Okay, I will share it. I was literally a "pick up"! LOL I was a sophomore at TCU, and it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in February. Earlier in the month we had had 12 inches of record breaking snow, but this was a sun shiny warm day. After church, my good friend, Penny and I decided to go for a walk. We looked around for someplace to go but we were in a neighborhood of people we did not know! But then, it was 1964, not like now! They introduced themselves and we stood there and chatted. Bad fire across county line (FoxGlen for you locals)----think they had a structure collapse....all fire personnel safe. Victim going to hospital---just heard someone on scene tell medics that they needed to secure all of his clothing when they get there. Evidence?....hmmmmm.
Happy Birthday to your brother twins Ronnie and Randy, Sharon !
Lynn - -not pulling extra shift unless they call me to come in and help short-handed on dayshift and the evening shift only has three on Mondays..and your Caro is one of them until shift change that is starts July 2
Trip was great! We got the living room completely painted and put back together for my MIL. I saved another snapper trying to cross the road on the way there, we took the dogs for a walk/wade at the campground on the way home and Steve found a newt, the mountain laurel were in full bloom. Pictures later.
I'm in a bit of a snit today. I've spent the last 2 hours on the phone and online. My knee is really screwed up and swollen and painful and not getting any better. Pain now shooting down into my foot. Visit to DR w/o insurance starts at $150 and goes up from there depending on what treatment I'd need. Medical assistance in MD requires a monthly income of under $1400. So I miss that by about $100. CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT?????? Had I not taken the newer job, I'd qualify. A system designed to keep the down and out right where they are. It's no wonder so few can get off of welfare. I'm sure plenty want out of the system, but MD apparently makes it very difficult to do so. Neither of my jobs offer any health insurance at all. And when Steve gets back to work, we can only pray that he is able to get a job with insurance. As it is, I will now have to try to find another job that offers it. Even so, it's almost always only offered (if at all) after 90 days. Anyway, the Untied Way has given me the phone number of a Dr. group who charges on a sliding scale based on income. I'm still waiting for a call back, and I'll bet it might be days or weeks before I can get an appointment.
to do what everyone else proably does a LOT more often than YOU do... having to miss work sometimes and there is NOTHING quite like the comfort of the Home Bathroom !
Thank you so much Lolly for sharing your story of how you met Jack. GREAT STORY....and you got the car and the boy you said...good on you...GREAT STORY.
Happy West Virginia Day to all the West Virginians.
Judy I am glad you gave yourself some time off to look after your health...if nothing else make sure you drink lots of liquids, nothing sweet...maybe just water...You do not have to be in pain to be off work...your reason is good enough.
Thanks for the turtles video and for the article on Gabby Giffords in her home town/State
Good grief, Lynne. Hope things get better for you. Insurance can be such a mess. I know what you mean, though.
Will has been working for years. Now has a manager's position, and still has no insurance, even though he works for the state. They do not have full-time jobs at his store. Does not seem right for the state to treat people this way.
SHIRLEY, that leash is so inexpensive ! I just have to wonder if it's strong enough to "hold up". Casper is a very large dog ! I wanted one that would intimidate most other dogs along our route.
JUDYE, sorry the bug got the best of you, but glad you could head for the comfort of your own home. Didn't I have a feeling you should stay home today ?
A/c leaking all over the basement. Called the warranty people and the guy just showed up. He didn't "see" the water. REALLY? Duh. Now he came and told me the drain is clogged. When is he going to earn his $75 and do something instead of talking and telling me what I already know! Urgh!
Know I have told this before, but I remember the time when Susan had just started working at Target. She was sick on black Friday. They told her she could not go home. Period.
She barfed all over one aisle of the store.
I came to pick her up and brought Will (her twin). He barfed all over another part of the store.
Oh, Lynne...so sorry that you are hurting so much. The system is so screwed up...hope you get an apptmt. soon. We have sliding scale practices, but no specialists that I'm aware of who do it. But many subscribe to a Care-Credit payment plan....Carolyn uses that. There is no interest the first time used; after that the first 6 mos. are interest free. Might be owrth checking in to.
KAY It is best not to call in as to go to work and go home Right now they are looking ways to get rid of us old timers I have only called in sick once in 21 years
We got in new mgmt the other day and one of them pulled a report that shows all associates With 3 or more active absences occurrences WOW there is a crap load of them I was a bad girl and looked at the report after all it prints at the printer and no one picked it up yet from two days ago printing real responsible they are huh Well there are 9 pages 476 associates are on the list the most was 40 absences WOW I say
Oh and when we call in we have to call a 1 800 in Ark home office its automated you push buttons according to what is wrong Even if you are going to be late your suppose to call in They give you a number that you are suppose to give when they then transfer you to your store what a pain and if you go home sick nothing really is recorded just that you left early so its easier to go to work and go home early instead of calling in and getting a point against you I hope this make sense sometime I go on and on LOL
Attendance has been a huge problem at our school. It is frustrating when you get held responsible for the test results of a kid you have hardly seen because the kid is absent so much.
