I am back - guess where I was??? How did you know I was getting a haircut?
The rain has stopped and the sun is actually shinning out there. I guess the wind blew the rain clouds away and also blew a lot of leaves off the trees.
Going to try my luck again at NCTC & then put my feet up - Are you ready KAY???
Jim, there's a new update on Pimu--looking good back in her enclosure; found some old bones, bands and wing markerwhich apparenrtly date back to K-16 in '04; Cormorant and Osprey video; great pics from research activity at Santa Cruz;
Gee, guy---you really should GO out there and then YOU can report to us!!!
Sorry Jo, been out sick The 24th would be fine. You can arrange exact times with Marie Brady, an ornithologist who is interning here and will be your host while you are here.Maybe come by at 11:00 or so, see the nest and then go to lunch? We'll need names for security. thanks, Steve
Wahoo ! So thrilled about Steve's affirmative answer. Youse guys are going to have a blast ! Wish I had the stamina to join the fun. Will set my sights on April ! We'll all be a little older and wiser by then and that can't hurt ! ☺
Thank you so much, Lynn! She sure will get your text before she gets my message on her phone. She should be in NC now or soon. Now she can relax knowing she can go to the nest and gift shop.Oh yeah and to lunch.
Let us know when she texts you back, Lynn! Thanks.
LYNN, that's a big arrrrggghhh on no call re:test results ! Glad I had my primary for a backup because the specialist's nurse never has called back as promised. I guess we're just one of many to the doc's, but how difficult is it to take a moment for vital communication. :(
Knock knock. May I come in, please? Oh thank you. Was afraid the locks had been changed in my absence.
Won't bore you with details. I've just been overwhelmed with exams, grading, preparing assignments for the police, trying to have some fun with the two panthers. A very busy time of the semester for me.
Meanwhile, I hope everyone is doing well, especially Dennis. Wishing those who plan to visit NCTC a wonderful time together seeing the nest and maybe an eagle or two.
Will try to visit again soon. Hugs for all the momsters and dadsters.
Just came back from a walk up and down the street. There is a report of an attempted child abduction nearby. I walked down to the bus stop this afternoon, but it is a beautiful day and I do not think I can tell Hunter he must stay indoors so I can watch him.
He is down the street with a group of kids, so I just walked the dogs and checked things out.
Oh it looks like it is actually Lynn, not Kay who didn't get results as expected. That is just not right, does your doctor have Saturday hours? I know mine does. Don't you know anyone that you can pull some stings with? Where was the CAT scan taken? So annoying!!
I was on the phone with Hedgesville GD - The eagle has been sighted again - flying around and around but didn't land in the tree. Has to be the Sleepy Creek eagle..........
DanaMo---no Sat. hrs. at Drs. :( Can't believe that they ignore a professional's request for a call---what an insult! Can't pick up stuff at hospital on weekends, either. I will be at Drs. front desk Mon. as soon as I get out of the meeting I have to go to in the morning.
Paula---sun out here, so hope it is for you on the way to the beach!!
Shirley, Hunter knows "kick, bite, scream, run away" right????? And he's with a group of kids at someone's house? Hard not to worry....and be protective.
HEY, DANAMO ! I had my scan on the 4th and finally talked to my primary on the 12th. Should have been able to get results on the 5th or 6th. Maddening. So glad you're taking the day off to join JUDYE's hosting group ! Am anxious to hear who all the players will be. I am positively green with envy !
Cannot believe the way the leaves are coming down. :( Can see things I haven't seen since May! Like the mess the loggers have left in the back....and more of the neighboring junked yard. I'll be blowing leaves the whole week before the beach trip.
I told him to run away, but it is hard to explain how to know who is dangerous. I think we need to talk about it tonight. It will be helpful to have Kathryn's input. There have been some very serious abductions around here, but that guy shot himself when the police came after him. (The Lisk-Silva kidnappings were here. I am sure we crossed paths with that guy.)
Shirley I was thinking you are in Martinsburg, but you are in VA...where are you that there have been numerous abductions? Wow that is scary!
Well I better figure out what the kids are having for supper. I have no idea where my hubby is right now, I thought he would have been home from the golf tourney but no sign of him. Maybe I will feed the kids and get him to take me out!!!
Hi, Everyone, Well, I got quite a bit of transcription sent back to the Dr.'s office today. Still have a big batch to finish over the weekend and send to them on Monday.
Lynn, that's awful that you haven't heard the results of your scan yet! Could tell you a horror story or two myself about just that! What's wrong with those doctors, anyhow?
Shirley, love the picture of the 2 doxies! One does remind me of Liesl! Scary situation regarding the wacko in the neighborhood! Hope the conversation tonight with Hunter prepares him for almost anything. I'm sure it will. We have gone through that scenario in years past. Have some registered sex offenders living nearby now, too. It's sure not the world I remember growing up in! Aargh! Well, Kubby is hungry for dinner, so guess I'd better run for now. Will BBL.
GREAT NEWS FROM STEVE THAT THE VISIT TO NCTC IS ON!!! HURRAH...
SHIRLEY I am concerned about abductions, may God keep HUNTER safe...Sometimes I think we live in a crazy world and that there are so many people hurting...
JUDIE checked in, YEAY!!! And by the way never will the locks be changed while you are gone...LOL we miss you too much when you are not on the blog.
Drive safely Paula we will look forward to your checking in when you arrive to your beach house...
It was a lovely day for me and many errands got done so that means no time to organize the flat, it will have to wait till tomorrow. My dental hygienist is new to me and she is very friendly and very good at what she does.It seems to me they are all getting younger and younger, My Dentist looks as if she is barley out of high school and this one looked like she was in middle school but she assured me she was in her early twenties!!!
