I have a life-sized grocery display cut-out of Dale and it is one of my prized possessions! Carolyn was working at Food Lion back then and got it for me.
Ground to cloud has finally stopped! 3 hrs. was a long seige.
We ran to the phone to call our Mom and the glass door blew in on us. We ran to the other side of the house and those windows blew in next. It was awful.
well, here comes more lightning. UGH. According to the radar, we should be in the clear. This is turning into the storm from hell that's never going to leave......
@NatureNut Yes, this nest is in Front Royal, roughly 10 minutes from where I live. I heard rumors about it last week and then Friday afternoon I found that DGIF actually banded two chicks in it last year and were planning on doing the same this year. This person gave me more exact a location, so sure enough, found it about an hour later. Problem was we had to look thru trees to see them, so I needed to find a better way to get a good shot. Found a family member that had land very close who gave me full access. a bit of a walk, but well worth it. I'll be tracking the progress of these two from now on, and am planning on contacting DGIF to be out there to take photos during the banding.
Lost in Blogland!! GREAT pictures,Paula. If we ever need a brain vacation, can look at your pics!!
Got hair trim today down in Dunkirk, MD & hairdresser said she saw eagle chick hatch on news last night!! Probably Decorah---their camera is the trick! Osprey cam at Park, when it was working good at start-up had 2 nest cams, joy stick & zoom!--We think cams are OK, just the connections not good from there to the outer world. Trying to get it online-DUH.
PA Lynn, how awful about tornado!!!
Think I will call it a day--downloaded all 4 car pics Fubby took at show!Am trying to figure out each dwnld method & who works right---not found yet! May be calling "Peggy"!
Oh my gosh! There is so much to read but after writing this report up past 2 days not sure I could focus on it. Well I have completed another week of school.
I hope everyone is doing well this evening. I skimmed over a few posts well more then a few and saw someone mentioned... Liberty?
Susan I feel honoroed to have witnessed both returns this weekend, Odin and Laird... sometimes insomnia isn't a bad thing. Maybe my mom will hook me yet with those 2 nests. which means more phone calls daily lol
Paula how awesome is that, they knew exactly who to trust for a visit.
Hi Robyn.. Early this morning or yesterday (not sure which), there was an eagle in the nest, didn't look like Belle or Truder and I thought it might possible have been Lib. Not sure because it was on the still cam.
Wanda that would be wonderful if it was, what do they neEd tHe nest for now since they aren't incubating or raising young. Maybe if ii was Lib he took the opportunity to understand what he needs to do now... ;)
I was already sleeping when huge storm hit last night. HOLY COW! So glad I wasn't up to hear PA Lynn's story about the tornado then try to go to bed. Don't think I'd have slept. LynnPA that must have been horrific.
Did tons of yard work yesterday. I blew leaves for three hours and my elbow is killing this morning. But it looks great outside - or did before that storm came through last night. I love standing on the deck and surveying all my work when it's all cleaned up. Wish I felt the same about housework! :)
Same here Lori, suppose to be 75 tomorrow or so I read hopefully I can get out tomorrow and clear my garden up a bit more, past 2 days have been school work and tuesday starts again...
Good Morning Geula! I hadn't seen the Decorah nest in the dark, but that is a great set-up, isn't it? It's a nice bright picture, so crisp even in the dark! That's incredible.
Good morning all:) Today's nest weather- Mostly sunny. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Warmer with highs in the mid 70s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
@Lori-Bad as ever! Hey yesterday after we were chatting there was a commercial on about a product for easy cabinet refinishing. Check it out. http://cabinets.rustoleumtransformations.com/ I think I'm going to try it.
Its so hard to tell with the still cam. I don't see the black spot on the head, but I don't think the camera has given me a chance to see it. What does everyone else think? Oh maybe I do see a spot? Darn...
here's a trick after your still cam is about 5 seconds into its refresh, YOU hcan hit refresh and sometimes get an updated pic before waiting 30 seconds
right! sometimes! I refreshed and twice I got the same time and once it refreshed...My mother waited 9 months in order to see me-I can wait 30 seconds to the the eagles...or not ;-)
yeah, the refresh before waiting 30 seconds works about 90% of the time for me
Thanks for the weather report Megan... hoping that anything bad with the weather here waits 'til I get off at 8 pm but I am on call, so I could get sent back in
Prayers that all will be safe with the weather in all our Eagle Corners, worldwide
It's really a shame that I didn't see the Decorah cam when I started my eagle sculpture from clay. I made the feathers on his back too small, but no one knows that except the eagle lovers! It's our secret. Maybe I can "fix" it when I paint it.
Good Morning Lori! sent you a little email last night, when you have time to check it.
I have to leave a little earlier than usual, expect a busy day today... or maybe later. Wow, could be really warm, have to dig out the sandles... but tomorrow I might have to wear socks with them. Sounds attractive Huh ? Okay, Best wishes for a good, safe healthy day, to Everyone xoxox ttfn ☺ ♥
Good morning alll. Playing catch-up.... Scott, so hope that you'll be able to get shots of the banding.....maybe your contact will actually let you attend!!!! Get a press pass!!! Freelance for your local paper!!!
Lori, I keep Dale in the basement now. Seeing him multiple times a day up here was too depressing....downstairs it's easier not to look too often.
Still no Andy last night.....hope all is well with her.....
Wanda, your pic from yesterday is a red X......???????????
Hi, Shar----I was wondering the same thing!!!!! Checked to make sure there wasn't a new thread---nope! So don't know where everyone went! How's everything in Bedford? How is the new job working out??

