Great shots there Margy. So glad I got to see our eagles wanting to start thinking of redecorating.
We will be off today trying to get Ed to see the Steelers practice at training camp in Labtrobe, PA. I know it is calling for rain darn. We need to keep him dry.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---CONGRATS!---'MOVIN'JIM---you are our #1 EAGLE DAD---today & every day!!----MORNING'--MOVIN'JIM--SHIRLEY & BEAUTIFUL MARGIE----WHOA!!!---I think we are gonna have another 'HOT SCORCHER' today!!--MARGY--Must explain the rolled up windows & a/c---THAT happened the 1st summer 3 of us had spent away from home & living in Charleston--working at capitol---we 'thought' we were cool-----That happened many moons ago!!!---
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Hooray for MARGY! Isn't that a SPECIAL treat, to see our Royal Pair? So funny that they are getting rid of the nest "tree". THANK YOU MARGY FOR BEING A NIGHT OWL! I'll never fuss at you again for staying up so late;)
Good morning everyone. Norma, I loved the pictures, wish someone could teach me how to send things to ya'll. I'm up early today, husband's truck broke down on Sat. and I had to take him to the office today. He was playing on his tractor yesterday and got into a yellow jacket nest. Got stung about 7 times. He got out the meat tenderizer, made a paste and it got rid of the pain. It was also about 100 degrees outside, he had no business being out there! No telling him anything though. Talk more later. Love, Gwen
MORNIN' GWEN--SORRY your husband was stung by all those yellow-jackets---they are nasty!!---We have had several folks on the blog that were stung over the week-end--temp in 90s here too!---But thank your Dr husband for the info as to what one should use on a sting bite!----(pray we won't need the info)--ho!---Keep in touch---lots of folks on blog can help you with the pics, etc! Try MEMA JO!----SHE WILL GIVE YOU DIRECTIONS!--stay cool!
Wow! I just missed the visit by Belle and Liberty. Should have had a cup of coffee and stuck around. Great pictures Megan. I don't know how to copy video, either.
Gwen, you have already set up a blog. If you go back and edit, you can scroll down and you will find a place to put a picture. That will allow you to put a pictue beside your name.
Gwen, since you already have a blog showing, you must have checked "Show my blog."
In "edit" mode, go to "My Account" at top of screen.
Then go to the following:
"My Products"
"Blogger"
"New Post"
Scroll over the images at the top of the box. One will say "Add Images." You can add pictures by clicking on that and looking at images you have on the computer already. There is one for videos, too.
That is about all I know. The images will be added in the opposite order from the way you put them in. My first one has always stayed put, though. Do not know what I did differently.
I have now pretty much exhausted my knowledge on this subject. If someone can explain a better way or add something, that would be great.
I would like to know how to record videos from the screen. I do not know how.
Others will probably jump on with video information. I think, in my case, it will include some add-ons and my computer (7 yrs old) might be "too old for new tricks." I will be happy when I learn how to do slideshows...have already gotten tips on that, but have I done it yet? Nooooooooo.
Just to backtrack, for those just on this new thread, I was blessed with a view of one, then two, then one again, of the Royal Pair at our nest early this morning. The only way I could record was to take pictures of the computer screen with my digital camera and then upload them on my blog. They are on my "Magpie's Roost" Link.
Sure wish I could have hollered loud enough to get some viewing company! Thanks for all the positive comments....☺
I was so surprised to see the Eagle in the nest. Once she landed (Belle first, then Liberty) she almost immediately started working on that plant!
Good morning Eagle Dudettes and Dudes! Great that Belle and Lib were home---but doesn't look like they chopped down the bush yet!!! Gwen, sorry Dr. Husband got stung, too---it's that time of year! I told the gang about the tenderizer paste Sat., too! Posting pics isn't hard--just let us know what you want to do and we'll help! OMG---Andrea and Chrissy both with BB problems----what a shame---of course Chrissy's door can be replaced, like my windshield, but the poor heron can't....what is wrong with people?? New update on Mason: Mason Monday
Good morning! Great pictures, Margy, thanks!! I know you were wishing someone else was on at that time to share the visit.
Andrea, so sad about the heron and what awful neighbors! A few years ago we had a Great Horned Owl we were hearing every night and could make him out a little in the trees. We were sooo excited and loved it. Jack was talking to the neighbors and he said he was going to get his gun, the owl was disturbing their sleep. Can you imagine!!!! Had another neighbor that said the Red Shouldered Hawks were getting all the song birds. He was going to get his gun. Another neighbor told me about that and I had a FIT!! I think he told the neighbor about my fit. Good!! Never heard anything more about it!
Don't pay attention to "when posted" times. The birds were there from 0541 to 0608...Belle stayed for about 7 minutes, and Liberty remained for another 20 mins. They were only together in the nest for about 5 minutes.
I have finished my coffee. I am out the door to water plants. Jack is already out there doing his share. LOL Yes, he gets one hose and I get another. Big yard, lots of pots and hanging baskets!
Cool that Ed gets to go see his Steelers---just hope that it is cooler in LaTrobe and that he can find shade and a breeze! How 'bout my Nats??? 8 wins in a row---maybe they should have gotten rid of Acta a LONG time ago!! NASCAR race on at noon today---rained out yesterday, for second week in a row.
