a Clint Eastwood movie - It was great!
Sounds like everyone did good
today - well except for Hedgie's
spider. If Liesl can eat Stink Bugs she should do good with spiders! (Heaven forbid)
I am going to sign off now and get ready to call it a day. Need to see Sharon's paint job on FB.
Good Night Everyone and prayers are being said for you and yours.
Hugs for all ((hugs)) ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Was the movie Kelly's Heroes Jo?
speaking of Stinkbugs...haven't seen on single one all day today.
All for today~~~
Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
You look happy painting Sharon...big job...well done. I saw the pictures on FB
I'm pooped. Going to hit the shower and bed. Good night and prayers for all!
Good night. Time for me to head upstairs. See you tomorrow.
Good night everyone who has already headed off to bed. Sweet dreams and God Bless.
This is a picture showing Dad with a beautiful smile of gratitude after he touched Liberty Bell
Well the temperature here now is 54 degrees F. It speaks for 84 degrees F tomorrow. This is spectacular news and I needed to announce it...I hope it does come to pass.
Crossed a few things off the "To Do List" today. It's a pretty long list and have a long way to go, but we are working very hard to get it finished:)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS

Did you get it turned on JudyE? No one is up this morning! Where are Lori, Kay, and Megan? Sleeping in I guess.

Wow did I have a good surprised in my pay check a extra 716 (weeks pay) I forgot all about getting the yearly Long Term incentive bonus for being with the company over 20 years That was nice and my car insurance is due so that really helped don't have to worry about budgeting it in YEAH
Just heard this on news did you know that in Oklahoma you can brand your dog just like cattle apparently a lady called on her neighbor Sad they should get rid of that law that allows it
This was on the news last night and just now a lady turns the table on a bank tooo cool I say
Turning tables on bank
Good Morning Eagle Lovers and friends!
I'm here DANA MO, just trying to get caught up reading the thread.
Hello JUDYE!
I still need to go back to yesterday and figure out why we have DAD avatars. Don't know if I have a good digital pic of just my Dad.
KAY, you up yet? Lynne said you had storms last night.
JUDYE - High five gurl on the bonus! Awesome!
SHIRLEY - are we at 6 more days of work until retirment, or 4 days total until you get your freedom?
KAY - You're a poet and I didn't even know it! Or are you a song writer? That is surely a ditty that Bro Cat would be proud of.
Geez, I haven't even heard about KAY's Friday at Julie's house with all the great new groceries!
I have the loudest keyboard, and the heaviest fingers - think I just woke Dalai and FBear. Here she is looking for breakfast.
FB is still sleeping. Bless his heart, literally. Took a walk down the driveway to the tree line
(2/10ths of a mile one way) and he only made it half way on the down hill part before he had to lie down.
♫ ♪HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR THELMA,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!♪ ♫
Catching up.
Lynne, glad that Bro Cat was able to come home last evening. Hey, my sister does Reiki, too---she swears by it!
Another great pic of your Dad, Hoda!
JudyE---know you are already at work, but I got a real kick out of that bank story when I read it yesterday!! Smart attorney!!
Those unexpected bonuses come in so handy, don't they? Enjoy---they don't happen in retirement!
Happy Birthday to Thelma
Happy Birthday to YOU
Happy Birthday Dearest Thelma
Happy Birthday, The Momsters Love You.
Good morning, everyone.
Tried to do some speed reading.
Have a great morning. BBL
Sorry, my delete. Stuttered.
Make a copy of your comments. Blogger cop Error message is lurking out there this morning.
My apology to Thelma. Happy Birthday, T-Bird. Wishing you a wonderful day and a whole blogger land of hugs.
Good morning!
Stopping in to wish Thelma a happy birthday.
♫♪♫♪HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR GOOD FRIEND, THELMA-T-BIRD♫♪♫♪
A belated birthday wish for Jess and Jen, Leisl's Aunts:)
HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY♥
Anyone can visit the NCTC campus on Sat., June 18th when the Audubon Society sponsors a birding trip, which is open to anyone interested. Pre-registration required because NCTC is a federal facility. Call trip leader Sandy at 240-291-6465 by 6/13. "Species likely to be found...." does not list EAGLES! Wonder why??
Good morning Eagle Friends.
Happy Birthday Thelma and many more.....
Kay you have a talent...
thank you for sharing it.
Lori I think it is wonderful
they announce like that when
someone crosses the finish
line.
Hoda sounds like everything
went very nicely..happy it did.
What are you driving that gets
40 miles to the gallon???
Hedgie-Lynn I was worried about
Liesl getting bitten. I once had
a dog get a spider bit. Ended up
a terrible allergic reaction.
That is terrible JudyE they
should not brand a dog like
they do cattle !!!
Oh JudyE the link "turning tables on bank". Now that was a good one ( :
Wanda sounds like you and Gene are really working at the house.
Paula you did find your paradise.
Good Morning and we had rain throughout the night - not sure when or just how long but it feels
cool outside and that means 'long pants'
Lori - I guess FBoy has had a good
life and just like me he likes the
car rides if it is Uphill to get
home.
Paula - just thinking of you being
able to 'walk the beach' at sunset! Enjoy your time today at your brothers.
All of my Dad pics are on the old
slides - have to see if I can locate one.
Judie - don't you just LOVE those kind of surprises!
Time for me to eat a banana!