I remember when my kids were sick they were not allowed to play or watch tv if they stayed home They had to stay in bed and read They didn't miss a lot of school because of it
DanaMo---had that happen here once, too. Luckily my guy Bill knew that was what it was and replaced the drain hose himself.
SHirley....UGH! Same thing happened at work....a guy went to his supv. and told him he was very ill....guy ignored him---he threw up all over his desk!
LYNNE, you must have overdone it a bit at MIL's house--so nice of you and Steve to do all that. Sorry about your knee. Had hoped you and Steve could manage to stay away from docs until you're covered again. :( Praying that the "Untied Way" hint will prove to save the day !
I had no problem with them running out of the room if it was that bad!! If they said they were thinking they might get ill, I sent them right to the nurse.
DANAMO, I missed 6 weeks of 1st Grade back in 1942. Poor Mother. I brought home measles and had tonsilitis resulting in surgery. Topped it off by bringing home the mumps. She had my 1 year old sissie to worry about as well as poor Daddy. He'd not had the mumps and it hit him hard. I passed on to 2nd grade with no problem, but don't think such things were handled quite the same way then as they might be today.
Watching the trial talk. Reminds me of some stuff that went on between my attorney and one of my ex's attorneys. {He went through several.)
My attorney was a young woman. His first one was one of the middle-aged partners in his firm who tried to advise my attorney on how things should happen.
Her response was a very icy "thanks for the instruction." She hated him and it was obvious.
I kept the same attorney the whole time and we're still friendly. She is Kathryn's attorney, too.
Oh I forgot to say also the first day that you call in sick you do not get paid for it at all only if you call in a second day . and on the one and only time I called in sick I did take two days because it just make everyone mad that you don't get paid for the 1st day They also have three tardies is one absent LM watching trail I dvrd so behind still watching Sat now
More thunderstorms rolling into central Ohio right now, expected to last for hours and include heavy rain and hail. I may leave rather abruptly and not be back for a while.
JUDYE, you really should report this illness to the heath dept.--have to believe they will have had calls from other folks who ate at BM (no pun intended ☺)about the same time you did.
I am:
Wishing SHARON n' BEV's twin brothers a very happy birthday !
Wishing all West Virginians a happy day of celebration--is it treated as a holiday there ?
Wishing all of us and the eagles we love a Happy National Bald Eagle Day, too !
Fixed a PB&J for Hunter and a tuna sandwich for myself. Hunter inhaled his so quickly that he was gone before I finished fixing mine. He is building something with his Lego kits din the basement, I think.
JUDYE, I've always heard that WalMart employee practices are the pits. By now you have too much time invested there and can't, with the job market of today, be anything but happy that you have a steady job. Still much of it ain't right !!!! The Walton's profess to be good and charitable Chritians, but their collective greed tells another tale. In Bullhead City it was often the only game in town. However, here, there is not a WalMart within miles and miles of me. Rarely make the trek unless there is something I can't find closer.
All the kids have washed their hands of the co from what I have heard- just a bunch of strangers running it. I always say that Sam is rolling over in this grave for what has happened to his company he was a nice man that I did meet one time I say that they have him on a rotisserie he keeps spinning
Casey's chair is set much lower than other chairs to make her seem small and fragile. You can see that the back of her chair is very much lower than the other chair backs.
SHIRLEY, very intersting. I hadn't noticed the chair. Staging is all a part of the game, I guess. Hope the jurors are savvy enough to pick up a lot of that !
