Okay Lori...will give that some serious thought!
Thank you !!

Good morning!

Love your rainbow pictures, Margy. I left a comment there for you.

I see we will have split by the time I finish this post.

Lori O. said...

Margy, those are GORGEOUS rainbow pics...so pretty with all the clouds. Looks like professional photos! I'd blowup that one with all the clouds that's not so close up. Beautiful.

Lori O. said...

Good Morning Shirley!
I meant to tell you sounds like a good price for all your fencing. I had vinyl for my horse turnouts in California and it was costly, but just wash it off and never paint it. But the biggest reason I did it was so that my horse and her babies couldn't hurt themselves on it.

magpie said...

can't stay parked here on my Gluteus Maximus...is making my left hand tingly and numb, typical, due to sciatica problem...
At work, we have desk trays that rise up and down, I can stand up there and work, wish I could do that here..
So.....

Best Wishes for a Glorious Sunday, Everyone...
will "See" you later on
have tons of things to take care of here, but might have to start with a short nap
xoxo ♥

magpie said...

Thanks Shirley and Lori
and Shirley
I visited your pictures too...
Loved Them !
Maybe we were seeing the same rainbow at the same time ☺

Also, how about that!! you saw Jupiter and Moonie earlier in the week...

chewable vitamins...yuck Margy!

magpie said...

DanaMo...☺
just can't stand taking those big hard vitamin caps anymore!
and the calcium ones, were giving me headaches and bloatedness, I hope this changes with the chewables

DanaMo said...

I agree too Shirley. I think that is a good price...that's for wood right?
I saw one of those swing chairs that is stand alone at the Market in Hagerstown, it was made of that vinyl wood look alike and it was almost $800! I couldn't believe it. It was beautiful, but REALLY?

DanaMo said...

I hope it works for you Margy. I'm so bad, my doctor said I should take the calcium and iron as well, but I don't...She even gave me a scrip for the iron..I'm not good at following doctors orders, or any orders for that matter!

Hoda said...

Good morning all.
Busy day here today.
yoga and groceries this mroning and in the afternoon an opportunity to attend an Anusara Yoga workshop came up and I took it...so four hours of Yoga this afternoon with a bunch of twenty somethings...I'll let you know how it goes. BBL

stronghunter said...

Jupiter and the moon were beauteous, Margy. And so are your rainbow pics. Very interesting cloud formations and you captured them beautifully.

About half of my yard is fenced with wood, thanks to my neighbors, Lori. I thought about vinyl and considered going with something entirely different--picket fencing or something like that.

I would not need tall fences to restrain basset hounds, but I really think a tall fence would restrain George, and he is creating serious problems in the house.

I could probably let him out under supervision. Maybe it would help just to let him explore the yard. I could even get some cat fencing if necessary. He is peeing in very inappropriate places. I have had him checked by the vet, and we are quite sure it is behavioral.

I have been waiting long enough to get this fence. I need to just do it. If I do not spend a fortune on vinyl fences, I might be able to afford a deck. I would like that, too. Fencing and a deck would give us more space to spread out and keep critters from underfoot.

Lori, McNabb was OUR QB last year!!! We are definitely hoping that there are enough dog loving Skins to WANT to torture Vick!

Margy, so glad you didn't get called in today!! Hope it stays that way!

Need to clarify----Darth hooked up the modem , but didn't have it working!!

stronghunter said...

Maybe I haven't read back far enough, but I do not know where you are getting the information about Judie's computer.

hedgie said...

No, DanaWV, don't know who you are referring to at Roger's. I haven't been in there in MANY years.

Margy, I am a little ambidextrous---varying degrees of adeptness with some activities. I tried using the mouse on the left, but never got comfortable with it. You do have to go into control panel/mouse and change the setting for which button to use...and it's confusing to get used to! But you could do that and try frequent clicking with your middle finger still on the right hand.

Lori, what a sweet offer to Margy!!

Margy, why can't you do laptop??

hedgie said...

MArgy----asked you a question on your pics---will re-ask here....would you like me to enter your LOVELY rainbow pics in Glo's Fall Photo contest???? Bet you could win!!

stronghunter said...

Ok, I just found it. Judie called Lynn and reported a feline event that messed up the modem.

Lynne2 said...

hi all!

Lynn, great idea to enter Margy's beautiful rainbows!

Poor Judie...hope she can get back online soon, and that she forgives the poor cat...

stronghunter said...

I was fortunate that my laptop was closed the day George barfed on it. It was still a messy clean-up job, but it could have been so much worse.

Cats pick the dangdest places to do that.