This training is not conducted near the eagles' nest, but the sound carries and we didn't want anybody to be alarmed. The sound may be disabled through April 18. ROFL!! Sharon, thanks for posting that info. Nice not to have to listen to the wind blow----it's supposed to get up bad later....I never hear anything else but that 99% of the time IF I have sound at all.
Good morning! Impressed to have our video back and knew there was no sound. Just had not looked and read below our pic. We do get concerned when we hear the gun shots.

Beautiful pictures, Scott! How really neat that you have the nest so close. There is a nest here in Texas that a photographer takes pictures of and blogs. They, however, are not banded.

I made the split---painless, as always!
We ran to the phone to call our Mom and the glass door blew in on us. We ran to the other side of the house and those windows blew in next. It was awful.
Okay, so I was talking about the tornado on the previous page and found myself on this page!! Oh well!!
OMG Linda....how HORRIBLE!!! I cannot even imagine how scared you all must have been. I would think something like that would stay with you FOREVER.
It's like the Wizard of Blog Linda....LOL!
Yeah! We actually lost everything! Clothes, furniture, home, everything. Had to live in a hotel for quite a while.
As a kid I thought that was neat at first, but it wore off pretty fast!
You could literally walk up the stairs of the house and near the top there was NOTHING left! No second story.
Okay, so I'm blabbing......
I think I better head up the stairs and catch some zzzzzzz's!
I'm really saying Good Night this time!!
I don't want to become a BLOGAHOLIC,like someone else I know!! LOL! ☺☺☺
Great pictures Paula.
OMG how terrible....I'd have peed myself.
They are really getting nailed in parts of the Midwest...but there are some cool pics on FB The Weather Channel Page.

I am having so much fun. I have been picking on my niece for days now on face book. She is now going to sick my kids onto me. Ha ha!!!
Lynne, they showed the storm over Randallstown on the DC channel weather report.
I know my sis said they were expecting BAD weather around St. L----hope they don't get hail like KC got!
Lolly, they showed Decorah on the CBS evening news, too. I commented earlier that they acted like it was all brand new and unheard of!!! LOL!
OK, things are finally calming down out there now.
wow, we made the DC weather news huh? Glad it's just about over.
Bear report
Ooops got lost in the split! Put the house pictures on my blog, too.
Oh Wow, PA Lynn, sounds really scary being in that tornado...something I hope I never have to experience.
Great pics Paula! thanks for sharing them!

Good morning Lori
Lynn, I but up laughing everytime I read about your life size cutout of Dale! Where do you keep him? lol
Hey Robyn what's up?
I just got finished reading the last two pages of blog. How lucky is Paula to have a bird sanctuary like that? Awesome.
That should be BUST UP laughing Lynn about your Dale standup cutout.
That is one dark & very grainy picture of the nest this morning.
I was already sleeping when huge storm hit last night. HOLY COW! So glad I wasn't up to hear PA Lynn's story about the tornado then try to go to bed. Don't think I'd have slept. LynnPA that must have been horrific.