Asking for more prayers, folks, please....my Bills' mom was admitted to hospital last ight with chest pain and a hypertensive crisis. No new word on friends' BF Kens' condition.
MORNIN' MITS!---Bet you folks had a wonderful BIRTHDAY weekend!--thought of you all this weekend---seems like yesterday when she was born---ADORABLE little EAGLET!!!

Daughter Carolyn just saw a BEAR run across the road in front of her (Back Creek Valley Rd. at Sterling Ridge S/D, Margy)! Too fast to get a pic....drat!
MORNIN' JUDIE--& BLUEFIELD SHARON! How are SISSY & TOM today?---Have been worried about them---some day I am going to trade this 'junkie puter' in so I can keep up!!
Good Morning, Everyone, Margy, thanks so much for posting the pictures! It's so nice to know that our favorite eagle pair are beginning to think of nestorations! I must say, I'm still reeling after the events of the weekend. To be truthful, I was almost afraid to look outside once daylight came today. I just don't understand our neighbors. We must have heard about 50 BB shots before the police showed up last night. When I think about it, I get really scared. Our daughter and family are planning on visiting this fall, I think in October, and when they come we tend to sit on the patio and visit long after dark, with the patio lights on. Do we now have to worry about getting shot at? Unbelievable. Now I worry, too, about the orange cat that shows up in our back yard a couple of times a week. He's a hazard to the birds, but if I go to the door and holler at him, he runs and jumps over the fence right away. Hope he doesn't get on the wrong side of those neighbors! Doggone trigger happy jerks.... Back in a bit; going to try to catch up on the weekend blog comments. Need some breakfast too, if I can manage to find my appetite.
Today is Bunny Day!! Fr5ank saw a baby this AM, so I made him take camera out-----put pics on Blog.
Oh Margy, what a wonderful surprise! Thanks for sharing. I captured a pic of that stupid plant yesterday as it had a closed trumpet flower, in case we need something to ID. I quess Megan already said what it was----Datura??
So sorry, Deb, to hear about the eagle. Was it local & they knew Janie was there? Great news tho about all the ospreys fledging. Are there nesting platforms on the lake, or will those that return build their own nests?
Was reading back about adding pictures to your Blog. You guys must have some kind of new-fangled version. I just have to open my blog & top right corner says "New Post" & email message type window opens to add whatever. I have noticed when visiting some of the newer blogs that I can't always get back to Comment page by using Back arrow.
Re: Stings---years ago we were told to take Adolph's Meat Tenderizer w/us if going to the beach. For jellyfish stings. I haven't seen Adolph's for awhile!? Think they used to be the one and only.
Good afternoon! Have been on the phone with one of my teacher pals. We had lots of catching up to do.
Thanks for the info on recording videos from the screen. I will check it out.
Need to go water my poor little dogwood in the back yard. It looks sad. I have lost one dogwood already this summer. Trying to save this one.
Judie--no, the sofa felt very soft. I said that I hope they had cleaned the soda bottles carefully, as I would not want to attract ants, and the salesman assured me that the bottles were sterilized.
I am going to be a bit like Andrea this fall. I have to find some classes to take. Have already received a message that I will have no contract for next year unless I finish all my recertification credits by May. (We have to recertify every five years.)
I did not take any classes this summer. The one course I wanted did not make, so it was canceled. I am going to sign up for as many weekend classes as I can this fall. One is offered the weekend of Oct. 17--do not want to do that!
I have been so afraid that that would happen and that it would be the only thing I could get, but I am just not going to worry about that right now. There are others, and I will enroll quickly.
Weekend courses are the way to go--classes are on Friday evening and all day Saturday. Usually there are no assignments and no grades. You just have to show up, but they do not give as much credit, so you have to do more of them.
Andrea, So sorry to hear about gunshots. We hear them in the distance now and then, but couple weeks ago had fallen asleep in living room loungechair & heard boom so loud, thought it hit the house!(Thank God we have brick) Frank found shell at curb next AM. He thinks they just drive by & shoot up in the air. Told a Policeman at Park about it & he said always call 911 as they may want to check that there isn't a shot person laying somewhere!
I haven't looked at any osprey cams or forums today---too depressing and time consuming reading. Gotta get my act together & go way down the road for haircut. They closed the local shop & my favorie ladies went to another shop further away.
it is 96 degrees here at the ocean, with and index of 106...I would not go out today if you paid me...going to do some clean-up around the cool condo:(
Margy, Great pictures--I never thought of taking pictures of the screen with a camera.
Dana, enjoy your trip to see the Steelers. My teacher friend at school is from PA. She will be jealous!
Gwen, yellow jackets are just plain mean. One summer my little doggie Snoopy got stung by a yelllow jacket that just came out of the blue. Somebody--I think at the vet's office--said the yellow jackets were in a bad mood because it was so dry and they were thirsty.
Good to see that Mason is doing well.
Andrea, so sorry about the poor heron.
Lolly, keep having fits. Some people should just not have guns.
Margy--I only want to see bears through a good, strong window!
Loretta--Occasionally I engage in a frenzy of clicking when the "back" button does not work. Sometimes that is good, sometimes I go back too far.
