Thank you Steve for the new thread.

I hope everything is squared away at your development.

Brought over from old thread:

Margy she knows they are called yucca plants but he always calls them "wedding bells" hee hee

Oh the pest behind her doesn't like them. Told her to "cut them down"!!!

She has now got to take a tape recorder outside with her.

wvgal_dana said...

Sorry Hoda thank you for the call over ( :

got to get my ISS Eyes tuned, back in a few

Oh Sharon! Sounds like all those birds came right to Bluefield with you!

Wedding Bells, nice RING....ROFLMAOAO!!

Hoda, I usually refuse to have sense. I feel that if I don't do things despite the pain, no matter how bad, I'll end up a useless old hag! SO FAR, so good....not thinking that I'm doing any additional damage to anything....

Been out with the dogs admiring the amazing MOON!

Was out a little while ago & boy that moon is BIG! Some trees close to it--would really spook the camera.
I will now venture into the basement in search of older family pictures. All of my folks pics are in boxes Fubby put in his garage attic. Problem is there is a pull down step ladder, but it would open on a car now!! Duh!

Hoda said...

WVGAL_DANA, I do not understand why are you saying "sorry Hoda", what happened? I missed it whatever it is...No need to be sorry...Welcome home and how was your mission work?

magpie said...

Loretta, I think I took a picture or two of the mansion during the Road Trip of April 2009- - will check, not the quality that yours would be, though.

ISS right on time! Sailed right underneath and past the bowl of the Big Dipper.
This Flyover, was for Nugz ♥

Lynne2 said...

Hey Google has a lunar eclipse! I took some pictures, not so good.

magpie said...

I think DanaWV just forgot to say thanks for the callover, Hoda ☺

Lolly said...

Thanks Steve for the new thread!

I think a few folks on here are getting silly tonight.

Who was it? Someone on here had a hangover from our virtual party. Wondering if they had too many margaritas, or was it the dry white wine or the expensive champagne??? Or did they drink all three? LOL

Lynne2 said...

Hoda, it's the other Dana....DanaMO who is on the mission trip this week!

magpie said...

that's really neat Lynne...the lunar eclipse on Google...thanks !!

but still, why no Flag Things on the 14th ????
I mean, on the Open Up page...
like where the eclipse is

Best one I ever saw, February 2008
Wow was it cold but the viewing was perfect, right out back at the apartment here

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

From other thread:

Yes Magpie, same address and I did get my lovely card! Thanks so much and so sorry I forgot to tell you!

As far as the bird reports, I was just thinking about that today that I need to report. So far, I have had cardinals, mourning doves, sparrows, house finches, goldfinches, Mr. Towhee, blue jays, robins, Alvin, Simon and Theodore and a few squirrels. I have what I think is some kind of warbler building a nest in a bird house on the front of Andrew's play house.

Lynne2 said...

yeah Margie, very odd that they did NOTHING for Flag Day. That was not very nice.

magpie said...

Loretta
neat story
Lynn did post it under the title
"Hard Hat Story" earlier today, but thanks to both of you,wow what an experience !
I'd take a hard hat and chance it as often as I could

Lynne2 said...

I just got an inexpensive ($12) cooling pad for my laptop. I'm hoping that this will stop the random shutdowns. It seems that getting too hot causes that in many laptops. I guess we'll see!

magpie said...

don't you agree Sharon:
Martinsburg and Bluefield are just too far away from each other.
Sissy got one awhile back similar to the one you and T-Bird did

Lynne2 said...

Is anyone else having problems on FB? I can barely use it at this point. It's slow...SO slow. I've cleaned up my history, rebooted, etc., but it's just not working. But I have no problems with ANYTHING else. Very strange.

wvgal_dana said...

Yes Margy that is right. I hadn't said "thank you to Hoda for the call over". Hoda that is why I said I was sorry ( : HUGS

magpie said...

Hoda
I think it was you that posted about Gabrielle Giffords' being released from the Rehab Center, earlier today
Thank You...
May her recovery increase by leaps and bounds in a home-setting

wvgal_dana said...

Lynne2 it was recommended when I brought my laptop to buy the cooling pad for under it. So I did and haven't had any problems.

Hoda said...

