Thank you all for the compliments on the picture.

Megan, good pics---lazy ol' bears! Wonder if the tooth shot was a grin, or just upside-down gravity at work!?!

paula eagleholic said...

I like the dog pound, too.

Off to finish the tater salad.

OH, I took piano for 5 years. Have one now but haven't really played it, just fooled around...I need lessons again. My brothers both played clarinet, which was pass down to both my boys who played...now nephew and niece are playing it. College kid has taken piano lessons at college...loves it.

Ooops. pulled a Margy, really off to the kitchen now...

How nice, Paula, to find an antigue piece that is so suitable!!!
Gene has a good idea, Wanda. And go, Megan...I'll look for a place to post a "shame on them", too!

I got lost in the split. ...
The red pandas were really cute, but both climbed up in a tree and went to sleep soon after we got there.

I have to learn how to say no. A friend is on the way, plane mix-up for daughter flying in to SF. I really don't want company tonight.

deb said...

Megan, I am off to look at your pictures.

deb said...

Great pictures. I know they are wild creatures, but those Red Panda's look so soft and cuddly. It would probably not like to get cuddled!! lol

hedgie said...

Okay, voiced my opinion to Philly. Carrying the "brotherly love" thing a bit too far, IMHO.

floralgirl said...

Hard to say no sometimes, Deb.
The red pandas were adorable:)

hedgie said...

Deb, hope you don't have to go pick her up! Do you have to work in the morning? Don't stay up all night!

Judie said...

Paula, lovely picture of your Mom in a specially lovely frame. Such a nice remembrance.

Jo, I like your attitude: dumb butts

Deb, easy out. Just put the guest in front of the blog and tell her/him there will be a test in the morning.

Well, need to get some sleep. Turning out my light but leaving the night light on.

Judie

Mits said...

Deb, tell them you have to work tomorrow, close the door and go to sleep:)...short notice, short visit.

hedgie said...

Playing the TicTacToe game....again! Never knew before but now know that the temp of an egg determines the sex of an alligator. Hmmmm.....learn something new everyday!

hedgie said...

Good night Ceil, Shirley and Judie!

hedgie said...

Game repeats questions TOO often/frequently!

paula eagleholic said...

Love it Judie...test in the morning!

floralgirl said...

Who's calling the game with Joe T? He just mentione that the Eagles signed Vick, then said 'I promised myself I wouldn't say another word about it'

Mema Jo said...

Deb - at least answer the door in your pj's and say a quick hello before you say good night!

Good evening my eagle budlets. I am still in Bedford but going home tomorrow. Found out tonight that there is an eagle's nest near the James River Bridge on Rt. 29, had to have gone by it from here to Charlottesville. Will have to check that out on my next trip.

Mema Jo said...

Hello! Hope you find that nest or at least the eagles that belong in it!
Safe journey tomorrow. Thelma is going to miss you or is she headed back for a visit with you?

Tue will be Tom's big day!
Do you know which hospital he will go to or anymore about type of surgery.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Just got home from school a short while ago. Is anyone lurking? Boy, that final exam in Medical Terminology was really something!
350 questions, all on words or word roots, or in some cases, word beginnings or endings of 1 to 3 letters. Hope I did OK. There were actually about 20-25 questions I didn't even answer, because I couldn't remember for the life of me what the answers were. I felt pretty good about the ones I did answer. Don't know how he grades, whether on the curve or by percentage missed. I must say I'm relieved to be through with THAT class! Think I may have done well on the final exam I took on Tuesday. Felt pretty good about it.
Wa-HOO! No classes at all next week! My poor overworked brain will get a good rest.

Ms Bookworm said...

Jim, thanks for the Les Paul bio--very interesting! Love his recordings. Listened to my Mom & Dad's 78s before I could walk or talk! Still have some of them. Strangely enough, I used to work for Fender Musical Instruments in the late 60s, and Hubby still does work there (since Dec. of 1965). Leo Fender was another guitar pioneer. I'll have to look up Leo Fender on Wikipedia and see what happens. He was quite a guy, and amazingly, didn't even play the guitar!

Lolly said...

Now, Lynn! Let's be nice!! You know there are Dallas Cowboy fans on here. Norma, my buddy, will stick with me! LOL

Had a good evening at our pool party. Did not get home until about an hour ago. Four of us soaked in the pool and talked long after every one had gone home.