Hope Bill's mother recovers quickly.
Think I should go water that dogwood now. Thank goodness, the hose will reach it.
Margy, you be careful when you go birding and flowering!!!
Loretta, I still find Adolph's okay. It even comes in 2 varieties---seasoned and plain. Loved your bunny pic...and the nest is really neat---never knew what they were like before. Baby is about the same size as the one I posted a while back! BTW---my blog works the same as yours!
Yes, Ma'am, Hedgie, I will, I really do not go to any spots that are very isolated, except Swinging Bridge can be at times. I need a hand-held air horn to make noise if I do see one !
I am sorry to read of the bird and animal maladies on here, in addition to the concerns I have for the health of so many close to us. It is good that we can share the sorrow, and prayers, with and for each other.
Leaving now, to pick up my grandson and his father for some hot afternoon shopping. Yay for air conditioning, and I have a supply of balloons to fill when we get finished!
Hi, Everybody, Just came hurrying in from outside--went out to take a picture of our Plumeria, which is blooming for the first time in almost exactly a year. Got the surprise of my life out there; Heron Sibling #3 was sitting on the brick wall! Got a picture of him, too, and here it is. He seems to be doing well. (Hope he's good at dodging bullets; I don't want to have to be cleaning him up off the roof--ever!) He was nibbling on a ficus tree twig. May have to break out the can of sardines. Hate to, though. The little guy is getting too tame! Don't want him walking up to trigger happy neighbor!
It took me about two hours, but I think I added a picture for you. Don't know if I could do it again. I'm such a moron on the computer. I love my red hat group, the Lancaster Red Hat Hens and Chicks. Talk later. Have to pick up Talmadge. Gwen
Before I forget, I read some of the previous blog comments from the weekend, and want you to know that prayers are being said for Deb in the loss of Dakota (what a wonderful name! I'm sure he's soaring on Heaven's thermals now.), for Lynn's Bill's mom, and for friend Ken, for all who were stung in the last few days (is this an insect uprising?!), for S & S's Tom (hope he's feeling ever so much better!), and for the pit bull that was so abused and then disappeared. Prayers of thanks for the new butterfly, and for more to come.
Afternoon all. Andrea it arrived thanks. Lynn hope Bill's mom is feeling better. Wanda you and Gene are a riot. So funny. Congrats. Mom and Dad. Was busy first think this morning.Jim and I had to go to the Mall. No one should be out in this What do I get to drink. HOT TEA.
BTW, don't know whether the cops gave neighbor a citation for firing their BB gun, but (forgive me!) I hope they did! Read on earlier blog that Chrissy had a window shattered by a BB--hope they caught who did it! Poor Chrissy must have been really frightened and upset! I can't imagine deliberately breaking someone's window like that!
Hi, Gwen, Love the red hat! Great picture. So good to hear from you! Please don't be a stranger. Oh, Shirley, I really like the new loveseat, and the fabric swatch! Bet you can hardly wait for them to deliver it!
A home schooling group took all of the literature books and wants the teacher materials. I did not want to release them until I was told that it's not some kid wanting the answer books, though most kids aren't going to want the answer books until after school starts!
I kind of think the animal control people must have talked to the owners of the pit bull on the side of the house we could not see. We were upset that they did not examine the dog at that time. I do hope they are keeping tabs on these people.
Way to go, Gwen!! Nice to SEE you!! Like the hat, as well as the lady under it! See...you.ve learned something new on the computer today! Another retired nurse---Anne Marie and I both are , too...and there is someone else, but can't remember who it is! Ceil....want some ice to go with tea? Andrea, glad the sib is hanging out, but agree you should probably hold back on the sardines. Norma, there was a 22' whale euthanized this morning at Lewes, Del. So sad. Hope the FL outcome is better.
Thanks, Andrea. I will be happy to get it. I am hoping we will be able to pick it up and save the delivery cost.
Funny thing, I was talking to my teacher friend earlier today and said I had not accomplished much this summer because I did not read the book I'd planned to read and I did not take the class I'd planned to take.
Then I started telling her what I had done: found an exciting new hobby, learned a lot about eagles and other birds and plants, gone to an eagle release for the first time, learned how to use my new camera and how to post pictures on the blog, painted my living room and gotten new flooring, bought a new sofa, and most of all found a great group of new friends and have made plans to go to the open house. I guess it has been a productive summer after all!
Lolly, read the updates on the Scruggs and little Harper. Don't know whether the increased publicity will help their situation at this stage, but may lay groundwork to prevent it from happening in the future. The crazy thing is that there are people walking around wherever we go with active TB, diagnosed and not----and the CDC knows this. There are Mexicans who cross the border everyday who are afflicted. Why they think that a child from China who is in treatment is one iota more of a risk than the ordinary person on the street is beyond me. It does seem to be a discriminatory move against adoptees.
Oh, Ceil, SO sorry to hear that the mother whale has died! I hope Sea World will take in the baby so it doesn't die of starvation! I don't think whales will foster other whales' babies. I'm glad you got my 'snail mail' today. As far as the weather, it sounds like what SoCal put up with for a couple of weeks (which is just MESSED UP!), and the best advice I can give you is to either spend the day somewhere air conditioned to the max, or just plain try to hibernate your way through it! You definitely have my sympathy! Make sure you stay hydrated. And you're right--DON'T go out in it. Yuck.