Thanks Lynne2 for the corrections and sorry WV_GAL DANA for the confusion.

Mema Jo said...

Well Howdy Folks! Thanks Steve

That Moon is sooooooooo large!
Megan has a pic of it on FB.

FB at this time of the evening does get very slow, Lynne.
I gave up and will let it rest
a while.....

Well I see I need to go to old
thread to hear about Norma...♥

wvgal_dana said...

Well being is it 10pm and I haven't had my feet up all day.

I going to head for the recliner.

Prayers for many on my heart tonight.

May GOD Be With You Each Step You Take, Each Thought You Have and Bless You With Peace & Love and A Well Rested Night.

PA Nana said...

Thanks Steve. We were getting 'long on the tooth.' An old saying.... not sure if it's dutch or Irish.

I'm back on the base computer. Jim is headed off to bed and I have the tv to myself if I so desire. Blue Bloods is on now and it's a repeat but I really like that show.

Lynn, yes the cellar has dried up and no more water in the laundry room. Just hope that's it.

Mike cleaned up the downed limbs from our HUGE silver maple but there are several just hanging by threads and the tree man has this week full. Supposed to here sometime next week. Hate to think what that's going to cost... almost as bad as a plumber.

Lolly, looking forward to receiving those seeds. Hope Wanda has some for me too.

Margy wish I lived closer to take advantage of Megan's past prime posies. I'd have all flowers and no grass if I could take care of them.

Lynne 2, easy does it with the weight loss. You didn't gain it a day or two..

Sharon, glad you touched base with Norma. I met her last year at the nest visit and remember her on the blog.

now.... what/who did I forget??

Oh, Hoda! Hi. Happy to hear of your eagle sighting yesterday. Yipee!

Lynne2 said...

I have trouble no matter what time of day it is now. Not just slow, but SO slow, I really can't even use it. I tried from IE also, same thing. UGH.

PA Nana said...

Hi Dana & Jo too.

I went outside to look through the tree for the moon. The neighbor's dog barked at me, but I didn't howl. ☺

JudyEddy said...

I am hoping that this was a warm comforting night for Paula, and her family and friends
My prayers are with them, all

Good Night now, Quiet Time
Hope all have a peaceful, restful, restorative sleep. Prayers that little Samantha has a comfortable night also, Jo

Great phone call that you made Sharon to Norma - So thankful she
made it to FL - that is where most
of her grandchildren live.

Lolly - that you so much for placing Samantha's pic under your

Helen and Hubby have less then an
hour and then touchdown. I've been following their flight on FlightAware.

hedgie said...

Loretta, what time did you lose the cam? I left you a comment about how lovely it was with the colors, but I don't remember what time it was!

JudyE....gotta advise you to get those 38,000 pics off your puter. Put them on discs......your computer has got to be badly bogged down with a load like that!

PA Nana said...

Lynne, I had trouble with fb earlier today. Finally had to close it. Must check again later.

Good to see you here again. Hope Steve is doing well and keeping as busy as possible. Praying he gets that new job soon.

Lynne2 said...

thanks Diann...he's being kept busy by my former landlord! Give us a bit of much needed funds while waiting for a new perm. job, or unemployment. He is to have his THIRD phone interview NEXT Thursday...really unacceptable. They have already talked to his former boss twice, and him twice. Last time was a week and a half ago, and now he has to wait AGAIN. Don't understand, can't get any additional info from anyone on WHY.

hedgie said...

Hoda, it is DanaMo who is on mission work this week!

Loretta, I posted the Alaskan article this morning!
Please be careful rummaging in basements and attics, girlfriend!

Sharon, thanks for checking on Norma. Gotta say, tho', that she will never get that puter up if one of us doesn't do it for her. ROAD TRIP!!

hedgie said...

Cool that Rashida (sp?) saw a gyrfalcon, DanaWVV!

hedgie said...

Lynne, it's not YOU with the FB.....many people are complaining about the same thing!!!! It's THEM! Come on, Zuckerberg, makes those techs work for their big pay!

hedgie said...

ROFL, Diann---you SHOULD have howled! It might have made neighbor's dog hush!! Loved to howl when my sister had her wolves....it always got them going---what a lovely tho' mournful sound to hear .