Mema Jo said...

Good Afternoon - I am getting ready to
head out for a few hrs. Good to see all
of you here! I'll be back and then
will check in.

Enjoy your day - beautiful as it is....

BBL ♥

hedgie said...

Margy, I KNOW you meant that sitting is making your leg/foot numb!!
I like the chewable gummy vitamins! Kids got me onto those.
Margy, split the calcium into two doses and it may not cause you as much trouble. (lower dosage twice a day. Don't cut them!) Just make sure they have the D in them!

Lynne2 said...

Shirley, so sorry George is having behavior issues. He may very well love having the yard to explore!

I had a dog run at a previous residence. I got a harness for my cat Spot and a light long leash supplemented in length with some closeline. I'd put her out on it when I was outside and she loved it! Maybe you could rig something up like that for George in the meantime! Get a dog stake, a harness for him and some line and see if he likes the outdoors! I just found Spot's old harness while organizing last week and I think I'll be rigging up Brother! and I have my old little fella dog Scrappy's harness which should fit Joker and I may do the same for him! Not going to be so easy around here due to the neighbors letting their dogs run amok and the one up in the garage apt. would surely try to kill them, but I'll figure something out...maybe in the dog field where they can't get in....

Lynne2 said...

You could strategically scatter a few pieces of kibble or some treats around for him to "hunt". we do that with the dogs up at my MILs!

Lynne2 said...

DanaMo, PUH_LEEEEEZ.....of course you can't keep up with a 16 year old track runner. BUT WHOA GIRL!!! What 48 year old woman could keep up with YOU!!!!! CONGRATS on your best time ever!!

DanaWV, too funny, the story about the Mastiff!

stronghunter said...

George loves to go outdoors. But he likes to eat grass, and that makes him throw up. Maybe if he stays out long enough, he will get his fill of that. I have investigated some interesting cat enclosures, etc.

I would need to move the bird feeder if he stays out much unless he is in a cat enclosure.

The front yard would need to be the spot for birds.

Lynne2 said...

Joker does the same thing...when he has escaped. He also makes a point to try to eat my houseplants and then he throws that up as well. God only knows why these silly animals do these things!

hedgie said...

Almost time for me to head out.
BBL!

GO SKINS!!

Lynne2 said...

Nature on PBS tonight...I'm looking forward to this one!

Crows and face recognition on PBS Nature tonight!

stronghunter said...

George lurks by the door when we let the dogs out and escapes if it is at all possible. But he does not usually go far.

He stops to sniff around and munch on grass.

Once he did go into a neighbor's yard and when I tried to get him, he growled and hissed so much that I got the cat carrier and scooted him into that.

I left him confined for awhile that time.

stronghunter said...

There have been plenty of times when I have been doing things outdoors that I would love to have George out there with me if he would not wander off or run after another cat.

stronghunter said...

Sounds like a very interesting program, Lynne. Always heard that crows are very intelligent.

I might give an alarm signal if I saw one of those guys walking down the street, too.

stronghunter said...

Touchdown, Eagles. Shucks.

stronghunter said...

George also likes to play in the snow.

stronghunter said...

Yes, Lynne. I got a nice little houseplant when I retired, but George would not leave it alone. I put it in an out-of-the way spot where he couldn't get to it.

Since I have forgotten to water it, it is not doing well.

Good afternoon dear Eagle Buds ! Had a great evening and half day with Seth before trying to catch up with you and your posts.

Boy, howdy, I'm almost glad most of my kids and grands are allergic to cats after reading about all the upchucking in inconvenient spots---as if there is a convenient spot for that ! ☺

LYNN, congrats on your insurance victory---lesson---you CAN fight "city hall" and should !

LORI, so glad your own vet is going to take a look at the kitties and assess what it means for the whole menagerie.

MARGY, was able to post on your blog re:rainbow pics. They are "plumb beautotious" as my ol' Uncle Clifford used to say. Great offer by LORI ! It isn't a laptop and sounds like just the ticket for you.

DANAMO, you and my dil are matching shoppers. I hate to shop and hate the "return game" even more ! Girl, please rethink your tendancy to ignore doctor's orders ! If he/she thinks you need supplements that are vital to good health, you need to take them. My philosophy is, taking care of my health is one of the most important things I can do to show my kids how much I love them. I never want them to say "why didn't she take care of herself ?" My sister and I agonized over that when we lost our dear mother far too early. In spite of that, Karen turned around and neglected signs of trouble so that her husband, kids and I suffered even more sadness when she died at 53. Your exercise routine is admirable, but won't do a bit of good if your health fails due to other necessary ingredients. I'm jus' sayin' Mama Kay loves you kiddo !

