We have two people out of the office all week with Strep Throat!
Had to call in people and re-arrange shifts. Woof !

magpie said...

At least they are OUT of the office instead of IN the office with it.
My genes are mean, I have yet to get anything floating around the office. Knock On Wood !!!

Yes, Ditto that from Shirley, for Lolly! Hedgie will be on here with some nurse's words sooner or later.

Good Night Shirley, will anticipate seeing those pictures.

Lolly, I hope your back feels better by tomorrow. Likely the problem is chasing around trying to find out where Jack has gone -- backbreaking to schlepp from Wanda's to Shirley's and back home again.

Ah, Paula. I still grieve the loss of our two Siamese last year and while I fussed about cat hair for 16 years, I wish I still had that problem. Walmart is okay as long as you have your critters to keep you company.

Jo, so glad you had a good time today.

Helen and Ceil -- just sing rock a bye baby and you will be in baby dreamland in seconds. Rest well.

Trying to finish watching Law & Order but eyes are getting heavy. So, turning my light out but leaving the night light on for others. Pleasant eagle dreams for all.

See you all tomorrow.

Criminal Minds over, and so am I! Have a really early day tomorrow. Have to have SIL at local VA by 9---hate the morning apptmts. Have to leave the house before 8, so gotta get my bath and get to bed.
Lolly, put some heat or ice on that back! Sure hope it's better in the morning. Margy, my email from last night about flu would also apply for strep!! Sharon, glad your symptoms subsided.
Sleep well all---bet we will all dream of babies tonight. "Lullaby and good night" and prayers for all.

Been on the phone with Laurel. We are going up there tomorrow. Jack is going to "remodel" the spare bedroom closet. Joseph is moving in there Sunday....on his birthday! It was used as a study and the closet has no rod, just shelves. So, Jack has a job. And, I get to pick up Jacob at school. Yea! Get to see my boy!

Mits, so glad everything went so well. Wow! 3, 2 and new! Glad it is her and not me! LOL Is it not just fabulous to hold a newborn!

Lynn, have been putting ice on my back on and off all afternoon. Have it on now. I think maybe just looking up into the pecan trees got my muscles tense and then threatened to spasm. Will take another muscle relaxer when I go to bed.

Spent a good part of this day doing GeeGee things. Got her fitted with a new pair of glasses (not an easy task, picking out new frames!), picked up and dropped off presciptions, did a little grocery shopping, got cards for a baby shower (I'm going to be a Step Great-Grandma). She held up pretty well...I think I got tired before she did! Gene took care of the shop and did a pretty good business. Stil lagging behind a little.
What wonderful news to hear of the birth of little Benjamin Patrick! Sounds like Annie did a great job "Birthin' This Baby":)
I know we would all love to hold him for a moment or two...kinda like wanting to hold Diego;) LOL

Jo, we pray we get her in a class. We can deal with attitude but we don't like stupid.

Poor Gene. World traveler? It would seem so. And now he has to play carpenter. Lolly, enjoy the time with Jacob.

Prayers for Gina and all her family. Very difficult time for all.

Deb, you're on my prayer list too, and your family, in the loss of your Sam. Never have understood why dogs have such a short life span compared to us humans. Prayers of thanksgiving for little Benjamin Patrick!!! What a joy!!

wvgal_dana said...

Our doggie has been treated by the vet since Monday Oct. 12th. Took him in was in great pain. Has something like I have. In his neck a nerve and in his spine a nerve. Poor fellow couldn't lay down for hours. We thought his legs were going to collapse. Vet (we love Dr. O'Donnell) she gave him pain med and a muscle relaxer. He can no longer do steps. So we are trying to figure out how to train him inside in a new crate we brought putting a pee pad down and praying with can teach him to go in there. His health otherwise is great. Put if he does the steps outside he can be paralyzed. Too hard for Ed to take him down the front ramp and now it is getting to hard for me too. Putting too much tension on the cervical and spinal stenosis. So please pray he catches on fast to the new method. Thank you...

I sure hope so for you, Dana.

Hi,

Been out running errands. I picked up a dessert to bring tomorrow and a gift card to put in for the drawing.

It is gloomy and rainy here today.

Have been wondering what the arrangement of lights around the nest area might be. I do not remember seeing those before.

Susan e-mailed me that she won't make it until later on tomorrow evening or maybe Saturday morning. She had to meet with a study group for a class she is taking and catch up on her school work. She is working full time and taking two classes.

Kathryn called upset because the father of one of her good friends was murdered today. She has gone to see her friend and will get back to me later. The father runs a little store in Stafford County. His daughter said that someone came in to rob him and murdered him. I don't know any more. There is a news story, but it does not say much. Really shocking. I know Kathryn's friend and have met her mother.

Mema Jo said...

Shirley - even though things seem to be falling apart right now - believe me that it will all come together again as it is suppose to be.
That is horrible about Kathryn's friend's father. The world out there is really SICK. I pray so much for
PEACE.

Settled into my recliner to watch Jeopardy. Nice and comfortable.

Oh you all know how Ed doesn't like vegetables. I picked up a bag 12oz of Green Giant Steam in Bag; it had potatoes but with skins on, green beans mixed in a Rosemary butter sauce. Delicious and Ed liked it yeaaaaaaaaaaa Buying them again!!!

stronghunter said...

I really like those steam-in bags.

Mema Jo said...

Sounds good and also is good for you!

Shirley you may not make it for the whole show in that comfy recliner.

stronghunter said...

Shirley, very disturbing and tragic news. So sorry for Kathryn's friends' Seems like the whole world is going to hell in a handbasket, doesn't it?
Tell Suzi that we'll be waiting for her whenever she gets here! Will certainly understand if Kathryn has to change plans, but hope she doesn't have to----sure that Hunter would be disappointed....or would you bring him with you anyway?

hedgie said...

Dana, I'm right there with Ed on vegetables----but that one sounds good...will look for it next time I go to store! I do love the fresh taste of the steam-bag corn!

stronghunter said...

As far as I know, Kathryn will be coming with me. She was upset, and I know she is good support for her friend, but the friend has others who are good supporters too.

Kathryn was hoping to get a new tire on her car and drive it tomorrow, but if she does not have time, my car is perfectly capable of getting there. Kathryn had already planned to take tomorrow off, so there will be time tomorrow.

Interesting Bird Picture

My brother sent me this picture.

hedgie said...

That sounds good, Shirley!
Saw that picture last week----can't remember who sent it, but kind of sad.

stronghunter said...

Jim (my brother)sent me the picture because the photographer works with Shirley, my-sister-in-law.

Mema Jo said...

Lynn - what time are you available to come over to the Clarion tomorrow evening before dinner hour?

stronghunter said...

Balloon boy is on CNN. I am wondering . . . these people like to be on TV. Odd family.

Lolly said...

stronghunter said...

Yes, Deb, I was so sorry to hear about Sam, too. I have been through the same experience several times.