Lynne2 said...

oh, well, seems like all you have to do is make a complaint and FB starts working like it should! Hmmmmm.....

Lynne2 said...

if anyone on FB wants to join a cool group, join The Great Backyard Bird Count! People post (and you can too) pictures and comments about what they see in their backyards or elsewhere. Pretty neat! It's not an App.

hedgie said...

JudyE---I've also been told that lots of pics on harddrive slow a puter down!

Ripe berry moon is pretty, but shrouded in haze---moonbeams not reflecting down on the objects below at all here.

Lynne2 said...

Hey Andy, if you check in later, check out the Manchester Vet Services FB page...I posted the PUPPIES!!!!

Mema Jo said...

Margy I love the picture of James.
Such a fine looking young man & I
know how much he means to you & you
to him. Good relationship ♥

We do need to get a friendly Geek up to Norma's! She would love to be part of the Early Birds again.

Lynne2 said...

I got an external hard drive for my laptop to put all my pictures on. BUT..I am still afraid to take them off of here in case something happens to the EHD!!

I'm just hopelessly worried....

Lolly said...

Diann...I just went outside, too! And gazed at the moon through the trees! Neighbor's dog did not bark and I was not attacked by an armadillo! LOL

Mema Jo said...

Lolly your oasis from the heat pic
on FB is so refreshing to see.
Love it.

paula eagleholic said...

Back from friends house...definitely needed company tonight, and got some doggie pets and kisses and a few laughs.

Lynn, thank you for the lovely poem ♥

Margy, such a nice picture of James. What a nice young man he is, no doubt in part to you (((Hugs)))

Glad to hear Gabby Giffords was released.

The moon is just gorgeous.

JudyE, I went ahead and paid for the Snagit version, mine is version 9.1.3, version 10 must be their newest release.

Lynne, sounds like the dieting thing is going good...keep on it!!

Happy to hear we had another visit by both Belle and Truder...Sharon, I am looking for the love, too. Maybe we will see it in time.

Margy, enjoy the bird walk with James! Hope you get to see our eagles as well!

Sharon, thanks for calling Normabyrd. I miss her so!

Boston won the Stanley Cup!! Guess now we are down to watching baseball. Dallas Mavericks get their parade tomorrow. Too hot for me to go to a parade.

stronghunter said...

Hello,

Just got back from playing bridge. I had not checked to see when the third Wednesday of the month was, so I messed up. Could not believe that this is already the third Wednesday in June and it is only the 15th.

Hunter and I worked very hard cleaning up my classroom, but still had to rush like crazy to get out of the building by 5:00 when they close everything down and everyone has to be out. We got there late. I guess it was 10:30 or later, but then we worked straight through, taking a short snack break.

Hunter worked very hard and was a big help to me.

I still have the four dual enrollment exams to grade, but I will do that and turn in those grades, then I need to take the laptop back to Culpeper and turn it in. I think I can get away with waiting until next week without having them send the police after me for stealing a laptop.

I was afraid I had thrown away the four exams, but I did not. I found them on my desk right where I had left them.

Also turned in my extra hours for teaching the night SAT classes. I had never claimed the time for the fall class or the spring class. Guess it was time to do that. I know the math teacher waits a long time to claim her pay, too.

I have skimmed over a few posts, but I am far behind on the news. I see that Judie was asking about me on the last thread. I'm here, Judie!

PA Nana said...

Wasn't there to be an eclipse tonight? Anyone know and what time?

[by the way, folks....
Judie made a late night post at the very end of the last thread....

PA Nana said...

Hi Shirley. How much longer for you before you don't have to answer any bells or dumb questions?

Hoda said...

Pa Nana, the eclipse happened last night and it was not visible in the Americas...

Hoda said...

Welcome home Paula, I am glad your visit with friends was good.
You are in my thoughts and I send you two many prayers and {{{{HUGS}}}}.

PA Nana said...

Oh! I missed the eclipse. Thanks Hoda. I'm always late for something. Sorry I missed it.

Judie said...

Thank you, Steve. Sure hope the damage has been cleared. Sorry for the mess you must have had to deal with.

Hi Diann, welcome back.