Well, gotta figure out some lunch, and go hit the books again. Will try to be back later after school. Take care, everyone, and try to dodge the bullets life sends your way!
Andrea, what is messed up with our weather this year, is it has taken so long for the triple digits and high 90's to get here....this is normal weather we are having now, so far our summer has been delightful weather wise, just glad this is not going to stay around to long.
I am home from work and was out fighting the losing battle of trying to keep up with my lawn. It suddenly became clear that it was time to hire someone else to do it. Between the rain, work, and now the birds, it isn't worth me trying to keep up. I called a lawn service and they are on the way over!! Yeah!! or as Jo would say Wa HOO!
Well, Deb, my mowing buddy, I at a loss of words!!!! LOL Well, we are retired and do have more time. However, one of these days the time will come when I can no longer mow.....BUT that is a long way off.
Lynn, so glad you read the update on Harper Scruggs. It is such a heart breaker. We need to keep her in prayers as this will truly affect her. The formative years are so important and this little one has really had it rough.
Shirley, I would say you have had a great, productive summer.
Just posted a couple of really cute pictures of my Joseph on family pics. He got braces today, they went to Braums to celebrate and then headed to the pool. Laurel had already posted pics on facebook, so I saved them and posted them here. So cute! He is going to be our lady killer!
Lolly, I actually enjoy mowing most of the time. But it rains so much and seems like whenever I can mow, the grass is wet, or I want to go see the birds. If just hasn't been a good summer for me to get out and enjoy the yard, instead it has become a chore. Maybe if I don't have to worry about mowing, I will get out and enjoy the flowers, etc.
Yes, I enjoy the mowing except for now when it is so hot. Riding a mower is not a chore. LOL I hear and understand what you are saying! If we ever get a lawn service it will be for the weedeating and edging, that is harder work that mowing. Jack does the weed eating around all the trees, walks, flowerbeds, etc. and it is hard on him.
The heat hasn't been bad here this year, but the gnats and mosquitos are really bad with all this rain. You need bug spray for the mosquitos and vanilla for the gnats just to walk out the door. YUCK, the smell gets to you after awhile.
Good thinking on the lawn service Deb. You have so much more important things to tend to then mowing. Now I bet we get some more good photos on your blog.
I just ate the most delicious juicy peach that I had gotten from Farmers Market. I guess Norma said that August was the best month for them. They pulled right apart from the seed.
Deb, that is a great idea, especially since you don't have a rider mower....we have had a guy for over 25 years do it, I don't want to, made that fact known to hubby, when we first bought a house with grass, and hubby is way to busy. you desrve more free time to do the things you like to do...smart lady:)
hubby just called, he and son played in a golf tournament today at Hunt Valley to benefit down syndrome, said he faired well in the heat, sure if it had been for anything but that, he would have cancelled....just plain dumb to go out if you don't have too....there were even less people on the beach today.
Deb, I think you have made a very wise decision! There is no point in working yourself to death; and with lawncare being so dependent on weather, we sometimes can't win when there's only little windows of opportunity.
Bills' mom is out of hospital---scheduled for a chemical stress test omn Fri. and BP meds increased. Thanks for prayers!
good news, Lynn...Jo water temp was almost 80 degrees too, not to refeshing when it is hot...I use the ugly beach shoes all the time, look bad, but I can walk across the sand just fine:)
yes, they sure could use it....just checked radar for the area, and doesn't look like any rain threat now, but these storms can develope lickity-split...Megan will let us know
Lots of dropped debris on deck carpet, too. Don't know whether to leave it be or tear it out...don't want poop shoots on carpet or logs or sunroom glass! Think I'm going to be mean and tear it out. Opinions????
I think the rain has missed us also. I just looked up and the sky is beautiful blue with white clouds! Not a dark one up there. Temp has fallen and not as muggy. Little bit of a breeze.
Lynn, I hope they continue their nest wherever you hang it! Hang it within camera zoom!
My excitement for the day was taking Talmadge to his G.Dad to have his nose examined. He told his Mama that he stuck a raisin up his nose last night. Everything was clear. He'll be three in Sep. so can't wait to see what he pulls in the future. One last little tid-bit before signing off for the night. It's so hot in S.C. that the farmers are feeding the chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs! Some of you have probably heard this one before. Sweet dreams everyone. Gwen
Shirley, sure am glad I don't have to go back Thursday -- kidlets or no kidlets. My head is just not ready for the wannabe adults.
I sure hope Kathryn's neighbors have the dog inside and really take care of it. On news tonight was a story about a pit bull found in a dumpster in S.E. Washington. Had been duct taped inside a plastic garbage bag. Was horribly abused and thinking is it was used to bait other dogs in dog fighting. Was taken to a vet, had surgery, think they have saved the eye, will likely need another surgery. Made my stomach turn when I saw the damage. Irony, the dog is said to be sweet and loving.
Shirley, I think you've had an amazing summer! If you need a class, I can offer Criminal Psychology online for you -- I'll make it special with no exams or papers and a guaranteed A+. Sorry, Andrea that I don't know anything about medical transcription or offer you a course, also.