A very good Yoga class and I feel fortunate and with an incredible amount of gratitude today...God's GRACE , God's Grace indeed...
LYNN I am with you in terms of the inconsideration in not getting your results...I hope you do not worry over the weekend and don't work too hard with the blowing of the leaves project...it is fun that you will soon be headed off to holidays...will LIESL come with you this time?
Wondering if anyone saw the beautiful skies as sunset approached.
I saw the most amazing rainbow. Interesting, the most torrential rainfall last night, followed this evening by the most spectacular rainbow... two powerful extremes
MARGY thanks for checking in and I am sorry the day was long and tiring...Sleep well and I hope tomorrow is a better day. I am glad you enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
How wonderful JO's Grand daughter saw the eagle circling...awesome...I will have to start making closer trips to the lake to see if I can spot me an eagle...Wonderful that the younger generation knows how to look up, way up and to recognise an eagle.
Yeah, and Judie has special connections with Andy who controls the security system. Judie takes care of the night light and Andy takes care of the the door locking. Couldn't lock her out if we wanted to; she would just get in anyway.
Hoda, no---I won't worry or stew about the CT results! It is probably fine. I just get irritated over the lack of professional courtesy! Yes, Liesl WILL be going to the beach with us! I meant to also tell Judie that she will never be blocked/locked out! I've told her that before, too---when she's had blog cop problems!
Don't think I'll get much leaf blowing done this weekend. 4 hr. event tomorrow for animals at Walgreen's=almost 6 hrs. away from home. And meeting on Sunday afternoon for 2 hrs. then Monday AM meeting---so it will be Mon. afternoon before I can really get much accomplished. My luck, it will be raining again by then!
Oh---some good news...the school bus overdose that Carolyn's friend told her about was revived!!!! Surely praying that they get him/her into a good rehab.
DanaMo, I am in the Fredericksburg area. The Lisk-Silva case involved the abduction and murder of three teenaged girls--two of whom were sisters and were taken together. It happened soon after they got off the school bus.
The killer moved to South Carolina and took another girl and she escaped and he killed himself when he was about to be taken by the police. There was a television movie made about the South Carolina girl.
The daughter of one of my fellow teachers was being stalked by this man. They found notes about her among his things. I had been to this teacher's house. There are several reasons that I say we have crossed paths.
The mother of the Silva girl had a special license plate on her car. I've followed that car down the street numerous times.
Yea, me!!! Christmas Luncheon invitations ALL done!! Ready for the mailbox! My cohort wants them mailed out by the first of the week....so they will go to the PO tomorrow!
Shirley, the ANSWER was "this country lost it's Pacific Ocean access in 1833 (?) but maintains a navy to guard the rivers and lakes." and the final Jeopardy question was "What is Bolivia?"
Jo, Carolyn has also gotten double rainbow pics, and Christie's MIL's friend did, too! They sure seem to be prevalent! Guess that's the payback for all the lousy weather we've had!
Hi all! We be home, all safe and sound. Well...safe anyway!
Have unloaded the trailer, on my fourth load of wash and we have had supper.
Annie is right here. She has not shut up since we came home. Also, lots of purring too! We just had a long session of petting, purring and behind the ear scratching. She is looking good. Coat shiny and eyes bright!☺ She has also been in and out several times.
Lynn - Kudos to you for getting those invitations done and ready to go. One more thing off your list!!
Judie - Glad to hear from you.....and locks will never be changed without you! Sorry you've been so busy!
Andy - Do you get time off?? Working at home has its good and bad points. I know that first hand. Take time for yourself, too!
Shirley - Hunter is so blessed to have you! Don't you wonder how you ever worked and did all you did? Life just always brings us challenges and keeps us busy, doesn't it?
HODA - Sounds like your yoga class was full of renewal and refreshing for you. To God be the Glory!
MARGY - Welcome home and sweet dreams. Sorry you're having such long days. Good that you know to rest up. Hope the finger is okay.
Good Evening Eagle Buds! Been trying to catch up on most posts. Had to leave some work undone--will go in over weekend. Fingers gave out~~too much squeegeeing!
Need prayers for Sharon's friend, Kris.
Guess all the travelers are done for today! How cool everyone can write from the road!! Paula should be getting to Paradise~~~Lucky Duck! BTW, some animals we know haven't been seen for a long time, but today I saw Ms. Hoppy, the deer, at Chelsea! No one w/her. Her boy twins are now getting one prong horns, so they're probably hanging out w/the guys! ☺ No fawn---poor little sweetie probably didn't survive. Need coffee~~~
Okay, I have posted rat basketball, dinner at the Bass Pro Shop, and rainbows on my blog.
Thanks, Lynn, now I remember. You remembered that one much better than I did. Obviously, I did not know the answer. I could not even remember the question.
Yes, it is great to be able to blog and send pics on fb while traveling down the road. Love technology!!!
Thanks for all the welcomes home!
First thing we did was check the rain gauge. We have one of those "official" rain gauges. We ordered it on line. Anyway, we pour out 5.32 inches of rain. Wahoooo! Every thing looks good, very green....except where the grass died. St. Augustine grass does not come back after it dies!