I hope you are all having a great weekend..

Hello KAY & Jim!

LYNN, I know McNabb was our QB for that game last year. Can't remember if that was before or after they gave him all the money and the lengthy contract. I bet you remember! :)

SHIRLEY, Kate and I have been looking at cat enclosures, too. She's been looking at & likes www.catsondeck.com (Cats On Deck).
Some of the cat enclosures we've seen are soooo expensive. These are do-able.

Lori O. said...

KAY, glad you're having a good day!
How was your Seth and Malcolm visit? How is KF Judie's family doing?

DanaMo said...

"Mamma Kay" thank you! You are very sweet. I just really have a hard time taking medication. Partly I forget whether or not I have taken it and then once I get out of the habit...well then it becomes the new habit. Then the iron has "side effects" that I don't like, and the calcium well, I drink lots of milk! I know excuses. Lots of them. I have tried to be better, but when I don't see the benefit it is hard to take them.

I do like to nap though, and I think I might take one right now. :)

DanaMo said...

Lynne 2 yes I know...but in my mind I'm 16! LOL!

I drove today and will drive again in the afternoon but it will not be a problem.

DANAMO Great jog with a 16 year old!!! OH MY I am out of breath just reading about it.

Love MARGY'S pictures.

The fence at SHIRLEY'S seems like it is doable and it will happen and maybe even a deck to go with it...Keeping it all affordable is the benefit of comparison shopping.

LYNN, I went from the gymnists to ABC where the Indy cars in Vegas were at a stand still and drivers were still being extracted from cars. As the copter bearing Wheldon lifted off there was an ominous feeling. Couldn't pull myself away from the coverage til' the 5 lap tribute was over. A sad day in racing history.

LYNNE, thanks for pointing me toward the crows ! Why ugh ? I found it utterly fascinating and will never look at or hear a crow again without a sense of awe. They are unbelievably intelligent--one of only a few species who, like we humans, are capable of making tools to help us solve problems ! Wow !

Glad to see so many of you are, like me, getting good doses of Calcium and D ! In 2006 I fell, breaking a wrist and through that learned I have Osteopena and as someone who hates milk was not getting the calcium needed. As for iron, I've only been taking supplements since a test duriing my hospitalization showed a deficiency. Too early to tell what's up with that. Yes, there are side effects, but those are easy to combat. Have been using my cast iron skillets with renewed fervor, too. Not for frying, but other things and baking since they so easily go from stove top to oven. A good and easy source of iron.

I don't think I have checked in with you fine folks today, have I?

Pardon my manners...... I know you are all concerned for Dennis and I and I should have posted earlier. My apologies.....

Had a fairly good day today. Dennis has been tired and kind of quiet. I think he's a little down and most assuredly bored! I had much to do today and couldn't sit with him as I did the first couple days.

I was busy doing house cleaning, and other chores and then hit my desk around 4pm. I'm just finishing up now.

He didn't feel like dinner tonight, and I just worked on through. We just had some french toast a couple hours ago for a lighter meal.

I have to get out some copies of tax returns for my late filers tomorrow and have quarterly payroll returns to do this week.

Dennis' birthday is also on Tuesday, so I'll need to cheer him up!!

Thanks for the love and concern....

DANAMO, I do very much enjoy my Yoga practice. I do it both to improve health and tone and mainly as a mind release thing and a connection to my spiritual practice...Thanks for asking.

SHIRLEY, The lake is 100 miles long...no wonder it seems as a river but it is not. It has a western arm, where Nelson is, and an eastern section...the Kootenay region has a ferry that connects east and west and the highway runs out on the eastern shore and picks up at the western shore. The ferry ride is very scenic and it is for free.

I have to admit I am feeling jealous of the gathering at NCTC this Monday and do send you all much love and I hope you see Belle and Truder.

Calcium and iron are both important for us so I am pleased for all the talk that encourages taking them.

The Yoga workshop was great and I worked with a twenty something young man from Newfoundland and it was interesting for me to see his perspective on the practice of yoga.I also worked with a 20 something woman from Japan and she is doing a yoga practice and learning English at the same time. Very courageous thing to do.

LINDA I am very happy you checked in and that Dennis did not try to over do it today...tell him to be patient with himself. It will all come around...what are you planning for his birthday? Special food? A movie?....???

Crow show was really good! Kay, I was UGHing because it was scheduled on the PBS website for 8, not 7, so I missed the first few minutes and only happened to catch it at all because I had the guide on the TV up to see what station the Ravens game was on!