I'm sorry about the Heron being shot and the mother whale dying and the pit bulls. Just seems like not very good animal news these days except for Belle and Liberty returning for a visit and Andrea's new best friend who probably loves sardine sandwiches. Hope Sea World can save the baby.
Happy Bill's mom is out of the hospital. The chem. stress test will tells lots and she can get the best treatment.
Lynn, I saw two wrens trying to carry off a dead piece of spike plant from planter. I thought it might be for nestoration. Do they have babies this late in summer?
Hi Jo, Lolly, Mits, Margy, Gwen, Norma, Deb, Dana, Wanda, Paula, Sharon, Loretta, Jim, Ceil, Megan and any others I have overlooked.
I think I'm mostly caught up now except to look at pictures posted today.
Think I'll check the nest and Bai Yun and then off to read and sleep. Leaving the night light on.
Dinner was delish!! Now I need to pack to head to Laurel's for a couple of days. Two days of boys this week, then we bring them home Saturday for a week. Oh, boy!
Lynn, Joseph is 8. They are doing braces on younger children now days! He has had an expander in his mouth that brought about the big gaps in his teeth. Now he has braces for the two front teeth and the teeth that have not come in will have room to drop down. No braces on his lower teeth.
OMG, why didn't I call this kid sooner?? He just now left and my yard looks so nice. He trimmed trees, mowed, weedeated (?) and used a blower. He was here for 3 hours and charged me $70.00. His regular rate for mowing and trimming will be $30. What a huge amount of work off my plate1
Tonight, dishes done, two loads of laundry washed and folded and I watched TV in between. I was inspired by all he did.
hey Deb, maybe he will come and do the snow during the winter:)....I am so glad you found him....now that you are working full time, it is good to have one thing off of your busy plate.
Wellll, I got sidetracked. The furniture guy said I could find accessories for my living room at Target, so I went there just to look around, and, I thought, hmmm, I will buy a nice new shower curtain to spruce up the bathroom, and maybe I could get some new bath mats to go with the shower curtain, and, then, I always wanted an etagere . . . I need to go back to work so I won't spend any more money. But, they were having a sale.
I also bought some special seeds for the goldfinches.
I know that the bloggers are going to notice when you start school We will miss all your comments and hope you will find time in the evening hour to check in with us.
I talked with Ashley (daughter in law)tonight about decorating her new house. She went to Hobby Lobby today just to look at decorative items. She is going to work with a decorator for her house. Said she is going to take a decorator to Hobby Lobby and say "I like this and this and this. Figure out what to do with it." Funny!
Yes, the last time I got bath mats, I was disappointed. They are thin and they had some nice plush ones on sale in a really pretty rose color. I go in that bathroom every morning to get ready to go to work, so I spend a lot of time with that stuff.
I wanted an etagere because there is a little round window up high over my toilet and I can put a plant on the shelf and it will get light from the window. I really have thought about doing that for years.
I have a way of putting off buying things--I haven't done much decorating since I came to this house. I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm not wealthy, so I have to be careful.
I just looked over my schedule and it has really come to me that I will have four preps this fall. Last year, I had two in the fall and two in the spring. Preps will be similar, but there will be four.

That's a good tutorial, Shirley!
Others will probably jump on with video information. I think, in my case, it will include some add-ons and my computer (7 yrs old) might be "too old for new tricks." I will be happy when I learn how to do slideshows...have already gotten tips on that, but have I done it yet? Nooooooooo.
Good Morning Everyone
New update on Mason:
Mason Monday
Wanda, waiting for Butterfly video!!!
By the Way !
Don't pay attention to "when posted" times. The birds were there from 0541 to 0608...Belle stayed for about 7 minutes, and Liberty remained for another 20 mins. They were only together in the nest for about 5 minutes.
Busy day here, I do a lot of running on my days off. Hoping to boost the local economy with some School Shopping for my grandson.
Hope everyone has a Stellar Day, and that Dana and Ed's "Steelers Field Trip" goes well
xo TTFN ☺ ♥
Shirley, you have to have a program to record----some things use Real Viewer, but for most things you'll need SnagIt or Fraps, or something similar.
Steamy is just the right word for today!
Have a good one!
I have finished my coffee. I am out the door to water plants. Jack is already out there doing his share. LOL Yes, he gets one hose and I get another. Big yard, lots of pots and hanging baskets!
Have a great day, a fantastic week!
BBL
I still haven't seen the new PANDA at SD!----WILL TRY LATER--
Great pics, Margy.
So sorry about the Heron, Andrea.
SHIRLEY---You are a wonderful 'teacher'---I am sure GWEN has it figured out!!
No time to read back right now, so have a great day everybody! It's getting hot outside quickly....
Monday, Monday♫♫♪♫♪☺3♫
MORNIN' AGAIN MARGY--HEDGIE--LOLLY---PAULA & MEGAN with MUSIC!---thanks!
LOLLY---Please keep throwing a 'REALLY BIG FIT' when folks talk like that!---Some folks think all wildlife around are game for them!!!
Asking for more prayers, folks, please....my Bills' mom was admitted to hospital last ight with chest pain and a hypertensive crisis.
No new word on friends' BF Kens' condition.