Our store is a little over 240 thousand square feet we opened with over 800 associates we are the biggest in Fl I still think to this day now our store is down to 493 and they still want to get down to 400 that is your customer service people
I use to love working there but not so much lately I see thing going on and don't like them They have not messed with me because of the last time that they told me my position was no longer available and my hours were no longer available and I had to open up my availability also I am open from7 am to 7pm and that is it I told them that when I got a job at walmart we were not a 24 hours store and I would have never gotten a job there if it was Stood my ground and they said 7-7 was fine they did reschedule me for a while 10-7 which I didn't mind at all but when the found out I didn't mind it they gave me 7-4 back My actual title is a sale associate and that is the jobs they are cutting My old job was Price coordinator I still do the job with no job title I told them that I was fine when they took they job away but that they would have to provide me a job that didn't hurt my neck that I have had two workman comp surgeries and didn't want a third I can't lift over 20lbs no pushing, pulling and overhead lifting because of my neck so when I had said all that they told me to keep doing what I was doing now that has been 5 years so far so I feel secure in my job and I do like what I do I love my customers well most of them LOL There I go rambling again while listening to the trial I hope all this makes sense Gonna go do something BBL
Actually Kay I sure didn't mean my clothing and hairdo comment about WV to seem unkind...mabye not a good joking idea we have a proud heritage I am not sure about parades and things here, but there is some local recognition of it, newspaper articles and Happy West Virginia Day ads here and much more in other places, I think a lot of events at many of the WV Museum sites
Judy E Part of the reason I do not shop much at Walmart, I do not shop much generally actually, is the fact that they do not treat their people well at all. Now I hear it about TARGET too. Where I live we do not have Target but we do have a large Walmart. yes their prices are better than most of the stores but I wonder still about how they treat their people . One ought to have a certain number of sick days a year...we had twenty days a year before we went on disability and there was other leave days also, professional development, personal leave, and family sickness days. If we did not use up the full twenty days a year they paid us for them...a good way to keep people in their job unless they had to be absoluteley away...all of this was in CONSERVATIVE Alberta to boot.
WE also get sick time 192 hr a year is what you can accumulate up to any thing that goes over 1/3 goes to personnel time we get 16 hrs personal time a year I have had 192 twice but used when my parents were at their ends spending time with them I am back up to 192 hrs and I have about 40 hrs pers I will turn in personal time tomorrow for what I missed today
Well I am headed off to yoga and then the optometrist and to run errands, be back later in the afternoon probably three to four hours from now...Stay well everyone and God's Blessings...
Not at all Kay ! Not irreverent... We joke about ourselves... I just suddenly had second thoughts, did not want to insult any fellow West Virginians here... "It's All Good."
Thank you....xoxo Going to go out and get some West Virginia ambience flowing through me right now ! ttfn xoxo ♥
I bought some double chocolate ice cream, thinking that Hunter would like it. Offered him a dish this afternoon, but he says it is too chocolaty. Mmmm, I love it.
Sorry...got lost....had to make a run to the store. Almost ran out of TP and Liesl's green beans!
JudyE--my sister and I AND MY KIDS were not allowed to do anything but read in bed if we were home sick, too! GM employees also have to call a 1-800 # to report absence or tardiness.....if they don't call the number, it is unexcused for any reason.
Thank you Steve for the Monday thread. Thank you Lynn for giving us a holler.
Happy WV Day and American Eagle Day.
Back from the dentist. No major crisis. Will have to replace a crown that is 12 years old. Go back next Tuesday morning. Yes, I am trying to elevate my status to that of Lynn and Lowreeda.lol
Trial is TruTV 9am - 3pm and then HLN takes over until court recesses. HLN offers continuing commentary.
Um, need to check back to find out about Casper Whinebarker and Shirley has a three-legged dog plus retirement jitters. Interesting to say the least.
Ah, Lolly, thank you for the inforation about how you and Jack met. Lucky day for you both!
JudyE, sure hope you've improved during the day and feel better now.
Sharon, happy birthday to the twin brothers. Hope they each have a nice day.
Hi to T-Bird.
Lynne2, I am so sorry you are having such a terrible time with the knee and pain and the insurance issue. Sure hope you feel better and can find a positive solution.
Sharon, happy birthday to the twin brothers. Hope they each have a nice day.
Hi to T-Bird.
Lynne2, I am so sorry you are having such a terrible time with the knee and pain and the insurance issue. Sure hope you feel better and can find a positive solution.
None of that fancy celebration stuff that I'm aware of, Kay, for WV Day. I don't recognize it at all---except that Carolyn is getting overtime pay for working!! My southern roots stick to the fact that the state was created illegally...oh, boy, did I ever get under Norma's skin with that!!!
JudyE--you did see my post about the Supreme Court ruling for WalMart, right? :(
Oh, yes, courtroom staging is very evident. And did you hear that defense insisted on their table being moved against the wall so no one could be behind them???? Judge should have said no to that.
Judie, glad that your dental fix isn't too drastic! I don't know if Sheetz sells stamps or not! I very rarely go in since I retired. THey do have fairly good food, so used to get lunches there sometimes, and they do have a fresh cinnamon bun (BIG ones) with PB icing that I adored....but they sell so fast that you have to be real early and real lucky!
