Right my lovelies, it's 2pm here and I've got good old fashioned Chicken Soup to make and Frank has arrived with my matza bread so I can make the dumplings.

You all beat me up this Saturday morning, Just had to check in to see what I missed yesterday on the blog, take a look at the Heron I've been hearing about and the new nest at Lake Washington.

carolinabeachmom said...

The Tesoro eagles seem to be up and flapping their wings a bit.. Our eagle just woke up and turned around on the nest. and BWO should get up soon and show us a new chick, I hope.

Those Herons are really big and take up most of the nest. I hope no one falls off when the eggs hatch!:)

carolinabeachmom said...

I know it is too late, but Wanda and Gene you both have a safe but fun trip to Las Vegas and return to us in the spring to watch our babies. We'll miss you Wanda as part of the PJ club, of which I haven't been able to get on as I can't blog from school anymore.

Wingflapping still going on in Tesoro.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' CANDY!!---I never get to talk with you!---What's happening down at the beach??----Give me the heron site---Is that found on the KENT SITE??

carolinabeachmom said...

CHRISSY, so glad they got your beloved Harry out of the war zone. It is in a way too bad, as he had wanted to serve, but some nut had to break the silence and finish it for him; as much as he wanted to be there. Glad he is safely back. Who could resist his smile?

paula eagleholic said...

LOL - I was talking about sleeping in...there's always tomorrow!

carolinabeachmom said...

BW eagle seems to be alertand looking around. Ours looks back to sleep and heron finally settled back on the nest

Good Morning Deb, Norma, Wanda, Chrissy, Jo, Paula, Dana and Candy,
Looks like a nice day in West Virginia! Need to go catch up on the last of the old blog and then read this one...bbs

IrisF said...

Well, need to post again so I can get email follow-ups. Why can't that be on the first sign-up???

carolinabeachmom said...

Good morning again to PAULA and WANDA. I really miss being on here during the week. Sometimes I get so tired when I get home from following those little darlings around all day, I go in to take a nap and sleep on. :(

NORMA It is sunny down here today, and almost 59' here this morning. Could we wish for spring to be close at hand with Megans flowers to come next? I certainly hope so.

carolinabeachmom said...

A good Saturday morning to you Iris. I don't get to talk to you much. Glad you are hear.

I haven't read anything about Sandra. but haven't been on my emails yet. Anyone here how she is doing.

I haven't seen ROBYN on here much anymore, but know she is busy with her good news. So happy for she and Tori.

deb said...

Good Morning, Candy and Iris. Paula, it is sunny and 34 here, headed to 50, rain tomorrow. But that is better than snow. I actually can see some ground in my backyard this morning, not a lot, but it is a start.

paula eagleholic said...

Our Cam seems a little sticky this morning....

carolinabeachmom said...

BWE parent looking down on eggs and our eagle is up and looking around. Oh, back to sleep now. BW# settled back down.

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey DEB that sounds GREAT! Spring must be coming soon. When I lived in NY State I know the feeling of finally being able to see the ground, even if just a little bit.

deb said...

Candy, there is quite a bit of open ground now, out in the open, but it takes longer to go away in town. My ice staking pond at the end of the driveway is almost gone, too. It is so nice not to have to keep putting salt out.

deb said...

That poor eagle in BC, it looks so cold! FSV eagle is covering itself with fluff.

normabyrd said...

The BEAUTIFUL CLOUDED LEOPARD is out at the NZOO----SITTING ON STRAW!!---CHECK THE LONG TAIL!!

carolinabeachmom said...

DEB I am looking at the First Light eagle sitting in a nest of snow. Don't know the location of that nest, but do you think she is really going to lay eggs in that snow.?

Lisa said...

That's weird. I posted a comment on the previous thread and now it's gone.

normabyrd said...

CANDY---Do you think this might be the day for the BWE nest??---We can hope!!!!

carolinabeachmom said...

I see Ft. St. Vrain eagle sitting nicely on her nest in Co.

normabyrd said...

CANDY---That's the BC nest now!!---I have it listed as NE too!!

carolinabeachmom said...

NORMA I saw reading the blog last night that the first hatch is due anytime. I hope I get to see it before I have to go back to work on Monday.

carolinabeachmom said...

I'll be up in Winchester next weekend for my son't birthday. We will be going up at around llam so we can get there to take him out ON his birthday, the 6th. I hope I don't miss our eagles hatching chicks. Maybe I can get him to let me get on his computer from time to time. I get nervous using it as it is a very expensive one, but anything to see our little chicks hatch.

We do have to watch our last basketball game of the season with Duke, our main rival. We do this each year. :) Watch it together.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' IRIS---I missed seeing you come in!!---39° here in WV & snowing like crazy---but melting as soon as it hits the ground!!!

deb said...

Sorry, I didn't know it was the NE nest. I had been typing out Barton Cove and got tired of it. There is already one egg there, Candy. I read your post Lisa! Good Morning, we are waiting to see a eaglet!

carolinabeachmom said...

carolinabeachmom said...

HELEN I hurt so much for you. I only had my gall bladder out 32 years ago when it wasn't a simple thing, and I remember going through that and that wasn't 5 hernias. Boy, you are sure one "bite the bullet" person. I am so glad you are feeling better.

I see two eggs at Ft. St. Vrain. Parent is up.

Mema Jo said...

The Burrowing owl cam is up/running now, Norma! Thanks for the heads up.

carolinabeachmom said...

Steve has posted the beakspeak viewing ratings on our home page..
We are # 1 for most viewings yesterday and for the past 7 days!
Whoo Hoo!

I was looking for Lisa's comment that she lost but couldn't find it!
Lisa as I said last evening, I bet you are one anxious gal today! We are right there with you as we watch for that fuzzy little grey bobble head to pop out from under mom's breast area.