Good Monday a.m. everyone..
prayers for all humans and animals...if you don't have to go out today, stay in...heat is dangerously high
HEDGIE will remember BILLS' MOM in my prayers!!
MORNIN' MITS!---Bet you folks had a wonderful BIRTHDAY weekend!--thought of you all this weekend---seems like yesterday when she was born---ADORABLE little EAGLET!!!
Thank you, Steve. Now, if you could just give us a new cooler weather thread!
Margy, thanks so much for picture of eagle at nest. Felt a flutter of optimism for next year.
Paula, priming and painting seems to be coming along but in this weather? So HOT.
Congratulations Wanda and Gene -- think it should be named Wandagene. Can't believe there is still a Shoney's.
Sissy, very happy to know Tom is better and hoping for a full recovery.
Andrea, I can't imagine finding the heron. Think I would have just fallen apart.
Lolly, am very happy the tooth feels better.
Shirley, recycled soda bottles? Does it sound scrunchy when you sit on it?
Okay, trying to get caught up on all the doings but still have some chores around here. Will visit again later.
Judie
Good morning eagle budlets!

morning Miss Sharon, how is Bedford today?
Daughter Carolyn just saw a BEAR run across the road in front of her (Back Creek Valley Rd. at Sterling Ridge S/D, Margy)! Too fast to get a pic....drat!
Popping on for a minute:
Lynn Sorry to hear about Bill's Mother, and praying for good care and swift recovery.
I would LOVE to see a Bear in the Wild! that is not too terribly far from where I go looking for birds and wildflowers !
xoxo TTFN
MORNIN' JUDIE--& BLUEFIELD SHARON!
How are SISSY & TOM today?---Have been worried about them---some day I am going to trade this 'junkie puter' in so I can keep up!!
Oh NO!! MARGY---You don't want a BEAR in your area!!---Very dangerous!----
Good Morning, Everyone,
Margy, thanks so much for posting the pictures!
Good Morning All
I have about 3 minutes to say that!
BBILW Playing "catch up"
you made it, Jo:)
cub in view at SD
Was reading back about adding pictures to your Blog. You guys must have some kind of new-fangled version. I just have to open my blog & top right corner says "New Post" & email message type window opens to add whatever.
I have noticed when visiting some of the newer blogs that I can't always get back to Comment page by using Back arrow.
well it has been an interesting afternoon at the Finland nest, with the hoodies harassing the chicks and stealing the fish
I think the rescue techs use something differnt now for the jelly fish stings,,,,will check on it.
found it, they use shaving cream and scrape off the area to remove microscopic barbs
2 Osprey at Finland on the water nest eating 2 fish now...
Hmm, interesting Mits. Can't say I carry a razor and shaving cream to the beach, tho.
Told a Policeman at Park about it & he said always call 911 as they may want to check that there isn't a shot person laying somewhere!
use a credit card:)
Must get lunch. BBL.
Good grief, so sorry about all the bee/wasp stings. Hope all are recovered by now.
Hope Ed enjoys the game and congrats to the Nats.
Also praying Bill's mom improves quickly.
Are there ordinances against guns, including BB type? If so, seems the police could step in with a warning or citation.
Shirely, is tomorrow your first day back to school? I forgot the date.
Okay, back to chores.
Judie
Lynn, so sorry about your BFF's Mother.
I haven't looked at any osprey cams or forums today---too depressing and time consuming reading.
Gotta get my act together & go way down the road for haircut. They closed the local shop & my favorie ladies went to another shop further away.
Thursday is my first day, Judie, but students do not come until the 24th.
Lunch time here, so far it is staying cooler than you all are having. It is supposed to be warmer starting tomorrow.
it is 96 degrees here at the ocean, with and index of 106...I would not go out today if you paid me...going to do some clean-up around the cool condo:(
Wow, only 75 here!
Good Morning, all.
Check Xi Lan playing with his toys.
When I tuned in, he was on his backside up in the structure yawning and scratching. ...Got some pretty good sized baby teeth.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Deb, this is our 1st big time heat wave this summer, good news it should be out of here by Wednesday
All three fledglings plus the Mom are in the nest at Finney's this evening.

Jim
TTFN xox ☺ ♥
Reading updates on Harper, the little adopted Chinese girl. The AP is going to be running an article on her today and tomorrow the Washington Post.
They say she finally stopped crying an hour after her daddy left her.
There was also a good interview with the mother on the blog.
Hi, Everybody,
Just came hurrying in from outside--went out to take a picture of our Plumeria, which is blooming for the first time in almost exactly a year.
SMALL WHALE & CALF are marooned on a beach in FL!---FOLKS all around attempting to keep them wet & get them back in the water!---EAGLE PRAYER---
It took me about two hours, but I think I added a picture for you.
I'm sure he's soaring on Heaven's thermals now.), for Lynn's Bill's mom, and for friend Ken, for all who were stung in the last few days (is this an insect uprising?!), for S & S's Tom
(hope he's feeling ever so much better!), and for the pit bull that was so abused and then disappeared.
Prayers of thanks for the new butterfly, and for more to come.
GWEN--You look cool in your 'RED HAT'----don't you feel proud??
VET from SEA WORLD was on CNN---says help is on the way---It is stranded on the beach at HOLLYWOOD, FL---
Afternoon all.
