Good afternoon ! Have been very busy--had usual Sat./Sun. with Seth, then lunch today at his house. After that Julie and I went out to a mall where I found nuttin' and she found a pair of shoes. Have spent the last hour+ just catching up on the posts. Way too much to comment on and most of it now a thing of the past. However, I'm hanging on nervously as news of your vultures unfolds, LORI. Sure hope the parents get involved soon !
LYNN, no, DanaMO has apparently been to busy to e-mail me regarding the trip to Columbus, but we have another 10 days or so to get our act together !☺ So cute to imagine Liesl rounding up her toys and then konking out after such a "hard" job !
Oh, WANDA, I would love it if you were to come to Columbus again. The welcome mat is out for everyone of you wonderful Momsters/Dadsters !
Sorry to read of the aches n' pains, happy to hear JO's nebulizer treatment saved the day and wondering what the latest word is on ROBYN and TORI. Praying for everyone we have on our long list !
LORI, I'm so happy to hear Nancy and your niece are going to visit ! It's thrilling to think of how far your mom has come in just a few weeks !
Severe storm warning for some western areas---Cumberland, Paw Paw---sure hope that Lynne and Steve are close to being home and not still out on the road back in that area.
Hi again. Was checking out the sea eagle on Judy's link earlier from Australia. It's definitely different that the huge white-tailed sea eagles that we've watched in Estonia on EENet.Altho I haven't seen it's belly it looks a lot like the Australian white-bellied sea eagle, which is related to the kite. Found some info on Hancock--looks like the same cam~~~~~ Aus. Sea Eagle
What a day, hard to send your kid off across the big wide ocean! I can't believe Aric is off to Madrid, Spain. A long awaited journey which I am sure will be spiritual as well as fun. The opportunity of a lifetime. One that I never personally have had. When he returns he will go straight to college without coming home. WOW! I was nervous, sad and happy all at the same time.
I see we have some breeze at the nest. No thunderstorms here yet, but the sky is pretty gray.
DANAMO I wish ARIC a gret experience and how wonderful and genrous of you and his father to allow him this experience.I remeber leaving home at 16 years and how I saw the world as my place to explore. It is hard for the parents to let go an I celebrate you and your hubby for creating this opportunity for him and sending him off on his way...He'll be States side before you even know it.
Thanks Hoda. I hope I can give each of my children the opportunity. My oldest went to Australia 3 years ago for WYD and I told them that they each will have a chance to go God willing. My parents never had the resources to send us to something like this, but have helped to send their grandsons! :)
It is not a great video...took it with my camera. Also, took something with my small video camera but have not downloaded it yet.
Just took the boys shopping. We got clay for crafts, and two movies. It is just too hot to do things outside though they did go outside and shoot the BB gun. However, the shooting requires Granddaddy's presence and Granddaddy does not like the heat!!!
JUDYE, Those are some really, really big birds/Eagles! 11 - 20 popunds on that first link... the other white tailed sea eagle is huge too, but doesn't look like the one in the nest.
Dana isn't it a wonderful feeling to be able to provide those opportunities! Michael got to go to Jamaica in college to teach kids in group homes and do counseling
VULTURES: I just came back from checking on Black Vulture babies (huge babies) and the one with the hurt leg is really hurt. He's resting and the one that was way down in the woods made it up. So, now we know who is who. I fed them since I still haven't seen the parents. I will call the county tomorrow to see about trapping a possible rabid raccoon.
A neighbor up the street can come over and trap it. He has a wildlife relocation business, a sort of wildlife pest control only he takes them to a place where they can live. I imagine he would have to take it somewhere if it's rabid.
Praying they make it through the night and the parents are watching and protecting. The really are huge. I'd rather not have to capture one...then again neighbor guy can do that, too, I guess.
Love you all. I've got to get ready for bed and hopefully asleep by 8 at the latest. See you tomorrow! Still excited to see how Tori is doing. Andy hope your foot is better, and Linda hope you got to relax some today.
PAULA that is AWESOME about Michael and in such an early age too. He is a Social Worker now is he not? I remember reading that he does help others...God Bless The Young people and their dreams...
Raining heavily at the nest.
I have an hour phone call to make to a long term friend of mine who lives on the coast in BC, so I will be lurking.
Hi Shirley - great story bout the delay of the play! My daughter raved about the play and the performances when she saw it up in NY. She said the story of it all was exceptional.
Lolly I watched both videos. They were good! Have a great Hawkwood Camp week - I know how special this is to the boys. Watching for more pics. BB gun practice must be the high of the camp!
Yes Shirley it does feel good! And it's also a good feeling to know that it's something he wants to do. Seeing the pope and going to Catechisis (sp) each day, mass, Stations of the Cross etc...it's really described as a Pilgrimage.
Perhaps rain at the nest will pound those leaves down! Not having seen our eagles for a week would have been the ideal time to have trimmed those interfering leaves.