Mema Jo said...

Megan - you are sowing seeds inside the greenhouse - right?

carolinabeachmom said...

I haven't seen anyone say that the two eaglets have fledged from the CC! nest yet. I see they are still there. Still nothing in the CC2 nest visible.

deb said...

Here is Lisa's post:

Hi guys

Regarding the lack of eagles at the BWO, keep in mind that most eagle couples are now tending eggs, so their appearances at the BWO nest have decreased since they have less time to hang out.

We hope to see our ospreys returning around mid March. I've heard that several ospreys have already been spotted around the Chesapeake Bay.

floralgirl said...

Starting with gro lights inside house first, Jo. Not in a big hurry to heat entire GH-fuel is $$$$$. At least a week or 2 before I do that.

deb said...

Eagle in Kent 1!

Mema Jo said...

I see him/her Deb. Wish he would be on Cam 2 and working on the nest!
I just don't think it is going to happen. I bet they could even be building a new one!

carolinabeachmom said...

See one eagle in Kentl DEB. Now we need the other so that we can start nestorations. Or maybe they are doing their nestorations in another spot?

deb said...

I wonder, too, Jo. One of Lisa's posts had a man who talked about eagles taking a year off after having hatches for quite a few years.

carolinabeachmom said...

I still haven't been able to get Neokast to install for me. It gets part way through and then quits. Maybe I'll try to do it overnight sometime when I am not watching the cams. It tells me to turn off everything when I do it. I want to be able to watch the Catalina Is. nests. :(

Anne-Marie said...

good Morning all. I havent read yet so I dont know whats going on. Its going to be a pretty day here today. Master Brandon spent the night last night and today we are going to do yard work and mow the lawn with my new mower. He is excited, I'm not.

carolinabeachmom said...

Mema Jo said...

Glad to see you'll have a helper with the yard work, Anne.
Thanks Deb for posting Lisa's comment.
You all enjoy your day gabbing away & I'll read you later. Keep an eye on BWE - don't see any signs yet of the bobble head!
The Sutton site is interesting but don't like it that we can't see those 4 eggs!

Hello all! Lurking today as hubby watches his beloved Syracuse basketball game..

HERONS??? THERE'S A HERON CAM???!?? PLEASE GIVE ME THE LINK!!!

Our first egg was laid on Feb 4th, 35 days later is March 10th. So, first hatch should be about then! Can't wait to see if we have chicks this year, it would be so awesome!

Supposed to be low 80s here today, sunny again! Might take the doxie to the dog park to get her ya-yas out, LOL.

So happy to see us listed #1! It definitely has a lot to do with our core group, we are some mighty dedicated folks!

Chrissy, I feel bad that Harry had to be pulled out when he so much wanted to just be a regular soldier with his unit, but at least he was brought out alive, unlike so many other soldiers. I'm amazed that it was kept under wraps for ten whole weeks that he was deployed.

Hope everyone is well, take care and talk to everyone soon!

Update from VADGIF - re - Norfolk

Friday, February 29, 2008
“Settling Back In”
The original pair continue to roost and perch together and have been seen mating again. If the first mating attempt seen on the 23rd was fruitful we will expect to see an egg laid over the next few days. At least one other breeding attempt has been recorded (2/27). Both adults have been bringing sticks to the nest and are actively preparing the nest bowl.

WOW - all vowels! Think I just won the lotto!

paula eagleholic said...

VA - cam not on

PH - incubating

BC - poor eagle in the snow! Sprig of pine in the nest

Tesoro - parent just left

CC1 - 2 chicks visible

CC2 - must be snoozing

BWO - Cam is now clear!!!

movin said...

Boy, everything was moving as in slow motion a while ago, so I shut down all the windows and started over. Seems to be working better, but except for BW and Lib-Belle cam, nothing I was watching is up now.. Hahaha.

Just got a message to put the password in for the Hummers, which it won't take... I think the dude is moving the cam to the nest with the new clutch.

What's happening at Norfolk? Any eggs yet? The cam is down now for some reason.

Except for the PH/SC cam, there apparently is not enough sun to run the Island cams. ...Kinda leaden skied here too at the moment. We even had an unscheduled rain shower.

Well, I'll look around for some that are working...

Have a good day. [:~)]

They finally put the cam on Bai in San Diego (remember when people used to call it Dago right after WWII?). But Bai is with her bamboo, not ZZ.

Now, you can see ZZ ... sleeping in the 'structures.'

Steven has probably mentioned this, but the FWS has had a horrible week server wise. They had a big crash in Denver and I know they're still working to get the network back on its feet.

Our Blackwater FWS site is down now too. Looks like the whole network is having issues.

Now this board is acting funny, too. :-)

you got that right Lisa. Going to fix dinner instead of doing wv's

I didn't get a ?, so I will try one more time. Eagle left NBG, our nest still down. Eagle on nest at OK, PH and BW.

Thanks, Lisa, for the information. If this takes forever I am shutting down for the night.

Ok is empty now.

deb said...

I think OK's eagle is just behind the twigs.

deb said...

Both eagles in OK nest. BWE was sleeping, now awake, OK did a quick switch, BWE up, checking eggs.

I see the eagle at Lake Washington, I think it is laying in the nest. BWE is awake again. I'm waiting for all the herons to fly in for the evening, like last night. Hummer on eggs.

Hey HELEN and DEB. I just came in to find most of my pics black. See that our nest id sown a-g-a-i-n.
Don't see anything in the NBG nest, b ut there might be an eagle perched up on a higher branch to the right fo the nest.

It looks like the eagle in LW is testing out the nest, just laying there contentedly.