Yea Gwen! Love your red hat picture!
Kathryn thinks the pit bull is in the house. Hope it is cool and they are treating it well.
Hi, Gwen,
Love the red hat! Great picture. So good to hear from you! Please don't be a stranger.
Oh, Shirley,
I really like the new loveseat, and the fabric swatch! Bet you can hardly wait for them to deliver it!
A home schooling group took all of the literature books and wants the teacher materials. I did not want to release them until I was told that it's not some kid wanting the answer books, though most kids aren't going to want the answer books until after school starts!
Norma, I'm praying right along with you and everyone else that they are able to save the whale and calf that got stranded.
I kind of think the animal control people must have talked to the owners of the pit bull on the side of the house we could not see. We were upset that they did not examine the dog at that time. I do hope they are keeping tabs on these people.
Gwen - Saw our own local Red Hat Society when I was out to lunch the other day...nice pic.
Lynn waited for it to cool down and then drank it.
Saw your picture Gwen, and you are definitely not a moron. You are just getting started, Lady. Way to go!
Going to take a break. BBl.
The mother whale has died.
Koo all alone at FINNEY'S NEST
99 degrees, heat index 109, at the beach..
Oh, Ceil,
SO sorry to hear that the mother whale has died!
Yuck.
Oh, Ceil, too bad. Thanks for update.
Well, gotta figure out some lunch, and go hit the books again. Will try to be back later after school.
Take care, everyone, and try to dodge the bullets life sends your way!
Shirley, what did your teacher friend think of your summer adventures? WE are much more fun than classes, right??
Dark clouds have rolled in...temp down to 89---very calm...don't hear any thunder YET! Wouldn't mind a bit if it dumped some rain!
I have thought about a riding mower, but still just have a regular one. The front yard isn't bad, but the back yard is big.
The heat hasn't been bad here this year, but the gnats and mosquitos are really bad with all this rain. You need bug spray for the mosquitos and vanilla for the gnats just to walk out the door. YUCK, the smell gets to you after awhile.
Maybe if you bobby pin the sheet of "bounce" on your forehead - they little varmints will leave you alone!
At least the wasp won't get you! lol
Gwen - red hat is gorgeous as is the
purple boa! I know you have great fun in the group!
Maybe I've been out in the sun too long....
Lime in the coconut♫♪♫♫♫♪
Deb, that is a great idea, especially since you don't have a rider mower....we have had a guy for over 25 years do it, I don't want to, made that fact known to hubby, when we first bought a house with grass, and hubby is way to busy. you desrve more free time to do the things you like to do...smart lady:)
lol...think so, Megan.
Megan - I am thankful I didn't need to run anywhere today - way to hot!
Humidity was up there also! Rest and
Cool your heals, gal!
you aren't seeing singing gorillas are you:)?
Let's try this again...
COOL YOUR HEELS !
hubby just called, he and son played in a golf tournament today at Hunt Valley to benefit down syndrome, said he faired well in the heat, sure if it had been for anything but that, he would have cancelled....just plain dumb to go out if you don't have too....there were even less people on the beach today.
There is a Downey Woodpecker on
Okie Bird cam link
Hope he is still there for you to see
Ok, now I am worried about Megan. I really do think she has been in the sun too long. Sounds as if you all are having a little bit of Texas weather.
The difference from TX is that we may get some RAIN - Thunderstorms. Trouble is that it doesn't always give relief from the heat.
yes Jo, you are correct, this is normal summertime for us....
and I must say, have not missed it at all...
When it is too hot to go on the beach It is HOT!
I hate burning my feet on the sand - I now wear my sandals!
Time for me to get my evening coffee!
BBILW
Good song, Megan! Vanilla works for gnats, if you have them. I was surprised as usually the home remedies everyone recommends don't work for me.
Yes, we could do with a little bit of rain. Would be nice! Our humidity is very low right now, 37%.
Deb, I want to see you with a Bounce sheet on your head. LOL
We do not have gnats, but mosquitos were bothering us a little last night. The rain we had a short while back brought them!
Time to go fix dinner...BBL!
Going to try a new recipe for roasted fingerling potatoes.
good news, Lynn...Jo water temp was almost 80 degrees too, not to refeshing when it is hot...I use the ugly beach shoes all the time, look bad, but I can walk across the sand just fine:)
since they were there this a.m., wonder if Lib and Belle will make an appearance tonight, sounds really windy there now
Now if we could only learn to walk
across Fire 0r even Water!
Any rain yet over the South Mountain?
Still dark here but not dark enough!
Prayers still being said for Bill's mom. Lynn How old did you say she was?
LOL Maybe Lib & Belle are out looking for a good reliable NEST CLEANING SERVICE!
yes, they sure could use it....just checked radar for the area, and doesn't look like any rain threat now, but these storms can develope lickity-split...Megan will let us know
Jo, she'll be 83 next month.
A bit breezy here, but sun out again...never rained!
Wonder how the school shopping is going for Margy? Glad you did well
yesterday - meaning the granddaughters were happy when they left you!
I think I saw Shirley's loveseat on the TV ad! I love the color of it because you can do any color coordinates with it.
Lynn - 83 just doesn't seem 'too old' now that I will soon be 70!