Hi all I am finally back home. Got here once and got a phone call to go and meet. To see the newly 3 weeks old baby!!!!! Yes I am an Aunt and they call me Aunt Dana. The side of the family from my 1st marriage. Even Ed was connected with them. Her name is Violet born to two wonderful people. She weighs 7lbs. Daddy my nephews son) was told when married before when he went to see the doctor about having children. He ask the doctor, "So what does this mean I just have to try harder. Or we just have to relax". The doctor said, "Son you have a better chance of leaving my office and getting struck my lightening twice and also winning the lottery than having a child". So he believed he would never have children. That is one reason his wife left him. He mean't another girl and his Mom and I had been sending up many, many prayers for this son. GOD HAS BLESSED THEM!!!!! She is beautiful!!! I love the hugs I get and I told his girlfriend. "Honey your getting a hug from me cause your in the family now". She loved it and said I was the best. awww shucks of course her boyfriend which is my nephews son gives me lots of HUGS... ( : always has and I'm always Aunt Dana.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Lolly, glad you made it home safely! You sure work fast---trailer unloaded and laundry underway....so glad you got Annie home already. I'm sure she was happy to see you.
The trailer is completely unloaded and all the sheets, rugs and towels washed. Tomorrow, I scrub the inside! Then together we scrub the outside.
Sunday we are driving to Glen Rose. Dana, I am going to see my newest great nephew. Reece was born in August and they are up here for a wedding. I am excited about seeing him. He is my brothers grandson.
Yes, we hit the driveway and we go to work! LOL It is much easier that way and we are anxious to get the trailer out of the driveway and back to it's home.
I took Viotlet two little outfits. Her mother Whitney was so happy with them. She is such a down to earth person. Good mate for my nephews son. Him and her share such happiness. That is the kind of love that will continue to grow through time.
Also, I really do a lot of cleaning on the trailer. It has lasted us a long time and still looks great on the inside. I will also shampoo the carpet. We are hoping to get a new trailer in a couple of years. This one has to last. lol
Ok read this side of thread comments. Only have a few on other side of thread to read. Watching Tom right now...I GOT A DATE WITH HIM TOO LOL....See it is nice Eagle Momster SHARE LOL
What WONDERFUL news from Steve about the NCTC and nest visit YEAH !!!!!
I see the Sleepy Creek Eagle has been spotted by Mema Jo's Hedgesville gang again....YEAH what an exciting thing to happen!!!!!
Oh yes Shirley I would be worried about Hunter too. I know you and Kathryn will find a way to get through to Hunter. Not all people can be trusted. Like if someone is near a vehicle showing puppies or kittens. One I know a guy tried was he told the kids in the neighborhood "if you bike needs fixed just come to my van".
Margy I was in Martinsburg when over top of Out Back was this beautiful rainbow!!!!!
We will send you many pictures of the Nest Trip just as you did for us on your vacation. Sure did love all your pictures, Lolly - you all had some beautiful scenery !
It was fun sharing the pictures, Jo. And, I will look forward to seeing your pictures! Have fun! So really happy that you are being welcomed to the campus!
Good night to all turning in. I am not far behind. Another alarm clock morning ahead. UGH! Saw the moon rising....very pretty indeed. Shirley, did catch the video pon FB! Funny! Congrats, Aunt Dana! Lolly, do you have a vacuum cleaner that travels with you? I always did---and people made fun of me! Tori is apparently having a rough time this go-round. (((GROUP HUG to TORI and Robyn!!!))) Robyn posted a beautiful night pic of my city on FB! See you fine, fowl friends tomorrow. Peace and prayers for all.
We are having Municipal Elections here in November. The Canadian Federation of University Women is hosting a forum for the Candidates. They just contacted me to phone and invite the Council Members Candidates to attend the forum.I said I would. It is an exciting thing to do. There are three women I want elected to the Council and I have to learn about the rest.
LYNNE has not been on yet. I do not think she was planning to travel this weekend. PAULA I am glad you made a safe trip to the beach house. How is the water from the roof leak? Did the containers hold it all?
No, Lynn, do not take a vacuum cleaner. Not enough storage. Do have a hand held vacuum to us if needed. I sweep the small area of carpet and that does well. Then I vacuum and shampoo when I get home.
Heading to the shower now. I am pooped and my eyes are watering. When they start that it is time for bed.
Have a great weekend, Paula. Hope you see an eagle!
Do not think I told you...I think I saw a bear along side the road. Do not look intently at roadkill so I do not know for sure. BUT, it was too furry for a deer, did not see long legs, and it was too big for a dog or a coyote. Hmmm???
Did see one elk and lots of deer. Kept an eye to the sky but did not see many birds. Do think though, that the Ravens are taking over the earth...saw a lot of them!
Okay, I really need to end this. Can hardly see. Night all! Sweet dreams!
Sooo the interesting news of the evening is that some people think they have seen a UFO tonight over my development in Frederick County! My DIL called to let me know...
Hi, Everyone! It's getting kind of late, so thought I'd better get back here before it's tomorrow!
Judie, never fear! I would NEVER, EVER lock you out! Not a chance! You're in the eye-scanner AND the thumbprint-scanner security systems PERMANENTLY!
Lynn, that's great news that the overdosed student was revived! Hope they get the help they need to recover fully. Am agreeing with Jo & WV Dana in prayer.
Shirley, the Lisk-Silva case gives me chills! Praying for a legion of protecting angels for Hunter and his friends!
Lynn, extra prayers and ((HUGS)) for Tori & Robyn.
WV Dana, congratulations on becoming an Aunt! I bet Violet is a little doll. Isn't God wonderful?! What a miracle!
Welcome home, Lolly, Jack, and Annie kitty! There's no place like home, is there?!
Paula, glad that you & Nick are safe in Paradise! Sleep well! Hope your containers held all the water from the ceiling leak!