Lynne2, congratulations. I think I heard once that 2 lb per week is a safe/healthy loss.

Missed the nest visit, of course.

Hi Sharon and thank you for the Norma report. Hope she will be back with us soon. Alvin, Simon, and Theodore may be at your place but I have all their cousins. Eating me out of house and home. They do love sunflower seeds and peanuts.

Dana, are you getting excited about visiting Colorado? I forget, when do you leave?

Margy, love the avatar picture of James the Wise. He's a real cutie. So cool you two are going for the bird walk. Enjoy!

Hi Lowreeda.

Oh no! I knew this would happen. The sandperson is hiding just outside the door trying to get in to post a message on the blog. Sandperson is NOT allowed on the blog. So, going to go and watch some news and then get some sleep.

Night light is on for all those headed back the hallway, recovering from tonsillectomy, going to the tub, or just stumbling around in the dark.

Speaking of stumbling in, I see Shirley has arrived. So glad you got most everything done and that Hunter was such a great help to you.

Restful sleep for everyone, especially Paula.

PA Nana said...

Hoda, our local weatherman said the eclipse would be tonight but not over the USA. Drats!!!

hedgie said...

Looks like Mits plane should be on final approach with TD in 2 minutes!

stronghunter said...

Read back to see Paula's post about Nugz. I am so sorry, Paula. At least you know that your two beloved pets are together again and free of pain.

Please be good to yourself. You have had a rough spring.

PA Nana said...

Goodnight Judie and anyone else turning in.

It's getting close for me too, but I'm too stubborn to give in yet.

Paula, glad you had a good evening.
Probably just what the doctor would order for you.

Hope Jo's little one has a good night too.

stronghunter said...

Judie, I heard the story about your former student on the news. It is disappointing when our students mess up like this.

Hoda said...

You are right Pa Nana, I made a mistake. here is a link for what it looked like.

Lunar Eclipse

Hoda said...

Sorry Pa Nana about the mistake I was thinking overseas time...

Lolly CONGRATULATIONS about the Boston Bruins win over the Vancoucver Canucks...I gave up watching hockey over 15 years ago as the fighting got to be a problem for me...yet Vancouver is in BC and there are many who have crashed with this loss...many parties have been silenced...

stronghunter said...

One of my bridge buddies said that those little mosquitoes with stripes that bite in the middle of the day are Japanese.

I did not ask them their nationality, but there have been lots of them around here, and they come in in droves when I hold the door open for the basset hounds, who do not care one bit about how long I have to hold the door open for their comings and goings.

Mema Jo said...

Diann it is so good to have you here! My eyes are drooping and
the yawning won't stop! I think
that Judie's sandman found my house

Good Night to all my Friends!
Sleep well and may tomorrow morning's light awaken you.
Prayers for all our wants/needs.
Hugs for all ♥♥♥♥♥♥

There is a helicopter running back
and forth over Middletown - Suppose they are looking for someone - I am in Lock Down! It is so very very loud... Well at least it isn't thunder! Night

stronghunter said...

I hope Mits had an uneventful flight. Hope she enjoys her trip.

PA Nana said...

Hoda, thanks! The views were awesome from south america, spain, other places in europe, moldavia, and I loved the one over Serbia.

Had a hard time getting back here, but made it.

stronghunter said...

Hunter's baseball team is in the playoffs. Their first game is next week. I think maybe Tuesday. They start playing at 8:00 PM. His bedtime is usually about 8:30. Games sometimes last two hours. Wow!! Really a late game for kids his age. Kathryn is already planning to have him sleep in that morning.

It will be his first game under the lights, so he is excited.

stronghunter said...

Jo, hope the tonsillectomy went well. I might have missed the post, haven't read everything.

hedgie said...

Paula, glad you had a relaxing evening with friends.

Saw a pic of the eclipse on FB---beautiful!

Shirley, did you finish in the classroom? Only have to go back to turn in the puter??? Whoopie!!
Let the good times roll!

Judie, hope you sleep well! No air needed again tonight!

Time for me to head downstairs. See you lovely folks tomorrow.

Prayers for all, especially for Paula tonight.

PA Nana said...

Okay, Jo, time to give up and head back the hallway.

I won't be far behind you and my recliner is only 10 feet away.