Yes, the next few days have some wicked winds in the forecast.
LIVE FEED IS BACK UP
Good Morning Lori!
sent you a little email last night, when you have time to check it.
I have to leave a little earlier than usual, expect a busy day today...

Hope everyone has a great day.

DECORAH COMING UP ON CBS MORNING SHOW AGAIN!!!!
40 minutes and no posts? Is everybody alive?
Geula, can't wait to see your eagle sculpture!!! How much longer????
DanaMo....need refinishing info....need to check it out further!
Lori, sometimes the leafblower stirs up my tendonitis in my elbow....not fun! If it's on the outside (lateral) wear a tennis elbow wrap!!!
Hi, Shar----I was wondering the same thing!!!!! Checked to make sure there wasn't a new thread---nope! So don't know where everyone went!
How's everything in Bedford? How is the new job working out??
Well, on my new job, I am on production now and off training pay. More will be revealed.
Note: Audio is disabled due to outside training activities conducted by FWS law enforcement. This training is not conducted near the eagles' nest, but the sound carries and we didn't want anybody to be alarmed. The sound may be disabled through April 18. Due to audio being disabled, we were able to restore the video to the prior state and with better color. Thank you.
So training pay was guaranteed, and production pay is based on words typed per hour or day??
I'm sure you are doing well in that regard! It's not as if you don't know what you're doing!!! Just learning a new program, right?
Right and doing some voice recognition and the pay isn't as much for that. I get paid by the line typed.
ROFL!! Sharon, thanks for posting that info. Nice not to have to listen to the wind blow----it's supposed to get up bad later....I never hear anything else but that 99% of the time IF I have sound at all.
Good Monday Morning!
Hope everyone is well this morning. Don't have time to stay. Off to the dentist (ugh) this morning!
I wonder if I can bring my ipod (don't have a smart phone anymore) and read up on the blog in the car. Talk about a headache!! It's a 35 min drive.
Will check back in this afternoon!
TEAM LEBERTY?? WHERE'S SHARON??
Where did you get that? I looked under cam and it's not there, unless it would show up if I refreshed page.
Voice recognition? Don't understand how that relates to dictation???
Oops.....There you are, Sharon!!
Did you see my post last night about the possible upcoming poll vote for Truder. I posted I KNEW what your vote was:
JERK
Have a great morning, all!
Just say no to "JERK"!!
TEAM LIBERTY!!!!!!
Good morning! Impressed to have our video back and knew there was no sound. Just had not looked and read below our pic. We do get concerned when we hear the gun shots.
Guess what! We got a little over half an inch of rain during the night! Of course wish it was much more but happy we got that. Thought of you during the night as we had loud thunder and lots of lightening as well.
Hedgie, I can't even get the live feed to come up, just a blank spot where the pic should be and that posted below.
As far as the speech/voice recognition, I get a lot of jobs that are done in SR and I have to edit what the computer thinks the doc said.
I am with you on that, Sharon!
TEAM LIBERTY!!!!!!
So, I read where Lynn is keeping Dale in the basement. LOL Had to read back to wonder WHAT??? Was there something Lynn was not telling us?☺
Paula, really enjoyed the beach house pictures! Have a clearer picture now. So, what were you painting? There is a lot of paneling in the house.
@hedgie Yep, that's what I'm planning. I shoot photos for the local paper already, so they'd run them with no problems.
Just so you know, I am back to my old personality!!!
Well shucks! From Jordan Lake:

Little birdies are really cleaning up the nest or are they stealing nesting material? Think they are cleaning up!
Crow in nest---I think it's a crow! Tiny!
Tiny being relative, of course, to the size of the nest!!!!
Scott, we're on the same page!!! Great to hear that you already have the credentials!!!
Lolly, Dale and I go WAY back!! LOL! I think the first time I met him was around '88.....2nd time was '98!
Oh, Sharon, how often does the computer screw up??? I know dealing with Onstar in the truck that voice recognition is NOT perfect in any regard!