Ok I'm gonna go watch the boob tube since I am 100% for sure that the eagle will not be at the nest tonight so its shower and tv then bed I may or may not be back I hope you all have a safe evening
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Well I'm calling it a day
See ya in the am ☼ God Bless this Nest and all ♀ ♥ ♂ whom watch it at Sycamore Palace Healing thoughts for those in need
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone is fighting some kind of battle."
Forgot to say what a blessing yesterday was. Not only did we get some rain but the temp was tolerable all day. Sitting out last night at Elvis was not bad.
LOLLY, glad you're here. I was looking up ways to get rid of raccoons and I found this - it's called Shake Away:
Predator urine. This raccoon deterrent is readily available at most sporting goods stores and many online retailers. Look for urine from wolves, coyotes, bobcats, or mountain lions, and spray it around areas where coons are hanging out. This is supposed to trick them into thinking predators are nearby and scare them off.
Guess I'll be looking for some coyote urine, too! LOL
Cam is kaput for sure---again! Still raining, thunder in the distance, but no real wind. Temp is now 74. A/C off!
Paula, is "maggie" short for a Margarita?? Yum! Last time I went to the grosserie, they had a free-standing chest freezer full of single-serve alcohol-included M's for $1.99----got one to try it. It was VERY good. Gotta go back and get some more!
PAULA, one of LORI's vultures is injured, limps and is not mobile. The other one is safe. The raccoon did it she thinks. The Rehab guy brought up concerns that the raccoon might be rabid, because it was out in day time...He advised that LORI wait for the parent to come to the rescue, but she has not seen the parent for a while. Tonight there was movement towards the barn and she was thinking this is progress. She is staying away and watching by binoculors. Will wait till the morning and then take action if need be.A neighbour who handles wild life might be able to help her. This is what I understood at any rate.
OK I have been peaking in and saw that this was mentioned We see a butt load at Walmart 1.97 is our price The vendor and I call it Adult Capri Suns LOL We say we want to tape straws to it like the capri suns DailyCoctails
@Hedgie-yes he is basically packed. We will have to organize it a little better and he has a few things he needs me to get but it should be easy to take care of before we head to Dayton.
That's it, JudyE!!!!! Paula, grosserie usually only sells beer and wine.....but these appeared! Guess our WalMart probably has them, too, if Judy's does! Got mine at Food Lion.
Montgomery county can sell beer and wine at the grocery store...not in ferderick or washington county or down here...down here they have county liqour store...but gas stations and other outlets can sell beer and wine
Paula...have to tell you about this crazy family and pelicans.
When Michael was little we were going to Florida every summer. We were trying to teach Michael to say pelicans but he called them "pottys". So, from then on we called them pottys.
You know the poem? "A wonderful bird is the pelican, his beak can hold more than his belly can."
Well, we changed it to "A wonderful bird is the potty, his beak can hold more than his body."
Well, now we going to Port Aransas, or Port A. We see a lot of "Port A pottys". roflmbo Also, did you know a flock of pottys is known as a "Royal flush". Oh, yes, we are crazy!
Boys are in bed and I am not too tired. Tomorrow we are going to Grapevine to the aquarium. Jack has therapy in the moring so we will eat an early lunch and go.
Watching a great Andreas Bocelly concert on PBS. Kenny G, and Heather Headlee have appeared so far. Also a Chinese pianist named Lang Lang. Sounds like a PANDA name!
Lynn, I DO hate shopping and so does Julie ! We just use these ops for one on one mother-daughter times. I sat down in a chair in the shoe dept. and did nothing but watch people--better than the zoo !☺
Eileen is our family shopaholic. We both love to go shopping with her as she somehow zeroes in on just the right stuff for us as well as for herself. Every family needs one of those !
Shirley, is your son's employer a State Store or have they finally gone private yet? They are private here now, but it's almost like a lottery---limited # of licenses, and merchants have to bid on them! Only one in the county. Can you say monopoly??!!
Yep, DANAMO, I got your e-mail and am happy to let our dear Eagle Buds know that we will be able to get at least a lunch with each other in on Friday, August 26th. Yippee !!!!!
Praying for Aric as he heads for Madrid and then on to his new home away from home in Dayton. What a wonderful opportunity for him !
LYNN, I saw that Bocelly concert this week---pledge week in your market, too, eh ? I hate pledge weeks, but they do bring back some good and sometimes very old performances.
I am watching the same Hallmark movie that DanaMo watched last night. Very lighthearted and even though you can guess the happy ending it is good watching just to get to the end.... I sometimes get so tired of watching violent things.!
Wow, what a lot of storms and rain for many of you. We had dire predictions that didn't materialize. They may yet, but if so they're running late. Stay safe everyone !
So great that you could stay an extra day in Paradise, PAULA ! Just love hearing about the birds you see there. I think it's really swell that Nick will get to go to town with you in the future !
Will be praying for all on our list as well as LORI's vulture babes and LYNNE and STEVE as they head for home.
Y'all have a good night--hope the storms don't interfere with sweet dreams and that the sound of rain on the roof is lulling.
Just checked the sea eagle. She stood up, but my Snip It messed up. Had earlier seen an eaglet on it's back in a 1/2 shell, like a bathtub! This time there was a white standing eaglet & little chickie!