Shirley, will you and Hoda end the blog for the night? Hope I didn't forget anyone.

Prayers for a peaceful sleep for everyone, especially Paula, and a good tomorrow.

God bless each of you. ♥♥♥♥

hedgie said...

P.S. Diann, do you have a pic of your Dad to use for your avatar in honor of Father's Day?

Lolly said...

Hoda...thank you, but actually we really did not care who won. Jack was pulling for Vancouver in the beginning but tonight said he really did not care. We are DALLAS STARS fans!!!

Do not like the fighting either, but that is not going to stop Jack from watching and I do enjoy the games when we go to them.

I am heading to the shower and then to bed. Up early tomorrow to head to Fort Worth. Time for routine blood tests. I want to go early in the morning to be home to watch the parade on TV.

Nite all! Sweet dreams!

(((Hugs))) for Paula!

Hoda said...

Shirley,
I saw pictures on FB of Mema Jo's Samantha, she did well with her surgery and was smiling on her way home. Throat was scratchy and she was still sleepy as she was being discharged.

Lynne2 said...

heading to bed, good night and prayers for all!

Hoda said...

Good night and God Bless to all those who have headed to bed...sweet dreams.

stronghunter said...

Glad that Samantha did well.

When Susan had her tonsils out, she was a sick little girl and was kept in the hospital for several days.

The insurance company wanted to deny it, because they claimed that a tonsillectomy should be an out-patient surgery.

The doctor went to bat for us and got it covered. Susan had two separate hospitalizations because she had a serious infection and was on an IV for awhile.

stronghunter said...

Thanks for the information about Samantha, Hoda.

I found the picture on FB.

I am falling asleep. Must go upstairs now. I will see you tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

With Susan, I felt so guilty because I knew she was sick, but did not realize how sick. I was rushing around trying to get ready for a visit from the in-laws. When I found Susan lying on the living room floor burning up with fever, I took her to the pediatrician.

He sent us right to the ENT doctor with the comment that Susan needed to go to the hospital. When the in-laws arrived, that is where we were--the hospital.

stronghunter said...

We had been planning a family trip to the beach. After a few days, the doctor released Susan, saying that if it were his daughter, he would go ahead to the beach and keep an eye on her. If she had a spike in fever, we were to come right back home.

Well, Rus broke his leg and Susan's fever spiked, so we came home with two patients after a couple of days at the beach.

These things happen when you have four children.

stronghunter said...

Rest well, everyone. I will see you tomorrow. I do expect to sleep in for awhile.

Hoda said...

It is precious you rstory of Susan and Russ and the beach Shirley...it is true a Mother's hands are full when you have four children...Parenting is a great responsibility and one is blessed with energy and know how to do it. This is what my sisters and my friends who have had children tell me.

Good night every one Sweet dreams and God Bless...sometimes I think if I was to go to bed at the same time as you all do I can be up for the five o'clock visit, but it would be two o'clcok here waaaaaayyyyyy toooo early to get up. See you all in the morning God Willing.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Well, I'm getting here much later than I had hoped to again.

Steve, thanks for the new thread, and Hoda, thanks for the call-over!

Had a very busy evening. Took care of the bulldogs, Hubby got a haircut, and spent some quality time with Emma.
We ended up having Angus burgers from McDonald's for dinner--just not enough time to mess with vooking!

Shirley, congratulations on getting so much wrapped up. Bet Hunter was a great helper! You certainly have my permission to sleep in tomorrow--you have earned it! Just a thought, but have you checked out those little fan thingys that you clip on your belt to repel insects? I think I need one, too. I have 2 EXTREMELY ITCHY bites on one of my ankles that are driving me CRAZY!!!!

Well, guess I'd better call it a night. Will be back tomorrow. Checking to be sure the porch light is on. Judie, thanks for the night light! Enabling both security systems. Prayers said for everyone here, and for all creatures. Sleep tight, and I'll "see" you tomorrow!
Love all of you! :o]

Lynne2, I will have to check out the puppies on FB! Thanks for the heads-up!

Paula, I'm glad you were able to spend time at a friend's and get some puppy kisses. Puppy kisses can heal a lot! Prayers that you sleep well tonight.