I'm heading for bed...zombie show was good. Zombies are not my "thing" but I do like this one.

See y'all tomorrow!

Hoda said...

LYNNE would you be able to tell me waht is the big thing about zombies...why shows? what culturally are they saying? what age group is attracted to them? What is their message? What are they wanting us to look at? I know nothing about them, yet CBS had a few pictures of zombies with not much of a write up...hmmmm?As the young ones say Whats up with that? except it sounds different when they say it...HA!!!

hedgie said...

Kay, you are staying up later!!! Good on you, as Hoda says! Getting your strength back steadily is great news.

Linda, you have said that Dennis likes to cook....maybe he can handle those activities while you are doing the more strenuous stuff....AND your regular work!

Loretta, yes....Kay and I turned on ABC and found the tragic aftermath of the race. Dan Wheldon will be missed in the racing world. :(
So glad that you are able to try to duplicate some of Sherry's lost treasures. Still hoping that you can locate that photographer, too.

Not a good day for sports. The Toronto Marathon took place today. I saw a headline that said MAN DIES IN TORONTO MARATHON. I thought to myslef oh no it is the 100 year old chap!! Yes there is a 100 year old runner...so I read the article and it says he dropped 300 meters from the finish line and he was 27 years old!!! I feel stunned. I can not find out about the time for the 100 year old. I will keep looking.

Hoda said...

OK I found it...the 100 year old chap came in over eight hours to finish the marathon. He had set himself a target of nine hours...he was six hours behind the first place chap, but he did finish and made it in the Guiness Book of Records.Good on him!!!

Time to say good night.

Prayers that Dennis continues to recover rapidly.

Turning on the night light since Judie is not here tonight.

Rest well, my friends.

I worry about poor Judie and her modem problem. I believe she said trhat she had to get exam grades entered over the weekend. Wonder if she ended up having to go into universtiy to do it? What a PIA.

Hoda, excellent questions about zombies....I haven't the faintest idea! I'm not into that strange stuff. I still like Jules Verne!!!
Sounds like an interesting yoga class.

Milk and eggs

This is a story which is perfectly logical to all males:

A wife asks her husband, "Could you please go shopping for me and buy
one carton of milk, and if they have eggs, get 6."

A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk. The
wife asks him, "Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?"

He replied, "They had eggs."

(I'm sure you're going back to read it again!)

Heading to bed I'm pretty tired.

Been helping Mother prepare for Winter time. Off and on for a couple of weeks now.

Paula Hedgie-Lynn/e has a beautiful coffee table. She has beautiful wood found at the ocean and different things in there. Maybe you can talk to her and she can send you a picture of it. That way you would have something to do with the things you have found.

Take care and God Be With Everyone. Night have to go to get my eye glasses fixed tomorrow.

So excited that so many are going to be able to gather for our friend, Judy's visit! INCLUDING Loretta and Frank! Wish I could bring Gene along, but, we should be very busy on the 24th. Hey, that's only a week away!!

Sandman is here, so that means he has already been to see Judie. I will send him to Diann and if needed, Diann should send him to HODA:)

It took a while to get caught up.
Lori, prayers continue for all of your cats and kittens! Anxious to hear what your vet says tomorrow.

Prayers for NCTC Steve, for speedy healing!

So sorry to hear of the death of Dan Wheldon. So sad! Prayers for his family, and everyone involved.

Sorry to hear that Judie's modem was a casualty. Hope the new one is working soon!

DanaMo, good for you! You must be in pretty good shape! Good idea to take supplements, too.

Have been mostly resting up today, in preparation for finishing the transcription I have to do tomorrow. We watched several "Criminal Minds" repeats.

Margy, I'm a "lefty," but have always used my right hand on the mouse. Hope your finger gets better soon! Prayers! BTW, love your rainbow pictures! Beautiful!

Well, think I'll call it a day. Shirley, thanks for turning on the night light. I'm making sure the porch light is on. Have said prayers for everyone, and every creature. Special prayers for Dennis as he adjusts to having to slow down for a while. Enabling both security systems. Sleep well, everyone. God bless, and good night. Love all of you! :o]

I am up again, and I hear Kathryn's TV on, so she isn't sleeping either.

Hoda, I enjoyed your grocery store story. Yes, I had to go back and read again before it made sense. Funny.

Reminded me of the friend who sent her husband to the store with a list that included toilet paper. Hubby came back with no toilet paper because the thought it was too expensive. Wife explained that toilet paper is a necessity. You have to buy if even if it seems expensive.

In my early marriage days, I took my hubby to the grocery store and commented that I needed a new ironing board cover.