Jo I know what you mean. Weatherman said no rain for us tonight.
Lolly, Joseph is a cutie! How old is he?
Have noticed wrens gathering nest materials today...just found where they are building: in my Impatiens basket!!
Lots of dropped debris on deck carpet, too. Don't know whether to leave it be or tear it out...don't want poop shoots on carpet or logs or sunroom glass! Think I'm going to be mean and tear it out. Opinions????
Can the basket be hung somewhere else?
Yes, Jo...never thought of that! I could hang it on a tree out in the "garden" area! Thanks! That is what I'll do. You're so smart!
Nope, all those showers died out or passed us. Darn it..
It's down to 83 now, and cloudy, but still pretty humid.
I think the rain has missed us also. I just looked up and the sky is beautiful blue with white clouds! Not a dark one up there. Temp has fallen and not as muggy. Little bit of a breeze.
Lynn, I hope they continue their nest wherever you hang it! Hang it within camera zoom!
temp down to 90 here:)
My back yard looks extra nice, probably because I am not all sweaty and cranky from doing it myself! He even trimmed some trees up for me!
Deb - I think osprey are more important than the lawn. Good Decision!
No rain here either, just looked like it was gonna. All clear now. Thought it might rain since I watered!
Gotta go finish the front yard after chinese food dinner...still good, but I ate all the shrimp...just veggies left!
Next best thing to a patio DEB is a lawn maintenance service!
Now - did you stand by the window watching their every move? lol
Nope, I watched a TV show, how nice was that!
Must have been a storm cell somewhere in the SE area...satellite was blocked out for 30 mins. That only happens in bad weather.
Gwen
Well weatherman was wrong for us. Windy and raining.
That was unusally nice! Bet you find some more nice things to do in your off working hours! Sure your dogs enjoy your being there with them.
I am watching "The Closer"
New season .
BBL
Saw some lightening east of here...maybe Taneytown got some rain.
Going to shut down.
Peaceful dreams to all
Back for a visit.
Judie
Dinner was delish!! Now I need to pack to head to Laurel's for a couple of days. Two days of boys this week, then we bring them home Saturday for a week. Oh, boy!
Lynn, Joseph is 8. They are doing braces on younger children now days! He has had an expander in his mouth that brought about the big gaps in his teeth. Now he has braces for the two front teeth and the teeth that have not come in will have room to drop down. No braces on his lower teeth.
Um, had to come back.
Forgot about the good feeling I got from Molly.
Lolly, enjoy the time with Laurel and boys.
Turning my light off now, for sure. Storm coming. Night light's on.
Judie
OMG, why didn't I call this kid sooner?? He just now left and my yard looks so nice. He trimmed trees, mowed, weedeated (?) and used a blower. He was here for 3 hours and charged me $70.00. His regular rate for mowing and trimming will be $30. What a huge amount of work off my plate1
Tonight, dishes done, two loads of laundry washed and folded and I watched TV in between. I was inspired by all he did.
Deb, that sounds absolutely super! Enjoy your freedom!!!
Think we have lost Shirley----do we need a silver alert???
Judie, I'll take your Crim Psych course online!!! Would thoroughly enjoy that! Sure the subject matter has changed ALOT in 40 yrs.
I am here. I have been looking in from time to time. Do not have the energy to remark on everything that has been said since I was here last.
Went to Target and bought some stuff for the bathroom.

I am sure I have seen some criminal psychology in action. I expect I could provide Judie with some situations she could use in her classes.
Shirley - your comment did what mine did a while back on the blog - It doubled itself! I know that you and I don't stutter!
Shirley - why did you jump from the living room decoration to the bathroom?
Yeah, I noticed I did that. Good that it was not one of my longer messages.
Happy for Deb. Glad she found someone to do her lawn.
I was pleased that you all think I have had a productive summer.
hey Deb, maybe he will come and do the snow during the winter:)....I am so glad you found him....now that you are working full time, it is good to have one thing off of your busy plate.
Mr Moon is rising
almost 5:30 a.m. in Finland....2 chick's at Finney's nest...1 adult at Finland nest
well adult just flew the coop at Finland nest
Wellll, I got sidetracked. The furniture guy said I could find accessories for my living room at Target, so I went there just to look around, and, I thought, hmmm, I will buy a nice new shower curtain to spruce up the bathroom, and maybe I could get some new bath mats to go with the shower curtain, and, then, I always wanted an etagere . . . I need to go back to work so I won't spend any more money. But, they were having a sale.
I also bought some special seeds for the goldfinches.
It is easy to get side tracked when redecorating, it is sooo much fun when you find just what you want.
I know that the bloggers are going to notice when you start school
We will miss all your comments and hope you will find time in the evening hour to check in with us.
It will be the same as when Deb went back to work! Now that you don't have lawn work Deb - we will hear more from you and see more pics!
I am about ready to call it a night
I'll check back before heading down the hallway....
Good Night All
Prayers for everyone's needs
(((hugs))) ♥
Hoping Ed beat the heat while watching the Steelers !
LOL Shirley, you do need school to start!
I have a few to add from Sunday, but will do them in the morning. Now that I wake up at 5:30, I am sleepy at this time of night.
See you all in the morning!