Tonight a teacher somewhere in your neighborhood is getting ready for your child's new school year, writing lesson plans or writing your child's name in their grade book, while we are watching television. In the minute it takes you to read this, teachers all over the world are using their "free time," and often investing their own time & money for your child's literacy, prosperity, and future. From Candy's FB wall
True ever so very true JO about what teachers do...so for those returning to the classroom this year I put you on my prayer list and I send you much gratitude for your fortitude, your creativity, your compassion and for your ability to carry on for the sake of your students.
See that I really slaughtered the names with typos!!! ARGH! Andrea Bocelli and Heather Headley! Not keeping my mind on typing when I listen to the beauty!!
Kay, people watching is much more fun than shopping!!!!
Glad you and Dana will hook up!
Wonder what Margy and Wanda are doing this evening?
LOL, Shirley----even after going private, it's still a source of BIG revenue for the state---they set the prices, not the store owner....and the taxes are really high!! I can remember in VA when customers could not even browse the shelves.....had to go up to a counter and apparently KNOW what you wanted and ask for it. Clerks couldn't suggest choices. It was quite a novelty when I came to WV and went to the ABC store for the first time and could wander the aisles and look at all the brands!
Oh, wow, now Sarah Brightman is on the show! Do you know that she was once married to Andrew Lloyd Webber, and I think was the original Christine in Phantom?
Hello all...we are home, and what a bad, bad trip. It stormed before we left Terra Alta, and by Sideling Hill, we caught up to it. I have never seen so much lightning. Constant, bright....I was scared. Daisy did better than me! Then we ran into the hard rain. Then out of it but lightning all the way home. The storm is now hitting here. Thank GOD we are home!!!!!!
LYNN it sounds like you are really enjoying your PBS show...you share things I did not know, married to Andrew Loyd Weber and the original Christine on the Phantom...
LYNNE 2 has not checked in yet. I hope they did not get cuaght in the storm.
WELCME HOME LYNNE AND STEVE. I am glad you made a safe trip considering the conditions...Did you enjoy your weekend? Did the car handle OK on the road with the storm?
We had a great time otherwise! It was my FIL's b'day Saturday and we surprised him with some soft crabs (barf) and some home grown MD 'maters! He's been talking about how much his misses them this summer since they've not been able to get to Baltimore yet this summer!
Well time to do the do for AM work---BOO. Maybe I can sneak to Aus. tomorrow!! Think I was mistaken in what I saw in the S.E. nest. The White was the egg that's not totally hatched & grey must have been the chick. Oh well. Paula must be spending the night or she wouldn't be reading while driving! LOL We had some lightening awhile ago & I think it's rain now!!! Pleasant Feather Dreams & Prayers for all in need ;>)
Lynne, glad you're home safe! Of course, you know that being in the car during lightening strikes is safe---as long as the tires are on it!!! Glad that Daisy held up well! It would be awful to be cooped up in a car with the fearful dog smell---and not be able to open the windows!
I found eggs in a nest in one of my hanging flower pots on the front porch. We watched birds bring in nesting materials, but they put it on top of the nest with the eggs. I don't know how long those eggs have been there, but I do not think any birds have been sitting on them.
Tell Steve I am very pleased he made a good and safe trip considering the conditions.I do not agree with you however about not counting on you in a crisis!!!It seems to me you come through with flying colours on the blog, we all count on you, and then I think about how you were so incredibly A1+ when you had to make the decisions for MITZI.
LORI - Praying for the vulture chicks. That must be stressful to watch, wanting to do whatever you can, but knowing you have to wait it out.
LORI - How wonderful your Mom is making a trip to see you Friday. Continued prayers that she gets better each day as her body heals. She really is doing so well and I'm so happy our prayers were answered. God is so good!!
The 2nd eaglet just cracked its egg in half in Australia!!
Mom has been up and down for the last hour and finally moved and I saw the egg in half!
Welcome Home Lynne! Glad you made it back to your roost safely tonight.
JO - Happy to hear you got your breath back. That must be awful. Prayers that you don't have any more episodes like today. You seem to handle it so well.
Lynn/Judie/Sandra - Pat,Christine and I suppose the girls too are going to the Redskins training camp tomorrow. Said she needed to get up around 4-5am to get on the road. I am wondering if they brought Chloe's jersey and will take him if allowed.
Let you know all about their visiting event! When I asked Samantha about the game, she said "It was awesome and WE won"!
there was a small incident involving my bad knee yesterday. One of the guys in town uses the pasture next to my in-law's place for his horses. They have not had access to the part right along their property until this week. So Daisy, Puddles and I went to see the horses. That was pretty funny because they were barking at them and all four adults and the baby just ignored them. But then one of them snorted and Daisy freaked out. She jumped full force backwards, straight into my knee. I can't believe I was able to stay upright.
Hope a new thread will be here for us early Monday morning.