Yep I saw it LYNN and I saw it on the news I feel they treat me fairly and have been asked to go in to mgmt but declined why would I want a pay cut to start as mgmt a But I know of several women that are being picked on at work and they are keeping notes like a diary but I don't have an issue not for sure if it has to do with my work-mans comps or not but both of those have closed We have women mgr at our store big time and the pay scale is the same for both men and women it has been like that for years so I don't understand what they were talking about when we have pay scales Thats all back to the trial and to rest my nect I have been on this to much already today to much to see LOL
My dental appointment was supposed to be Friday. They are very efficient about keeping up with appointments, etc.
Someone must have canceled for tomorrow morning and they hopped right on it. They always call and remind you the day before the appointment, too.
They always want you to confirm their calls, even when they are closed. I think the secretary gets paid to take calls, etc., at home. Of course, they have voice mail, and recently e-mail.
Happened once in the car. Hubby was foolish enough to ask if I wanted him to pull off the road. I was covered with child barf. I said most emphatically, YES!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm thanks for the info Just might look in to that to see if its posted somewhere her I'll ask at work I'm sure they may know being we are always getting inspected and doing good I would say
OH DARN CAM is being bad both of them doing the same thing

Yeah! The Live Cam is working again. Gracias!

Glad the cam is back up!

Thanks, Lynn.
And thanks for the new thread, Steve.
And for the call-over, Lori.
Good morning! Going outside in a few minutes but wanted to say good morning while I finished my coffee.
Need to go back to the old thread to read comments.
BBIAM
Hmm, three-legged dog hopping through my backyard.
TruTV--Found it, Lynn. Ch. 187 here.
BTW, Kay---forgot to say that I love Halleluiah, too---by almost everyone!!!
Kay, you were on a roll this morning! We want someone taking a video when you take Casper Whinebarker for a walk. Too funny!
Thanks for the wishes, Lynn. 46 years ago today the wedding bells rang.
Kay, not sure I am ready to share how we met. It is certainly a family joke!
Oh, now we have to know, Lolly.

Looks like Virginia creeper to me.
I remember the huge plant that took root in the nest when Hidey was there.
I am trying to remember if you might have already told us, Lolly.
June 11 would have been my 44th anniversary, for what it is worth. But that ended 19 years ago. That is the part that's hard to believe.
Oh, my, I am jumping all over the place this morning.
Good Morning Lori, Kay, DanaMo,
Hoda, Hedgie-Lynn, Shirley, Wanda,
Lolly and lurkers.
Thanks for the new thread Steve and whoever got the live feed working.
Thanks Lori for the call over. I was reading comments and making notes.
HAPPY 46TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO LOLLY AND JACK

So, now you know......why there are jokes about Jack trading me in for a new pickup!
Great story, Lolly. Not scandalous!
So, when did the pictures get delivered to your cousin?
Lolly I love the story. It is very romanatic and I love that Jack was persistent.
If Ed had not been persistent we would never have dated then married.
I know Norm did not get the pictures until much later! LOL
They have now taken a recess until tomorrow 9AM. That is TERRIBLE!!!!!!
JUDYE----not much trial to watch today....jury never brought in....more diatribe by Baez...recess....never resumed---recess until tomorrow.
Well, Kathryn got off to work okay this morning, but she just called to let me know that she skimped on the animal feeding.
She threw some dry food on the floor for the downstairs critters, skipped George's medication, and gave Lucky dry food. Now I know why Lucky is hollering so much. (He needs some wet food.) And I need to medicate George.

Hmm, trial is in recess until tomorrow.
Heading outside to spread mulch before it gets much hotter. Trying to really mulch everything before we are gone.

Need to take care of critters and clean out the refrigerator.
Hello eagle momsters and dadsters.
That last post was Thelma not Sharon.
Well, I just missed you again Lolly!
I had some late night greetings when it was still Yesterday at our place and Today here:
Happy 46th Wonderful Years Wedding Anniversary to you and Jack xoxo ♥ ♥
Happy WV day.
Hello Thelma not Sharon T-Bird ☺
Same to you!
You are the first to mention that on this thread!
and Happy National Bald Eagle Day !
Hi Buddy ! This is for you:
xoxo << >> ^^ //
these are supposed to be hugs and scratches
Okay the Eagles were in the nest at 11-something on Saturday, why not today ??
Good Morning Eagle Pals ☺
Hi Thelma hope things down your way are shaping up. Give Buddy
some rubs for me please.
How is the house coming along?
Yes you are the first to say about West Virginia Day.