PA Nana said...

Hey, couldn't sleep again. Darn I was doing so well today. No pain medicine except ibuprofen this morning.

Played tag with a local pharmacy and our mail order scripts. What a mess that was. I had been out of this medicine for almost a month and asked my family doc to fax a new one for naproxen EC; which he did. I ordered our maintenance drugs online from the same mail order and that made 2 orders.

I get an email from them saying they were out of the naproxen until the end of June and to call the family doc for an emergency 30 days supply; which I did.

As of today I still didn't have my arthritis medicine. ggrrrrrrr.
Called the local pharmacy, yes they had the scipt but it was not to be refilled until the end of July. When I explained the problem they said they would call express scripts to get a waiver.

While waiting for the pharmacist to call me back I called express scripts and finally talked with a rep. The medicines had been filled and mailed out June 8 but I haven't received them yet. She ordered the waiver to CVS for a 10 day supply - that's all I got.
Can't wait to start them. That last trip/fall really did a number on the back and knees.

I hate to think when something like this happens on medicare what will I do???? We only have Part A now because Jim's still working full-time (the old fool). Sooner or later we'll have to make our medicare choices. Just hope we make the right ones.

Well, got that off my chest. I'll check in tomorrow.
God bless

PA Nana said...

Good night Andy!

Lynne2 said...

oh JOY. I'm awake, thanks to Steve "I can't get myself up to move the sneezing cat off of the bed" Soper. DUH.

Diann....what mg. of naproxen are you taking?? I don't get the scripts, my back Dr and later the knee Dr said to just take 2 of the OTC Aleve, or generic. That equals 440 mgs, just under the standard 500mg scrip strength. That would be better than nothing!

Lynne2 said...

Going back to bed now....hopefully. I was having this weird dream where I was tricked into going to my sister's house. Long and detailed, and very strange.

Good night!

Lynne2 said...

HEY! I left the computer running and sure enough, it's STILL ON!!! Guess that little cooling pad fan really made the differenc!

I took too much time reading this morning, but remember from yesterday I wanted to tell you:

LORETTA - I love the Pax Cam and its river setting. Was watching then went back to find that it had gone offline - that was around 1 or so. Is that going to be the norm? Also "Liked" the cam. I really do.

WV DANA - loved that Alaskan Hummingbird link you sent in Momster email. What a great find, and thank you for sharing it. I passed it on to some hummer friends. ♥

Bad, bad day at work yesterday, hoping for a better one today! Lord please smile upon that place. :)

Prayers for PAULA's heart, that it may mend quickly.

Missing Early Birds KAY and DANA MO, and of course, LIBERTY. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

See you soon. Expecting nest visit at 5:05 this morning if you're still up LYNNE!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Lori,
You still there? I couldn't sleep, so dropped in to check on the blog. The puppies Lynne2 mentioned are on Facebook under Manchester Vet Services, and they are the litter of English Springer Spaniels! There oughta be a law against such extreme cuteness! Fasten your seatbelt! (I wish I could adopt ALL of them!) Well, better try again to get some sleep. G'night!

Good Morning Andy! Thanks. I thought that's what they were but I was hoping they would be bull dogs! I know you love them too.

Hope you've gone back to bed to get some rest. Lots of people not able to sleep well tonight. HMMM. That big bright moon maybe? I'm sure MEGAN or MARGY will have the name for what kind of moon it is.

Sweet dreams. Love to Emma.

TRUDER IN THE NEST!

Lori O. said...

TRUDER: A VERY PREDICTABLE EARLY BIRD. HE FLEW IN OVER 9 AND HEADS FIRST TO THE OLD NEST CUP TO DIG AROUND.

Lori O. said...

HE'S MAKING NESTORATIONS ON STICKS BETWEEN 7 - 9 THEN STOPS AS IF HE HEARD SOMETHING, TAKES A LOOK AROUND AND RESUMES HIS STICK MOVING, BEFORE HE WALKS OVER THE THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE NEST UNDER THE LEAVES. IT'S HARD TO SEE WHAT HE'S DOING.

Lori O. said...