Lynne sorry for that anxiety trip home. I'm sure it was a spectacular exhibition from the heavens BUT so glad you are home from all those mountains! ((hugs))
Cool, Jo-----wonder if the players still do autographs at camp? I have Art Monk's and Darrell Green's!! Art's is on a hat. Darrell's is on a t-shirt----which I don't wear cause I don't want to wash it---as the ink faded the one time I did!
It was quite a show Jo! I was actually enjoying it for a while, til it got really bad. We even saw a part of a rainbow in Cumberland! Got some pictures. I'll post....sooner or later!
Poor Daisy - will she ever learn that things bigger then her really won't bite
Lynne I am ok! Just had a day of not breathing too well - Humidity and Dew point got me........ Got some prednisone for just a few days.. I don't like to be called Wheezer! lol
Dear ones, I am saying sayonara. Can't wait for our late crew! Tub is calling my name....and then I will be very s-l-e-e-p-y, I hope! Love to all and prayers.
Whoops, Shirley Tell Hunter where Samantha will be tomorrow... I am impressed with Hunter's picture - He is growing up into his boyhood.. He is going to be so good looking. I think Kathryn will be a proud mother.
oh I know Shirley, and it's swollen up pretty badly. And the other one, the one Steve nailed a few days ago, is still very painful. If I were a horse, they'd just shoot me!
LYNNE - So how is your knee today after Daisy running into it? Riley did the same thing to me a few months after my surgery and the hyper-extension is incredibly painful. Hope you'll be okay.
I don't like the violent weather either. Too many horrible memories from my past that just always surface when the wind kicks up and the lightening and thunder get really bad. I'm a chicken.
Looks like the Sea Eagle is alert about something flying above.
Dennis has picked up a cold and isn't feeling well. He's waiting on me to go upstairs, so I must sign off and take care of my honey!
He's so good to me.....it is the least I could do for him.
Wishing you all restful sleep and sweet dreams!
Keeping you all in my prayers. May God Bless Each and Every One of Us and All the Critters we Love.......Baby Vultures, too!♥♥♥
Sorry to get here so late tonight! It's taken FOREVER for me to catch up on here.
We took Emma to the dog park today, and some of her doggy friends were there for her to play with! She had a GREAT time.
Lots happening on the blog today! Lots of prayer list additions: Praying for a safe journey overseas for Aric! How exciting!
Lori, MEGA prayers for the vulture chicks! I understand your frustration about the disconnected phones of so many rehabbers. Started having that trouble here in SoCal when the economy went south. I'm praying that the raccoon is NOT rabid, but please be careful just in case! BTW, prayers continue for your Mom & Dad.
Lynn, thank you for the link to info about gout. Very informative! My foot is almost back to normal as far as the swelling goes. Looks good. Just gimpy because my big toe is still stiff.
Praying healing prayers for Wanda, Father Capt. Gene, and for GG.
Prayers continue for Danny & Jeanne.
Prayers of gratitude that Lynne2 & Steve made it home OK! Phew!
Prayers for Dennis, and for Linda.
Well, getting very sleepy, so think I'll call it a day before I do a face plant! Prayers said for everyone, and for every creature. Sleep well, everyone. Making sure the porch light is on. Enabling the security systems. God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
P.S.--It's been pretty humid here today, and for a minute I thought I heard thunder...Then I realized what time it is. It's the Disneyland fireworks! Guess I DO need some sleep! G'night, all.
I'll say Rain, Thunder and Lightning. James and I saw a lot of it, drove in it, pulled over a few times. Lots of really neat cloud formations including low-lying clouds that made Back Creek Valley look like the Smokey Mountains The creek is up but not as high as it is going to be in a few days.
Seemed like it rained forever!
Shirley Sorry I missed the National Geographic show about the prairie dogs. Prairie Dog John has trouble with the back-footed ferret every year.
Jo, sounds like day after day of enjoyment with the Bragg Bunch
It's pretty late, James is overnighting it, and has been asleep for awhile. Nice to hear the sounds of a kid sleeping ♥
Lori, Praying for the Black Vulture family. and for your safety too. Wonderful that your Mother and Kilee your niece, will be coming up this coming week-end.
Judie: I kind of thought you meant Aug 31, 2011. LOL
Enjoy that 3rd day of your week-end Paula
...and Lolly and Jack and the boys...the whole week at camp !
Good Night Everyone, those on the pillows, and any Night Owls.
Good Night MARGY! So special you get James for the whole night, too. You have created so many special memories for him and I always think that's the best thing you can do for a child, because those memories, messages, lessons will always stay with them.
Thanks for the prayers for the Vulture family everyone. It's pitch black out now or I would go out and check on them, but really trying to leave them alone and let the parents and nature do its thing. BUT, from looks of it last night, the injured chick will need to see rehabber. I don't like how he lays there and flies are all over him. He'll move and shake them off, but it seems there must be a reason for the flies I saw last night...maybe blood that I can't see. Please give me strength, Lord.
Gosh you guys can follow a story! Thanks to EVERYONE for all the cheers of support for my Mother. She really is doing amazingly well.