My Mother called me earlier to tell me. I mentioned it is also "American Eagle Day". She did not ask any questions lol
Home for the day LM engaged
just a litle reminder "Belle in the Sycamore Palace" pictures from Saturday are on Magpie's Roost link - -
not the best quality but you can get an idea of how BIG that nest is
and a view of just HOW BEAUTIFUL BELLE IS...as if we didn't know that already !
Yep, Shirley, VA Creeper surrounding nest! Wish that sycamore foliage would sag down!
Yes, Lolly....do tell!
Dana, not heading to any P.O.! I had enough stamps to put the envelope to Norma in my mailbox. I avoid both of them whenever possible. I find it inexcusable that people have to stand in line for one clerk when there are 3 or more in back. I buy my stamps at the grocery store! I use Going Postal in on Foxcroft whenever feasible if I have a package to send out.
Hi JudyE
Thanks for visiting Magpie's Roost
You see that the live feed is up, yes ??
DanaWV -
I will do my best to keep the Wildflower names coming at ya' ☺
Lewis Paint and Hardware in Martinsburg has stamps too, all denominations and variety....
AND you can use the postal machine at the Main Post Office
Sweet of you to send that newspaper inforation to Norma, Lynn
♥
inforation, new word
Beautiful avatar of Kay's -

Hope you feel better soon too , JudyE
glad to read you stayed home
Oh, Service Error 503 just paid a visit :(
Hi, Thelma! Good to see you!
Shirley, sounds like KAt WAS still feeling bad...:( She probably needs an oral surgeon more than a dentist! Or maybe even an orthodontist.....
Oh-oh----JudyE must still be ill!
Feel better, Judy---and report it to the health department---very important!!
I didn't stay home
I went to work and then came home just a few min ago
OK I am a little confused
Judy
Are you staying home NOW ?
either way
Enjoy your day !

What did I miss in the Martinsburg Journal that was sent to Norma??
Thank you Margy I love you naming the wildflowers and plants. I would never know what they were called.
Hay I might have to bring you down here. To tell me what this
"mystery plant" is??
Good morning folks. Happy National Eagle Day, Happy WV Day and Happy Birthday to my twin brothers, Randy and Ronnie!
It odd I don't feel bad or sick no belly ache no cramps just going going
I told my boss I was leaving that I'm sure that they didn't want to pay me for sitting in the bathroom all day I as there 8 time from 7 ti 1030 I think they get mad when I don't ask to go home that I just state the fact that I was Leaving.
Back to LM and probably some house cleaning after all I feel fine which make me mad in a way
LOL, Margy...parking a big deterrent to using Lewis's!!!!
I went to work at 7 and came home at 1030 or so I don''t feel sick at all just kept running to the potty GOT IT NOW LOL
I feel guilty because I don't feel sick ODD HUH
No belly ache or cramps Odd
Sounds like construction around the nest doesn't it
On Face book they said the DECORAH EAGLE are about to fly the coupe
Casper is a good name for a dog you can see
JudyE My comment at 10:56am this thread. Read the part I have marked for JudyE...running to the potty is what that caused.
Still in process of reading this am activities
HEY maybe we should start taking a thermometer to the restaurants to take its temperature
I HEAR A TRAIN TRAIN
so glad you said something or I would have forgotten to read Mon thread being I didn't check the box until I got home I would have missed your comment Thanks for the reminder to read it BBL
Good late morning, everyone.
Waaaaay too much to catch up on right now but do want to wish Lolly and Jack a very happy anniversary. Please enjoy this special day together.
Chipped tooth headed to the dentist in a few. Probably file off the sharp edge and then have to return for capping. Probably cost 2 visits.
Anyway, I will try to catch up later today. Meanwhile, stay cool everyone (except Hoda) and stay safe.
Margy----I thought you had to pull an extra shift today...????
Judy, I always TOLD them I was going home---after all, I was the nurse!
Dana, sent Norma the WV heritage pages from Journal.
Commented on your nest pics, Margy!
And it worked!
LOLLY I love your pick up story
Bad fire across county line (FoxGlen for you locals)----think they had a structure collapse....all fire personnel safe. Victim going to hospital---just heard someone on scene tell medics that they needed to secure all of his clothing when they get there. Evidence?....hmmmmm.
Oh, Lolly, that is such a cute story about Jack and you!! Pickup for sure!!
JudyE---bad news: Supreme Court blocked the class action suit for the women of WalMart.
Sharon, right back atcha! I completely forgot that you had twin brothers until I saw your FB post! Happy B-day to them!
Happy Birthday to your brother twins Ronnie and Randy, Sharon !