Shirley, thanks for turning on the night light for Judie. I'm making sure the porch light is on. Have said prayers for everyone, and for every creature. Sweet dreams! God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you! :o] (Emma and Kubby say ZZzzzzzz.....)
P.S.--Lolly, I don't remember whether I congratulated you when Reese was born, or not--so congratulations, just in case I didn't! Bet he's a cutie, too! G'night!
I finished reading comments on this page of comments, don't think I can stay awake long enough to read anymore tonight...tomorrow:)
JO, I am so happy that Steve is letting us into NCTC grounds. Judy will love having lunch in the TREE TOPS:) Have always enjoyed their food and selections. Nothing quite like seeing the nest up close! Gene will be watching the shop, so count me in!!
Family Friday was a little short on FAMILY. It was only me and GG. We had an unusual supper...Baked French Fries and Egg Drop Soup and fresh pineapple. GG said it was the best party she has ever had with her daughter:)!
SHIRLEY, I wouldn't worry too much about Hunter...he could talk his way out of a dangerous situation;) Gotta love that boy!
MARGY, sorry your day was long and tiring. So was mine...phone calls and paper work. I must have talked to every PEGGY in the business world!:) Wish you had come to GG's and partied with us...made me forget all about PEGGY!!
LOLLY, hope all the rain that fell on HAWKWOOD didn't come too late for your Pecan Trees, maybe they will come back and produce well next year. How did the flowers look? Any new armadillo burrows?
Now it is only 11:17 PM my time so it is really not very late, but I could not sleep so I came back to the blog and had to check the time and my eyes and doubted my comprehension...UFO'S PAULA!!! This is good. I have to hear more about this...I loved your introduction to the story "sooooo the interesting news is..."I hope your DIL phones again this weekend so I do not have to wait till Monday to find out what was sited and by whom!!! I always say "consider the source" before I believe anything...this certainly applies here LOL !!!
Google tells me that the last tiem there was an UFO sighting in Emmitsburg Md was in September 1975...!!! Now I really am curious to find out about what happened there last night.
It is some kind of beautiful Sky out there ! Moon and lots of constellations, Orion etc, and bright Jupiter ahead of the Moon as they head to bed in the West
Got up at 4:15 but knew there would be no one here.
Beautiful morning! I thought about you, Margy, while out looking at the sky. The winds have made it so clear and pretty. Of course, those wind generated negative ions can make people a bit cranky so be careful!
I just know how close and cozy Jupiter and the Moon must have been a couple of days ago when they were covered up with the clouds...would have been something to see! Have to wait another month to see that again
So excited to read that we can go to the nest and meet JUDYE, but don't know if I can be there by 11. I'll have to ask someone for EASIEST directions from Rockville and just come right after work.
Margy, trying to finish up the dog tugs for the rescue to take with them to the SeaWitch Festival in Rehobath at the end of the month. I just want to clean things up. I will still have more to do, but I'll just pull out the fabric I need and get them ready to braid and put the rest away.
maybe Paula will see one or two Ospreys that decided to stick around for one more visit from her...Hope So! Either way, hope Paula sees lots and lots of neat wildlife things, and gets all her Big Lots and Goodwill treasures settled in
Oh OH, Robin is chirping on the bird clock a couple of minutes ahead of time for the 7 o'clock spot... guess I better start shaking a couple of legs here
Margy, I think you may be working today but if not, I hope the beeper gets laryngitis.
Shirley, I'm sure Hunter will know what to do but also hope you and Kathryn upped the chat level.
Wanda, the dinner menu at GG's was unusual but the result is the same -- Mom and daughter having a memorable time together.
Paula, know you and Nick will have a fun beach weekend.
That's as caught up as I am so far. Today is more research on bullying -- causes and interventions. Will be Tuesday's topic.
Hope Kay is feeling better and better every day and Dennis will be up and around soon, and Hoda is enjoying her yoga.
We don't have a camera or a camera phone so no panther pictures. However, if you look at Bob Quinn's new addition, you will be looking at the panthers.
Thank you for not changing the locks and to Andy for my permanent security clearance.
Okay, now to find some coffee and begin my research.
Much to do around here. I need to get things tidied up before bridge on Wednesday.
Okay, is this reasonable for fencing?
110 feet of chain link
100 feet of treated pine
1 double gate (drive gate)
1 single gate (walk gate)
posts set in cement
total cost (including posts, installation, etc.)--$3067
They want half up front and the other half upon completion--that's pretty normal.
I had expected it to be 2,000-3,000.
As I said, it was over $6,000 for vinyl. Yikes! Others have told me that it would be twice as expensive as wood, and, of course, the neighbors already have wood fencing as it is.
Kathryn is making arrangements for us to go spend the weekend with some friends at the river--or the "rivah" as they call it. Lots of osprey there, so I hear.
Wish I could join you all for the 24th, but it would complicate things here.
Good morning Eagle Dudettes and Dudes. Very windy here, 52°....not relishing the idea of sitting outside for 4 hrs. :(
Early birds are probably snozzing again---except for Margy at work! Hope that she and Carolyn and the other 2 at Central have a quiet day....it's Apple Harvest Festival day---parade, etc.!
In case anyone missed my info a few weeks ago re: Pooks Moose Cam....she is now using YouTube rather than putting pics on her blog. Here is the link: Pooks videos
SIL and his bro are supposed to be coming to repair the privacy fence today. Sure hope that the planned re-inforcement prevents any more catastrophe's with it.
Gotta check out my Scrabble games. I have found some people who are giving me tough competition, so I have to stay on top of things. Yeah, I have been demolished a few times.