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers...not sure if I'll get on here in the morning....if not, have a nice weekend!

Hugs to all ♥

Lolly said...

Nite Paula. I'll be thinking of you tomrrow.

Nite to all!

Sweet dreams!

Andrea, you have an amazing number of tests in your classes. Hope all of your grades are good.

Must get ready to go. Bye for now.

stronghunter said...

Hi--the first part of my comment was addressed to Paula, of course.

stronghunter said...

Best wishes for Tom. Hope he has a restful and comfortable weekend before the surgery.

Ms Bookworm said...

Good Morning, Shirley!

Was George glad to see you when you got home after school? Poor guy was obviously traumatized. LOL

Ms Bookworm said...

Shirley, since you said yesterday that you'd like to see some palm trees, I took a picture of the ones behind my school last evening. Here you go!

Good Friday Morning Eagle Friends

Best wishes and thoughts for Paula and all her family today. ♥

magpie said...

Oh boy, I would LOVE to hear Judie "Do Some Gilbert and Sullivan." We had a few of those albums playing often when I was a kid - Loved it..."Pick a Little, Talk a Little, Pick a Little, Talk a Little, Pick Pick Pick, Talk a Lot, Pick a Little Bit." (I hope my memory is serving me right on that one.)

magpie said...

Bunches of musicians on here ♪ ♫

Think Wanda takes the talent prize, though: She Plays the Radio ! LOL ☺

magpie said...

Haven't seen my deer family in few days but did see a family or maybe two, total of about a dozen, of Mallard Ducks! Lots of young'uns.

Lots of fun news on the posts since I left for work last night.
Time for sleep now...
Best Wishes for a Great Friday, and remember, Wear Some Red !

xoxo ☺

Ms Bookworm said...

Paula, you and your family will be in my prayers and thoughts today as you lay your mom to rest at Arlington. Your pictures that you made are a beautiful remembrance!
Arlington is indeed a very special place. As you walk the grounds there, you can tell that it is hallowed ground. Feels like walking into a huge cathedral

Hope Tom is feeling even better today. Prayers for his upcoming surgery on Tuesday, and hopes that he has a nice lazy and comfortable weekend.

Megan, thanks for posting the zoo pictures--they're beautiful. Love red pandas!

magpie said...

Three chicks and parent at Finney's.

magpie said...

oh yes, Congrats Andrea on your marathon testing...hope you did well, think you probably did! And a week off to restore the Gray Matter... ☺

TTFN xoxo

Ms Bookworm said...

Shirley,
You're right, I DO have lots of tests in my classes. Really tends to keep you on your toes! Phew!

They had a segment about Les Paul on World News Now this morning. I'm really going to miss him! What a musical genius. His recording of 'It's Been a Long, Long Time' with Bing Crosby was my parents' special song. Can't help but shed a tear when I listen to it! Also fondly remember 'Mockingbird Hill' with Mary Ford's vocal. Takes me right back!

Ms Bookworm said...

Margy, I'm with you where Gilbert & Sullivan are concerned--love them! Think we should hand Judie a microphone!
I HOPE congrats are in order for my finals! I think my poor gray matter needs CPR this morning. I'm surprised I'm not on the floor fanning myself! LOL That week off is looking REALLY good to me.

Need to get my caboose in gear here, even though it's pretty early. Have to make my scheduled trip to the high desert to check on everything at our house there, drop off the association dues, and pick up the mail today. Am hoping to beat some of the incredible heat by going up there as early as possible. Can't go too early, though, or the Post Office won't be open. (No home mail delivery up there yet!) Gee, I just realized I never signed off here last night!
Boy, that's a serious blog addiction!

Ms Bookworm said...

Just for fun, I looked up Leo Fender on Wikipedia. He and Les Paul were rivals in the music business for 50 years. Les Paul invented his solid-body guitar prototype, 'The Log', but wasn't initially successful in selling the idea to Gibson Guitars. Then Leo Fender came out with his 'Broadcaster'(which became the Telecaster)in 1951, and the folks at Gibson remembered Les Paul and his prototype, and began producing them in 1952.
Here's the website for the Leo Fender biography:
http://en.wikipedia.org/
wiki/Leo_Fender
The music industry wouldn't be what it is today without either of these fellows. Fascinating reading!