Great Granddaughter Elizabeth
aka Izzy is 3 years old today!
Happy birthday Izzy
Lori, that's great. There is only one mobile vet around here (in Jefferson Co., where NCTC is)----minimum charge just to come to our county is $200!! One local vet does do house calls---for farm animals and oversized dogs, like St. Bernie's. You are lucky!
Judie, hope Megan checks in to answer your questions, but suspect she's at market now until afternoon.
Happy birthday, Izzy!!!!
Poor FloBear...I should have a vet on call. Boomerang threw up another sock last night. It's a miracle this dog is still alive, he must have a stomach of steel. I don't even know where he gets the socks from, we are all so careful and yet he still finds them.
Boomer just gives me the most pitiful look. He knows he isn't suppose to eat socks!
We have a mobile vet here in Hagerstown, but I've never used them. We also have a great pet ER which we have visited. There are mobile groomers too!
This picture is my bad boy.
Good Morning all!
LOL
Happy Birthday T-bird!! Hope you have a fantastic day!
oh no! Why would you disown Laurel!
Yep, Brother is MOUTHY. We think one of his grandparents may have been Siamese. He has somewhat pointy features, blue green eyes that are very very ever so slightly crossed, is very vocal, and has that assertive, very busy personality that Siamese have!
You have to watch this video OMG I can't believe it that the eaglet didn't get eaten or something Scarey VISTORS in the NITE
Happy Birthday TBIRD I hope you have a gooooood one
Good morning all...
Happy Birthday T-Bird...
That fox new to get out of there Judy E...it must be built in them "don't mess with eagles"...he was sniffing around pretty good taking his time till he got to the eaglet and then tended to do a backing motion and moved fast out of there...
I love the mobile vet that is such a great idea
Darn it I wished I lived closer to do the visit at Nctc on the 18th.
I am so disappointed about Oct that it won't be open house I had planned on going to NC and there also BUMMER BIG TIME
Lynne, if we disown Laurel then we would not have to help her move in this terrible HEAT. LOL
Here it is after 11 and I have not had breakfast. Guess I best go eat!
Out of here until early afternoon
BBL
Happy Birthday to Mema Jo's IZZY!!!!
JudyE that was some video. When I
seen that fox boy I got scared.
Good Ending!!