UFO over Emmitsburg??? Cool!!!! Sure hope there's more info on that soon! Speaking of space junk: BEWARE!!! The ROSAT X-ray observatory, launched in 1990 by NASA and managed for years by the German Aerospace Center (DLR), will return to Earth within the next two weeks. Current best estimates place the re-entry between Oct. 22nd and 24th over an unknown part of Earth. Although ROSAT is smaller and less massive than UARS, which grabbed headlines when it re-entered on Sept. 24th, more of ROSAT could reach the planet's surface. This is because the observatory is made of heat-tolerant materials. According to a DLR study, as many as 30 individual pieces could survive the fires of re-entry. The largest single fragment would likely be the telescope's mirror, which is very heat resistant and may weigh as much as 1.7 tons.
Loretta, it would be great if you could "sneak" up for the 24th! Just tell Frank that you are going! Remember, as the old saying goes, you are free and over 21!
Thelma, you are a woman of few words!!! Are you going to Bedford with Shar this weekend?? I'm sure you have friends there you want to see, too, right??!!
I thought so, too, Lynn. I need to read the contract carefully. He said there is a 2-year warranty. If a board bends or something, they will replace it.
I mentioned the cussin' fence company and he knew exactly who I was talking about and said that he had bought a fence from them, and that when he needed a repair they were ugly to him.
Funny thing is that they have installed a lot of fences in this neighborhood.
Haven't read back but just a few posts....hope all is well!
SOOOOO busy at work yesterday, came home and cleaned cleaned cleaned, and then CRASHED!
Got up early this morning and took the dogs for a long long play and run and walkabout, the brought them in and went back out with some instant Cappuccino and my binos and looked for birds. Saw 2 bluebirds, a bunch of crows, bluejays, ROBINS!
MIL is in town and we are leaving now to go down to her friend Kathy's to meet up, they are taking us to lunch!
I'll HOPEFULLY get to catch up later this evening! Hope everyone has a good day...sure is pretty out!
hee hee hee he had to run back upstairs and now I have a second to say that the Monarch chrysalis I brought that was ready to emerge...it did just an hour later! Steve was able to let it go at lunchtime yesterday for me!
Have an interesting story! Friend who teaches at local school, our alternative high school, posted on fb....on Friday they saw out the window a young momma bobcat with two kits. That is just awesome! The school is in town, but backs up to a wooded area.
Mema Jo Wanted you and others that know our one of the first MOMSTERS Belle. That I just got off the phone with her. We had a grand talk. I brought her up to date about Liberty. She said to tell everyone Hi!.
LOLLY, how was your first night back at your home roost?
Sounds like the sschool needs a trail cam:) Very exciting for the students, and teacher too, I would think. I know that Bob-Cats are a nuisance to farmers in Texas, but, they are so beautiful!
APPLE HARVEST PARADE here in Martinsburg today...our shop always suffers, on this day because there are so many fun things going on in town. Business should pick up on Monday:)
A quick comment, then I must get busy. I keep seeing this ad for an on-line dating service. Picture of a nice-looking guy. Says "Faithful WOMEN wanted." He wants several? Really? Hmmm.

I am back - guess where I was??? How did you know I was getting a haircut?
The rain has stopped and the sun is
actually shinning out there. I guess the
wind blew the rain clouds away and also blew a lot of leaves off the trees.
Going to try my luck again at NCTC & then put my feet up - Are you ready
KAY???
JO, I'm with you ! Should be sawing logs in about 15 minutes ! You don't need beauty sleep after the new do and a waxing, but I sure do !!!!!
Jim, there's a new update on Pimu--looking good back in her enclosure; found some old bones, bands and wing markerwhich apparenrtly date back to K-16 in '04; Cormorant and Osprey video; great pics from research activity at Santa Cruz;
Gee, guy---you really should GO out there and then YOU can report to us!!!
Linda, sounds like a fairly good first day! Glad you ate, too!! Must take care of the caregiver, gal!
LOL, Jo----you told us yesterday you were getting a haircut!
lol Lynn - I know but I think it is funny (ha ha) that you reminded me!
NCTC VISITATION ALERT
JUDY JUDY - PLEASE READ
Sorry Jo, been out sick
The 24th would be fine.
You can arrange exact times with Marie Brady, an ornithologist who is interning here and will be your host while you are here.Maybe come by at 11:00 or so, see the nest and then go to lunch? We'll need names for security. thanks, Steve
For those of you who have been before - Thelma's name was on the email also.
OK I will get names and submit them next week to Steve & Maria for Security.
Excellent news, Jo!! Good on you, as Hoda says!!! I'll go ahead and text Judy for you to at least let her know that it's a go!
Ok---message sent to Judy.
A bit ticked off....Dr./office never called back with my CT results. So now it will be Monday. ARGH!
Wahoo ! So thrilled about Steve's affirmative answer. Youse guys are going to have a blast ! Wish I had the stamina to join the fun. Will set my sights on April ! We'll all be a little older and wiser by then and that can't hurt ! ☺
Thank you so much, Lynn! She sure will get your text before she gets my message
on her phone. She should be in NC now or
soon. Now she can relax knowing she can go to the nest and gift shop.Oh yeah and to lunch.
Let us know when she texts you back, Lynn! Thanks.
DanaMo - you going to get a substitute
for the 24th! Oh how I wish you could.
Anyone who can come - email me !
GREAT NEWS ON THE NEST VISIT!!
Heading home, then to the beach...will check in later!
Have a good evening!
Hi Judie,
We would love to see the panthers. If you can put a picture on e-mail, I will post it on my blog for you.