LORETTA, I wanted you to remember my Mom when thinking of Danny. Mom just had her surgery 3 weeks ago. Momster Prayers and modern medicine go a long way these days!
I think I will keep my HODA YOGA GURL avatar today. It's inspiring just like our own HODA!
G☼☼D Very Early M☼rning SSCC patrons and lurkers. Neither cam working, so after a post or two will head for the couch, listening to 97.1 FM and no doubt dozing a bit.
gL♥RI, hope by the time you get home you'll be able to see that the young vultures are doing okay ! Who knew we'd ever be on pins and needles for a Black Vulture family ? I do love this Wildlife loving family of ours !
JO, quote from CANDY's FB wall is profoundly beautiful ! I have several in my family and know what she say's is true. God Bless our educators !
LYNN, my avatar is a Hawaiian Ululu Tree. Snared it from my Botany pic of the day site. Ha ! I followed your lead with the misspelling of Bocelli, thinking "that doesn't seem right, but LYNN is never wrong". ☺ The "Blimp Lady" is a remarkable, articulate 96 or so year old. There was some wind and rain at that time of night and she thought she heard a clap of thunder. It was actually the blimp plopping down in her back yard, causing little damage except to her bird feededs. OSU's Don Scott Air Field is about 3 miles due West of me and her Worthington home is about 7 miles NW. Have to be glad the prevailing wind carried the blimp in her direction and not mine !!!!
LYNNE, what a harrowing trip home ! I thought you were running late and now we know, with good reason. Glad you made it safely !
MARGY, it's great you and James got to share that weather and safely. Glad he's sleeping over so you can have more fun today !
SHIRLEY, I know you can pretty well envision the area that runaway blimp landed in. Back in the old days, remember the Tuttle farms adjacent to the airport property. Melt in your mouth donuts, best fresh corn on the cob in season and other delights. The airport and a bit of the OSU farms are still there, but most of Sawmill Road is now commercial property, with many stores and eateries on both sides clear on out to Powell. I guess it's progress, but I miss The Tuttle Farm !
odd but it look more like a check when it comes back to me in email form and also in facebook on the blog it has a small tail on top I wonder why it loos different in different places √
I feel so rushed getting up at y normal time I gotten use to just chilling I guess spoiled myself by getting up earlier if that makes since OK got to go finish getting ready
The cam is still black and white odd the leaves do see to move I did notice last night that I thought both the live and the still cam lost the colors about 20 min before they should have I thought maybe the storm had something to do with it being it may have been darker out to trigger the cam to turn on its nite lite Now we have a b&w cam
I was just out side looking at the road and the retention ditch has overflows to the max and a stupid car drove through it so stupid when there are other ways in the this development 4 ways to be exact two don't flood at all I tood a small video with my old old camera Angie has kidnapped my new one

LOLLY enjoyed the Elvis videos !
One adult and the eaglet is still in the nest in OK
Sky has gotten dark, wind is blowing and it's spitting rain. Temp down 4° to 79.
Those eagles are very attractive, too, JudyE. I like the Goldens, too!
Kay, do you hate shopping as much as I do?? Sorry your trip was not more successful! Glad that you and Seth had a good weekend.
Severe storm warning for some western areas---Cumberland, Paw Paw---sure hope that Lynne and Steve are close to being home and not still out on the road back in that area.
Now a bad cell at Suz's town.....
sure hope everyone will be safe.
Aus. Sea Eagle
Hope this works.

I still have the OK cam up and the juve is still there the adult left
Raining hard here now.....one boom of thunder.

Sorry Kay...I just emailed you now!!
What a day, hard to send your kid off across the big wide ocean! I can't believe Aric is off to Madrid, Spain. A long awaited journey which I am sure will be spiritual as well as fun. Spoke too soon, just started thundering.
And here comes the rain!
Happy to be home and of the time we were
with the kids at dinner. Lots of talk & laughter!
I need to read back one thread - want
to find out about the vultures condition
We didn't have the rain that you did,
Lynn. It is still a bit mucky out there but not really hot.
BBILW
Thanks Hoda. I hope I can give each of my children the opportunity. My oldest went to Australia 3 years ago for WYD and I told them that they each will have a chance to go God willing. My parents never had the resources to send us to something like this, but have helped to send their grandsons! :)
You are big of heart to acknowledge your parents too DANAMO. The boys ae fortunate and they will pass it on as they grow older.
That's funny. Both videos work for me now too, but they are the same video. Oh...well...!!!
Are you all getting the horizontal lines on the live feed? It is acting up here...
Dana isn't it a wonderful feeling to be able to provide those opportunities! Michael got to go to Jamaica in college to teach kids in group homes and do counseling
How much longer do I think I will teach? Well class begins on Aug 30 so I guess may Aug. 31.
Lori, hope the vultures will be okay.
Jo, glad you got two favorites at the same time: Bragg Brigade and Cracker Barrell. Cool!
Shirley, she is the original.
DanaMo, Aric will have wonderful adventures. He will thank you forever.
No rain here since this morning. A bit humid, though.
Pouring here and at the next. Hope the camera holds up.