Darn miss them. I didn't know what time they would be biking down I-81heading south. I wanted to be on the bridge this year to wave them on like other people did last year. Missed them....They are a very special group!!!! Thanks Mary for giving them a mention on here ( :
Yes, Dana
sorry I could not get that posted sooner
small clip in one of the newspaper sections
SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FRONT PAGE ITEM IN MY OPINION !!!
I knew about it from work, and I SHOULD HAVE posted it yesterday...
I am SO SORRY !
HAPPY BIRTHDAY T-BIRD, THELMA!!☺ ☺ ♥ ♥
Hi Everyone!! Had to make a post so I can get in the nook! Got more little woodie pics today & have to show a special flower I found at Home Depot!!!!
Back in a flash~~~~
I, too, thought of Robinson, Margy, but he was very jowly, if I remember correctly! Also of a young J. Edgar Hoover----who, if I haven't told you before grew up with my Gram's cousin and lived across the road from them in West Branch, Iowa!
Tried to leave a comment on your flowers.....wouldn't let me again. GRrrrr. Very pretty!!!!
Glad you checked in, Thelma!!!! Hope your day is going perfectly!!
Lolly, tell Laurel she is going to OWE you and Jack bigtime!!! I bet Joey doesn't have ANY energy to help with the work on that diet, huh?
JudyE---that video is amazing. Maybe fox knew better than to tangle with an eagle....maybe just sniffing to see if there were any eggs.
The motorcylists only had to pay a $10 entry fee this year (had always been $25 before). That's amazing!!!
Great pictures, Loretta,
and thanks Hedgie for your comment on mine, sure wish Blogger would cooperate with us on these things
xoxo
I hope J. Edgar was a nice neighbor to your cousin, Lynn

TAKE THAT ALL BACK!!! NOT J. EDGAR----HERBERT HOOVER.....the President!!! Duh---where is my brain????
Way to go LORI for the race...AWESOME truly AWESOME.
Well it is 66 degrees F not the 84F that they had predicted, but not a cloud in the sky and oh such LOVLEY Blue...I won't stay in much at all today so I just wanted to check in and say hope all are enjoying the day and will BBL
On desktop puter, and want to change my avatar....can't do it....no options to edit....????
Okay....had to log-in. Duh!
Here's my Daddy----circa 1948....not too long before I was born.
hedgie,Lynn Thanks for sahring a picture of your Dad...this is such a good idea.
WOW here is another fox one FOX AND EAGLE NEST SECOND TIME WOW
and that was a completely different nest I wonder if it was same fox lol
was last year also
Wow I found this from 2008 a swan and a eagle picture mid air attacking the swan got away put the pictures are awesome
EAGLE in mid air Attacking a Swan 2008
WOW Local news twin 92 yrs old died on same day Born in NY at same time died in Fl hours apart
A68 chased that fox right out! Whew!
Well, if I was a twin, JudyE, that's the way I would want it, too. Sweet.
Hope it was a good one for her.
from how they got to be our national symbol and more Nice Eagle story beautiful 50 min long but worth it I still watching it now
Ok I think I'm done posting for the day video Hey have you ever heard of the White Tail Eagle there are lots of video on them they have a white tail but they are a real light color sort of sandy blonde really pretty also
Kay, don't know if races are aired online or not! Never looked. Will see what I can find out. I love the crew on Fox---especially Darrell Waltrip!!
And thanks for comment on Daddy's pic......I think he was a very handsome young fellow!!
LYNN, you're right, your dad was a very handsome young man ! Waltrip is a fav of mine, too. Nobody does a better job of providing the driver's view and stategy.
I just realized that is Bob Anderson in the video Nice video
Hedgie I love your daddy stach I love a mustach My dad had one one and off
Hi,
Taking a break from paper grading. I have done ten. There are twenty-seven in all. That leaves seventeen to go. (Some kids did not turn in papers.)
At least, I have made good progress today, but need to do more. It is really hard to do these during the week. I am just too tired at night.
Handsome dad, Lynn.
I would think a big fuss would have brought the parents, and the fox would have been in trouble.
on this video they say that the male has the say to where the stick goes even if she brought them in
KAY--check this---it MIGHT be online!
Online?
I have not observed that the male determines where the stick goes. That is, if you are talking about an eagle nest. At least, Belle's nest.
YUK we have our first disturbance in the Caribbean for the season
the spaghetti models have it going different directions right now Rain yeah by Tues 40% chance of it becoming a TD
They are very easy growers and really hard to mess up!
that part of him talking about it is about 29 min in
handsome man, your father, Lynn
juvies in the nest at BWE
SPLIT IS NOT FAR AWAY
Hello Eagle Pals xoxo
awwww Lynne...so cute, you and your Dad..not sure you CAN find a better picture than this one !!!
I can't beleive that the chick will turn on each other WOW
thanks Margy, it's my favorite! I had to take a picture with my digital cam of the original picture!
Seems like we all have handsome dads!