Dog hair is floating everywhere. I guess I better vacuum.
Happy weekend everyone!
Mema Jo-I took the day off on the 24th I am all set!!!
Hey Kay, you have waited long enough for results. If I were you I would call and demand that someone let you know what the result showed!
I was on the phone with Hedgesville GD -
The eagle has been sighted again - flying around and around but didn't land in the tree. Has to be the Sleepy
Creek eagle..........
DanaMo---no Sat. hrs. at Drs. :(
Can't believe that they ignore a professional's request for a call---what an insult! Can't pick up stuff at hospital on weekends, either.
I will be at Drs. front desk Mon. as soon as I get out of the meeting I have to go to in the morning.
Paula---sun out here, so hope it is for you on the way to the beach!!
Wow! DanaMo - that is great!
Paula maybe you can get freed up on the 24th? Enjoy your weekend.
DINNER TIME HERE BBL
Posted a picture of the two little dogs Flash met on our walk. One of them reminds me of Liesl.
SHIRLEY, cute little doxies !
Time for dinner prep, the news, Jeopardy.....
May be back later, but if not, prayers for all in need and best wishes for a great weekend Eagle Buds !
Cannot believe the way the leaves are coming down. :(
Can see things I haven't seen since May! Like the mess the loggers have left in the back....and more of the neighboring junked yard. I'll be blowing leaves the whole week before the beach trip.
I have some other pictures from the weekend, but I need to find my camera and download them.
Hmm, think my camera is in a pocket in my purse.
Just ordered pizza and a few other things for dinner.
Of course, he said that he could call me or the police if he had a cell phone. Yes, that is a good point . . .
Cute pups, Shirley! Thanks for sharing.
Jo, so glad the kids have seen the eagle again! I, too, bet it's from the Sleepy Creek gang!!
DanaMo----golf tourney's usually feed them dinner!
Shirley....kids will come up with a hundred reasons why they should have a cell phone!
Yep, I remember the Lisk-Silva case.
Hi, Everyone,
Well, I got quite a bit of transcription sent back to the Dr.'s office today.
Hello Evening Eagle Pals
Wondering if anyone saw the beautiful skies as sunset approached.
I saw the most amazing rainbow.
Interesting, the most torrential rainfall last night, followed this evening by the most spectacular rainbow...
two powerful extremes
Great work, Jo.... and great response from Steve...
Thank You!
Good to read of everyone's day...
hope the evening will be a good one
This bird is headed to bed very soon...was a long and tiring day at work
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ♥
Going to watch an 8:00 show on TV
BBILW
Good evening everyone.
Have to catch up but Jo it was Shirley who told me about Mema moon. I took it from there....
No disrespect intended. Love ya Jo. Who named this moon??
Jeopardy is over. Did not know the final answer. Getting dumber as I age. Jim is done with his shower it's time to join him in the living room.
This d@#% copmputer! It's a real small laptop and what mistakes I don't make it does! HA! Have to blame something.
bbl
Diane, I am trying to remember what the final question was. I have already forgotten. Geesh!
Diann, do you have a netbook? I had that once, and my youngest has one now....neither of us were happy with them. TOO small!
Shirley, the question was Bolivia! I did not know it, either. :(
Jo----fire at Old South Mountain Inn.....MTBR....
Jo---I think Washington Co. cancelled the mutual aid call, so guess the fire wasn't anything significant.
Maybe a new chef in the kitchen....♥
Lynn, the question was Bolivia. Hmm, there has to be something else.
Whoo Hoo! Thank goodness Liesl is going on vacation! I sure hope she likes
the beach sand on her paws. ♥
Oh---some good news...the school bus overdose that Carolyn's friend told her about was revived!!!! Surely praying that they get him/her into a good rehab.
Speaking of rainbows, Shirley has been getting beautiful pics of them and even
double rainbows. They are really special
Lynn - I pray that the young student who almost experienced death will want to make a new start with some support and lots of help.
Actually, I think one of the Lisk girls might have been a pre-teen. Their mother teaches at the community college where I have taught classes.
I should bring the rainbow pictures over here.
Home again home again jiggity jog!
No word from Lolly yet.
There's Lolly!
Welcome home! Happy to hear you've made it back to your roost and all is well with Angie!!
Oops.......Annie!!
Only thing is, you must have RAIN in order to have a rainbow! lol
Helllllloooooooooo Lolly, Jack & Annie
Glad you are home and all is well!
Lynn I have seen other double rainbow pics over on FB All of them are really beautiful........ ♥
Still have pictures from the mine I have not yet posted.
Hi Lolly!! I hope you find your gardens well watered.
Almost time for my Friday night date with Tom!
Lynn - sent you email
Look at it before your man Tom comes
on at 10:00
If you can - look at the Owlets
Laurel just called and we have been gabbing!
Well Aunt Dana it sounds like you have a marvelous evening! ♥
Shirley....was commenting on the photos....went back to watch the video---and it was gone...????
Played with Maukie, too!
Lolly I know how you feel. It is so exciting and wonderful. You look at them and are just amazed at God Creation.
This one has to last. lol
That is odd, Lynn. The video is still there. I am trying to upload it on FB, but it is taking forever.
I see the Sleepy Creek Eagle has
been spotted by Mema Jo's Hedgesville gang again....YEAH what an exciting thing to happen!!!!!
Oh yes Shirley I would be worried
about Hunter too. I know you and
Kathryn will find a way to get
through to Hunter. Not all people
can be trusted. Like if someone
is near a vehicle showing puppies
or kittens. One I know a guy tried
was he told the kids in the neighborhood "if you bike needs fixed just come to my van".