TRUDER STILL HANGING OUT UNDER THE LEAVES AROUND 4. HE'S LOOKING AROUND. IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS THERE, YOU WOULD GLANCE AT THE NEST AND NOT EVEN SEE HIM THEY WAY HE IS STANDING NOW.

Lori O. said...

HE SAW SOMETHING - LOOKED UP AND AROUND. NOW BACK TO NESTORATIONS ALONG THE RAIL BETWEEN 4 & 5.

Lori O. said...

TRUDER MOVES OUT FROM UNDER THE LEAVES - THANKS T - AND IS NOW DOING HIS BIG DIG DIVING IN HEAD FIRST TO THE OLD NEST CUP LIKE HE DID YESTERDAY.

Lori O. said...

tRUDER IS ACTUALLY TAKING THINGS OUT OF THE RAIL THERE AT 8 - 11 AND STICKING THEM ON THE BOTTOM ON THE NEST INSTEAD OF MOVING THEM INTO THE RAIL.

I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT HE IS THE TIM ALLEN TOOLMAN CHARACTER ON THE OLD SITCOM HOME IMPROVEMENT SERIES.

PAULA, thinking of you and rememberin Nugz with love,

Dog On Loan

"I'II lend you for a little time, a dog of mine God said.
For you to love while he lives
and mourn when he is dead.
The years they may be six or ten
or even as few as three.
But will you,'til I call him back,
take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gIadden you,
and shall his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories as solace
for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this dog to Iearn.

I've looked the wide world over,
in my search for masters true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
I have selected you.
Now will you give him your love,
nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call
to take him back again?

We answered in sincerity, Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joy this dog shall bring,
the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
and love him while we may,
And for the happiness we will know,
we'll ever grateful stay.
But shall the angels call for him
much sooner than we planned,
We'll know the bitter grief that comes
and try to understand."

LORI, Malcolm is fine this morning, but he doesn't think so. The one thing he really hates is the computer ! He's very antsy any time I'm on it--doesn't like the competition.

Last time, Monday, that I checked on the vulture family, I encountered the more frenzied of the parents, hence the Jekyll and Hyde anem might be the most appropriate. I got an idea of how Dr. Sharpe might feel when confiscating eaglets and getting dive bombed by angry parents. Mom (I think it was Mom) was not happy with me and I was waiting for her to land on my head. I won't place the feed so close to the chicks next time, maybe 30' away instead of 12'. I need to get some good pictures that I can post.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GENIE JEWELL!!!!!

Love you poem, Kay!

Glad Lori saw the nest visit this AM. Other early-birders will be sorry they missed it!

Diann, so sorry about all of the meds confusion. What a PIA! I've been through a good bit of it, too....think I WILL not use mail order again. It did not save me OR Medicare enough to put up with the hassle!

hedgie said...

Love the Yucca pic, Kay!

Lynne, hope your day is a fun one.

Paula, here is another lovely poem dedicated to you and Nugz and Boo....and to all of us who have lost a dear pet:

I sit and try to write the words, I want your heart to hear.
Hoping to find some comfort, in the fact that your not here.
I do believe with all my heart, that your soul has gone to be,
With all the other angel dogs, that you were meant to see.
We will have to stay behind, until God calls us too,
...So do not be afraid, that he's only called for you.
We'll never forget one minute we spent,
of loving and laughing, of places we went.
And I dread the day that your scent disappears,
for it's "proof" to me that you were just here!
But one day will come, when we'll start to see through,
the pain of the moment, and remember just "you".
Now you go and play, and look down when you can,
remembering we love you, and this isn't the end. Author Unknown

Good morning all!

Well, after the computer being on with the cooling pad for several hours into the night last night, I though I had the problem solved. NO such luck. This morning, after being on for just 2 hours, it shut down. UGH.

Have to leave for work at noon so I am trying to get some chores done around here. Manchester today and tomorrow, but it's a killer schedule those 2 days....I'll be there til about 8 so I won't get home til close to 9, and then I have to be back at 7:45 in the AM tomorrow and work til 5.

I've got a Pileated Woodpeck flitting around in the pines out in the back of the yard this morning!