My daughter raved about
the play and the performances when she
saw it up in NY. She said the story of
it all was exceptional.
Lolly I watched both videos. They were
good! Have a great Hawkwood Camp week -
I know how special this is to the boys.
Watching for more pics. BB gun practice must be the high of the camp!
Night Lori, sleep tight!
Yes Shirley it does feel good! And it's also a good feeling to know that it's something he wants to do. Seeing the pope and going to Catechisis (sp) each day, mass, Stations of the Cross etc...it's really described as a Pilgrimage.
Perhaps rain at the nest will pound
those leaves down! Not having seen
our eagles for a week would have been
the ideal time to have trimmed those interfering leaves.
Judie do you mean Aug 30, 2011 and Aug 31, 2012? ROF This may be your best year yet - meaning your students!
Looks like we may loose the camera again silly lines
wow super windy the nest is really movin
We're going to lose the camera!!
Um, I was thinking the day after the first class.lol
I love the sound of the rain I could do without the wind
the juve is still at the OK nest his back to the cam he must be shy
ok who want in on the action we are gonna bet on if the cam goes or not lol wow that is some storm you all are having
WOW NELLY!!! What a storm!!!
Ok I'm gonna go watch the boob tube since I am 100% for sure that the eagle will not be at the nest tonight
so its shower and tv then bed I may or may not be back I hope you all have a safe evening

Cam is a mess! Hope we don't lose it again!
First time I have had the cam up in a while. It certainly is loud! Very stormy looking.
Whoops! Just heard thunder. Send it my way.
LOL
Goodnight, again, all!
{{{{big hugs}}}}
Love the sound of the rain!
REALLY RAINING HARD HERE!
Very fierce winds, thunder and lightning!
Wonder where our eagle pair has taken cover? Inside the barn would be great!
Your dark clouds are coming over the mountain down into my valley!!!!
I have been seeing stink bugs in my
house............. #%**&
Maybe this rain will drown some of them! We haven't had any in a long while...maybe 2 months!
I knew the cam wouldn't last and I was so enjoying the storm sounds Nite again
Wwell daggone it thought I might get to see apretty sunset, but more rain headed my way...can see a lot more on radar coming from the west as well...
the still cam has rainbow lines on the top that is not a good sign and the time is froze at 7:53:44 so we don't have any cams so sad
ok still cam seems to be working with rainbow lines and all
Ooo lightening
Camera went down 15 minutes ago, from the storm...
Well pitch black outside and I can now
hear the thunder. To the wonders of our blog my 2 cats ere safely in the house.
BBL
Cam is kaput for sure---again!
Still raining, thunder in the distance, but no real wind. Temp is now 74. A/C off!
Paula, is "maggie" short for a Margarita?? Yum! Last time I went to the grosserie, they had a free-standing chest freezer full of single-serve alcohol-included M's for $1.99----got one to try it. It was VERY good. Gotta go back and get some more!
DanaMo....bittersweet goodbye for you, I'm sure. Did Aric get all of his stuff for school ready before he left, or do you have to do that??
Boy this thread is getting long...still thunder here but no rain yet
Lynn...your grocery store sells alcohol? They soun good..and yes the drink was correct:)
Keep trying to catch up...hard to do...are Lori's vulture babies injured...one? And she hasn't seen the parents?
Oh might have seen a pelican today...it went off into the distance before I could get back outside with the binocs
OK I have been peaking in and saw that this was mentioned We see a butt load at Walmart 1.97 is our price The vendor and I call it Adult Capri Suns LOL We say we want to tape straws to it like the capri suns
DailyCoctails
@Hedgie-yes he is basically packed. We will have to organize it a little better and he has a few things he needs me to get but it should be easy to take care of before we head to Dayton.
That's it, JudyE!!!!!
Paula, grosserie usually only sells beer and wine.....but these appeared! Guess our WalMart probably has them, too, if Judy's does! Got mine at Food Lion.
My avatar is me and Boomer on the couch watching Aladdin! He's so snugly.
No alcohol in our grossery stores. :(
Hedgie-I turned our AC off too!
No Alcohol in our grocery stores either DANAMO. In Québec they sell wine in the grocery stores, but not here.
OK I need to ask...sometimes there is reference to PAULA'S GHO at the beach house. What would that be? Any hints???
Hoda a GHO is a great horned owl
Montgomery county can sell beer and wine at the grocery store...not in ferderick or washington county or down here...down here they have county liqour store...but gas stations and other outlets can sell beer and wine
Thanks PAULA it is indeed part of Paradise where you spend your weekends. Such an abundance...They are beautiful the GHO.
DANAMO, thank God for grandparents, huh ? So nice that your parents are now in a position to help with your kids !
Kay, fantastic that you and DanaMo are getting together for a lunch. That is just awesome! There is nothing quite like this group getting together.
Naturally, PBS is a fund-raiser/pledge....probably only 45 mins. of performance, and 45 of the hoopla!
Rain stopped!
Awww, DANAMO, what a lovely avatar ! Which of the kids does Boomer belong to ?