Margy I was in Martinsburg when over top of Out Back was this beautiful rainbow!!!!!
Ha Ha funny and cute Diann blame the computer LOL
Oh thank God for the comment of the kid that did the overdose was revived!! I pray that there was no damage caused to his brain or
organs. Yes prayers he gets GOOD counseling!!
Mema Jo I like your prayer and comment about this young student...praying with you
Lolly your HOME!!! LOL love that Annie is purring so much awwwwwww cute. Lolly a few of my pictures on FB where I went to Colordo
is from Silverton.
Prayers for the child who overdosed on the bus. It is good to hear that there seems to be hope.
Well, now I am jealous....big time!! Just read back and see that a group of you are going to NCTC!!!!!! Wahhhhhhhhhhh! I wanna go, too!
We will send you many pictures of the Nest Trip just as you did for us on your vacation. Sure did love all your
pictures, Lolly - you all had some beautiful scenery !
I know it isn't even 11:00 BUT I am going to close down the computer...
Good night Friends
Prayers for all our needs and prayers of
thankfulness that Dennis is home.
Hugs for all ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Missing LYNNE tonight......
LYNNE - Hope all is okay with you. Looking forward to hearing from you!
It was fun sharing the pictures, Jo. And, I will look forward to seeing your pictures! Have fun! So really happy that you are being welcomed to the campus!
Watched some nest preparations videos on you tube tonight at the Decorah nest. Sure wish we could watch some of that at NCTC. Hopefully soon......
Well dear friends, it is time for me to head upstairs.
Wishing you all restful sleep and sweet dreams.
Hoping to hear PAULA made it safely to her paradise tonight, JUDYE arrived to her destination this evening and LYNNE checks in soon!
May God Bless and Protect us all and the critters we so dearly love
Night.... xoxo ♥♥♥
Time to wind it down tonight. I will see you tomorrow. Turning on the night light just in case Judie doesn't make it back tonight. God bless.
At the beach! Whoo hoo! See Lolly is home too..nice pretty moon tonight...wind is whipping
Oops~~starting to doze in the chair. Maybe a short nap will allow me to watch my soap repeat!
On at midnight now! BOO
That NCTC meeting sounds great!! And it's my day off. Now if only I could sneak out! Have to use some friendly diplomacy!!
Time to go--been working on a couple Chelsea pics.
Prayers for all ailing, and Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
See Paula checked in from Paradise.
Night everyone prayers for that need them whether people or Gods creatures.
Welcome home DANa. Glad you had a very good trip.
I will say goodnight now and God Bless us one and all.
Sweet Dreams.
G'night!
It's very late but I didn't want to go to my chair without wishing everyone a restful night.
I'm about to do a 'faceplant' so goodnight friends and God bless.
SHIRLEY, I wouldn't worry too much about Hunter...he could talk his way out of a dangerous situation;)
Gotta love that boy!
Bedtime for me...
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Wanda that sound like a nice dinner ...just you and GG..
Margy hope your next work days are better
Hoda sound like you really enjoy all the volunteer work

Just turned off the phone alarms..I am sleeping in!

Oh and Nick is very happy to be back at the beach too :)
Nite all
{{{Hugs for all}}}
Now it is only 11:17 PM my time so it is really not very late, but I could not sleep so I came back to the blog and had to check the time and my eyes and doubted my comprehension...UFO'S PAULA!!!
Good morning. I am not sure why I am up at 5:45 on a Saturday, oh wait, I do know, it's the Flying Labs!
Looks like everyone else is sleeping in, maybe I should go back to bed!!
Good Morning Eagle Pals...
It is some kind of beautiful Sky out there ! Moon and lots of constellations, Orion etc, and bright Jupiter ahead of the Moon as they head to bed in the West
looking forward to hearing more about the possible UFO in Paula's Maryland Paradise ...
DanaMo - how did, or did, the Golf Tourney go Friday for Monte ?
Enjoy your Saturday DanaMo...I hope you have a whole lot of Nothing you can enjoy doing on your week-end...
but I know a Woman's Work is never done !
Gold tournament went well. Weather had cleared by the time they hit the links. I think it was quite successful.
enjoyed all the Rainbow posts from last night....
Like Jo says, you gotta have Rain to have a Rainbow...
throw in a little Sun, and Wowser !
"Gold tournament" really??? Golf tournament...must be too early to be typing!
Gold tournament, eh? That DOES sound successful! Just teasin'
Glad it worked out well....
I'm really happy for you Dana, that you have Monday Oct 24 off!
Sounds like the plans are firming up nicely !!!
Check all your pockets and things for loose change, and plan for some treasures at the Gift Shop!
Good Morning MARGY & DanaMO!
I just betcha those Eagles are going to be enjoying this kind of day at NCTC....
Good Morning Morning GLori ! ☼ ☺ ♥
What's on YOUR dance card today, Lori ?
So excited to read that we can go to the nest and meet JUDYE, but don't know if I can be there by 11. I'll have to ask someone for
EASIEST directions from Rockville and just come right after work.
I have to try to make post # 339
nope I missed it...
just a sentimental number for a friend of mine..his fire dept monitor number ☺
probably I-70 to 340 to Charles Town and then we can tweek it from there Lori...
Margy, trying to finish up the dog tugs for the rescue to take with them to the SeaWitch Festival in Rehobath at the end of the month. I just want to clean things up. I will still have more to do, but I'll just pull out the fabric I need and get them ready to braid and put the rest away.
And, YOU, MARGY??
DanaMO, what will you be doing today?
Oh, MARGY! I wish 330 were more than a friend. He must be married or he would snap you up in a second!