You are never going to believe this. That Darn Brother Cat has been getting out at night!!!! We took the dogs out last evening for a walk and a few minutes later, there he was following us! We couldn't figure it out...he was on the porch, door closed, window screens in tact. So we put him back. The only place that he could possibly have squeezed through was an empty slot at the bottom of the door...it's on of those doors with all the little glass panes in slots and you crank the handle to open or close. Well, the bottom pane is missing, but the space is SO SMALL, we really didn't believe he could get through it! But guess who was missing from the porch this morning??? Yep. He was out in the greenhouse, and came running when I called him! So I move a top pane to the bottom slot and now he can't get out.

We had a little rain this morning, but it wasn't even enough to wet the ground under the trees. Sun coming out now.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
I didn't realize I didn't sign off last night!
When we finish cleaning up after Bible School is over, it is 9:30pm when we get home. I stopped at the mail box and was flagged down by a couple who are interested in buying one of the houses that are being built across our road. They are from Germantown, Md. and wanted to know a bit about the neighborhood. Then Gene came home and stopped to chat with them, also. Well it was quite late when we finally got in the house. I then checked to see what our girls are up to in OBX, through face-book (having a great time and taking some wonderful photos)...then, I guess I fell into bed without wishing my blog friends a Good Night!
I have loved being with the children at Bible School, but am glad this evening will be the finale:)

hedgie said...

Lynne--what a determined guy Bro Cat is! Easy fix, thank goodness!

I just discovered that Mitzi has blood in her nasal discharge....UGH. I don't think this is a good thing.....calling the vet now. May have to take her in with me.

Good Afternoon Eagle Lovers!

Up-to-date again here. This morning I barely finished and by time I went to write I had forgotten everything. Do you all write as you go along when reading a lot of posts?

WV DANA - I only read KAY's pet poem, sorry Lynn. I'm like THELMA and don't want to cry.

I'm hoping PAULA is okay. What a tough few months.

PAULA - I know some say to wait awhile before you get another pet, but for me, I swear, it's jump right back in and save another one. I've heard that from other animals lovers, too. Don't worry, your love for the others does not fade. You just get to smile a little more while you heal.

HODA - guess I'm a lot like WV DANA because I also love reading of your adventures. I do wonder if you're retired to have so much time to do all these things.

LOLLY - isn't it one week from today that you leave on your humdinger camping trip to cooler weather in Colorado? I bet you are SO looking forward to it!

SHIRLEY - you're a good Grandma. Weiner news is only good when it comes from Hebrew National or Wegmans.

JUDIE - I meant to tell you the other day how awful I felt when you said the DC Police Officer had been one of your students. I was mortified to think someone could do that to an elderly person, though I'm sure it happens a lot. Just so happens that was also World Elder Abuse Awareness Day when the story came out. A ((Big Hug))

LYNNE - though I know you won't be checking in for days with your hectic job schedule and your painting duties for family - but wanted to suggest that you pencil in your long awaited camping trip and announce it to everyone immediately so they will schedule you OUT OF TOWN. :)

Hi, Everyone,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GENIE/JEWELL!!! HOPE YOUR SPECIAL DAY IS SPECTACULAR!!

Getting here a bit late this morning/afternoon, but hit the road running this morning to get everything done. The bulldogs are both so frisky today it's unbelievable! Trying to clean their "mugs" and put in allergy eye drops is like trying to medicate a charging rhino! Hafta throw them down and sit on them! Got the job done, though.

Emma is being a good girl this morning. She's snoring at the moment, but can awaken in a flash if she hears me moving around!

The weather here is my idea of PERFECT! It's overcast, gray, misty, and cool! June gloom, to be exact. LOVE IT!

Well, gotta run. Have more bills to pay online, and must get more transcription done. Will check back in later. HAGD, everyone! :o]

Good morning all.It is 10:00 AM PDT here and I have to say I feel very embarrassed at the riots in Vancouver last night. It is one of the reasons I do not watch hockey any more and have not for at least fifteen years now...they burnt cars and broke into stores and littered the streets and yes there were RCMP ON HORSES. I will try to find a picture to post...Very disturbing and then they seem to want to have praise because they organized clean up through the soicial media networks...I am not pleased nor am I impressed.

WOW is ayone else watchig the feed on the live cam? Major fuzziness and then black lines and I fear we are going to lose it and Steve is travelling this week.