Lynn - -not pulling extra shift unless they call me to come in and help
short-handed on dayshift and the evening shift only has three on Mondays..and your Caro is one of them
until shift change that is
starts July 2
Hi all.....Happy Anniversary Lolly and Jack!
JudyE
sometimes it's just time to say
It's My Turn
to do what everyone else proably does
a LOT more often than YOU do...
having to miss work sometimes
and there is NOTHING quite like the comfort of the Home Bathroom !
Well Good Luck to Judie at the Tooth Doctor's
back to my list
ttfn xox ♥
anyway...I need to shake my poor attitude and get ready to head for work. Thank you for allowing me to vent.
Hope everyone has a good day!
Bummer, Lynne.
sorry to read of all that !
You hit the nail on the head....
Glad you got to see the Mountain Laurel !
Prayers for your health and wellness
Loretta....what's happened to your cam???
LOLLY AND JACK HAPPY ANNIVERSARY AND MANY MORE.
Thank you so much Lolly for sharing your story of how you met Jack. GREAT STORY....and you got the car and the boy you said...good on you...GREAT STORY.
Posted a new FinFerry pic on my blog!
Dana---your comment on the storks: BEEP---wrong answer! There were 4 stork-ettes, and one parent!
Thanks Steve for the New Thread.
Happy West Virginia Day to all the West Virginians.
Judy I am glad you gave yourself some time off to look after your health...if nothing else make sure you drink lots of liquids, nothing sweet...maybe just water...You do not have to be in pain to be off work...your reason is good enough.
Thanks for the turtles video and for the article on Gabby Giffords in her home town/State
At Decorah both eaglets have been on that branch for over an hour now They think they will go for it today
37,203 viewers now
Do you think the camera man will follow then if the go for it He does move the camera every know and then back to the MT nest
Happy birthday, Ronnie and Randy!
Hope you feel better soon, JudyE.
and I hate it when all off a sudden the commercial on that page pops all at once in middle of you watching it It scared the pee put of me
LYNN et al, order stamps by mail at:
USPS
Easy as pie ! I hate going to the post office. My branch closes from 12 to 1 everyday, too. Cost cutting measure. :(
Don't think you have a poor attitude at all, Lynne.
I feel great to be honest with one exception we won't mention My tummy says its hungry and I'm to scared to eat anything right now
lol on the BEEP Wrong answer lmbo Hedgie-Lynn lol
I love what the judge with Asking the two lawyers what time is it and they couldn't agree on it Too funny and so correct
SHIRLEY, that leash is so inexpensive ! I just have to wonder if it's strong enough to "hold up". Casper is a very large dog ! I wanted one that would intimidate most other dogs along our route.
Looks like the Decorah eaglets are looking at each other saying,"If you go, I'll follow."
LOLLY, you came through with a wonderful story of "pick-up, courtship, love n' marriage ! Thanks for sharing ! I love it !
yay!!! I see the cam is up. Any visits today? None this morning when I was up and on last.
wing flapping on the eagle back to the nest darn it
LUNCH was delivered to them that why they went there wing flapping was so cute
Is it that you want a dog that intimidates or a leash that intimidates, Kay? A big ole leash with a collar with spikes?
Food at Deocorah nest caused much excitement. One eaglet ain't about to share.
JUDYE, sorry the bug got the best of you, but glad you could head for the comfort of your own home. Didn't I have a feeling you should stay home today ?
NO VISIT YET
A/c leaking all over the basement. Called the warranty people and the guy just showed up. He didn't "see" the water. REALLY? Duh. Now he came and told me the drain is clogged. When is he going to earn his $75 and do something instead of talking and telling me what I already know! Urgh!
Lynne2 so sorry feel badly for you about your swollen and painful knee.
Sharon Happy Birthday to your brothers Randy and Ronnie (the twins)!!
Kay no visits yet. Only heard little birds singing.
Know I have told this before, but I remember the time when Susan had just started working at Target. She was sick on black Friday. They told her she could not go home. Period.
She barfed all over one aisle of the store.
I came to pick her up and brought Will (her twin). He barfed all over another part of the store.
After that, they believed Susan.
Glad you are at home, JudyE. Stay there and get better.
Really sad the way employers treat older employees. No compassion nor consideration for the years of loyal service.
I had a student who missed 44 days of kindergarten. Can you believe it. The father was a doctor!
It all about their bottom line that is for sure The old walmart was not like this It has really changed over the past years
Attendance has been a huge problem at our school. It is frustrating when you get held responsible for the test results of a kid you have hardly seen because the kid is absent so much.