I'm working, Loriat 8, ....this is my Friday...
but I have the beep beep beeper this week, am on call
ooops, #339, Margy.
Thanks Lori...nope, he's single...
oh well...
but you never can tell ☺
Happy Friday, Margy. That's such a good feeling knowing the next day is ALL yours! Well, minus the beeper.
Loriat 8
that looks funny, would be
Lori at 8
me working that is...
Have Lynn's Carolyn with us today...
she does all the work ☺
SINGLE? Well, he must not know you're available. I know a whole bunch of eagle lovin' ladies who would love to tell him! :)
I worked my fingers to the bone yesterday, we were really busy working one person short, but today we have four, thank goodness !!
maybe Paula will see one or two Ospreys that decided to stick around for one more visit from her...Hope So!
Either way, hope Paula sees lots and lots of neat wildlife things, and gets all her Big Lots and Goodwill treasures settled in
Oh OH, Robin is chirping on the bird clock a couple of minutes ahead of time for the 7 o'clock spot...
guess I better start shaking a couple of legs here
Nice evening report from Wanda ☺
and hope to see Happy Things on here from folks today
WELCOME HOME LOLLY AND JACK !
Prayers for Sharons' friend Kris...
and for all with Big Health Needs...
Best wishes for a Good Day Everyone...
xoxo ☺ ♥
Shirley
I think I can check out all your new pictures from work, and will try to do so, then go oooh and aaah when I see them
ttfn xoxo
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ♥
Have a great day, great Friday, Margy!!! Glad it will be easier today than yesterday.
Good morning eagle momsters and dadsters.
I need to see our eagles. (really bad)
Gotta go, will catch you all on the flip side. Make a great day.
Pancakes and sausage being served this morning.
Good morning!
Glad Jack and Lolly made a safe trip home.
BBL
Good morning!
A real chill in the air here this morning.
Wish I could join you all for the
24th, but it would complicate things here.
That will be this coming weekend, not today and tomorrow.
Judie, CNN is showing a very good documentary on bullying right now.
Anti-Bullying Program
I watched it last night.
Hey, maybe you could get Anderson Cooper as a guest speaker.
Here is the link:

Wanda, your dinner with GG sounded good!
Loretta, it would be great if you could "sneak" up for the 24th! Just tell Frank that you are going! Remember, as the old saying goes, you are free and over 21!
Good Morning!
Sounds like many are up and moving early this Saturday morning.
It's windy and 47° here, but the sun is shining so far. May have some showers later, so I guess the skies won't stay so clear!
Thelma, you are a woman of few words!!! Are you going to Bedford with Shar this weekend?? I'm sure you have friends there you want to see, too, right??!!
Still haven't heard from our LYNNE!
Hope she checks in today....
I think I will get the sheets started in the washer.
DanaMo--I want your breakfast!!
I'm having toast w/ PB and apple butter. :(
Shirley, yes...the fencing price sounds reasonable.
Thanks for the moose link, Lynn. Pretty garden.
I would have quite a shock if I saw something like that in my yard.
Saw a beautiful view of Jupiter and the moon a couple of nights ago, Margy.
Lynne we love you and miss you.
Yeah, Lynne, what T-bird said! Hope everything is okay!! Are we going to have to send out a red alert on you, too???!!!!
Time for me to shut 'er down and finish getting ready to get out of here. Hope everyone has a good Sat. See you much later this afternoon.
Kathryn is off to turn in metal. The things we do around here to get a few dollars!
Definitely missing Lynne.
Lynne, Lynne, where are you?
Want to hear more about Paula's UFO.
Just Flash and me here now. Kathryn took Luna along for the ride to the scrap metal place.
Hunter spent the night with a friend and will go from there to visit his dad.
Judie, wish you had a camera. I have had lots of fun with mine.
I'M HERE!!!! NO RED ALERT NEEDED!
Funny how many of the names that show up on Kathryn and Rus's FB are former students of mine.
Of course, they went to the high school where I once taught. I just keep seeing familiar names on their comments.
Yay! Lynne is here!
OH...good news! I have lost TEN POUNDS!!!!
oh shoot...her comes the Steve the buzzkill ready to head out the door.....UGH! My hair isn't even dry!!!!
BBL!

UH OH....here he comes again.....BYE!!!

Congratulations, Lynne!!
BBL. Need to get myself spruced up for the day.
Good morning! Wahoooo, Lynne! You are doing great....10 pounds! Keep it up!
Oh, and I found 4 of those pounds on our trip. It was an orgy of good food and wine. I see "diet" for the next few weeks.
UFO, huh? Hmmmmmmm???? This could be interesting!
Have an interesting story! Friend who teaches at local school, our alternative high school, posted on fb....on Friday they saw out the window a young momma bobcat with two kits. That is just awesome! The school is in town, but backs up to a wooded area.
Hi Everyone I'm on the run again today. Just finished in my emails.
So I won't have time to catch up on this side of this thread.
I miss talking to all of you. (((HUGS))
Mema Jo Wanted you and others that know our one of the first MOMSTERS Belle. That I just got off the phone with her. We had a grand talk. I brought her up to date about Liberty. She said to tell everyone Hi!.
Lynne....Annie gained a pound while we were gone. She is now at 11 pounds, she really looks good!
GOOD MORNING...
Breakfast time here. See you all this evening~
A quick comment, then I must get busy. I keep seeing this ad for an on-line dating service. Picture of a nice-looking guy. Says "Faithful WOMEN wanted." He wants several? Really? Hmmm.
Well got to go everyone take care.