Hubby said, "Oh, we can't afford that." We were not wealthy, but I was shocked, so I showed him one. He was surprised and we bought it. I still do not know what he thought it would cost, or even if he knew what it was.

Geesh, I think we could have probably managed an entire ironing board.

Lori O. said...

Good Morning SHIRLEY.

What's keeping you up this early Monday? Is everything okay?

Lori O. said...

I sure wish you could join us next Monday at NCTC. I was so disappointed to read you didn't think you could make it.

stronghunter said...

Just couldn't sleep, Lori.

stronghunter said...

I wish I could make it, Lori.

We would have gone to the open house, but we usually stay overnight and plan things ahead.

We have something else going on this weekend--the rivah house. Kathryn has already put that plan together.

stronghunter said...

Think I will take some pills now and try to sleep. See you later.

Lori O. said...

Goodnight, Shirley. I hope you can rest now.

DanaMo said...

Good morning Lori. How are you, this fine Monday morning?

DanaMo said...

Let me say the weekend sure goes fast!

DanaMo said...

Hellooooooo! I'm all by myself in the cafe :(

Lori O. said...

No, I'm here. Sorry, I'm just busy this morning, DanaMo.
Good Morning!

Lori O. said...

You are correct - the weekend went way too fast! But, I'm excited at getting a lot of things done that I'd been wanting to do for a long time. YAY!

Today, when I get off I have to take Kate to get her colonoscopy and another scope down her throat, forget the name of that one. They say it'll be 3 hours since she'll be having both of them. I'll have to take the i-Pad. :)

DanaMo said...

oh poor Kate, that doesn't sound like fun at all.

I figured you were here and just not able to post. I wish I could say I got a lot accomplished over the weekend, but I did not. We didn't even get the pool closed. It had gotten a little cloudy and I want it to clear before we cover it for the winter. The solor cover had been on and I hadn't paid attention to it so the chlorine ran out. Monte is in town today so he will see if he can get it done today.I feel like I am rather lazy on the weekend!

Lori O. said...

Weekends are for resting up from the long work-week, DanaMo. It's okay. We all do that from time to time, and I do it a lot of the time! :)

DanaMo said...

Have a good day Lori. I am off to get ready for school. TTYL. Oh I sent you a friend request on FB.

Lori O. said...

Thanks, DanaMo! You have a great day with the kinders. Scratches for the 3 Flying Labs.

T-Bird said...

Good morning my friends.

hedgie said...

Monday, Monday......

I am up and about and getting ready to head out shortly for a meeting. Wish they would schedule them for later in the day! I am NOT a morning person.

Hoda, loved your joke!
And Shirley, the ironing board cover story is funny, too. MEN!

The night was crazy....when I went to bed it was still 74°---couldn't believe it. Now it is 52°. Go figure! I didn't sleep well at all.

Hope everyone has a great day, whether working or off or retired.

Prayers that Kate's tests go well...poor girl. No fun at all.

Lori O. said...

Good Morning LYNN and THELMA!

wvgal_dana said...

Lori I'm thinking of Kate and praying they fine everything ok from the 2 test. I use to go every 5 years now it is set for every 3 years because they found in the colonscopy pre-cancer cells.

Hedgie-Lynn/e my up so early for a meeting. Enjoy some of the sunshine.

DanaMo know you are at school. See you didn't close down pool. Had solar cover on...ah it took all the chlorine out. Yep need to correct that before closing up.

See Thelma stopped by this morning...Hi Thelma are you giving Buddy hot dogs?

Lori O. said...

Thanks Dana. So Sorry you have to go through that more often than usual. You be careful with that!

Lori O. said...

That's DanaWV, above.

Lori O. said...

Grooooooooannn, I'm so bummed Lynn and Shirley aren't going to be able to make it to the nest on Monday; however, very much looking forward to seeing JudyE.

Lori O. said...

Sure wish Kay, Andy, Hoda, Lolly and all others far away could be here. I plan on taking lots of pictures! It's a week away - can you tell I'm excited?!?!?!

I wish someone could just hold me for right now. I am crying...I feel so badly for the lady across the street from me. Her daughter is in grade school.I heard these terrible, horrible screams and looked out the door. To see it was the girl screaming and crying at her Mom. This I have seen happen before even at her Dad.

Parents have tried everything. Doctors have girl on Bipolar meds and parents are even paying for her to go to a Christian school now. Public said they, "can't handle the girl".

So her Mom is taking her to the doctors. The girl has already had time a Brooklane Psychiatric Center. Parents went through counseling with daughter.