The eagles have finished their lunch and out on a limb looks like each on separate limbs
Makes sense to me, Judy. I know about what it takes to work around the kinks in the system.
Hungry. Just realized how late it is. Going to find some food.
So windy there. Those eaglets are gonna blow around if they take off.
If they spread their wings, they just might take off accidentally.
Is that a sycamore at the decorah nest looks sort of like the leaves when they do a close up but the trunk doesn't look like it
Oh, I always told my students that I did not want to come to my desk to tell me they were about to throw up!
or is it a sliver maple I see silver on leaves also Its really close to a house too cool
LYNNE, you must have overdone it a bit at MIL's house--so nice of you and Steve to do all that. Sorry about your knee. Had hoped you and Steve could manage to stay away from docs until you're covered again. :( Praying that the "Untied Way" hint will prove to save the day !
Did you just want them to announce it when they raised their hand??
I had no problem with them running out of the room if it was that bad!!
If they said they were thinking they might get ill, I sent them right to the nurse.
Did anyone find out what was wrong with the cam WAS IT ANTS AGAIN?????
I see a couple of pretty blue spruces below the branch at Decorah.
BBIALW
DANAMO, I missed 6 weeks of 1st Grade back in 1942. Poor Mother. I brought home measles and had tonsilitis resulting in surgery. Topped it off by bringing home the mumps. She had my 1 year old sissie to worry about as well as poor Daddy. He'd not had the mumps and it hit him hard. I passed on to 2nd grade with no problem, but don't think such things were handled quite the same way then as they might be today.
Definitely does happen--kids miss a lot of school legitimately, and workers miss a lot of time legitimately.
Happy Monday to everyone.
Put some pics on blog (Nook)----Eagle nest and Critters
Gotta eat, BBL
More branching at Decorah.
I did not know there was a Bald Eagles' Day. How nice.
And, definitely, happy West Virginia Day to all of our WV friends and eagles.
Hope it is not too bad in Columbus, Kay.
Yes, Kay
County, City and State Holiday here.
Banks and post office are open
Thanks for the Greetings !
Good day to wear Bib Overalls !
and put my hair in pigtails
LOL
xo
Fixed a PB&J for Hunter and a tuna sandwich for myself. Hunter inhaled his so quickly that he was gone before I finished fixing mine. He is building something with his Lego kits din the basement, I think.
I did call them already They said they would some one to take the temp of the food and they will NOT let me know the results just said Thank you
I loved the BM LOL
JUDYE, I've always heard that WalMart employee practices are the pits. By now you have too much time invested there and can't, with the job market of today, be anything but happy that you have a steady job. Still much of it ain't right !!!! The Walton's profess to be good and charitable Chritians, but their collective greed tells another tale. In Bullhead City it was often the only game in town. However, here, there is not a WalMart within miles and miles of me. Rarely make the trek unless there is something I can't find closer.
Good JUDY, you did what you could. If they've had other complaints they will undoubtedly follow up, but they're not about to tell you !
MARGY, yes, pigtails and bib overalls, perfect for MS West Virginny ! Are there parades, fancy dress balls, rallies, picnics ????
All the kids have washed their hands of the co from what I have heard- just a bunch of strangers running it.
I always say that Sam is rolling over in this grave for what has happened to his company he was a nice man that I did meet one time I say that they have him on a rotisserie he keeps spinning
Interesting comment about the trial:
Casey's chair is set much lower than other chairs to make her seem small and fragile. You can see that the back of her chair is very much lower than the other chair backs.
Need to run some errands.
Actually Kay
I sure didn't mean my clothing and hairdo comment about WV to seem unkind...mabye not a good joking idea
we have a proud heritage
I am not sure about parades and things here, but there is some
local recognition of it, newspaper articles and Happy West Virginia Day ads here
and much more in other places, I think
a lot of events at many of the WV Museum sites
Had to go put some things on the porch for Freecyclers. Kathryn just called. She is always posting stuff.
HEY GET YOUR BUTTS OVER TO GLO CLIMPES 2 SHE HAS A NICE EAGLE PICTURE WITHOUT A WATER MARK WE CAN TAKE COOL BEANS OK NOW i am gone
Didn't mean to complain about Target if it was my comment that you are talking about Hoda. After the barfing, Susan's requests were always respected.
She has not worked there for a long time, but her boyfriend still does.
WE also get sick time 192 hr a year is what you can accumulate up to any thing that goes over 1/3 goes to personnel time we get 16 hrs personal time a year I have had 192 twice but used when my parents were at their ends spending time with them
I am back up to 192 hrs and I have about 40 hrs pers I will turn in personal time tomorrow for what I missed today
One of the gals at work worked for Target too same stuff just a different name on the building she said h
Oh, MARGY, I didn't mean to be irrevrent either. WV is a beautiful State with wonderful residents. Sorry if my tease was out of line !