Will works for the state, Lynn. There was talk of the stores going private, but it did not happen. After all, it is a source of revenue for the state.
LYNN, I saw that Bocelly concert this week---pledge week in your market, too, eh ? I hate pledge weeks, but they do bring back some good and sometimes very old performances.
The sandman has arrived along with serious rain and some lightning. So going to shut down. Hope Megan is getting much needed rain.
The night light is on for those who need to arise in the dark and for anyone coming in late from the West coast. Restful sleep for all.
LOLLY, thanks, I kind of feel like meeting another Momster is a spiritual experience, "wherever two or more Momsters are gathered together....." ☺
Love your pelican story ! That is one of my favorite Ogden Nash verses !
Storms have passed at least for now
I am watching the same Hallmark movie
that DanaMo watched last night. Very
lighthearted and even though you can
guess the happy ending it is good watching just to get to the end....
I sometimes get so tired of watching violent things.!
I'll read back later.....
♥L♥I♥B♥E♥R♥T♥Y ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Just checked the sea eagle. She stood up, but my Snip It messed up.
Had earlier seen an eaglet on it's back in a 1/2 shell, like a bathtub! This time there was a white standing eaglet & little chickie!
Hi,
I'm watching a National Geographic program on beavers. They are building a dam.
We watched a very impressive storm arrive here this evening.
To all our present and past teachers:
Kay, what is your avatar? Is that a potted tree of some kind?
Lolly just love the pelican story
There was some here on the Potomac that didnst migreate one year, so they built them a shed on the pier
Neighbnor told me they do have them here
Jo that is so true about teachers!
Going to go read for now, will catch. Ya in the mron!
(((Hugs for all)))
LOL, Shirley----even after going private, it's still a source of BIG revenue for the state---they set the prices, not the store owner....and the taxes are really high!!
Last that Megan posted om FB was that she had gotten 2", Judie....but too dark for her to see if there was any damage. Sleep well!
Oh, wow, now Sarah Brightman is on the show! Do you know that she was once married to Andrew Lloyd Webber, and I think was the original Christine in Phantom?
I'm back for a moment--wanted to see if LYNNE had checked in yet.
JO, the quote from Candy's FB wall is profound !
LYNN, my avatar is a Hawaiian Ululu Tree. It was featured on my "Botany Pic of the Day" site. I couldn't resist the yellow !
Okay, bye again, for sure this time !
I've read back just enough to see that Aric is going to MADRID....in SPAIN?! WOW WOW WOW! Prayers for safe travels!
And I see there is some trouble with one of the vulture babies. I sure hope he is OK.
Yes Hoda....Steve got us home safe. I cried at one point because the lightning was so bad. Don't count on me in a crisis!
LOL
We had some lightening awhile ago & I think it's rain now!!!
Pleasant Feather Dreams & Prayers for all in need ;>)
Glad you made it safely back, Lynne. We saw impressive storm clouds here.
Lynne, glad you're home safe! Of course, you know that being in the car during lightening strikes is safe---as long as the tires are on it!!! Glad that Daisy held up well! It would be awful to be cooped up in a car with the fearful dog smell---and not be able to open the windows!
Goodnight to all turning in. Peaceful sleep for you.
Boy, you ain't kiddin' Lynn!
Good Evening!
My last post is to LYNNE2
Now I have returned -
Lynn/Judie/Sandra - Pat,Christine
and I suppose the girls too are going to the Redskins training camp tomorrow.
Said she needed to get up around 4-5am to get on the road. I am wondering if
they brought Chloe's jersey and will take him if allowed.
I'm sure it was a spectacular exhibition
from the heavens BUT so glad you are
home from all those mountains! ((hugs))
Oh no, what happened to JO???
Well, Hoda, maybe in a NON lightning crisis I do well!!!
Lori's mom is coming to visit....WOW that is FANTASTIC!
I need to be told which alt key is the
'check'
Cool, Jo-----wonder if the players still do autographs at camp? I have Art Monk's and Darrell Green's!! Art's is on a hat. Darrell's is on a t-shirt----which I don't wear cause I don't want to wash it---as the ink faded the one time I did!
It was quite a show Jo! I was actually enjoying it for a while, til it got really bad. We even saw a part of a rainbow in Cumberland! Got some pictures. I'll post....sooner or later!
Jo, are you OK?
Oh congrats on the Redskins win. Blah blah blah.....
LOL---Kay---a blimp broke loose from one of your airports and landed in some lady's yard! SHe probably thought the aliens were coming!
Poor Daisy - will she ever learn that things bigger then her really won't bite
Lynne I am ok! Just had a day of
not breathing too well - Humidity and Dew point got me........ Got some prednisone for just a few days.. I
don't like to be called Wheezer! lol
Lynn - that blimp would have freaked
me out!
Now watching prairie dogs on National Geographic. Thought about Prairie Dog John, but so far I haven't seen him, Margy.
Hedgie/Lynn whose autograph would you
love to have?
Dear ones, I am saying sayonara. Can't wait for our late crew! Tub is calling my name....and then I will be very s-l-e-e-p-y, I hope!
Love to all and prayers.
Oh geez Jo. Glad you are OK. Better weather will be the norm in just couple of weeks!
P.S. JO----Chris Cooley!!!!!!!! Please and thanks, if you could wrangle that!!!!
Whoops, Shirley Tell Hunter where
Samantha will be tomorrow... I am impressed with Hunter's picture - He is growing up into his boyhood.. He is going to be so good looking. I think
Kathryn will be a proud mother.
Good night Lynn - right behind you.
Where did the blimp land?
Good grief, Lynne, you do not need any more trama to your knees.
Jo, Hunter has really grown in the past year.
oh I know Shirley, and it's swollen up pretty badly.
May God Bless Each and Every One of Us and All the Critters we Love.......Baby Vultures, too!♥♥♥
I will tell him where Samantha will be.
Linda, hope Dennis feels better soon. Summer colds are no fun.
I'm heading to bed. I'll try to catch up on the blog tomorrow....
Good night, prayers for all!
Take care, Jo.
JO alt 251 for √
Time for me to close for the day
Prayers for everyone's needs
Hugs for all my friends ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Now I am watching black-footed ferrets. They eat prairie dogs and are very endangered.
When our children were younger, we had stuffed black-footed ferrets. We also had a pet ferret.
Took me awhile to recognize the check mark. At first I thought it was the square root sign. Seemed a bit technical for our blog, though.
Good night, Lynne and Jo.
Shirley it was a link through this blog that gave me the list for the symbols...It is very helpful.
Well, I fell asleep watching the news. A slight chance of rain next week but the week ahead is still dreary, way above 100.
Have showered and heading to bed. I am zonked...more tired than I thought.
Won't shoot you, Lynne. Promise!!!Just put you out to pasture!☺
I do hope you excuse me this week. Jumping in and then leaving quickly. That is all I can squeeze in.
Night all! Sweet dreams!
Goodnight, God Bless and Sweet Dreams...
Good response, Lolly. I couldn't think of anything to say to Lynne. But, no, we won't shoot you, Lynne. We love you. Take care of those knees.
See you all tomorrow. I am ready to head upstairs.
Rest well, my friends.
Hi, Everyone!
√ off! Thanks...√
nite
I'll say Rain, Thunder and Lightning. James and I saw a lot of it, drove in it, pulled over a few times. Lots of really neat cloud formations including low-lying clouds that made Back Creek Valley look like the Smokey Mountains
The creek is up but not as high as it is going to be in a few days.
Seemed like it rained forever!
Shirley
Sorry I missed the National Geographic show about the prairie dogs.
Judie:
I kind of thought you meant
Aug 31, 2011. LOL
Enjoy that 3rd day of your
week-end Paula
...and Lolly and Jack and the boys...the whole week at camp !
Good Night Everyone, those on the pillows, and any Night Owls.
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ♥
Haven't read back about the amount of rain the locals got. On facebook, Nilla said that Jazzy's empty swimming pool fill up! 6 or 7 inches!
GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS FOR ALL
Good Night MARGY!
G'Night WANDA! Peaceful dreams and plenty of rest.
WANDA, thinking we should call you the GNO - Great Night Owl. lol.
Make that "bird feeders", please.
Okay, heading for the couch. I'll be listening to you and Loo, LORI !
BBL----do HAGD everyone ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Good Morning KAY!!!
Haven't even read your posts yet, just checking to see if anyone was up yet!
YEAH, you're here! I hope you slept well.
Still Cam is still not updating picture.
LIVE cam is all horizontal lines.
Bummer cam is down, but sounds like a lot of people are without power in the DC area.
AW Frisbee just went downstairs to look for Aric, he always goes and gets in bed with him after he eats in the morning :(
oh and my avatar is me and Boomer snuggled up on the couch! It's hard to see because it was my cell phone.
Good Morning one and all who are enjoying the morning brew at the wonderful SPCC
Looks like my son arrived safely in Madrid! OMGosh I am so excited!!!
Good morning Judy looks like Kay and Lori left us.
MEMAJO check is 251 √
lots of reading still to do back at it
odd but it look more like a check when it comes back to me in email form and also in facebook on the blog it has a small tail on top I wonder why it loos different in different places √
Well I'm off for my morning jog with Boomer. HAGD!

Good morning, JUDYE. You're so good with electronics - can you fix the cam remotely? Wouldn't that be cool?!?!
Ok I see some one else gave you the check info OH well keep reading Judy
Is it still storming at the nest looks like a lightening flash on still cam
I find the STILL cam working ok the leaves seem in different position just looks dark still
I feel so rushed getting up at y normal time I gotten use to just chilling I guess spoiled myself by getting up earlier if that makes since OK got to go finish getting ready
The cam is still black and white odd the leaves do see to move I did notice last night that I thought both the live and the still cam lost the colors about 20 min before they should have I thought maybe the storm had something to do with it being it may have been darker out to trigger the cam to turn on its nite lite Now we have a b&w cam