Well I am headed off to yoga and then the optometrist and to run errands, be back later in the afternoon probably three to four hours from now...Stay well everyone and God's Blessings...
Irreverent, I mean. I♥WV !
Not at all Kay ! Not irreverent...
We joke about ourselves...
I just suddenly had second thoughts, did not want to insult any fellow West Virginians here...
"It's All Good."
Thank you....xoxo
Going to go out and get some West Virginia ambience flowing through me right now !
ttfn
xoxo ♥
The camera is acting up with fuzzy lines just for a second I hope that doesn't mean anything!
I bought some double chocolate ice cream, thinking that Hunter would like it. Offered him a dish this afternoon, but he says it is too chocolaty. Mmmm, I love it.
OOO, I see what you mean about the cam, Judy. Looks bad.
This was posted on my news feed from Fox13 check it out
HUNT FOR PYTHONS IN FLORIDA
Just got a call from the dentist's office. My root canal has been changed to 8:10 tomorrow morning.
SHIRLEY Good luck on your RC in the am what a way to start a day HUH
*******************
Good Day to you aLL.

The gloom is just burning
off, and the sun is beautiful today.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Want to get it over with, though.
Leaves at the nest are curling back a bit. Interesting.
Now I gotta catch up with you all again!
Good late afternoon, everyone.
Can I buy stamps at Sheetz?
In my last few years of teaching, we went online to report absences. Of course, we usually had to get a sub, too.
I really liked that because it eliminated the problem of the secretary in charge of subs forgetting or losing the little slip of paper.
Happened to me twice. The first time, the secretary admitted that she had forgotten. The second time, the secretary tried to blame me.

Hmm, stamps at Sheetz? I have no idea.
I wonder what happened to the tripod doggy. He was hopping right along.

Shirley, when was the root canal supposed to be? I'm with Hunter on that I/C!!! TOO, TOO!
Well, I am not a native WV'ian, so I sure don't take any offense! I am a big critic!!!
Sun has FINALLY broken through!!! Temp rising already!
Oh, yes, courtroom staging is very evident. And did you hear that defense insisted on their table being moved against the wall so no one could be behind them???? Judge should have said no to that.
DanaMo, it is so irritating when service people tell us the obvious. Sure hope that problem gets resolved like NOW.
Reason I decided to teach older youngsters was because I volunteered with a 3rd grade class and a child threw up on me. A real deal-breaker.
Loretta---nice pics....and I didn't have to do any cartwheels to comment!
HEY my bank sells stamps at the ATM part of it was Wachovia now its I don't remember lol
the cam is doing it fuzzy thing just now STOP IT I SAY
Wells Fargo is the name now it just came to me Amazing the old knoggin
Hi, Jim! Almost missed your post! Hope you are recovered from your cold----soak up some of those rays!!!! That will help if you aren't well yet.
Scary about the pythons, JudyE.
Have heard that they burrow under patio slabs and such....YIKES!
I love sitting out side in the sun when I have a head cold it feel so good

My dental appointment was supposed to be Friday. They are very efficient about keeping up with appointments, etc.
Someone must have canceled for tomorrow morning and they hopped right on it. They always call and remind you the day before the appointment, too.
They always want you to confirm their calls, even when they are closed. I think the secretary gets paid to take calls, etc., at home. Of course, they have voice mail, and recently e-mail.
Yeah, I can see why that would be a problem, Judie. I haven't been thrown up on by anyone except my own children or pets.
Oh, dear....Robyn just posted on FB:
Awaiting ambulance to transport Tori to children's hospital from winchester
No other details.....that's Children's in DC.....
Please add Tori to your prayer list immediately....poor kid has been through so much.....
Happened once in the car. Hubby was foolish enough to ask if I wanted him to pull off the road. I was covered with child barf. I said most emphatically, YES!!!!!!!!!!
He did an immediate pull-off.
Prayers for Tori. Let us know, Lynn.
BTW, JudyE---our county health department posts all restaurant inspections online! And the MD county next to us puts them in the newspaper!
News update to morning fire near Martinsburg.....
FF Injured
camera is acting up big time
Hmm thanks for the info Just might look in to that to see if its posted somewhere her I'll ask at work I'm sure they may know being we are always getting inspected and doing good I would say
OH DARN CAM is being bad both of them doing the same thing
Cam is going to go kaput again.....just sayin'!
